Live Like a Girl with Dr. Mindy Pelz - Why Supplements Aren’t Working (The Secret Deficiency No One Is Fixing) with Caroline Alan
Episode Date: May 20, 2026Caroline Alan, co-founder of BEAM Minerals and author of the new book The Mineral Reset, joins Dr. Mindy to unpack why minerals are the missing foundation of every health plan, and why you ca...n eat organic, take supplements, and still be profoundly deficient. They go deep on glyphosate, the "Trojan Horse method," and why fulvic and humic acids are the only molecules on Earth that can go inside your cells and carry glyphosate back out.If your hair is falling out, your sleep is off, your energy is low, or you're cramping for no reason, this conversation may be the missing piece. In this episode:Why eating organic is no longer enough for mineral replenishmentThe symptoms of mineral deficiency most people never connect to mineralsHow glyphosate mimics glycine and what that does to your sleep, collagen, and nervous systemHow fulvic acid goes inside your cells, delivers minerals, and carries glyphosate outWhat humic acid does in the bloodstream and why it supports autophagyRESOURCES MENTIONED:Beam Minerals, use code MINDY for 20% off: https://www.beamminerals.com/?oid=1&affid=648Caroline's new book, The Mineral Reset: https://mineralresetbook.com/ MORE ON CAROLINE ALAN:Web: https://www.carolinealan.comInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/carolinealan.official/Web: https://www.beamminerals.com Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/beamminerals/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/beamminerals TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@beamminerals YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@beammineralsFor more resources related to today’s episode, visit the podcast episode page: https://www.drmindypelz.com/ep340Connect with Dr. Mindy:Join Reset AcademyWatch the episodes on YouTubeFollow Dr. Mindy on InstagramSubscribe to Dr. Mindy’s newsletterDisclaimer: This podcast is intended for educational and informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Let's talk about cod liver oil for a second.
And I know what you're thinking.
Cod liver oil, really?
Dr. Mindy, that sounds like something my grandmother took.
But hang with me here for a moment because this is one of those old school remedies that
modern science keeps proving right.
Cod liver oil is one of nature's most concentrated sources of omega-3 fatty acids.
Also, it's high in vitamin A and vitamin D, all in a four.
your body can actually recognize and use.
This is such a powerful combination that is profoundly anti-inflammatory.
It's protective to your brain.
It supports your hormones.
And it does something I care really deeply about, which is it starts to repair and
nourish your gut lining at a deep cellular level.
This is something I personally take every single day.
And one of the things that I have noticed the most,
is what it's done for my skin.
I recommend it to women who are navigating hormonal shifts,
dealing with chronic inflammation,
or simply trusting to protect their long-term health.
So standard process is the company I deeply align with and trust.
It's a whole food-based, clean company,
and it has held the standard of quality for decades,
and I expect only the best from standard process.
They are definitely one of the top new supplement companies in the world.
So if you want to try it, check it out.

On this episode of the Resetter podcast, I bring you back again, Caroline Allen.
Now, let me tell you why I keep.
bringing her back. She is a mineral expert. And she has a company called Beam Minerals. She also has a new
book out called The Mineral Reset. And whenever I pick guests to bring to you or topics, I really
think about the cultural moment. And right now, one of the things that has been really heavy on my
heart has been the laws, especially here in America, that have been overturned around a pesticide called
glyphosate.
Glyphosate is definitely the most harmful pesticide on the planet right now.
It has been proven to cause cancer.
It causes thyroid problems.
It is one of those pesticides that you want to figure out how to get out of your body.
And I haven't had a tool to bring to you on that.
Detox is very complicated.
Detox is very supplement heavy.
and I always want to bring you ideas and health concepts on my podcast that is approachable for
everyone.
But in this day and age, because of the unregulation around glyphosate that has now occurred,
we need a solution and we need a solution fast.
And so Caroline Allen has one.
And it's built around a very specific type of mineral called humic and fulvic.
I sometimes referenced it as humic and fulvic acid.
You'll hear her talk about the different ways you can address it.
But as I bring you this episode, I want to tell you that this is the only thing that I know that you can do on a daily basis to pull glyphosate out of your system.
