History Hyenas with Chris Distefano and Yannis Pappas - Karl Marx & His Jewish Question | History Hyenas

Episode Date: October 1, 2026

In this episode of History Hyenas, Chrissy Chaos and Yanni Punani take a deep dive into the life, mind, and controversial writings of Karl Marx. Known primarily as the father of modern socialism, Marx...’s personal life and earlier essays reveal a far more complex—and often contradictory—figure than most history textbooks let on. The Hyenas break down Marx's famous 1844 essay, On the Jewish Question, exploring his perspective on religion, emancipation, and the economic landscape of 19th-century Europe. Plus, we look closely at his personal life: his family background, his financial struggles, and how his lived experiences shaped the theories that changed the world. Uncensored, hilarious, and packed with wild historical context—it's a wild one, wild cuz! Don't forget to LIKE, COMMENT, and SUBSCRIBE! Starting point is 00:01:05 And guess what? Me and Chrissy just got a little studio. So we're going to be doing a little additional Patreon content for you there. So sign up now because we're bringing Snowstorm back or something. We're going to start doing skits and we got a production company. We're calling ourselves the skittheads. Enjoy this episode about call marks. Hello everybody. Welcome to another episode, another glorious episode where two guys sit around and we talk about the limited history that we know and understand. It's what it is. I'm Chris Stefano, aka Chrissy Thomas Moore with me as always is Janus Pappas, aka Yanni Aquinas. And here's the thing is look, we have a limited, we've seen some of the comments on Patreon where people keep saying that, you know, hey, if you don't start talking more,
Starting point is 00:02:24 about history the way I want it. You know, we're going to cancel the Patreon, blah, blah, blah. And what I say, what I say to you is you're free to do whatever you like. Nobody's in a prison. Okay, nobody's in a prison. You're in self-induced prisons. If you want to go, then go. That's up to you.
Starting point is 00:02:40 We, of course, we'll miss you. We'd love for you to stay. But understand we're creating this art for God and God only. So we create for our creator. The money, all that stuff is secondary to what we do. we are the god is the beneficiary of what we create here we are creating god has put these gifts inside of us and it is an offering to god in jesus look so understand that you motherfucker you must understand that if if god exists or you believe in a god you have to accept the fact that
Starting point is 00:03:12 the kid has a sense of yuma it's what it is he definitely has a sense of yuma and yonis his hair looks like the mr softy guy right now it's just what it is and let me just just say we want you to leave you want to know why we want you to leave because we then we will celebrate your return like the prodigal son like the prodigal son and and you are correct on that but make absolutely no mistake it hit me on the car coming over here that this we are what we do is an offering to god our creator okay it's an offering what god has done is split i believe consciousness into all different things god is consciousness and we are just one form of his consciousness so make no mistake when you threaten to leave my friends is i say you can do
Starting point is 00:03:51 what you want because I support your life that you have free will. I support that. I support you trying to not get distorted by the devil. I support all that. But understand this, my friends, is if we are going, we are doing on this podcast, what we are doing is a little thing called watching to the end of the tape. So we are watching this tape through. We are not making impulsive decisions. We are seeing to what this end looks like. And what the end looks like is this life that Janice and I have is here to create comedy for our creator. So that, so only if God one time, if God decided to leave us, would I then be on my knees and worried.
Starting point is 00:04:28 But if you want to leave, just know that it's not for you. It never was. It's for God. Well, you know, also, I'd like to add that I think you're going to hell. I think you're definitely going to hell. There's going to be gnashing teeth and terror. So I wouldn't leave if I was you, but that's up to you, you know. But, you know, I know a lot of you leave and then come back to try again to win the lottery.
Starting point is 00:04:48 Yeah. to win the lottery of the funniest name. It's just what it is. You want to win. You play to win. And we've gotten some people. See, here's what's happening. As other shows start to go down or start to say, you know what, I don't want to do the Patreon anymore, that's, we support that too because then they come over to our Patreon.
Starting point is 00:05:05 We support all shows ending their Patreon. No mistake. Flagrant 2 is on the ropes. So if Flagrant 2 is on the ropes, we will gladly support all the blacks that want to come over and give their $5 to us. We do accept cash up on the Patreon. So just to know that. And we are waited for a folly down heart attack, and then we're going to get through all your garbage ones. It's called process of elimination.
Starting point is 00:05:29 It's just what it is. And as soon as Jordan Jensen realizes that she doesn't want to do a show with a bisexual anymore, we'll get. Be and Ian with Jordan. Patreon members on it on over. Make no mistake. Make no mistake. But that's just, you know, we don't live in certainty. it's just an open-ended,
Starting point is 00:05:47 we give you an open invitation to join us. Just join us! By the way, Ian Fine Dance would be fun to have on the pod. I like him, I like his energy. He's a fun guy. He's definitely his, he's for the table. He's for the table. He looks at life like a big buffet.
Starting point is 00:06:03 He's for the table. He will do podcast appearances wearing a moo-moo. He's definitely, yeah. He will, yeah, he's just. He looks like the, he is, that, if the alien race was going to say, Show me what a comedian looks like. That's him. That's it.
Starting point is 00:06:17 He looks like the disguise face. Well, the funny thing about... He's the best. He is... You can see with a lot of the funny people that they would definitely put together with spare parts in God's garage. Because he looks 100% one of the chosen people. But he's not. He has zero percent chosen people.
Starting point is 00:06:35 He's Italian, but he looks Jewish. He's gay, but he's also straight. Right. He looks like a guy, but he sometimes dresses like a girl. I mean, he looks like a biker, but he also looks like he can do your taxes. Yep. He's just in that middle ground. We like to call the gray zone.
Starting point is 00:06:52 The gray zone, but it's what makes him fantastically funny. Yes. So it's what it is. Yeah, and Adele just walked by and you don't get, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. You get crap. Yeah, it's just. And so, yeah, yeah, Adele, the singer just walked by. Yes.
Starting point is 00:07:07 So, because you, you know, you sent me a text last night and you said, do you want to talk about communism? I said, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. So you got into Karl Marx big. Now, here's the truth about this is I don't know. Like, I know certain things. I know kind of generally what communism is. I understand, you know, some of the stuff Karl Marx wrote,
Starting point is 00:07:29 but I don't really know much about Karl Marx and the history of it. I know a little bit about the proletariat, right? Is that the – that's our – but proletariat? Was your family grown up? Proletariat. And then what were the scumbags called, the higher class? My family, the bourgeoisie. The bourgeoisie.
Starting point is 00:07:44 Right. So you got the Brojazzis. So I was a proletariat and you're the bourgeoisie. Yes. So and Carl Marx, now he looks like a black kid. He was a little bit of a darker kid. Yeah, he was. And his friends made fun of him. He was all chosen. Huh? Chosen person. Well, it's very interesting. So this is going to be a fun, fun story. We're going to talk about some things that most people don't focus on with Carl Marx, but it's perfect fodder for the history hyenas podcast. And let's start with that.
Starting point is 00:08:12 So this is an episode that I'm going to send, because I have his number, I'm going to text Hassan Piker this episode. This is really a lot of people love Carl Marx. Now Carl Marx, brilliant guy, you know, big fan of the German philosopher Hegel. He was Hegelian or whatever. So what is Hegel's like, what was his thing? Hegel had the dialectic. It was the Hegel dialectic where he basically said all of history. you have a thesis and an antithesis.
Starting point is 00:08:46 And so basically ideas are the engine of history. You have these ideas, and then those ideas present the opposite ideas, and then the conflict between those ideas creates synthesis, which is something completely new, and that's the engine of history. And his name was Judge Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel. Seitzin-Whoh. George Wilhelm Friedrich Heigle. Those Wilhelm Fidelgheuser!
