Starting point is 00:00:00 Hi, Dr. Cinder Campoff here. Myself and my team just conducted this national research study on confidence that you have to check out. The report which you can download at Confidencestudy.com shows research-backed ways you can grow your confidence. What leaders do to both kill and grow confidence and how confidence is not just a personal issue, but an organizational issue. I'm telling you, you've got to check this out. It's a game changer. You can find our full report at Confidencestudy.com. It's time to check in with Cindera Campoff, and we talked to Cinderra today. Once again about confidence. We're kind of sticking on the confidence theme with the confidence study that they have out. We've got eight confidence accelerators. What should leaders do? Sandra, start us off with a quote.
Starting point is 00:00:46 Confidence isn't built by chance. It's built by leadership behaviors repeated every single day. So we are talking about the other side of the confidence conversation, not what breaks confidence, but actually what helps to build it, specifically, what? What builds it at work? Exactly. And, you know, Lisa, in our national research study on confidence, we asked employees a really powerful question, and we ask them, what do leaders do that most strengthens your confidence at work? And their answers are remarkably consistent.
Starting point is 00:01:15 All right. And these aren't, like, flashy leadership hacks or anything? Not at all. You know, one of these are really, really none of them are groundbreaking ideas, but they're, you know, not consistently practiced when they are, you know, that makes a difference. And so leaders who do these things well, their teams are more engaged, more productive, and more innovative. All right. So what did employees say to you that were the biggest confidence accelerators, things that helped them? Absolutely. So we identified eight confidence accelerators. And these are things that leaders can do at work to grow confidence of their employees.
Starting point is 00:01:49 And here are the eighth. They set achievable goals, number one. Number two, they recognize achievements. number three, they foster a supportive work environment. Number four, they offer opportunities for learning and development. Number five, they remove toxic employees and behavior. Number six, they delegate to empower employees in general. And number seven, they embrace failure as part of growth. And number eight is they model authenticity instead of pretending to have all the answers. So these are the things that we want leaders to do to really grow confidence of their employees.
Starting point is 00:02:23 Well, that actually sounds like the boss everybody wants. to have, like the best boss that most of us have ever had. Exactly. When you think back to the leaders who made the biggest impact for you, you know, they didn't just manage your work, but they really built your belief. And then there's a statistic that really jumped out, a statistic that's eye-opening. Absolutely. It was really eye-opening.
Starting point is 00:02:43 We found that 63% of working Americans told us that they would take a lower-paying job just to work for a leader who actively builds their confidence. And so this really tells us that confidence-building leadership is really career-defining, and it needs to be a priority for the leaders who are listening. And so what is the action step for leaders that are listening right now? Ask yourself this. Which of these eight confidence accelerators are you practicing consistently? And then which one could you strengthen and just start today? And really these small leadership shifts really create big confidence gains, and that's what you want to remember. Well, confidence doesn't happen by accident. We've talked about that.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Yes, it happens through leadership and on purpose. All right. Do you have a power phrase for us today? You bet great leaders don't just manage work. They multiply confidence. And if people want to learn more about your study that came out, what do we need to do, the National Research Study on Confidence?