It is easy, it is inexpensive, and it is a go-to tool, which is why I called Caroline here.
in this episode, you're going to hear what these specific minerals are, and you're going to hear
about glyphosate and what it exactly does to your system. One of the things I find the most
fascinating is that it mimics glycine. Glycine is the amino acid you need for sleep. And what's trending
right now in the health space are glyphine supplements. But what if your body can naturally make
glycine as long as it doesn't have glyphosate in it. This is a big topic that Caroline and I discuss.
So minerals, we get really caught up in macronutrients. How much protein should I have? How many
carbohydrates should I have? What should my fasting window be? But in that conversation, we cannot
lose sight of the fact that if you don't have the right mineral balance in your body, there are many
things that will physically go off and mentally go off. And in this particular episode, we're
going to talk about it. This is not a doomsday episode in any way, shape, or form. This is an
episode to inform you on a possible nutrient that could be a game changer for you and to give
you a solution for detoxing glyphosate. So I can't wait to bring this to you. Excited for you
to listen. If you want to know more about minerals, dive deep into her book.
I think this, the mineral conversation, the time has come, this is the moment that minerals can be the hero for us as environmental laws dramatically shift.
And as always, I hope this helps.
Alan, you are definitely one of the most beloved guests.
And for not just my audience, but also for me, I always learned something when I talk to you.
And I literally did not know that minerals could be as interesting.
and as potent as they are.
So let me just start by welcoming you back to the Resetter podcast.
Thank you so much.
It's so fun to be with you every time.
Yeah, thank you.
You know, it's funny, the mineral conversation was so fascinating to me
because when I first started teaching people how to fast,
I started watching all these people's hair fall out.
I started seeing people have heart palpitation.
and when we gave them minerals, all of a sudden it was like,
who it was a miracle.
All of a sudden, all of that stuff stopped.
And I had to figure out why.
I was like, what's going on with the world that everybody's so mineral deficient?
And at that time, my understanding was because of conventional farming
and the fact that most people are eating food from farms that have been monocropped.
But now the laundry list of things that are.
depleting people of minerals is growing. So I just want to start off before we get into the
bulk of it. What do you think is happening in this day and age that has so many people mineral deficient?
Well, there are several things. And one is that lack of nutrient density in the foods we eat
due to monocropping. But even if you're eating organic foods, I mean, anytime you grow food in soil,
it takes the minerals from the soil.
And if you don't get the minerals back into that soil,
even if you're growing organically,
that soil becomes mineral depleted over a period of time.
So that's the first thing.
The second thing is water, our water,
so many people are drinking filtered water
that's no longer replete with minerals,
like if you're drinking from a well,
or even tap water has a lot of minerals.
Of course, we don't really want to drink unfiltered,
tap water anymore because we have additives in that water. So lots of people are experiencing
mineral depletion from mineral depleted water. The next is from things like glyphosate. So glyphosate
actually gets into your system and chelates minerals out of your system. The other thing is
from the imbalances that are created from things like salt-based electrolytes.
So you might think you're actually putting minerals into your body when you're using strong concentrates of salts,
but actually you're getting your body to get rid of those concentrations.
So they actually don't have the positive effect that people have.
So there's a whole bunch of different things.
And most of them are because of misunderstandings about what is healthy.
And just a misunderstanding about how the body works and how minerals work.
body. So is it true then when you think, I've heard like the broccoli we're eating it today has like
75% less minerals and vitamins than the broccoli, our grandparents ate? Is that a, is that a true
statement? That is absolutely true. In fact, there's a study done in 2002, I believe, 2002. And it
measured foods grown in the 1950s with foods grown in the 1990s. And it, it measured foods grown in the
1990s, and they found significant nutrient density, lessening of nutrient density in the food,
so that many of the scientists who study nutrient density, say, to get the same nutrients from
an apple that your grandfather ate, you'd have to eat six. Some people say eight apples.
Oh, my gosh. Well, I don't know anybody eating eight apples, maybe apple juice, but then you got the
metabolic challenge of that. So that's insane. How would somebody know their mineral deficient?
