Welcome back to the business healer podcast where we help you quadruple your income while working just three hours a day. Now you can get off the roller coaster of feast or famine and finally scale your business the easy way. Hi, I'm Nollie
Starting point is 00:00:48 Williams, the business healer. I run three six-figure businesses while working just three hours a day. And in this podcast, I show you how to focus on the things that help you make a ton more money while working a lot less without the hustle and grind. Let's go. Hey there, Nali Williams here, the business healer, and I'm back for episode number three. I'm so excited that you chose to join me on this episode. We're going to have a great time together. I'm going to continue sharing with you my journey as the business healer, how I came to where I am today operating multiple six-figure businesses and working three hours a day. It is a lifestyle that I want for you.
Starting point is 00:01:33 I know it is a lifestyle that you can have. It's within reach. It's easier than you think. And I'm super excited to continue sharing with you. So when we were last together, by the way, let me share with you a couple of things that have happened since the last time you and I were together. Actually, quite a few things have occurred.
Starting point is 00:01:56 that had been actually very, very, very, very exciting. And my wife and I, we just got back from church this morning. And I said, hey, I got to get back with my people so that I can record the podcast and, you know, share everything that I'm up to with you. So we flew out to Phoenix, Arizona, had a great time there. One of my business partners, Curtis Johnson, had a leadership event. and it was very, very eye-opening. You know, oftentimes when these leadership events come up,
Starting point is 00:02:32 I don't want to go to them. I don't know about you, but, you know, I've got a beautiful home in Puerto Rico. I like being home. I don't really like leaving my house. I used to be on the seminar circuit, and I would fly out all the time and go and teach, train, coach. I love doing that. But now that I've been able to do it virtually, I actually like it even better.
Starting point is 00:02:54 You mean I don't have to leave my house? You know, I can just do everything from from my studio. I love it. This week, I have four training events and, you know, scheduled. And all of them are right here from where I'm sitting right now in Puerto Rico. So they're all virtual. Well, this was one in person. And so we flew out. And I got to tell you, it was a really, really good time that we had. We had a great time, actually. And I learned so much. I've got a group that's not growing at the level that I think it should. The time that I had together with Curtis Johnson and the folks in Phoenix reiterated that it's purely a leadership issue. You know, if you're not getting the kind of success that you want, the results that you want from your team, you've got to start with leadership, you know, because leadership is the common denominator. What kind of leadership are you providing?
Starting point is 00:03:48 Are you providing high touch, high value, high tech? super important. So that was great. That was the big kind of the big takeaway that I learned is that I've got to get back to leading my group. And that's the only way that we're going to grow to the tens of thousands that we're headed to. From Phoenix, we flew to Sarasota. I had a couple of great days there. Cut our trip short because right now Sarasota has the red tide. I don't know if you've ever experienced that. Those of you in the Tampa area up and down that coast know what I'm talking about. So the red tide is out. You can't go to the beaches.
Starting point is 00:04:27 You know, there's a lot of dead fish out. And it's just not good. So we flew home early. And it was good because a buddy of mine was having a birthday party here in Puerto Rico. So Brent Gove had his birthday party. I won't say how old he turned. But we flew back and we intended that. Had a great, great time.
Starting point is 00:04:46 And so now I'm back in the saddle. And I'm so glad to be back because I get to share with you and kind of pick up the story. where we left in episode two about the trajectory of the business healer. You know, I talked about the idea that it's easy sometimes to make money. At least it has been for me. I've been gifted with the gift of making money. Keeping it has been another challenge, keeping it. And I've learned that.
Starting point is 00:05:15 I've learned it the hard way, okay? You know, history will repeat itself if you don't learn the lessons that she's teaching you. So I've had to learn those lessons and I've been very happy to learn them. And I'm thankful. This life has been such a journey. Remember, the journey is the destination. The journey is the destination. Sometimes we're so in a rush to get where we're going that we forget to enjoy the journey. When I was 33 years old, I lost everything I had. I didn't know how to keep it. The music industry went completely digital. And because I didn't know how to pivot with the market, I ended up getting shifted out of the market, out of the market.
