It's time for High Performance Mindset with Dr. Sindra Kampoff. Good morning, Sindra. Good morning. It's great to be here this Monday morning. I think there's a lot of people that are thinking, I sure would like to be anywhere but where I need to get up and go to today. Right here under the covers would feel pretty good.
Starting point is 00:00:52 Just one of those kind of days and a lot of late starts going on. So I'm glad you were able to make it. We're talking about the best in the world today. What do you mean? All right, I'm going to start with a quote. Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers. It's a quote by Tony Robbins. Okay. We've all heard of Tony Robbins before. So I'm going to start with kind of my aha moment and why I chose this topic for today. So I love listening to podcasts in my car, and I drive at least an hour each week, sometimes more,
Starting point is 00:01:18 and listening to podcasts as I drive doesn't require any extra time. So I heard one person call this like net time, no extra time where you can better yourself and you can learn. And so a few weeks ago, I was listening to Amy Porterfield's podcast, and she was interviewing a woman named Maureen Forleo, who has her own show and a successful online program called B-School. And they were talking about asking yourself high-value questions that bring value to yourself and your business and your life instead of asking low-value questions. Okay, so that's really the topic of today, asking ourselves high-value questions. And one of the questions Marie suggested asking yourself regularly was this one. What behaviors would you be doing if you were the best in the world at what you do? Oh, that's a good question.
Starting point is 00:02:01 So let me say it again. What behaviors would you be doing if you were the best in the world at what you do? And so I was driving, and it kind of just hit me in the gut. And I was thinking about myself, you know, am I really doing what the best in the world would do? And I kind of turned off the podcast and just kind of sat there for a few minutes and really thought about myself. And then I've been using it ever since. All right. So what did you do?
Starting point is 00:02:25 So I got home, and I wrote the question on three sticky notes. So I wrote it on my desk and by my bedside and in my car. And I've been using it daily ever since. So what I've noticed is just in a few weeks, it's really kind of helped me level up my effort, produce better work, be happier, just kind of decide to think like the best in the world. Okay. So, you know, other than being happier and all of that, how has it helped you along the way here over this amount of time? Well, this morning, I didn't want to get up. I thought, well, what would the best in the world do? Okay. They'd get up with passion and excitement and they would get out of bed
Starting point is 00:03:00 right away. Right? Even if they lost an hour of sleep? Even if they lost an hour of sleep. If I didn't want to go for a run this week and Saturday, I had to run a really hard run. So I thought, well, what would the world's best marathoner do? Okay. They would commit. They would, you know, run with their best energy, with their best commitment. When I wanted to get mad at my kids, I thought, what would the world's best parent do? Okay. They would show them love and care while guiding them. And then I was even recording my podcast earlier this week. I did a few interviews and I thought, what would the world's
Starting point is 00:03:30 best do? They would ask really good questions and be committed and engaged. So that's just the ways that it's helped me already. And so I think it's really helped me kind of level up my habits, my energy, my life. I think this one question has transformed kind of my mindset in the last couple of weeks. That's really cool. Yeah, I wanted to talk about it today. So how is or why is this type of question helpful? And if we use it in a lot of different ways, obviously sports is one way, but business, I would imagine, and just life in general. You know, I think sport, business, leadership, even parenting sometimes can mostly feel like about managing our mindset.
Starting point is 00:04:11 So asking great questions can help you transform your sport performance, your business, your life, your family. And the questions we ask, our self-talk determines our focus moment to moment. So let me give you some other examples of high value questions. And high value questions just give you value. They're empowering. So you might ask yourself, if it's not this question, maybe you can ask yourself, you know, how can I have an amazing day today? Or how can I find a great quality today in my family or in a family member or a co-worker? Or, you know, how can I increase or better someone's life today? Those will all be like high value questions because they give us energy and they're empowering compared to low-value questions that limit our thinking or value that are disempowering and sometimes can be soul-sucking. We don't even sometimes even realize we're asking these questions, such as, why did it snow in March?
Starting point is 00:04:56 Because that's just what Minnesota does in March. You never know. You never know. Or, how can I just get by today? Just getting through it. Or, you know, why does this always happen to me? Or, you know, what's going to go wrong today? Why don't I have enough blank? And so those are all kind of limit our thinking, hold us back. So you would tell us to use the same question that you use then. I would. I would say, you know, for this week, can you commit to asking yourself this question regularly? What behaviors would you be doing if you were the best in the world at what you do?
Starting point is 00:05:29 And so if you think about it, you know, that can inform how you feed your body, who you associate with, you know, what time do you get to bed? What behaviors do you do at work, you know, with your family? So then when you stop and think about it, what do you do with that from there? So I would tell you to make a list of behaviors that the best in the world would do. So think about maybe one area of your life, and this could be your sport or your business or your parenting or maybe schoolwork. And then use the question to guide your life this week. And I think like me, you'll feel a difference in commitment and energy and passion because I think we all have a desire to be be at our best consistently. I think it's an innate need we all have. So I think this question will help you do that. And I'd love to hear what you experienced this week. What outcomes you experienced? What

And they continuously push themselves and their limits. They go after their big dreams.
Starting point is 00:06:34 And each day, they work to reach their best. And they ask themselves, what would the best in the world do right now? I'm using not today, Monday again for this mantra. It's a very busy day, but I'm excited about the things that I have to do today. But there's always an affirmation that goes with the topic that we talk about in today's is? I play big. I move forward towards my dreams and goals with passion. I do what the world's best do. Excellent.