You know, I think hair is a very interesting one. I notice, you know, when I take more minerals,
specifically beamed, my nails grow longer, my hair grows longer. But, you know, those are minor things.
Do we have like a tried and true list of things that, symptoms that we know come from mineral loss?
Yes, we do. And,
But I want to provide a little context for it.
And I'll give the list of things first.
And then I want to provide a little context.
So the kinds of things that people are unaware that come from mineral depletion are struggle
sleeping, waking up many times at night, brain fog, that inability to get your thoughts
together, kind of like, oh, I can't quite, I'm struggling to concentrate or focus.
cramping, all cramping in the body, all cramping is mineral depletion in that local area.
Hair loss, so if you shower and you see a lot of hair in the drain, of course, chipping nails, dull skin.
So trouble with your skin is often mineral depletion.
Then things like chronic inflammation.
So let's say you just have, you could have chronic inflammation in your joints, in your muscles,
in your connective tissues, in your, you know, all sorts of different places in your body.
So the question is, how is it that mineral deficiency could be affecting so many things?
And that's what, when it gets really interesting.
So why is it?
When you think about your body and your entire body is made of cells and every,
Every single cell is powered by mitochondria inside the cells, and those mitochondria are fueled by two things,
minerals and amino acids.
Your body makes amino acids, not all, but many, and it requires all the minerals to come from the outside.
So when it doesn't have all the minerals it needs, because you're drinking filtered water and your foods
don't have the nutrients they need, they used to have, and you have glyphosate in your system,
that's chelating minerals and you're creating imbalance with using concentrated minerals so your
body's trying to get rid of excess. What happens is your body is unable to generate enough energy.
So a fully mineralized body can generate about 1,200 watts of electricity every day.
Like that's enough to power a blender, a toaster. I mean, it's a lot of energy.
Wow.
But if you're not getting, if you don't have enough of that foundational,
fuel, those minerals, then your body may be only generating about six or 800 watts. So what does it
do? It says, well, hair, that's not important. You know, I'm going to keep you thinking, but maybe it's
going to take longer for all of those neurological things to happen. Even the development of all the
biosynthesis processes of your thyroid, your adrenals, your hormones, all of the endocrine, all of the
endocrine systems, all of the digestive enzymes, everything is driven by minerals. If you don't have
enough, what happens in your system might be different than mine because what's going to happen is
it's going to land where your system is weak or where my system is weak. Yeah, yeah. I think that's
such a good explanation. I'm so happy you said the last piece because we want things to be very black and
white, but when you're dealing with deficiencies, one deficiency can, you know, cause somebody
to have brain fog and the other person's losing hair. And then we say, oh, it's a mineral loss.
And then there's a tendency to just to like reject that. Like, how can a mineral loss cause both
of those things? But I think what's really important and I always go back to is what in the modern
world has changed. That might have my body changing, which is why I think the monocropping is so
interesting. And I also think the glyphosate situation is also really interesting as we are
starting to see the laws on glyphosate, at least here in America, be relaxed and it's being used
as a pesticide on our fruits and vegetables now. And I think, you know, some of my audience will know
that some of them won't. So can we go in, because you and I have talked about a lot about different
types of uses for minerals, but can we go in specifically on glyphosate and maybe even as a detox?
Because I think that what's really fascinating about minerals is how they do help the detoxification
process of a lot of harmful chemicals in our body, glyphosates, just one of them.
So have you, what have, yeah, what have you seen with people using it for detox?
So these plant-based mineral complexes called humic and fulvic, and these are naturally produced
full spectrum mineral molecules that come from the decomposition of freshwater plants.
They are in like supplementation or replenishment tools that you would use.
They come from ancient decomposed plants like millions of years ago.
So we're not talking about like ground up plants in your garden or something from your compost.
I was just going.
That was exactly where I was going.
It was where I was going.
I was thinking, oh, you mean if I just let my plants die, then I have mineral rich soil?
I will say that, you know, of course, and we know this because, you know, they do cover crops and they, you know,
disc them and put them back into the soil, but it takes like many years to turn plants into
humic and fulvic. It's not something, it's maybe if you have a huge compost heat, maybe at the very
bottom where it's totally turned into dirt, maybe that's very close to fully humic and fulvic.
