Starting point is 00:00:55 I am sorry, I'm just getting into the Halloween spirit. One of these days I'm going to scare you back. Just you wait. So what are you gonna be for Halloween? I'm thinking either Jesse from Toy Story or Supergirl. What about you? I might do one of Emma Stone's movie rolls. I feel like I gotta use my red hair. Or you could dress like Ron Weasley.
Starting point is 00:01:17 You practically look the same. Ha! Got him! Are you guys talking about Halloween costumes? Sophie? What are you doing here? Molly had some influencer trip this week. So Mr. H invited me to spend the day with your class.
Starting point is 00:01:33 Apparently there's some big surprise. Hey Charlie! Whoa, are you okay? I found my parents' Halloween candy stash from the 90s, and I ate all of it. Why would you do that? I was feeling rebellious, because I'm not allowed to have candy. But now I feel so sick. So do you want to tell us what you're going to be for Halloween or...
Starting point is 00:01:57 Just thinking about Halloween makes me nauseous. I think I'm going to be sitting this one out this year. Do you guys want to know what I'm going to be for Halloween? I'm a little scared to know. I'm gonna go as plowy. Oh, that's surprisingly normal. Is it? All right, class, listen up.
Starting point is 00:02:19 Today is going to be a very special day, not just because we have Sophie joining our class again, but because I have a very special surprise for you all. Is it a pop quiz? Nope, it is not a pop quiz. Are you sure it isn't a pop quiz? Because the only surprise you've ever given us was a pop quiz.
Starting point is 00:02:38 You better not have invited us. me to your class for a pop quiz? It's not a pop quiz. Yep, I'm pretty sure it's a pop quiz. It's not a pop quiz. We are going on a field trip. A field trip? Is it to a museum?
Starting point is 00:02:56 Nope, not a museum. Ah, nah, he's gonna take us to like a TED talk. I hate talking bears. I don't think a TED talk is what you think it means. I'm gonna take you somewhere fun. Fun? I think he hit his head. We have to prepare for the worst.
Starting point is 00:03:11 I hope we're going to an art museum. Now that would be fun. I will tell you all once we get there. Now the bus is waiting outside, everyone. Let's go. Oh. Today we will all be participating in an escape room as a class.
Starting point is 00:03:30 An escape room? Not just any escape room. A haunted escape room. Ha, ha, haunted? I'm not too sure about that. It'll be great. It'll get us all into the spirit of Halloween. My stomach doesn't do very well with scary things, and it's already not doing great.
Starting point is 00:03:50 You better not throw up on me. Mr. Hansen, as fun as this is, buy an escape room. Uses your logical thinking skills. I just did one last weekend and I loved it, so I thought it would be great for you guys to learn how to problem solve. And what about the haunted part? To be honest, it was the only escape room within the school budget. Oh, and I forgot to mention, anyone who doesn't actively participate, get to next. Whoa! It's cool! That's more like it.
Starting point is 00:04:21 Hello, hello, hello! My name is Celeste and I will be taking you to your haunted escape room. I'm so excited. We haven't had any guests since what happened to that one guy. Y'all didn't hear about that? Okay, moving on, you all will be working together on a series of puzzles to find the clues to escape the room before the ghosts take you into their world. forever.
Starting point is 00:04:45 What? Charlie, it's okay. It's just pretend. Are you sure? Yes, I'm sure. I don't trust you. Rachel? Is that true? Unfortunately, no. Okay. You can continue. Have any of you visited here before?
Starting point is 00:05:08 Oh, I have, but not here though. But I will say I am very impressed by your acting skills. You know, I am an actor. myself. Great. And just so everyone knows you stepping into that escape room means you are signing that we are not responsible for any heart attacks, panic attacks, any attacks death, or any other causes of injury. All right, who's ready to escape the room? Follow me. How bad do you think this is gonna go?
Starting point is 00:05:35 Fairy. Good thing I have my lucky hamster foot. Don't you mean rabbit's foot? No. Oh. This is my nightmare. Time starts now. All right, class, let's start looking for clues, divide and conquer. You know another time and interest when people used coded messages was in World War II. If Mr. H tries to make this a history lesson,
Starting point is 00:06:07 I'll make sure he never leaves this escape room. Whoa, guys, I found a clue. I found a school. Read the clue, Sebastian. If you're looking for answers, look to the sky. There you'll find images, but you must determine why. That doesn't make any sense. Look to the sky.
Starting point is 00:06:26 Remember, students, let's use our brains to think it out. Wow, Mr. H, we didn't even think about doing that. That's why I'm here. I'm not sure what you kids would do without me. I bet we'd get this done a whole lot quicker without him. Look to the sky! You will find images! There's images on the ceiling! I see a crow and... A pumpkin?
Starting point is 00:06:49 And a spider! Oh, wait, no. I think that's real. I see... Ah! It got me, guys! I'm dead! I'm dying! Soon you'll be a ghost. Charlie, it's just a fake skeleton. This is too much! This is too much.
