Starting point is 00:00:57 Visit EDC.com.ca for more. A real life dogman encounter up next on the campfire. Sit back, relax, and warm yourself by Jim Harold's campfire. Well, next up, we have a brand new listener, Kyle from Michigan, is online. And because Sam and Nora told him about the campfire. So first of all, thank you, Sam. Thank you, Nora. And a big stay spooky to both of you.
Starting point is 00:01:34 And let that be a lesson. because if you tell your friends, you tell your family about the campfire, then we get great stories like the one we're about to hear from Kyle. So again, Sam and Nora, thanks a lot. Kyle, welcome to the show. So glad you found us. And, you know, we had some stories a few weeks ago about a haunted park and some weirdness in a park.
Starting point is 00:01:57 You had some strangeness happened in a playground. Tell us what happened. Yeah. Thanks for having me, Jim. Yeah, so I This this story takes place around 2013, winter 2013
Starting point is 00:02:12 or maybe like early 2014. And actually part of the reason I wanted to come on and talk about it is I do want to see if there's anyone out there who's seen this same thing in the area. So my my girlfriend at the time and I were sledding in a park in Monroe, Michigan called Munson Park. And we, it was getting pretty late and we had decided, you know, we're going to have, we're going to have one last ride down the hill.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Pretty much everyone had gone home at that point. So we were almost entirely alone. It was probably 10 or 11 at night. It was really dark. And we took one last ride down the hill and packed up our sleds, went over to the car, packed him in. And then we were parked right outside of a playground that was, at the bottom of the hill. So we packed it up and I was, you know, I was 17.
Starting point is 00:03:10 So I was like a little more adventurous, I guess. I was like, I want to let's let's go hang out on this playground. Let's go mess around. Like, let's go be kids. Like no one's here. No one's here to yell at a couple teenagers for playing on the playground. You know. And I, and I am attracted to like kind of liminal spaces like that.
Starting point is 00:03:31 So a playground in the dead of night is like perfect for me. So we're, we're walking over. I kind of took a second to stop and like go pee behind a building. When I came back to her, she'd already, I don't want to say she was like, unwilling to go to the playground,
Starting point is 00:03:53 but she was like, eh, it's not really my thing. When I came back from going pee, I could, there was like more of a shift in her towards where she was like, I think we should go home. I really don't want to,
Starting point is 00:04:07 I really don't like how I'm feeling out here. I, we got to go. And I was like, no, come on. Let's, let's play.
Starting point is 00:04:15 Let's have fun. It's just us. So we were out there for a little bit. And there's this, there's this kind of fence surrounding the playground. It was one of those old wooden ones. And I'm sure you know the ones. like those wooden ones that like communities build,
Starting point is 00:04:34 like someone puts the blueprints up. Yeah, yeah. Yep. So there's this fence surrounding it. And I'm, we're walking to kind of our next destination within the playground. And over the fence, like kind of out of the corner of my eye,
Starting point is 00:04:52 I saw this. It's kind of hard to say what it was. my initial thought was it's a really big dog or it's a man on all fours. Like it was something big like that, but kind of the way it was moving made me think, okay, maybe that's a man on all fours. But even if it was a dog, as soon as I kind of noticed it, it clearly was like trying to hide from me. It was trying to get out of my line of sight. What I did see is like it was,
Starting point is 00:05:32 I've heard other listeners describe things that they've seen as like kind of having that like the predator shimmer thing, you know, from like the predator movies. Yeah. Like how it's got that kind of cloaking. It wasn't quite that, but it was similar where I couldn't really tell what like color it was.
Starting point is 00:05:54 It was maybe. maybe white or black. Like I have no idea. Um, and, uh, again, it, it hid pretty quickly from me. And I kind of like, I kind of perked up and I was like trying to like, I didn't want to move towards it. Because I was like, I don't know what that was. So I'm trying to like look for it like extend my neck. And at a certain point of doing this, I was like, okay, I just, I just saw something out of the corner of my eye. My brain is like playing tricks on me. You know, it's, it's snowy. It's, I, I just saw something.
Starting point is 00:06:32 I don't know. And my, so my girlfriend at the time was like, what? Like, what's up? And I was like, I swear I just saw like a dog, like a guy or something. And she starts getting visibly like way, way, way more freaked out. Like, Kyle, we have to leave. We have to get out of here. have to go now. And I was like, what? Like, my brain was playing tricks on me. It's not,
Starting point is 00:06:59 there wasn't anything. Right. And she's like super insistent. Like, we have to go. We have to go now. So, okay. Yeah. Whatever you want. And we get back into the car and she's like, when you were, when you were off to the side, like going pee before we even went there, I saw that. I saw a dog or a man or something, like something weird that had like this kind of shimmering quality to it, uh, that was clearly trying to hide from me after I noticed it. Um, so both of us were really freaked out and, uh, you know, I tailed it out of there. Um, kind of, you know, we were sensitive like teenagers. So we were like kind of crying because it was really. Well, I mean, you know what? I'm in my 50s. And if I saw a dog man, I might say,
Starting point is 00:07:53 start crying too. So, I mean, looking back at it, if you had to give a theory, what would you say, what do you think it is? You know, I really, I really hope it was a dog because it's kind of almost worse if it's a man crawling around on all fours. But I think the intentionality behind it, like the clear intentionality of it hiding from me, hiding from us, like really doing. its best to, you know, not be seen, kind of lends itself to, I think this was something smarter than a dog, but if it was a man, why was it all in all fours and why was he hiding from us? Did you feel that your girlfriend's concern or her feeling, was it more than just seeing something scary or did she feel some kind of vibe from the creature?
Starting point is 00:08:50 She had, I'm very much skeptic. This is the only time I've ever seen anything like this, like even close to this. But she had, you know, she was a little more esoteric is the wrong word, but like a little more like, woo-woo. Yeah, yeah, yeah, a little more woo-woo. A little more in touch with those things. So I always kind of, if she was getting a bet, and maybe I was a bad, and maybe I was a bad boyfriend. But like if she was getting a bad vibe about something, I'd be like, come on,
Starting point is 00:09:25 like, whatever. And up until that point, it had never really been anything. So I think she did get a sense that maybe we were in danger, being threatened in some way. Yeah, both of us are really not sure. I actually broke a like almost decade long, no contact to ask her if it was cool for me to tell this story on the show. Yeah. And was her recollection. of it. Did she remember it? Just the way that you talked about? It was exactly the same because I had been thinking about calling in for like the last couple months as soon as I started listening. And I was like, well, I want to make sure like I'm not just making this up. You know what I mean? That it wasn't just in my head. And yeah, sure enough,
Starting point is 00:10:13 her recollection is almost exactly what mine is. And this was up in Michigan. This was up in Michigan. This is, yeah, Monroe, Michigan. Yeah. Dogman in Michigan. Whoa. Dog man in Michigan. Kyle, thank you for being on the show. Again, thank your friends.
Starting point is 00:10:31 I believe Sam and Nora, right? Sam and Nora. Thank you, Sam and Nora. You guys stay spooky. Kyle, you stay spooky too. And thanks for sharing a great campfire story. Hey, thanks, Jim. Stay spooky.

