Hello everybody.
You are listening to Going for Goal, the weekly women's health podcast.
My name's Rochene Devershoyne.
I'm senior editor on women's health.
And this is your weekly chance to plug in and be inspired to work on your health
and wellness. Now, you know that at women's health, we love our peer-reviewed studies and our world-renowned
professors that we take our job as communicators of health and science very seriously. But we thought that,
given the news of late, has been so focused on the sharpest edge of health and health care,
and don't worry, that's the only mention of the pandemic in today's show. We thought we would go
right to the other end of the spectrum, with a conversation that is properly an unashamedly.
mood-woo wellness.
In today's episode, you've got Claudia Canavan,
Women's Health's Digital Beauty and Health Editor,
chatting to musician and West End performer Louise Rednapp,
along with her crystal healer, Emma Lucy Knowles.
They discuss how Louise got into crystals
and, crucially, how she harnesses them
to help her really go for her goals.
And, sure, while carrying crystals around in your bag, or bra,
doesn't come with the backing
of eminent academics, growing numbers of people are finding comfort in tapping into this stuff.
And right now, I think finding comfort is a valid goal in and of itself.
So, from knowing which crystal might work for you and how to buy ethically, to shaking off your
aversions around the esoteric and opening up a bit, these three discuss the things that anyone
who's curious about incorporating crystal healing into their health and wellness routine needs
to know.
Enjoy.
Louise Radnaf and Emma Lucy Knowles, I am so excited to speak to you both about the wonderful world of crystal healing today. Welcome to the podcast.
Yay. Thanks for having us. Yes. Louise, as I understand it, you've been receiving crystal healing from Emma for a little while now. Could you just talk a bit about that? Like what happened in your first sessions, who introduced you, what brought you together?
Well, we're friends and I'm friends with Em and her family, her sister.
So it's always a nice place to start.
I'm not somebody that has really ever had any experience with crystals or healing or anything like that.
So I was fortunate enough to have a friendship that then made me for confident.
I'm kind of like, okay, I'll give this a go.
I had no expectations, nothing.
And I think without knowing about it, I know for me,
I just thought they were just pretty pieces of stone.
And it was a certain group of people that felt they had meaning or something.
But I'm quite an open person in life.
And I do like to look beyond, you know, like where my mind closes off.
I like to open up and go, okay, what is this about?
And I think it's, there are crystals for different things.
And like she said, not every crystal suits everybody.
But I know that when she often buys me a crystal
or gives me a crystal, which I'm very fortunate that she does,
you do feel a sense of togetherness or understanding
of what this piece of something is that you've been given.
And it's a nice feeling.
Like we do some really lovely things.
And I am lucky we get to hang out.
And I get to hang out with somebody that's passionate about crystals.
So you learn and you pick up.
But actually, I think it's a really, for me, it was all about being positive and finding positivity.
I remember a really tough time was I was opening up in the West End.
It was like my first West End debut.
We both know that people are very quick on judging you publicly.
You know, for me, it was a huge thing.
I really didn't just feel that I could go out there and not be the best version of what I can be.
It's my first time on a West End stage.
And she said to me, okay, like, I just need you to trust me now.
I'm going to come down and I'm going to bring you some crystals and some spray.
She said, all I want you to feel is calm before you go on stage.
I want these crystals to give you calmness.
There's no doubt that you don't have the ability to go on there and be brilliant.
But I don't want you going out there when you let your psyche tell you're not good enough.
So I think my first real powerful moment was when she just put these crystals all around my little wooden kind of weird dressing room at the Savoy and just said, like, believe that we've just created a really good positive light energy in this room.
And I want you to enjoy this.
You know, you are about to go and smash the West End stage for the first time in your life.
Do not be engulfed with worry and panic of people's opinions.
And I think for me, that was like the most powerful.
awful moment because I did go out there and have a great show. And I think after that, no one
was allowed to touch the crystals. If the cleaners come in, there was notes on the dressing on my
mirror saying, please don't touch the crystals. So yeah, so I think when you have a positive experience
like that, like obviously M knew what crystals she was putting around. And I actually did go out
onto that stage that night, really relaxed and really feeling happy and fortunate that I had the
opportunity to do so and enjoyed it rather than be so stressed that it just become an experience
that I didn't want to remember. So Emma, I would love to start with asking you what crystal
healing is, what are crystals, where do they come from, and how do you understand them to work?