But humic and fulbic has none of the, you know, antinutrients in it. It does, you know, oxalids,
all of that stuff. It's, it's completely broken down.
into the mineral chemical components that made those plants initially.
And they are, they're molecules that hold like 70 plus minerals.
Now, here's the interesting thing.
You know, always in nature, there have been places on the planet
where there were concentrations of minerals in those areas are toxic to plants.
And this is really key when we start to think about our body,
as an ecosystem the same way a forest is an ecosystem. How do ecosystems like to receive things
in natural balanced ways? How do ecosystems manage detoxification of concentrations through water,
through wind, through moving, you know, things moving, bugs taking things, you know,
mycelium, these micro fungi that move nutrients around? This is how.
how things happen in ecosystems. So nature had to develop tools to create balance in ecosystems
out in nature. And that's what humic, particularly, well, humic and fulvic, they're two
molecules. That's what they represent. They represent a natural technology developed by nature
over millennia to detoxify, remove things from inside cells that are toxic and take them out,
and then remove things from full systems all the way and take them out. Now, how they do it is
such an interesting thing. But it does make sense because cellular life has flourished on this
planet. It's incredibly diverse and thriving on this planet so far. And partly that's because of
humic and fulvic and their role in this process of what I call the sustainable loop that nature
relies on. Things grow. They die. They decompose. They decompose and become humic and folvic,
which then fuel future cellular life. So it... Okay. I have something I've got to
to say that I really think a lot of women need to hear. If you've ever followed a health program
and it didn't work, check this out. This is not your fault. I promise you, let me explain.
Most fitness programs, most fasting protocols, most dietary advice, it was researched on men.
It was designed for men and then handed to women with a shrug and I here you go, hope this
works for you. But here's the thing. You operate on a 28-day hormonal cycle. The foods you eat,
the length of your fast, even the intensity of your workouts, all of it needs to be timed to where
you are in that cycle to actually get a result. This is the science I teach inside my reset
academy. This is the science that I have researched for over a decade. And inside my academy,
Every month, I walk you through it in a very practical and actionable and way.
And it's actually built for your body, for a feminine body.
So it's going to work.
I promise you, I see it over and over again.
So no more guessing, no more following advice that was never designed for you.
This is a moment to get back into relationship with this beautiful body that you are so blessed
to live in.
So if you're ready to finally understand this incredible body of yours and work with it instead of constantly fighting against it, come find me over in the Reset Academy.
It's resetacad academy.
Dot, Dr. Mindy Pells.com.
That's resetacadacademy.
Dot, Dr. Mindy Pells.com.
I'll see you there.
It's interesting because what I'm hearing then is it's a naturally occurring substance that are beautiful.
Earth has figured out how to decompose and give back to us. That's what I just heard in that.
Yeah. Give back to us in many different ways. And then we continue to harm our planet through things
like glyphosate, which continues to harm our human body. But then we can go back to Earth to get a
natural occurring substance so that we can actually repair ourselves. It seems a little bit,
a little bit ironic, don't you think? Well, but it totally makes sense. I mean, think about a volcano.
Think about Mount St. Helens. If you go back to where Mount St. Helens blew up, and when it first blew up,
it looked like a moonscape there. You go back there today. It is a burgeoning, like incredibly thriving
ecosystem there. Because the land regenerated itself. How could that be? Yeah, I was going to say,
how can that be? Exactly. And that's what your body is.
has a power to do, given the proper ecosystem tools, like foundational ecosystem tools.
So what I found really interesting in looking at the minerals and amino acids that are affected
by glyphosate, and I want to hone in specifically on this, because I never like to bring
news forward, health news forward, that I don't have a solution for.
And, you know, my audience hopefully already knows this.
I've done a YouTube video on it that six months ago, the president of the United States overturned glyphosate laws and made it so that glyphosate could be sprayed on all fruits and vegetables and can be used at whatever degree he would, the companies want to.
