Starting point is 00:00:04 Elevate your life. Elevate your business. Welcome to the elevated results podcast. The universe speaks through us to us. What do I mean by that? Your intuition is your guide. When the universe is speaking through you, it's coming to you, through you, through your power of your intuition, of connecting to a source outside of yourself, which could be God, grace, the universe, your intuition, whatever it is that you connect to. But when the universe speaks through us to us, if we can start to learn that often when we're coaching or often when things keep appearing in our life and business, it's the universe speaking through us to us. And when I re-listen to a lot of these podcasts, I realize that that is so true because the universe is speaking through me to me.
Starting point is 00:00:52 A lot of the things that I'm talking about or I'm coaching on or coming up in my business are things and messages that are coming to me that I need to learn. There are lessons that I need to learn. there's things that I need to integrate into my business. And so when we look at why business is a spiritual game, well, ultimately, in business, if we're intuitive and we can really be in touch with a higher power and capitalize on allowing that intuitive guidance to be available to us, we're going to be able to serve our clients better. We're going to be able to connect to a source outside of ourselves that's going to allow us to show up for our clients better. That's going to allow us to get
Starting point is 00:01:27 the result. And often as business owners, we get stuck in that masculine energy. where we're always driving. We're always going, going, going. We're always pushing things forward. But when we really look at turning our dreams into our reality and really envisioning our businesses for what we want, we need to look at that intuitive side. I bet you before you started in business,
Starting point is 00:01:49 there was a vision or there was something that intuitively guided you that made you want to get into the business that you're in. What is it? What is that thing that really drove you? What is that connection, that feeling? It was probably your intuition. and then learning how to harness that source outside of yourself. There's different tools and strategies that I've said many times that I will walk you through. But it's all about connecting and grounding down
Starting point is 00:02:12 so that you can harness that power outside of yourself. And even in this moment right now, I'm looking at what's happening around me. This is the first podcast I've done out on my deck and I thought, I envision it. It's going to be beautiful. There's the beautiful lake behind me, the sun, the mountains, everything looks gorgeous. But I didn't really take into consideration that there's probably going to be the odd car driving by, which is happening right in the middle of the podcast. But in business, it's about how we can be flexible, because you're never going to get into business being 100% certain. The external forces around you, the circumstances you're in, your environment, things are never going to be 100% perfect. But you need to learn how to be flexible. And even as I'm looking as these
Starting point is 00:02:53 cars drive by, each time a car drives by, I could allow this to throw me off of my game. But instead, you can use it. You can be flexible and you can pivot from it. You can somehow use it so it can move you forward. And it also reminds me of meditation. When you're doing a meditation, so many students I used to have when I was teaching yoga all the time are doing meditations, they would often say, I can't meditate. So many people would say, I can't meditate. I think too much. That's not what meditation is. Meditation, a lot of people envision is you're sitting there. You're not thinking a single thought. When in reality, meditation is allowing yourself to sit back and become the observer, to become aware of what's going on
Starting point is 00:03:34 around you, to become aware of the thoughts that you're having versus allowing your thoughts just to flood your mind and keep you from being present. It's learning how to step outside and look at it in a different perspective. And in life, life is 10% what actually happens to you and it's 90% your perspective. It's 90% how you look at things. So when you know that success at anything in your business, life, it's 80% your mindset, 20% the how you're going to get there, the actual strategy. So how important is it to fuel and feed your mind? How important is it for you to connect to your mindset, to focus, to utilize that power and that force outside of yourself to become that observer? So even when you look at business, there's always going to be problems happening
Starting point is 00:04:19 around you. Your phone's going to ring maybe when you're in the middle of meditation or somebody's going to need you when you're tied up or you've maybe set that time aside for your family and that's when a problem is going to happen. That's life, that's business, but it's learning how to be that observer. So by utilizing meditation practices and different tools and strategies, you can actually strengthen your mindset so that you can become the observer in this situation instead of reacting. Because as a business owner, and there is several business owners out there that are maybe driven by egos, they're reactive, instead of allowing themselves to really harness the power that you can utilize for meditation to become that observer, to become aware, and then
Starting point is 00:05:02 think things through and then take action from a place of actual spiritual alignment versus reactive mode, where you're getting mad at someone, you're blowing up, you're acting, where then after you actually have to go take more aftermath cleanup, then you would if you actually just took a step back, became the observer, notice what's going on in your business, what's happening with your clients, where's the problem, and how can you be the solution? And then actually, you're allowing yourself to take the actions from that space versus being in full reactive mode. Now in business, how much do you think that would significantly help your results? If you could become flexible, you could learn how to pivot and you could become the observer
Starting point is 00:05:41 that you could actually harness the power of your mindset to look at things in a different perspective. How powerful do you think that would be? That in alone would change your business if you could learn to do that. And if you're in the real estate industry, in any business, we're dealing with people, all the time. And when you're dealing with people, it's about being intuitive. It's about being in tune with their needs. Because often, clients are coming to you. They want your support. They want your guidance. They don't maybe know what they want. They have an intuitive feeling of maybe they want to buy a new home or they want to do something, but they don't really know what they need. That's where you can
Starting point is 00:06:19 really tap into your intuition and notice what do they need. Help them, guide them through it. Utilize that as a And so when I look at my real estate business, in a lot of ways, my spirituality of being in tune, becoming the observer, learning how to utilize meditation practices, mindfulness practices, to become a better listener, has allowed me to ask better questions, which has then allowed me to be more clear on what my client actually needs so that I can deliver, so that I can give them the result that they're looking for. Because again, business is being the solution to someone's problem. There's a lot of problems out there. A lot of people need our help and need your help in your business.
