And welcome to Sleep Cove, with me, Christopher Fitton, the place to come for a great night's sleep.
This recording has been created to help you feel calm, confident and in control before and during your exams.
It's here to help you sleep deeply, revise with focus, let go of stress and approach exam day with a clear and steady mind.
So please listen to the first.
this recording in a place where you can safely sleep, put your phone to the side, so there's
no distractions. But of course, remember to subscribe to us first, and let's begin. Exams
often feel very important. And when something feels important, the mind can begin to think
too much. It can run ahead. It can imagine.
all the things that might happen.
It can try to prepare for them by worrying.
But tonight, you are going to teach your mind something much better.
You are going to teach your mind that calmness helps you prepare.
Rest helps you remember.
And sleep is so beneficial for you.
and confidence will help you before.
So this is your time now.
A time to put the books down.
A time to let the day drift away.
A time to allow your body to rest.
Your breathing to soften and your mind to become peaceful.
You don't need to solve anything right now.
You don't need to revise right now.
You don't even need to think about tomorrow.
This time is simply for you.
As you listen, you can begin to feel more and more relaxed,
knowing that every calm breath is helping you.
Every relaxed moment is supporting you.
is supporting you
and every peaceful thought
is reminding your body
that you are safe
so please get as comfortable as you can
move around
and allow yourself to settle
into the bed
let your head rest
into the pillow
let your shoulders
drop
let your hands become still
easy breath in
and a soft
relaxing breath out
breathing in calm
and breathing out pressure
breathing in peace
and breathing out the stress of the day
there is nothing you need to force
nothing you need to make happen
you can simply allow
this experience
to unfold naturally
and perhaps you can notice how good it feels to stop, to pause, to give yourself permission to rest.
Because rest is productive too, sleep is preparation too.
Wellness is part of success and as your breathing begins to slow,
As you perhaps do some deep breathing
You may begin to notice
The muscles around your eyes
Becoming softer
All those tiny little muscles
Just relaxing
The eyelids feeling heavier
Softer and heavier
And all the tension has gone
Around your eye area
Your forehead smooth
your jaw loosers and your tongue rests
and your face becomes calm
and as the face relaxes
the mind can begin to relax too
because when the body
receives the message
that it is safe
the mind can follow
you may feel that relaxation
begins at the top of your head
a gentle soothing sensation
soft and peaceful relaxing all the muscles here
moving slowly down through the forehead
through the cheeks
into the jaw
and down relaxing
the shoulders softening
you've been carrying
begins to slide away now
down from the shoulders
away from the chest through the arms into your hands
your arms can feel heavy and warm
it doesn't matter
whatever you notice
is right for you
and as you continue to breathe
you can allow that relaxation
to spread
through the chest
softening the heart space
calming the nervous system
letting the breath
Move easily, slow and steady.
And as you breathe, you may begin to feel a quiet confidence returning, not loud and not false.
Just steady, like something already is inside of you.
A sense that you can handle what is ahead and you can study one step at a time.
You can sleep when it's the right time to go to sleep.
time to go to sleep and you can revise when it's the right time to revise and you can take
your exams calmly clearly and confidently and now let this relaxation feeling move into the
stomach letting the stomach soften letting you do those deep breaths when it flows all around your
torso into your back up and down your
spine, letting all those large and small muscles release.
You feel so good.
You're doing so well and this relaxing feeling moves into your hips, letting them become
heavy into your pelvis, soothing all muscles, soothing your thigh, the legs resting.
your knees softening, large muscles in your leg loose.
As the feeling moves down into your ankles, all the way down to your feet, to the toes
now from the top of your head, all the way down to the tips of your toes.
Your whole body becomes calmer and calmer and deeper and deeper relax takes you feel
further into comfort, you begin to picture a peaceful place, a safe and tranquil place,
somewhere beautiful, somewhere that belongs only to you and in this peaceful place.
There is a gentle stream, a stream of clear water, flowing slowly beneath blue sky.
The light is warm and you can find your same.
self-resting safely on a small boat or canoe, floating gently along the stream, and you
don't need to... The stream knows where to take you, and your unconscious mind knows how to guide
you. The water carries you easily, slowly and peacefully, and as the canoe drifts along,
you can hear the soft sound of water moving around you.
A gentle trickle, a quiet flow and a soothing rhythm.
Perhaps this rhythm begins to match your breathing in and out as the sky above you.
His wide and diffuse soft clouds drift by and burn lazily across the sky where everything is unhurried.
Everything is peaceful.
And as you float along this stream, you can imagine
that ooch thought about exams, revision, studying or results are like leaves, resting on the surface of the water of those leaves.