And then two weeks ago, he made it so you can't sue the companies for any harm done.
from glyphosate. And when I looked into what glyphosate did, you know, it's cancer causing,
it breaks the thyroid down. It's definitely got a lot of things to do with cognition. But when I
looked specifically at minerals and amino acids, the one that really popped out at me, the amino
acid that popped out of me is glycine. And you had a presentation on this. And I think this is
really interesting because glycine is becoming a very popular supplement for sleep right now.
And when I saw your presentation on how glyphosate can start to deplete glycine stores,
I started thinking about all the people who can't sleep and all the people who are now
supplementing with glycine.
And I'm like, wait a second, maybe this is just a glyphosate issue.
Can you talk a little bit about what you know about that?
Yeah, it's absolutely astounding. So the way that one of the main ways that glyphosate has been designed to work is I call it the Trojan horse method. So it mimics glycine. Your body and also plants think it is glycine and they readily absorb it through their roots or through their leaves, often through their leaves as well. Okay. And when they absorb,
it instead of being glycine in your body or in the plant, it instead does a whole bunch of
disruptive things. And the thing you have to understand about glycine in your body is that
it's in charge of things like collagen production, glutathione production, normalization of your
blood glucose levels, hemoglobin production, improving brain activity.
strengthening immunity, restoration of the central nervous system. It promotes the elimination of
toxins, formation of connective tissues, and lowering the pH in the body. I mean, it is a workhorse
of amino acids. Yes. Yes. So when you have lower levels of glycine and you have glyphosate instead
in your system, a whole host of different things happen.
Yeah, do we have a list of things?
Because I think that was a big thing I heard from my community when the glyphosate laws
were revealed is like, well, how do we know if it's accumulating in our body?
And I think we need to ask better questions, which is how do we know what's getting thrown
off, what natural mechanisms are getting thrown off and what those symptoms are?
Well, things like sleep.
So sleep interruption, anxiety, cramping, energy issues, even headaches and joint pain.
And we know glyphosate is connected with renal failure, and we also know it's connected with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
I mean, those are two major lawsuits that have been won by defendants.
I mean, people.
So there are a huge host of things.
And, you know, it affects pineal gland function, which is a really important piece of sleep.
So all sorts of mood and mental disorders.
I mean, there are many people who have, and if you've ever read a book called Toxic Legacy by Stephanie Seneff, it's a great book if you want to really delve into it.
And she correlates, you know, the increase of Alzheimer's and autism with and some.
things like bipolar with glyphosate exposure, intense glyphosate exposure. Yeah, and I, you know, I always
think about like, well, where are you getting glyphosate? And you can go to your store and buy
organic, but I've learned from a lot of farmers that if you're an organic farm that doesn't spray
glyphosate and you're next to a farm that does spray glyphosate, that it just goes in the groundwater
and over to the next farm. Have you heard the same thing? Absolutely. Absolutely. And even if you don't
live in a place where farming happens, let's say you live in a city and you're not where they're farming,
you're still getting exposed to glyphosate, not only from the foods you're eating, but just from the
environment. They spray it alongside roads to keep weeds down. Your neighbors probably spring it in their
driveway. If you live in an area where somebody's got a blackberry patch, they're probably
using it to keep their blackberries down, et cetera.
Okay.
Yeah.
You know, it's interesting.
I've done a lot less traveling over the last, like, year,
and it's amazing how much different I feel, because with travel comes eating out all the
time.
And, you know, it's rare to get a restaurant that has food that's not sprayed with glyphosate.
And it's fascinating to see the difference when I actually stay home, and I, and I intend.
eat organic food. Years ago, you know, we used to say, you know, the clean 15 and the dirty
dozen by the EWG, and now I'm like, you're signing yourself up for chronic disease. If you are
not eating organic, it's gotten to that sad of a moment, and we all need to be aware of the impact
of these chemicals on our long-term health. And not to be, you know,
fear-oriented, but a 2014-15 study by Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that
80% of U.S. people had glyphosate in their urine. That was 2014-15, okay, over 10 years ago.
And in 2020, they did a study of U.S. groundwater, and they found most American rivers and streams
have glyphosate in them.
Some level.
Wow.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I've heard a different way of saying that I've heard is it's not a matter if you have glyphosate.