Starting point is 00:06:59 So how can you utilize those techniques to make you a more successful business owner? Utilizing meditation. That is something that honestly can change everyone's life. And when you know that meditation isn't you just sitting there, thinking, not a thought, sitting in a yogi pose with your legs crossed in meditation, that's not what meditation always is. Meditation is taking a few deep grounding breaths, just centering, grounding to the earth below. you, feeling the connection, feeling that stability below you, that is not always going to come within here. Sometimes you need to connect down, you need to ground down and connect to a source
Starting point is 00:07:36 outside of yourself before you show up in that business meeting. You have to take a few breaths, step into the version that you need to be to show up to do the presentation. But when you can start to utilize different meditation practices, you can use visualization. You can also just use it as a way to ground, to connect to your breath, to become aware, to learn how to bring calmness into your life and into your business, to learn how to integrate balance. And it can all just start with meditation practice. You can follow along as I'll have different guided meditations, but even just go on YouTube. And if you don't know how to meditate, don't think about it. Just close your eyes, take a few breaths, and just allow your mind to wander, allow the thoughts to come. But
Starting point is 00:08:22 does the thoughts come, stay connected to your breath. And almost imagine that you're stepping outside of yourself and you're observing so that you're not in the moment. You're connecting to the present and you're just observing the thoughts without allowing an emotion or a feeling to attach to them. Just notice how your thought process shifts. Notice how you feel. And as you start to integrate even five minutes of meditation into your daily routine, just fuck. five minutes a day, notice how you can start to connect to the power of your breath. And when we look at your breath, we look at pranayama. It's called pranayama, which is your life force. That's how we live. That's how we, when people take their last breath, that's when
Starting point is 00:09:06 life is over. Our pranayama, our life force is everything. Our breath is everything. When you're going through something difficult physically or emotionally or mentally, what is the first thing people say? Take a deep breath. Breathe. Connect to your breath. That is the power of your breath. If you can stay connected to your breath, you can stay present, you can stay grounded. You can contain and connect to the power within you all through your breath. And so when we look at breathing life into our dreams, it all starts with learning how to breathe. When I was a kid, I used to play all different types of sports.
Starting point is 00:09:43 I always loved sports. But when I was about 11 or 12 and I started playing hockey, I'm a very competitive person, if you haven't noticed. I think there's the power in competition, not with beating other people and winning so much, but just to show to yourself what you are capable of, to push yourself to be better than you were yesterday. But when I was about 11 or 12, and I would use that competitive nature in my sports and in hockey, I was playing hockey and often I would feel like I couldn't breathe. Like I felt like I was going to pass out. Sometimes I would even throw up. I would vomit. I'd see stars, I felt like I was going to pass out. I wasn't breathing properly. So I spent years. My parents
Starting point is 00:10:25 were always worried. They took me to specialists after specialist trying to figure out what is wrong with my breathing. Like something's not right. And I was told I had sports induced asthma. So with my sports induced asthma, I had many different inhalers. And that never seemed to help. But it was only when I was on the ice, only when I was playing hockey. I'd feel like someone was choking me. And then I couldn't get a good breath. I'd go out. I'd skate my hardest. I'd come off, but I would see stars. It just wasn't nice. And I went to specialist after specialist. And at one point, what they figured out was I had a vocal cord dysfunction. And that meant that every time I got anxious or every time I got in that competitive mode with hockey, my vocal cords, normally your vocal
Starting point is 00:11:12 cords are supposed to open and close. Mine would just close to the point where I was only getting 15% oxygen. I wasn't breathing. How am I supposed to physically perform if I can't breathe? You're not. So what would happen? I would get sick. Then I would get almost anxious because I couldn't breathe. And it would go into my mindset, into my mentality. And I would feel awful. Mind, body, and soul, I couldn't, I couldn't breathe. And so they were trying to figure out different solutions for me. Nobody could figure out anything that would help me after specialist after specialist. So finally, When I was older and I learned what yoga and meditation was, I started to learn how I can connect the power of my breath, how I can control my vocal cords by staying calm.
