Tonight's episode is a sleep talk down for anxiety.
This session is for you if you're tired, but your mind simply cannot stop.
If you've been lying here for a while now, feeling that restless feeling that so many of us know,
then this session is made exactly for you.
I'm going to talk to you tonight and I'm going to stay right here with you
and together we're going to gently, slowly bring that busy mind all the way.
down to sleep.

And let's begin.
I want to start tonight by simply acknowledging where you are right now.
Because I know what it feels like.
To be tired and yet completely unable to sleep.
Your body is exhausted.
You can feel that.
your eyes are heavy
your limbs feel dull and slow
and every part of you
is ready for rest
and yet the mind keeps going
it keeps pulling you back
thoughts arriving one after another
things you said
things that you need to do
things that you are worried about
and things that feel unresolved.
And the more you try to stop thinking,
the louder the thoughts seem to get.
And then comes the frustration,
and maybe a little despair.
Why can't I just switch off?
Why can't I just sleep?
Like a normal person,
I want you to know something.
What do you are experiencing?
is one of the most common and most human experiences there is.
The IT is a way of saving itself at bedtime, for the quiet moments where there is nothing left to distract us from it.
It does not mean anything is wrong with you.
It means you or a person who cares deeply.
cares deeply, who thinks deeply, whose mind is working very hard on your behalf, even when
you wish, it would just stop, so tonight we are not going to fight the mind, we are not
going to force it into silence. Instead, I'm simply going to
to talk to you.
And as I talk,
it's going to find something
to rest on. It's my voice.
And as it rests on my voice,
your mind is going to slow down.
Naturally and gently,
you don't have to do anything tonight.
This time
is just for you.
You don't have to try.
You don't have to succeed
at anything.
all you have to do is lie there and listen, and I will do the rest.
So let's begin.
Firstly, I want you to take a slow breath,
in through your nose.
As you do, just allow your body to soften very slowly.
Not a big effort, just a little softening,
like something inside of you is saying,
Okay, I'm listening
I'm here
Please bring your attention
To the top of your head
Your body
Your mind has been working very hard today
Again tomorrow
It doesn't need to be anywhere
And so gently
Without any effort
I want you to let your attention
Drift downward
Away from that busy
looping place behind your eyes and down into the physical reality of your body lying here in this bed.
That physical, real present weight with the pressure of the mattress beneath you.
You are here, right here, in this body, and this body is safe.
This badder, you are safe
There is nothing here
And just remember
This time is for you
Whatever is worrying you
You will still be there tomorrow
If it needs to be
And tomorrow you can deal with it
Because you always do
But it does not need you right now
Right now you can set it down
And let's breathe together again
Breathing in slowly through your nose,
finning your belly first,
then your chest,
and breathe out through your mouth,
long and slow,
letting the breath trail out completely,
emptying all the way to the end.
Good and again.
Breathe in, slow and deep,
and breathe.
out even slower, even longer. Let everything rather whatever you've been holding. Let it go
with the exhale. Breathe in. Filling the belly upwards and breathe out. In the side of that
exhale. Feel your body sink just a little deeper into the mattress beneath you. You feel so
good and you're doing so wonderful. You're breathing on its own. The next. The next thing,
The natural rhythm of it, just noticing the gentle rise of your chest or belly.
As the air comes in, your breathing knows exactly and your body knows exactly.
How to do this.
You don't have to manage it or think about it.
And your body is feeling so relaxed.
And you're feeling so relaxed.
Throughout your body, relaxation.
Becoming clear.
Looking down into the bed, you notice your mind and body relaxing,
you notice your thoughts going into calm,
and you just acknowledge the present reality
of simply being alive,
simply breathing here and now.
You will be coming a little more, a little bit more present,
a little further away from the busy world of thought and closer to destiny.
I'm going to talk you down through,
your body from the top of your head to the very tips of your toes.
And as I visit each part of your body, I want you to imagine that my voice is like a warm,
gentle hand resting on each area, not doing anything, not pushing or forcing.
just resting there
and beneath
that gentle presence
each muscle
each fibre
each tiny
little bit of held tension
simply just let's go
and becomes more alive
so let's begin at the top
your scalp is
the skin across the top of your head
so many of us hold tension here,
without ever realising it,
a tightening,
a subtle gripping,
and as I bring your awareness here now,
perhaps you can feel it,
and perhaps you can now feel it,
the scalp releasing,
that relaxation feeling spreading,
soothing out the lines in the forehead,
that place between your eyebrows
where worry
likes to live
is relaxing now
the little furrow
that appears when you're thinking hard
or trying to work something out
smoothly, letting go completely
flat, soft and still
there is nothing to work out tonight
there is nothing to worry about
tonight. Soft stillness
does your fall into your eyes, letting them become completely still.
