Starting point is 00:00:00 You can take away my freedom, but you can never take away my car! We saw a fast 10, so you know what that means. Starting point is 00:00:38 To I'm life a typical way Shot me in the front, tell me how you stand And lie, they call me when they're bad ass And he's on the line Break the game, shake the game, it's cause they cool We're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're in shock, we're. Hello, family! And hello, family at Largo! Welcome to How To This Get Made Live for Fast 10. A movie that is just the beginning of the end. A movie that Vin Diesel compared to the Lord of the Rings. He did it in seriousness. A movie in which the bad guy is mad at the wrong guy. You forget for the entire movie that he didn't kill his dad.
Starting point is 00:01:47 Someone else killed his dad. Why is he going after him first, but we don't care. There are 45 people in this movie. If you've never seen a fast and furious, guess what? It doesn't make a difference. You'll figure it out. And if you don't, they're just fun characters. So tonight, to break down this movie,
Starting point is 00:02:13 to look at it from every different angle. Because I can't really break down the plot more than just saying this. You have to know a little bit of Fast Five, but if you don't see Fast Five, that's okay, because the first 20 minutes of this movie are Fast 5, so that's okay. And then everything else happens in a world in which everyone speaks English.
Starting point is 00:02:35 Everyone's able to travel around the world within minutes. This movie makes so much sense, but I will never attempt to break down the plot more than Jason Mamoah is mad. But we're going to break it all down tonight, and I'm going to do it with my co-hosts. Now, let me tell you something about my co-hosts. They're excited to be here, and I want to welcome them out to the stage. So please welcome to the stage. My co-host. Starting point is 00:03:27 Family, family, family, family, family. All right, buckle up assholes. This show's gonna be conservatively three and a half hours long. We cannot shut up in the back. We had to stop multiple text chains. Here's a thing. We've had people unsubscribe from the text chains because we're talking too much about the movie.
Starting point is 00:03:56 I told Jason, I saw this movie alone in a theater in the middle of Ohio, and I'm Max Theater. I yelled at the screen, I got up, I changed seats. It was the best movie experience I've ever had in my entire life. You and I saw first, right? You and I saw first, we knew the fun.
Starting point is 00:04:17 We knew what was up. We knew. You've seen it twice. Yes, I have seen, I'm gonna be honest with you guys. In the last three and a half years, I've been in a movie theater three times. Two of them were fast-ex, baby. And I wouldn't have it any other way.
Starting point is 00:04:40 I'll go again. Now I will say that this week was a sad week because normally I would accompany our next host to a theater to see the stuff. Oh People are like too invested But sadly some of us have to go alone But I will tell you this I didn't mind the thought of you going alone Let go alone. But I will tell you this. I didn't mind the thought of you going alone, but I did love the thought of my co-host
Starting point is 00:05:13 going alone at 11 a.m. with a cup of coffee in her hand. I just love leaving the house. Where are you going? The theater to see fast 10, 10 a.m.? I'll be dumb by 12.30. Ha-ha-ha. And now, life changed by noon. I'll play it one more time. Yeah!
Starting point is 00:05:56 Okay, hi, Paul. Hi, Jyn, how are you? I'm well, how are you? Very good. Um, you saw the movie? Yeah. In the AM. When the time still says AM on the clock, you were in a seat.
Starting point is 00:06:07 I was and I told the text chain we were on that I was going with a coffee in hand. There were no early showings of this movie. This was the earliest I could go. And I thought, well, I'm gonna get some work done in there. I'll watch, but I'll be doing some emails. What have I done? Yeah, be doing some emails. What work did you think you'd get done? I would love it if you did it like a self-tape I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm working on them, I'm gonna get a lot of admin done during this movie. Some life admin. I was riveted to the screen.
Starting point is 00:06:48 Yes! I couldn't take my eyeballs up. What was happening? At one point, I will tell you I had to get up and dance. Yes! That's what I'm talking about. This movie gets you out of the sea. The movie demands it. Now, we have two guests tonight. One has joined us to talk about fast and fairs in the past.
Starting point is 00:07:13 The other is how did this get made all-star? Been here before talked about a great film, but came to this fully prepared, watched all the films and Hobbs and Shaw. Yeah. Hold on. To be ready for tonight. So he will have the most information because I can't even remember what I just saw.
Starting point is 00:07:35 So to know the full 11, 11, 11 movies. Over the course of 22 years with this roughly the same cast This isn't a feat so Ladies and gentlemen, you know this person as a director as a producer. He as from our deep blue sea episode. Here we go Evan Gover! Cheers! Hello! Evan, welcome. Welcome, welcome.
Starting point is 00:08:11 Too many sleeves! I know. I told you already, this is my favorite shirt and I'm not cutting the fucking sleeves off. You offered to wear anybody who had an extra shirt you would cut off those sleeves. If you get... if someone will give me a sleeveless shirt I will gladly put it on right now.
Starting point is 00:08:25 You also generously offered to come out shirtless wearing everyone else's sleeves. And the offer stands, my friend. But Evan, welcome back. The last time we saw you, we talked about Deep Blue Sea, a movie that really, if you look at the both of them, they both are in a heightened world, right? I mean, I would believe that there's a shark in this movie,
Starting point is 00:08:47 if he told me there's a shark in this movie, I would feel. I feel very comfortable saying D. Blue C is far less heightened than this film. Yeah, I guess you're right. I will say that the director of this movie said that what he brings to the franchise is grounding. Thank God. Multiple times, when interviewed about this film,
Starting point is 00:09:08 he says, Justin Lin let it get too far out there. I wanted to ground it in reality. So, a mission accomplished. Well, in the past, like, we've seen them drive cars out of airplanes rather into space. This one had the very grounded element of driving down a dam. To be honest, I have to say, though, Jason, at points I did think, oh, the physics of this film make more sense to me. I did.
Starting point is 00:09:40 I felt they would agree. They made more sense. Hey. Do you remember when Vin used a car to smash two helicopters together? I do! And I still think- I think that might disagree with your theory. Once again!
Starting point is 00:09:52 It's a curious one to the others. Once again, cars are the hands of these movies. Yeah. They are used to grab, save, catch, throw, swing,
Starting point is 00:10:03 anything you can do with a hand and an arm that's the car. Yeah, fuck it. Think about it. I mean, jack off. Anything. What do you think the nods? Anyone, anyone who can change their own oil can also bring down the helicopters with grappling hooks.
Starting point is 00:10:21 It's fine. He's a car guy. You know what they do. And this is actually the first movie with electric hooks. It's fine. He's a car guy. You know what they do. And this is actually the first movie with electric cars. That's a big thing in this movie. I don't know when they ever drove one, but it's in a lot of the press materials. That electric car.
Starting point is 00:10:36 Did they talk about it? But they're never highlighted if they are. Do you mean the actors were just driven in vans to set that were electric? Yeah, I did not see an electric car in this movie. I didn't either. I'm sure they're in there, but they make a big deal. I'm sure we don't like electric cars.
Starting point is 00:10:50 They're the cannon cars. They're the cannon cars. The John Cena had. That was electric. Oh, I bet that's it. Yes. Every rocket was electric and very carbon neutral. But quickly, what's your take away?
Starting point is 00:11:01 You've watched them all recently. You've seen all 11 recently. What do you fall, where do you fall in this franchise? Like any just overview thoughts. I mean, I feel like you guys might disagree, but this is where it went fucking insane. This move, yeah. This is the movie where it went to fucking madness level.
Starting point is 00:11:18 It was like, everything before this. It was like, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was like, it was like, This has like gone over the edge into like the depths of madness.
Starting point is 00:11:25 I'm not gonna talk about it now because I would like to talk about it when we have everybody out here. But there's a scene with Memoa where I was like, oh, now we've passed reality. And for me to even have that thought in this movie, that really went far. Like it goes really far. So anyway, this movie may have been the one that broke it. Maybe we're gonna get even more in the next two, but you know what, let's talk about this one tonight with our final guest of the night. He was here for Fast and Furious.
Starting point is 00:11:52 You know him as a, how did this get made all star? He also has his introduction right here. Here we go, skit it out, area. Step, rockin'! Seth Rogen Yes Wow welcome Welcome fast family Seth it was only a few weeks ago and which we saw fast one and I'm so glad that we saw fast one to then look at fast 10 because it's wild.
Starting point is 00:12:28 Oh yeah. The differences like it come a long way. It really has like they were drag racers and they are now superheroes. Yeah. I think they're immortal. Oh yeah. I mean, they're running a spy shop from their house. Like, they're fully giving out missions.
Starting point is 00:12:49 We have to talk about the fact that he just lives in his house for an hour. That, wait, did I miss something? Like, they're looking for him. Yeah. He's at home. Yep. He's at home. Yep. He never leaves home.
Starting point is 00:13:06 He only leaves home for a couple of days every few years. And what we have to assume is that Momoa's been there the whole time. For the last 10 years, Momoa's been just like watching everything. And he's like seeing the house blow up, be remilial. He can't stop. He's like, he can't stop.
Starting point is 00:13:29 That is the thing that is up there. He's the contractor they had. He was, so the floorboards getting in stock. He's like, it's good they're putting his sauna in. They need it. I can't do anything the same, just like last. And Charlize shows up and he's like, they're coming for you. And he's like, I've been home.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Yeah. It's like neutral ground. It's like an embassy. He lives in the, that's the fast and furious embassy where everything else circles us. But it is. Which is Echo Park. Well, let me think, please,
Starting point is 00:13:58 what I love, what I love though about it is, from the first movie, you know, clearly it's had a house in Echo Park. They didn't think this was gonna be going around for 20 years. And don't forget their sandwich shop. Where's the sandwich shop? Where's the cafe? Where's the tuna sandwich? We need it! Somebody hypothesized that that was just a cover
Starting point is 00:14:18 for the DVD-VCR sales put. But I don't think so because I don't think that you could write off that many sandwiches. That would be a hard way to long for money. Yeah, we sold 4,000 sandwiches this month. Well, at one point in the movie, we do get into how much money they have. Oh, right. Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Money's a big part by moving. I was so fascinated by that. I'm like, okay, so they've been making money per job, I guess. I guess. Right, but we've had no sense of any real upward mobility. Their stations and life also see, which is wonderful. He lives in the same house.
