Starting point is 00:01:25 You know, we've talked multiple times and it just feels like deja vu all over again. And we've got her on the line and we're going to talk about an experience that she had with her nephew at Gettysburg, highly haunted. He started out as a skeptic, and we'll see where he ended up. Crystal, thank you for joining us. I appreciate it, and please tell us your story. Yeah, thank you so much for having me. I'm glad to be back.
Starting point is 00:01:54 So my husband and I bring my stepson and my nephew down to Gettysburg pretty much every year. It's been two years, I think, two or three years. And this year we got to investigate the Farnsworth Inn, which is a, it's a, I think it's a B&B, It's a hotel at least. They have a restaurant there. And during the day, they give you tours.
Starting point is 00:02:17 And we asked our tour guide, if there was any point in the tour, we could turn the lights off and do our own little investigation. And he led us after we were in the basement of the inn. And when we first went down, it was a little creepy. I didn't feel anything too weird. But we did hear what sounded like running up and down the stairs. behind us. It was super dark. We couldn't see anything. And then when we turned the lights off, I was able to use my IR camera. And I asked my husband Michael to knock three times on the pew because you sit in church pews and it looks kind of like a little funeral setup. So Michael knocked
Starting point is 00:03:02 three times. And then in Max, my nephew was doing the Estes method where you put the headphones on. We didn't have the blindfold, but he had the headphones on. He had the spirit box going. And so Michael knocked and then at least 30 seconds went by and Max says, I'm done. I can't do this anymore. And I felt kind of bad because there was a little girl there and I didn't want to scare her, but she was a trooper through the whole thing. She was really good. And Max, you know, I can't do this, I'm done, I'm out. So I was trying to figure out, you know, maybe he felt the vibration of the knock on the pew from Michael. And he said something tapped me on the shoulder. And I figured, you know, he's tall enough that his shoulders would reach the pew and that maybe
Starting point is 00:03:55 that's what he felt. And when I reviewed the footage, it showed that Max, my nephew, he was hunched over and in between his body and the back of the pew was my book bag. So he wouldn't have been, you know, leaning against the pew at all. So whatever it was, it actually came up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. And I think that made him a little more of a believer now. So he was pretty skeptical before. But now after this happened, he's a little more like, yeah, there was something to this stuff. I was, I was touched, right? Yeah. Yeah. He wants to do more investigative and he wants to go to the Hinstell house now. Oh my. Well, Max, stay spooky. Good job. Good job. I'm glad you got turned around to the path of wanting to learn more about the paranormal. And this place sounds pretty interesting, this Farnsworth Inn. It sounds like they give you a little bit of dose of history and the paranormal.
Starting point is 00:04:57 They do. It's a beautiful location right in the heart of Gettysburg and the tour guy that we had. He knew his stuff. I think he lived it. Well, a big stay spooky shout out to Max. I'm glad that you found interest in the paranormal and now you've got to learn more. That's very, very cool. And before we go, Crystal, we've got to say a stay spooky to somebody very special who is undergoing some sort of. challenges now and we want to wish him the best. Go ahead. My dear friend John Killian of the XV Plannis podcast sending you all the love buddy. So I'm grateful you're my friend. We're wishing John the best I got to meet John at the Monster Fest events, a great guy, and we're wishing him all the best in a speedy, speedy recovery. And a big stay spooky to you, to Crystal and to Max. And thanks for joining us today on the campfire. Thank you, John. Welcome to the Campfire. I am Jim Harold and so glad to be with you once again. And that's what we do here. We share real stories from real people of real supernatural activity, the paranormal. Some of it's terrifying. Some of it's spooky. Some of it can be heartwarming from time to time. But whatever it is, it's real, it's supernatural. We don't boost it up. We don't add sound effects. You know what? We don't need to. The stories are amazing.
Starting point is 00:06:28 themselves. And before we get back to more great stories, I'd like to ask you to consider joining my plus club at Jimherald.com slash plus. Now, it was the right move for the show and the listening experience, so I'm still glad we did it. So when you join Plus, you get access to over 2,700 episodes that are on the free feeds, including all of the campfires going back all the way to 2009. That's almost 17 years next month. Starting point is 00:07:48 And now here's another great campfire story. Well, next up on the Campfire, wow. Misha, a pilot. I was telling Misha, and this is for, I guess, a couple of decades or something, a pilot. I say, I would never have the ability to be a pilot, private or commercial, because I just wouldn't have the nerves of steel, you know, that's required. I was trying to get Misha framed up here and I was hitting the button wrong, let alone put me at the controls behind a plane. God forbid, God forbid. But Misha, on the other hand, she has it under control.
Starting point is 00:08:27 Misha, welcome to the show. Thank you for listening. I know you've been listening about a yearish. I know you're really enjoying the show Plus Club member. Thank you so much for all of that. And tell us your experience. Well, I think you're going to love this because I wrote this in as a UFO story, but I think you're going to label it a head scratcher.
Starting point is 00:08:46 And I've got my wild theories, but I'll let you decide. So this is a two-person story, and it started over 30 years ago. when I was just 13. I was at middle school, and I'm going to tell you specifically where, because the area may matter. There's an area of Monterey Bay called Corral de Tierra. There's a school back there I went to school at. I was at school one day at lunch, and all the kids are having lunch, and someone drew my attention
Starting point is 00:09:14 up. One of the kids, or maybe a few of them, I don't remember clearly, pointed up. and I looked up and what I saw made me actually flinch and duck to the side. Because what I thought I saw was a steel ball that someone had thrown in the air that was about to fall back down and hit someone. And the reason I thought that is it looked like a perfect stainless steel sphere, but I could tell it was spinning the way a ball would if you had thrown it. Right. And the way the light was glinting off of it in different ways looked like it was rotating. So my impression was this thing was about to, it was at the top of the arc and was about to start crashing down on us.
Starting point is 00:09:58 And I ducked to the side, kind of, you know, flinched, looked back up and it was still there. And it was hanging in the air. And not everyone saw it, but there were enough kids pointing at it and puzzled and confused that I know other people saw this. and you know over over time i pointed out that i'm a pilot because i think that lends a little credibility to that i know a lot of yeah a lot of people can be fooled by you know atmospheric conditions or you know mylar balloons and um you know i never knew what it was i never knew where to put it and i'm a skeptic and have been since i was a kid so i i went home at the end of the day and said mom i think i saw a UFO today and i described it to her. But I've never been able to put it in any reasonable box, so I just don't
Starting point is 00:10:45 think about it. I just, well, I don't know what it was. So fast forward. A few years ago, my mom calls me and says, I think I just saw a UFO. And I said, go on. Tell me about it. So she was in her yard, and you have to understand the layout. She lives on a hill that looks over a valley view. Corraldi-Tierra, it's this beautiful Steinbeck Country Valley View, and directly across from her is the other hillside. It's about a mile. And she looks at that view every day. She's watering the yard, and she says, and all of a sudden I realize there's a new house on the hillside across from me. And she said, my first thought was, when did that house go up?
Starting point is 00:11:28 And my second thought was, why did they build such an ugly house? So that house is here. They're scattered ranch style houses sort of on the hills. And she said it was round. It was like a sphere and it was made of metal and it had no windows. And she said she's looking at this thing going, is that a barn? How did they build it so quickly? And she's doing this for several minutes, watering the yard, looking back, studying it,
Starting point is 00:11:57 and then thinking there's no road that goes up that hill. Because our road that we take to the house, it goes right by that hill. And she's like, well, maybe they developed a different road on the back side. How did they build it so quick? And God, it's so ugly. And she's doing this for several minutes. And then she said all of a sudden it just wasn't there. It was there for several minutes.