Dar and I really enjoy meeting everyone and we hope to see you at one of these events and there's only three more left. So be there or be square. Well, thank you so much for joining us on the campfire and now on to another spooky story perfect for Halloween. Next up is Jordan from Missouri. That's the show me state and I guess something did show him, and his wife, Nicole, who by the way, told him about the campfire several years ago, and he's been listening ever since. So Nicole, thank you so much and stay spooky, and see how this works. You tell your friends, you tell your family about the campfire, then they end up
Starting point is 00:13:34 coming on and telling us a great story like the one Jordan is about to lay on us. Now, Jordan, I understand you and your wife do some paranormal investigating. But this is a case maybe where you weren't looking for the paranormal, but the paranormal found you anyway. Tell us what happened. Yeah, Jim. So me and my wife have been doing paranormal investigations for a number of years. I've personally been doing them about 15 years.
Starting point is 00:14:06 But this was a case where it just kind of came across us and we weren't looking for it. So what happened is me and my wife were taking a road trip to St. Joseph, Missouri, historic railroad town up in northern Missouri. And we decided, let's get an Airbnb for this road trip. And let's stay there. So I said let's pick something unique, something historic, of course. I love those. We found an original house to the town at building like 1859.
Starting point is 00:14:33 I was like, oh, that's cool. We were about a mile and a half from the Jesse James home. I thought, wow, what a cool deal to be able to stay near a period home where maybe even Jesse James may have walked by this home saw it on those travels. Just kind of a cool experience. So we checked in to the Airbnb, nice little cottage downtown.
Starting point is 00:14:53 And to give you kind of a layout and it's in context to the story, little open floor plan cottage. You walk in, and then you walk into the living room, and then there's a dining room, and then a kitchen. And it's all open. And then to the right of the living room, there's one bedroom off to the side of the living room.
Starting point is 00:15:11 So just a wall and then a doorway leading to the bedroom, which is important to the story. So anyway, me and my wife went out to dinner, went to some antique stores and whatnot, decided, we're tired. We have a long day the next day going to museums. Let's just watch a movie. So we said, let's watch something funny, something lighthearted. So we settled into the living room, put on a comedy, laughing, pretty funny movie and stuff. And nothing was weird in the house.
Starting point is 00:15:38 We've been to a lot of locations where you can kind of get a vibe of what's going on. This place seemed pretty normal. It's like, I was getting late about midnight. I said, oh, let's turn in. So we went to the bedroom and proceeded to go to sleep. And so as I was nodding off to sleep, I just noticed something kind of peculiar. There's this rustling going on in the kitchen. And I thought, well, that's a little weird.
Starting point is 00:16:04 Nothing too big of the deal, but I was like, you know, a little uncommon. Kind of sounded like there was like mice in the kitchen, no rodents or something. I was like, weird. So I woke up, fell back asleep. and I kept kind of waking me up. And every now I'm getting a little louder. And I turned over to my wife just to kind of see if she was awake. And I saw her kind of waking up every now and then too
Starting point is 00:16:24 and kind of glancing toward the kitchen. And I was like, huh, that's a little odd. So I went to sleep and about an hour later, me and my wife were in full sleep and we both wake up. We spring out of bed. We're just wide-eyed staring at each other because the very same TV, we were just watching the movie, on and had shut off before he went to bed was in the living room right behind that wall.
Starting point is 00:16:48 And we heard it turn on in the middle of the night as we were trying to go to sleep. And so all of a sudden the TV turns on really loud. And then we hear click, click, click, click. And we're just staring at each other. And I hear click, click, click, click, click. Who's in here? So who's in here? Something is pressing the button.
Starting point is 00:17:08 And I was like, well, this is weird. So we just wait there staring at each other. And we repeated to hear it. So if you could say it was like zero out of 100 on the volume, this TV proceeded to go from like a 20 to where we left it all the way up to probably a 90 or 95. I mean, blaring me out. I'm looking for heavy objects in the room. I'm looking for something to arm myself with.
Starting point is 00:17:32 Yeah, because at this point, I'm guessing, and this happened so many times, you know, we're campfire fans. So the first place our head goes is, oh, it's a ghost or something supernatural. First thing you're thinking there's a person in there, like a real living person that probably doesn't wish you well. Is that where you're thinking was? Totally, Jim. I have never, in all the paranormal experiences I've gone through all the tours, all the investigations, this is the first time. And really the reason I wanted to tell this story, the first time I was fully convinced this was flesh and blood.
Starting point is 00:18:03 So I was like, okay, I'm going to make a mad dash into the living room. I'm around that corner through the doorway. and there's going to be someone sitting on the couch, someone who had just messed with the remote. So I walk into the room, my wife's right behind me, and I round the corner, and I'm preparing to get the spook on them, you know, get the surprise in case there was an intruder.
Starting point is 00:18:22 My heart was pounding. I was very nervous. It wasn't the best neighborhood. We heard a lot of, you know, music bumping outside and some partying and stuff. I was like, man, what if someone's in the house? So I round the corner, no one's in the living room. TV's still blaringly loud.
Starting point is 00:18:38 on. It selected a program to put on. Some HGTV or something was playing, which is not where we left it. And it was interesting. Love it or listed. Right, right. And so I look at the front door and all the locks are on the door. I look at the back door, the locks are on the door, everything's safe and sound. There's no one in there. And so as I enter the room, my wife was right behind me, and as I enter it, I notice there is such an extreme, like, static, electrical charge, in the room. It was very palpable. And as I enter the room, it just felt really tense. And I caught myself staring at something in the living room. And I wasn't looking at anything physical. I was just staring. And I followed it with my eyes going through the dining room and then into the kitchen.
Starting point is 00:19:26 I don't know why I was doing that to this day. But I caught myself looking back at the kitchen as if something had left the room. And then as soon as it kind of, whatever I was following in my eyes, the room got still. I mean, feeling like almost. like a tornado or a heavy storm system goes through the air and then it all of a sudden passes and you feel that release in there. That's exactly what it felt like. So all that happened and I happened, we turned down the TV and then turned it off and I happened to notice that the remote didn't seem to be in the place I left. It was on the edge of the coffee table. And I remember leaving it in the middle of the coffee table. And the pillow I had kind of for lumbar support
Starting point is 00:20:05 on the couch just moved off to the side. So a couple of things were moved around. So I turned to my wife and I'm like, that was amazing. I said, did you feel anything in the room when we got inside? And she said, which is a very peculiar response to nothing I can come up with myself, but it said it to a teeth. I turned to her and I said, Nicole, what did you just feel in the room? Her response was, it felt like Christmas morning in here. And I said, Christmas morning, that's a very odd descriptive. She said, it felt like when you're coming down the, you know, downstairs and Christmas morning and this hula blue and Christmas gifts being opened and noise and chattering people. That's what it felt like.
Starting point is 00:20:45 Huh. I thought, ah, that's exactly what it felt like to me. And then it quickly and abruptly left. And so we shut off the TV and it was just an amazing experience. Wow. Yeah, so I stayed up the rest of the night and watched another movie on the TV because I didn't want to go to bed quite yet. The exorcist. No, no.
Starting point is 00:21:04 Right. And I was anxious to see if something else would happen. But Jim, the house was cool as a cucumber after that. That tension had left, and I had no more experiences, and then went soundly to bed that very night. And we sure talked about it the next morning because it was quite an experience. But yeah, my wife had notated a couple of things moving around in the living room and some things that had been kind of looked like they had been shuffled a little bit.