No searching, just resting.
Soften and spread and all those tiny little delicate muscles.
Simply release your cheeks, your jaw.
Tension going from your jaw just goes as the jaw decalcunchy.
declension, whatever happens, everything is good.
And your neck relaxes, the back of your neck.
Let's go on all those muscles that have been holding your head upright all day long.
They can fully let go now.
Your pillow is doing all the work.
Your neck muscles are simply not needed tonight.
Just let them release and feel them softening on either side of.
of your spine and across the back of your neck and your shoulders drop.
You just let go of it now.
Extra release.
Just let them drop and fall towards the mattress.
Just let go completely as you sink down.
Exhale, that's good.
You feel so good and you feel relaxed.
You feel the weight of them go and your hands and your fingers,
letting them lie open and loose.
heavy and warm
and your heart expands
and you realise that you are safe tonight
leaves you
and your heart beats slow
and steady
settling into a calm
steady rhythm
and steady
as your heart knows you are safe
as your stomach
you feel so good
and the feeling moves down to your stomach
all muscles relaxing here
all anxiety
and stress going
so you can do those deep slow breath
little muscles around your spine
the physical weight of the day
you let it soften onto the mattress beneath you
and you feel the mattress completely supporting
and just sink
letting its weight support you in the mouth
and melt as you're completely surrendered
to the support beneath you
those thighs as they become loose
just relax just releases now
draining down.
You feel so good.
Your whole body
feel so good.
You just like,
you're so relaxed.
You're so good.
And slowly move me
across the night sky.
Warm and heavy
and safe in this bed.
Listening to my voice
and going deeper
and deeper towards sleep.
I want to talk
to that part of you
that is still away.
Your subconscious mind.
That part
that is still scanning.
and checking and worry.
The part that has been on guard all day
and doesn't quite know how to stop.
I see you and I know why you're here.
You're here because you care
because you're trying to protect the person you love the most,
which is yourself,
because you should love yourself.
You've been working so hard to keep everything together.
to stay on top of everything, to manage and to plan and anticipate.
I want to say something to you directly.
You have done enough today.
Whatever happened today.
Whatever went well.
And whatever didn't.
And whatever you're not sure about, you showed up.
You got through it and that's enough.
You will always be enough.
The things on your mind.
right now. The unfinished things, the uncertain things. They're things you're not sure how to
handle. They're real. And I'm not asking you to pretend that they aren't there. But here is
what I want you to consider. You cannot solve them tonight. Not from this bed. Not in this
stink of exhaustion. The best thing you can do for every single one of those problems.
And every single one of those worries is to sleep deeply tonight so that tomorrow you can wake up with a clear mind and a rested body.
Because sleep is so much. Sleep is not avoiding things. It's preparing things.
And sleep is the most productive thing you can do right now. And as your mind clears, you'll soon drift off to sleep.
You'll soon go into a deep sleep.
peaceful sleep, dreams you remember, or experience, you can pick everything up, you can rejoin
what you need to do tomorrow. Because this time is the just slightly you notice it. There's a small
release somewhere in the body as these words. Land and can be exhal of something that has been held
for a long time as good. You feel so good. As you breathe in slowly,
breathe out, just go out a little deep because you are safe, because right here and right now in this moment.
You are completely safe as there is nothing coming for you tonight.
There is nothing you need to defam.
The door is locked and the world is outside and in here.
There is only more than softness.
And my voice gently talking you all the way down to service system is beginning to believe this now.
You can feel it, that subtle shift from alert to ease, from bracing to releasing and from awake to beautifully, deeply drowsy.
Because you like to embrace it, like, you're safe here, you can as you drift into this beautiful drowsy state to offer your subconscious minds some gentle truths to carry into sleep with you.
Simply out of your mind does not need to solve everything tonight and sleep is safe for you
and you awake every morning feeling calm.
Your body knows how to heal while you sleep and as you drift now in this trillsy beautiful state
I want to offer your subconscious mind some gentle truths to carry into sleep with you.
You don't need to think about them.
Simply allow them to drift down.
settling softly. Like leaves falling onto still water, so say to yourself, I am allowed to rest.
My mind does not need to solve everything tonight.
Sleep is safe for me. I wake up each morning calmer than the night before, and my body knows how to
heal while I sleep, and I'm doing better than I think I am. Tomorrow I will handle what needs to be
handled. But tonight I will simply rest. I am safe in my body. Safe in my mind and I am safe in this moment.
Stress and anxiety doesn't define me. Thinking doesn't define me. It's a simple feeling as
feelings past. Healing sleep. Those words subtle now call into the deepest part of you.