Starting point is 00:12:19 She was looking at it, studying it, griping about it, wrinkling her nose about it. And then it wasn't. And she called me and said, I think I just saw a UFO. And she described it to me. And the first words that on my mouth were, do you mean that thing I saw in the sky in that exact same air? area a few miles away when I was 13. And she went, oh my God.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Yes, like a steel ball. Yeah, that's, and at first it didn't strike her that it was in mid-air. She thought it was a structure. No, no, this, when she saw it, she saw it, it was on the ground. It was on the hillside. It just, the way she described it was the same thing that I had seen suspended in the air. Wow, I see. So she initially was like.
Starting point is 00:13:07 Like, did I see a weird spherical UFO landed on the hill that then blipped out of existence? And I immediately said, I believe you. You're describing the same thing that I saw five miles away at my school all that time back. And she went, oh, man, you're right. I remember that now. The thing to me, pilots add so much credibility to all this. I don't know. I mean, you can call this a head scratcher.
Starting point is 00:13:41 I think there's real credibility there. I mean, the thing is to me, pilots add a great deal of credibility to these kind of things. Now, I did read something from this guy used to write for MSNBC, the old MSNBC, before it was MSN now. And this is probably a decade ago. His name was James Oberg. And he says, pilots are the worst witnesses. I'm like, what are you talking about? Pilots know how to identify fixed wing aircraft.
Starting point is 00:14:06 They know how to identify helicopters. They're smart enough to kind of have a sense of something as a military craft or something. Not that they're perfect, but they're way more qualified than the average Joe or Jane to identify a UFO is something very unusual. And even though you weren't a pilot at the time you originally saw when you were 13, you had all this time afterwards. I'm sure many times you reflected on that, recalled, I'm assuming, I'm guessing you have an eye for detail being that you do what you do, and you probably recalled it in great detail and probably analyzed it under the microscope of a pilot and said, yeah, that was an identified, that wasn't, you know, that was something really strange.
Starting point is 00:14:55 So I think that having a pilot talk about this adds so much credibility to it, in my opinion. in my opinion. Yeah, I mean, you know, I could easily file that away. But when she described this thing sitting in plain sight that then vanished from sight, that was exactly what I had seen sometime earlier, it made me revisit the whole thing. But I have another theory. And it's wild. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:20 I might know where you're going, but you go ahead and tell me. Okay. So you've had a lot of people on your podcast who've talked about time slips. And I've heard them talk about time slips from the past. things that they see that maybe once we're there but aren't anymore. What about a time slip for the future? What if it's not, what if that area is one day going to be developed in structures that we can't imagine yet? Because what she saw was a structure on the ground.
Starting point is 00:15:51 And it's not too crazy of a stretch to imagine, I don't know, a little levitating condo that you take your drone car up to. Like, what if it's a future time slip? I think that makes a lot of sense. The thing is, is that why I get, you know, I used to be in that camp, and I think so many people when they start looking at the UFO thing and thinking about the UFO thing, that they're like, oh, okay, they're coming from out there, they're here, they're visiting, and they're going back. And they're, think about the way we would think about space travel or we're thinking it's space travel at all. And I think that people, the more they get involved with this, they start thinking, okay, well, is it? is it that or is it time travelers or is it a glimpse into the past or is it something under the ocean because we know about transmedium craft so the point is that it almost becomes confusing because there's so many possible explanations but i think that one's really as good as anyone you know and we always think about looking back in time but you're right we never think about looking in the future yeah wow that's
Starting point is 00:17:00 Who knows? There's so much that I haven't even imagined it could be yet. Well, Misha, thank you so much. I really, really appreciate it. And again, pilots, they amaze me. I'm just, every time I walk on an airline and I see a pilot, like, you're a better person than I am. You're a better person than I am. I couldn't do it. I couldn't do it. So thank you for what you've done. I appreciate. And thank you for being a part of the campfire. And stay spooky.

Shelly is on the line from Washington State, and we're so glad to have her. And she's found a lot of... meaningful messages in dreams, and there have been multiples, and we're going to talk about it. Shelley, welcome to the show. Thank you for joining us. Tell us what happened. Hi, Jim. I am so excited to be here. Love your show. Also a plus supporter.
Starting point is 00:18:55 Oh, thank you. So, yeah, I'm in, yeah, sure. So I am in Southwest Washington State. I have a couple stories for you today. The first one started, this is kind of where my paranormal things started about last October. It's, I have this, uh, these visions through dreams. And that's the only way I can explain them. They're, they're not a dream. I've had sleep paralysis before. It's not that. It's very different. Um, but the first one started in October. Um, we had, to give you a backstory, we had a little cute little cattle dog named Daphne, aka Mu. Um, we adopted her in 2015. She was the best dog ever. But unfortunately, we lost her in October due to irritable bowel disease.
Starting point is 00:19:46 And it was really tough. You know, she was getting old, but it was still really tough. I was really close to her. And so we put her to sleep at home so she could be more comfortable. And when she went to sleep, I just whispered in her, I love you, come back to me. And then, you know, she went to sleep. and that was it. So this whole thing started like a couple days later. My husband and I were really, you know, distraught and, you know, still upset. And so we went to bed. And I usually in the middle of the night,
Starting point is 00:20:24 get up and go into the guest room because either my back's hurting or I can't sleep. So I get up in the night, go into the guest room. And in the past, Mooh had joined me in there, curled up on the bed next to me went to sleep. So we called the guest room, the girls' room. And anyway, I went to sleep. And I think it was around 2 a.m. in the morning, I had this dream, which is more like a vision. And in the dream, I was, I think downstairs, we have a hundred-year-old craftsman house. So I've been working on it since 2013. And downstairs is a main bathroom. And I was sitting in the corner of the bathroom in the bathtub, and I was looking out toward the door, and I could see on both sides, the walls were drywalled. And you know, when, you know, you do drywall work, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:17 if you've done drywall work, you have tape, and then you have mud over the tape. So you have those white lines. So that was kind of my viewpoint, looking out to the doorway. And in the doorway, She was just standing there and she had her head cocked to the side and just looking at me. And she was just standing there and she was kind of muted. You know, she was black and white, but she was kind of muted and a little bit transparent. And she had a blue aura glow around her. And if you think of Obi-Wan Canobi, that's kind of what she looked like. Yes, yes.
Starting point is 00:21:55 So immediately it jolted me awake, freaked me out because I'm like, oh my gosh, I just saw a ghost. And I immediately, you know, thought, oh, sorry, moo. I'm sorry. You know, thank you for coming to say goodbye to me. And that was kind of the end of that. Yeah. And I totally believe, and I've said this, we've had quite a few dream calls lately. And I said that something about the dream state, I think, opens us up to communication with the other side, premonitions.
Starting point is 00:22:28 there's just something about it. I don't know, but it kind of lifts that veil. But then this wasn't the only one. You had follow-up dreams. Yeah. So the other one, I'll get to the third one if I have time, but the one that's the most poignant is the one about my mom. So we've had some deaths this year, unfortunately.
Starting point is 00:22:48 So my mom got sick. Thanks. My mom got sick in November, and she was in the hospital. She was in the hospital pretty much all of January. And the doctors were trying to figure out what the heck was wrong with her. Couldn't figure it out. And I was on my way, actually, from my house over to her house, she has two little dogs. And I was on my way over to take care of her dogs. And it was really emotional and really frustrated. So I'm driving to her house. It's only about five minutes away, but I'm driving to her house. And I'm like, if anybody is out there, can you please give me a sign about what's going to happen because I can't not know, because we were just, you know, weeks without knowing what was going on with her. not 30 seconds later, Jim, I'm sitting at a light at an intersection, waiting for the traffic coming off the freeway to cross my path and go left, and a hearse drives in front of me. And I'm like, oh, geez. But it wasn't just any hearse. You think of a hearse as, you know,
Starting point is 00:23:49 black and shiny and pretty. This thing was like a 1940s, 1950s project hearse. It was big and boxy and kind of tall, and it was a gray and white primer. Like, it was getting ready for bodywork. So that crossed in front of me, and I'm like, really? Can you give me another sign, please? Make sure that I read that correctly because, yeah. So anyway, two weeks kind of go by, and, you know, we're kind of at the end of January, and she came home on a Thursday.
