To this yoga, Nidra sleep meditation.
Before we begin, find a comfortable position lying on your back,
your arms and legs slightly apart, palms facing upward.
When you're ready, gently close your eyes,
and let's embark on a journey to deep, relax.
Take a deep breath in, filling your lungs with air, and exhale slowly, feeling your body beginning to relax.
With each breath, allow yourself to sink deeper into relaxation, releasing any tension you may be holding.
Violently set an intention for your practice today.
It could be a wish for health, happiness, or inner peace.
Hold this intention gently in your heart, trusting that it will guide your meditation.
Begin to bring your awareness to your body.
Starting at the tips of your toes.
Simply observe any sensations you feel in your toes, feet.
Allow this awareness to rise, slowly, up your legs, to your knees, and then to your thighs.
Continue this body scan.
moving your attention to your hips, abdomen, and lower back.
Notice any areas of tension or discomfort.
And imagine your breath flowing into these areas,
gently releasing any tightness with each exhale.
Shift your focus to your upper back, chest, and shoulders.
Feel the rise and fall of your chest with each breath,
Bring your awareness to your arms and each of your fingers, releasing any tension as you exhale.
Gently move your attention to your neck and jaw.
Soften any tightness you find.
Focus on your face, your forehead, eyes, nose, cheeks.
A sense of relaxation to wash over your entire face.
Envision your whole body now as a single field of awareness.
Feel a wave of relaxation flowing from the top of your head down to the tips of your toes.
Sink deeper into a state of complete relaxation.
Turn your attention to your breath.
Notice the natural flow of your breath.
