Do you want to reach your full potential, live a life of passion, go after your dreams?
Each week we bring you strategies and interviews to help you ignite your mindset.
Let's bring on Sindra.
It's time for High Performance Mindset today with Dr. Sindra Kampoff in studio with us. Good morning, Sindra. Good morning. It's great to be here. Good to have you in today. It's an exciting
week for you, I know, and we're going I know. I'm geeked out about Thursday.
I know. We're going to talk a whole bunch more about that big book release party here in the Mankato area coming up.
Before that, we're going to get into today's topic.
And this is it, right? This is your bread and butter. This is what you have been working on.
This is Sindra's Thing, the top 10 practices of the world's best.
And so we always start, as usual, with a good quote that goes of the world's best. And so we always start as usual with a good quote
that goes along with today's topic. So we'll let you go. Nothing will work unless you do.
Success comes from knowing that you did your best to become the best you are capable of being
by John Wooden. All right. And this all coincides with, I've seen many posts on this already,
a workshop that you have going on right now, a video as a matter of fact.
Yeah, so there's several free videos that you can actually go to and find.
It's at beyondgrit.com and they have PDFs.
The PDF that we're going to talk about today is actually on there.
And so I thought I'd give you a snapshot today of the 10 practices of the world's best
and just give you a little bit more information about what that actually means and how you can apply it. All right, these top practices of high performers, which you call the world's best. And this will give you a little bit more information about what that actually means and how you can apply it.
All right, these top practices of high performers,
which you call the world's best.
So tell us a little bit more about that.
So as my research as a professor,
I found that the top performers in sport, business, or life,
they all have the same mental habits.
So the way you can kind of think about it
is like great minds really do think alike.
And for all of these people,
they master the high performance mindset where they're working to be at their best purposely every day. So
it's like purposely pursuing excellence. And when we do this, we're more consistent,
we can succeed above and beyond the standard and we become gritty.
Gritty is what we're all after, I think, whether you know it or not. So
why do we want to develop these practices?
When you develop them, you become
mentally strong. So you can take control of your thoughts and your actions and really your destiny.
So you can grab a hold of the goals that you really want, no matter what's going on, and you
can overcome the odds. I think by using these 10 practices, you also realize that you can tackle
any kind of difficulties with gratitude. And these problems that you have become puzzles.
So nothing is too hard or impossible.
And you might think like, you know, mastering your mindset is like riding a bike.
That once you do it, you're always going to be great at it.
But instead, it takes constant nurturing.
And it becomes, you know, something that you just have to ongoingly work to master.
And that's why I call them practices.
Okay, I was going to say you do call them practices over something like habits or traits.
So why is that?
Yeah, I've thought a lot about this. Like, what do I want to call it? And I call it practices
because it's something that you do have to, you know, continue to work on and it requires
ongoing attention. And these practices really represent what I would describe as the psychological
profile that leads to mastery or greatness.
That's what we want.
That's what we're searching for.
Differentiates the world's best from the average.
And I've seen this in my own clients, NFL pro bowlers, leaders, CEOs, entrepreneurs.
They take effort to master and that's why they're called practices.
That makes sense.
Yeah.
I love that you have a PDF print off for us. And we're talking about the practices.
You've got 10 practices.
Why don't you tell us what they are?
So the top 10 practices of the world's best are the world's best are gritty.
They are clear on their purpose.
They become a master of their thoughts.
They know themselves to master themselves.
They dominate the controllables.
They own the moment.
They choose empowering emotions.
And they own who they are.
They live and let go and they choose their courage zone. My book actually coming out on Thursday is called Beyond Grit because the first practice is grit. And it's, you know, you want to cultivate
your grit, but there's nine more traits. And I think if you just only focus on one, then you get
in your own way and lots of other ways. So many other facets.
Which one's your favorite to talk about?
Probably mastering your thoughts.
Okay.
And I would say that because really what I mean by mastering your thoughts is the world's
best are intentional with their self-talk.
They talk to themselves, not listen, which is something we've talked about on here before.
And they work to have powerful and positive and possibility-oriented thoughts.
And it's my favorite to talk about because I think that a lot of people really struggle with it.
And we can be our own worst enemy, right?
Like we're the only person that gets in our way.
So that's why it's one of my favorites because I think people are searching for what am I supposed to do with this six inches between my ears?
And what am I supposed to do with my thoughts?
So what do you think that most people struggle with, according to, I mean, falling into one of these 10? Yeah, I would say probably own
the moment. And so what I mean by own the moment, yeah, for sure, is just saying present moment
focused and, you know, recognizing you can't control the past or the future. And so it's really
important to let go of the past and learn from it, but work to stay in the moment.
And I think that's actually when we're at our best
is when we work to be in the moment.
And our mind isn't designed
for peak performance or happiness.
And so that's why mastering your thoughts
and working to stay in the moment is so important
because you can easily kind of live
in the past or the future.
All right, so I talked about this PDF.
Where do folks get this PDF?
So you can go to beyondgrit.com and that's actually where the videos are All right. So I talked about this PDF. Where do folks get this PDF? So you can go to beyondgrit.com
and that's actually where
the videos are at right now.
And then you can download
this pretty sweet looking
top 10 practices of high performers.
A lot of people actually have that.
I was like, this would be a good one
laminated and hung up somewhere.
Absolutely.
Yeah.
A lot of people have it
by their computer
or somewhere that they can see it
every day just to kind of check in, see where they're at and what they need to work on today.
I am having a moment here where I'm realizing after listening to podcasts, when you're
interviewing the world's best at what they do and you ask them in your podcast, you're
always asking them what is the one thing they think they are good at in this list of 10.
Many of the times they say, oh, I'm gritty. I'm gritty. I'm definitely gritty. Most of the time I think they do that.
And then I just realized, well, of course, lots of people are gritty. Now they got to get working
on all the other stuff, right? Yeah. There's very few that come in and say, well, I do this.
But then you always ask them, which one do you think you could work on? And then there's one
in there somewhere, but yeah. And most people realize that they are not perfect at all of
these 10. I'm not every single day.
Right.
So that's why it's like
continuously working
on your mindset.
That's why it's a practice.
That's why it's a practice.
Exactly.
All right.
So how do we,
this is awesome
and it's great.
People,
I hope people will go
and download this.
This is something teachers
could hang up in the classroom.
Employers can hang up at work.
You could hang up
in the bathroom next to your mirror
if you want to
and just read through them
every morning.
And it's right there for download from the website. So how do we summarize all of this today? And then we'll get into the book stuff. So high performers, those
people who are working to reach their greater potential, they work to develop these 10 key
practices that will help them overcome the odds, live with purpose, and live the big life that you
were intended to do. They go after their big dreams, stay gritty,
and master their mindset along the way.
Nice.
And then we always have a power phrase to wrap up with here,
and we have another one for you today.
I master my mindset.
I own my dreams.
I think and act like the world's best.
All right.
And speaking of dreams, dream come true.
On Thursday, the book will finally be released to the public here in Mankato.
Give us the details on book release and where it's at.
So I'd love for people to come to the Verizon Center this Thursday night.
The party is from 530 to 730 with a short program at 615.

And we're just going to celebrate because this did take a long time to complete.
And I'm so proud of how easy it is to read and how
user friendly it is and just how I know
it will help people's lives.
Thank you for letting us be along on the ride.

up then or would you like them to RSVP