Starting point is 00:24:24 She was really alert, really happy to come home. You know, she decided to go into hospice. And so she was joking with the staff and everything. And then by Thursday night, she was pretty much not communicative at all. She could understand what people were telling her, but she just couldn't respond. So friends and family came around. They said their goodbyes. It was beautiful.
Starting point is 00:24:48 She, you know, had her dogs, whole nine yards. That night, my best friend came over. Her name's Sally. She and I have been best friend since we were. 12. She's more of a sister than a best friend of me, and she was very, very close with my parents. So she comes over and we're in the back room and we're talking. And I said, I have to tell you this story because my sister and my husband are both skeptics. You know, they just shake their head at me. So I'm like, I have to tell you the story. So I told her the story about the hers. And she's like,
Starting point is 00:25:18 well, I just saw your dad. And I said, what? What do you mean? And because my dad's been gone since 2019. And she said, Yeah, I was turning at the store because she's going to bring some stuff over for the gathering. I was turning at the store. And when I was turning left again at an intersection, he was standing on the corner of the sidewalk, just standing there looking at her. And she's like, oh, this can't be. So she kind of looks away and she looks back and he's still there. And at that point, it kind of registered that that was him. And then he just kind of dissipated. And the person, there was a guy standing there, you know, that didn't look anything like. him and he was just standing there. So I'm like, I started bawling. I was just super like emotional, you know, and she's like, oh, I shouldn't have told you. I shouldn't have told you. And I'm like, oh, yes, you know, I wanted you to tell me because it's very validating. And, and, you know, I was really happy. And I said, wait a minute. When did you start seeing ghost? And she's like,
Starting point is 00:26:18 oh, I've, I've always saw them. I just don't tell anybody because people think I'm crazy. So learn something new about my friend for, you know, over 30. years, 40-something years. Well, that is interesting. You know, there's a lot of people, I think, that have that experience. They see things and things happen to them, but they keep quiet about because they're afraid of the way it's, unfortunately, they're afraid of the way it's perceived. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:26:43 So the last part of the story is, you know, she passed away and a couple of nights later, I went into the guest room. And I don't know if the guest room means all ghosts welcome, because that seems to be when it happens. But I went into the guest room and went to sleep and I saw her in a vision. And this time I actually recognized it as a vision. But she was coming down a staircase. She was in this dark green dress and she was young and happy and beautiful and in good health.
Starting point is 00:27:12 And she had a green aura around her. And she was kind of muted just like when I saw moo. It was kind of like an old photograph. It wasn't super vibrant colors. But then I jolted me away. I woke up and thanked her for coming to say goodbye and I haven't seen her hands. Now, yeah, that's extremely poignant. And it's one of those things where, I mean, as tough as it is, I'm sure that it's in many ways a gift.
Starting point is 00:27:44 You said that there was a third story, though, another dream, right? Yes. This one's short. I'll keep this one short. This one was about my dance instructor. So she passed in April. In March, we did a tribute to her using her choreography on stage with 17 of her students. So it was a big thing. But she was not able to see it. Even, you know, online, she was unable to see it because she was, you know, in hospice at that point. And so we had the tribute. It was really successful. And in, you know, went in the guest room again, went to sleep. And I had a vision and she was just sitting in front of the stage. So, you know, like you're looking toward the stage and it was dark in front of the stage. And all I saw, her head kind of popped out from the
Starting point is 00:28:35 shadows and she had a big grin. Her name was Ruby. She had a big grin on her face and she had a green aura around her head. And then it kind of faded away and that was it. Wow. So that was, yeah. So that was my third. And I haven't had any sense, but I haven't also had anybody die sense. So knock on wood. I don't have any more for a while. Do you think this is something you have developed relatively recently? Have you had this ability your whole life? Nope.
Starting point is 00:29:03 I never had an ability like this my whole life. I've had, I think I've had one or two visitations in my dreams, but they're more like very vivid, you know, not ghost visitations. They're more like I'm talking with the person who has died and it's very real, but there's not the aura or anything like that. This is brand new. And I don't know if it's something because I'm more open to the paranormal now because I listen to your podcast and others. And I don't know if that's a reason. The interesting thing. So the thing about the hearse, being a project hearse, I kind of thought about that for a few weeks and kind of figured it out. I think whoever sent me that sign wanted to make sure, besides it just sticking out like a sore thumb, make sure that that hearse was different than my horse. neighbors first because my neighbors down the street work for a funeral home and they often have one or two hurses parked in the driveway. That was one thing. The other thing is I think my dad, I don't know if that, my friend Sally seeing him was my second sign that I asked for or if he was just coming because I haven't seen a real apparition. I don't seem to be able to see those. So I don't know if that was just him coming to say it's okay. You know, this is your second sign. There's something after this life.
Starting point is 00:30:24 I don't know. But those are kind of my two pieces of analyses. And my third piece would be, I don't know if anybody else has seen oras around apparitions or not, but I wonder if there's a different color aura for animals than for people, because both of my people apparitions have been green and moo is blue. That's really interesting. And we've done shows on oras before. It's a fascinating, fascinating topic.
Starting point is 00:30:48 And it appears to be real. It's very, very interesting. Shelly, thank you so much for sharing these very personal and poignant stories on the campfire today. Oh, also, would you like, these are pictures? Sure, go right in. I can post these if. Yes. So, sorry, I got to go this way with it.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Yeah, why don't you send those to us? Why don't you send those to us? And we will show them on the screen. But yes, certainly. My mom in the green dress. There's the actual green dress I think I saw her in. Oh, lovely. And this is Ruby.
Starting point is 00:31:22 Oh, yes, please email those to us and we'll be able to pop those up on the screen. Thank you again for joining us today on the Campfire. Absolutely. Thank you, Jim. Appreciate the show. Appreciate what you do. Next up on the Campfire is Adam from Florida. He's been listening for just a few months and we're so glad that he found us.
Starting point is 00:31:43 And I'm glad that he found us because this story sounds so cool. And it's one of those stories that, to me, hints to the reality that our existence is much stranger than we understand. Adam, welcome to the show, and please tell us what happened. Thanks, Jim. All right, so this story, it takes place probably around 2000, maybe 2001. But me and a couple of my friends, we were up in Vermont. his one of my friends his mother has a house up there overlooks mount mansfield it's up in stow it's a beautiful house
Starting point is 00:32:26 but it's pretty secluded and while we were up there it was pretty late at night it was probably about 11 o'clock or so and while we were all sitting on the porch there was probably about about seven of us, I think. And while we were all talking, like, I'm going to say this one little part, but I'm not sure if it's, it is related, but I think it could be. As we were talking, there's a house across the street. And it's pretty far. It's probably about 200 yards away, and it's down the hill. And as we're talking, you could see a couple of flashlights on the side of the house.
Starting point is 00:33:26 It kind of looked like they were searching for something. But it turned from like one flashlight to two to three. Then by the time there was like six or seven of them, I was like, man, that kind of stinks. They must have lost something pretty important over there. Yeah. But after that, we were still talking and we decided we're going to go and, uh, take a little walk down the road. So as we're all walking, it's really dark out.
