Hi, we've got Women's Health cover star Millie McIntosh on the pod next week,
talking life as a mum of an almost one-year-old,
the lessons she's learned from becoming a mum for the first time in 2020,
and of course, all the things she'll be booking to make the most of the great,
unlocked summer, fingers crossed, of 2021.
Ahead of the full thing dropping into your podcast app of choice on Tuesday,
here's Millie talking about why it was so important for her to be open and honest
about her postpartum body image journey.
I think women often feel like they can't talk about how they feel about their postpartum bodies
and there's so much attention on women's bodies when they're pregnant
and then there seems to be a lot of pressure to bounce back after you've had the baby
and that's just something I really can't stand because like give us a break
like you've literally just grown a human and yes your body changes a lot while it's like
creating a life carrying it for nine months and I did find the first few months after a pregnant
see like really challenging, like I found it hard to love my body and I, um, I was kind of ashamed
to admit that I didn't like what I saw in the mirror, but I think it's actually really freeing,
liberating to like admit that and I, I really tried to practice self-love, but it did take me
a bit of time to, to get there and to actually really appreciate my body.
Um, definitely what, definitely didn't feel like that in the weeks after I gave birth.