Okay, yeah, okay, so I would say, okay, okay, because there's so much information about it,
so I've always tried to strip it back as easy as I can. Cristles are naturally occurring minerals
formed under years and years, years of pressure like we are.
And they give off a vibration and a frequency,
just like we do as human beings that kind of mirror us very beautifully.
So each crystal has its own sweet vibration,
and it can help us tap into a different vibe and a different mood.
But when we work with crystals in kind of a healing capacity,
we work with the crystals to kind of bring that energy into our being
so we can harness it.
So quite often we come into crystals, we feel like we're without,
or we've experienced some lack or heartbreak.
And what's happening is, like, universal energy is moving through the body all time.
And the crystals then become like a lens.
So we're applying a lens or a filter of a particular quality, be that confidence or love.
We're placing it on the body.
We're allowing the universal energy to flow through that filter and change that frequency within our body.
So, but at the same time, we're moving from the body anything that stops as being those qualities.
So anything that stops us feeling confident or stops as feeling loving.
So that's sometimes where crystal healing isn't always like light and things.
fluffy. I think they've made crystals like Mother Earthen a great job making them look absolutely
beautiful so that we feel confident with them. But it's double-handed. It's really beautiful and
uplifting at the same time. It does a lot of deep, deep work. And Emma, as I understand it,
you've been working with crystals since you were pretty young and obviously you're now very
prominent in your field. You wrote a book on crystal healing and you've just released another book,
which is you are a rainbow, essential oras. Could you walk us through the moment you
you discovered crystals and your journey.
Yeah, absolutely.
I mean, it's been a long one.
Like, I've had a very full 36 years of life,
but I kind of found crystals at about seven.
And I kind of remember my sister and I,
we lived in this really cute little village,
but it was this little shop.
And we used to go in there and buy sweets,
and Becky would very much kind of save her money to buy the sweets.
And I'd be going in there, like,
looking for what my mom and dad would call out the bric-a-brac and be that.
So I'd be like picking up and gathering crystals.
And even then I was like, I would make jewelry out of these.
My mom's like, don't be ridiculous.
and like 25 years later, like I'm making jewelry out of them.
But probably for me,
I had quite kind of a wild awakening into my spirituality,
and do all the healing stuff,
but that kind of really found me quite bumply at about 11.
And I won't go into kind of the ins and hours of that
because we'd be here for too long.
But ultimately, the crystals came into my life at a time
where I felt very low and very, like I'd shut myself off.
And then they gave me this kind of like a protective shield
so I can sit and go, what am I feeling, why am I feeling?
And to kind of have those thoughts and those feelings at 11-year-old,
that's quite kind of a difficult landscape to navigate.
But the crystals gave me a really safe space to kind of understand
that I was experiencing things that at that stage were probably bigger than me,
and I was tapping into other people at a very different rate.
And that was really unnerving, and it could have kind of probably driven me wild,
but the energy in the crystals really helped me harness that into a safe,
into a safe way. And how do crystals help you now today this year? Like how do they perform some kind of
function in your life right now? Yeah, I mean, they're like friends. That's how I'd always like
like to people, like they're like a friend. So each crystal's got quality and it works so differently
for each person. So for me, it's now about teaching people how to use them, but also kind of
teaching people that no two person kind of works the same or even twins. And we're not the same
person one day after the next. So knowing that like just because you interact with one crystal
in the same way, it's kind of keeping an open mind knowing that I'm going to interact with
them differently on different days depending on my mood. So I'm forever changing. It's not like I've got
all this stuff nailed. It's like it actually goes, you know, this is how am I feeling today.
And sometimes I can like pick a crystal intuitively. And that gives me more insight to how I'm feeling
rather than how my brain wants me to allow. So they have a huge part in my day even now. It's like
taking a friend with you through your life.
And sometimes you are going to get it wrong.
And the crystal can't necessarily eradicate thought in your mind,
but it can help you change the way in which you look at things
or kind of help you with belief systems that have become stuck.
And then there's sometimes when you will just have the most trippy experience with them.
And there is all that.
There is that side of it.
So, but there's no one size fits all.
There's no one size of it's all.
And equally, how I experience them is going to be very different.
How Lou experiences them, how you experience them.