Starting point is 00:07:08 I just wanted to have a normal day of school, and not a day where I almost have a heart attack. A normal day of school used to look a lot different in the 1700s. Is Mr. Hanson seriously trying to turn this into an educational moment right now? I'm just gonna sit in the corner and close my eyes, so nothing is in this room will scare me. Guys, this case has the images on the ceiling on the side. I think this is what we were supposed to find.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Nice! What does it say? To open the lock, we have to find the lock combination. And to do that, we have to solve a math equation. Why did everyone stop talking? Are you guys still there? Define still there. Rachel? Shh!
Starting point is 00:07:50 Charlie, we need your help with the math equation, So you're gonna have to open your eyes. Is this a trick? No, it's not a trick. You're the best at math out of all of us. You're the only way we'll get out of here. Ah! Sorry, I didn't expect you all to be looking at me like that.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Where's the math equation? This is the equation. This is pretty simple, actually. Make sure to show your proof. Actually, I don't think that's necessary this time. The combination is 18, 39, 8. And here's my proof. Excellent work, Charlie!
Starting point is 00:08:29 Whoa! Charlie passed out! I call dibs on his soul. No one calls dibs on his soul? Welcome to the Great Beyond! Seems like some of you couldn't handle the pressure. You will be taken away forever! Okay, love the performance. I'm a big performer myself, but I do need to know where you're taking my student for safety reasons.
Starting point is 00:08:51 Oh, he's being taken to the nurse's office. You'd be surprised how many people pass off. Thank you. At least he's in a better place now. And so is his soul. His soul is still his own, Rachel. Maybe for now. To survive this next challenge, you must solve this puzzle.
Starting point is 00:09:08 Woo! I love puzzles! I got this one. I spend a lot of my free time doing puzzles. Maybe that's why I don't have a boyfriend. Enough introspection. What does the puzzle say? It says 101.7. What does that mean? From ever kids to use your... Heads!
Starting point is 00:09:30 Yeah, we got it. Outta girl! Oh, radio right here! Jess, now is not the time to listen to your Spotify. We have to solve the puzzle. The puzzle is a radio station! You're right! Remember kids to use your... Tell our time is up!
Starting point is 00:10:02 I can't wait to get taken. I found the radio station! Everyone quiet! That's Morse code. I know Morse code. You do? How? Because I wanted to be able to communicate with my dog, so I taught him Morse code. But in order to come... order to communicate I also had to learn Morse code.
Starting point is 00:10:18 Your mind is so interesting. Probably all the concussions. Okay, decode it for us. Open the closet and turn the key to the... Oh, I got it! They got me! This is the best day ever. Okay, so to open the closet, we have to turn the key which way?
Starting point is 00:10:46 Left or right? Let's just find the closet and go from there. But what closet? There's three in front of us. And if we pick the wrong one, we'll be stuck in here forever. At this point, I want the pop quiz. Okay, you pick the door. I can't pick. You pick. No, you pick.
Starting point is 00:11:01 No, you. I found a door that opens. Rachel, how did you know that was gonna be the right door? The ghost told me. Hi, I'm Randy. I work here. Oh, cool. So you told her to open that door? Not that ghost.
Starting point is 00:11:16 That goes. It's up to me, but I will try my best. You don't leave me either. I will also do my best. I say we go with the middle closet. It's always the middle. Okay, on three, we're gonna see whether we should turn the key, left or right. Okay, one, two, three.
Starting point is 00:11:42 Looks like it's just you. Now you must solve it alone to get everyone home. Okay, we're gonna do the middle door, but should I turn the key right or left? Should I go with my intuition or Britney's? You don't understand what you're saying. I guess I'll turn it... What? Actually taken away for eternity, but I'll be honest, it really felt like that.
Starting point is 00:12:34 That's because the scare actor hears are so good. I gotta see if they're taking applications. Mr. Hansen, they'd be focused on being our teacher first before you go and find a new job. We already lost one teacher this year. Since you guys all worked together and used your logical reasoning skills, I'm excited to say you will pass the assignment. So I learned my lesson to never take you all to an escape room ever again. I drew up so I feel so much better.
Starting point is 00:13:02 Well, I'm very glad. Alright everyone, let's get back to the bus and back to school. Yes, I never thought I'd be so excited to go back to school. Yeah, I wonder how long this feeling will last. Oh, and when we get back to school, I have another surprise for everyone. A pop quiz! A pop quiz? Finally something could happen today.
Starting point is 00:13:25 And there it is. Feeling gone. My reg league goalie says he plays for the love of the game. You gave up six goals last week, Steve. Maybe play to win, huh? Like with Bet365. I get paid the second my team goes up big with early payout and can cash out at any time before the game ends.
Starting point is 00:13:46 Come on, Steve. Bet365, the home of winning early. Must be 19 and older. Ontario only. Please play responsibly. If you were someone you know is concerns about gambling, Visit connectsontario.ca or call 1866-5-3-1-2,600. Terms and conditions apply.