Starting point is 00:33:57 It's like a wooded road. And one of my friends, he decides, he says, really stink right now as if we ran into a moose. And then we're all terrified. And we're like, oh, that would be awful if we ran into a moose right now. So I'm looking like intently in front of the road like is there a moose there? Because I can only see like 15, 20 feet. It's really dark out.
Starting point is 00:34:30 And as we're walking and we're chatting on in nowhere, it turns into daytime. And when I mean like daytime, it was like the sky just turned into like the sun was. out in the middle of the day. And we all stopped and we look at each other and we're like, oh my God, what was that? But nobody said anything. And it only took a couple seconds. It couldn't have been more than like five seconds the most. And we didn't say anything.
Starting point is 00:35:06 We all got really nervous. Like, well, I got really nervous. I wasn't sure. And we all just started walking back to the house really quickly. And as I'm walking back to the house, I think, I bet there's time missing because I'm automatically, my brain goes abduction, right? That must have been a UFO or something. So I checked the time. The time's normal.
Starting point is 00:35:32 It's fine. And then we all start questioning each other. Like, what was that? What was that? And we couldn't come up with any answers. like we couldn't think of anything because it couldn't have been a spotlight it couldn't have been like we couldn't
Starting point is 00:35:54 we had no explanation you know there there was a common thread my parents had a story that I've told on the show before I won't tell the whole story but one element was they were out in the wilderness parked like in this secluded area this is gosh when I was a baby
Starting point is 00:36:12 and I wasn't with them but they were out on their own. And the thing was is that one element of their story is the sky lit up just like daylight. And my dad said he could read the numbers on his spedometer of his old 1968 Buick LaSaber. So that reminds me of your story. That part of it, and there were some other things that happened to him as well. But I just think, Adam, that it speaks to the fact that we. live in a weird world.
Starting point is 00:36:46 Just strange stuff happens. It really makes not a lot of sense. But yet, there it is, and it happens. Yeah, like, I have no explanation. Yeah. I could think maybe, like, I've seen spotlights from helicopters, and if there was a helicopter there,
Starting point is 00:37:08 it would have been noisy. It would have been loud. Yeah. Like, nothing could have produced that type of light. Getting ready for the show, I talked to some other people telling them the story. Yeah. And one person mentioned maybe it was an asteroid that came by really, really quickly.
Starting point is 00:37:28 And I thought, you know what? Like maybe. But if that was the case, it wouldn't it? I don't think it would have turned like on and off so instantly. Yeah. And wouldn't there have been news reports, you know, for an asteroid, something like an asteroid that so many people would see? Do you ever think that maybe it was something like a UFO? That's where my mind went to right away.
Starting point is 00:37:54 And that's why afterwards I was thinking like maybe those flashlights on the side of the neighbor's house weren't just flashlights. And I really wanted to ask them if anything weird happened to them or if they noticed anything strange at night. but my friend whose mother's house was kind of insisted that I didn't go over there saying anything. Well, it's one of those things like that old song, things that make you go, hmm. Yeah, Adam, thank you so much for joining the show. Love your background there. Merry Christmas. Thanks. Merry Christmas, Jim. Your summer starts now with Memorial Day deals at the Home Depot.

Next up on the campfire is Jennifer from Wisconsin.
Starting point is 00:39:43 and she's been listening a few years now, and she's in the healthcare field, which we're always most appreciative of our great healthcare workers. They do so much. Jennifer, please tell us your story. Okay. Thanks for having me on, Jim. So this was approximately seven years ago. I'm an occupational therapist assistant,
Starting point is 00:40:09 and at the time, I was seeing some, folks at a assisted living facility. So I walked in one day and there was always this fella standing around. He was super friendly. He was a resident there who had dementia. But yeah, we would exchange pleasantries and greetings. And one day when I walked in, we're chit-chatting. And I hear keep talking to this man.
Starting point is 00:40:48 He has something important to say. Wow. Yeah. And it wasn't like a, you know, a voice, you know, from behind me or around me or even like a different voice in my head. It was like my, it felt like it wasn't my own thought. And at this particular time, excuse me, I was just kind of coming out of a challenging time in my life, kind of coming out of some postpartum depression and anxiety. And I had been doing a lot of, you know, self-reflection, self-help kind of stuff. And so I was really trying to lean into my intuition.
Starting point is 00:41:38 and, you know, personal power. So when I heard, keep talking to this man, he has something important to say, I thought, well, I better listen. So I, you know, every time I come in, we exchange pleasantries and, you know, chit chat. I started asking him questions about his family, you know, where he grew up, where he worked, things like that. I asked him if he worked at, oh, he told me he worked at General Motors. And I said, oh, did you know my grandpa, Marv Robertson? He said no. But I thought, well, he has dementia, you know, this poor memory.
Starting point is 00:42:25 So we moved on. And he indicated to me that he couldn't remember his address or his birthday, something like that. and that it was upsetting to him. So I said, well, can you show me your room? Because I imagine there's something in there that has your birthday or your name on it. He said, sure. So he guides me to his room. And when I walk in his room on the wall to his, on the wall to my right is a framed cartoon that my grandpa
Starting point is 00:43:06 had drawn him in 19 there it is yeah and and and the guy on the bicycle there that's my grandpa so he drew himself into the cartoon like Alfred hitchcock kind of thing yeah yeah he yeah he always put like little easter eggs in his cartoons you know um and yeah so incredible he had drawn this I believe it says 1989. And it was hanging on this man's wall in, I think, 2019. And what's interesting, so he signed it Robbie Robertson. Because the GM plant, nobody called him Marr. They all called him Robbie.
Starting point is 00:43:55 Oh, wow. Okay, gotcha. I was thinking of a guy, the lead singer of the band, Robbie Robertson. No, no. But yeah, so that kind of makes sense too. Marv didn't ring a bell because they called him Robbie. But it blew my mind. You know, I had goosebumps from head to toe. I was absolutely elated.
Starting point is 00:44:19 I think the guy probably thought I was a little bonkers because I was, you know, flipping out over this cartoon on his wall. But yeah, I felt like it was grandpa who said, keep talking to this man, he has something important to say. And if I hadn't continued to talk to him, he wouldn't have led me to his room, and I wouldn't have had any idea that my grandpa's artwork was hanging on his wall. That is so neat. That is so neat. Yeah, I loved it. I loved it. I think it's awesome. And by the way, for you rock historians out there, I misspoke Robbie Robertson was not the lead singer for the band. He was a guitarist and songwriter and so forth. So I caught, after I said, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:45:01 that's not right. But anyway, that is so cool. It's like everything, in a way, that's kind of, I've heard people call it Godwink or things like that. And also maybe your grandfather kind of arranged for all this to happen. That's what it felt like, especially, you know, the feeling that you get when something like that occurs. You know, it was like this natural high and the goosebumps and the excitement. And I called my grandma and told her all about it. She wanted to go down to the assistant living in and check out this guy's room and see the picture for herself, which we can't do that, you know. Right, because of patient stuff.
Starting point is 00:45:48 But she was thrilled and my dad was thrilled. and yeah, I felt like a wave from him. Like, I'm still here, you know? And he was obviously exceptionally talented. What a great picture. I love that touch with him on the bike. I love these kind of stories. They're awesome.
Starting point is 00:46:07 Jennifer, thank you so much for joining us. I appreciate it. Thank you for being part of the campfire. You did have one other story, right? One little story, correct? Another way he said, hello. When my kids were really little, I had them draw some pictures for the grandparents who had passed on and leave them at the, we went to the cemetery, and I thought they could leave them there, their little notes, you know. And so we found my maternal grandparents right away, but my grandpa Marv, we were walking all over the cemetery, and I could not find his headspace.