Starting point is 00:14:55 Yes. He lives in the same house. He's able to redo it to its exact specifications every time. That's really rich shit. It's like, make it again, but don't change a goddamn thing. I want the exact floorboard. I want the tiny bedroom. The same cobwebs in the garage on the window.
Starting point is 00:15:12 Well, this is what I was thinking of that when they first shot that movie, their next door neighbor, it's just a side view, but it's fully caged in. Like, shit's gone down in the neighbor's like, I'm putting a cage here, and I want anyone in my backyard. Now, first of all, if you live next to them, I think you're very safe, but I love that thing.
Starting point is 00:15:31 I disagree. I disagree. If you live next door to the Toretto's, you're fucked. There's so much heat on that. That house has exploded at least once. I think they bat themselves into a corner by having Paul Walker's character still be alive but being completely absent.
Starting point is 00:15:57 But the audience knows he has passed. So we look at him with reverence like you have passed. But then we also treat him like a deadbeat dead because that opening family picnic, his wife is there, and he's not. And his son is not. Right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:14 I'm sorry, wait. Oh, two kids. Who's child? You're going to ask who? Who's child little B? Who's child little B? Yes. OK, who do you think are little B's parents?
Starting point is 00:16:24 LAUGHTER Little B. Yes. Okay, who do you think are Little B's parents? I thought that Little B's dad is Vin Diesel? Yes. Okay, and then Michelle Rodriguez's Little B's mom. No. No. It's happening! It's happening! I'm happy! I'm happy! I'm happy! I'm happy! I'm happy! I'm happy!
Starting point is 00:16:46 All of my dreams have come true! This little piece, mom! So, okay. It's obviously Elena. Elena. Elena. Elena. The woman who is killed by Charlize on the plane in the...
Starting point is 00:17:02 Why about that? You can say the daughter. She was the rock's right hand woman in five. The last one. But June, the dog's a Brazilian cop. Oh, you would have heard what roommates for two, so remember who you are. Okay, remember when Vin Diesel goes to Brazil in this movie.
Starting point is 00:17:16 I don't remember. In this movie. He goes to Brazil and he races against a young Brazilian racer. Yes, and actually at one point I thought, is he her dad? No, by the way, legitimate question. Or did he want to fuck her? I was like, both.
Starting point is 00:17:33 Oh, yeah, both. He was like, doing that job. Oh, no, that's his, he's her local. And there's an incredible line. What's the moves? Little B is a long walker's local. There's an incredible line in the movie where she says,
Starting point is 00:17:45 you go save your son, period. My nephew. She, they have to explain. They have to, there's no subtext. There is just text in this movie of, let me tell you. So she is the sister of the dead mother. That's, that's Little B's mom. That's Little B's mom? That's little B's mom.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Now, little B, little B. Now that does open a lot of questions. Open up a lot of questions. Now, by the way, here's what I'll bring up about little B that's also problematic. Wait, wait, so that's Elena Nevez and Dom Toretto made little B. Yes. Ah, and Isabelle is, okay, Elena's sister.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Yes, I love it. But there is definitely chemistry. And Elena is okay, right? Letty kind of, like a little B. Well, letty's amnesia went away. Letty, little B calls, letty mom. Yes. Because the baby was just a baby when Shaw saved the baby
Starting point is 00:18:44 on Charley's. We shot, dude. Oh, yeah. Stay them. That little B is the baby that's Stay them put headphones on and jumped out of an airplane. Now, but wait. That's little B.
Starting point is 00:18:54 That's little B. That's little B. This is why we're here. Now we're doing the work. Wait a second. Genuine, flexible. This is why I went twice. Now to bring it all the way back, to bring it all the way back,
Starting point is 00:19:09 I'll say this. Why is it a little bit interesting? Well, he's named Brian. After Paul Walker. Huh. Why would you name your son after your best friend who's still alive? A lot. And not the son's mother who is dead.
Starting point is 00:19:25 And this is, yes, yes. At this point, at this point in time, Brian, Paul Walker's character is a dick for not coming and helping ever. Like by keeping him alive, they are now creating a situation where he seems like he doesn't care about any of them.
Starting point is 00:19:45 And his wife's whose main move is hitting people with a frying pan. Yeah, that's good news. Go steep into the action while he's just out and he's the best fighter in the whole thing. Oh yeah. Well, it's like, Brian has an unnamed daughter. That is true. They have two kids. One is just daughter.
Starting point is 00:20:01 And the other one is Jack. Name to have the Pearl Jamson. And the other one named Jack the Pearl Jam song and the other one is Jack, but it seems like He has just whimmed out or cuz it's like they're all fighting these missions. That is slander against that They show Jack. No, he's not Jack is yet. We only see We only see Mia as the auntie too little B. We never see her as the mom. As a mother to her own children. And sadly, she's like, I have to go to Brian and the kids and seeing as like, okay, you go to them and she's like, okay, gotta go, I gotta go be with them.
Starting point is 00:20:34 And then she goes away in the movie because they're not there. They're not there. There are no people to go to. And she goes Mia's, me and Brian are safe at one point. Right, that's the only line to just say, hey, but yet we have this moment where he stares at pictures of people who are dead, including his father,
Starting point is 00:20:56 and we the audience are like, yeah, but he's not dead, but he is dead. Well, we also, they also play an instant wimpsle. That's mental. They also put the music in that is the song that was the end of... The Whiskelifa song. The Whiskelifa song. It's the end of episodes number seven, right? Just so you know, if you're trying to clear that song
Starting point is 00:21:17 for a joke, they won't do it. Ha-ha-ha-ha! And it's for all the views in the movie. Don't worry, there is two to three previously on's in the movie. Wow. Reacher does one that's very long. I was, I loved Reacher.
Starting point is 00:21:35 The whole movie is really like, it is just a playground for enormous men to get together and be together in community with each other. And you're absolutely right. In affinity with yes. And what's amazing is that all of these gigantic men have gotten together in one single movie to dramatically destroy the life of a child so profoundly,
Starting point is 00:22:03 turning him into when Lady goesedi goes we have an unwanted visitor you know what to do and little B has to be like okay okay little B we are watching little B be so traumatized this kid will never feel safe anywhere ever again he's we watch little B kill more people for the first time and high five his uncle. Yeah. This we are giving birth to a, if they're not making a Patrick Bateman style, psycho killer with little B later. I don't know what's up.
Starting point is 00:22:38 I felt like the training of little B for one of his big moments at the end was really flawed. Like there's a whole sequence in the beginning, where little B, Vin tells him to just, like, feel the car and feel the rhythms of the car. Fire, fire, fire, fire. Yeah, but then what he's required to do at the end of the movie, that skill set has nothing to do with it. Nope.
Starting point is 00:23:02 He's required to leap. He's tied a little body and fly the line of the other guy. The driving lesson, surprise, turns out to be a flying lesson. Yeah. Like, that is, that's the twist of the movie. Like, he was never teaching him how to drive. He was teaching him how to fly. Well, OK, so I was early on, I got really excited.
Starting point is 00:23:26 And I might do think this movie, there are some improvements. There, because when Rita Marino, there are. I just, I just, if you don't mind, even started talking about the movie. Yeah. I want to just say, the line was, find the line, feel the car, and let it ride. That would have been a few weeks. Which, if you told me that that and then told me to jump. I would say I don't understand that properly.
Starting point is 00:23:48 And then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, and then, I just believe that. There was a few great lines in the movie that me and Evan were marveling over. The best line in the movie,
Starting point is 00:24:08 game recognizes day. If you're not using that in your day-to-day life, you're fucking up. You need to be using that as much as possible. Michelle Rodriguez says that, like, with so little iron, like, I've never said anything with that little iron. Like, it is, it is so pure.
Starting point is 00:24:27 Like, I'm gonna say that to you when we're writing from now on. Game recognizes game. Good joke, Seth. Game recognizes game. Well, they, and this game, I recognize your game. And it's still to me unclear why they have such an adversarial relationship, which is like
Starting point is 00:24:47 letty and charles. Oh, it makes no sense. It makes no sense. She killed, she killed, she killed, she killed, she killed, her husband's ex-wife. She killed little bees mom. One of the only deaths that I believe will never be undone. Okay. Are you crazy? Are you out of your mind?
Starting point is 00:25:07 That would be amazing. Everyone's coming home. I hope Mortal joke was no joke. John Cena has to come back. Well, John Cena's coming back. Oh, he's coming back. Because the power of God, like Christ is going, like, is he grabbed that cross?
Starting point is 00:25:21 Yes, yes. As Jewish people, I got, we got real weird throughout this day. Yeah, that's true, man. Vin Diesel is on a Christ-like journey in this. I'm not kidding. I'm just kidding. Christian Subtext. Don't get me wrong.
Starting point is 00:25:36 Don't fucking wave a cross in this. I hope you like resurrection, because that's a nonstop kid. That's gonna be a good thing. He's coming back. I'm so much like a cross. Letting gets crucified by a cross, right? Because Bri Larson stabs her through like, she stabs her through the cross.
Starting point is 00:25:55 Well, the whole thing is all about who? Which happens in deep blue sea. Same thing, yeah, like this. They stab a shark with a cross. Both religious allegories. And that's how it's a little bit more grounded. Speaking of great lines. The other line I just wanted to say, one good line
Starting point is 00:26:11 that I love that keep on thinking about is Ramsey, who originally had a hair. Oh, this isn't an... I wrote this line up. Ramsey, who is just like a hacker and kind of shy, she just says, yeah, I know stuff now. She says, she says, she says a bunch of cards on this. But just her, I know stuff. Yeah, so you know, I got some rewrite.