Starting point is 00:09:08 Hey. Yeah. So he was a follower of him and then he turned Hegel on his head. But before we get to that, more of the commonly known stuff, we're going to talk about some of the funer stuff. Yeah, we like to have a little thing called fun on this podcast. We like to have a little thing that Chrissy likes to call fun, fun, fun, fun. Fun, fun. And if you listen, go to patreon.com slash history. A&As, we put up a banger of an episode there.
Starting point is 00:09:31 And we talk all about the watching the tape to the end. And we talk about some new life philosophies. and we talk about a girl that wanted to bang yon. No, no, no, no, no. That's going to be on there on the 25, and it's what it is. Hey, Adrion.com says history hiatus. That one's not going anywhere. Just is going to do it.
Starting point is 00:09:50 I've given Jesse money under the table. It is not going anywhere. Yeah, I've told Jesse, I bought Jesse a month of free sculptured supplies. Yeah, that is. Yeah. All you got to do is give Jesse some molding clay and he'll do what you want. That was a true confession I made that just can never be out in. the world. It's just what it is. I think I'm going to have to kill Nick because I said that.
Starting point is 00:10:11 By the way, what I think we're going to start doing here on this podcast, and it is, you know, kind of tight rope walking. But Twitch and live streaming has become such a big thing. I think we should start live streaming the episodes and just getting them out to get our Twitch numbers up. Yeah, that would be, but then that creates a fundamental problem. Why? Because we put people, we push people to the patrons so they can get early access day early, which is what you get, ad free and uncensored. So if we stream it live, then we just make our Patreon useless. It's just that's a good point
Starting point is 00:10:41 that what you did there is what you did there is you didn't watch it till the end. I didn't watch a tape to the end. You had an idea and it just shoots out. And that's why I did that is to create an example of watching the tape to the end and why it's so important. But Hager would say, that's the thesis. We have the Patreon, you came up with the antithesis.
Starting point is 00:10:59 So if we examine the conflict between the two, we'll get synthesis, which will be something completely new. So maybe we'll do something else on Twitch. Maybe what we could do is the first 10 minutes are on Twitch. Something like that. Right? That's not a bad idea. Something like that.
Starting point is 00:11:12 And get people juiced up. We get them juiced up. Yeah. So Carl Marx, he was born into an ethnically Jewish family. Both the mother and the father, ethnic Jews, you know, tribe members. So do you mean like secular? Like they really weren't practicing? Well, they were both very secular.
Starting point is 00:11:32 His dad was so secular. His dad was so secular. His dad was so secular that he converted. He said, you know what? fuck this for my career. I'm not dealing with this shit anymore. I'm going to be Catholic. He goes just, I'm just convert.
Starting point is 00:11:42 He converts to Lutheranism. Right. And then so Karl Marx is actually born a Luther. He's baptized, whatever, you know. But they're undercover Jews. Yeah, undercover Jews. Martin Luther, another guy, German kid who just would not be opposed to just fucking tune in somebody up who's not a Christian.
Starting point is 00:11:59 He, that was another thing that, yeah, he just. St. Thomas More liked to ties people up, light him on fire. Luther would tune you up if you didn't believe in what he was saying. It just was not, yeah, I mean, yeah, what happened is Martin Luther just, he just got a little frustrated. It tried to govern him. He said, look, they're going to see the light, and then they didn't see the light. He said, you know what? Just do away with them. Yeah, and it's one of those things like people say, people say, you know, Christians don't act like that anymore. Christians don't beat, you know, don't kill people and persecute people if they don't believe in their religion.
Starting point is 00:12:27 And I say, that's right, they don't do that anymore, but we have a new name for them. They're called Muslims. Lad of 14. Yeah. It's just kind of Muslims is just doing what Christians. did a few hundred years ago. They're just tuned people up but you don't listen to their religion. So it's not that Christians are you know, Christians aren't innocent.
Starting point is 00:12:44 It's just we don't do it anymore but now the Muslims do it. That's all. Humans are just going to do human shit. You do human shit. Now the Muslims are tune people up if you don't listen to their religion. That's all it is.
Starting point is 00:12:52 You just get a little tuned up unless you just see it my way. And the thing is the truth is from the beginning of time, Jews have never been the ones to tune people up. They're always the ones getting tuned up. They're doing a little tuning up now.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Yeah, they just doing a little tune up. They're starting to do some tuning. First time in history. they're starting to tune people up. But for the longest time, they were the ones getting tuned up. They were getting tuned up. For a long time, they were getting tuned up is what it is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:14 Do you know that, I'm even scared to say it, but it's a historical fact. Do you know that Muhammad died because he got poisoned by a Jewish woman? I did not know that. Yeah, yeah. It's a historical fact. It's just a historical fact. Is there some hatred between the Muslim community towards Jews because of that? Or do you don't think most people don't even know that?
Starting point is 00:13:31 No, I think most people do know that. That's like especially Muslims know that. Yeah, it was like, like, like, like a concubine, like a Jewish slave woman or whatever. Poisoned them. Yeah, supposedly he... Did not know that. But he supposedly fulfilled a prophecy by,
Starting point is 00:13:45 God, you want to get this stuff right. You really want to get it right. You better want to get it right. Yeah, you just got to get it right. You might want to pull it up for me, but I think... You better blur my face out if he doesn't get this right. It was a prophecy that he was going to like foresee it, so he like took a bite but then knew and then he forgave her or whatever,
Starting point is 00:14:01 but he died anyway. Like his main guy, one of his good friends died from it. So they ended up tuning her up. Right. Tune her up. So it was according to, yeah, according to Islamic tradition, thank God. And biographical literature, the prophet Muhammad was allegedly poisoned by a Jewish woman named, have at it. Named bin al-Hadith.
Starting point is 00:14:25 Yeah, following the battle. Also known as the Jew from the Sand. Way so she was a resident of Kaibar, who's family members included. father, uncle, husband. So they got killed. So the Muslims tuned up the family a little bit, and so she was getting revenge. So they had been killed or defeated by Muslim forces. So she roasted the sheep, laced the meat heavily with poison, and presented it as a gift to Muhammad. Muhammad took a bite from the shoulder, four-leg of the sheep, but quickly spat it out after sensing or being warned that it was poisoned. However, one of his companions, you want to
Starting point is 00:14:58 have out that one? One of his companions, Biss Ibn Al-Bahara, Bishir Ibn Al-Barah, swallowed a peace, and died shortly after. So then I think because of that, they ended up tuning her up. But so he, so in other words, she didn't kill him though. She confessed.
Starting point is 00:15:12 Well, he questioned her, and she confessed that she intended to kill him to avenge her slain family members. But I think then some traditional narrative state that Muhammad initially pardoned her or spared her life when she was brought before him, while other accounts states she was later executed either in retaliation for Bishers' death
Starting point is 00:15:32 or because she did not convert. So we don't really know. We definitely know she's not going to convert because usually the Jews don't. Right. But Carl Marx's dad did. Right. And there's also like a bunch of Jews in Spain.
Starting point is 00:15:47 The Ashka, no, those are the Sephardics. The Sephardics are the smoking hot ones. They're from Portugal and Spain. And they're smoke shows. And a lot of them, there's a whole community of them that did, because there's a lot of pressure for them. A lot of them said, you know what? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:00 The kitchen's too hot. I'm going to convert. It's just what it is. Yeah, they're fucking, they're the Mata, Latina. Yeah, so his mother was a Dutch, a Jew, a Jew, like, secular Jew from like a kind of a more well-to-do family. But he was born out of a Jewish vagina, so he's Jew, the Jew will never wash off. You're a Jew forever. If you come out of a Jewish vagina, that's a rule.
Starting point is 00:16:20 I guess so. I'm not, I'm not even mean to say it disrespectful. I'm just saying if you have Jewish fluids. You did phrase it is not wash off. Yeah, I'm thinking that you need to wash it off. That's a good point. I didn't mean it that way. Yeah, you just meant if you come from, you know, Jewish vagina that you are of the Jewish fluid.