Starting point is 00:46:48 stone. So after quite a bit of walking, I thought, well, we got to go. I got to get the kids down for a nap. I'll call my dad or grandma later and find out exactly where the headstone is. So I go home, get the kids down for a nap. I fall asleep with my son as well. And I had a dream that I was at my grandparents' lake house in the living room and the front door opens and my grandpa comes in waving saying I'm here
Starting point is 00:47:22 and I woke up very cool Jennifer thanks for sharing your stories today on the campfire and stay spooky thanks stay spooky well we have a dynamic duo tonight
Starting point is 00:47:37 two folks a couple and first up Kelly from New York, and we're going to also be speaking with her husband, Chuck, and I think that is just going to be awesome. And first of all, Kelly is going to tell us about their home. It's 100 or almost 140 years old. And, oh, by the way, and this is the part where the campfire comes in, it seems to be extremely haunted. Kelly, welcome to the show. Thank you for joining us. Tell us what happened. Thanks for having me, Jam. It's great to be on.
Starting point is 00:48:10 So my husband will make the joke that it stinks to him that I have some of these experiences now. And we've been in this house. We're in about a year now after we had a fire January 24th last year. I'm sorry. It's okay. It worked out for the better because we ended up getting a better place. But everything started out pretty normal. And just, you know, we moved in and got settled and everything after, you know, life flipped around.
Starting point is 00:48:40 And that's when things started getting a little odd. Like nothing too, like, felt threatened, but just very odd. And one of the first ones I can remember is when we installed our blink cameras for the front, there was one time we saw the movement and she was like, wait a minute, what's this? And I look out of the camera and I'm like, oh, my God, like this figure came out of nowhere. Like, it wasn't there and then it was. And it looked so much like a human figure.
Starting point is 00:49:09 and we actually ended up our neighbors to ask about it. We thought it was one of their kids. And they're like, no, our kids not there right now. So we're like, oh, my gosh. Like that just came out of absolutely nowhere on the screen. But that was like, well, what's that all about? Yeah. And that was one of my big of like, oh, who's our visitor, you know, and everything.
Starting point is 00:49:31 And so that was kind of cool in a way, but it was also kind of strange because that was something brand new to me. Sure. I've always been, like, and minded. But it's never been much of the pauses. You spoke to Chuck multiple times. Like he has more stories and probably more even after tonight that he's had quite a quite an armful where I've had like a tiny handful. So it's kind of cool to actually experience a little bit, I guess. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:49:59 Yeah. It's one of those things. I think it's interesting. We see a lot of couples who one couple is really into it. And the other person may not be into it. They may be a little into it. or they may be open to it. And it's interesting when the person who is not as into it,
Starting point is 00:50:13 when they have experiences, because it's like, oh, yeah, I see what you're talking about now. Were there any other experiences in the house that you'd like to tell us about? Yeah. So one of the ones that happened to me personally is like I had gone upstairs to lay down for a nap. And Chuck and our oldest team was downstairs. And it was weird. Like I was in one of those half away.
Starting point is 00:50:40 half dream like we were starting to come to but it still felt weird and then all of a sudden I felt this like dip in the bed and like almost someone sat on there or put a foot down or something and I looked up thinking maybe one of them came up to either wake me up or see how I was doing and nobody was there and I went down stairs like really confused and I went to them I was like was one if you just in the bedroom and like snuck away really quickly and they're like no what are you talking about so that was one that was really unusual like I could feel the complete like pressed down as if someone was putting there. Yeah, if you feel that the bed actually dips when you, and there's nobody else sitting
Starting point is 00:51:17 on it, that's kind of an interesting feeling. We've had people have come on and see, they actually have seen kind of the, for lack of a better term, butt print of something. That would be terrifying. It's like, whoa, you know, it's kind of like there's an indentation there where there shouldn't be an indentation. Yeah, the dip. Ooh, that is, that is a spooky.
Starting point is 00:51:36 I think it actually stayed there for, yeah, it stayed there for like a minute or so. too. And I was like, wait a minute. Like, am I dreaming or what? And I looked, I was like, no, that really felt like something just sat down next to me. So do you think whatever this, um, ghost is or ghosts, do you think they're benevolent? Do you think they're mallevalent? Or do you think they're neutral? Um, it appears to be neutral, at least from our perspective. Um, I haven't felt like anything crazy has just been odd. Like, there are times I'll walk around the house and whether I'm alone or Chuck will be the other part and I'll swear that he will call up my name and it'll sound exactly like his voice and I'll go over and I'm like, did you just call me? He's like,
Starting point is 00:52:19 no, I didn't say anything. That's happened multiple times here too. But I've never felt anything that felt like a negative force of any kind, which is good, I guess. That's true. That's true. I know that Chuck has a story here that actually revolves something that just happened recently at Christmas time. But do you have any last thoughts or anything else you want to share about this haunted house? I guess, you know, whatever's going on, visiting us or whatever, just, you know, human friendly. Like, we're accepting to it. Just, you know, don't try to throw things at us or something. But yeah, it's kind of cool to experience it because, so he'll tell me all these stories about the past.
Starting point is 00:53:09 And my child's even had like a sensitivity to stuff. And pardon me, it was like, man, like, in a sense, you almost feel a little left out because you're like, how cool would it be to experience something? And I've seen more of that in this house. So on that hand, I was like, cool, but also what is that? And it's just, you know, gives you a different perspective on things too. very good well kelly thank you for being a part of the show stay safe stay spooky thank you for joining us and now we're going to turn it over to chuck but thank you so much for being a part of the campfire tonight thanks and stay spooky and like magic chuck just appears how how does that happen that's very interesting chuck welcome to the show it was great to have kelly on and you're a great supporter very active in our virtual Campfire Group, so everybody check that out at Virtual Campfire Group.com.com.
Starting point is 00:54:03 And Chuck has a story about something that just recently happened, Christmas time. And, you know, Christmas time is a joyous time. It can be a difficult time, particularly when you've lost people. But I think, I'm pretty sure this is going to be a reaffirming
Starting point is 00:54:20 story from Chuck around this past Christmas. Chuck, welcome to the show. Thanks for all your support and tell us what happened. Thank you. I'll give it a little bit of backstory. Years ago, my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. It was a long, long battle. He was only supposed to last a couple of months, but thankfully, he lasted almost
Starting point is 00:54:46 seven and a half years. So it gave us some time to still have him around. During that time, he gave me his train set. it's from early 1950s, I believe, in late 40s, it was the last gift that his dad gave him when my dad was nine years old.
Starting point is 00:55:10 And then at that same year, his father died. So he wanted to keep it obviously in the family and passed it down to me about 10 years ago or so. So after my father passed away, in August of 2020, that year was the first year that I decided to put the train around our Christmas tree.
Starting point is 00:55:36 And it's been going up around a Christmas tree every year since. And then last year, as my wife said, we had a pretty bad fire to our whole apartment complex building where 24 families, including ours, was displaced. Oh, man. I'm so sorry that happened to you and to all those families. Yeah, it was, you know, I'm a first responder. So seeing it all the time, you know, it doesn't really affect you until, I mean, it affects you, but it doesn't affect you in the way that it would as a victim or on the other hand until it actually happens to you. So, but this year was, this past year was our first Christmas in our house. and we kind of got a little bit of lazy and everything,
Starting point is 00:56:30 so we didn't put our tree up until Christmas Eve. So we went ahead, put the tree up. Thankfully, I was able to salvage my father's train from the fire, so I decided to put it up around our tree. But to go back to the fire for a moment, when the fire happened, we only were given very, very little time to gather up what we could, salvage out of the fire.