It's a matter of how much glyphosate you have in you.
And I know you and you've been around the detox world like me.
There's a lot of discussion that glyphosate will actually start to drive heavy metals deeper
into your brain and start to create even more dementia.
Alzheimer's and mood disorders into those center parts of the brain. So this is not a, this pesticide is not a joke.
Like, we need to know what to do with it. So talk to me a little bit about what we know about
these incredible minerals. And I do want to point out, it's fulvic and humic acids is what these
are called. Is that correct? Because a lot of people will say to me, well, what mineral supplement do
you like, and it's a little more complex than that. It's not like you're just going to go to your
natural food store and look for a good complete mineral supplement. What we're talking about
is a different type of mineral that has a different reaction in the body. Is that correct?
Correct. And we call them effectors, because they actually have, beyond providing a full
spectrum of minerals into your body. And I don't call them acids mainly because humic and folvic
are mineral complexes and they become acids when you extract them using acids. So we'll just call them
complexes because it helps people to understand more what they are. Think about a whole bunch of
minerals complex together into a molecule. But the cool thing about these molecules and the reason we call
them effectors is that they have specific capacities and effects in your system that support
nutrient uptake and intercellular detoxification and full system detoxification in really
amazing and almost miraculous ways. So we can get into that. I do also want to mention, Mindy,
that if people want to find out, you know, how they're doing in terms of glyphosate exposure,
we can provide some links to some different testing locations.
You can get something on Amazon.
There are ways you can get tested for what your level of exposure is or toxicity.
Yeah, it's interesting.
It's interesting.
I used to always tell people that if you're going to test it,
then you just need to know what you're going to do when you get the result.
So it's intriguing to test this stuff,
but we need a solution.
And this is why I'm bringing forward this mineral conversation
because I think this may be an incredible solution.
And maybe there would be, I don't know if you all have done pre-imposed tests,
but I think we need to have like a, what's our go-to thing?
Because now it's going to be everywhere, you know,
bleeding on to all, you know, onto so many of our fruits and vegetables.
Have you done any pre-imposed?
We have not done any pre-imposed with our,
products. You know, we, the way that we work with our products is we provide them as tools to
both practitioners and individuals, and they can, they use them as they want. But the thing I want
to clarify regarding humic in particular is humic is well known in the detoxification community,
whether it's, you know, practitioners who only focus on detoxification or specifically people,
practitioners who focus specifically on glyphosate detoxification. And there are multiple ways you can get
fulvic and humic. You know, we of course have our liquid, our beam minerals that I founded with my
partner that's a liquid form. But there are many other forms of humic and fulvic and we can talk
about that. But if we jump back from the products, I don't really want to focus so much on the products
as the molecules and what they can do and how they work. It's so interesting. Yeah, let's start there.
Yeah, like I'd like to start with like how do they help your body detox? Specifically,
glyphosate is what I'm really interested in helping my audience figure out. And then, yes,
we always want to give some kind of food idea and so that people, it's accessible to everybody.
So let's talk about the folvic molecule first. And the way I like to help people understand.
understand it is if you take your hand and you put it in a fist and that's the size of a cell in
your body, the tip of a pin, the head of a pin would be the size of a fulvic molecule. So it's extremely
small. Your fist is a cell. You've got about 137 to, excuse me, 37 to 150 trillion cells in
your body. And the fulvic molecule is much, much smaller than that.
a cell. Now, the beautiful thing about that is your body recognizes fulvic as a beneficial substance.
That means any cell that it bumps up against the cell goes, oh, that's fulic, let it in.
And then the fulic goes into your cell and it does a couple of things. The first thing it does
is deliver a bolus of minerals and nutrients that have been attached to its,
molecule. And the way it does that is by changing its polarity. So if you imagine having a magnet
and if you had a magnet, you've got some like metal things attached to it and you were able to turn
the magnet off, those things would fall off. And that's what happens. It changes its polarity and
it delivers nutrients and minerals into your cell. Now what it does is it travels around inside your
cell and it picks up bio-waste toxins, heavy metals, glyphosate that has gotten into your cell.
in that form of the glycine.