Starting point is 00:26:32 She goes, oh, that's right, I know stuff now. Well, what I like about that is, like stuff like hacking the world's greatest security system. Yeah, he's below stuff that is engines. Yeah, exactly. Like, about a 40-year-old car? Cool. I think what I was shocked to figure out this late in the series
Starting point is 00:26:51 is that these are faith-based movies. These are truly movies that worship a God. Only the God is. The God is. It's going to come in at the end. This God, this Christ is Dominic Toretto. It's not Jesus Christ. This is, can you believe he hasn't been crucified
Starting point is 00:27:11 in a film? I think it's coming. Oh, he will be. I believe, and we can get into specifics of it, but Charlize, Brie Larson, and Jason Mamoah bring a likeness to this franchise that I felt like. Sina as well.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Sina, I'm Sina. Sina gets Sina. Sina's in respect on his name. Is on the next level because Sina gets it. Sina gets it. Sina gets it. I will be a fucking idiot and he embraces it and it's like, oh.
Starting point is 00:27:38 He's not afraid to look dumb. Yes, so refreshing. So refreshing. It's so refreshing. He takes, he's the only person that takes L in this movie. We made blockers with him and we did a butt-jugging scene and he was cool with it.
Starting point is 00:27:51 He was pretty cool, but the only thing he does like to wear shorts and I saw him in the movie and I was like, he got his shorts, good for him. Ah! He got, it's tough to fit that body into the body. Yeah, he's like, I got big calves, man, what do you want? But, what's so crazy to me about Cena in this movie? Because I love him in this movie.
Starting point is 00:28:09 And it's like, and again, it's like a breath of fresh air. And that's how I feel about like that first scene with Mamoa and Charlie's. Like, oh, this is not like the tone that I'm used to. And I love it. I'm like, well, this is what this is what Vindas doesn't understand. And I love Vindas and let me just say that clearly and loudly. But what he doesn't understand is, like, John Cena does look ridiculous for a lot of the movie.
Starting point is 00:28:32 At his death scene, when he blew up in that car, I was devastated. Yeah. He'll be back. He'll be back. Don't worry. I knew he can be the wing now. He'll be the most-
Starting point is 00:28:42 I mean, we'll look. He's innocent, but no matter how. I mean, we'll look. We've already seen better. How? I mean, the fact that Jacelle is back. I mean, oh, in the best reveal ever, like obviously she's not there. No one's there. They got her on a green screen one day at her house in her backyard.
Starting point is 00:28:58 And we dug a hole in your yard. Will you pop out of it? The fact that she pops out of that fucking submarine with binoculars, like. She's on a zoom, for sure. Oh yeah. Yeah. That is iPhone footage.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Oh, but I was gonna say with John Cena, what I love about John Cena is that John Cena is not the character that he was in the last movie. No, not at all. You know objectively, right? Oh my God. He's basically like peacemaker. He's doing like a funny character rip.
Starting point is 00:29:39 It's like the last movie is like, shut the fuck up, I'm gonna fucking kick your ass. And now he's like, I'm chill, I'm cool dude. He's like, I've got, I've got mixed tapes. I think it's like, it's like, he's like, this is what therapy does. You go from that guy and you become this guy. He also, like, I love one of the things
Starting point is 00:29:56 is how like, it could grow in the wardrobe is in general throughout the movie. Like, John Cena's like in like a future vest. Like, yes, like go into the fucking gas station. Go into the gas station, like, John Cena's like in like a future vest, like, like, going to the fucking gas station. Going to the gas station, like, well, no one finds us. Like, in like a future vest, like, if you saw guy in that vest, you'd be like, that man's from the future, like, you would, you would just call the cops immediately. And then Jason safe in the whole time, and then like, sweats and a hoodie.
Starting point is 00:30:20 And like, that's his whole, and you're like, that's his outfit. Like, that's it. But my favorite, like, that's his outfit, like, that's it. But he's just in sweats on a hoodie. I feel like his storyline is dangerous for children. I feel like there's a lot of creeps that are like, you wanna go on an adventure? Get in quick, your uncle wants me to go and, but he's a, yeah, there's something,
Starting point is 00:30:43 there is, I could not help but look through the eyes of the little B at all times in a way that was truly shattering for that side. See, I think the filmmakers were like, this is how you become a Toretto. Absolutely. There is something so funny about that character is the loser uncle who also took down a house of 40 dudes by himself
Starting point is 00:31:09 with his bare face. Maybe Mia kicked some ass. Oh yeah, she does, yeah. Frank Pen. With her patented frying pan. I watched every film in the last month with my wife, who's birthday is here and she's in the audience. Yes.
Starting point is 00:31:19 And Mia Toretto uses a frying pan as a weapon eight times. You would think they would give her a gun by now. Well, it's the same with the grappling hooks. Like, there's certain things that they do at every movie, but nobody fucking knows it. And like, do you know grappling hooks are in every Fast and Furious movie? No!
Starting point is 00:31:38 They're in the first, I think what it is, if it's in the first one, they like reverse canonize it. Right, I don't know how, but we gotta get these paparazzi. They're gonna want these grappling hooks in as you're watching it. You're like, why are they using fucking grappling hooks all the time?
Starting point is 00:31:53 Because it's what they do. They're grappling hook-oriented. These movies are underwritten by big grappling. I also like that, like we gotta get into Mamoa because I, I wanna, like we got into Mamoah because I... I wanna... I wanna do... I think we're mixed on Mamoah over here.
Starting point is 00:32:10 Yes, first time. We get to know one thing. Oh, interesting. He gave it 110. He gave it 110. This is the thing, too, is that I also feel like if you watch this movie with the thought of, I'm trying to make Vin Diesel laugh in every scene. Like, that's the only goal.
Starting point is 00:32:27 It's like, you got to see the off camera, Jason Momoa as the fully on camera, because it's like, let me get this guy to fucking laugh. And Vin Diesel never broke, so he's like, gotta turn it up. Gotta, gotta, now I gotta dance, I gotta, like I feel like it's everything was at the movies. What, what, were he just danced in every shot? Yeah, he was I feel like it's everything was at the room. But where he just danced in every shot.
Starting point is 00:32:46 Yeah. He was literally like piroued out. And then there's the scene where he's got the two corpses. That's the scene where he's going to do it. We're getting into that. Oh, that's insane. I'm a theory on that scene and we were talking about it. It's like, I think they watched it cut and we're like, he just seems like
Starting point is 00:33:03 flamboyant and not, and that's it. And not crazy. And not crazy. And they're like, we need to make him Flamboyant and crazy. So he should be hanging out with corpses. That is the scene to me that I was saying to you in the beginning, that's where the reality of this film broke.
Starting point is 00:33:19 I'm like, this guy is having a moment to paint the toenails of people that he's killed and serve them margaritas. And like, where is everyone else? Like, where is everyone else? And I was just like, on a time management level. Yes, but he's just like, something backyard somewhere. Like, what he read up all about all of it though is he's talking to the two corpses and
Starting point is 00:33:42 they each get reaction shots. Yes. So the filmmakers shoot it and edit it like it's a conversation. Yeah, cut the course too. Cut the course too. That's where this movie goes to the next life. It was like legitimately horrific. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:57 What I do think, my wife was traumatized. I was as well. It's like, oh no. Lisa screamed, no thank you. I do think you're says, screamed, no, thank you. I do think you're right, though, that this movie is, you know, obsessed with masculinity, Christianity, all of it. And they have this man, this man who is playing very feminine. And so they had to make him a serial.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Yes, like a... Like, there was no other way to justify his presence in this movie. If he's wearing glasses, he's psyched up. He's psyched up. And what I wanted so much, and I said it to Jason before, I want him to kiss Dom. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:35 Let's race, and then he pulls him in. And then he kissed for like 30 seconds. And it's like, and we just hold. And like a first pentease was like not into it. And then he's like, all right, I'm into it. Because wouldn't it be great if during like a brutal fight? Momo just leans in and smooches him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:54 I know that when I can tell sometimes in my notes, I'm just going through them. I can tell sometimes in my notes how stoned I was when I watched the movie because of the jokes that I write? One of which is in the Rome scene when Mamoa shows up, I wrote down, uh-oh, Mamoa. Ha-ha. Nope. Well, by the way, not great.
Starting point is 00:35:18 By the way, but I thought so funny. I got to write that in my notes. By the way, I mean, that should have been in the movie because they also take a 22nd detour to make a hon get high on like a pop brownie There's no reason for it. Why is gonna be so now? You're like oh no I want David sin was in this movie. Yeah, I Would like to argue that point all David Sin was in this movie. Yeah. I would like to argue that point. All right. Was he in this movie?
Starting point is 00:35:49 Ha, ha. Okay, first of all, this is the guy who's in control of the London Underground. No offense to Pete Davidson, but I don't think that, like, we's not British. Yes. But Michaela Cole in there put Richard Ioane in there, like give me somebody who's British. Yes. But McCale call in there. Put Richard Ioane in there.
Starting point is 00:36:07 Like, give me somebody who's British. Don't put it this. Why is he in control of the London underground? Oh, or give us a reason why he is. Or build something out. There is, to have neither, and put one of us in there. Yes.
Starting point is 00:36:21 Yes. Woo. Put Junan. Junan British accent. Do during the British accent. Do the British accent. And that's where they kick off the storyline where it's all about just how Tyrese is fed tick more of his personal money than he would like to be spending so much more. Also, like his best of money, if every one of those bills was a $10,000 bill, he still couldn't afford the shit in of money. If every one of those bills was a $10,000 bill, he still couldn't afford the shit in their body.
Starting point is 00:36:46 It's like, you're buying tanks. Yeah. And by the way, Max, like Max, he's got $15,000. It was played as though it's like a fanny pack. We all have them. Everyone's got a vest filled with money that they have sometimes. One of their buddies at least.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Well, but he also, like, what's so crazy about that scene is Roman is revealed to be the largest idiot of all time. Because they are trying to buy tanks. He's like, here's a hundred bucks. Like, wait a second, you've been in all these movies. You understand that that's not even gas. Like, he's also like, I think the third best driver in their logic.
