Elevate your life. Elevate your business. Welcome to the Elevated Results podcast. Welcome to the Elevated Results
podcast, or I should say welcome back because it's been a hot minute since we did an episode. But I'm
Teneal Zellweger. I'm your host and I'm excited to be here today. Over the last few months, we had a little
bit of a sacred pause when it came to the podcast, but it ultimately was a time where we had a lot of
growth happening in our own personal lives and in our business. And we got to see some of our
visions come to fruition, which was pretty exciting. It's summer. And summer in Alberta, it's really
short. You just want to embrace every moment that you can while it's warm out. So that's what we did.
But now we were moving into the holiday season. And with that, there's always that stigma around the
new year, new year goals. But why do you have to wait until the new year to start? If there's
something you want to accomplish if there's a dream or a goal, something that's really been pulling
at you, but you haven't executed it yet. Why wait? Do it now. Do it scared. Do it anyway. Do it when
there's things that aren't aligning perfectly. Because in life and business, things don't always line up
perfectly. It's about making the decision to do it anyway. Because the most important part when it comes
to accomplishing your goals or really turning any dream into a reality is the decision first, but second,
the commitment to be disciplined and consistent with it.
And when you start being consistent and discipline,
you start to build that trust back within yourself
where you know that if you do one thing, you can do anything.
And we just had a really exciting challenge that we did for the first time
called the Unbreakable Challenge.
So it was an 84-day challenge.
We just finished it a couple weeks ago.
But over those 84 days,
it was ultimately about unleashing the best version of yourself
because you're only in competition with you.
You're not in competition with anyone else.
You're in competition with your ego.
You're in competition with the procrastination.
You're in competition with the old version of you that has all those limiting beliefs that are
holding you back with all of your excuses, with that little inner bitch voice, that victim
mentality telling you you can't do something.
That is what you're in competition with.
So ultimately, when you make that decision to step into being a better version of you,
you're committing to overcoming that.
You're in competition with that old version of you.
So step forward into unleashing and showing yourself what you're capable of.
So over that 84-day challenge, the Unbreakable Challenge, it really was just about showing yourself
what you're capable of.
So for 84 days, you did two workouts, one 45-minute workout had to be outside.
One could be inside, whatever workout of choice.
You had to drink a gallon of water.
You had to journal every day.
You had to read at least 10 pages of some kind of self-development book, something that was
helping you grow or be a better version of yourself. No alcohol, no stimulants, like no drugs,
nothing like that. You had to follow some kind of eating plan. But the thing was, was, yeah,
if you commit to doing it for a week, it feels great. But when you do it for 84 days,
you start to build that consistent discipline within yourself to show yourself that you can do
hard things. And this is a part of my lifestyle. I used to do Andy Fersilla's 75 hard.
My husband and I did it years ago. And it was really about just showing yourself what you're
capable of. So this 84-day challenge was in alignment with Andy's 75 hard, but it was our own
take on becoming unbreakable. And there was times throughout those 84 days when I have a two-year-old
daughter and I'd put her to bed and I'd fall asleep in her room and I hadn't done my second
outside workout. We're in the middle of winter, but you had committed to those 84 days. So you got up,
you went outside, you got to run in, maybe you walk the dogs, you got on the bike, and you did your
second workout anyway. You did it at 10 o'clock, in the dark, in the dark, in the day. You did it at 10 o'clock, in the
the snow, tired when you didn't want to do it. But it was that commitment that you said you were going
to do it and you did it anyway. And it's those moments when you don't feel like doing something,
but you do it anyway, that you show yourself how capable you really are and that you are
unbreakable. So we just finished that a couple weeks ago. But the part that I was the most grateful
about was the community that did it with us. There was people that joined into the challenge that had
never done anything like this before. And to see them out at 5 a.m. going for
runs, seeing them pushing through, it was honestly inspiring because that's the power of the community.
And that's what this is about is co-elevating, surrounding yourself with people that motivate you,
that push you to really ignite that power within yourself and show you're what you're capable of.
Because when one of us becomes that catalyst, we inspire other people to do it as well.
So that was one of the biggest wins with the Unbreakable challenge was having the community do it with
us and see people break through their own barriers. See people show themselves that they were unbreakable as
well. So we will be doing another new challenge in the new year. So stay tuned for that if you want to
kickstart and show yourself what you're capable of. I will put it in the links below. But it's just
that reminder that we don't have to wait for the new year to show ourselves what we're capable of.