Starting point is 00:21:31 So I don't know what it was, but it was a very interesting experience. Yeah, that's what I was going to ask if you had any theories about what it was. Now, let me ask you this, as someone who does paranormal investigation, having had this experience now, has it changed your beliefs, has it deepened your beliefs? Has it made you look at paranormal investigation differently? How is it shaped you and your wife? That's a very good question. I didn't think it would shape that. I thought I was kind of prepared for anything, but it totally shaped my opinion because I've not had something.
Starting point is 00:22:04 so blaring obvious. And like I said, something that had operated so much like a human, it just changed my perspective a little bit. But I would definitely say that there was nothing negative about it.
Starting point is 00:22:18 And it kind of was a light bulb moment to me that not every ghost story has something negative attached to it. It didn't feel dark or ominous at all. Like people would say, what a creepy story. Yeah, it's just kind of fun.
Starting point is 00:22:30 It was just like it was kind of toying with us. Well, you know, I always say that. And it's not based on any expertise. I have absolutely no expertise. I just ask questions. But just reviewing the stories over the 17 years of this show, it appears to me that the supernatural and the paranormal is much like our existence here in the every day. There's, you know, there's good people and there's not so good people and there's really bad people and there's really good people. And I think that's the way it is with the spirits, right? I think, you know, I think now, particularly because,
Starting point is 00:23:04 it sells, everything's a demon. Ah, I have a demon, you know. You see it on TV when you see the ads for different shows and things, not so much these days, because the shows are mainly gone, but it's like, there's a demon in there, you know, because it sells. But the truth is I think, yeah, I do believe that sinister energies exist. I'm not like this Pollyanna who's like, oh, everything, you know, everything wishes is love and light, love and light. Some do, yes, and some don't. But I think there's good. I think there's plaything. I think it's just like the whole spectrum of human emotion and human behavior in the spirit world. Jordan, very cool.
Starting point is 00:23:44 Thank you. Thank Nicole. And I don't think I have to tell you this, but I've got to because it's my job. Stay spooky. Stay spooky, Jim. Thanks a bunch. Our fantasy commission says for him it's all about the friendships. Cute, Kevin.
Starting point is 00:24:00 But I disagree. Like with bat three, six five. I get paid the second my team goes up big with early payout and can cash out at any time before the game ends. No hard feelings, Kevin. Just faster payouts from Bet365. The home of winning early. Must be 19 and older.

Starting point is 00:25:06 Streaming October 14th, only on Disney Plus. Michelle has been with us from the very beginning. She's from Arizona. She started listening to the paranormal podcast in 2005. Started listening to the campfire when that came along, and she's still here. She's one of the OGs. So, Michelle, thank you so much for being with us all these years.
Starting point is 00:25:27 And I'm glad that you decide to come on and tell your story, and that sounds like a spooky one. Thank you for joining. us today and tell us what happened. Yeah, well, during this time, I was working 10-hour shifts, so I was getting up at 3.30, catch a 5.30 bus, start work in Phoenix at 6.30. So my day started very early in the morning. I was wide awake for whatever reason at 1 o'clock. I'd already been awake for an hour, and I was not happy. I was very mad about the whole thing since I knew the alarm was going to go off soon, and I still wasn't sleeping. And then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, I hear this just shriek in the hallway. And I don't know what was happening. I'm the only human in the house.
Starting point is 00:26:13 So no one else is going to be shrieking in here except me. And it was this almost like a shriek of frustration. You know, when you're just like, you're just fed up with whatever is going wrong. Except it was kind of almost like a higher pitch. It just didn't sound human to me at all. and it only lasted for a few seconds. Of course, you know, when these things happen, it seems like it lasts for, you know, 10 minutes, but it was just a few seconds. But again, since I was wide awake, it wasn't a nightmare that woke me up.
Starting point is 00:26:44 It was whatever this thing was. And I can't remember exactly what I did first. I'm pretty sure I just, after being frozen, I prayed. And then I probably grabbed my gun that was right next to me and then the light. Turn that stuff around. which I had first. Gun or the light. I just knew. Watch out, ghost. Or whatever you are. Yes, exactly. I didn't think the gun was going to help with this situation, but it still
Starting point is 00:27:11 felt better having that sucker in my hand. So, I mean, once the light was on, I just sat there for a minute looking around, nothing happening at the room. And then I looked down at the dog next to me to see, was it a nightmare? I don't, I don't think so. I'm pretty sure I've been awake for a couple hours. And no, she was sitting there, a little border collie mix. And she was terrified. She was standing up in her bed. Her little tail was tucked just as tight as she could get it. And she was shaking.
Starting point is 00:27:40 She was quiet. She wasn't barking, which is not normal for her. She'll usually bark at anything. But she was silent and just shaking. So I knew it was not a nightmare, not my imagination. She heard it too. So I finally got up out of the bed and started turning on lights. Just around the corner is the hallway.
Starting point is 00:28:01 So I walked out there, turned on that light. Of course, you know, I got the gun on the hand the whole time. And looking around, checking every room and nothing. There was nothing there. I found my one cat under the dining table right next to the living room. And she was a little orange tabby. She was just all fluffed out. So whether she saw it, I don't know, but obviously she at least heard it.
Starting point is 00:28:27 So she was a little freaked out. again walked through the whole house nothing turn on every light i'm sorry remember correctly every light stayed on for the rest of that night uh even check the garage absolutely nothing there i don't know what the heck it was um i did check i think i mentioned i had two others uh i had a both of the the dog and the cat the original ones those were female i have another dog and another cat who was maybe nine months at the time both of them boys they slept through everything heard out of absolutely nothing. They were, they were just snoring away in the corner. So it was just as girls that were on alert and heard this thing. And yeah, that was basically, yeah, like I guess it was very short, just a maybe second, but it's stuck with me. I still do not know what that was. I am glad that I did not see whatever was hearing it was enough to still bother me, you know, 10 or so years later. So, but that was that story. Well, I'll tell you, you know, the thing is, is that I think people forget, you know, if you're asleep, you know, you're dead asleep or something, or even if you're just lying in your bed or something, when you hear something intruding on your house, see, I think even the most paranormal minded of us, unless we've had a series of events at that particular house, first thing we go is not ghost. The first place our mind goes is intruder. Somebody's broken into my house. So, I mean, I think your reaction
Starting point is 00:29:57 was a very natural one. Indeed. Yeah. Indeed. Yeah. And that place did it seem, you know, it was pretty spooky. Lots of stuff happened there? A few things.
Starting point is 00:30:10 I don't know if they're related to this thing. Honestly, I tend to think this thing was attracted to maybe how angry I was. I don't know. So, nothing like that had happened before. So maybe it's just because I was just so mad. Yeah. Like maybe there's just a, just a neon sign to nasty critters. It said, oh, okay, that's like a good place. We'll check this one out. And I don't know, but that was just my, strictly my theory. I remember a few small things that happened over the years at one point I had with, I have to have the same kitten. He was a little younger, maybe three or four months. And I had a little bucket of tiles, just tiny little one inch square tiles that I was going to put in the bathroom. And they were just sitting in a little tub. And I would come home from from where, two days in a row this happened and there were four or five tiles just
Starting point is 00:31:00 out of the bucket laid out on the shelf next to them perfectly straight and kittens do not do that if kitten had played in that bucket of tiles they would have been all over the place but this was perfectly straight the second day that I came home I found that I just said okay I don't know who you are
Starting point is 00:31:16 what you are I did not ask you to be here and you need to leave and that never happened again I think there was something else but nothing major I have a feeling, Michelle, you're no one to be trifled with. I think whether you're a ghost or you're an intruder, watch out. Michelle's going to get you.