Starting point is 00:56:57 And I think we had like literally six or seven hours to gather as much as we could that was left. And then I always had this pendant that I wore. It was a guitar because I'm a musician as well. And inside that guitar was my, a little bit of my father's ashes. I have his burn as well. But I always had this on me to always have my father with me at all time. sure and I grabbed that pendant off the hook that I had and stuck it in my coat pocket because we were in a rush and I know it would be safe there when we finally left that day and we were kind of gathering through our stuff I went to grab the pendant out of my pocket it was not there I looked everywhere through everything that we could and did salvage and I could not find it anywhere. And it was heartbreaking because it's like I physically lost a piece of my dad. And I felt so
Starting point is 00:58:04 bad about it. I felt terrible about it. And at this guilt for the past year where I'm losing him. Um, so fast forward to Christmas Eve this past Christmas Eve, um, as I was getting my dad's train out of the box, but around the tree. I saw something shiny at the bottom of the box. And I'm like, there should be nothing in this box except for my dad's train. As I got to the bottom, but believe it or not was my pendant that has my dad's ashes in it. And that to me was a sign that he was around, a sign that I've been waiting for five years. And I grabbed it out.
Starting point is 00:58:59 I have it here. This is my that I was talking about. Aww. So that was my confirmation that my father was around. And for it to be in specifically in the box with his train
Starting point is 00:59:19 that meant so much to him was the best Christmas gift that I received in a long, long time. And it's funny because I always say I don't really believe of miracles, but that was my Christmas miracle.
Starting point is 00:59:34 Wow. Wow. Thank you for sharing that. That's really very touching. And it's one of those things where they, I think they show up in ways that are very important to us, and that obviously for obvious reasons was very important to you. Now, I think they can actually manipulate things. I think they can move things. It reminds me a little bit of the Jot stories that we talk about. I think we've had people who have been guided to various things that they thought were lost or important documents or whatever it can be. But this really in many ways I think is more important than a document. This was really something, the most personal thing you can have. And I'm glad that that happened for you.
Starting point is 01:00:19 It sounds like that was probably one of the great Christmas gifts of 2025 for sure. Definitely was. Chuck, thank you. Thank Kelly. We appreciate both of you and thank you for being on the show. And, of course, stay spooky. Thank you, Jamie. You stay spooky as well.
Starting point is 01:00:40 Next up on the campfire is Tammy from Canada. And we're so glad to have her here. And really, really appreciate very much. And she's going to talk to us about signs, specifically signs of five. Tammy, welcome to the show. us what happened. Oh, thank you for having me. So it's about my mom. And in 2022, she passed fairly suddenly. She was ill for the week. And then she passed a sudden. So, oh, I'm sorry.
Starting point is 01:01:13 Oh, thank you. Thank you. So my dad called me, oh, I'd say the middle of the night. And we, I saw I had to drive about, I don't know, 45 minutes to get to the hospital she was at. And on my way there, I remember looking, you know, when you're driving in the dark and then all of a sudden you get to near a city and there's all the lights? You can see like the shadow of the lights in the sky. Well, all of a sudden there was a cloud there that was like almost looked like somebody praying. It was a religious sign. And I wished God I had stopped and taken a picture. But I thought, oh, well, maybe it's just in my head.
Starting point is 01:01:53 I'm tired. I'm stressed. So I got to the hospital and hours later my mom did pass. So the next day when we woke up, it was cold here. Like I live northern Ontario. And when I say cold, I'm talking minus 30 minus 35. Sure. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:02:13 So it was cold that day she passed and it was cold the next morning. So when I went out and I started my car and I said, okay, I'm going to go to my dad's for a while because he's very upset. I had went in about 20 minutes later and my car was still freezing. And I thought, well, that's weird. I thought, okay, I'm going anyway. So I drove about 15 minutes and I got at a stop sign. I thought, how come my car is not heating up? And I looked down at my dash and my heat is on low. So in order for your heat to get on low, you need, it's not a dial, it's a button. I had, you would have to push that button about 15 times. And it's never happened before. And I remember saying out loud, bum, if this is you, it's a mean joke, because it is really cold out here. So I turned out my heat
Starting point is 01:03:07 and off I went. So the next day I get in my car. And my car, my, my clock has gone back five hours. Like, oh, that's weird. So change my clock back. And, did my thing. And then again, a couple days later, clock's gone back five hours. And what I forgot to mention was that the day my mom passed was on a day that was a five-year anniversary of a car accident that we had, my family. And it was pretty significant in our life. Like, we're all alive, we're all okay. But it was life-changing for many reasons. So I started to do. I started to think, well, that's weird. Like, it's, it's in fives. Okay, so five year, whatever. So then one day I was driving and it's not a serious satellite radio. You have to program in what stations.
Starting point is 01:04:06 You have to run. All of a sudden, it flipped onto the 50 station. I don't, I didn't even have that programmed. And you ever get a sense that something's telling you to listen to something? Absolutely. So I had that feeling. And then. I listened to the words and the words, it was some old gifty song. And can I just read a quick lyric from it? So it said, it was an old song. It was called A Walk Alone or Please Walk Alone. And the lyrics that stood out as soon as I started to listen was,
Starting point is 01:04:43 please walk alone, but send your love and your kisses to guide me. Till you're walking beside me, I'll walk alone. So I thought, oh, like, so she, I just felt like that was a sign about till we're together again. Right. So a few times after that, my clock went back five hours. It was always, and my car had never did that before. And one time we were driving, and my husband was driving, and I was in the front seat of the car. And my other son was in the back on the other side.
Starting point is 01:05:20 the window behind me just went down all by itself. Huh. It just went down. And let's just say some people in my family are skeptics. And there were so many weird things going on in my car. And I felt like she was in my car because of my car accident. And she died on the five-year anniversary of my car accident. So my husband's like, okay, we need to take this car to the garage.
Starting point is 01:05:44 We have to get it checked. And I'm chuckling because I'm like, why? I think that somebody's visiting. me and keeping us safe in the car. There you go. There you go. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:05:55 So the last time that, and actually with the heat thing, it even started in my daughter's car. So I felt like she was with her too. And the last time it happened was about a year and a half that she, after she passed, it was a mother's day. And I went into a nursery. And I found, bumped into one of my mom's friends. And we started talking about my mom.
Starting point is 01:06:24 And I'm like, yeah, you know, I miss her, but I'm going to buy her a plant. And we had talked a little bit. And I said, okay, so I bought her a little plant. I got it in the car and my son was driving. We started to drive home. And this hadn't happened in months. And my son said, look at the clock. The clock was back five hours.
Starting point is 01:06:41 On Mother's Day. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. Yeah, so there was like, so the signs of fives to me were the 50s, the 50s channel, the clock going back five hours. I just felt like it was a little significant sign. Right. For that.
Starting point is 01:07:01 So I, like, it, I don't know. To me, it was just too much of a coincidence to be coincidence. To be coincidence. There you go. Yeah. Yeah. That's a lot of fives. Well, I think that's nice.
Starting point is 01:07:13 And I think that I repeat myself because I've said this many times, but I do believe our loved ones from the other side can lock into something that's meaningful to us and, you know, get at home. We had one recently of hummingbirds. Oh, yes. And birds were assigned. I mean, I think that there's certain things they can key into that are meaningful to you. And then they kind of hammer at home. And I think that is so cool.
Starting point is 01:07:40 Tammy, thank you so much for sharing your story with us. and being part of the campfire. Stay spooky. Oh, yeah, stay spooky. Thank you. Kelly's on the line from Tennessee. We're so glad to speak with her today. She's been listening for several years now. We appreciate it. And she wants to tell us about some signs in the person who delivered them to her. Kelly, welcome to the show and tell us what happened. So when I was 10 years old, my dad passed away, and it's always been, you know,
Starting point is 01:08:13 You know, something, I think about him every day, you know. I'm sorry. Thank you. And I've always, you know, wished for signs. I've never gotten any until recently. And I've experienced plenty of paranormal things, but just, you know, never got that sign that I was really hoping for. And I have a friend, and I've talked to her about it. And she was telling me about one of her friends that she grew up with pretty much and being really gifted.