Starting point is 00:06:02 And that's a very common thing that I've seen in many industries. I've seen it in the financial sector. I've seen it in the music industry. I've seen it in the real estate industry. All industries pivot, they change. And especially with technology, you've got to think about this for a minute. Think about all the technological advances that have happened since the 80s, right? So there has been more technological advances in the last few decades than there has been in all
Starting point is 00:06:32 of recorded human history. If you can't keep up with what's happening in your industry, then oftentimes you'll end up being shifted out of it when you really didn't have to be. And so for me, I didn't really know how to pivot. I didn't know how to go digital with my record label. We were making over $150,000 a month. and that went down about 70%. I didn't know what to do, to be honest. And so I ended up trying to figure out like, what am I going to do next? And my wife and I had a huge house. We had a massive home,
Starting point is 00:07:03 almost 6,000 square feet on 10 acres, beautiful home that we had to sell. And we sold it by the skin of our teeth. It was in foreclosure. And we were able to liquidate it. And when I saw the commission that I paid the real estate agent, I said, wait a minute, that's a lot of money. You know, I paid $30,000 in commission. And I said, maybe that's something I could do. Maybe the real estate arena is something that is for me. So when I got into real estate, into the world of real estate, it was really from escape. I was running away from another industry.
Starting point is 00:07:42 You know, I was running away from failure. I had my tail between my legs and I was hiding and I was trying to figure out, okay, what do I do next? what can I do that I'd be good at? I'm good with people, fairly good at talking and sales, and so on. I looked at all the skills that were required. I'm great at marketing. Maybe this would be the career for me. And so after doing all my research, I decided that I wanted to get into real estate sales. And so that's what I did. I got my license over the course of two weeks. There were four classes that I had to take. Each class was 30 hours. So it was 120 hours of classes that I attended, and that was in 2003 and I got my license, got my real estate license, and I began practicing. Actually, I didn't begin practicing real estate right away. I waited about six months until December, and I studied and I studied and I studied and I studied and I studied and I studied. And really what I did was I procrastinated. I procrastinated because I was afraid out of fear.
Starting point is 00:08:47 you know it was a new industry a new thing and it was something that i had not done before and i was just i was just afraid you know i i had been in the music industry it was the only thing that i had done since i was 23 years old now i'm 33 years old and uh but i did study study the game if you will and i wanted to set myself up in a way that i knew that i couldn't fail i knew i couldn't fail. I went right after my skill set, which was working with sellers, okay, listings. Why? Because I'm an expert marketer. I'm great with people with selling. And I knew that in order to sell a house, I had to do, it was actually three sales that I had to make. Number one, I had to sell myself. So I worked on my value proposition. What do you, what do I have that's different than every other
Starting point is 00:09:41 agent. So I differentiated myself and created that great value proposition on paper. You know, my marketing plan, top 10 reasons to trust me and lots of other tools that I use. I'll bring this, I'll bring some of these to you guys or all of them, you know, in upcoming episodes. But I, so I did did the work there. So I had to sell myself number one. And then obviously, of course, I had to sell the, first I had to sell the client on the idea of meeting. with me. Okay. So I had to sell the free consultation. And I got to tell you, and this is true for many industries, by the way, if you could only have the meeting with the client, that would up your chances for success. You know, I tell my one-on-one coaching students all the time, you know, if we can
Starting point is 00:10:32 increase your number of at-bats, that's going to increase the number of potential home runs or at least the number of hits that you get. Because if you don't even get an at-bat, you know, we don't stand much of a chance do we so i knew first of all i had to sell the prospect on the idea of meeting with me carving out one hour of their time one hour of their life to sit down and have a conversation about the idea of selling their home so i had to sell them on the idea of setting an appointment with me then i had to sell them to sell them on the idea of listing with me. And that meant that I had to sell myself. Okay, I had to sell myself to them. And then thirdly, I had to sell the property in order to get a paycheck.
