Before we begin, do your best to find a comfortable and quiet place where you can sit or lie down without disturbances. Gently close your eyes and allow yourself to relax, taking a moment to just be a breath in. And as you exhale, let go of any tension or stress.
Starting point is 00:00:52 With each breath, feel yourself sinking deeper into relaxation, grounding yourself in this present moment, acknowledging that imperfection is part of the human experience. Remind yourself that you are not alone in feeling challenges or difficulties. Breathe in this sense of shared humanity. breathing out isolation. Please bring to mind a current struggle or challenge you are facing. Coach this difficulty with the emotions and feelings that arise,
Starting point is 00:02:25 observing them with kindness, what you would say to a dear friend experiencing this same struggle. What words of support and kindness would you offer them? Turn these words of compassion towards yourself. May I be kind to myself? May I give myself the compassion I need. Visualize yourself surrounded by a warm, comforting light. This light represents compassion enveloping you. This light grows brighter, filling you with warmth and kindness. Create a compassionate mantra for yourself. It could be, I am worthy of kindness. I accept myself as I am. Repeat this mantra silently.

If there's an inner critic voice that arises, acknowledge its presence, and then gently remind yourself, replace critical thoughts with your compassionate mantra. Inhalation, breathe in self-compassion. With each exhalation, release self-judgment, allow compassion to fill every part of your being,

Feel a connection with them, knowing that your act of self-kindness also contributes to a kinder world, embrace of kindness, just as you would hold a dear friend. Even a small step towards self-compassion is a significant journey towards healing and self-love.