Starting point is 00:16:33 You're basically saying it's your stain. You can't wash off the stain. Is that what you're saying? No, I don't mean like that. Yeah, you know what I mean. Yeah, something like that. Yeah. I don't know what the fucking rules are.
Starting point is 00:16:42 I don't know what the rules are. I don't know if you're Jewish mother. You're Jewish. You can't really get out of it? Yeah, I don't. Can you get out of it? Can't get out of it? Jesse, can you officially get out of it?
Starting point is 00:16:51 Or are you in? Sure, just accept Jesus Christ. Daniel. You were born of a Jewish mother. Yeah, but I accept Jesus Christ. So now I'm Christian. Yeah, but, yeah, but he's basically saying, and you know, it's funny is the ones that did convert
Starting point is 00:17:05 or the ones like in the Sephardic ones that did convert they still were treated they still knew like yeah you converted but we still know that you like if when I bring the Doberman Pinterest and he'll sniff he'll sniff Jesse he'll know he'll start barking and sit at something like that yeah
Starting point is 00:17:19 yeah yeah I'm just gonna get a Dobby German a German dog for a German kid because a German dog for a German kid because I've been having trouble I started this on the Patreon my Siberian Husky Josephine she just won't listen so I said the way to get anybody to listen this is just tales all this time if you get a German involved And so if I'm going to get a German Doberman Pintra,
Starting point is 00:17:36 we're just going to bring that little fucker home, and Josephine's going to follow the German. Yeah, yeah. And I'm going to get a fully growed Doberman. I'm not doing a puppy. I'm getting a trained one. Yeah, get a trained one. Yeah, I'm getting a fucking canine.
Starting point is 00:17:45 Yeah. Canine unit dog. That's the best part about Chrissy. That's what people love is the last episode. He said he's getting rid of the dog. Now he's getting another one. Now I'm getting, what I like to do is turn up the heat. So he comes from a tradition of Jews.
Starting point is 00:17:59 Like, I think his granddad was like the chief rabbi of that German town that he was born in, right? So his parent, his grandfather, more to die. More to die, Levy. More to die. Mordedecki, what do you pronounce it? Mordadeki, Mordechai, Mordecai Levy
Starting point is 00:18:19 was the chief rabbi de Tuel. Yeah. So he was just one of the, you know, they said, the route coming to my office, let me help you with your problems, let me tell you what's going on. So, and then his father was born Herschel Levy and he converted to become,
Starting point is 00:18:33 a Protestant Lutheran, and they actually had Carl. But he was just getting away from the Prussian. They lived in Prussian. They were getting away from the discrimination that barred Jews from practice in law. And the kid was a lawyer. Yeah. Kid was a lawyer. His father was a lawyer. His mom was just a good, loving woman who said something funny later. One of her favorite, one of the most famous funny quotes, she said about her son because she loved her son, but she hated the fact that he was good for
Starting point is 00:18:57 nothing. Because make no mistake, Carl Marks couldn't make a dollar. Yeah. He lived off his buddy. So his mom once wrote him a letter and said, I wish he would have made some capital instead of writing about it. Yeah. Which is a funny line. So Carmark's didn't make any loot, really. He didn't make any loot.
Starting point is 00:19:14 And he also was constantly hitting his mom up for loot. And his mom was pissed that he was good for nothing. And his mom, he was also frustrated that his mom was still alive because he was going to get the inheritance and her being alive was holding it up. It's just what it is. Yeah. So he wanted her, you know, because there was a little loot for him at the end of the fucking Rainbow and his mom was standing in the way.
Starting point is 00:19:35 Yeah, so it's just one of those things where like even Karl Marx, like the leader of communism, they're all fucking scumbag. People. At the end of the day, they're all scumbug. You're going to find some contradictions. Like Frederick Engels was actually like a capitalist.
Starting point is 00:19:48 Like his family had like a cotton mill whatever in Manchester. And he was really good at it. Engels made money. And so he actually was given Carl Marks an allowance. He was like paying for his life. How come Engels isn't as famous as Marx? Why does everybody know about marks? Because Angles wrote some stuff on his own, and Engels was a sharp dude, but Carl Marx was like the, wrote the majority of it.
Starting point is 00:20:12 But just Carl Marks was a drunk. He was a functioning alcoholic, and he took his time, and Engels was the guy who came in and was like, speed it up. We need to get this out for the boys. Right. And Marks is the one. He famously critiques Jews a lot, even though he was one. Well, that's the fun part we're going to get to. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Because we're putting smoke shops in the museum. They're out of here. Right next to Blockbuster. MapQuest directions and every other thing we used to physically leave our houses to do because now there's everything 420. You just pull out your phone, open the app and you've got a massive selection right there, flower, vapes, edibles, accessories, all the brands you already know and trust everything for the whole operation and because the price is tough to beat. They're constantly running deals and you can stack my code, our code, hyenas, H-Y-E-N-A-S for an extra 50% off your
Starting point is 00:20:57 order. What do we do in driving around, look for a smoke shop? You find what you want, order it and boom it comes right to you fast and discreetly and discreetly is an important word because why does anybody need to know what's showing up at your house they don't mind your business smoke shops are history babe welcome to the future download everything 420 and use code hyenas for an extra 15% off 21 plus only and that's all off the top of my head guys let me tell you we need to talk about quo because today's episode is brought to you by quo it's spelled QUO it's the business system built so you never ever miss a call. Chrissy, it's so cool.
Starting point is 00:21:36 That's why today's episode is brought to you by them. Yeah. That's why. Happy Halloween, Cuzz! Happy Halloween. Quo is what you need because all your calls, your text and voicemails live in one place so anyone on your team can pick up a conversation,

Starting point is 00:22:17 slash hyenas. That's QUO. dynamo slash hyenas. That's, unfortunately, unfortunately, this is wild and so he wrote an essay called
Starting point is 00:22:32 I'm the Jewish question which is wild the Jewish question had been around for a while the Nazis didn't invent it the Nazis felt like they solved it Lat of 14 I'm saying from their perspective their point of you from their point of you were like we're finally
Starting point is 00:22:46 going to address it with an answer yeah it's it's like it's like every you know you could go back through to 2,500 BC at every council from you know the Sumera the first council, you know, first people ever, you know, through Julius Caesar, through, you know, the freaking Genghis Khan, through the founding fathers at every council at some point, somebody gets up
Starting point is 00:23:12 and raises the hand and says, but what about the Jews? It's unfortunate, but it is the truth. So the Jewish question comes from this long tradition of, are we going to let them give them rights? Are they going to be citizens? Like, what do we do with the Jews? Right. Like what, so that's what the Jewish question in Europe was. Like the question is always, are the Jews people or are they not what it would do here? Yeah, yeah, it's basically in some way it was kind of like that. It's unfortunate, but it is, you know, it is the truth.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Yeah. So he didn't invent the Jewish Christian and also the Nazis didn't invent the term the Jewish question. They just, unfortunately, I think they actually peaked at Marks. It's just what it is. Who himself was ethnically a Jew, but Marx wrote. Now McElmore's asking the Jewish question. Everyone is asking the Jewish question. So that's the name of McElmore's new tour.
Starting point is 00:23:58 It's called the Jewish question. So Marx did something fucking wild, dude. He wrote this response to a fellow Hegelian, these followers of this philosopher Hegel named Bruno Bauer regarding the civil rights of Jews in Christian Prussia. So that was essentially always the Jewish question that had come up over the centuries. So Marx decided like he was going to weigh in. And unfortunately, he really made the Jewish question. he said Judaism is basically this is bad
Starting point is 00:24:34 this is really bad he basically called them like haggling he said Judaism isn't as much a religion as it is just a like a hoarding haggling economics and he said huckstering is the word I was looking for linking he just called it hoxtering
Starting point is 00:24:55 he said it's an embodiment of commercial capitalism yeah he just basically what he did was he just reinforced the stereotype to a level nobody had ever before. He said basically they're just all about money. That's what they worship is money. And the way he intended it was like he put them in this system that he had in his mind. Like one thing Marx really didn't pay any attention to was the individual. Right.