Starting point is 00:11:29 So in this industry, in this business that I got myself into, I had to create three sales in order to make a paycheck. And I got really good at it, really, really, really good at it such that, you know, my first 10 years in the business, I did over 1,000 transactions, over 1,000 deals. Within five years of me being in the business, I was, and this was in 2008, I was awarded the number one, I was the number one top producing real estate agent in the city of Austin, Texas. There were 9,800 some odd agents in the MLS that year, almost 10,000. and my production was ranked number one by the Austin Business Journal, and which they do these every year.
Starting point is 00:12:18 I did 96 transactions that year as a solo agent, okay, as a solo agent. My average was over 100 deals a year. In fact, when I got into full-time, what I call full-time training, teaching, coaching, or what we might even say, full-time healing, full-time ministry, that year I did over 153 deals. So I cracked the code. I learned the game. I mastered the game. I spent more time working on myself than I did on my business. I spent more time figuring out what is it that makes me excited?
Starting point is 00:12:55 What makes me tick? What brings true and lasting happiness to Nollie Williams? And that's the question I want you to ask yourself. What really brings me true and lasting an optimal joy, fulfillment, happiness. I thought at first it was working all the time. And what that was all actually doing was it was just masking some emptiness that I had. And so I got into the real estate game, okay, got in the game, mastered the game. And then I really got the tug on my heart to pay it forward, teach, train coach. and that was 2014 when I literally abandoned my real estate practice
Starting point is 00:13:42 and went into full-time coaching and teaching. When I did this, by the way, I didn't have a clue how I was going to make it work. I did not. All I knew was that I was having insomnia. I had many sleepless nights where I envisioned myself helping God's children be successful. at a high level, at a very high level. There was so many people, not just in the real estate industry, but in the entrepreneurial space that were struggling.
Starting point is 00:14:16 You know, new entrepreneurs coming in, entrepreneurs that had been at the game for 10, 20, 30, 40 years and are still on the hustle and grind. And I knew that I had discovered a better way. In fact, when I was in my real estate practice, that's when I became very conscious about, utilizing this skill that I have, which is the skill of operations and systems and efficiency. And I'm a master of efficiency, a master of systems and operation.
Starting point is 00:14:48 And I had worked on this when I was in the music industry. In fact, when we got a deal, when we got a distribution deal with EMI Capital, they flew to look at our operation. We were in Round Rock, Texas at the time, just outside Austin. and they flew from Nashville area to check us out. And they commented that, and by the way, it was their CFO and a few other executives that flew out. And they commented that ours was the cleanest and most well-run record company
Starting point is 00:15:22 that they had ever been to, that they'd ever, and these are big players. And I had a little podunk, little operation. And, you know, in my opinion, it was a small operation. But the way I ran things, and I didn't realize this until later on I realized that, you know, I test out as an engineer on all the tests that I take for aptitude and personality profiling and career and all that says I should, should have been an engineer, which I can't imagine, you know, doing that. But that's how I test out. And so I started looking at better and better ways of actually operating a business of operating a company. And I discovered that you can run a company much easier
Starting point is 00:16:12 and with much less effort when you focus on the things that really move the needle. What does that even mean? That means that most of the things that you do in your business right now, today, are not really moving the needle of success in your business. Let's say you did 20 things today, there are probably, if I took three or four of them, those are the things that are moving the needle by 80% or 90%. And all the others, maybe 16 items of the 20, are moving the needle by 15 to 20%. And so all I propose is that you, when we talk about three hours a day, this whole concept that I teach, is that you focus on the 10%. you focus on the 15, you focus on the 20%.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Really, it really goes down to 10 or 15% that you have to focus on. And when you focus on that and you delegate everything else to others, that's when you get the breakthrough. So in the real estate game, I got it to where I was just working a handful of hours a week and I was pretty much delegating everything to others. You know, when I think about this, I think about some questions that I used to ask myself. And when I was a young entrepreneur, I used to always ask myself, how can I make more money? That was my chase.
Starting point is 00:17:49 How can I make more money? How can I make more money? So I was always trying to figure out how to make more money. And later I realized that that was not the best question. It was probably a better question. So I started thinking about what would that better question be? And so I started asking myself this question. I said, how can I make more money without working more?