Starting point is 00:37:24 Yeah, right. Yeah. He's a real car guy. And they don't like the fact that he, I mean, I get it's a joke, but it's also at a level of like stupidity that is really at a certain point concerning. Like I'm concerned about the well being and welfare of these people that hit the head. They have a lot of the head in the beginning.
Starting point is 00:37:45 They have a lot of trauma. In the beginning, they have to set it up where Dom's like to, huh, and he's like, eh, Roman wanted to do this mission. So I couldn't tell him no, but so the whole, that's like that. So you know, he's an idiot. So I need you to do it. I need make sure you go on this trip because I can't leave him in charge of it. And I'm like, what is, and then they are constantly selling
Starting point is 00:38:07 Tyrese out over and over again, so much so that he and Ludicrous have to get into like a slap fight with each other. Which is- That was also not good. Not good. It's also not like the mission is like throw a brunch. Like it is life or death. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:38:23 What is the mission? There is no mission There's no cars and uh They think a computer chip or something but it turns out to be the Gilligan's island But they need God's eye for something What are they trying to do in the second half of the movie? Just get back to the rest of the group? Oh, they're all trying to get back to that
Starting point is 00:38:44 It depends on who you're talking about. This is an interesting movie because this movie allows for John. We're still in the first act. We're still in the first act. The movie ends in the first act. We all scream like, what? I have never been, like,
Starting point is 00:38:56 it would be like, if this show ended now. Yeah. Like, the finale of the sopranos was like shocking of an ending. Then when this movie says- Well, if it's a true three-part movie, the end of the movie is the end of the first act. So we have so much going on.
Starting point is 00:39:12 I'm in fact, this is exactly like when Legolas goes down the river. Ah, they're going to fucking Eisengarter, whatever, no difference. It is unfulfilling to end the movie where it ends because it's like, okay, well, like even if you cut with him just going down, like cut out there.
Starting point is 00:39:33 You're just a thing. I think it's very, I think it's very troubling to be like, oh, it's three movies. It's like, it's been 10 movies. It's been, you can't tell us that this is one of three. It's like, we're in number, we're in X. You know? There's already been so many parts.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Right, this should be the natural conclusion. It's like a k-turn of an ending. It's like, oh, it's getting the spot. We got to pull out, pull in. And I want to call this now. After the third one of this trilogy, it's going to end, and then there's going to be a mid-credits sequence. It's going to fucking start up all over again.
Starting point is 00:40:11 For fucking sure. You come back to Little Bowel from two. He never did race me. How did this get me? So VNX actually gets quieter in this movie and more stoic than he's ever been. He actually shows some vulnerability in this one. I agree.
Starting point is 00:40:29 It all wires. Yeah. I love Vin Diesel. I love you. I actually think he's the thing that makes these like I like Hobbs and Shaw, but I think like his absence is what makes that movie feel like the thing is like as many tones as there are in the movie, he works in everyone because he takes them all so seriously.
Starting point is 00:40:49 Yes, yes. Like, you never winking at the camera, he's never in his head, you see, he's like, these are the best fucking movies ever made. Yes. I have to take them as seriously as anything. I need you to understand that he, Vin Diesel, in this movie, Dom is alone on a solo Christ-like journey in the desert. He saves the Vatican!
Starting point is 00:41:17 He saves the Vatican! I'm playing Pimbal! Pimbal with a giant nautical bomb that everyone is familiar with. Oh, it's that. We got it. I know. I know. Luticris knows every bomb on Earth and all their smack.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Oh my god. He identifies it. This is what I see. This is what I see. No, that the threat of the bomb is not that it's going to be detonating. Nope. It's just that the size of it rolling around is going to hurt people. And it literally is, I feel like it's inspired by a pinball game.
Starting point is 00:41:46 Absolutely. And where I thought it was- He goes downstairs on the side in that car. That car still has no problem with traction. It uses the car to shield the restaurant. People from the fire? Oh, well, that's the other thing. So many people get killed in this movie.
Starting point is 00:42:03 No. I know what they don't show it, but they have to, right? The other thing, so many people get killed in this movie. No! I know what they don't show it, but they have to, right? But the collateral damage, there was no fatalities. No fatalities. No fatalities. That's bullshit. That's the ball. When that bomb goes off, it shoots cars forward by 100 feet.
Starting point is 00:42:20 There's somebody walking around the back in the day. No, people would have died just naturally in that area. This one, I know, you're not men of faith. Because if you were, you would understand. They would have been great if they said 150 people died, but then mysteriously resurrected. Resurrected, yeah. I have a question I'm dying to ask.
Starting point is 00:42:39 There are 12 main characters up until this film. Then they introduce five more main characters up until this film, then they introduce five more main characters. Do we think they're gonna add five more in every subsequent film? Well, there's more characters to bring back, right? Because like, if we go back to, if we go back to the charts, this is our simple cast for fast ten, it's two, four, six, eight, ten, twelve, fourteen, sixteen, eighteen, twenty, twenty-two, twenty-five, twenty-seven characters with then 28, 29 characters that pop up. Not enough.
Starting point is 00:43:10 Right. And by the way, one of them, one of them is Paul Walker's daughter. Yes. She is the flight attendant. She's the flight attendant. But she was like a spy flight attendant. Yes, the spy flight attendant. Yeah, she's helping Uncle Jake about.
Starting point is 00:43:22 I also felt bad for Diago or Diaggio. Yeah, I love that for him. Who really sticks up for Vin Diesel, protect him from getting killed, and then Vin Diesel has no hesitation. Well, because he thinks he thinks he's like, oh, I'm gonna win, and that's, okay. So that's like being Judas.
Starting point is 00:43:37 Like he has a cross Jesus and must die for his choice. Okay, so that, okay, so that makes sense. That was very clear. He's a huge, huge, huge, huge, huge. Wait, don't we,, so that makes sense. That was very clear. Cute, that hubris. He's guilty of hubris. Are John Cena and Jertana Brewster siblings? Yeah, I didn't realize that until 20 minutes ago. And Rita Moreno is all of their mothers.
Starting point is 00:43:56 Yes. Should we talk about Rita Moreno or just stay away from it? I mean, the fact that they bring her into this, I mean, she doesn't even really, I mean, the next one opens with her killing like 20 miles. Well, her, her, her. I think, I think they're setting up Rita Moreno to fight Queenie.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Well, it's interesting though, because the whole mood, all of these movies are based on like the patriarchy of the Toretto family, and passing along like the legacy of what is to be a man in this family. And so when she arrived, I was like, I didn what is to be a man in this family. And so when she arrived, I was like, I didn't know they had a mom.
Starting point is 00:44:28 I just have never... She's the grandmother. Grandma. She's the grandma, so they do not have a mom. We're here. ...a creative sereno. And you are the next movie. Oh, so it is still about the men and the family.
Starting point is 00:44:46 Wait a second, I just realized that. See, we on the reno says to Dom, you honor his name. When he's looking at pictures of his dead father, her dead son, Jack Toretto. Jack Toretto. It's like that is his name. Don't bother about my name. Yeah, he was named. But where is his mom?
Starting point is 00:45:03 So Jack Taredo had, oh, Jack Taredo had me, Taredo, Jacob Taredo, and Dom Taredo. His dad birthed him. And there's no, yeah, there's no mom. That's the thing. Every Taredo was squozed for a penis. He was born as a back of a bar.
Starting point is 00:45:18 He was born as a man. He was born in a muffler. He was born out of a naaz container. His dad fucked a naaz container. And the only way to educate the birth is you have to go 120 miles an hour and hit the naaz. It looks like he'll like when a snake eats a person, but in reverse.
Starting point is 00:45:39 I think that Vin Diesel was born the same way that we saw the birth of that guy who was in Shaw's punching bag. Jim Brewer? I don't know. That was Jim Brewer. I think that's how everyone's born in here. They get punched enough by Shaw, then they birth out of there. Who was that guy? Shaw feels like he should be fighting guys in shape.
Starting point is 00:45:58 That just feels like easy pickin'. He was just punishing that guy. That's from another movie. That's from Hobbs and Shaw. What? That's really, movie. That's from Hobbs and Shaw. What? I'm brushing my road dishes. That's really, yeah, there you go. But that gag is from another movie,
Starting point is 00:46:10 where it introduces someone punching a punching bag and then he wrote a real shit. That gag was great and I loved it. It was a good gag. I didn't like, well, I guess again, there's some big comedy. Like that guy's like, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, like, ooh.
Starting point is 00:46:22 They were only like 20 people in our theater and that big killed. Oh, I can imagine. And maybe that's where this director understands I was like, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, like, you know, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like,
Starting point is 00:46:31 you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like,
Starting point is 00:46:38 you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like, you're like It's gonna be the biggest and best one yet. It's gonna be the biggest and best one yet, and in so many ways it's gonna be the biggest event in some ways, it's just the fact that we're continuing. In some ways, the fact that we're continuing our saga, and we have incredible talent like Tyree's Gibson that lives in the role of Roman. And because of Roman, we decided to do it, put me in Rome.
Starting point is 00:47:07 Get it, Roman, Roman. Roman, Roman. Wait, wait. It's all because of Roman beers. We're gonna go to Rome. I got an idea. I got an idea. Look through the world, put me in Rome, Roman.
Starting point is 00:47:19 Roman, see? We're not going to have to join together. Decisions being made in Rome, that I'm not in. Give me a hug, man. Oh. I love you, man. I love you. I love you, man.
Starting point is 00:47:29 That's what I love you. I love you. That's all you need to know. You know, we're starting to run. What is... We shouldn't be allowed to see each other. We shouldn't be allowed to see each other. All part of the same miracle.