Remember your body thought the glyphosate was glycine?
It readily absorbed it through your intestinal tract
into your bloodstream and into your cell.
And now the folvic molecule grabs it.
It literally, it achilates to it.
And it gets attached.
You can't fool nature into thinking that it's glycine.
Exactly.
play. Isn't that awesome? Well, and this is the cool thing about humac and folic. There's,
there's so many, we're going to get into it because it's actually so cool. So it recognizes that
that's not glycine, that's glyphosate. It binds to it. And now it hits up against the cell membrane,
the cell membrane opens, and it carries that out. Then it changes its polarity again, and it
drops that in the bloodstream. So it's literally, and that's all it does all day. It goes in,
carrying nutrients in, gathering, carrying those bad things out, dropping them in the bloodstream.
This intercellular transporter greatly enhancing nutrient uptake and intercellular detox,
which is so important because what we know about our body is where does our body store
toxic substances in our fats? That's in our tissues in ourselves.
Yeah.
Right?
So we can actually get that out of those fat cells without having to lose all the weight as well,
which then also if you're losing weight, you are also releasing toxins into your system.
So this phobic is a great way to prepare your system first.
So intercellular movement, nutrients in, toxins out.
Do we know any other substance in nature that does that?
Like a lot of people talk about chlorella and chlorophyll, but this idea that it can change its polarity
to go into the cell to be able to pull the harmful stuff out, specifically glyphosate, is like
a freaking miracle.
Like we have no other, there's nothing else.
It's the only molecule on earth that does this, Mindy.
It's being studied by pharmaceutical companies as a delivery system.
It's being studied all around the world because of this.
capacity. And when you study it, what happens, you end up in quantum mechanics. You end up
talking about Higgs boson. I mean, it's a quantum particle. Wow. And they don't know how it does
what it does, because no other molecule does it. Do we have a list of chemicals that fulvick can
actually pull out other than glyphosate? Well, I have studies. I, um,
on nanoplastics, graphene oxide, some other viral detritus, free radicals, lead, mercury.
Those are probably the biggest ones on my list, as well as glyphosate.
That's crazy because when you think about it, we live in the most toxic time in human history.
And I keep saying to my audience and to our members and our Reset Academy that, like,
Like, we need a daily habit that we do to be able to pull these toxins out because every day
you're alive on this planet, it's becoming more and more toxic.
And so how is the body going to be able to get rid of all of this?
And it's fascinating, again, that nature has prepared us for this moment.
And that's what's so cool is, you know, you don't have to live in fear.
and you also don't have to constantly be going through these radical detox protocols that make you feel like crap.
If you constantly are giving your system the tools to do what it naturally can do, which is this intercellular detox.
Now, let's talk about humic.
And humic I call Mother Nature's janitor.
It literally is like the guy in the back who's, you know, just picking up the stuff and taking it out every night.
every day all the time. Okay. And so now let's go back to the, if your hand is a fist,
that is a glyphosate molecule and the head of a pin is your cell. So the glyphosate molecule is much
larger than a cell. And it hangs out in your bloodstream. There are some humic molecules,
not all, that can be absorbed through the lining of your gut into your bloodstream. But if they're
larger, they'll only stay in your gut. And it depends on different sources that you use for getting
humic that will determine that. But with the case of beam minerals, as an example, it will end up
in your bloodstream. So this large molecule, imagine it's like a Velcro ball. It's, you know,
it's got all this surface area. Imagine the surface of a sponge, incredible amounts of
surface area. Now, the interesting thing about the humic is it's called a poly electrolyte molecule.
Because on different areas of its surface, it can be positively charged or negatively charged.
Now, that's very interesting to have a single molecule that has different electrical charge
locations on its surface area. So that allows it to do several things.
