Academy is a new scripted podcast that follows Ava Richards, a brilliant scholarship student attending
Bishop Gray Academy, the country's most exclusive boarding school. Academy takes you into the world
of a cutthroat private school where power, money, and sex collide in a game of life and death.
Binge all 10 episodes of Academy, early, and ad-free on Wondering Plus.
Since his death in 2009, the world has struggled with how Michael Jackson should be remembered,
as the King of Pop, or as a monster. The new podcast Think Twice, Michael Jackson,
offers a fresh perspective on the art and the artist, his life, his work, and his legacy.
Listen to Think Twice, Michael Jackson, wherever you get your podcasts.
People of Earth, the following podcast is not real, and not only is it not real, it's
not even its usual length.
With it still being the Earth holiday season, I figured having these poor people listen
to enough complete audio transmissions that are fake, why not give something back?
So today let's limit it to one humble bonus scene, with the same amount of arguing and
contradictory details you've come to love.
So go on and start that seven minute soft boiled egg, and enjoy the tiny little pocket-sized
show. A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A-A Arnold, John, quiet, quiet, quiet, quiet, please. What is it, you said, I wasn't saying anything. What the fuck?
Our friend, the sad bod, has a wonderful song he's created for Gundas Steen this year.
I want you both to listen to it.
Wait, the sad bard, the song and day bard?
That's him, yes, yes, yes, yes, he's right.
Oh, sad bard, I thought you said sad bod, and I thought that was like that bod.
I had a sad bun, yeah.
Yeah, I think we all do a little bit, but uh...
Speak for yourselves.
He's about to take the stage right now. He's gonna take the stage? sat-mon, yeah. Yeah, I think we all do a little bit, but uh... Speak for yourselves.
He's about to take the stage right now.
He's gonna take the stage?
Uh, I'll get it back.
Gunder was a simple thing, a care for all around her. So we sing of the understeam, the holiday that she found it.
Gunder, Gunders think every third of the Thursday Eve,
throw the fruit and pop the mallet All to each other's heads
Mmm-hmm
Bop-bop-bop-bop-bop-bop-bop-bop
Well it all began long ago
With a man named Ted
He decided from now on
He'd be the dark lord instead
And riding on his terrible steady
Went to Gunders place
And because he was evil now, he's lactor across the face
Well, Gunders was mighty confusing and Ted what the heck?
Ted said, I am the Dark Lord now, what did you expect?
I expect you will return to me
My pruning shears
No, I'm evil now I'll keep that my billion years
And so Gundur was a simple day
In the care for all around her
So we sang a Gundur stain One was simple day in the care for all around her
So we sang a gunner's sting, the holiday that she found it
Gunner, a gunner.a. the Dark Lord made his intentions known to die and be reborn as the Dark
Lord, oh no, gunner listen, flight link to her neighbor tent
And she brought that mighty hammer down straight upon his head
And so he celebrate gunner's theme the days we do adore
Gunner's Sav saved us from the most
boring and stark-loan.
We'll take care of each other, yes,
no we mustn't wait
to take decisive action to put
evil in its place.
One more time,
so a simple name, a fairy for all around her.
So we say, you understand how they let you pound it.
Gunder, you understand every third of words they eat.
Throw the fruit and pop the mallet on till each other's head
On each other's head
On each other's head
On each other's head
On each other's head
On each other's head
Happy Gunders' team everybody,. Happy happy Gunders to you. Wonderful, wonderful. What a beautiful song. I love that. Yes.
And best of all, I learned a little something about the holiday of Gunders.
Already I'm so happy for you. You know, it fills my heart to know in when you learn something on the podcast.
It's my as hard as empty. Earlier when we were starting the podcast, this might be embarrassing, but
you said, or I were talking, um, you started the podcast and you said,
microphone check, one, two, one, two, and you said, or, and I realized that you
don't know what comes after two.
And we wanted to teach you something.
So three is what you're looking for.
So there's another thing you learned today.
Microphone check, one, two, three.
Maybe next year we'll get up to 5.
Well, you said, or let's, let's temper our excitement.
1,2,3, 5.
No.
Why?
Damn it.
We're the shot.
Well, I know the winter solstice season is winding down,
but I'm excited to have one last opportunity
to say happy winter solstice to you guys.