Starting point is 00:47:39 Shh. That. What's amazing... What's amazing is that that gets at one of the things that's like, this movie is so, like I love when this movie tries to do jokes, and one of them is the Roman play on Roman's name, which is then they go,
Starting point is 00:47:58 the only Roman you know is Roman noodles. That's a huge joke. That's a huge joke. That's a huge joke. That was a great, that was a good joke. I mean, I was actually thinking like, the opening of this movie also, because I saw the trailer for Oppenheimer before this. Very similar, yeah, very similar. Right, and I felt like with that bomb,
Starting point is 00:48:20 that's kind of what was going on. I was like, I heard him making Oppenheimer. We'll fucking do it in the first 20 minutes of our movie. And better, because it's like, the bomb looked exactly the same. When they're launching it up in the trailer before me, we're like, it's the same bomb. I think it's the Oppenheimer bomb. I want the Oppenheimer bomb.
Starting point is 00:48:38 Roll it through, roll. All of the flaming pinball room stuff, ending in Dom, hitting a crane that comes around like a flipper in pinball. And then he keeps driving. Yes, he keeps driving. He drives. It is so fun to watch someone just exist as an immortal on earth, unfazed as long as he's in a car from beginning to end, in the end he's like,
Starting point is 00:49:09 the only mistake you made was not taking away my car. And that's it, that's it. As long as he's got a car, he can do it. It's also, I believe, the first time we ever see him buckle up. The first time seat belts have ever been used. Go in the van. He's like, in the van with Reacher, he's like,
Starting point is 00:49:26 you should buck a lot. A creature. By the way, Jack Reacher, he's great. He's great. He's great. And shot an alt scene there at the end of the arc. You know what? Why don't you just be in cahoots with Jason Momoa?
Starting point is 00:49:36 He's like, and they did it. And that was that. He didn't know it. Like, he didn't know it. He wasn't playing it that way. That was not in the script. They're like, yeah, you guys are in coutes. No, can I ask a question?
Starting point is 00:49:47 What is the agency? Yes. Great question. Is it tax funded? I don't know. What are they trying to do? I think it's like shield in the Marvel movie. Yes.
Starting point is 00:50:00 They're not trying to do it. Oh, aren't they? They're trying to do everything. Well, they also have like a, like he basically has like a John Wick system. He's like, who wants to, like, who wants to kill Tom Toretto? I was like, I do.
Starting point is 00:50:12 I do. It's like, it's all like a who wants to be a millionaire gamer. Some weird like everyone's so weird. It's like, some sort of like illuminati, Kingsman style like independent agency. It feels like it used to be the CIA and they were like, this is too heavy for people. We need to simplify this shit.
Starting point is 00:50:28 And it also feels like they answered to the CIA government. They answered to a shadow government. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. The audience is. The audience is for the agency. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:40 What that is? A very agency. There is a movie. This is a movie where the entire time you are believing this makes sense Jason Mamo is after Vin Diesel cuz Vin Diesel is doing bad until at the end you realize oh no No, the rock killed his dad like again like they don't want you to think that hard He put the bullet in him, but did he really kill him? I mean the way that they show first of all That was a surprise to me and I what I
Starting point is 00:51:02 The way that they show first of all, that was a surprise to me, and I left for joy that the rock is back. I legitimately, the rock. I 100% thought it was gonna be a CG construct of Paul Walker. I need to. Oh, man. Paul is saving it.
Starting point is 00:51:16 Paul Walker will be in these movies. They're waiting for the technology to get there. The movie is already basically written by AI. The mid-journey was only designed to create Paul Walker CG. Totally. He will be in these films. Another cameo I lightly thought was gonna happen is when the two semi-trucks pulled up at the end,
Starting point is 00:51:36 I half thought one of them was gonna turn into Optimus Prime. Ah. I like legit. I thought one of them was just gonna walk, walk, walk, walk. And we're gonna have to take knowledge. Humans. The surgery, but we are family. We have nots Autobots.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Dumb. The technology level is this. Dumb, we have to find the Allspark. The Allspark and the Gods eye. When they get together, we will hold the world. Where is the Reis family? Our aligned against us. Where is Sam Wickwicky?
Starting point is 00:52:04 Wait, he's not here. Oh can't have him here, okay. And then John Cena plays the character in Bumblebee. And that's how he comes back. And actually, the guy from Bumblebee. He ended the movie, should be like, Beewee's adventure, and they is running to every other movie and just collect all the stuff. I know Louis Littierier is coming back
Starting point is 00:52:18 to make these movies, but you know, yeah. The way to really dial in the next two movies is to put Michael Bay in charge of this very, very different opinion, which is there's these two fucking guys named Seth and Evan. Who I am. Good. Crush a couple fasts.
Starting point is 00:52:39 Absolutely. Do it. We want to. I dare you. We have a shit about our careers. We're in. This movie cost. We can give a shit about our careers. We're in. This movie cost $400 million. Not enough.
Starting point is 00:52:51 Not enough. Wait, $400 million. That is too much money. For. And the digital fire of the main cast. It's like a dog shit. Yeah. The digital fire is terrible.
Starting point is 00:53:03 It's terrible. I mean, honestly, like, truly, if you have 30 main characters who've been in this franchise for a decade, you gotta pay them a, I mean, at that point too, it's like, just in the slightest of raises, they're all probably making so much money. But yeah, I do think it's on the screen.
Starting point is 00:53:19 You blew my, I thought it was like 250. The rock, you got a million bucks just for the close-up of him grabbing a phone and breaking it. He actually deserves that. I love it. They shouldn't have just done that 400 times. Wow. Did you write down that last sign?
Starting point is 00:53:37 Because it was a great line. I was like, you're so bitch. And then he crushed the phone. I love the rock. I love the length. I was so glad Black Adam tanked, because that was like good. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:48 We get the rock back and fast and furious. So, and I think now, and I think now he feels safe because he's like, oh, I can be in a whole different movie. I'll never interact with 90% of the cast. Like, he can be in his solo movie. And most of these people do not share screen time. You were a genuine bummer for me was how little they were together. Yeah. What do you think any of it is like, I hate her, she hates me, I hate him.
Starting point is 00:54:11 I don't wonder if that motherfucker. So I know this, I know that, or this is what the internet tells me. So you know this. I know it for true. Dom and obviously the rock, they don't like each other. So Vin and the rock don't like each other, but then I heard that because of the shooting of Hobbes and Shaw, the rock and Statham don't like each other. So they now need to be separated. So which is a bummer, I don't wanna believe that to be true,
Starting point is 00:54:34 but someone said that they also need to be separated. Um, Dom seems to only be able to be in scenes with Michelle Rodriguez. Yes. And I'd love to talk about how the only, the, the, the, the, their sexual chemistry is predicated on his ability to lift her up.
Starting point is 00:54:55 Yeah. And then fetishize whether she's pregnant yet. They're sexy and is like, I lift you up, I put you down and then I listen at your belly and I say, is he in lift you up, I put you down and then I listen at your belly and I say, is he in there yet? Did I put a baby? Did I put a baby?
Starting point is 00:55:09 Did I put a baby? Which he says, no, he's like, I'm not interested there. If you're not gonna get it. He only wants to fuck her if she's pregnant. If you're not gonna get pregnant, I'll get pregnant now. I'll get pregnant now. Like, my dad did to me.
Starting point is 00:55:23 My dad's close to me out his p-hole. I will say that when Shirley shows up to his house, and I don't know why Shirley's- That was the electric car, I think the Dolores. Oh, that's where he was in. Oh. Because I was like a fucking Dolores? That was awesome.
Starting point is 00:55:36 Yeah, that was cool. Yeah, that was the one legit thing that was just awesome. I love that. And she put blood all over his mailbox, which is a pain, you know, to clean that off. But when she goes there, like, Vin Diesel's like, don't damn it! And he hits the wall on the entire house shakes.
Starting point is 00:55:52 Like, that's really also... I really wanted to see the Charlies and Michelle Rodriguez like adventures together. Well, that's what we're getting. We're going to, we're getting... That's just sellin' a tank. Yes, we are getting that. A sub, a nuclear sub. Yeah, a submarine, that's pretty to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to.
Starting point is 00:56:05 We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to.
Starting point is 00:56:13 We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to.
Starting point is 00:56:17 We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. We're going to. But since then, Charlize has managed to get her hands on a second- Another summary. Nuclear stuff. I did not realize that that was a new stuff of the audience. It's a different stuff. Also, there's no bad movie with like a future prison. You could make a whole movie about Charlize getting that stuff. I also like-
Starting point is 00:56:39 I also like- I might be doing that. I hope so. Charlize also has a computer system where it's like, take this one thing out, got it, that's the hard time. By the way, she hacked when she made gas, like in a movie full of the silliest shit ever, again, in our theater, which had 20 people in it, when the gas came out and she's like,
Starting point is 00:56:57 I made the gas go into the other room, you could feel these 20 people be like, this is fucking stupid. I want to say, for people who haven't seen the movie, she is in shackles in a face-off style room. With Michelle Rodriguez, boy did I want them to face off. I was like, please. I was like, the guy took me to the faces, yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:16 Please, this is, by the way, the introduction into the fast world of science. This is the first time we've been in a laboratory. Laser science. How about the, there was that like contraption with five lasers. This is a three laser. And it powered up and then it started and you were like, oh, there's gonna be a big action sequence
Starting point is 00:57:36 and then it just went away. Yeah. Charlize and Michelle Rodriguez are stuck in, you know, beds, legs and arms bound. And she's able to tip, tap, tip, tap on the screen. On the bed she's trapped on. And she's somehow able to do a series of things that are hack disabled alarms.
Starting point is 00:58:00 She undoes her clothes. And why would they even have ventilation where that pipe would even work the opposite direction? Like, why would you even set it? But she does it so it is also... Oh, yeah, they should have left it then. Oh, yeah, right, yeah. Also, that fight is great.
Starting point is 00:58:13 Oh, I love it. Again, I want to say... The Sharley's fights, both of them, are absolutely the most interesting and compelling action sequences in this movie, and they are, to Louis Latterier's point, more grounded than anything in the last five movies, I feel. And they are objectively pointless to the plot story and progression of events in the film. This movie is Rosencrantz and Guildensteader dead. It's like, hey, look, we know that the main, you got the main pot.
