Episode Date: September 19, 2025

In this episode of the High Performance Mindset, Dr. Cindra Kamphoff shares how belief is the catalyst for breaking through limitations, using the inspiring story of Mankato East’s first win in the ...Jug Game over Mankato West in 19 years. Despite a long losing streak, the team showed up believing in a new outcome—and they made it happen. Dr. Cindra connects this story to everyday challenges we all face—whether in sports, work, or life—emphasizing that our past doesn’t define our future. She introduces the “POP the Pressure” tool to help listeners pause, see opportunity, and focus on the process when the pressure mounts. The takeaway? Change begins the moment you start believing again.   Quote of the Week: “The only thing stronger than fear is belief.” — Anonymous Power Phrase of the Week: “I don’t let the past define me—I believe in what’s possible and play like it.”   Want a breakthrough? Request your free call at freementalbreakthroughcall.com to learn how we can help you or your team build belief and confidence that sticks.

Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, friends. My name is Dr. Cindera Campoff, a national leader in the field of sport and performance psychology. How are you doing, Cinder? I'm glad to have you in. I'm so excited to be here. Thank you so much for having me today. Believe it's possible. Then go make it real. And you start us off with a quote. Let's talk about the quote today. I love this anonymous quote. And the quote is this. The only thing stronger than fear is belief. All right. What exactly does that have to do with what we're talking about today? Well, we're talking about belief and the power to break through what once felt really impossible. And whether you're trying to bounce back from a losing streak or a failed attempt or a personal setback, the truth is that nothing changes until you're
Starting point is 00:01:00 least does. Okay. So you've got a story for us, obviously. I do. And let's talk about what happened right here in our own backyard. This past weekend, Mancato East beat Mancato West in the Jug game for the first time in 19 years. Just pretty crazy for nearly two decades, the trophy went to West. And that's a long streak, Lisa. Like, honestly, a really heavy mental load for the Mancato East team. But this year, Mancato East, you know, showed up ready, believing that they could win. And they didn't let the past to take their performance. They focused on the moment. I saw them playing with their heart and they rewrote the story. And this game, you know, wasn't just about a win on the scoreboard. It was really a masterclass in belief because no matter, you know, how long a streak last,
Starting point is 00:01:44 it only takes one game, one decision, one play, one shift in believing to end it. Well, I got to say a super congratulations to you because I know you're not going to say this yourself, but your son was actually named Player of the Game and you're working with the team this year with all of these things that you and I talk about on the radio. Yes, it was very cool. He had an amazing game, and Lisa, one of my favorite things, you know, you never know if your own kid is listening to you, but one of the things that I talk about is a concept by a legendary sports psychologist named Ken Revisza, where you have your stoplight,
Starting point is 00:02:17 where you perform at your best in your green light, which green light means peak performance. And he had this green dot right on his wrist. And when he was introduced in the game, he showed the cameraman his green dot. and pointed to it. And I was like, that's when you know, you know, my purpose to serve when your own son is using the tools. That's amazing. And congratulations. This is cool. And, you know, as I watching this and listening to this, you know, what does it have to do with us? I'm not playing football and trying to compete at that level that those kids did. So what does it have to do with the everyday person? Awesome. Great question. I say, you know, that we all have streaks in our life. And
Starting point is 00:02:55 maybe you've been stuck in a cycle of self-doubt, or maybe you've lost more than you've won lately at work or in a relationship or even in your own mindset. I think the truth is, Lisa, that past outcomes don't define future potential. And the moment you start believing again, you know, everything changes. And so just like the team we're talking about Mankato East, you can rewrite your own scoreboard. So what can we do with that whole idea? You know, you always have tools for us to use, like the green dot. Exactly. So the tool I want to talk about today is something I teach called pop the pressure. And this is a tool I was teaching the team. And especially when the weight of history or expectations, you know, feels too heavy,
Starting point is 00:03:33 what's important to do is pop the pressure. And pop just stands for an acronym POP. And this is what you can do to pop the pressure and get back to the belief. Pete, the first key stands for just take a pause and just take a breath. You get back to the moment and don't let the weight of the moment control you. O stands for opportunity. And that's like, what's the opportunity right now? Because there's always an opportunity that you can look for, like, in the moment. And that way you're not so future-oriented. And then P stands for the process.
Starting point is 00:04:03 And the process is just the small steps you can take to implement your goals. So you want to stay focused on what you can control, your effort, your focus, your heart. And so pop the pressure just reminds you that belief isn't just a feeling. It's a choice you can make under pressure. Pop the pressure. I like that. Can you summarize it for us today? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Lisa, here is what I'd say today's takeaway. You know, that belief is how streaks end. And you're not stuck unless you stop believing change is possible. So whether it's been 19 years or nine months or nine days, your breakthrough starts with your belief. And what is our power phrase this week? I don't let the path define me. I believe in what's possible and play like it. Well, and it looks like congrats going out to Mancato East. They certainly did. Sendry, if people want to get in touch with you, follow along with your teachings, maybe read one of your books. where do they need to go? Absolutely.