Starting point is 00:31:34 Well, Michelle, thank you so much. I really appreciate. Thank you for being on the show. And thank you for listening. My gosh, what is that? 21 year. I'm not a math major, but 21 years. That's amazing.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Something like that. Yeah, yeah. Awesome. Thanks, Michelle. Stay spooky. Thank you, Jamie. Stay spooky as well. Bye-bye.
Starting point is 00:31:52 Next up on the campfires, Joe from the United Kingdom. and I'd love to hear from our listeners in the UK. It just amazes me that folks are listening to our shows all the way across the ocean. And I really appreciate it. And Joe's been listening to us for a few years. And she's going to tell us about a situation where she lived in a very old house. Some very strange things happened. Joe, welcome to the show.
Starting point is 00:32:15 Tell us what happened. Hi, Jim. Thank you so much for letting me tell my story. Yep. So we're going way back to 1995. I was a student at Staffordshire University. Lived in a terraced house with two of their roommates. And there was just a series of very unfortunate events that I can't quite explain.
Starting point is 00:32:38 So the first, so just to explain, my bedroom was downstairs, which would have been the dining room and two bedrooms upstairs. And my bedroom had a fireplace that had been like semi-bordered up. And that's important for the story later on. So we moved in, and about two months later, my roommate was coming down the stairs and she collapsed at the bottom of the stairs in fear. But what is interesting, Jim, is that she could not tell us what she saw. Her brain reacted, but her eyes didn't see it, but she was terrified. And this is a girl that is highly skeptical, you know, wasn't into any of the kind of paranormal. So we were a little bit of a cofuffle.
Starting point is 00:33:29 And then the second one, which is a bit of a head scratch, so about two, three months later, I was sitting in my bedroom studying and I was facing the window and the fireplace is to my right, slightly behind me. And I heard what sounded like a cry of a baby. and then I heard scratching and I thought it was outside so I ignored it and I heard it again and I got really concerned and I was looking around and this cry and this noise was coming from the chimney from the fireplace that was boarded up
Starting point is 00:34:08 so by this point I had started to kind of escalate and get really worried and we had some sweet neighbours next door, one of whom was a man called Jerry. And I went next door to Jerry, and I said, I think there's a dead baby in my fireplace. Oh. So he was utterly perplexed. And he came round, bless him with his toolbox.
Starting point is 00:34:32 And he was stood in my room, and he heard it. So he got his hammer out, and he started to bash in the wood that was blocking the fireplace. and a live kitten fell out. Oh, my goodness. Oh. A tiny kitten gym. It mustn't have been older than 10 weeks old because it fit in my hand.
Starting point is 00:34:56 Alive and well, not injured. So good. Jerry and I are stood there like confused. What happened? He didn't know anyone that had a kitten. I don't know how it got down my chimney. And this is a row of terraced houses. So there was about 20 houses in one row.
Starting point is 00:35:17 So we started to knock on doors and it belonged to a family five or six doors down. They had a litter of kittens and we don't know how it got there. It was definitely theirs. It hadn't been outside. So how did the kitten get in my chimney? We don't know.
Starting point is 00:35:39 And then the third one, this was the kind of the crescendo, which again happened about two. or three months later. I was in bed. I've just spoken to my mum. It was late at night. And underneath my bedroom was the cellar.
Starting point is 00:35:53 And there was this pervasive, foreboding sense of like, I want to see evil rising. It was just this feeling that was lifting. And I could feel it coming through the floor. And I was terrified. And by that point, like my cortex had flipped its lid. the amygdema I had taken over, I was going to die. But I couldn't move and I was really, really scared. And then on the outside of my door,
Starting point is 00:36:23 there was a metal bolt that the former student had installed. And I heard it just very slightly go, like move. And then I felt, I heard fingernails, like long fingernails and drilling on my door. Like, huh. And I was utterly. paralyzed with fear and I somehow threw myself off
Starting point is 00:36:48 my bed and I began screaming and I thought I was going to die I opened the door and I thought it was going to be someone there I felt like a man and there was nobody there and I like ran into the hallway screaming hysterically my two roommates came flying down the stairs like I heard of bloody elephants and I was really distressed
Starting point is 00:37:12 then they got really distressed. We were all really upset. And for about a week, I couldn't sleep in my bedroom at all. And we never got to the bottom of it. We were there every year. And nothing else happened. But the house was always very, very dark,
Starting point is 00:37:31 like no matter what time of day. And we had a bunch of boys living next door. And they said that when I, when we left for half, break a half-term break. They stayed and they could hear banging and things moving around
Starting point is 00:37:49 in the upstairs bedrooms and they called police because they thought we were being burgled and there was nothing there. So I don't know, Jim, there was just these three incidents
Starting point is 00:38:03 within six a month and it was just so frightening like to the point when we moved out it broke our friendship, we didn't speak I think we were just so traumatized and we wouldn't even stay in the house on our own.
Starting point is 00:38:18 We would go to the library if we knew one of us wasn't going to be in because none of us wanted to be alone in that house. Well, there's only one logical explanation. It was haunted. Yeah. Wow. Wow.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Yeah, and I think that when you want to get out of a place so badly and it kind of breaks apart the friendship, yeah. It says, something about that place. And I mean, there's a, I'm sure it was very, very old, right? Very old? It felt like I haven't brought maybe like early 1900s. It was a weird house. The staircase was in a cupboard like a Harry Potter cupboard. It was weird. It was just a really dark house. And what was weird, Jim? I know I'm running out of time. But our gas and electric meter was downstairs and that's where we had to top it up to charge it with a card.
Starting point is 00:39:12 And I used to go down there and put money on the meter. But to this day, I have got no recollection of that seller. I remember walking halfway down the stairs. And then I remember nothing else at all. That's interesting. So you wonder if you witnessed something or saw something that was so terrifying that your mind has blocked it out? Like my friend did, who fell at the bottom of the stairs. Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:39:41 Well, again, some of the most interesting campfire stories, M, with a question mark, not a period. Joe, thank you for being with us today. I appreciate it. Thank you so much, Jim. Stay spooky. Stay spooky. Our fantasy commission says for him it's all about the friendships. Cute, Kevin, but I disagree.
Starting point is 00:40:05 Like with Bet365. I get paid the second my team goes up big with early payout and can cash out at any time before the game ends. No hard feelings, Kevin. Just faster payouts from Bet365. The home of winning early. Must be 19 and older. Ontario only.

Download the 2020. performance playbook and discover why Spotify belongs in your media plan. We have Annalisa from Nevada. Now, years ago, I might have said Nevada. You know, I was trying to be all fancy. And somebody from Nevada told me, Jim, it isn't Nevada. It's Nevada.
Starting point is 00:41:24 So Annalisa from Nevada is here. She's been listening for a few years and we're so glad to have her with us. And she has a family story. I love these family stories. And this one is about her dad. And Alisa, welcome to the show. Thanks for listening and thanks for joining us tonight on the campfire. Tell us what happened.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Well, it was a dark and stormy night, literally, in 1995 or so. So this is about, what, 30 years ago. Yeah. And my dad worked for the Northwestern Pacific. And it was a huge flooding rainstorm. and he was the superintendent of this railroad. And at the time, Cincinnati was an emergency situation, the Russian River, they were outside of Napa near Shellville, I believe it is,
Starting point is 00:42:17 where the Russian River is near where the rail yard was in their depot. And he got a call and had to go out and meet his engineer out there. And they met at the depot office walking out. to the train, they, to the engine, he, this truck pulls up and this guy gets out and he says, you know, do you guys need any help? And my dad said, sure, do you have a flashlight? And, and he did. And rain gear, they all, because it was, it's pouring down rain. It's, you know, above their shoes, I think the water is rising. Snakes are slithering around, trying to get away from the flood.
