Begin.
Before the story starts, let's take a little time to relax.
Please lie down and get yourself into a comfortable position.
Move around and adjust your body so that you find yourself in a place,
slowly take each as you relax out, you notice that the tension in your body
seems to feign
soles in your body
start to release
that previously
been holding so tightly
your body
feels light
and you continue to breathe
deeply
you feel so so relaxed
your body is so calm
this time is just for you
for you to focus
on yourself
allow your mind to unburnt
in itself.
Just as your body
has released the tension
it was carrying
to release its stresses,
you realize that you need
some time to relax,
some time away
from your day-to-day life
and that is why I'm about
to take you away
to the ancient city of Caucason
in south-west
to the Pyrenees.
glisten in the distance.
This city,
encircled by its medieval walls,
looks like something from a fairy tale.
Yet it is real.
Its ancient city streets
you start to hear
a gentle chattery
fading in.
The gentle sounds of a city
buzzing around you
become more tuned in to your surroundings.
You realise that the chatter is in French
and it sounds gentle and elegant.
You realise that you are on a narrow street
with houses close together.
The buildings around you
have a familiar French feel.
The wooden shutters closed
to keep the inside's cool.
The roofs are topped with terracotta tiles.
The street is opening up in front of you
and you can see an ancient bridge
crossing a slow and wide river.
The opposite bank appears green
and you see what appears to be
like a fairy tale castle.
You decide to cross the beach,
bridge and it stood water from this river.
Castle in front of you.
You can see there many turrets.
You realise that this is not a fairy tale castle.
You stop to take in the splendor of the castle.
The countless turrets topped with grey slate roofs
and the vast irregular walls and bottomments
all perched upon a hill
by the river owned.
You feel like you have been transported
back in time
to ancient France
can imagine the great armies
which must have protected
this huge defensive structure
and patrolled the walls.
There would have been flags
which once would have flown
from the towers.
You can feel the history
oozing from each stone
as you gaze upon it.
perfectly preserved.
The road winds gently,
as it gently climbs the hill.
The turrets of the old walls
towering above the small and pretty shops
and cafes
which nestle outside the city walls
becomes a path.
The path begins to climb
more steeply now
up towards the Port Deload
The path climbs to the foundations of the ancient city walls.
Now you can touch them as you look up and see the vastness of the walls.
As it looms above you, feel the ancient stones of years of history,
as it skirts around the outer wall.
And through a gateway in the wall before you, you see another city wall.
as big and ancient as the outer wall, dotted with towers.
Being here between the walls is like walking through a portal to another time.
Modern cities behind you and the ancient city is before you.
Grassy space between the walls.
And as you look up you can see the clear blue sky above, so still and
silent. Continue through the second wall. You step into the ancient city. You feel transported back in time
is an imposing semi-circular wall where you see battenments on top and as you follow the curve
a large entrance emerges in the centre of the wall. This must be the entrance to Chateau-Contal. Castle within.
into a large semi-circular courtyard.
After the narrow streets, this place feels very open.
The straight edge of the courtyard drops deeply below into the old dry-dow
and filled with grass and wildflowers.
But the old stone bridge remains, which leads to a doorway flanked,
by two huge towers to form the castle and the chateau itself is an ancient and formidable
looking building. Its vast walls adorned with towers each topped with squat cone-shaped roofs,
with occasional slits found on the towers. But apart from this, the walls are solid,
offering no indication of what might be inside,
you decide to walk over this bridge and explore the chateau.
You walk through the entrance and find yourself inside another courtyard.
This one rectangular and dotted with green trees,
providing some shade from the wall of sun.
It is warmer here
And it's nice and cool
You walk over the stone floor
Which is smooth and neat
On the streets outside
The particular
Upper floor
With its ancient timbers exposed
Beautiful sense
As you peering through the window
You see this shop
Has neat little shelves
Stacked with handmade soaps
rows upon rows
of these little rectangles
in every colour of the rainbow
are here
with the colours so bright
you decide to go inside
the sweet smells
inside next to a zingy
lemon yellow
and the delicate
and earth
there is one cent
that you keep catching
one that is drawing you closer
you come closer
and you can smell a strong
rich aroma in front of you
and the rich and woody scent
fills you with joy.
Its sandalwood
possibly have been familiar
to the people of medieval
Caucason
just as it is today.
You decide to buy this soap
and you take it over to the shop owner
who carefully packages
and wraps this beautiful
item for you.
They wrap it in their hand-printed paper,
knit with a sticker,
and put it in a shop paper bag for you.