So I used to get a lot of people saying,
well, my friend bought me this piece of rose quartz to find a point.
boyfriend and I'm not falling in love yet. I don't know where that voice came from.
That's that one. And I was like, well, do you know what? Like how they experienced love is very
different to you. So we've got to find a crystal that resonates love for you. And that means
like breaking down how we pick the crystals, how we interact them. And that's really what the book
was about. It's not kind of going, here's three steps and that's it. You're done. There's a lot
more to it than that. And it's fun. And Louise, do you use them regularly now? Like, would you
carry one around with you, anything like that? Yeah, I often have one in my bag. And M actually
gives them to my kids as well, take them in their school bag. It's like, this is really positive
for school and they call it, they say they're happy stone. Yeah, and again, I'm really lucky.
We're friends. I often get given a crystal as a little present and she'll be like,
this was all charged, ready to go. And yeah, I'd say nine times out of ten I have crystal in my handbag.
or in my bra.
She put them in her bra
so I just called me, put them in mind.
I don't know if that's because it's near the heart.
Yeah, it's near the heart.
It's sort of like they love being on the skin
because I were talking earlier like the energy's moving through the body.
So like you just get more,
I start having a comfort blanket.
So I get why some people always like,
oh, is it the placebo effect?
You feel it or whatever.
But actually when you've got them in your hand
and they're kind of pulsing back at you
and they're kind of giving life to you
or kind of you're connecting with them on that level.
It's such a special thing.
So to have it kind of in your bra,
it's like, and you can feel it.
It's not just like a wait.
It's just that kind of constant reminder in the day
that it's kind of like, you've got this and we've got you.
One of the nicest things M does with us as a group of friends
is she'll sometimes put crystals on a table
and we can all just go pick one up.
She'll be like, oh, just go and grab a crystal.
And literally every time someone grabs a crystal,
it's something really relevant, the crystal,
like whatever crystal is is quite relevant to maybe a time in your life,
whatever that may be,
as to why you've been drawn to a certain crystal,
and it never fails.
And that's not just me.
It's like all of our friendship circle.
We all just grabbing someone and be like,
oh, Em, what's this one?
And she goes, oh, that's for whatever.
You know, that's for business.
That's for success.
And it'll always actually be in line to me that person's week or month
has been sort of like throwing back at them.
And I think that's the beauty of it because it's like it's not just a one-way street.
I mean, you can get really prescripts.
I'm like, I need this, I need this, I need this.
And sometimes you just don't know what you need.
So actually like letting them pick you kind of like two-way streets really important
because you're both kind of sending off that signal.
So when you do pick, it also really gives you some confidence in your own psyche and your intuition.
Actually, I am making really good decisions for myself.
I pick that.
I don't need somebody else to do it for me.
I think there's something really empowering about that.
And Louise, when you have your crystal, you know, in your bra,
in your bag. Do you have like a favorite or a couple of favorites?
Sometimes I just pick up whatever one I see on the way out.
Like I don't have hundreds around the house or anything.
I normally keep them beside my bed for some reason.
I feel like that's my most personal space in the house.
I've got three dogs, two kids, always a house school.
And I suppose that's the one little room that's my sort of solace room.
So they're normally just beside my bed.
So I feel that they're there.
And I do try and put them outside sometimes.
because I know you're meant to let the moon get on them.
So, yeah, I tend to just sort of pick one up.
I think when I'm carrying it around on me,
I like the small little smooth ones
because I get a little bit kind of addicted to holding it in my hand
because it feels nice.
It's just, you know, takes me back to my days of collecting pebbles on the beach and stuff.
That's feeling in my hand, you know,
and your grandparents take you down
and you'd be obsessed with a shiny pebble when you take it home with you.
And then when you finally lost it,
it, which never took that long when you're like eight,
you was really upset.
You lost a shiny pebble.
So I normally, if I'm going to hold one, I normally take that around.
But I mean, this is really new to me.
I'm not somebody that grew up or, I mean, I'm in my 40s now.
It's a new thing.
And I'm amazed, actually, when I first started talking about crystals with M,
I kind of thought, okay, this is a bit weird or maybe won't mention this to anybody.
but actually I very rarely talk to somebody that hasn't got some interest in what crystals bring
or some interest in being open to being spiritual and to healing and to crystals.
I think it's okay.