Starting point is 00:25:24 All his things are just about these concepts. and the people are positions. Right. He looked at it like a mathematical equation. And he said, Jews are like the ultimate capitalists. Right. And they always were. And he said, they're going to see this on their own.
Starting point is 00:25:39 So he thought he was helping the Jews. Right. He thought he was going like, they're going to, once the revolution happened, and he goes, they've been, he says they've sympathetically been relegated to this because of the circumstances, right? Like they had to go to usury because it was a way to survive because they weren't allowed to do anything else, which is historically true. Right.
Starting point is 00:25:55 So Jews became the moneylenders and stuff. because they weren't allowed to do anything else. Right. And unfortunately, that makes you the target because if you're a poor peasant or whatever who needs a loan and then you can't pay that back, it's a Jewish face that's asking for their money back. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:11 So it's a bad situation to be in. Right. But the Jews... They were forced into it, though. They were kind of forced into it. Like, they chose that over, you know, and they did it. But the Jewish question I have is, why were they forced out of every other job in the first place?
Starting point is 00:26:26 So it was because they rejected crisis their same. That's the reason. That's the reason. Right. So I'm not saying that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm just saying that's the reason. But then there's also, I'm hoping that's the reason. Yeah. Because in Rome, there was a similar, there was similar things. And that was before Jesus. And yeah, Christ hadn't showed up yet. There was anti-Semitism even before Jesus. So that is the question is why from the beginning for pretty much every group of people from any corner of the world, it's always the same thing. What is it? I don't know. Because I don't have any problems on all with Jewish people. I really swear. I just an honest question. What is the reason? Medieval Christian law prohibited Christians from lending money.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Yeah, this is the thing. But I understand all that. I get what, but again, why? Because there were so many other religions that people, they didn't, they allow them to do stuff. No, no, they didn't. Everyone was Christian. You had to be. Okay.
Starting point is 00:27:21 So in other words, the reason why the Jews ran this position was because the Jews had balls and were like, we're not going to, we're not going to become anything else. Essentially, you can look at it. Okay, so that's pride. They were definitely insular. I think the thing is they're very insular. Like, they're very insular. Like, even in Rome, like you see the scathing critiques of them.
Starting point is 00:27:40 It's like they're insular. They stick to their thing. And then they yield some power. And then they sort of stay outside a little bit. Well, the thing is with Jewish people, too, outside of, you know, the recent stuff. In their mind, they're chosen. But outside of, you know, the recent stuff with Israel, they're really not violent. they're not too violent.
Starting point is 00:27:58 No, no, no. This is new for them. This is new because most of the time they're not violent at all. Even if they're getting pushed out of stuff, they kind of meet everything with nonviolence, which is nice. And there's, well, there's never been enough of them. They've never been enough. They've never, it's always been kind of a small thing. Even Jesus is from a fucking, at the time, I mean, that's like a remote little area in Rome. It means nothing.
Starting point is 00:28:20 I mean, the Jews were such a small amount of people. It was just a, it's weird that it became so famous. It doesn't make sense that it became. so famous. Right. Like it shouldn't have become as famous as I'm sure there was situations like that all over the world where some dude was like, oh, you, and then it just physical. Well, no, there were. Historically, there were. There were like 30 other people at the time of Jesus. There was tons of that. In that hundred year span that he lived saying that they were the Messiah and they all fell into oblivion. Yeah. There's been, there was another guy in the 1800s and a lot of Jews
Starting point is 00:28:49 believed that he was a mess. I think his name was Frank or something and some people followed him. So it's like, yeah, I don't know. It's weird that he got. executed by that empire and then that empire ended up converting. It's weird. If you just do a helicopter view, it is fucking weird. But anyway, we're getting on a tangent. Yeah. But so I think it may be that, right?
Starting point is 00:29:10 So, but the Jewish question was that. And so the he go, I mean, he fucking writes this thing. Carl Marx writes to the Jewish, on the Jewish question in 1844. He just, Carl Marx, if he would to, if you were to illustrate his, it would just be the fucking happy merchant me. And it's what it is. That's what Carl Marx did. Yes. And that's the one thing I know about Carl Marx is on the Jewish question, 1844, because it's tradition in my house. It's read to us as children every Christmas Eve around the fire.
Starting point is 00:29:38 Latin 14. He basically just, he plainly said. He didn't say they like to Huxter. He didn't say they like to make money. He didn't say they like. He said, that's what they are. He said, that's what it is. He went for it. He said Judaism. He didn't say it's like huckstering. He said it is. It is. It is. It is hustering. His hucksterisk. He said it is. He said Judaism embodies commercial capitalism. He said that's exactly what it is. And, but he said, in his mind, he was going, like, you know what, but that's everybody's like that. And once they're aware of what I'm saying, this stuff will all just fall away natural. Yeah. So that's what he was saying. And he was sympathetically saying they're in this position,
Starting point is 00:30:26 for these reasons and it's become this thing, but it's no different than, you know, what he called historical materialism. That's what Marx was about. He's going, all of history can be understood by who controlled the modes of productions and the classes that were created and the conflicts between the people
Starting point is 00:30:45 based around materialism. Right. So he took Hegel, who said, history can be explained through ideas and the conflict between opposing ideas. And he said, No. He said, Hegel's wrong. I'm going to turn it on its head and say it's not the ideas. It's actually material. It's actually material possessions and the conflict between who has them and who doesn't, which is the term in history. Now, looking back, if you're an honest person, you could say both of them ain't wrong. But is that the whole story? Right. Probably not. Probably not the whole story. So in my opinion, he took apart and he made it the whole, just like Hegel took apart and made it the whole.
Starting point is 00:31:26 So, but the other kid, wasn't Engels? Angles. Fredger, Fredgerna. So are you saying, though, then Carl Marx, because of on the Jewish question, that's what kind of makes him more famous than Angles and why people talk more about Marx today than they do about angles? No, the Jewish question thing is something that most people don't even bring up. Right.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Yeah. It doesn't work for their narrative. It's just a weird thing. Yeah, it's a thing that it's sort of like people don't bring up Taiwan. You know, it's like if you got like somebody who's just yelling about how great China is, Yeah, LeBron James. Or whoever it is. There's some people on the internet who love to talk about how great China is.
Starting point is 00:32:01 What they will never bring up is how much better Taiwan is doing than China. By every measure that's meaningful, Taiwan is crushing China, and it's a liberal capitalist democracy. And that's exactly why China hates it. Yeah. And that's exactly why those people who love China never bring it up. Right. Because it's just an inconvenient thing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:23 It's sort of like I was thinking about, you know, Miami's kind of like, Miami's kind of like a second Cuba. Miami's kind of like the Taiwan of Cuba. Right. It's this little like Cuban enclave in a different system right next door. You could swim it. A lot of people try. And it's right there.
Starting point is 00:32:40 And you tell me. Yeah. You tell me between the two Cubas. Yeah. Which one looks a little more cute. Cute. One of them's cute. Which one does Lionel Messi want to live in?