Starting point is 01:08:49 And she put me in contact with her. And we talked for probably an hour. And I got confirmation from not just my dad, but from other people as well. but his was the one that was with like the physical proof. She had started to ask me about why she said she could see a white truck driving down like an interstate. And my dad, when I was younger, he was a truck driver and he had a white truck. And so I instantly knew. And, you know, she couldn't have known that.
Starting point is 01:09:34 my other friend, you know, that knows her. She didn't even know anything like that. And I did tell her, I said, well, you know, that would be my dad. Mm-hmm. And so that was, you know, it was strange, you know, because to actually be experiencing something like that first-hand, you know. But she started to ask me some other questions. and asking about somewhere he could possibly live before. And, you know, I wasn't sure.
Starting point is 01:10:12 I said, well, I'd have to ask my mom something like that. But then she started saying, 43. She said, why am I saying I'm 43? Did he die when he was 43? No. She said, 43 STP. She said like a race car. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:33 Well, I didn't. I'm not a follower, but, and so, you know, she said race car. I don't think my dad was into NASCAR or anything. And she said her, it's maybe even a Hot Wheels car. And as soon as she said Hot Wheels, something clicked, I was like, let me go check something. And if it's okay, I'm going to take you to a different room. Sure. Sure.
Starting point is 01:10:58 So, because this is, I just kind of letting it happen, like, how it happened on the phone that day. As soon as she said that, I walked in here to my living. room where I have like a curio cabinet and I'll show you this what I had in there. Richard Petty. 43 STP. And there was no way that, you know, what are the odds that she's visualizing that. And so to me I felt like that was him giving her like a way for me to actually come and see something that I could touch, you know, that...
Starting point is 01:11:40 And that was his? That was his? It was not his, but... So it was actually my husband's when he was a little boy. The only thing that I could feel, I felt like it was him. Right. Like, I see this right now and nobody else is, you know, she's not going to know it's there. And the only reason that I even have that car is strange too, because I'd let these people come several months ago. And they, it's like for a hobby, do metal detection and stuff. And if they find anything old and cool, you know, you keep it, but they just do it as a hobby. And so we have about 20 acres here.
Starting point is 01:12:26 And I let them come. And they didn't really find anything of value, but they found that. little Hot Wheels car. And so I'm like, what it took for me to even have that specific car with that number. Cool. You know. So, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:12:45 As soon as you said 43 STP, I'm like, and I'm not a huge race car fan, but Richard Petty, you know, probably the most famous NASCAR driver of all time. I mean, I guess maybe now it's somebody else. But I mean, Richard Petty was the kid. Well, they called him the king. Yeah. Very cool. Very cool. interesting validation. And again, I think that our loved ones, they get those signs across,
Starting point is 01:13:08 they figure out a way in, they figure out how to get those signs. Sounds like that happened to you. Mm-hmm. So very good. Well, Kelly, thank you so much for joining us and sharing your story on the campfire and stay spooky. Thanks, Jim. You said this place was steps from the water. We just haven't found the steps yet. Time is on the line again, and she's going to tell us about just such a case going back, I think, to 2007. Time, welcome back to the show. Tell us what happened. Hi, hello. Thank you so much for having me.
Starting point is 01:14:46 All right. So, this story goes back. Way back in 2004 when my then-husband and now husband and I have purchased our new home. Oh, I'm going back. I know. This whole thing took place in 2007, but I'm going to go back before, Because in this new house, there had been stuff always going on all the way from something squeaking my dog's toy that I could never squeak. So always something going on in this house. And I just wanted to highlight that because in the end, it all goes away. So that had been leading up to 2007. I remember I was having a nightmare and I know that I was dreaming.
Starting point is 01:15:23 It was so scary. It was in my nightmare. All of a sudden there's like this black. Dementor thing just like flying above my head. It brought fear, anxiety. It was totally scary. I knew that something wasn't right. It was almost like, what is this thing flying around over my head? I knew I was dreaming. It was a nightmare. So when I finally woke up, I was so relieved to think like, oh, that was just a nightmare. Oh my gosh, I was so happy to be awake and just so happy. So I remember getting up and using the restroom and getting some water and laying back down and just thinking, oh, man,
Starting point is 01:16:06 that dream was terrible. I'm just so relieved that it was just a dream. So I'm laying there and about 15 minutes later, I'm trying to get to sleep. I'm just laying there with my eyes closed and all of a sudden, you know that feeling of something is in my house? What is that feeling? It's a feeling of anxiety, just like a gut feeling. oh my god something's in my house and this doesn't feel right well just then i just i had a feeling
Starting point is 01:16:40 there was that black thing was in my house but it was out in the living room flying up around the ceiling and i just thought no way there's no way there's no way that was a nightmare that was a dream it's it's not true that there's no way this thing could be real so i'm laying there and i'm looking up at the ceiling and I see the same thing. It looks like a dementor. That's the only thing I can use to describe. Yeah, it was whipping around the ceiling. It flew from the hallway into my bedroom, going around with a ceiling plan, and it was just whipping around. And I'm looking at it. I'm going, no way, this can't be real. No way. It was just in my dream. There's no way it could be here. I had two dogs at the time. They were on their beds. They were so quiet. They didn't bark or growl or
Starting point is 01:17:30 anything. All of a sudden, they bolted out from their beds all the way out into the living room. They were quiet about it. I've never heard them be so quiet. I've never known dogs to be like that. Usually they'll growl. But those two ran away. I was so scared that I kind of hit under my sheets a little bit, like a little kid. And I kind of curled up to my husband, like, because I just needed to like, oh, I was so scared. I just like kind of hid and hit. And. underneath him and and instead of him waking up or to comfort me he kind of scoots away to the edge of the bed and I was like wait a second no no no hey dude I know like what are you doing that was just not like him to do that so I scoot over to him again and I'm like cuddled and he's on
Starting point is 01:18:20 the edge of the bed now we're both on the edge of the bed so instead of him waking up to see what's going on I didn't mean to wake him up I was just so so terrified Sure. He gets up out of bed and he stands up and he walks around the room straight out. And I'm just standing there or laying in bed. I'm not standing. I'm laying there looking at him going, what is he doing? What I've never seen him act like this before? He walked all the way down the hallway to the rest of our bedrooms. It was really dark. I listened quietly. I thought maybe he was using. the restroom, no sound of any kind. He had been gone for a good five minutes. I'm still terrified. Now I'm thinking, okay, I'm all by myself. My dogs have loved. My husband's left. What am I going to do? And just then the sun comes up and fills the room with light. And I was so relieved because the thing was gone. The thing was gone. And I was so happy. And then my husband comes. back into the room and just comes back to bed and I didn't know what to say to him. I was in shock myself. So I get up for work. I sage the room. My husband's still sleeping. He woke up and got super
Starting point is 01:19:45 mad at me. What are you doing? Because I was saging the room. I've never seen him be so mad. I'm like, oh, babe, I don't have time to explain this. I have to go to work. I'll tell you when I get home. So I go to work and people are looking at me, my coworkers, like, man, you look really tired. I'm like, yeah, I had a long night. One of them said, you look like you saw a ghost. And I'm like, yeah, that's exactly what happened. I know. Yeah, she knew right away. She knew. So two days later, I'm coming home from work and I'm driving and I turn the corner and I see a street that is like adjacent to ours. It's like the same street, but a row of houses in between. And it's all roped off with caution tape. And there's cops everywhere. And I'm thinking, what the heck happened?