Drift away, and you can imagine them drifting away now, thoughts about pressure and nerves.
Float away, thoughts about worry, float and drift off, a thought about.
not doing enough, just goes.
And the more those thoughts drift away,
the more you realise that they didn't serve you,
and as they drift away,
you realise that you can create more space
inside your mind, space for calm,
more space for focus, space where confidence can come flooding in,
and space for calmness and relaxation.
Because tonight you don't have to carry tomorrow, only task is to rest.
And as you rest, your mind can organize what you have learned.
Your unconscious mind can store useful information and your memory can strengthen and
your body can restore.
your body can be restored into energy for tomorrow and your confidence can grow quietly beneath the surface.
As the stream now begins to widen, the bang so per now.
The gentle stream flows into a beautiful calm bay.
The water becomes sparkling and still where it's so clear with beautiful colours that shows
shimmer under the light, waiting peacefully in the bay.
It's a beautiful boat, safe and the canoe drifts gently alongside it.
You step easily onto the boat, and it feels stable beneath your feet.
Comfortable and secure, you can see reclining chairs waiting for you.
And you decide to settle into one, leaning back,
Feeling safe and supported and feeling deeply at ease.
As the yacht, ever so gently, moves in the water, rocking softly side to side.
Every gentle movement, you relax more side to side.
Calm, rocking you deeper and deeper into relax,
where touches your skin.
The sunlight feels so much.
soothing and the sound of the water is peaceful and everything here moves, nothing rushes.
Nothing worries and everything. There's even a portion of the boat that has a glass floor
and if you want you can see the beautiful blue water underneath and the colourful fish
slowly swimming through and everything here moves at a perfect pace.
Nothing rushes, worries are gone and your mind learns from this place.
Your mind learns that studying doesn't need to be panic.
Revision doesn't need to be stressful.
Exams don't need to be fearful.
They can simply be steps.
steps that you're on
like a staircase
one step at a time
going towards your goal
one page at a time
one topic at a time
one question at a time
and one breath at a time
and you feel so good
you feel so rather
this is how you're going to feel
for the upcoming exams
and as the yacht rocks you gently
I would like you to begin counting in your minds from 100
counting down
you don't need to say their numbers out loud
just allow them to drift
through your thoughts
100
99
98
and with each number
with each number the body can become heavier
96
With each number the mind can become quieter and if you lose count,
that is perfectly fine.
You are counting down now.
Yourself and if the numbers fade away, that's perfectly fine.
It just means that you're relaxing deeply,
but you're letting go and the further you count down.
Maybe in the 80s, the numbers can become.
less important, they can float away just like those leaves were on the stream and you can rest
in this peaceful place ready to receive positive suggestions that are going to help you and now
your body rest deeply. Your unconscious mind can listen, the subconscious mind can listen because
it's why, because it stores memories. It stores the effort that you
made and every time you study, every time you revise, every time you practice, your mind is
building pathways and those pathways become clearer with calm repetition and you don't
need to know everything all at once, you only need to keep returning, returning to your notes,
returning to your plan, returning to your focus and returning to your calm.
You are becoming someone who studies steadily.
You are becoming someone who revises with purpose.
You are becoming someone who can begin.
And beginning is powerful and when it's time to revise you can find it easier to start.
To sit down, you can take one breath and choose one task.
and you can begin once you begin the momentum grows.
As you focus on one topic at a time, one page at a time and one question at a time,
your attention becomes stronger, your mind becomes clearer,
and your studying becomes more manageable.
You don't need to be perfect.
You don't need to do everything in one day.
You can simply keep sure.
showing up consistently and with patient.
And every time you revise you are investing in your future confidence.
Every useful note you read helps you.
Every practice question helps you.
And every summary helps you.
Every small effort counts.
Because of every small effort counting.
You can feel proud of yourself at taking action.
You are motivated to study because you care about yourself.
you're motivated to revise
because you want to give yourself the best chance
and you're not motivated by fear
you're motivated by self-respect
and you choose healthy focus
you choose not to be distracted
and when your mind wonders you can gently bring it back
with no frustration
no self-criticism
just returning back to the page, back to the task and back to the breath, as you are capable of focus.
And you are capable of learning and remembering, and your memory becomes stronger when you're calm,
and your concentration becomes clearer when you're rested.
Your confidence grows when you're prepared, and every night of good sleep,
helps your mind process and stall what you've learned
and if you need to listen to this recording again
as every time you listen
the more it will help you
so before exams you can sleep well
the night before an exam you let go
you remind yourself that you've done
all that you can for today
your body to settle
and to breathe slowly and deeply
to become calm as you sleep deeply, peacefully and restoratively.