Starting point is 00:32:51 What does Lionel Messi want to live in? Where does Pat Joe want to live? Yeah. It's just, it's kind of like two cubits. It is. It's a little. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:33:00 So scroll down a little bit, Jess. So very important, Marx did not invent socialism or communism from scratch. So he had some ideas, right? He got borrowed or whatever. The French fox did. So he said Marx becomes a radical. So he influenced by Hegel. And he said material and economic condition shaped society and class conflict drives historical
Starting point is 00:33:20 change. So that's the borrowing from Heigel. That's pretty much, right? Yeah. He's saying like the... He took Hegel's dialectic, and he went, it's not ideas, it's actual class conflict, it's material. So he used Hegel and he refuted it.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Right. And he said, Hagel got it wrong. It's not the ideas. By the way, Hegel's having like a resurgence now, like Zizak and all these guys love Hegel. So it's a very interesting idea. So basically Hegel's going like, you have an idea. That idea is going to create, and it's also very young Ian, which is very interesting too because it's like the shadow and then incorporating the shadow it's very similar to what young was saying
Starting point is 00:33:59 like you have a ego and identity and a shadow and you what your goal is is to incorporate the shadow into your identity and integrate them and Hegel was saying you have an idea and then you have its opposite and then those two things come into conflict and that produces a new thing right and that's the engine history so it's very similar to young in that way and it you know one psychology won the sort of the engine of history, but the architecture is the same. Right. So they're all saying the same thing. Take off the mask. They're saying, take off the mess. They're saying, integrate the shadow. They're saying let the conflict be and accept it, accept the darkness, and then something new will emerge. Right. And that's what he called
Starting point is 00:34:42 synthesis, which was the common, the battle, the resulting battle between the thesis and the antithesis. Right. And then Mark said, no, no, no, no. It's class. Right. Right. And, It's material. He goes, the thesis, in his mind would be, in Rome, it would be the patricians and then the work and then the peasants and the feudal system. It would be the royal families and the serfs and so on and so forth. It's a real pattern. It's a real pattern. Do you think if Karl Marx was alive today, he would have died the beard blue?
Starting point is 00:35:11 I think you would. And cut the piece off? And lived in Portland? Do you think it's possible? I'll be in Portland, October 8 to the 10. I don't. What's interesting is, would I? out of doubt when you look into Marx, he definitely wouldn't recognize what happened. In his mind,
Starting point is 00:35:29 it would have been different. It actually would have been. He wouldn't even embrace this stuff. He would not. He didn't foresee Russia being the first like big, you know, socialist state, right? Because he thought it had to happen in Germany and England because it had to happen in a place that was heavily industrialized. America wasn't big enough to hate yet for him, right? Karl Marston. He was paying attention. He thought it was going to happen in America too. he thought it was going to happen first. He predicted it would be in England and Germany because the industrialization was like moving there.
Starting point is 00:36:00 Other places were catching up. Russia was still largely agrarian. So he didn't see that coming. He didn't see that coming at all. And he didn't see the fact that it would produce the same authoritarian structure. And what would happen is that you would take all the private property and own the modes of production
Starting point is 00:36:23 from private ownership and companies and give it to the state. He didn't foresee that, oh, that creates the same problem, but now it's just basically one company, one person in power as opposed to spread out. So he didn't see that. He didn't see it that way. Okay. He didn't see it that that way.
Starting point is 00:36:39 What he saw was that happening for a little while, and that's what he called socialism. So when people go, what's the difference between socialism and communism, the way their foundational thinkers saw it, right? This is what's going on today, which is very interesting. First, I'll say this.
Starting point is 00:36:52 The way the foundation, like Mark saw it was first you you do capitalism first you let it get you let it produce a lot of shit and then there's a I don't know the perfect someone decides it's the perfect moment right goes all right they accumulated a lot it's a perfect moment yeah let's fucking have a revolution workers of the world unite and we're going to take it right now we're going to take them and kill them or get rid of them or enlighten them or put them in re-education camps or whatever and now the workers own everything right and we get all your private property seized right there's no more private property, companies don't have property, the people have it.
Starting point is 00:37:26 Yeah. And then what will happen is a structural reform where there's like a socialist dictatorship or whatever the fuck he was talking about. And they would rule for a little while. And then what would happen is naturally, naturally, you don't have to do anything. And naturally it will fade away. The state would fade away. Because people would realize, oh, this piece, it's nice, everything's good.
Starting point is 00:37:50 So basically, if you were to visualize it, it would be like, you build, the ladder with socialism, and then once you get to the top and achieve it, then the latter will disappear on its own. Got it. And so that's when you go from socialism to communism, as he called it, the withering away of the state. Right. Now, let me say this, which is really interesting.
Starting point is 00:38:08 What the DSA is doing right now is very interesting to me. Yeah. Because what I see, if you're paying attention, which I don't think a lot of their voters are paying attention, I don't think they care. But Comani did it. Chavez did it. Castro did it, right? Getting elected and winning popular support is one thing, right?
Starting point is 00:38:25 And then what you want to do and what you really believe is another. But the thing with the DSA's done is they tell you if you go to their website, if you listen to them, talk in their meetings or whatever, this is what they want. This is what they believe. They believe we want to get the modes of production. We want to give it to the people. Workers unite. We want to get rid of capitalists, right? And what they use is they say, we already have socialism.
Starting point is 00:38:51 They go, we really have socialism. We have firefighters. We have public schools. And what they're doing is they're conflating. What they're doing is conflating. Whether they're doing it consciously or not, depends on the person, I think. But the gap between what is true and what they're doing is unmissable. They're conflating these public services in a capitalist system as socialism.
Starting point is 00:39:15 It's not socialism. These are these are, these are, these are, um, public services that have existed in every system. Rome had fire brigades. Right. Rome had public education. Yeah. So it's like these are, you know, this is the government, like giving public services.
Starting point is 00:39:34 It's not the government owning the modes of production. Right. So they're conflating that and going, we just want to do that and then make it more. And that's what, you know, Iran thought in 1979. That's what they thought. And look what happened now. Not only that, that's what Venezuela thought. Because if you look at Chavez actually campaigning, he says, I'm not a socialist.
Starting point is 00:39:54 Yeah. Which is funny. There's a whole interview you can watch where he goes, I'm not a socialist, bro. He's like, I'm not for that. I'm not for that. I'm not for that. We're not going to get rid of property. I'm not for that.
Starting point is 00:40:01 And then look what happened. And also Castro said that. Yeah. And do not vote for it, my friends. Do not vote for it because what's going to happen to you is just like what happened in Iran in 1979. They're going to say all this good stuff. Then all of a sudden you got to go full religious garb you don't want to wear.
Starting point is 00:40:17 And the only way to be freed is how we're going to have to free is how we're going to free the Iranian people, and it's going to happen us at 30 years with a little thing called the bunker buster. Way song she ain't. Cod! Today's episode is sponsored by the ASPCA Pet Health Insurance Program. Now, I really love this. I got it for my dog Josephine, and I'm going to get it.
Starting point is 00:40:35 And I'm going to get it for my new dog. I'm getting a Doberman Pinscher, and we just picked the name. It's Goebbels. Yes, yes. Yes, it's going to be the new dope. You get a German dog, another doby. Yeah, that's the way to solve the problem. If you have a problem with one dog, just get a second dog.
Starting point is 00:40:51 Yeah, because hopefully that dog will keep that other dog in line. And I believe my dorm pitcher will. Yeah, so ASPCA, it's important. Me and Chris both have dogs. Starting point is 00:43:07 I mean, look, I think it's an equal but opposite reaction to Trump's authoritarianism. Because here's what Trump does. And you tell me if I'm wrong. This is what Trump does. I by the way also good point I'm not telling you to vote or not vote for the DSA yeah do whatever you fuck honestly truly do it do what you want it doesn't about you're just telling you what I notice it's just what it is yeah there's definitely yeah the truth is I'm not even a US citizen I work for Israel yeah but the truth is you look at their website and then you go they're saying something different than what that says you're saying something privately I am and you look at history you go I've seen that before anyway
Starting point is 00:43:35 but what Trump does you tell me if I'm wrong does this sound like it's right what he does is an interesting thing it's a sort of like authoritarian tactic where he'll say some shit. Or he'll say he's going to do some wild shit or he actually do something that seems authoritarian, right? And then if you believe it and you push back and he sees that he can't get away with it really, then he just goes, I'm
Starting point is 00:43:56 joking. Yeah. So then he makes you look like a fool and all supporters go, look at these idiots. They got Trump derangement syndrome. They don't get it. But if it works, it gives him a little more license to push forward. And so that process kind of just exhausts you, but it seems like he's just pushed. He's just pushing
Starting point is 00:44:12 a little bit. He's pushed. I mean, he's best friends with Mom Dani now. Push. The kid's wild. Yeah, because they're both populists. Yeah. Probably looks at them and goes like, I get it, dude. I get this guy.