Starting point is 00:58:45 Let's just show you, because this guy's getting a sandwich. These people aren't hell about there. Jack Reachers on Airplane, we don't care, it doesn't feed into the main story. It's just for you to see. Paul, Paul, yeah. Can I just say one quick story before you go to that?
Starting point is 00:58:57 Yeah, absolutely, yeah. I showed my son, who is six years old, the trailer, and he just went, this makes me feel really strange. Yeah. That's my strange. That's it. That's my story. He gets it. All right, let's hit him.
Starting point is 00:59:11 We got go to the audience. Everyone's in these amazing costumes. I'm going to air on the side of picking somebody in a great costume first. Our tuna sandwich is getting up. Tuna sandwich and wedding. And wedding bin. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:23 We got a fish hand and a sandwich head. Okay, so your name and your question. I'm Alan. My big question is there's two big mysteries of the series. There's the lineage, Dominic T righto's parents, especially the mom. Also, who the hell are the faceless shadow people running the agency?
Starting point is 00:59:40 I'm starting to think that maybe they're connected, especially since we don't know where his mom is. Like, do you think that they would be revealed to be the people in charge of the agency? Ooh, that would be cool, I love that. All right, I like that question. You see, I had a theory, I pulled the clip, but I won't play it right now,
Starting point is 00:59:58 that the end of Hobbes and Shaw, there's a voice. All right, and this voice is like, oh, who is that? Like, this is like a, who has been behind the scene entire time? And I'm afraid they're gonna retcon it and make it Jason Mamoah. But I feel that bringing it,
Starting point is 01:00:12 because it originally was supposed to be Canarees. Yeah, it was just a nice thing. Do we know who he was meant to play? Or the bad guy, and then they went back to him to be the bad guy for this, and then he couldn't do it. So Jason Momoa. So I still believe there's a better chance we get. I love that.
Starting point is 01:00:30 I mean, it would be great to get piano in this, because then we get great fights. I was gonna say, then you really can dial in great fights sequences, not just big car set pieces. You get good hand-to-hand stuff going. You guys gentlemen right here. They're not putting nearly that much thought into these things, just so you guys.
Starting point is 01:00:46 That is probably true, they're like, I don't care. This guy actually revealed the canoe fact to us. It was confirmed to me this week and confirmed online as well. All right, your name and your question. My name is Rich. And you are in a... I am the runway from Fast Six. Whoa.
Starting point is 01:01:01 He has a... Whoa! Amazing. So I would have said, Jacelle's corpse is somewhere on you, but it's not. This is amazing. A full explosion. We have the car's racing, great, great costume. Full runway, it goes on forever.
Starting point is 01:01:21 It's 15 more feet. It's 15 feet of runway. This is like what you would wear to the Met Gala. We're gonna go down. Look at this. Look, it goes down. It does. It's 15 feet because the runway was supposed to be 28.5.
Starting point is 01:01:35 Is anybody here dressed like Jazeal who would like to lie down on this runway? Real question. And he Jazeals. And he Jazeals. And he Jazeals. And he Jazeals. You know what? I'd like to see a few more Jazeals next time. Real quest. Any jazels. Any jazels. Any jazels? Any jazels. You know what?
Starting point is 01:01:46 I'd like to see a few more jazels next time. I'll pick it up for the next show. Do any of you, can you think of another actor who had as much fun in their role as Mamoa did, like since Tom Cruise and Chopic Thunder? Or how about- Yeah, John Cena. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:01 People would be like, see. I don't know if that's a good thing. I felt like I said, I don't want to eat a meal and be like, this chef had a lot of fun making this thing. Yeah, it's a thing. You ain't crazy in there. That's what desserts were said. What about us, the audience having fun?
Starting point is 01:02:18 He threw everything in this plate. I just went for it. I said to one of our producers, Molly, I said that's Captain Jack Mamoa. That kind of is the vibe. You're getting, it's a big swing that I think works. And I feel like people like that.
Starting point is 01:02:33 I will say, I was really after, so John Cena was the big bad of the last movie and I did not enjoy that as much. I enjoyed Cena in this movie so much more than I enjoyed him as the villain. And we need a, you need a yang and yang when the villains are too serious. It's not fun.
Starting point is 01:02:52 Which is why I loved Mamoa. I loved Mamoa simply because at least was something, something just different, you know? A different flavor and I was like, great, give me all of this. It was a different texture. Again, I wrote, oh, I'm a Moa. So I want to come on board.
Starting point is 01:03:07 I wanted a third Shaw. Yeah, more Shaw. I wanted another Shaw Sibley. Who would have in son, it made me feel strange. Wait, you mean, don't you mean, isn't it a fourth Shaw Sibley? Isn't Vanessa Curve? No, you have Vanessa Curve. He's a Shaw Sibley, yeah.
Starting point is 01:03:23 When Shaw comes in, that was like, so by the way, give me a movie that's just the Shaws of London. I love that. And it's just a boring or a reality show. Like, Guy, Richie direct it. Like Guy, wait, sorry, Paul, what did you say? No, I said just a reality show of them. But the Guy Richie directs the Shaws of London,
Starting point is 01:03:43 I'm in, that's a great spin-off, but I will also say we didn't get enough of him and I guess the whole series, or for a long time has been building to what's gonna happen when Hawn and Shaw get together. How can we like Shaw because he killed Hawn? And I didn't feel like they really paid that one off too. Well, if like he saves, he's like,
Starting point is 01:04:03 especially because the last film ended with like, the two of them face to face. You were like, oh shit. And then it's just like three minutes, not even a minute and a half of fighting. And that's like, we're cool. Yeah. And it was, you made me lose my snacks.
Starting point is 01:04:16 Yeah. Was he still a hog love snacks? Was he still a hog? I would say it's all of him. No joke is they like snacks. It's Roman is always hungry and never satisfied. And Han eats small things and little things. Yes.
Starting point is 01:04:28 Han's like Brad Pitt. He's like, and whenever I'm doing it, it's little business with food. I will say that I felt like when Han gets into a fight with Shaw, he drops a bag of little Cheetos. And I was like, ooh, I didn't like that. He's like carrying around a bag of little Cheetos. Like, anything else. What do you want him to have? carrying around a bag of little cheetos, like anything else.
Starting point is 01:04:45 What do you want him to have? Anything but a bag of little cheetos. Like that's like, oh, you put in the kids lunch box. Like, I'm like, I'm like, give me, like, you can have a good and plenty, you can have Mike and I, you can have like, I feel like free. Nobody likes good and plenty's, but you, Paul.
Starting point is 01:04:59 Yeah. Not a single other person. Oh, by the way, you're, you're right back. We could have some circus peanuts in there. You're right back. We could have some good and plain things in there. You're right back. Good and plain things in there. Good and plain things in there.
Starting point is 01:05:11 Good and plain things in there. Mike and I, he could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there.
Starting point is 01:05:19 He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. He could have some good things in there. And I got some neck away from her. A bitter root. A bitter root. A pack of big league choux.
Starting point is 01:05:28 And an artichoke with some aioli. Deviled eggs and a Ziploc. So June, you don't like a candy covered black licorice candy? Disgusting. Groves. I like them, Paul. Thank you.
Starting point is 01:05:44 Um, hi. Who are you dressed at? I'm leddy inspired leddy inspired. I like that that you can come leddy inspired right what's your question? Given everything that we have seen Dominic thread of survive out of mostly nine films and he has survived a lot Do you feel like John Cena's sacrifice was kind of unnecessary? I feel like he could have survived. Or a billion percent. Only if you believe he's dead. I have a theory on this.
Starting point is 01:06:15 I think that the rock wouldn't come back until John Cena died. Whoa. He's like there's only room for one of us in these things. And it was like, John Cena was brought in to replace the rock and he's like, you kill off them on the fucker then I'll come back in Like and I feel like they had to get him in by saying, he's dead
Starting point is 01:06:33 But how can anyone trust that anyone's dead? No one dies in these movies No, I mean, I don't know how you could look Unless you see their head split open with their brains on the ground They will still live. By the way, not only do someone die in these movies, you can die in real life and still be in these movies. Yes, if you die in real life, you are thriving in the movie. Yes, your name, your dress is dumb, you look great as dumb, you got no sleeves, your question.
Starting point is 01:07:02 Yes, Pete and Juan, I hope the shirt is, uh, uh, Moa with like the guy's face with all taped up. Oh, I'm always good. But what I was so frustrated was is that staying on the topic of all, like they come back from, you know, assume dead is at the end of the movie, when the plane of everybody and they crash in the side of the mountain, but you don't see anything. It's like, you might as well just say, yeah, they parachute it out.
Starting point is 01:07:26 It was so upsetting that they didn't even just show the plane actually crashing to the mountain, put another $10 million on the film. That they said, no, well, they have to make it dramatic, but they didn't make it that dramatic, because yeah, they would have killed the entire franchise that had played carried majority of the cast, yeah. It'd be so fun if they died.
Starting point is 01:07:45 Like, the next movie's like, they blew up. And to Evan's point, they'll have another 20 people ready to go. It's like, and here's the other 20 people. We didn't bring back, so it's fine. God, what I would give. What was their death? What I would give to see just like a travel day for the teams. What I would give to see them packing.
Starting point is 01:08:06 They've been getting their itineraries. Yeah. Do they have clear? Do they have TSA pre? It's also like they have like, they have to get the cars everywhere. Cars have to get on planes. Planes are as much of their deal as cars,
Starting point is 01:08:19 because cars need planes. And they need big planes. And that means that airfields, so they're getting airfields. Airfields, pilots, are a part of it. And so, and they and that means that airfields so they're getting airfields pilots pilots are a part of it And so and they don't seem that they're rushing to get to Rome So they're probably casually leaving eight o'clock L.A. to Rome to get there for the next morning They really that's like a 10 a.m. Mission. They never seemed jet lag. They seem well-rested. They take a day Mission starts Friday. We got to get their Wednesday because we got to take a day. Yeah the mission starts Friday, we got to get their Wednesday.