So if you want to start now, do it. I'm really, I'm challenging you to do it and overcome those
little voices that are holding you back because you can accomplish anything that you set your
mind to. You just have to set your mind to it. And that is the power.
of our mindset. You have the most secret weapon available to you and it's not outside of you. It's
your mindset. Your mindset is the most powerful thing that you can harness that in your intuition.
So when you can learn to rewire your brain, you can actually learn how to unleash the potential
within you that you didn't even know you had. Did you know that athletes or even you personally,
if you're working out at the gym, if you're going for a long run, you're running a marathon, anything
like that, when you feel exhausted and you feel like you're at the point of giving up, you're actually
only at 10% of what your body is truly capable of. Your mind's going to give out on you well before
your body will ever give out on you. So it's time that you learn how to rule your mind or your mind
will rule you. But that's a decision that you get to make every single day. Every single day you
wake up, you get to make that decision. Are you going to let that victim mentality with those voices
that are going to keep you small, keep you comfortable, keep you where you are, are you going to let
that be what leads your day? Or are you going to say, not why me, you're going to say try me, and you're
going to step into that victor mentality where it doesn't matter what's happening around you because
you know that you're confident, you know that you're certain, that you're going to figure out a way
how. And when you can tap into that energy of being that victor, you open up that energy to the universe,
to God, to grace, to everything around you that you're going to start to shift your focus onto, that
you're going to be able to do it no matter what. Versus if you start your day with that victim
mentality, you're actually opening up the energy and the frequency of things happen to you. So why is
this happening to me? The world's falling apart. My business is shitty. The economy is bad. When you start
focusing on that, you're going to start to see it because what you focus on grows. So that's where every day,
every minute you get that decision. Are you going to be the victim or the victor? Is it going to be
why me or try me? And when you can shift your focus into being the
the victor, everything will start changing. But it's the simple shifts that we use every single day.
And they're so simple that we really have the power to rewire our brain. Neuroscientists actually
did studies and your brain doesn't know the difference between a real thought or a made-up thought.
So although you may not get to decide every thought that comes to your mind because as humans, we have a lot
of thoughts, you get to decide which thoughts you're going to believe. You get to decide what comes
through your mindset. So this is the power of your reticular activating system. So your RAS is known,
much like a bouncer or known as a security guard for your mindset. So when you show up at a bar,
or you go to a hockey game, or you go to a concert, they always have a security guard at the door.
That security guard gets to decide who walks in the door. They don't get to decide who comes to the
door, but they get to decide who are they allowing in the door. The boss tells them, oh, sir,
maybe that guy's a little too intoxicated, that guy probably shouldn't come through the door,
but her over there, she looks like she's allowed in, enjoy the game, right? That's the power of
your mind. That's your reticular activating system. You are the security guard of your mind. So you
get to decide what thoughts you're going to believe. You get to decide what thoughts are actually
going to run the narrative of your day and run your life essentially. So when we often think about
our mindset and rewiring it, we think it's such a big task. We think my mind's like this. We think my mind's
how am I going to actually rule it? How am I going to start to rewire my brain? I'm going to
teach you two very simple tools that you can use on reshifting your focus. Because life is 90%
your perspective, 10% what actually happens to you. So that is the power of rewiring your brain.
Because again, neuroscientists have proven this with studies that you can rewire your brain
by choosing the thoughts that you're going to believe. What you focus on grows. So shift your focus.
Now, we're all human beings.
We're created just like animals.
We're created for survival mode.
So our brains are naturally wired to keep us safe.
They're going to keep looking at where is their danger?
Where is their problem?
What can I do to survive?
But as human beings, we have that decision.
We can rewire it.
So we have to work a little bit harder at it, but we can rewire it.
So that is the power of rewiring your brain.
So these two simple strategies are the greatest gift that anybody can do at any moment of the day.
And they seem so simple. But as a society, when we look back in time, ancient history always repeats
itself. There are some really amazing ancient tools and strategies that people used to use back in the ancient
times that helped them to grow, that helped them to shift. And they just got lost as we translated through
growing into a different age. Now we're in a world where we're always on our phones. There's technology.
