Hi, and welcome to Sleep Cove, the place to come for a great night's sleep.
In tonight's episode, I'll be doing a guided meditation where we'll use deep breathing,
as well as guided colour imagery, to remove any stress or anxiety.
I think this will be perfect to get you to sleep in 15 minutes or less.
I recorded this episode about five years ago
and it's been very popular with over 3 million lessons.
So I've re-recorded it with my new setup.
So I hope you enjoy the improved quality.

you'll be listening to the sound of my voice
as I guide you in this meditation
I would like you to put one hand on your stomach
and one hand on your chest
and feel where the breathing is coming from
you want to make sure that the breathing is emanating from the stomach coming from the upper chest area.
If your breathing is coming from your upper chest area, as in your upper chest is moving up and down,
then we know we are not breathing efficiently or deeply.
We want to make sure that the breathing is how to make sure that the breathing is how,
happening through our stomach and that's called deep belly breathing where we breathe
efficiently and the oxygen and air circulates to the deep parts of our lungs if we use our
upper chest area to breathe that means we are shallow breathing and shallow breathing is not
good, as it means that oxygen cannot bind with the red blood cells because your CO2 levels
will not be in sync with your body. And that's why it's really important to do slow, deep
breathing. Breathing unnecessarily fast actually makes the red cells not bind with the
oxygen cells efficiently.
And that is one of the reasons why anxieties and stresses can increase.
So imagine or place your hand on your stomach.
Imagine that your stomach is gently rising and falling.
It's very still.
You want to make sure that the hand is gently rising and falling.
and your energy is coming from your stomach.
The deep breath are in your stomach.
I want you to take a deep breath in and count to five, two, three, five, then hold for two seconds and then let go like a balloon gently deflating and all the air comes out.
of your loaves in one smooth motion and try on every exhale to gently let go relax out of your nose
and this will help you get into a deep cycle of breathing we always want to make sure that the exhale
is longer than the inhale.
That means our blood chemistry will be in sync with our body
and it helps to reduce anxieties
and gives calming energy to the body.
And as we take these deep breath
to imagine the muscles in your full head
and head
are gently smoothing,
Detensing and relaxing.
Things you have in your forehead are now gently smoothing out.
Let the tension drop.
This feeling moves down into your eyelids now.
The little muscles around your eyes gently detents as well.
You're tight on your eyes anymore.
They just feel like a gentle sheet.
sheets, just draping over your eyelids, clenching little muscles around your eyes, smooth out.
And this feeling moves down into the rest of your face, into your jaw, and your jaw
can slightly open if you relaxation in your jaw, your head is so relaxed.
It feels amazing.
It feels so good.
because this time is just for you.
If you are needed urgently in any way,
you can always go,
but you have to remember
that this time is just for you
to be at peace
and to feel so nice and so good.
And as you take a D,
you feel the energy flow into your neck,
your upper back,
complete,
Relaxation moves into these areas, removing any pains or any stresses or strains from the day.
Gently move as this relaxing feeling.
Moves from your neck to your upper back, to your lower back, charging, charging all parts of your back area, to your upper chest, to your upper chest, to your upper back.
To your belly feels so nice, congregates around for a little while, relaxing, which are doing those deep, this heaning, deeply relaxing energy goes and moves down into your hips, tops of your legs.
And from the day just disappears as it soothes, relaxes and detenses, and detenses all from the day.
From the top of your legs, down into your calves,
and back and forth and up and through and through.
Finally going deeper into your toes and your feet.
You may want to give your toes a little wriggle,
good and relax.
From the tops of your toes.
This feeling of relaxation is perfect.
It's sublime.
It feels amazing.
So peaceful.
and so it ease as you look outwards.
You may see the dark,
your eyes close.
You want to imagine
in your mind's eye a colour,
a colour that comes to you,
that you want to choose yourself
and in the black of your mind's eye.
You see in the distance a little colour chosen.
You see it vividly,
and you see it growing and glowing,
and it grows and grows and gets,
and gets larger, so it's eventually filling up black in your mind's eye and becoming that vibrant
colour you've chosen, and you realise that this colour, the colour you've chosen, is a healing colour,
a wonderful, wonderful healing colour, and it's still growing, and it's still getting larger,
in your mind's eye is going now and it's becoming intense and larger this colour and you know
that this colour can heal you and make you more at ease and at peace which just overflowing
from the black of your mind's eye is going into your head and into your muscles again and
just as the healing energy and made you at peace is twice deep deep.
Relaxing your muscles and body.
That colour is absorbing all the muscles soak it in.
It's even going into your cells.
The colour flows again into your body,
into your neck, into your back and into
that it's making you doubly deeper relaxed.
You feel so relaxed,
so at ease.
You didn't think that you could feel
even more relaxed or doubly relaxed. It feels wonderful.
But this colour is flowing all through your upper chest and upper torso.
Now it goes into your car, into your thighs, into your toes.
Feel it going from your back to your stomach.
Through every part of your body, relaxing everything.
relaxing all the muscles and you're feeling doubly relaxed as the healing light.
The healing colour fills you completely.
This is the colour you have chosen.
You can see it so vividly moving through your body.
Everything it touches it relaxes.
It really is a truly magical,
and healing experience.
This is your colour now.
This is your healing light energy.
Because all colour comes from light.
You're very happy to know
that you have this colour with you,
a colour that you can visualise
and it can come and be part of you.
Whenever you need it,
a wonderful feeling that you can bring into your mind's eye
whenever you want
or whenever you do need.
Getting gently in your body now.
So healed, so relaxed, so at ease.
And it helps you to do the deep breathing.
You feel it in your lungs.
Going into your bloodstream.
Coming as an inhale.
and leaving as an exhale out into the universe, truly magical and serene, just for you,
because you are a good, creative person, and you can relax and be yourself whenever you need
and want so happy for you, that you can deeply relax now, forever in this moment, and if you need to
You can calm this colour as it calves you to and fro, back and forth, up and down, round and round, relaxing you, detensing you, deeper and deeper. What an amazing feeling. Be it, see it, feel it, you can relax and be one with you. You can relax and be one with you.