Starting point is 01:08:45 Because we got to take a day, yeah. You have a great costume here. You dressed as Nas. Amazing. It looks awesome. Nas itself. Oh, they're Nas. What do they call?
Starting point is 01:08:54 They're molecules. Nas molecules. What are Nas molecules? Nas molecules. Oxygen and nitrogen and nitrogen. Oh, oh, like real mal, I thought that was like on a can of Nas. Now Anderson was like, OK, great.
Starting point is 01:09:04 This really is our Met Gala, huh? This is it. Oh, like real mouth. I thought that was like on a can of Nas. Now Anderson was like, okay, great. This really is our Met Gala, huh? This is the Met Gala we deserve. This is the Met Gala but not revolving around a fucking Nazi racist. Yeah! Damn. Damn.
Starting point is 01:09:23 She is a chemistry teacher, so she made these molecules, especially for the show. Please, if you have a great costume, stick around. We want to get some pictures of you too. All right, your question. I have two. Okay, you can do it. Yes. Do you feel like they pushed the envelope with the racial ambiguity of Vin Diesel and his child? Yes.
Starting point is 01:09:44 Also, you win with your mother. You win with the prince. Can we say the name of the production company that was the first title called? One race. One race, productions. LAUGHTER We went from race wars, which we know was a vindiesel thing.
Starting point is 01:10:01 He wanted it to be race wars to one race. We started with race wars, wound up with one race. And was a winner. And his, and his first short film was Multifacial about how, as someone corrected me, he had a hard time being cast because people like, we don't know what race you are.
Starting point is 01:10:22 And then, okay. I get it. Yeah. But also, Mark's and Claire. Okay, let's be cool about this. That's Vin Diesel's name. Yes. Mark's and Claire.
Starting point is 01:10:37 Yes. In real life. In real life. Mark's and Claire. Vin Diesel's name. And it's always been that. Vin Diesel's name is Mark's and Claire and Diesel's name and and it's it's always been that Vin Diesel's name is Sinclair. Yes, yes
Starting point is 01:10:52 This is Not in the bottom name diesel It's in Sinclair I've been sitting on that so long Sim-sim-clear. I've been sitting on that so long. OK, what's your second question? What a bombshell. This is something that I've really been pondering. So they pop out of Antarctica.
Starting point is 01:11:14 And then they walk a small amount and then a submarine bust out of the ice. But Antarctica is a land mass. Oh, yeah. Prove it. Oh, yeah. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it.
Starting point is 01:11:30 Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it.
Starting point is 01:11:38 Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Prove it. Pro, your name and your question. My name is Storm. My question is, do you guys think that we're going to get... I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:11:47 I'm not going to let you get to your question, Storm. He already has his license out to prove that... It's a proven, proven storm. Storm. My name is Mason Storm Bird, and unfortunately, I'm actually named after Steven Segal character. What? No!
Starting point is 01:12:13 You're named after a Steven Segal. Which one? Call your parents right now. Oh, hell. To kill. Get your parents on the phone. It's the guy at heart. His name is Mason Storm
Starting point is 01:12:27 Mason he was in he was in a coma for 17 years and woke up trying to get a killer as the fairians who put him there And and Kelly LeBrock like looks at his dick when he's in the coma like wow. He's got big dick like yeah What are you talking about in the movie? No, I know I I'm asking. Your parents saw that and we're like, we have to name our son after that. Were you conceived during that movie? I was born right around the time that movie came out. So that's born in it. Also, at the same time, Desert Storm was going on.
Starting point is 01:12:56 So my parents didn't want to name me Storm. Oh wow, so Desert Storm and Steven's a go-ah. Oh, so you're named after both the war and Steven's, that's cool. Yeah. You are blowing my mind. Yeah. Your name is preposterous.
Starting point is 01:13:14 Yeah. But deadly. But very deadly. And fucking cool. And patriotic. So cool. Wow. So do you guys think maybe in the next movie,
Starting point is 01:13:25 we're going to get an answer this tag along with the previous question. Maybe who Little B's father actually is? There was a huge gap from Elena and Vin being together, Elena and Don. All of a sudden, boom, she has a child. And this child looks nothing like either one of them. Are we going to maybe find out who his real dad is? His real dad is Vin Diesel, Marks and Claire.
Starting point is 01:13:44 I do believe that he loves racial ambiguity across the board. Like I feel like he, like he wants to. Marks it, Claire. It's like I remember reading about the Black Eyed Peas and we could travel the world because anywhere we go, we could put a different person as our frontman because that's the way, yeah, that was was So we got the Fergie version. Yeah
Starting point is 01:14:08 That's you we identify. You know Taboo plays big and different areas of what area you know so much about the black eyed Why do you know there's countries were that other dude whose name? I don't know that's not will I have or Fergie? Taboo that's it The most am or for a key. Taboo, that's it! Taboo is the most famous black-eyed piece in other countries. You go to France, Taboo is like,
Starting point is 01:14:31 who is in German? Taboo in the black-eyed piece. For sure! No more! You're my bad, Naboo! Oh my gosh. So we have been doing a very long show, but you know what, we want to keep it going. Oh, let's keep it going, though.
Starting point is 01:14:46 Oh, no. Lisa's got a birthday, but more importantly, we want to do something special. You see, every time we talk about a movie, we want to give a chance for a second opinion. We want to do something a little bit different. And you know, oftentimes, we say to you the audience, like, hey, do somebody have a second opinion song?
Starting point is 01:15:04 But tonight, we have a special guest. That guest is John Lishwale, ladies and gentlemen. Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Hello, everyone.
Starting point is 01:15:14 John, you did you see fast. I know that you love these movies as much as we love these movies. I've only seen Hobbs and Shaw. Really? Ha! So I don't have to play and love it. See, I'm into it.'ve only seen Hobbs and Shaw. Really? Ha ha ha! It's not on a plane, love it. See, I'm into it. I'm into it.
Starting point is 01:15:30 I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it.
Starting point is 01:15:38 I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've watched it. I've live performance. Yeah, Hove, I make you. It's like a big thing.
Starting point is 01:15:48 You've brought a guest. Yes, this is my friend, John Titterington. He's gonna help me out, audience. I'm gonna need your help as well. Yeah, it's giving her up for John. I was gonna do my normal second opinions theme song. However, since I've listened to the podcast about these movies, not seeing the movies,
Starting point is 01:16:08 I know that these movies are not pieces of shit and so I had to tweak it just a little bit. Also, there's a Kumite chant going in my second opinion's theme song. However, this is fast and the furious, so if you will help me out, I'd love to get a family champ. So, family, family, family, family, seven, fate, nine, ex, the movie was fantastic. That's why these people recommend it. Tell me what is the message. Maybe some art is objective. Lee Good. I need a second opinion.
Starting point is 01:17:03 Thank you, Kevin. John was right. Give it up for John. the pin you. Woo! Hey, it's Jonathan. Jonathan's raw. Yeah. Give it up for John. John LaJroa, John Titterington. Thank you, guys. Well, obviously, people love this movie. It's hard to find reviews on Amazon,
Starting point is 01:17:20 so I had to go to our friends over at Letterbox to get some, and I love Letterbox, it's my favorite social media site. And here's what we got here. All right, so from Letterbox, this is written by Alex Duvraje, and he writes it in French. Un résumé, pépu, vroom vroom, bang bang. Allsey, Jason, Mamoa, version,
Starting point is 01:17:43 Jay, Dutempo, Sir LaCrak. So I don't know, but that's five stars. This one is R, just says, okay, but if Jason states him aggressively pulled me into his house and locked the door, I'd hear him out, five stars. We went to Rotten Tomatoes as well and from Fast X, that's the user, they wrote, was a pretty good movie, the sound could be a little lower,
Starting point is 01:18:14 five stars. He was too loud for Fast X. Yeah. Kenneth Pullham gave it a one-star review, and he wrote this, hated the ending. Cliffangers are great for TV, but not for movies, when you have to wait two years to see what happens. Lord of the Rings was one of the few exceptions. And even they wrapped up every installment,
Starting point is 01:18:38 so you left the theater with anticipation, rather than frustration. Plus, that franchise was one movie broken into multiple parts and theaters only one year after the last one. Disappointed with whoever made this decision, well, we'll not refer to this movie. We'll wait for the next installment, and then I'll update you on this one.
Starting point is 01:18:59 I have to say like, from like a structural standpoint. Yes. This is the craziest movie ever made. Yeah, right? Because it's like, what is the plot of it? We really paired it down. And generally, like, truthfully, like when you're writing a movie, you're like, if this scene doesn't need to be in there,
Starting point is 01:19:21 like, if you can cut it, too. Yeah. Well, if that were the case, this movie wouldn't exist. Exactly. Like, that would be a non-movie. It's nothing. Because none of it is necessary. I will say that the, I will say one of the things
Starting point is 01:19:35 that I really appreciated about the movie was tethering the stakes of the movie to inarguably the greatest action set piece of the series, which is the Brazil vault heist. Right. So I think, I knew, so the best part of the movies when they reused footage from the other movies.
Starting point is 01:19:54 Yeah, I knew it was like the first two minutes is just the fifth movie. Yes, it is. It's so smart to be like, oh, let's give a different vantage point on our favorite series of events. And that's gonna start us off great. And then from then on, let's give a different vantage point on our favorite series of events, and that's gonna start us off great. And then from then on, it's like,
Starting point is 01:20:08 pfft. Also, I do wonder if they were like, we're at 400 million, they legit won't let us go over. We have to figure out a body fit. Can we use any old footage? We gotta figure something out here. You're the fifth one.
Starting point is 01:20:18 It is the eighth most expensive film ever made. See, that's crazy. And if you would just movies for inflation, it would be Star Wars, The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, Star Wars, Rise of Skywalker, Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides, Avengers Age of Ultron, Avatar of the Way of Water, and Fast X.
