Starting point is 00:00:28 Noemiro 10 Today, we're in one of the city's biggest green lungs Parque de la Ciudadela is the oldest park in Barcelona
Starting point is 00:00:39 everybody has been recommending it to me whenever visiting a new place I always like to visit its parks I find that they reveal a lot
Starting point is 00:00:49 about the local culture and environment I've been told that in the northern corner of this park, there is an emblematic lake with beautiful monuments and even a picturesque waterfall. Of course, that's something I want to check out. I'm going to make my way there now. I must say, it's a perfect day for it. The sun is out, the birds are singing. How about I tell you all the things I can see in the park right now? First things first.
Starting point is 00:01:28 That warm sun. To say the sun in Spanish is El Sol. The sky in Spanish is El Sielo. A good way to remember these two words is by saying El Sol in the sky. The sun in the sky.
Starting point is 00:02:06 Say it after me. to say the sun in the sielo to say the tree in spanish is el arbol el arbol but there are many trees in this park to say the trees you'd say los arboles los arboles to remember this word think of the fancy Latin word for a tree surgeon, an arborist. Arborists work with arbores. It's not just trees that I can see though, there's also lots of grass, although it's definitely more crispy and more dry than what I'm used to in the UK.
Starting point is 00:03:06 To say the grass in Spanish is El Pasto. El Pasto. To remember this one, think of pastures, which are expanses of land covered in grass. One more time. El Pasto. I can also see a lot of bicycles whizzing around.
Starting point is 00:03:32 To say the bicycle in Spanish is La Bicycleta. La. Bicleta. To say the bicycles, you say, Las Bicycletas. Las Bicycletas. You can also just say
Starting point is 00:03:59 La Bisi or Las Bices. I can't see any lakes right now but I need to be on the lookout for one because that's where I'll find the waterfall. To say the lake in Spanish it is El Lago. El Lago.
Starting point is 00:04:22 The lakes in Spanish are Los Lagos Los Lagos Okay, it's really hot now I should find some shade under a tree Solo for a momento To say it's really hot in Spanish
Starting point is 00:04:49 You would say Ase Much Calor So in English This doesn't translate directly To say it's really really hot you would say it makes a lot of heat. Let's break it down. It makes much a lot of heat. I say much a color. Right, I need some shade. I need some shade. I need shade. Necessito sombra. Can you spot the word for shade in Spanish?
Starting point is 00:05:36 Sombra. I think I'll stay in the shade just for a moment and watch the world go by. Oh goodness! This poor man has just fallen off his bike! I need to help! I'm going to ask him if he's okay. Signor, is da bien? Do you need help? Necessita Aida? Necessita, help? How can I help? How can I help? How can I help? How? How?

Starting point is 00:06:46 All is well. Chau, Amigo. Chau. Cuidado, means careful. Cuidado.
Starting point is 00:06:58 Well, that was random. We never know what the next moment holds, eh? Let's go and find this waterfall. We're going to find this waterfall. Five minutes letia. Five minutes more time. For fin! The lake!