I don't think many people want to admit it,
but I think it's really important that if it helps you,
it's okay to admit that you look for something,
whether it be for confidence, for love, like M said,
for success, for wanting to achieve, to do well at your work.
And not needing to be a pro.
Yeah.
You don't need to be a pro.
I think that's the other thing that turns to people up.
Like, my friend's really into it or my sister's really into it.
Like, you can be into it and whatever level works for you.
It just looks nice and it's triggering a reaction within you.
And that works for you, brilliant.
Like, you get the feel of it.
Like, you're so busy.
Like, you're raising two beautiful boys, a house full of, like, of wonderful people,
like, a busy career.
So for Lou with the criticism, I think I was working together is about me sort of being able to sort of take that pressure off her trying to sometimes always having to sit and think when actually what for Lou is about is about finding that space that she needs to kind of focus on work or focus on her family and take that kind of pressure off.
Yeah.
Your mind's spinning.
A little bit space.
Yeah, absolutely.
Great.
And as of course you both know and as I think our listeners know, there has been an uptick in chat around Crystal.
and around more people speaking about working with them.
It does feel like there has been like an uptick in popularity.
Why do you think that is over the last couple of years?
Is it visibility?
I think they were aspirational before.
I think there's always been quite an underground community for like, yeah.
I mean, like I said, I've been on 36 now.
And I was finding them at 7.
And I'll work with people and they're like,
oh my God, I spoke to my granny about Kristen.
And she kept it in her bra.
I'm talking about someone who's in their 90s.
So they've always been popular.
I think the age of the social has just given them
It's a really amazing platform where we can share more.
Because before it was like word of mouth or we kind of, like I said, we kept it under the radar
because we didn't want people to attack it because it was very personal.
It's a very personal experience.
But now we're singing about it because we're finding more people who are open to it.
And I think finding people who are in the public, like Lou using them,
has given them a great voice.
But it's also made people more aware that they're not just for people in that celebrity status.
Like, everybody can get them.
And I think there's just to hit a whole new way.
of people kind of going, right, okay,
like it doesn't have to cost thousands of pounds,
have a really nice crystal.
We obviously have to make sure that we've got it as fair trade as we can,
but I can get my hands on that,
and I can find out how to use that,
and I can tap into all these various arts,
whereas before people with status or perhaps money
could only really tap into the people who would have been the gurus then
because they would have had to travel far to find them
or had the connections to find them,
and now it's like it's open door to.
If you knew there was crystal shop,
I mean, I didn't know.
I would sometimes say, where do I get one of those crystal things, Em?
And she's like, there's a shopping common garden.
I'm like, oh, okay.
And like, it's just knowing, isn't it?
I think it's great that it's becoming a positive.
I think...
Would you have thought Charlie would have carried one of the most happy state at school?
Yeah, I just think it's such a positive because, you know, life is tough.
We're, you know, with the whole what's been going on, you know, this year, people need a little bit of something.
And I think, I don't know, I think we should never be ashamed to try and get in touch with things that are out there that bring a positivity, help, whatever it is you're seeking.
And there's a whole array of things that people can be looking for.
But I don't know, I didn't realize crystals were such thing until really in the last couple of years.
I had no idea.
I mean, I most probably wouldn't have thought I would know anybody that had crystals and put
them out late at night for the moon to recharge.
But it turns out I know a lot of people that do that, they just never spoke about it.
Emma, what would you say to people who are sceptical about crystals?
Yeah, good, actually, because I've been really skeptical because I think I wasn't brought into it
in a way in which it was like, this is what this is.
Like I had to find my way with it.
Everything kind of spiritual for me.
I think a healthy dose of scepticism really keeps you very grounded in it because it makes
your question why, why, why, why. So if someone kind of comes into being skeptical,
it's not necessarily because they're kind of pooing it. If you're writing something off,
it's not for you, I complete respect for that. But if you're kind of like being skeptical when
you're asking questions, then that's great because there's something within you there that's
intrigued by it. And you'll find your own way around it because there's obviously, there's lots
of different tools. It might be just you want to use breathwork. You just like the look at
the crystal, like I said, or you want to look more at oras or there's energy work that you
want to do or you just like walking out in nature, like all those things, like,
Crystals are not man-made.
They are Mother Nature's gems and they're there for us to use.
And I think sometimes people just assume that, oh, crikey, like how can something like that
fix me?