We're in a technology-driven age. But the truth is, is those ancient wisdoms are starting.
to rise again. And so one of the most simple things is the power of gratitude. Gratitude,
it's so simple. But neuroscientists also have proven studies that when you actually start
thinking about being grateful and you start focusing on what you're grateful for, you start
feeling that feeling of gratitude, you actually can shift yourself into a different energy.
And everything is energy. So by just focusing on what you're grateful for, you actually start
to tap into that energy of gratitude. You actually start to tap into that energy. You actually start to tap into
that energy of rewiring your brain to focus on what's going right, what could be going well,
versus focusing on what's not going right. And so when I wake up in the morning, the simplest
thing I do is before I let myself get out of bed is I think of five things I'm grateful for.
So simple. But whether you pray to God or your spiritual, whatever it is, think about five things
that you're grateful for. And some mornings that I wake up and the sun's shining, the others it's
that I have a wonderful daughter, dog's husband, my business. I'm grateful for all
my clients who trust me. I'm grateful for the universe, God, for guiding me, whatever it is. But from the
moment that I wake up, I shift my focus from, oh my God, I'm tired. Today's going to be a bad day to
what's going to go right today. And before your feet hit the floor, you're in that energy of gratitude.
Your mind is already starting to shift that perspective into what's going to go right today. What can you
control and what you can be grateful for and you're in that energy, which is in alignment with the universe
or God or grace of abundance. So that's the first one. Gratitude.
So start bringing gratitude into your day. You can bring it throughout the entire day. Something happens to you at work. A deal falls apart. Something happens. Somebody's not nice to you. It can be hard to be grateful in those moments. It can be really hard not to go and say like, why did this happen? But if you can shift it to what's the gift in this situation? What's the gift in it? How can I learn? How can I grow? How can I be grateful? You shift your energy towards it and then you can navigate it a whole lot easier. So utilize the power of
gratitude. Start utilizing it in your everyday and your business and watch your mindset will start
to rewire and shift. The second one in the lieu of the holiday season is probably one of the best
presents you're going to give yourself this year. It's the gift of presence. You can give it to your
family. You can give it to people at work. You can give it to anyone, anywhere, and yourself. And that is
where presence is ultimately the gateway to happiness. You're not going to be happy tomorrow. You're not
going to be happy yesterday. You're going to be happy now in this present moment. So how can you anchor yourself
into the moment and be present? And that can be really tricky. I know in real estate, in business,
we're in a day and age where we're always on our phone. People are always calling us. They're always
texting us. We're looking at how many likes we have on social media. We're looking at all of these
things. But that takes us away from the present moment. And myself personally, I'm a visionary. I'm very
driven on the future. So I think about all the things that I'm going to do, all my goals, all my dreams.
And that's really exciting.
We have to have those, but we also have to be present in the moment.
Because if we're not present in the moment, we're not going to be happy when we get to that end result anyway.
So it's being present.
Just noticing where you are right now.
Be present with your children.
Be present with your family.
Be present with your clients.
And so I always tried to really set boundaries in a way of how can I be present.
And I'm a working mom.
And I love my clients.
I love my business.
I want to show up for everyone.
But I make sure that when I'm eating dinner with my daughter, there's no phone.
that we sit there that even though she maybe wants to watch Paw Patrol, I'm making her talk to me,
communicate, we're making eye contact, we're being present. I do that first thing in the morning when we do
our morning rituals. We take that time to just really ground and be present with each other and just
enjoy each other's energy. I do that at nighttime. It's just three simple things. Even if it's only
10 minutes, it's that gift of presence. Because when we look back in time and history, they didn't have
phones, they didn't have TVs, they didn't have all of these things. When my parents grew up,
They grew up in the same town as me, but their way of knowing that it was time to go home from playing outside all day with their friends was my grandma would flicker the light on and they knew, okay, it's time to come home for supper.
We don't have that anymore.
We live in a different day and age, but we do have that power to make that decision to implement the power of presence into our everyday, to be mindful.
And when you start to do that, you can already rewire your brain by just being present because you're actually being in the moment.
And so I learned this first, when I first started my spiritual journey was I read the book,
The Power of Now, and it really opened my eyes of how can I be present right now?
How can I be in this moment?
Because there's so much power in this moment.
And when we look at the quote, breakdowns are an opportunity for a breakthrough.
