Dr. Cinder Kampoff joining us and we're talking about, Cinder, three powerful questions to connect
to your potential. You usually start with a quote for us. This is a quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson.
He said, the only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be.
So potential, what exactly are
we talking about today? So we're talking about this idea of potential. And you know, it's a
really interesting concept in the word. When you look up the definition in a dictionary, Lisa,
it says like existing impossibility capable of development into actuality. And so I want people
just to think about like, what is your potential?
You know, and really potential is unlimited.
It's endless.
And I feel like when I felt like I've reached my potential, I know I have more potential.
So why is it so important for us to think about our potential?
Well, potential is really about finding what is inside you. I really like this quote by Eckhart Tolle.
And he said, you do not become good by trying to be good,
but by finding the goodness that's already within you. And, you know, I think discovering your potential is really about connecting with your authentic self and not trying to be someone else.
And it's, you know, really about looking deep inside you instead of looking at for other
people's approval. And discovering your potential is really about your commitment to being your best self.
So what is the first powerful question that will help us connect with our potential?
So I'd ask people to think about what is given in your way of your unlimited potential. And when
people, I've asked people that question, they sometimes say, well, maybe it's a lack of a clear
direction of where I want to go,
or what my potential is, or maybe not taking enough action, or doing something over and over again that's not working. Sometimes even they say it's our limiting beliefs, you know, beliefs that
we can't make a change, or we're not good enough, or smart enough. And we really have to be careful
what we're saying to ourselves, because we're really always listening to what we say to ourselves.
So if what is getting in your way of your unlimited potential is the first question,
what's the second powerful question? The next question would be, what does your life look like at the next level? And this idea of like, what is the next level to you? And when you answer that
question, it gives you a good glimpse at your potential.
So maybe for you, you know,
at the next level is more fulfillment
or more happiness
or more connection with those that you love
or maybe a stronger ability to go after your goals.
And I'm going to encourage people
to picture this life at the next level in your mind first.
You know, elite athletes do this all the time,
where they imagine, you know, great results before it happens. And thinking about what your life
looks like at the next level and imagining it is a great way to connect with your potential.
Cinder, what's the third question?
So the last question is, you know, what are two or so limiting beliefs that you need to overcome
to reach your potential.
And Lisa, I'm thinking about my work as a mental performance and executive coach here.
And I think that limiting beliefs are one of the top barriers to people's potentials.
And, you know, beliefs are just generalizations that we make.
And I think we need to remember that we can control what we believe.
You know, most of our thinking is just automatic and habitual.
And we're really the only person that controls what we believe.
And so the key is to write those limiting beliefs down.
You know, we all have these limiting beliefs.
And then decide what you want to believe instead.
And start conditioning yourself to believe these new beliefs that are getting in your way of your unlimited potential.
How do you summarize potential for us today?
So, Lisa, I'd say, you know, the world's best are in pursuit of their potential,
and your potential is unlimited, it's endless,
and you can connect with your potential by considering, you know,
what's getting in your way of your unlimited potential,
you know, getting clarity on what that next level of your potential looks like,
and by identifying and addressing
these limited beliefs that are getting in our way.
All right, you leave us with a power phrase every week
that's going to help us through.
Yes, it's this one.
I am in search of my unlimited potential.
I am bound by no one or nothing.