Starting point is 00:43:03 And so they get on the train. They start moving rail cars around and stuff. And there's two cars that contain 30,000 gallons of formaldehyde that they're trying to get out of the yard. And or get that train move because, and it's also on a wooden trestle that is slowly losing its stability because of all the. pressing water. And so they do some switching and maneuvering and are able to line up the engine to where they could couple onto these cars and pull the train across this wooden trestle. And they're on a raised bed the track is connected to the wooden trestle.
Starting point is 00:43:56 And so as the train apex, X's the bridge and the track, it kind of starts to uncouple. And the, the formaldehyde cars are still kind of right on top of the wooden trestle part. And so, because of the way the coupling works,
Starting point is 00:44:22 it just kind of slowly slipped up. And so they, he and the other guy, his helper, were able to get like some railroad ties or something to lift it up to on the spot try to get it to a couple back on. And the guy that he was with, you know, had a lot of knowledge, it seemed, to railroad working knowledge. He was able to, you know, assist in different things on the rail yard or when they were working with the train at that time with brake lines and switching track and stuff. And so he's like, well, if I take a railroad spike, we can maybe get some leverage.
Starting point is 00:45:05 And then if you have the rail ties, we could put underneath the coupler to, you know, couple this back together. And so my dad goes and to push down on the rail tie to, you know, get some leverage. He goes head first into the water on the side of the tracks and is completely in the water. And my dad is six-four and cannot really grab a hole of anything. He's not touching anything. There's debris and stuff flying all around. And he's basically drowning.
Starting point is 00:45:39 And, you know, he could feel the water coming up, his nose and in his eyes. Oh, my Lord. He was in danger. He was in real danger. Yeah. And he couldn't gradually catch on anything. And so he hears this voice in his head that said, just try one more time. Just one more time.
Starting point is 00:45:57 And so he reaches up as far as he can and grabs onto the stirrup of like a box car or a rail car that's there. And then he feels the helper guy grab onto his wrist and pull my dad, you know, sopping wet, 6-4, what, 250, I don't know, pounds. And he's able to get him out of the water. And then also during that time, he had actually lifted the 300-pound coupler up by himself and shoved the gold spike into the coupler to get it back together. So that was all done as well. And so they were able to kind of go on with the night. and he's in the engine with his engineer, who's his actual employee,
Starting point is 00:46:55 and he says, so who is this guy? And the engineer looks at him, he's like, I don't know. I thought he was with you. Or you knew it, but he's like, I don't know him. And so they were able to, you know, get what they needed to be accomplished. And as they were leaving, my dad, and really thank the guy and said, hey, you know, I really owe you one. And, and the guy just said, you know, he didn't say anything. He just basically walked off, you know, waved his head, had gotten
Starting point is 00:47:29 his truck, and drove off. And never heard from him again, never saw. And so it was almost like he was like this guardian angel that was able to be there at the right place at the right time. And, you know, I don't know if he was prompted or what. But anyway, it was, uh, that's that's my story so so i mean did your dad think that maybe it was literally an angel because you said in one point did he lift something that was 300 pounds did you well my my dad was you know he's probably about 250 and the the couplers they're that's when i meant yeah the coupler yeah and also as he was reaching for a railroad spike he just like reach down into the water because he's not really looking at what he's doing and just pulls out of the spike like oh this will work and my dad's
Starting point is 00:48:23 like what because it was in a railroad tie and those are pressurized and stuff like that so that's kind of i don't know is this like everything flowed really well with that guy there and he seemed like he knew what he was doing but it's really i mean in a position of your dad's authority wouldn't he know of most the personnel in that area yeah um he never he never knew the guy and they did more operations more in northern more northern California. Right. And it's also against the FRA to have non-employees be there. That's, so it was kind of rare for him.
Starting point is 00:49:04 Yes, legality. Maybe it was an angel railroader from the past and he really seemed like he knew what he was doing. Yeah, maybe. Yeah, yeah. Pretty cool. Well, we've had angel stories before. I do believe they exist. I do believe they exist, Anna Lisa. And thank goodness your dad ran into one that night.
Starting point is 00:49:30 Thank you so much for sharing your story on the campfire and stay spoken. Well, it's a pleasure. Thank you. One of the coolest things about doing this show is you never know where people will call in from. And Natasha is in Peru. And I think we have had callers in Peru before. But we're so glad to talk to Natasha. And she's going to take us back to 2008 and 2009, that kind of era and some strangeness that ensued.
Starting point is 00:49:57 Natasha, welcome to the program. Thanks for being a storyteller. And tell us what happened. Hey, Jim, it's good to be back. Thank you for having me. So, as you said, it's 2008. I have just graduated university. and because I'm no longer a student anymore, I can't live in university accommodation anymore.
Starting point is 00:50:17 So I ended up moving into a shared house with random people that I didn't know. This house was in Birmingham, in the Midlands, in England. It was quite a big house. It had seven beds, three bathrooms, split over about three levels. And it was not too old by UK standards, but quite old by US standards. So it was built late Victorian era around 1900. And it always had quite an oppressive kind of spooky feel to it. You know, you never felt quite comfortable there.
Starting point is 00:50:53 You always felt like you were being watched. I never really wanted to be downstairs at night. And if I really had to go downstairs, I'd switch on all the lights. And it was quite a dark house physically too, because there wasn't much natural light coming in because it was still quite Victorian-esque, if you know what I mean. So a couple of weeks after I moved in, another girl similar age to me called Gemma also moved in and we quickly became quite good friends. And this first story is actually
Starting point is 00:51:22 her story. So I was away for the weekend visiting family in another part of the UK. Gemma was in the kitchen washing dishes and we had a window above the sink in the kitchen And because it was dark at this point, she couldn't see outside. She could see herself and the rest of the kitchen behind her reflected in the window. So she's washing the dishes and she notices somebody stood behind her. And she kind of startled because she hadn't heard, you know, any of our housemates come into the kitchen. So she turns around, but nobody's there. So she looks back into the window and there's definitely somebody stood behind her.
Starting point is 00:52:02 and she described this person to me as being female, late teens. And she said that the girl was wearing a maids outfit. So, you know, like a kind of white pinny, an all-fashioned one. So I don't know if you've ever seen Downton Abbey, but the type of thing is definitely. A big fan, big fan. Yeah. Of the TV show, not so much, not so much the movies. The movies leave a little bit of desire, but the show was great.
Starting point is 00:52:29 But anyway, go ahead. Yeah, I agree. So similar to, you know, what the staff wore in that show, which actually fits in with the time period that the house was built into. So she's braver than I am because she turns around again for a second time. There's still nobody behind her. She turns back to the window for a third time. There's still somebody behind her. And now she notices that the person, the girl, had moved closer to her.
Starting point is 00:53:00 So she said that she was probably, you know, like around a meter away from her the first two times that she saw. But the third time, she'd moved like right behind her. Like she was very close to kind of her ear. So at this point, Gemma finally freaks out. She runs upstairs to her room. Her room was on the top floor in the loft area. It was a conversion. And because it was night, she left the lamp on in her room.