Well, it doesn't.
It helps you create a space that allows you to heal.
And they do do some miraculous things within that.
But, you know, just starting to have an open mind to it is always great.
But if people are skeptical about it, I don't think it's a bad thing because I think it keeps
you challenging and questioning and asking.
and furthering the exploration
rather than just going,
I know best,
see you later,
because it's not more forever.
And I'm still learning things about them now,
however many years later,
and learning that through how other people use them,
because that's what we wanted the book to be about.
It's not about just going,
this is how I use them,
and therefore you've got to do it like that.
It's about going, right,
the crystals are to support you opening up
this great ability that we have as human beings
and as energy beacons.
And that's really the main purposes
is they're kind of lighting the path.
Yeah.
Cool. It would be great to move on to just talking a bit about which specific crystal might help for which specific issue. Emma, to kick off, if I came to you and I said I was feeling particularly anxious, which crystal might you recommend?
Okay. How light is a great crystal for that? It kind of really studies the mind because anxiety is obviously a lot driven by the mind. So I'd always look at crystals that help steady that in the first instance. But then I'd also use something very grounding. So something like a hematite.
You don't tend to have these ones because they're a little bit dark,
and you like the kind of the nice ones.
But behemoth's a really grounding piece.
So I'd use a kind of an array of crystals.

year that we're living. Oh, yeah. Definitely. I mean, well, this is where this is a piece of, like,
you've got you the other day, which is a pink tourmaline, which is actually a lot of stresses about
having to forgive situations. And that's a real piece of kind of like,
Sometimes when we're getting stressed, it's because we're not slowing down.
So this is a piece that just kind of helps you ease back more into your own natural rhythm.
Yeah.
And when you're busy as you are, I think that's...
I think that's what M often gives me pieces because I think my workload can be quite full on.
As, you know, anybody in my industry is very up and down.
So you take it why it's there because you don't know when it's not going to be there.
But due to that and being a mum of two, it's 100 miles an hour.
So, yeah, she always likes to find crystals that help me take a little bit of a moment and not, more than just my body, like my mind and body working 100 miles an hour.
So, yeah, so I've got one of them.
You've got one of them for sure.
I've got a lovely.
It's actually really beautiful crystal.
It's kind of like a purpley pink with like powerful white bits that go through it.
It's stunning.
And it's the one I have is quite rough.
It's quite rough on the edge.
It's just lovely.
It looks, it looks lovely.
It's a good piece.
Great.
I think I might know that answer to this one already, Emmett,
but for love and relationships or even friendships.
So you'd expect me to say Rose Quartz,
but actually I think a lot with love for me
is finding, it's helping people find confidence
because Rose Quote's about unconditional love
and it's about really tapping back into self-love, self-expiration.
But if you're looking for relationships,
it's always about looking at what you feel
that you are lacking that's holding you back.
Tiger's Eyes is the piece for you, definitely.
I know I've dated back in the day when I was like,
tigers I was shoved in my brother by the rockload.
Oh, then some people say,
I just don't know what to say.
So it's like giving them a critique.
The whole host of women and men running out for what's it called.
Tiger's Eye now.
Literally going online Googling.
They're living.
Yeah, I don't think it's just about finding those particular parts.
But I think Rose Sports is great if you're looking for self-love.
But then it's about how you then take that out into the world.
So I think if it's confidence in love that you want,
Tiger's Eye is great.
If you feel like you want to be able to speak,
your love, then it would be a piece of blue calcite, which is great for kind of like
affirming your loving voice. And if somebody was having perhaps work issues, they're in a
rut, you want to boost your creativity. Yeah. And you think that's what I did when you, in your
dressing room is Labradorite is amazing because it gives you that hub. You've got to think of it
and they're giving off a Wi-Fi signal. And the theatre is, like an office, there's so many more
people's energy going on than just yours. So it's really about you finding that little kind of energy
hub around you that where you feel safe, you feel secure and you feel like you're really connected
into yourself. So often a lull in work will come because there's like so much work or so much
of other people's stuff pouring at you. But Labradorite really allows you to reflect your kind of inner
true. So that really kind of, I find that very motivating, especially when I'm writing, kind of just
it gives me this boost to feel so of myself and kind of competent with myself because a lot of
ruts come from when we're feeling quite deflated in ourselves. Actually, quite when I was at the Savoy,
obviously there's a lot of cast members
and all the girls I was in the show
with were all in the same kind of row
and actually the girls would often say
oh we're going to come to sit in your room
has got a really nice vibe
and I used to have beanbags in there for everybody
but I didn't think about it at the time
but I wonder if it was just had
a nice energy in there
like without the clutter
and the kind of
100 moles an hour that the theatre can be
it just had it was quite a peaceful
kind of environment
So like hair and makeup and wardrobe would always go,
oh, we're just going to hang out in here for a bit longer.