Starting point is 00:11:57 I can't control what's physically happening, but I control the way that my body reacts to it, the way my mind reacts to it, all through the power of my breath. So that's where I learned different breathwork techniques and the power of proniama. And it all comes down to breathing. Now I notice when I play hockey or if I'm in a competitive, sport or I'm doing something, I'll notice when my vocal cords start to close off. I'll notice when I get anxious and my breath become shallow where I'm really in fight or flight because I'm not connecting to my breath. I'll realize right away and it still happens to me to this day and I'll learn I need to
Starting point is 00:12:34 stop and I need to take a few deep breaths. I don't have to let the outer world know what I'm doing if I'm in a business meeting, if I'm in a coaching call, if I'm doing a presentation, the outer world doesn't need to know what I'm doing, but I need to connect to my breath to really connect to the power within me. I ground down, I breathe, I get centered, and then I'm ready to take action. And so when you look at your business and you look at where you're at in your life, how can you integrate pranayama? How can you integrate your breath into your life? How can you start breathing life into your dreams? Because without our breath, we have nothing. So I am encouraging you to start utilizing the power of your breath knowing that your breath is not just a way for you to merely survive
Starting point is 00:13:19 it's a way and a force that you can leverage and use to really bring power into your life and into your business and it all starts with you it all starts with your breath connecting to the power that is within you and when you can connect to that power you're opening up to a portal for the universe to flow through for the highest good when you can take a few minutes take a couple deep breaths you're actually a allowing the external distractions around you to dissipate long enough for you to connect to your inner sense of self, to your intuition, allowing yourself to be open to that guidance that is available to you from a higher power. You just have to allow yourself to get there. It can be really hard when we're trying to control everything around us. But if we're not grounded and we're not
Starting point is 00:14:04 centered, we're going to end up just flowing around, getting tossed around in that fight or flight cycle. Or if you can connect to your breath, you can ground down like a tree. When the wind blows, your branches might wrestle a little bit, but you're not going to blow over. It's the same thing in your business. If you can connect to your breath, you can stay rooted, you can stay grounded. No matter what's happening around you, you are going to be rooted. You are going to be strong. So maybe all the other trees around you are being knocked over with the economy and their business is falling apart, but not you. You're grounded and you're rooted and you're ready to take action. So start with your breath. Start with harnessing the power within you. Taking a few deep breaths.
Starting point is 00:14:47 Just inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth. Bring your feet to the floor. Connect. So your feet, if you're driving, you can do this after. If you're sitting or standing, really connect your feet to the earth. Feel as though you can feel the connection below you. You can feel the earth below you. And just breathe. Just notice each inhale. connects you deeper to the earth and just really begin to envision that you're growing tree roots down into the earth and allow your breath to connect you deep down to the earth where you're stable, you're grounded, you're strong. Maybe bringing you one hand to the heart and one to the belly is you really just begin to notice the natural connection to your breath and you just inhale
Starting point is 00:15:32 and exhale. And when you inhale, imagine that you're bringing in and breathing in everything you need want and desire. And as you exhale, you're releasing anything that's holding you back, any anchors, anything that's holding you from being the version that you want to be or accomplishing the goals that you want to accomplish. You're just going to flow through a few different breath cycles like that. Just taking a couple minutes, connecting to your breath and just really being mindful and aware of what connections of thoughts are coming through. Begin to visualize as you inhale everything you need, want and desire, and exhale, releasing everything that no longer serves you. Everything that's holding you back from turning your dreams in your business to your reality.
Starting point is 00:16:20 Breathing in everything you need, maybe it's resources, it's different people in your business, it's confidence, it's a stronger belief system, whatever it is that you think you need to bring into your life and into your business, you're going to inhale that right now. And as you inhale, really visualize and think about what it is. And as you exhale, let go everything that's no longer serving you, everything that's holding you back. That could be the lack of confidence. That could be your beliefs about money. That could be your beliefs about your business or having a lack mentality.
Starting point is 00:16:50 Or maybe it's someone in your business who's holding you back or it's a belief or it's an environment. Whatever it is, release it. And then start to envision your dream business, your dream life and inhaling it. flow through that process for five minutes. I invite you to do this for five minutes a day. Start your day like this. Just brown down, feel the earth below you and breathe in everything you need and exhale everything that's holding you back. Really start to breathe life into your dreams. One day at a time, connecting to the life force, which is your breath. Breathe life into your dreams. Elevate your life, elevate your business with elevated results.