Take your leave of the shop.
As you step outside,
the air feels light and breezy.
After the intense and intoxicating aromas
from within the soap shop,
you look around you
and you can sense the history,
encompassing you as you continue your walk in front of you, you see a tall stone building.
Quite plain, intricately carved series of concentricentric archers above the old.
Even tall, you circle around to the east to see more.
See the ornate stonework, an intricate stained glass windows of a church.
It's the Basinic Saint-Nazir, nestled in the south-west corner of the city, with its colourful and intricate stained glass windows, topped with Gothic arches, and its turrets and buttresses, carved with intricate stonework. You decide to step inside, push open the wooden door,
and see that you immediately feel caught, which seems dark at first, going outside.
But your eyes quickly adjust, and you are able to take in the beauty and majesty.
It seems so quiet and peaceful here.
A place of reflection and contemplation.
You decide to sit on a bench for a while.
As you sit, you begin to observe your surroundings.
The vaulted ceilings are so high
And the carved stone and woodwork
Supporting the roof
Are so ancient
The history of this old building
Is written through its architecture
To the elegant and pointed
Gothic arches
Towards the back
You decide to walk to the back of the church
Towards the choir
Semi Circular Alcove
is adorned with nine of the most beautiful stained glass
when different are so vivid.
So striking, ruby reds, with colours dancing across.
This sacred spade.
You notice the beautiful rose window
that you glimpsed from outside, inside.
You can see the detail on the colours,
so clearly the intricate stonework frame. You place some corner the bustling streets. You follow the
street, heading northwest from the, and as you stroll along, you pass more pretty buildings.
A patchwork of beautiful features as beautiful bright blue shutters, closed to keep the heat out of the
summer sun. Another with intricate iron work on the door. You see an explosion of bright pink.
A beautiful bog and vineyard is climbing over the windows and door of an old house.
The window boxes there are a riot of colour full of geraniums. The whole place seems so inviting.
and as you get closer
you see that next door
is a small cafe courtyard
the top is covered
with lush green vines
providing shade from the hot sun above
you can smell
delicious food
coming from the kitchen
freshly baked baguettes
and buttery pastries
are wafting along the air
sit at a cozy table and order a refreshing drink sitting here and watching the world go by.
You soak up the history around you on these streets which have barely changed over the century
you have been sitting. You realise that the sun has started to set. The blazing intensity of the day
has cooled and the sun is low on the horizon fiery orange glow
shimmering in the distance you enjoy your drink
and take in the beautiful nature
the lovely scenes hustle and after a little while finish your dream
you say thank you to the waiting staff leave your comfortable spot
heading north
those streets
passing more
cafes and shops
you glance at the window
of a patissiere
and see a selection
of the most beautiful
pastries and cakes
a work of art
and perfectly finished
the street
the sky has now
started to transition
from deep
orange
to inky
with odd stars
restaurants
with their tables and chairs
neatly placed
on the cobblestone floor
of each restaurant
are painted in different
and bright colours
with some blues
festoon nights
are fastened between the trees
giving this square
a vibrant
there is a buzz of chatter in the air.
You can hear voices in so many languages.
You can smell the delicious food being served.
With the atmosphere being so lively
and yet so relaxed in the tables and chairs,
you had down a small,
medieval buildings ever so slightly towards,
each other above you pass.
You find yourself on a street.
He almost feel.
A chocolatier and a bar.
The street, the street gently curves.
And as you follow this curve,
a huge building begins to come into view.
Much taller than the surrounding buildings.
It has three terracotta pyramid-shaped roofs.
this must be the historical Portnabonais.
The main gate to the old city,
defence of the entrance,
set against a deep thousands of twinkling stars.
This gate looks so majestic and romantic
through the middle of this grand building
is an arch tunnel leading out of the city
through the archway
and into a small courtyard.
And you can see the gate in it all consists of two giant towers
are scored in the stonework,
used in medieval times,
to shoot arrows through, left and right.
A pleasant pathway between the inner and outer walls
extends into the distance.
It looks in light.
but you decide to exit through the outer gate instead.
You cross the courtyard and over and over and find yourself in the open air and in the modern world.
The night skies go on seemingly forever above the distant trees and vineyards of the land dock rolling away into the distance.
The outline of the Perinese mountain range is just about visible on the far horizon.
You take a seat on a comfortable bench and enjoy the warmth of the air
and the feeling of contentment around you.
You feel so calm.
You feel so comfortable and relaxed.
So peaceful.
As you drift into a peaceful, blissful sleep.
Thank you.