And actually, Brian Connolly would come to my room every interval and have a cup of tea.
And it was like the most calming interval, considering we're about to go out there and do a second half.
It would be like we'd met you, met for coffee in the afternoon.
So, yeah, looking back at the time, it most probably didn't cross my mind,
but maybe that had anything to do with it.
But now most probably did really help create a nice, nice.
Nice energy in the room. Yeah, it's a safe space. Definitely. And obviously at that time, Louise, you were a beginner. Emma, do you have any advice for absolute from the start beginner? If I say I quite fancy seeing what crystals can do for me, what should I do practically?
Okay. So, I mean, obviously I'd be like read the book because that kind of just is going to help you tap into like how they're going to work for you because we give different ways in which you can pick them, what different crystals do, but not just in terms of these are the properties.
for you. It's like teaching you how to kind of
befriend them in your own way and give them intention.
But go out and play. Like kids love crystals
because they run up for them. They go
and they play. As adults, we're a little bit
more kind of like drawn back.
We're like, oh, that looks nice. Oh, I don't know what I want.
Oh, God, so many decisions.
Play with it. You're not going to get it wrong.
You're really not going to get it wrong. So don't overwhelm myself.
They go out and buy like 10. Start with
one, two or three and like start
working with them. Even if that's like sleeping with them,
I think you get really good buzzed at having them on the pillow
because you're moving into that state where you're not so, like, plugged into the day.
You're much more kind of like surrendering to the experience without your mind really trying to kind of think it.
Great. So that might be a case of putting rose quartz net on your bedside table or popping tiger's eye on your bra like you were saying.
Absolutely. Yeah. Like that's what I said. It becomes so subliminal. So it's exactly what you're saying about your dressing.
Like, oh, I didn't think about it. So someone says to me, I had this really good interview.
And I'm like, well, there you go. Like, you know, all these things.
things that are helping to attribute to you kind of finding, tapping into that vibe.
It's right there.
Like, it's enhancing it.
So even if it's just carrying on, you're just having it somewhere you can see it,
like using it as feels right instinctively to you.
Again, you're not going to get it wrong.
And Emma, I know that there are some issues at the minute around the ethical
sorting of crystals and this is something our listeners will want to know about.
Could you give us some advice on what to look out for, where to maybe start shopping?
Yeah, absolutely.
It's such a difficult, Greg.
So we're talking about this bucket maybe even a year ago,
and I've got some really trusted suppliers that I've worked with for years.
But for them, it's like they're like so difficult because there's no regulations in place.
Like if you're kind of mining diamonds, again, you look at a crystal,
there's all these kind of restrictions and rules and playbook absolutely as it should be in place.
But with crystals, there's not as yet.
So I would always say people, if you're going into a shop, ask,
where have you got them from?
where do you source them?
What's the working environment?
Just very simple question.
It's not like you'll be overtly nosy.
Like you have the right to ask that.
And if they don't know, then they don't know.
And therefore, that's a huge red flag for me.
Whereas, like, most of my surprise, I know they'll go over to the country.
And if they're not handpicking them, they know the ins and out of the person that's
picking them.
And they kind of, it's old school.
It's not something who's just decided this is a really fun thing that I want to do.
And not really thinking about the kind of the kind of knock on effects of how that crystal's
being treated before it gets to you. When you are picking them in the shop, pick them up,
feel them, they'll start connecting and communicating with you which one wants to come home
with you. But each of you, if something feels icky and off, kind of step away from it.
Cool. And guys, could each of you please tell me what is one thing you would like people to
know about crystals or one little nugget you've picked up or just something you'd like to say
about them? Yeah. I think for me, it's all about finding things that work for you, whatever that
may be. I'm obviously not an expert at all on crystals. And I just happen to have a mate who
is really into crystals and who's a spiritual healer that I love working and having sessions with
her and tapping into a different element. So I just say, you know, find what works for you.