Starting point is 00:44:21 Well, Mamdami's a brilliant politician. So this thing with the opera, right? So the Met, he just announced this big thing. And of course, people fell for it. But he's not wrong. He's just bending it in his favor. What do you say about the opera? So the Met, it's funny that you know the up-to-date news on the opera.
Starting point is 00:44:38 Yeah. So the Met is releasing 70,000 unpaid tickets, like unbought. tickets. Yeah, and Debo got really excited because he thought he didn't realize there wasn't an S at the end. He thought the Mets were giving away tickets. So he got upset when he heard about this. Right. Yeah. So they're going to release the tickets that aren't, that don't get purchased. Right. And they're saying we're just going to give it to people to get people into the opera, whatever. Who would have never been able to get into the opera. Yeah, seats are empty or whatever. Mom Dami goes, this is a nice win for me. Right. So he goes, let me promote this. We'll work
Starting point is 00:45:14 together and then he goes what we're doing when you see him releasing the you know doing this the social media video on it he's goes what we're doing is we're gonna we're giving away we're giving away did so you see these people who don't do the work or the research going it's not their money he's got those guys go it's not their money the fucking take a taxpayer money and then you got the other ones going like look at how great he has look at what he's doing and they're both fucking wrong right so this is how this goes back he's spinning it. It's a good thing.
Starting point is 00:45:47 He's involved. He's promoting it. They're involved. But there's not giving away free tickets. These tickets are on the market. They haven't been purchased. That's what it is. The MET is just gone.
Starting point is 00:45:57 The seats are fucking empty. We want people into the opera. Let's promote the fucking opera. Let's give them tickets that we can't buy and at least we'll get them in. They'll buy concessions. Yeah, something like that. But Mamdami's using it as like, I'm a person of the people, whatever. Like, he's smart.
Starting point is 00:46:12 Politically, the guy is very. fucking smart. He's smart. And so he's owning it. So he's basically, he's going, I'm going to do the press release. Right. I will,
Starting point is 00:46:23 I will own this in a way that makes me look very good. This is things people don't usually take the time to see through because nobody has time. It's not even our fault. We don't have time. Well, it's also, too, that's the other, you know, genius thing. If the technocrats, you know, made social media, it's like they, they know that it just burns your energy, your mental energy that you don't have enough time to think or care about anything.
Starting point is 00:46:41 You just become, like, indifferent to everything because you're exhaustive. And that's what Trump does very well. He says so much wild shit, you just go, you just go, what, I'm just fucking tired. Like, I don't even know what he's doing. You go, look at what he's doing that. You go, dude, I'm like, I can't even pay attention anymore because he's exhausted you so many times. And he does that game. That game is very effective.
Starting point is 00:47:02 You know, you go like, fucking he says he's going to rub for the third term. And then he goes, I'm just kidding. And then he makes you look like a fool. But you're going, no, you did say that. You are kind of acting like that. Yeah. You know, so it's like this little, this little hop step thing that he does. does that fucks everyone's brain up.
Starting point is 00:47:16 I mean, the kid might come in for number three. But now he's also starting to support Vance, so it doesn't look like he's going to do it. But he keeps you off balance. Right. That's his goal is to keep you off balance and to push, push, push, push, push. Like he does stack the court. He does do things.
Starting point is 00:47:34 Like, he does do authority. You know, he denied the election. You know, all that shit. He's pushing the institutions. He's seeing if they bend. Yeah. And they did bend a little bit, but it didn't. break if either one of these fucking people just break it a little bit because that's what the
Starting point is 00:47:50 DSA says what they want to do ultimately would call Marks and Frederick Engels before the DSA or they would say this is pushed too far according to their principles that's an interesting question that's very interesting I don't I think they would what would chat GPT say so I mean we are the sluts yeah I don't know I mean marks was a functioning alcoholic so let's see I don't they may come back and because they're they may rationalize it and say nobody did it right I don't know what they would do. Let's see. But they definitely would have more data.
Starting point is 00:48:18 Chat, let me ask you a question, hon. Would Frederick Engels and Carl Marx, would they be supportive of the modern-day DSA? Give me the real answer, hon. Oh, wait. Hold on. Wait. Sorry. Hello?
Starting point is 00:48:37 Well, it says, okay, there's no way to know what marks or angles would think of. We want to hear the voice. Yeah, I know. I don't know why. It's got to give me the voice. And while you find the voice, I'll say this, the kid did not. Hey, hello? Hi.
Starting point is 00:48:51 Hey, what's up, guy? Listen, would Carl Marx and Frederick Engels, if they were alive today, would they be in support of the DSA, you know, knowing what you know about their work and comparing that to what the DSA says? Give me the real answer, hon. Let me check that through carefully. But speed it up because we're on the pod. One second. don't embarrass me in front of my friends I was just going to say quickly
Starting point is 00:49:25 on core economic goals there's major overlap DSA says it wants to replace capitalism build working class political power and pursue public ownership which yeah lines up with what Marks and Engels were aiming for where they'd likely diverge his strategy
Starting point is 00:49:41 DSA is explicitly democratic and electoral whereas Marx and Engels also contemplated revolutionary rupture So same big picture horizon, different route. So you see this, but the candidate will not say that on the campaign trail. They won't say that. Right.
Starting point is 00:50:01 They'll say, we're going to expand, we just want to expand, you know, health care for all. We just want, you know, just like your firefighters or it's just public services. So they're like conflating public services, which is not social. What they claim is socialism is not socialism. Right. It's not socialism. Yeah. It is not social.
Starting point is 00:50:19 which way you slice it, it's not socialism. You could maybe stretch it and use the rhetoric and say it's socialist inspired, but that's modernizing it because like I said, Rome had all that shit. Yeah, and they were capitalist? No. They weren't capitalists either, but were they socialists? No, they weren't. No. So it's, it's, it's, every modern capitalist country in the world has some form of that. It's a tactic. Welfare and stuff. Yeah, it's a tactic. But like he, like you said, that's what the DSA. You think they're going to get in? The DSA are communists. Right. And it's just, it is what it is. The Democratic social. Socialists.
Starting point is 00:50:49 We just heard the synopsis of what they want. That's socialism. Now we're, let's let's speak to a member of the DSA. First of all, I want to ask you why do you think it's bad if I say that they're communists? Let's be honest. Why do you think that's bad? By the way, this is Nick with pants on.
Starting point is 00:51:03 Yeah, here we go. I think it's fine. I think this is just the American version of socialism. The way we all have like the American version of movies that come out from Europe and it's never as good. It's the same thing. This is the American version of socialism. Just like Trump is the American version of fascism.
Starting point is 00:51:18 sometimes it's not as good as the original, but what can you do? And I think it's just what it is. And I think it's going to work. I don't think New York's going to become the new version of Cuba. But if it does, then I'll help you guys swim back in. It'll be fine. Thank you. Well, you know, the thing that's different is this isn't Sweden.
Starting point is 00:51:34 This isn't Scandinavian welfare. You just heard, like, Chachybc just summarized what they want. What they want is what Marx was saying. They want socialism. They want socialism. The problem, it only kind of works in a homogenous society. It doesn't really work with us. We're too different.
Starting point is 00:51:48 Well, it didn't even work there. Sweden was not socialist. All right. Sweden was a welfare state, a capitalist welfare state. That's what it was. What does that mean a capitalist welfare state? That means they were a market economy that had a lot of social programs. Right.