Starting point is 00:53:25 And she said that as she got into the room, the lamp went off. and she was just plunged into darkness. And she was so scared that she couldn't even sort of scramble around to switch the light on. She was just sort of paralyzed by fear, like sitting on her bed. And she said that she basically just sat there in the darkness for about five minutes. And then eventually the lamp just came back on its own. And that was that. So then my story, this happened a few months later.
Starting point is 00:53:56 Sorry, I'm just going to take a simple water. And by this point, Gemma had moved out because I lived there a bit longer than she did. So I was in this house for about 16 months in total. And one night, one of my friends, and I won't tell you her real name and you'll understand why. Second, we'll call her Sal. She was staying over for the night and we've gone out for a few drinks. We come back and we just come back into the house. We just re-entered the house.
Starting point is 00:54:26 And I should say, yeah, we had had a few drinks, but we weren't drunker. anything like that. You know, we still knew exactly what was going on. Sure. And as we were in the hallway about to go upstairs, one of my other housemates, Anna, had just come out of the bathroom to go back into her bedroom because her room was on the ground floor. So we all, you know, just sort of stood there, the three of us for a few minutes, you know, making small talk about the evening. And then at the same time after a few minutes, all three of us basically looked further down the hallway was to have been about maybe three maximum four metres further down the hall towards the living room area.
Starting point is 00:55:10 And that part of the house was in darkness. And we all basically saw a huge shadow figure. So it was your, yeah, it was your stereotypical, you know, blacker than black. So, you know, the darkness behind, it stood out, you know, against the darkness behind it. It was huge. You know, the ceilings in this house were high, especially in the downstairs part. So it must have been a bare minimum of seven foot, but I'd probably say it was taller than that, to be honest. And it was very broad too.
Starting point is 00:55:43 You know, it was wide. It was kind of like, yeah. So, you know, I couldn't see any features. it was just like a shadow, you know, a silhouette. And it was kind of fuzzy on the edges, if you know what I mean? Like the edges went clean, you know what I'm saying? Right. And yeah, it didn't actually do anything.
Starting point is 00:56:04 It was just sort of there. And, you know, obviously we all had this kind of dark feeling from it. And we all, like, in a comedy horror film, you know, sort of looked at it. Our brains took a second to realize. Then we all looked at each other, screamed. and ran. And poor, and she must have been terrified because her room was right next to it on the ground floor. So I felt really sorry for her. I don't know why she didn't come upstairs with us, but she didn't. And Sal and I ran upstairs to my room. So, you know, once we'd sort of calm down,
Starting point is 00:56:37 Sal and I compared notes and we'd seen the same thing. But then it got even weirder because Sal was saying to me, oh my God, you know, this is my fault. This is my fault. And I'm like, what? You know, no, you know, this house is like super creepy. it's probably something to do with the house. And she's like, no, no, you don't understand. I've seen that before. I think it's attached to me. So then she proceeds to tell me that a couple of weeks prior to this,
Starting point is 00:57:03 she'd been on a night out and she was pretty drunk. She was being driven home. I think her brother was a designated driver. And she really needed to pee. And basically she couldn't hold it anymore. So she had to ask her, she had to ask her brother to pull over. She got out to go and pee basically in nature and they were near a graveyard at the time and she slipped into the graveyard and she basically pees on someone's grave.
Starting point is 00:57:32 Oh, that I should say that. That's a no-no. Yeah, exactly. So I should say that me and her are not friends anymore for obvious reasons because this is the type of thing that she did and it just didn't really, you know, fit in with how I'm... Yeah, that's not a... I mean, I understand when you got to go, you got to go, but you can be respectful. That's necessary. I agree.
Starting point is 00:57:55 So soon after that, she told me that she started to see a shadow figure. Now, I have no idea if it was the exact same shadow figure that we saw in, you know, my house or what. But she said it looked like that. And she also started to have, you know, like bad dreams, sleep paralysis. So her, you know, theory was that it had attached to her because it was offended. and it had followed her to my house that night. Or maybe, I don't know, maybe it was attracted in some way by the spookiness of the house that I lived into.
Starting point is 00:58:27 I don't know. But, you know, as I said, we worked together, but we didn't really get a chance to socialize and work because we worked in different departments. So the next time we hung out socially, you know, I asked her for an update. And she told me that in the end, she went and bought some flowers.
Starting point is 00:58:44 She found the grave again, put them on the grave. she apologized, said some prayers and blessings, and she said that after that, you know, the spooky, the spookiness stopped. And yeah. So I lived in the house for probably about seven months after that. And, you know, it did still feel, you know, dark, oppressive. But I didn't have any sort of concrete, you know, any more concrete kinds of experiences myself. And that's.
Starting point is 00:59:15 Yeah, that's. Wow. Because originally I was going to ask you, do you think the two figures were the, the maid-like figure, and this one were connected? It sounds like it's a totally different thing, totally different thing with the whole incident and the great. But it's like, I don't know. I think what comes to the dead, we should treat them as we hopefully treat the living and treat them with respect.
Starting point is 00:59:37 So that was kind of the out of line. But good for her that she recognized that that was not proper. And she tried to try to make it right. and it sounds like it hit a nerve. Well, Natasha, good to talk to you again. At first, I knew that I had talked to a caller in Peru, and I thought maybe it was you. We're not doing video today.
Starting point is 00:59:57 And then it's like, oh, yes, it is Natasha. So good to talk to you again. Thank you for being on the campfire and stay spooky. Thank you so much. Stay spooky, jam. Bye. Our fantasy commission says for him it's all about the friendships. Cute, Kevin, but I disagree.

Starting point is 01:01:27 Because whether it's a road trip or a business trip, where your flight's delayed, your phone's at 2% and your dinner is whatever's open? Yeah, here for that too. Enterprise, we're here for it. Lori is on the line and as I told her, when anybody shares a story in the campfire, I'm very appreciative, but particularly when it's something that is so personal and so sensitive and so poignant.
Starting point is 01:01:54 And we thank her for being with us today. Lori, welcome to the show and tell us what happened. Oh, thank you. Well, I'd like to introduce you to my daughter, Brianna. This is her. She was. Maybe if I can get her in there. Yeah, you need to move it over. Yeah, there you go.
Starting point is 01:02:13 There we go. In 2014, she accidentally overdosed and passed away. And needless to say, it was very, very traumatic for me. Of course. It took me about 11 years before I could actually connect to the feeling of joy. So the story is she was. She passed away on August 31st, and about two months later, I had personal business in C.U.D. Juarez, about 2,000 miles away. And while there, I decided I wanted to take home a little souvenir that would fit in my suitcase.
Starting point is 01:02:56 And, you know, I kind of like decorating the house and stuff. So I had been to a mall and looked around and nothing had quite quite caught my eye. And then it was nearing the end of the time when I would have to leave. And I tried one more shopping center with my husband. And we went into the first store that was housewares. And I'm looking around. And I caught a little pottery vase. So I went over to it.
Starting point is 01:03:29 And this is it. And I went over to it. And I picked it up. And I flipped it over. And there was a name inscribe on the bottom. And it'll be hard to see. But trust me, it's what it says. The name on the bottom is Brianna.
Starting point is 01:03:52 Wow. Wow. Which is my daughter's name. So I'm sorry. I can't really get a good shot of it. Yeah, it's difficult to do that. But I understand. It is.