Starting point is 01:20:39 Like, those are all movies that take place like on other planets. Yes. Like, with other creatures, with other worlds, with other like, reality. This is about a plymus. This is about a plymus. Like, it's about a car from 1970.
Starting point is 01:20:57 Like, dumb seems to have a never ending, like, access to a never ending amount of exactly his car. It gets destroyed in every city he's in, his car gets destroyed, and in the next moment hours later, he's jumping out of a plane in another exact same car. He's fixing it on those long plane rides. All right, so this has 70% more budget than fast 9%, 70% and a hundred million dollars just went to cast. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 01:21:33 A hundred million just to cast. So it's, I see that. Yeah, so it's a 300 million dollars. And we're again, we will all say, put us in these movies, we will work for this game. We are cheap. Now, I will say this. We talked a little bit about that scene where Mamoah, uh, Oma, what did you say?
Starting point is 01:21:50 Jason was Oma Moa. Oma Moa? Oma Moa. When he- It still works. That's the t-shirt. Well, that's what he said with the face of the dead security guard. So that dead security guard seen- What are the security guard faces?
Starting point is 01:22:04 You're like, that one's okay. At the other one, you're like, no, that's too much. It was, that's bad in that. It's really, and especially when you cut to it for reaction shots, it's like, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Because the blood was coming in weird spots.
Starting point is 01:22:16 It was like, oh. And it's all taped up like Amy Sederis. It's like an Amy Sederis character. So this is the interesting thing about that scene. And I thought, and again, this is all stuff that's not. Wait, you're about to this is the interesting thing about that scene. And I thought, and again, this is all stuff that's not- Wait, you're about to tell us the interesting thing about that scene? Because it's already very interesting.
Starting point is 01:22:32 Well, so it's said- There's documented information about it. Yeah, oh, I have a lot of information about this. So basically, this scene, everyone wanted to cut. I could see why! Yeah! everyone wanted to cut. I could see why! And the person who fought for it is the head of universal Donna Langley.
Starting point is 01:22:54 She said, no, that scene must stay. And so the head of universal gets it. Like in a way, that's the weirdest choice. Cause like she makes, she's the one who's like, no, that's her stand was, he's got to paint the toenails and get those faces like that. And I think she might have been right. I don't, I think it is. That's his handbook.
Starting point is 01:23:18 Put out our reactions to it. That's his handbook lecture turn. That's where he seems to be not just another villain in the fast and furious pantheon, but a true cycle. But that's what's so funny about that scene is like, and if you took it out, he'd just be a goofy dude who does. Yes, but I also think there's something to just, like there's so many of these movies.
Starting point is 01:23:37 I mean, I can't remember any of them, but I do think I will remember that scene as a part of this movie. That's where I remember that. That's like a scene from like a Michael Hanake movie. Yeah. It's truly what a like the most disturbing scene I've ever seen. And Michael Hanake, a fan of the film.
Starting point is 01:23:53 And Michael Hanake, a fan of the film. Like, we know enough about those guys. Like he, like, I mean, Oh, we know as they have a family. Right. That's what he does. He gets recon on children. Like, that's another moment that it's worthwhile looking at.
Starting point is 01:24:04 Like, the way that he betrays or- That was cool I thought. That was awesome. He's like, I am, you know, like he says, like he's like, I'm just like little Jared and little Mikey. And then all these security guys all answer their phone. I like how they all have their phones like all during missions.
Starting point is 01:24:20 Oh no, but it's a great move because Charlize shows up. She's like, I'm at the the devil tonight and then the whole cold Open is this scene where mom always shows up and he's like I wasn't talking to you I was talking to this guy and that guy and then all their phones go off and all of their loved ones have been taken Great yeah, but like I'm on a podcast and I don't have my phone on me those guys were like killing people and all their phones were just on On but also they were in the middle of a hostage stand. Look, and that was like, they were on, hold on, hold on.
Starting point is 01:24:51 Were they on, vibrator? He say, pull out your phones. No, they just did it. Yeah, they all pulled out their phones, and maybe they have a special prayer. Because you hear like, everybody's phones start going off. Wait a minute. I loved it.
Starting point is 01:25:03 That was in that scene when he's like, oh, and he's like, has everybody's loved one, all the mercenary's loved ones, in a thing, and then he kills that one guy, licks the knife. We talked about it, it's so crazy. And he's like, he kills the only guy who didn't have a family he could leverage against him. I loved that.
Starting point is 01:25:24 In this movie, if you don't have a family, you deserve to him. I loved that. In this movie, if you don't have a family, you deserve to die. You're worthless. You're worthless. There's only one fucking in the man. There's only one fucking in the man. There's only one in the man. And that really is, I mean, that's our guiding light.
Starting point is 01:25:36 From the beginning to the end, no family you deserve to die. We didn't talk about Cena and little bee dropping out of an airplane in a microjet and little bee is like, yeah! But like in a microjet that he carried through the airport checked. Yeah, I thought it was a kayak. Yeah, and they like, and when you're twitty shocked,
Starting point is 01:26:03 they hug it in the belly of the plane. And they somehow have access to cargo doors in a commercial airliner. And by the way, no other luggage in that commercial airliner either. I will say this, obviously we all recommend the movie. I imagine. Oh my God. You don't see this movie, you should fucking kill yourself. This is, it's the cut.
Starting point is 01:26:24 That's the only way to put it. No reason to go on. This is it. It's the kind of movie where people can be in multiple life or death, fist fights, car crashes, all the rest. They can walk through sewers full of like a city's absolute filth and look perfect. They look perfect.
Starting point is 01:26:44 Just like all of us. Yeah. Just exactly. Just like all of us. Yeah, just exactly. Just like all of us here today. Nothing ever, there's no consequences for anything in anyone. I mean, Rome is pretty much destroyed. Everywhere they go is pretty much destroyed. They go back to Fast 5 and destroy that bridge again. Like, they are menaces.
Starting point is 01:27:06 They are bad people. Like, I mean, they are. They are equally bad villains. Wherever they go, they are hurting people. They're creating multiple Jason Mamoas. You can continue to franchise for decades because of all the children of people who are killed. My dad was at that Italian cafe.
Starting point is 01:27:24 La! And that's the thing. And that's, like, the bummer is not the bummer, but what's great is, Mamo is part of this crime family, but like the collateral damage of just civilians that die over the course of the events of all of these movies is in the thousands.
Starting point is 01:27:41 All of those people have a real case against our heroes. Yeah. You mean like a class action takes place? A class action lawsuit. I'm just picturing, 12 courtroom drama. Class action. I'm picturing that that is the end of the last one.
Starting point is 01:27:56 It's like 10,000 people face the fin diesel and hand-to-hand combat. You've killed all of our families. So now! Oh God! And it goes to this. It goes back to his other movie, Fimey Guilty, which is...
Starting point is 01:28:10 The frequency of it. That's in Yloumetz last film. Yeah. The greatest filmmaker of all time, arguably. Oh, my gosh. He met 12 hencrey men and this. The verdict and this. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 01:28:23 Any final thoughts as we go around? Any final thoughts? Oof. I loved in the scene we were talking about where Mamoa is with the corpses. Incredible foley work of just the buzzing of flies around the corpses. There is really, this movie is flawed,
Starting point is 01:28:42 but really great compared to the last few. This one really went for it, but really great. Compared to the last few, this one really went for it, I feel like. There was a bunch of stuff, go ahead. My last thing is just, and maybe this is an unpopular comment. I hope they reel it back a little moving forward. I'm a little worried. I'm a little worried.
Starting point is 01:28:59 I would go full like RRR with it. Like I would go like, yes. I'd be actually go great. Like I would go like, yes! I think you go crazy. Vin Diesel should be throwing cars at people, like riding a dragon. Five minutes after Vin Diesel chastises Reacher for not listening to him say buckle up because there's a drone attack coming.
Starting point is 01:29:19 Which he knows about. Which he knows about. Because he's on his train. Correct. Vin Diesel is distracted and doesn't hear a helicopter approach and shoot when the sniper comes. Like, there is such crazy dissonance between what everybody wants and has. So this movie, I really, I was dropped into like the reverence the family has for law
Starting point is 01:29:43 enforcement and also the hatred for cops, but also cops will flip and also cops are criminals. And they're one of us and we hate them, but they are us and they are our family. And we love them. And John Cena has a bat cave. John Cena has a bat cave. I mean, Evan literally turned to me and said John Cena has a bat cave. Like, that like, is a bat cave. I and said, John Cena has a back cave. Like, that like, is a bad... I wrote it, John Cena.
Starting point is 01:30:07 A bad cave? A full back cave. Maybe even the back cave. The back cave. This is the back cave. And this is the place where they're all gonna meet. They're all trying to get to John Cena's back cave. And meanwhile, Jason Mamoah has a really sad back cave.
Starting point is 01:30:22 Yeah. A sad cave. Yeah. It looks like it's all like, it is all full of flies. Moa has a really sad back cave. Yeah. A sad cave. Yeah. It looks like it's all like, it is all full of flies. And then he calls, he's like, you found my sad caves. The funniest one we were in the theater, like the people behind us, who I feel so bad for.
Starting point is 01:30:38 They enjoyed the film. They were on the same page. They were on the same page. But at first it was Rocky, but at the, there's like the credits, and they were like packing We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page.
Starting point is 01:30:48 We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on the same page. We're not on By the way, that's the title of Fast 11.
Starting point is 01:31:05 What now? More of this? I love the moment when Louis B jumps into Dom's car, and Louis LaTurie ramps into the muscles of Dom's body turns into the elements of the car. Like the visuals, basically the visuals posit that Dom is the car. And that the car is an outgrowth of Dom.
Starting point is 01:31:38 Yeah. Well, his car was his mother. I think Rita Moreno fucked a car. That's not the car. That's not the car. his mother. I think Rita Moreno fucked a car. That's a car, I think. Oh my gosh, all right. Let's wrap it up here. All right, thank you everybody for a very long show. Thank you so much.