Starting point is 00:52:02 Right. So people are... But you could make all... You could be a billionaire in Sweden, no problem. You could be a billionaire in Sweden. In fact, this is another... Look at IKEA. Yeah, this is another inconvenient fact that people hate.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Because Bernie always talks about the wealth tax. He's like, we've got to do this wealth tax. Now here's a deal. Nothing's new, right? Sweden. Austria, few other countries had a wealth tax. They got rid of it. These are the most open-minded, liberal, whatever,
Starting point is 00:52:26 also the most social program, socialists like, however you want to call it. They got rid of it. Why did they get rid of it? Not just for capital flight. It had poor redistributive value. It just didn't work. It made wealthier people somehow more wealthy. It just didn't work the way they thought it was going to work, so they got rid of it. And in Sweden's case, they got rid of it a long time ago. Right. 2007. Right. So, but there's like a bunch of kinds.
Starting point is 00:52:49 Most countries that tried the wealth tax, they got rid of it. Right. And I don't know why anyone doesn't ask Bernie. Has anyone ever asked Bernie that? What he thinks about that? Well, he would, he's a good politician. He would have some kind of answer where he would wiggle out of it. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:02 And I'm not saying this to espous. This is just a fact of what happened. So it's like, I'm not saying anything. I'm not offering an opinion. I'm just telling you these countries got rid of their wealth tax. What does that mean? I don't know. Have we asked?
Starting point is 00:53:15 Why? I don't know. I don't know. I don't know. But yeah, and also this thing to call Sweden. And by the way, they don't, they don't quote Sweden anymore. They don't, they don't really, even though Sweden, I think the left just won again, more power. But Sweden has turned a lot more to markets and private insurance and it's a mess over there because their welfare state is funding, you know, they're paying for a lot of new people, new Swedes. New Swedes. Yeah. It kind of has strained their
Starting point is 00:53:41 welfare state a little bit, but they're not socialist. Venezuela is socialist. Cuba is socialist. Right. North Korea is socialist. What the DSA is saying on their website and what their talking points are is socialist. Right. What they say on the campaign trail is not what they say on their website and when they talk amongst themselves. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:54:05 That's just a fact. I don't know what to tell you. It's just a fact, guys. It's just a fucking fact. And also it's a fact that Karl Marx fucked this outkeeper. Yeah, can we talk about that? Let's get into fun Karl Marx stuff. Let's, what Karl Marx fucked his housekeeper? And how did Karl Marx die? I want to know a little bit more about Karl Marx. Carl Marx was a fun, it was a fucking boozehound.
Starting point is 00:54:24 Yeah. And he always was. And the funny thing is him is Engels were boys for like 40 years. And they would write back and forth and joke and be sarcastic and rip people apart. And Frederick Engels just paid for this kid's lifestyle with his money for decades. Like if it wasn't for Angles, Marks would be like broke until he got that inheritance when his mommy died. Right. But, um, he had a.
Starting point is 00:54:45 He had a housekeeper and he knocked her up. Yeah, go ahead. Oh, I'm saying. And then read the cover up is funny. Yeah, the cover was funny. Frederick Engels covered for him and said, I'm the father. Yeah. Because they didn't want Carl Marx to have like a bad reputation or whatever.
Starting point is 00:55:00 Yeah. So he just stepped in and was like, yeah, I fucked her. Yeah, it's just what it is. Really, Carl Marx just banged up his housekeeper because he was alone drunk and she was there and he fucked her. And he fucked her and he banged her out. And it's just what happens. And his name was Freddie. And his name was Freddie.
Starting point is 00:55:15 Ready. Yeah, and he was not raised by Helene or Marks. Instead, he just got sent to live in some working class. Forster family in Hackney, London. And he grew up to be Jack the Ripper. He grew up to be Jack the Ripper. Yeah. So when did it come out? Can you do the confession? Scroll down a little bit. Kept a secret. However, on his deathbed, Angles confessed the truth to Eleanor Mark's daughter and a close circle of socialist. Yeah. So Carl Mark's daughters were like big fans of his and they admired him and they were like socialist activists. That's like the Sam Kinnison and Carl Leboe's story, the comedians. You ever, you know that story?
Starting point is 00:55:49 Sam Kinnison, you know, one of my favorite comedians of all time died, you know, tragically young. Carl Lebov, who I opened for a couple of times out of Long Island, another great guy. He's also recently passed away. But Carl Lebov used to open for Sam Kinnison all over the world. They were best friends. And Carl had a daughter. Carl Lebov had a daughter, you know, great father, like, you know, like our daughters.
Starting point is 00:56:13 Like how we are with our daughters, like whatever. When Sam Kinnison died or right after Sam Kinnison died, somewhere when the daughter was like a teenager, it came out that Sam Kinnison had, Carla Boe's wife had an affair with Sam Kinnison, and that wasn't Carl's kid. It was his, but he only found out after Sam Kinnison died. So Carl told me the story in the green room once where he was like,
Starting point is 00:56:40 I had to, you know, I would go to his gravesite and be mad at him and then at and then as years went on i started going his grave site to forgive him but the whole time he was dead holy shit yeah holy shit wild right but he said i still could i still made decision to just raise her as if she was my daughter because she was my daughter yeah you know wild right wild yeah that is wow so it happens it happens well frederick angles didn't do any of that he just sent the sent the sent the sent the sent little freddie to some fucking strangers it's just what it is he said listen i got the loot you're just going to go live with these fuckers and hackney Now, the interesting thing, you know, the interesting thing about the Jewish question thing is I was thinking about it, right?
Starting point is 00:57:17 So, like, Carl Marx was close to his dad. They, like, they were kind of close. They weren't, like, a strange or anything like that. But his dad, you couldn't help but notice that his dad was kind of the opposite of what Carl Marx believed. Okay. And also, like, this, this was the, the workers spring or the people spring was 1848. So revolutions happened all over Europe, like the people as industrialization. started. So Carl Marx is coming to be in this new industrialization, this change in the economy. Right. I think what Carl Marx didn't predict or couldn't foresee and was obviously wrong about was capitalism's ability to absorb these social critiques and use them and continue on. Right. Like I think he thought it was like this or nothing. People love binaries. Yeah. It's either good or bad. Right. It's either going to work or not. Evil or good. They don't like the gray zone. Life's a gray zone.
Starting point is 00:58:12 Yeah. So what capitalism did, they started, you know, there was worker reforms, there was unions, there was, they lessened the hours, workers got a little more. And capitalism, you know, absorbed it, reformed and changed. And that's what capitalism still does to this day, is it kind of absorbs the critiques, the inequities, fixes it, and continues on. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:58:32 So that just makes people mad. Yeah, Nick, the DSA is G-A-Y. You know what else is weird? You know what else is weird? Yeah. The census data just came out, and this blew my mind. This is just like, you know, and this is people just, you know, this just shows you like, people get threatened because they build their identity on something. It's not the truth that threatens them.
Starting point is 00:58:49 It's that then they have to change your opinion. They don't like that because then if your identity is tied to their opinion, then they get all fucked up. It's what it is. So the census data just came out. America has just recorded the highest inflation adjusted medium income, like one of the highest. Okay. The average is like 87, $87,000 something. And it's also one of the lowers, or if not the lowest,
Starting point is 00:59:11 poverty rate on record. Right. So you're going, what do we do with that? Because you keep telling me that the system is collapsing. Yeah, and everybody got loot. But the system's doing better than ever. Yeah. So what does that say? That means there's some people struggling, right? But can we define the whole system just by the people who are struggling? Are we taking a part of what's going on and making the whole? Because it seems like there's a bigger picture here. You have some people who the system is genuinely failing and that can be addressed. And then you have some people who are failing within the system, perhaps due to their stubbornness, which a free society allows you to be.