Because sleep is part of your preparation.
It's so important.
Sleep is where the mind organizes and the body restores.
Night is where your confidence settles.
Your confidence builds.
The day approaches.
You feel calmer than you expected.
And you may notice energy in your body.
your body. But you understand it differently now. That energy is not fear. That energy is
readiness and focus. That energy is your body preparing to do something important
and you can breathe that energy into calm power and turn nerves into focus and turn
pressure into clarity and turn worry into action. And on the day of the
exam you wake up feeling rested as you breathe deeply, move steadily and you prepare calm sense
of control, sense of confidence, you can remind yourself that you have prepared, that you are calm
and you can do this one step at a time and if you want to imagine yourself arriving for the exam
and you see yourself walking towards the door. Your posture steady or
breathing easy and your mind clear.
You may notice other students around you.
You see what they're doing, but none of that affects you.
As you stay connected to yourself, connected to your breath, preparations and you enter the
room.
You find your seat and sit down and you feel your feet on the floor and you feel the pen in
your hand and this becomes your england.
And this becomes your anchor, your breathing steady, mind clear, or anxious feelings that arise.
Simply remind you to take it slowly, deeply, as you say to yourself, this is the time
to focus.
This is the time to show what I can do and as the exam paper is placed in front of you.
You remain steady.
You take one slow breath and read these.
instructions carefully. You scan the paper calmly and you look through the questions and you
realise that you know more than you thought. Some answers come quickly. Some need a little time.
That is completely normal. But you don't panic when a question takes thought. You simply
pause, breathe and read it again. And allow your knowledge is stored safely inside of you.
and your unconscious mind knows how to find what is useful
and the karma you are the easy it is because
it gives you access to what you know
as you just take one question at a time,
organize your time well, and begin with what you can answer.
Your confidence builds as you go
and as you write your thoughts become clearer.
Your pen moves steadily and your ideas flow.
As you recall facts, concepts, examples, methods and details.
To express yourself clearly and you stay focused on the task in front of you.
And if a distraction appears, it fades into the background.
And if someone moves, costs or turns a page or leaves the room, it doesn't matter.
And you remain centered with your feet on the floor, pain in the hand.
breathing steadily.
You're so calm during the exam.
You're so capable in this exam
and you can recall so well.
And you've prepared to do your best
and your best is enough
and you answer one question
and then the next.
Checking the time and not rushing.
Moving with a steady purpose
and if there's a difficult question
you stay calm
you can always come back to it.
and you remind yourself, I can handle this.
I can think clearly.
I could find a way to show what I know, and you breathe.
You break it down and you write, and everything comes back to you.
Words, phrases, methods, facts, useful ideas.
Your mind opens and the answers, form and flow,
and you continue calmly, confidently and one question at a time
and when you finished the end of the exam
you review what you've written and you
make any final improvements
and you feel how proud, how proud you've handled yourself
you feel proud of how calm you've been
and you close the paper
put down the pen
and you know you've tried your best
feel a quiet sense of achievement
not because everything had to be perfect
but because you stayed calm and focused
you remembered and you gave your best
and that is success
and you leave the room with a sense of relief
a sense of pride and a sense of freedom
you've done it and your mind learns from that
experience and it learns that exams can be calm and it learns that you can cope and that you can
prepare asleep focus complete the exam you complete it on your own terms and your confidence is growing
stronger thoughts drift into your mind you receive them and you say i am calm i sleep deeply and peacefully before
my exams. I let go of stress when it's the time to rest. I revise with focus and motivation.
I study one step at a time. I can begin easily. I return to my work with calm concentration.
My memory becomes clearer. When I am relaxed, my mind stalls what I learn. My confidence grows
with preparation. I am capable.
I am steady, I am focus.
I'm reading exams.
I breathe slowly and think clearly.
And I take one question at the time.
I remember what I need when I need it.
And I turn nervous energy into useful focus.
I trust myself.
I trust my preparation.
And I do my best with a clear mind.
I'm so proud of myself for showing up.
I'm becoming more confident by those suggestions settle deeply.
You can return in your imagination to the yacht in the calm blue bay.
Where the water is still peaceful, the air is warm and the gentle rocking continues.
Side to side and you allow all exam thoughts to fade for now.
The studying will happen when it's time to study.
The revising will happen when it's time to revise
And the exam will happen when it's time for the exam
But now it's time for sleep of confidence
Motivation and come where you sleep these scenes can grow