Starting point is 00:18:14 So the question went from how can I make more money to how can I make more money without working more? Okay, I want to put the same amount of work, but I want to make more money. And I thought that that was such a much better question and it was. and then I graduated to the question of how can I make more money without working? So it went from how can I make more money to how can I make more money without working more to how can I make more money without working, period. And that has really, you know, when you start asking yourself better questions, that really will lead to a better trajectory of that.
Starting point is 00:18:59 success for you and your company, for you and your business, for you and your employees, for you and your 1099s, for you and your team, it will lead to a better, in my opinion, or from my experience, it would lead to a better trajectory of success for you when you start to ask the better questions. So I completely mastered, again, I mastered the real estate game, I mastered the record game, if you will, got derailed from it, got into real estate, got into coaching, teaching, training, and I generated a seminar that I was able to take all across the country over 100 cities and teach, train, and coach real estate agents on how to succeed at a high level with my overnight celebrity success toolkit that I would actually
Starting point is 00:19:47 gave them for free, absolutely at no cost to them. All they had to do is go get the sponsors. The sponsors paid the cost of, you know, of the license of my system. And now they had all the tools that I used to successfully sell over 1,000 homes in their business overnight. Okay, so they went from looking like an average agent to a mega agent, boom, overnight. And so that's something that I did for many, many years until I started realizing that there was another level. You know, and this has been a journey that I've been on for about seven or eight years is my ultimate greatness. Before then, I really didn't care necessarily what my ultimate greatness was. I mean, I wanted to be good, or maybe I should say good enough.
Starting point is 00:20:42 I wanted to make the kind of money that I wanted to make. But I didn't necessarily want to be great. Being great meant being seen, being up for. front being, you know, in front of people. And I prefer generally to be behind the scenes. And by the way, when you, when you start to play in the realm of allowing yourself to be great, to be, really it's, it's all about just being who you are. It's not even, it's not even really about being great. It's just about being who you are. Because anything less than that is maybe just good enough. You know, when you move from the idea of how can I be good enough to the idea of being great,
Starting point is 00:21:27 a lot of things shift for you. And for me, I started really reading a lot of books like the power of your subconscious mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy. And I started reading books like Letting Go by Dr. David Hawkins. There is definitely a higher level of the game. than I've been willing to play at. And when you get on this path, it never stops. There are always higher levels to achieve
Starting point is 00:22:00 when it comes to being the ultimate you that is you. Most of it, though, it has to do with unlearning. Unlearning. Most of the stuff that you have been taught is wrong. And so it's about learning new things so that you can really excel at the level that you deserve. Okay, not just the level that you desire, but it's also the level that you deserve.
Starting point is 00:22:30 Well, when we get back together, I'm going to share with you some more information on how I kind of pushed through and became the business healer, got to where I am. I know I shared a lot of this on episode one, but I want to put a bow on it, and you know these are the early episodes of the of the podcast and so with these episodes i really
Starting point is 00:22:56 want to share my heart and help you understand why it is that i do what i do and i think that by doing that it will help you to discover a deeper reason for why you do what you do not just money okay because money is not going to having money as your big why is an unsustainable obtainable objective, because when you have all the money that you desire and that you need, you're going to be unfulfilled if that's your objective. Because making money is super easy, super duper easy, especially once you have unlocked the golden key. A lot of this, a lot of the podcast episodes that I do, you know, as we move forward, is all going to be about helping you create wealth and not wealth that you have to hoard up.
Starting point is 00:23:46 you don't have to store it up, hoard it up, put it in a huge barn or lock it behind locking key, be out of fear. Because once you learn how to generate wealth, you become like an ATM machine. You'll never not know, unless you, you know, obviously you lose your mind. That's an issue, right? But if you've learned how to create wealth, that's a lifelong skill. Nobody can ever take it away from you. So I'm going to sign off. I love you. I appreciate you. I thank you so much for tuning into this
Starting point is 00:24:21 episode of the podcast. Whatever you're doing right now, whether you're working out, going for a walk, driving, enjoying yourself.