Starting point is 00:59:45 But then you have an enormous amount of people who are also doing okay and doing well. So is the problem that we're living in prosperity and the real problem is it's our ability to see it? Maybe. I don't know. I'm not stating these things definitely. I'm just saying this is the data
Starting point is 01:00:01 that you got to deal with. It's just what it is. You can't just stick to your little part of the story and think that's the whole story. Yeah. The world's bigger than you, babe. You got to give me something, babe. You got to give me

And we're going to, we're going to, We're going to pick this. We're going to pick this one. We're going to see this through to the end of the tape.
Starting point is 01:07:24 I agree with you. Okay. So what do you got? So, give me your thoughts on it, John Hancock. For me, I like, out of all these,
Starting point is 01:07:33 I think they're all great, but licking peanut butter off my dog's asshole feels fun because it's always been there for the taking and nobody thought about that. Okay. That's a good reason? Yeah. Because they, yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:42 Okay. Nick? Nick, what do you got? PPW. PpW, because that's a good one. That is a great one. He's going with the level, the inventiveness.
Starting point is 01:07:52 It is a great, yeah. Yeah. Can't go wrong here. Can't go wrong. Well, I thought nothing was going to be licking peanut bar off my dog's asshole until I heard Chinese payday. Yeah. Honest, what are you got on? Wow.
Starting point is 01:08:08 Have we ever had each person picked a different one? And now it's on me. This is the votes to. Well, no, because. Oh, then it'll be a tie no matter what. So the only, so what does I pick one? No, so what do we have to do in this? We got to give it to the fans.
Starting point is 01:08:21 No, we call the wives. We call the wives. That's what we do. That's the only way. That's the only way is so I'll go for mine. We'll call the wives. We'll see. Hopefully she picks up.
Starting point is 01:08:32 And if not, we'll call my mom. No, you didn't vote yet, right? No, I didn't vote yet. But if I vote, if I vote something different, because there's three of them, right? Oh, yeah. I would break. Oh, it's called once anyway. Hello?
Starting point is 01:09:04 Hello? Hi. Hi. Wait, are you in the car with the kids? Yeah. Oh, okay. All right. Well, yeah, I'll call you back then because we need you to break the tie.
Starting point is 01:09:16 Oh, my God. Can you stop calling me for the pod, please? No, but we need you to break a tie. We need you to break a tie with three of the names. So we can't pick one. So now to break the tie, we have to call the wives. Name for what? For the, for the Patreon.
Starting point is 01:09:33 For the Patreon. that we read at the end. You can't say those, yeah. Yeah, I can't say them, though, because the kids will hear. Can you take the phone? Can you just put the phone in your ear for a second? Maybe I'm driving. Just real quick.
Starting point is 01:09:44 If you could just put the phone in your ear. Imagine you get a call for your husband, and that's what the call is. You're pulling into the driveway? Okay, yeah. Give you a second. Hey, girls, how was school? Good hard. Yeah, it was fun.
Starting point is 01:09:55 What was the highlight of your day, honey? Give me the highlight. Daddy's at work. The highlight. The highlight. What was the best moment of your day? What made you the happiest? What moment? Maybe.
Starting point is 01:10:07 I love them. Kids that was conglary names. You what? Okay. And what was the saddest moment? I'd like to know both. All right. All right. All right.
Starting point is 01:10:19 Okay. Everybody popped my squishy. But you got through both. All of them. Okay. Violet. Go ahead. You're going it?
Starting point is 01:10:29 Okay. Okay. These are the three. Don't react until I read all three. Okay. Snap it around her neck. Okay. ready? Yes. A fat bitch who loves piss, call me a PPW. Don't like it. Okay, licking peanut
Starting point is 01:10:42 butter off my dog's asshole. Or recycling day on my block, aka Chinese payday. What's what? Let me read him again. A fat bitch who loves piss. We just have to do it for the show. A fat bitch who loves piss, call me PPPW. Licking peanut butter off my dog's asshole or recycling day on my block, aka Chinese payday. What do you like? Oh, my God. The live? What? The kids heard it?
Starting point is 01:11:12 You're so loud. Oh, Daddy's just doing a... Yeah, Dad is just doing a joke. Well, can you tell me one, two, or three? One. You like one? I don't like any of them, but I don't get it. Well, if you have to pick one.
Starting point is 01:11:30 Come on, honey, because we're doing the kitchen over. So, that's how Daddy makes money. One, two, or three? One. Wow. Okay. All right. I love you guys.
Starting point is 01:11:41 Daddy's just joking, honey. Okay, bye. I love you. Sorry, Jess. So she picked... She picked one. She picked one. Want to call your wife.
Starting point is 01:11:51 Yeah. What's the one that she picked? Yeah. So here. So the three... The check marks that are circled. I think she's going to go with the Chinese payday. One, two, and three.
Starting point is 01:12:13 My question is, what could you possibly be doing? Yeah. I'm the one at work working hard. Telephone number. Nick, so that should be the clip, though, too. We should make that a clip for Patreon. That'll drive Patreon, too. So she's going with the PPW.
Starting point is 01:12:28 That's what she went with. She's going with the PPW. Okay, because I'm with Jesse. To be honest with you. So what's the score? What do we got? I'm with Chinese payday? Yeah, I'm with Chinese payday.
Starting point is 01:12:41 Shit. And you two are with... Well, I pick dog asshole and my wife pick PPW. The only thing about Chinese payday is if you don't live in the city, will you get it? Right? I don't think you'll get it. They're not Chinese in my neighborhood.
Starting point is 01:12:53 They're all Hispanic. That's why I didn't pick it. Right. Right. So maybe Chinese payday should be out and it should be between PPW and dog licking the asshole. Yeah, because Chinese payday is only funny if you live in a neighborhood where you see Chinese women collecting cans for recycled.
Starting point is 01:13:07 But my wife can make the decision. There it is. So read all three. Yeah. Hi, honey. Before you say anything, I just want you to know. I'm exploiting you for the Patreon episode. You're on it.
Starting point is 01:13:19 Come on. We have a little bit of a pickle here, so we had to call the wives to figure out who won the funniest Patreon name. Oh, okay. I liked this. I thought you were going to say something bad. No, no, no. Okay, so we need your help in thinking of which one you think is the funniest. Can the kids hear this or no?
Starting point is 01:13:40 I'm giving, yeah, I'm giving a smoothie. I'll walk away. Okay. Because unfortunately, my kids heard all three, and I didn't realize they were at least. listening so okay so here is what we got the first name is a fat bitch who loves piss call me a ppw which is you know we call the pseudopinous of the week but it's a playoff of bbw you know i don't know if you know okay okay so a fat bitch who loves piss call me a ppw or we got licking peanut butter off my dog's asshole yeah oh my god or we have uh a
Starting point is 01:14:18 This is the one I predict she's going to like. Or we have Recycling Day on my block, aka Chinese payday. If I know my wife, I know which one she's going to pay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I don't like the first day. Yeah, I nailed it.
Starting point is 01:14:39 Yeah. So you're going with the Chinese payday? Only because the first two I didn't, I don't like the P word. I don't like that word. You don't like that. Okay. And I don't like talking about dogs' butts.
Starting point is 01:14:51 Okay. Thanks, Ben. We appreciate to help. Thank you, Bratney. Thank you. We called the friend. We called the wife. This is how to be a millionaire.
Starting point is 01:15:01 That's what it is. And I would imagine that all of Nassau and Suffolk County, Long Island, would pick Chinese. That's the thing is I had a feeling that's where she was going to go. So our wives pick different ones. Yeah. Which shows you how hard this is. This is. So then I guess we're going to have to go.
Starting point is 01:15:16 It seems like PPW is the winner, though. Three to two. Three to two. To who? Chinese payday. Chinese payday. So Chinese payday is the winner. It's the winner.
Starting point is 01:15:25 So Chinese payday, congratulations. Go to history aniness is back.com. You won the vote. This is a history and his vote. This is also a wives vote. Recycling Day on my block, aka Chinese payday. Congratulations.
Starting point is 01:15:37 If you name up in lights, you get a nickel.
