Welcome to High Performance Mindset with Dr. Sindra Kampoff.
Do you want to reach your full potential, live a life of passion, go after your dreams?
Each week we bring you strategies and interviews to help you ignite your mindset.
Let's bring on Sindra.
So we're talking about the power of our words.
All those things that I just said. Exactly. Exactly. So why, what inspired this topic today?
Well, what inspired this topic is I've been working a lot on my own words, how I describe my experiences, both like the great ones and the failures and just how I'm explaining situations that I'm in.
And I can tell it makes a really big difference.
And I think when people do this with whoever's listening, I think you take things less personally.
You engage in less victim language and you're just more excited throughout your day.
All right.
So you usually start with kind of a quote for us.
This is a quote by Robin Sharma.
He said, words can inspire and words can destroy.
Choose yours well.
All right.
Take all of that back.
I'm going to have a fantastic, healthy cruise.
Exactly.
There we go.
So I think it's becoming evident.
But why is this important to us?
I think because what comes out of our mouth comes into existence.
And what you speak can become reality.
So our words are so important because
we're always listening to them. And we have to be careful with our words because what we think
about ourselves, we ultimately become. Is this like my husband told me it's my fault that he
got hurt last night because as he was leaving, I said, be careful, don't get hurt.
Yeah, right.
So you have an example for us.
I do.
You know, one of the things I say in my mind, I'm trying to catch myself, is like when I say I'm terrible at remembering people's names.
Or maybe you've ever thought of these kind of things in your own mind, like I will never be able to work at that level or there's no way that I can do that.
And we limit ourselves without sometimes really even realizing it, being consciously aware of it.
And we can play the same stories over and over again in our mind
and that just becomes our reality.
So in other words, when I miss a wide open takeout shot and curling
and amid a few curse words say,
I should probably just quit and never do this again because I'm horrible at it.
Yeah, you got to change that.
More empowering.
Stop saying that.
Because what you think about yourself,
you become, Logan.
Ruh-roh-raggy.
So, what should we do
if we want to think more powerfully?
I think the key today's
message is really about watching your words
and catching the thoughts that you have. Just being
a silent observer and remembering
you don't have to believe everything you think.
And really
choosing more empowering words to replace those disempowering words, such as, you know, there's
no way I can do this could be you got this, you know, go for it. And then the key is just to bring
your attention back to the present to focus on what you're doing. But notice those words because
they are powerful and shape your reality. I'll do a better job today. How do you summarize for us?
I'd say high performers watch their words.
They know what they think about themselves, they become,
and they condition themselves to choose more empowering words in their own mind
and the words that they say to others to help them reach their ultimate potential.
So what's our power phrase for today?
I choose empowering words in my own mind and out loud.
What I think about myself, I become.
I'm going to have a fantastic vacay.
I know.
Okay, it's going to be wonderful.
Well-deserved anyways, right?