Starting point is 01:04:04 So from what I've researched. To find a name inscribed on the bottom of pottery shows that it was not just mass-produced in Ciad Juarez for sale. That it actually was worked on by an individual, which makes sense being that it has the name right here. So I could not believe it. I could not believe it. There was another one there. These were the only two there in the whole entire store. and when I flipped it over, it also had the name Brianna.
Starting point is 01:04:40 Yeah, we can almost see it right there. If you leave it right there, we can see it right there. We can see it. Yeah. So Brianna and the last name. Now, I'm over 2,000 miles away from home. In order for someone to be old enough to work on this, I figured they had to be born in about 2,000.
Starting point is 01:05:02 I'm sorry, my dog is, of course, going to act up. They had to be born in about 2000. The name Brianna with one N is not very common in the United States. And in 2000, it was an uncommon name. I researched that it was only 0.027% of girls in Mexico were born. with the name Brianna. And that roughly equates to, out of 10,000 baby girl births,
Starting point is 01:05:42 only one or two were named Brianna. So the chance that I'd be 2,000 miles away, just two months away from the death of my daughter, go into this particular strip mall, go into this particular store, have my eye catch this, this particular vase and have it be my daughter's name that was written exactly as she writes it. My jaw just hit the ground. I had goosebumps all over. I call my husband over to me.
Starting point is 01:06:17 I just, I still cannot believe it. It seems divine because it's just like just one of those things. Like you like to put it, I don't know how to explain the chance of that. happening. I say it's too much of a coincidence to be a coincidence. Yeah, 2,000 miles away, spelled the same in an extremely uncommon name. I take that to mean that it was her way of saying to me that no matter where I go, she'll always be with me. I believe it, Laurie. I believe it. And bless you and bless your daughter. And thank you. And, uh, Yeah, I take it the same way you mean that. Mom, I'm there.
Starting point is 01:07:07 I may not, I may not be here physically, but I'm always here with you spiritually. Again, too much of a coincidence to be a coincidence. Thank you. I have one more quick story. Sure, go ahead. And the same theme. So, after she passed away, I went on this Christian retreat. There was probably at least 100 people there.
Starting point is 01:07:29 And when I went into the, it was like a converted motel. So there were many, many rooms there. And as we walked in, it was two people to a room. And as I'm walking down the hallway to put my things in my room, I noticed all the doors are open. And they all have a different saying painted on the inside wall of the room, kind of like Christian motivational type sayings. Now, when my daughter was going to be in her casket, I decided I wanted to buy her a piece of jewelry, a necklace that she could wear and take with her. So I found this little tiny gold locket and on it said, with God, all things are possible.
Starting point is 01:08:20 So now I arrive at the retreat. I check in. I'm going down the hallway. I'm reading all the signs that are written on the wall. And like I said, there had to be at least 60 rooms and every single one had something different. My room had, with God, all things are possible painted on the wall. And I could not believe, again, the likelihood of that. She's getting you those messages, Lori.
Starting point is 01:08:56 She's getting you those messages. Thank you for sharing this very personal. these very personal stories on today's campfire and bless you and your daughter. Oh, you're welcome. I'll be signing up for more Brianna stories. There's a ton of them that are just incredible. I have an incredible orb story where I actually quite a photo of it. And so, yeah, well, thank you for having me on. I love your show. I listen to it every night. And I appreciate you taking the time to listen. Giovanna is on the line for Texas,
Starting point is 01:09:33 and she's been listening for a couple of years, and we're so glad to be with her. And she's a Reiki practitioner, and something very interesting happened during one of her sessions. She's going to tell us about it. Giovanna, welcome to the show from the Great State of Texas.
Starting point is 01:09:50 Tell us what happened. Thank you for having me, Jim. So let me tell you a little bit of background about Reiki. So Reiki is the life force energy that is found in all living things. Some people know it as high vibrational energy or divine source energy. And it's a energy practice that has been brought from Japan. And here in the Western world is known as healing, energy healing, where the practitioner channels the high vibrational energy.
Starting point is 01:10:23 And it channels it into objects, people, or animals without needing to touch. So it can even be practiced from a distance. And I came across Reiki in the spring of 2021 when I went through my spiritual awakening. And my first experiences of Reiki were virtually on YouTube through Reiki, Rachel, her distance meditations. And the experiences that I had with Reiki were amazing. seeing. I immediately will feel like chills throughout my whole body. I can feel my spirit just
Starting point is 01:10:59 elevating into pure love, pure bliss, like a big warm of, you know, love. So it's so good that at the end of each meditation, she does ground you back into your body and I did not want to come back at all. So it became so addicting that first because every, you know, every break I had from work or lunch, I wanted to just, you know, go into a meditation and experience Reiki. So I've been doing, you know, having those distance Reiki meditations for since 2021. And I think in 2024 in the spring, I got the opportunity to become a practitioner. So I took, I took an in-person course and I became a practitioner in level one and level two. and some of the experiences I had there were so much more difference from the virtual ones.
Starting point is 01:11:54 For example, at the end of each level, you had to go through an attunement from a Reiki master. And my first attunement, my Reiki master did say that there was a spirit guy. She's seen a spirit guy right behind my shoulder. And when I was going through attunement, I just had, I felt like I was in a vortex. I had all these energies just swerning around me. I was just seeing all these colors so much that I had to kind of take a little breather because I was getting nauseated. And then when we did the level two, we did practice on one another and my teacher practiced on me. And it was very interesting because compared to having a distance Rakey session now having something in person,
Starting point is 01:12:38 I felt the rush of heats of energy all the way from my feet all the way up to my throat. and I always I always tell with having stuck energy here or overusing my throat chakra. So when she was working on my throat chakra, she began to cough, coughing so much and said, wow, you have a lot of stuck energy here. So she was able to, you know, release that for me. But another very interesting thing that when she was on my feet, she automatically started like painting, surling or like touching numbers. like in the sky, something I never seen. And so at first I was scared because like, oh my God, I never seen that.
Starting point is 01:13:22 But afterwards, I asked her like, hey, you know, what was that you were doing like in the air? She said, that's energy weaving. And that is me moving energy around without having to work directly on you. That is something that, you know, I do in the air. And she said she was guided by my angels to do that. So I believe it's energy or angel weaving? one of those two, but it's something weaving in the air, and that was very interesting. So after getting those attumans from level one, level two, I did open up my practice out here
Starting point is 01:13:55 in East Texas, and some of the experiences were just amazing having to see the different, you know, sessions that I go through with my clients. And so when I did my sessions, I pretty much just offer myself to the divine. I offer and say, hey, you know, use my vessel so that I may channel Reiki into whatever area, you know, we need to work on for the highest good of the individual in front of me. And then I also walk up my benevolent, me, benevolent beings, and also their benevolent beings. And that may include also pets or past loved ones who already passed. And then I start working to where I feel guided to. And most of my sessions would include doing energy surgery, where I'm guided to an area, and I'm really,
Starting point is 01:14:43 removing energy until I feel there is no more heavy energy there. And I send it down to Mother Earth so that I can transmit that energy into high vibrational energy. And then I go back to the area and I fill it up with the Reiki because we don't want to leave an open space because, again, that open space can always be filled with either good or bad. So we just fill it up with good. Right. And there were very few times where I didn't have to do any healing.