I think don't overthink it. I think the important thing is getting the crystal from a good place.
So you know that there's nothing untowards that's gone on, whether it be the people pick
in them, the crystals.
And then I think just go with the flow.
I think for me, I've just been open to things.
And I think that's the most you can ever do in life,
is be a bit open, if something you go,
it'll either work fewer, it won't.
And Emma?
Yeah, you're always everything in life.
If you look at it like you're beginning,
you're coming from a really great place.
Because if you're actually in a space where you like,
I know everything, or this is how it is,
I actually gets you stuck in more ruts than anything.
So don't worry about being the expert.
Let them be the expert for you and play with it.
Have fun.
because you're not having fun with it, you're losing the spirit of it
because what they're trying to do realistically is tap you back into that sweet essence
of who you really are before all that other stuff in life happens.
So play with it.
And also if you like it and then like, I remember you had your first session,
you didn't come back for a year.
Because sometimes it takes you a while to get your head around it.
So don't like if you feel like you're writing it off, check in like, is that my heart or is
that my ego?
Like our ego is always trying to keep us really safe.
So if you feel like one day you want them and then one day you don't, it's okay.
No pressure. It's no pressure. Great. Thank you so much. And to wrap up Emma and Louise,
can I ask each of you what your personal goal is right now? Oh, that's the tough one.
I think my personal goal, if I'm not sort of talking about my kids, which are obviously always my
priority, I think is to just carry on doing what I love, which is music and performing. You know,
I've got to release my first album last year.
I got star in the West End.
That's kind of what I went to school to do.
So, yeah, I just regret that.
And I would like to just do more.
So personal goals would be that.
With crystals in both hands.
Amazing, amazing.
And ever, personal goal at the minute?
I mean, my goals, I always like,
I just wanted to be able to be myself.
So, like, I feel like I've ticked a big goal.
So now, like, I'm really lucky I've got, like,
I've just got the aura book come out
and they've got another book come out in January.
So for me, it's teaching and making,
this much more accessible and also normalising it because it doesn't have to be woo-woo or like,
you know, we don't have to put those sort of terms around it that is very normal.
And some of the most in inverted commas, normal people I know that work with crystals or kind
of tap into energy work.
Like you'd be so surprised.
So yeah, I think it's just about more awareness, like creating more awareness for people
and making it more accessible.
People not to be ashamed to talk about it if they're interested in it or to feel that they
calm.
Crack their crystal out there.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I just, I don't know, I think we live in such a world, we're all so worried about being judged
all the time and people are very quick to judge now in this world. And I think, you know,
explore other things, wherever it be this, crystals, meditation, all of those things.
Just find your little thing that gives you a little bit of peace of mind and run with it and
shout about it because it bet your life there'd be somebody out there just down the road
that could really do with a little bit of something of whatever you've found.
I'm a sharer in life.
I'm one of those girls.
If you find something good or if you find something that has been a positive,
then there's by no means would I want to keep it to myself
because I know I've got sisters down the block that could most probably do with it too.
So, yeah, I'm about just getting it out there.
And if it helps just even if today's or podcast,
and that's why I said that I'd be more than happy to sit with them,
I mean, she's the expert and her books are incredible.
And obviously, you know, I recommend anyone to have spiritual healing with her.
But I think even just by today, 10 people go out and find some kind of something out of Iron a Crystal reading her books.
You know, that's kind of like a morning well spent for me.
So bless you.
What a wonderful, wonderful note to wrap up on, guys.
Louise Rednup and Emma Lucy Knowles.
What an absolute delight to chat with you both.
Thank you so much for your time.
I've got crystals, Claudia.
I've got a little rose quartz.
That's all I've got at the moment.
But, yeah, open to more.
Absolutely.
Yeah, definitely.
Going to the time drive.
Yeah. I'm going off now to get one of them.
Oh, I do hope you enjoyed that episode.
Something a little bit different.
And now, I don't know if you, like Louise,
we'll be going out and buying some Tiger's Eye after that.
or maybe you've decided that you're more of a pink tourmaline.
Anyway, do let us know your thoughts on this episode.
As always, you can get in touch with us via our email address or sending us a DM on Instagram.
And all the info about how to do that is in our show notes.