Starting point is 01:20:40 That's not good. You know, caution tape, you can't even drive down the street. So I, right. So I pull into my driveway and I asked my husband, I said, hey, there's caution tape everywhere in cops. He's like, yeah, I know. And then the next day, we get a flyer on our door asking from to Texas, if you know anything about the shooting that occurred at this address, please give us a call. And the address was 9-89-something. And my address, my personal address, was 9-89-something. And I thought, gosh, that is it directly in line with my house. I mean, you could see. Yeah, it was, you could totally see. Yeah, just different streets. Yeah. Yeah, just a different street. Very, very, very. Yeah, very close. And I thought, that's really terrifying. And come to find out, there was a, there was a shooting there was a gentleman who has shot in his garage when he went outside to go get a drink and had died a few days later in a hospital in L.A. And that was terrifying. I have never been so close to anything like that and still haven't. And I hope that that doesn't happen. But there has been.
Starting point is 01:21:52 no other, I believe it's a cold case. I mean, I've tried to research this and I can't find anything on it. So do you think there was a connection, like a negative energy or something like that? I truly do. Because after that shooting happened, nothing ever happened in that house ever again. Everything went away. And I knew right then and there that that terrible black thing was so awful, so scary. I believe it was floating around in the neighborhood and something bad was some bad energy was in our neighborhood that entire time until the shooting death occurred and then it went away, which is really sad.
Starting point is 01:22:32 I mean, no one had, yeah. Yeah, no, no, that is extremely sad. I was going to say people think of a haunted house, but I guess you could have a haunted neighborhood. That makes sense. Yeah, I think so too. I think maybe possibly I just picked up on something unknowingly I didn't know that I was that clairvoyant at the time but I now know but I really do believe
Starting point is 01:22:56 that they were connected because this thing was it was awful it was just like floating around in the neighborhood and shouldn't have been there it was like something some something bad was going to happen so that's what I think well time thank you for sharing this it is interesting and we've talked before you have very vivid dreams and seem to be tapping into something when you're in that dream state, and this is yet another example. Thank you so much for joining us. I appreciate it very much. Oh, thank you so much. Barbara is on the line from Arizona, and we're so glad to have her with us today. And, you know, we like to collect different things. Some people like to collect rocks. I actually have some stones here on my desk, you know, kind of cool stuff.
Starting point is 01:23:44 Yeah, and here's another one. Here's another one. And anyway, the point is, is that, you know, rocks can be kind of cool to collect. And I think Barbara does some rock collecting. And she had an interesting experience. And she's going to tell us about Barbara. Welcome to the show. Tell us what happened.
Starting point is 01:24:03 Well, let me first say, Jim, I've been a nurse for 50 years. Thank you. Well, thank you. I helped a lot of patients when they're dying. But never thought much about what happens after. But anyway, I moved from Utah to Arizona. And then my family thought it would be fun to take me around and show me some places. And one of the places we first visited,
Starting point is 01:24:48 was the tombstone graveyard. And most of the graves are from like the 1800s. Sure. And they're all pretty interesting to walk around and look at. And as you said, I'm kind of a collector of stones. So walking around, I saw an interesting stone, and I thought I would take a... a souvenir.
Starting point is 01:25:26 And I put it in my car and sort of forgot about it. And sometime later, I went with a friend and we visited the Tonapaw Cemetery. And that's where the clown motel is, if you're familiar. Yeah, Zach and his crew went there and built an episode. And in the office, they have just billions of clowns. And after we got done looking at those and visiting with the guy that was running the office, they have the old Tonapaw cemetery next door. So we thought we'd walk around in that cemetery.
Starting point is 01:26:21 and I was looking at one grave, and now that I look back, I was using my ghost meter, and there was a spirit around that grave. And as I walked away, the spirits seemed to be following me. So I talked to them and said, they couldn't follow me,
Starting point is 01:26:49 they couldn't come, out of the cemetery, this is where they belong. And didn't think much about it. And took that stone and put it in my car again. So when I got home, I thought, why don't I make a little stone garden with stones from visiting all the cemeteries? and I had a little condo
Starting point is 01:27:27 and outside my sliding door was a little plot of ground so I put the stone towel there and I used to be a fan of all the ghost shows and I'm a night owl so late at night I would watch the ghost shows and
Starting point is 01:27:51 and they didn't box me, you know, I just went to bed like nothing. But this one night, shortly after bringing the stones home, I was watching the show. And all of a sudden, door on this curio slammed open. Whoa. It was, it slapsed so hard. I thought that the handle would put a hole in the wall. and dishes started flying out
Starting point is 01:28:29 this curio was my mother-in-laws and when she passed family let me have it and these dishes are delved and those are like traditional dishes from Holland where my mother-in-law was from and I was upset
Starting point is 01:28:54 because some of the couldn't be replaced. And they were like, they were hers. Some of them were hers. And so I took my ghost meter over to the cabinet, and it was covered with orbs. And after things settled down and I cleaned it up, several pieces were broken.
Starting point is 01:29:21 And I could show you those pieces. if we have a minute. And they can't be fixed, but I didn't want to get rid of them because they have sentimental value. Right. And so probably a week or so later, once again, I'm watching a ghost show late at night, and I see something out of the corner of my eye.
Starting point is 01:29:57 So to my right, is the sliding door outside, and there were where the stones were. And what it was was one of those glass bulbs, watering bulbs for the plant. And I saw it rise up out of the plant and drop to the floor. Oh, my. Yeah. So it levitated kind of, right? Yeah, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 01:30:33 And fortunately, there was a rub there, so it didn't break. And that surprised me because the neck of those are very delicate. So by now, I was starting to get mad. I wasn't scared. I was just mad. So I kind of threatened the spirit. And I said, you know, this is enough. or I'm going to sage you right out of here. And about a week or so later, my sister and brother-in-law came for a visit.
Starting point is 01:31:14 And I told them the story, you know, kind of freaked him out. But we were going to go up the road and visit a citizen cemetery. So you have to live here like 50 years before you can be buried in this cemetery. So very old folks in there. So I thought, I'll bet bringing these stones home was not a good idea. So I took the stones when we went to the cemetery and Big Nose Kate is buried in the cemetery. and she was a Doc Holliday's girlfriend.
Starting point is 01:32:07 You have heard of her, yes. Yeah, yeah. And so we walked around and we found her gravestone and kind of read it and then I said to my family, I need a minute. And so I took the stones
Starting point is 01:32:27 and I set them on the on the gravestone and I apologize and you know I said I was very ignorant to do what I did
Starting point is 01:32:41 and I'm really sorry I apologize and I left them and so maybe a week or so later I was watching the ghost story late at night again
Starting point is 01:32:58 was my habit and suddenly I got a feeling that something was behind me. Oh, boy. And I felt it coming closer and closer, and I kind of got freaked out, so I sort of sat real still, closed my eyes, and I felt a very gentle rub across my sheet.
Starting point is 01:33:34 Oh, wow. And then they were gone. So do you feel that was closure? I mean, you had gone, you had put the rocks at the cemetery, you apologized. Do you feel that that visit there was closure saying, we acknowledge your apology, and we're all good? Yes, exactly. Pretty cool. And it wasn't scary.
Starting point is 01:34:05 It was just that closure. Yeah, we accept your ecology and we're good now. Sounds good. Well, Barbara, I appreciate the story, and I guess the moral of the stories, if you go to a graveyard and you see some innocent looking stones there, leave them be. Leave them be. Leave everything there. Yes, and the spirits too.
Starting point is 01:34:34 I knew that you don't take anything off the headstone. Right, of course. Yeah, but things were just on the ground. Yeah, which would seem to be perfectly innocent, but I see that, you know, in this case, they didn't care for it too much of the spirits. Well, Barbara, thank you for being on the campfire and stay spooky. Stay spooky. Thanks for joining us on yet another great edition of the campfire.
