You're joining me as I take the bus to El Zoologico de Barcelona where I'm going to be meeting Maria. Before we get there, we should go through the names of the animals we're likely to encounter. As you'll notice, many of the names are basically the same as the English version. However, they are said with a Spanish twang. Let's begin. The lion in Spanish is El Leon.

Well, this one is the tallest animal in the park. I have no doubt about that. It is a... Una hiraffa. A giraffe. Well, this one is black and white. It's a zebra. How do you say the zebra?

La zebra. La zebra. This one has a silver back and almost looks like a human. but a lot bigger. It's a gorilla. How do you say a gorilla? A gorilla.

Well, how about this cheeky fella? It's a chimpanzee. Un chimpanzee. Okay, so this one looks a bit like a gorilla, but they actually live in Borneo. It is a orangutanan. Un Orangutan Careful, this is one of the deadliest animals in Africa, but they can now be found in Colombia. Do you know what it is?

It's a hippopotamus. How do you say the hippopotamus? El hippopotamo. Wow, look at the horn on this one. It's a rhino. There are actually two. How do you say two rhinos? Two rhinocerontes.

Look, this is an animal that lives in the Antarctic region. They are black and white and quite cute. Can you tell me in Spanish what it is? One penguin. What is this one in Spanish? A delfin. One delfin. What's this big ball of blubber bathing by the water?

Cochodrillo. That sounds like a serpent to me. How would you say that in Spanish? La Serpiente. La Serpiente. Oh, this one is beautiful. It has a lovely. lovely pink plumage and long neck.

The name in Spanish happens to be a genre of music that comes from the south of Spain. Es a flamenco. Es a flamenco. Well this one's an antelope, I know that. How would you say an antelope? An antilope. Finally, this one is another native of Australia and is known to kill them. kick the lights out of people.

It's a kangaroo! Can you tell me how to say kangaroo in Spanish? El kanguro. El kanguro. And that's it. We've seen all the animals in El Zulogico de Barcelona. It's still early. What should we do now?