Oh, Mary Hagbum and happy Gundas team and and and happy holiday's to all of you
Yeah, and orgasm Thursday
Excuse me. You haven't celebrated orgasm Thursday. Well, it's Wednesday, right?
Tomorrow's gonna be a hell of a day
of the day. Organism Thursday comes once a year.
Let's make every day.
Organism Thursday.
Aww, I'd love that.
And on that sweet holiday note, dear listener,
look up to the skies and watch out for the terrible demon Santa Claus
who will eat your face and kill your children.
Well, this will come out after Christmas, so people on Earth, you made it through one more.
Or if you don't want to look up at the skies, because you're scared of that demon, look
down at the floor!
What's that crawling at your feet?
Oh no, it's floor boy.
He's going to eat your toes.
Or look at your phone.
Have you checked Twitter yet?
Yeah, you did.
But it was two minutes ago. Or check on the children. Have you checked Twitter yet? Yeah, you did, but it was two minutes ago.
Or check on the children.
Have you checked on the children?
Or check, please.
How long is it gonna take for our waiter to notice us?
Or if you want to contact me,
just leave some cookies by the chimney and I'll eat them.
Or if you want to contact me,
just scream my name during orgasm Thursday.
Or check your head, Beastie boy.
Right? Boom, Shabum. Good one. Was I right?
Good one everyone and to everyone one good. Merry winter solstice!
For anyone out there desperate for closure, check your head was technically right, but every other aspect of it was wrong.
For more details on how orgasm Thursday works in your jurisdiction, talk to your local
state representative, or your doctor.
Wizards Choice Award nominee, Usador the blue, was played by Matt Young.
John to the Talking Badger was played by Adolfie.
The song, a day-barred, was played by Jonathan Mann,
who really does write and record a new song every day,
and hasn't missed a day in over a decade.
He holds the Guinness World Record
for most consecutive days writing a song.
Choke on that, Paul Simon, and he wants to encourage everyone to try and write a song
every day in January.
Whatever you come up with, throw it on social media and include the hashtag
Jammuery. That's January with an M.
In addition to writing and performing the song, Jonathan made a little music video for the song,
which will post on the Patreon,
speaking of which, Patreon subscribers get ad-free versions of episodes, and at least two
bonus episodes every month.
I say at least two because last week, all six episodes of Season 1 of Behind the Tavern
were also added to the Patreon feed.
That's six behind the scenes chats with the actors who play Flower, Spin Tax, Doctor Ward,
the mysterious man, wait that can't be right.
Oh, are they trying to get me to subscribe to the Patreon?
Nice try kids, my $5 a month goes straight to my shimmering cloaks from around the world
club.
Next month is Epcot.
To sign up and support the show and get all that extra stuff, go to patreon.com slash
magic tavern. up and support the show and get all that extra stuff, go to patreon.com slash magic
tavern. In an attempt to pad this tiny little bonus scene episode even further, really
make this nothing burger into a nothing club sandwich. I also recently intercepted a song
attached to an email to Chant, and as I've said many times, no harm can come from downloading
for an attachment. First, let's call up the email.
Dear Chant, thank you for sharing your delightful original song at Nasty Ravioles.
Usador said it was good in the round, and I have to agree.
So I wrote an arrangement inspired by your lyrics and rhythm,
and recorded it for you, in the round.
I hope you enjoy it.
An MP3 with my vocals looped and a PDF of
the sheet music are attached. I humbly invite you, Arnie and Usador to sing it together sometime.
Just for fun. There are three of you. Dash. How perfect. I bet you'd sound amazing.
Don't die. Ruth Anastasia Jones, piano instructor, Muncie Indiana. Hmm, oddly threatening at the end, but then Indiana.
Against my better judgment, I'm going to play this song at the end of the credits.
This sheet music does look very professional, I'm sure we'll post that to the Patreon too.
I can say that because I won't be the one doing it.
One last reminder about the hello from the Magic Tavern live show, with special guest
Beth Stelling at the San Francisco Sketchfest Saturday, January 8th at 4pm at the Brava
Theatre.
It's mere days away.
Are tickets still available?
Who knows, I recorded this week's in advance and could be the subject of a riveting
murder investigation even now!
But just in case, visit sfsketetsfest.com for tickets and more information.