The reason why is because if you've ever been pushed through something really challenging
in your life, maybe you've lost someone, you've lost a business, you've went through
a huge challenge.
in that moment, you're probably praying, you're connecting to a higher power of just being in that
moment to get through that moment. That is the power of presence. But you can use that to bring it
into being happy. And so I learned that through my yoga philosophy and all of my trainings was the power
of presence. And even just being in the moment of getting out of our own heads, because we often
create these narratives, we create these stories that run our life. And often, they're not even true.
So what happened was before I started doing all my yoga trainings is I was worried what everyone thought about me.
I wouldn't even dance unless I was intoxicated because I thought, what if they're judging me?
What if they're looking at me?
And when I did my first yoga training, we did something called this static dance.
And I'm actually laughing as I think about this because it was the first thing.
And I remember standing straight as a board and I wouldn't move because I was looking around the room thinking everyone is judging me like Teal doesn't know how to dance.
I had all this narrative in my mind.
But they broke me out of that pattern.
They made me dance.
before I knew it, I was laughing, I was having fun. I was in the present moment. And so when we look at
some of the poorest countries in the world, they're all so happy. Some of them are so happy. They don't
have anything, but they're happy. And I remember when I was traveling to Bali with my friend,
this was probably like 10 years ago now, and we were sitting on the beach and we were just being
present, like enjoying the moment, feeling the sand. And we were watching the fishermen fish. And it was
just so cool to watch them because it was old school. They were all having the best time, but they
were just present in the moment fishing.
And their kids sat on the beach while they were working.
The kids didn't have any toys.
They didn't have anything.
But they found a lid of a bucket.
And I was just, honestly, it was so cute watching them.
They had the best time of their life because they were present.
So that's the gift that you can give yourself this year.
That's the gift that you can ultimately use in every moment of your life is just tap into
the power of presents and let that be your gift this holiday season.
And over the holidays, it's really easy to be in that indulgment where,
we want to eat a lot, we want to drink a lot. We're surrounded by family and friends. We're in that
community, which is amazing. It's always exciting when you're the energy of other people, especially
the ones you love. But it's still that reminder that you can stay aligned over the holiday season.
You can still give yourself that gift of gratitude and presence by taking care of you.
Because when you're aligned mentally, physically, spiritually, you show up as the best version of you
for yourself, but also for everyone else around you. So it's just that reminder that you don't have to
wait to the new year if you want to start pursuing a goal if you want to be healthy start now do it
anyway and if you want to start the unbreakable challenge with us we are going to be doing it coming the new
year show yourself what you're capable of you deserve it and that is the power of really protecting
your own energy is over the holidays set those boundaries protect your energy it's sacred your energy is
the most expensive currency you'll ever have so protect it and save it and share it where you want to
it. And when you show up in those places that are aligned for you mentally, physically, spiritually,
everyone else around you feels it. And just remember that you are powerful and you're worthy and you
deserve it. So go make this holiday season a powerful one, but also keep it aligned with what you want.
And when we look at this year in reverse, this year was an astrology. It was a year of a nine,
which was a snake. But they say what's the year of the snake? The snake is all about shedding. It's all
about letting go, limiting beliefs, letting go of what no longer serves you. But remember, a snake is
always a snake. So that's where it's just remembering that you are allowed to let go of those things
that don't serve you. You're allowed to set those boundaries where you're not feeling aligned anymore.
So trust your energy because it's a great metric for you to start moving towards the life that
you do dream and desire. And it is exciting because we're moving into the new year. And the new
year is the year of the horse. So if you follow astrology, it's the year of the horse.
And that's where it's all about freedom.
It's all about really starting to see the rewards of everything that you put in over the last year.
Maybe you don't feel like you got a lot of momentum.
I know when I look at my own life and my own business, a lot happened behind the scenes.
A lot of it was shifting.
It was moving.
And really, someone gave me the analogy that it was like a tree, that it was like your roots were growing deep, deep, deep.
And you didn't see the fruition of everything that was planted above ground yet because it was growing.
It was shedding the things that were holding.
it back. It was cutting the leaves that were killing it. That's what happened over the last year.
But now when you move into the year of the horse, it's really about abundance. It's about freedom.
It's about action that's aligned. And you'll start to see the rewards of it. So start tapping
into that energy and watch as the year unfolds because it's going to be a great year. And stay tuned