Starting point is 01:15:09 I just had to move energy around. and sometimes I would even see the color of the energy in my mind's eye. For example, one time I had a client who had a beautiful founcing of energy coming from her head all the way down to her stomach. And I was just kind of guiding that energy going flowing down. And it was a beautiful like yellow waterfall of energy just, you know, coming down from her head to like her stomach. So I was just kind of guiding that and moving that towards where I needed to. And then very few, I just had to hold space.
Starting point is 01:15:42 for some people, just kind of hold the space and allow them to heal themselves. Because ultimately, you know, us energy healers, we're not really healers. We're kind of just channeling or guiding for the individual to heal themselves. Right. Because if they're open to receptive to it, you know, there's like they're opening up themselves to healing. And if they're not open to it, then they're going to block it. And so some of the interesting things that have happened to me in some of my sessions is that one time I was breaking and another practitioner we were bartering.
Starting point is 01:16:15 And I felt the call to sneeze. And at first I didn't want to sneeze because I wanted to keep like, you know, the session sacred, didn't want to interrupt, but something told me that this was part of the session. So I sneezed, I released. And when at the end of the session, she asked me, are you allergic to cats? And I told her, no, why. And she said, because when you sneeze, she found my cat that had passed was just coming into my mind's eye.
Starting point is 01:16:41 So I thought that was pretty cool. Yeah. That was very nice that she had that visit. And then another time I had a freaky situation. I was working on a client. And I usually start at the head. And then I'm guided to either side. I went towards her left side.
Starting point is 01:16:59 And immediately as I was walking to her left side, I can see from like my side, like the side view of my eye. I can see like a shadowy figure standing right on. top of her. Oh my lord. Yeah. And it wasn't like a like a demon or anything of that sword. It was just like like a shady, um, just like a figure like and I can see that this figure was there standing because I have them laying down so it was standing like right above her almost like it was coming out of the ceiling and looking down at her and it was just sucking her her energy out. It was sucking her energy out. But it didn't even last a lot. like when in one, two seconds, I immediately called my angels and I told them, take this being out and it was gone like that.
Starting point is 01:17:45 And yes, and when the session finished, because keep in mind that when I'm channeling, I'm not really my human self, this is, you know, the divine working through me. Right. And so at the end of the session, when I look back at that, I was surprised at myself that I wasn't scared, you know, but after, like, I was kind of freaked out like, wow, did that really happen? and I'm in shock that I didn't get scared, you know, when I was in the session and how quick and well that I reacted right away to get rid of it and be gone, you know? So, yeah, that was a very freaking situation. But yeah, we get all these cool experiences, you know. I haven't had any clients experience it or myself, but I have heard other individuals
Starting point is 01:18:28 who've experienced messages from past loved ones or visions when they're having the Rakey sessions. but the coolest things to me that I love about Riki is the healing, you know, because when you're unblocking your chakras, you're removing energy, you're filling it up with all the good energy, and this opens you up more to, you know, to your psychic abilities, to messages from the spiritual realm. So, yeah, that's just pretty cool for instance. I've always felt them when you can use something like that in addition to, you know, your traditional treatments and all the things your doctors tell you to do. I think there can be great benefits to it when it's a supplement. One thing I was going to say is, I mean, it would seem to me that you would see things like the things you're describing because you're working with people at a very spiritual level. And, you know, we kind of walk around, I think, every day with kind of our shields up, you know, on our guard. And then when people are in this environment and working with you and you're working as a Reiki practitioner or receiving Reiki, everybody kind of lets their guard down and they're a little.
Starting point is 01:19:31 a little more open spiritually. So it makes sense to me that you would see things. Yes, yes. Amazing experiences. Well, thank you for what you do, Giovanna. Thank you for what you do. Thank you for being a part of the cave fire. And thanks for telling your story and stay spooky.
Starting point is 01:19:48 Stay spooky. Next up on the show is Elliot. And they have a very interesting story. I've heard of things like this. I don't know if we've ever had a story quite like this. But first, you wanted to give a shout out to your dad. Your dad obviously has great taste. He told you about this show and said you ought to give it a listen.
Starting point is 01:20:10 And here you are. So if you want to give dad a shout out, please do. Dad, stay spooky. Stay spooky. Well, thank you so much for joining us. Tell us your story. So in May 2024, I was giving it. my friend a ride home from work. We get off work late at night, so midnight-ish. We got into her
Starting point is 01:20:37 neighborhood, and it was really dark, like almost pitch black. The only light was my headlights from my car. And I came to a stop sign. I had my left turn signal on. I looked. I looked. Saw nothing. Nobody was coming. Nobody was there. And I went to make my left turn. My passenger side tires rolled over something. Ooh. Yeah. My friend and I looked at each other like, what was that? Did you see anything? No, I didn't see anything.
Starting point is 01:21:11 So I turn around. I pull you turn and we saw a man laying in the middle of the road. Oh, Lord. Yeah. I basically lived anybody's nightmare, like anybody who drives a car. Like, worst nightmare is running over somebody. and I, oh my gosh, started freaking out, dialed 911. And I was about to start CPR and the man when first officers rolled up and ambulances,
Starting point is 01:21:44 fire trucks, you know, the entire intersection was just lit up purple with all the lights. And he was pronounced dead on the scene. Oh, my. Yeah. we later found out that he had drugs and alcohol in his system and he must have fallen over in the street and he would have passed regardless we think but I was you know we were unlucky enough to find him so I for months and months and months afterwards I had nightmares about it um driving at night wasn't was awful flashbacks, all kinds of stuff. And then one night I was asleep and I was having this dream
Starting point is 01:22:34 where I was driving my car on a highway in basically like a void. You know, like it was just pitch black except for this highway. And it's silent and I'm driving and I look over at my passenger seat and he was there. Oh my.
Starting point is 01:22:55 Now, I've never met this man before in my life, never knew him, but he came to me in this dream. And he never said anything, but we made eye contact. And I just got this feeling, like this, like reassurance, I think, that he was telling me, like, it's not your fault. Right. And that it's okay. because I blamed myself, you know, I blamed myself for his death. And I thought that, you know, like, oh my gosh, like, it was not good. And it was like he was coming to me and telling me that it was okay.
Starting point is 01:23:38 And I looked back at the road. And when I looked back at my passenger seat, he was gone. And he didn't disappear in like a flash of light or anything like you would see in the shows. It's just he was just not there anymore. and then I woke up and I just got this, I just had this feeling like it was okay and that he had found peace. And I never had another nightmare about it again after that. Obviously, it still breaks my heart to think about, but I never had nightmares again.
Starting point is 01:24:12 So it's really one of those cases where, you know, it couldn't have been avoided, but yet you internalize that and I can understand that. I think I would be in the same situation. I would feel, you know, it would, it would, I'd be thinking about a lot of be bothering me. I could, I could definitely see that, even though wasn't your fault. Yeah. And it, yeah, I really did internalize it. Like, I blamed myself for it.
Starting point is 01:24:40 And I think he came to me to tell me that, like, it wasn't your fault. And, like, I don't blame you for what happened. And I desperately hope that whatever lies beyond this life that he has found peace, because anything in this life that can, you know, drive you to drugs and to alcohol, you know, you're obviously not, you know, okay. So I hope that he has found the peace that he deserves in the other life. Yeah. And the fact that he came to you, you know, and it sounds like a reasonable.
Starting point is 01:25:21 interpretation of it to me that that was kind of a closure moment in the fact that things have calmed down since then. Yeah. Yeah. Well, it's a difficult story to tell, Elliot, thank you for trusting us with us and thank you for being part of the campfire today.