We're going to get to the glyphosate in one moment, but it goes through your bloodstream and it picks up
bio-waste, toxins like the glyphosate, nanoplastics, graphene oxide, viral detritus, free radicals,
nanoplastics, senescent or zombie dead cells that are causing problems in your system.
it's incredible support to atophagy because all of those things are now ready to be removed and it's
ready there to grab those things whether they're positively charged or negatively charged it will
pick them up now the interesting thing about humic and this is why we call it in a factor is that
let's say you took a pill of potassium and you have a large concentration of potassium in your blood
that's throwing off your sodium potassium levels and in creating a challenge for your hydration
in your body. The glyphosate will actually chelate to that potassium all the way up till the point
that it creates balance in this local area and then it will stop. Now that is also another very,
very interesting aspect of this molecule that it has some capacity to understand what the pH level
in the local area is and how to affect it by grabbing and sequestering certain minerals that might
be affecting that pH. I was just thinking, like, we always talk about fulvic and humic as a pair.
Do they come from the same dirt? Isn't it an extraction from the same decomposed dirt?
So here's the interesting thing. Every humic molecule has some fulvic in it. And the folvic molecule is
actually, it's, if I've had people who are the, you know, real scientists who've studied this for 50 years
describe the humic molecule, and it's actually a spiral shape. And at the very tip of it, it has these
two prongs that come out. And those two prongs can actually enter a cell. And that is the fulvic
part of the molecule. And that's what you're, we are able to extract and separate the two. So you then
have fulvic molecule and a humic molecule.
And there are reasons to do that, which we can get into because they have different effects.
There are different kinds of effectors in your system.
Okay, let me ask you a personal question.
And this one is a really important one, which is when was the last time you had your vitamin
D checked?
And I'm saying this because in all my years of working with women, low vitamin D is one of the most
consistent findings I see and one of the most consistently missed and vitamin D matters for so many
aspects of your health. We're talking about a deficiency that can show up as hormonal imbalance,
mood struggles, poor sleep, immune issues, even stubborn weight that won't budge no matter what you do.
But here's the part that most people don't know. Taking an isolated D3 supplement isn't enough.
This isn't like just running down to the local store and grabbing some D3.
Your body actually needs D3 to be combined with very specific co-factors to actually absorb and utilize vitamin D the way nature intended it.
And most supplements on the market don't include these co-factors.
That's why I personally love Caterplex D from standard process.
It's a whole food supplement.
It's vitamin D complex, not just an.
isolated nutrient. There's an incredible difference between checking a box and actually moving the
needle on your health, and this one really moves the needle. In fact, in my clinic, we used to test
vitamin D, and we could see with a product like Cataplex D, we could see on lab work the vitamin D
levels and people go up. So you can learn more and you can get yourself some vitamin D. You can test out
Cataplex d at Dr. Mindy Pels.com.
Enjoy.
You know, I'm interested just so that we keep, we make sure that everybody has access to this.
I am interested on, are there naturally occurring ways to get fulvic and humic acid into
your body?
Certainly there are.
The most natural would be to, you could use something like Sheila Jeet, which is,
is a tari, tari substance that's used from rocks in comes from the Himalya region or peat,
which comes from the British Isles. It's a clumpy soil like substance. There's something
called terra preta from the from South America. There's another substance in the
Africa's. And then in North America, we have something called humate or Leonardo. And these
These come from below the earth, 10 to 12 feet or so.
And that's a black crystalline substance.
So you could, if you just want to get humic into you, you could literally take the natural
substance without having done anything else to it.
But you'd have to eat dirt is what it makes.
It's like, if you don't want to take the supplement, you got to dig into the earth
at the right spot and get it, is what I just heard.
Yeah.
Exactly.
You'd have to go find somewhere where there's a.
a place where you could get it. And then you'd have to know how much to take, which means you'd
really have to do a certificate of analysis of that particular deposit to know, you know,
because if you take a lot of it, you're probably going to have detox symptoms.
So it's extremely, extremely concentrated. And remember, minerals in concentration are toxic.
And it doesn't mean that they're all bad. It just means that it.
it's more than your ecosystem can handle at that time.
Yeah. Talk a little bit. I found it really interesting in your glyphosate presentation.
There was a pig and a chicken study when they introduced the fulvic and humic acid and the
behavior difference was fascinating to me. So talk a little bit about those studies because I found
them really interesting. Yeah. There's a really interesting thing about, and I'll
you the pig study, but years ago, I read a story about a man in Canada whose wife died of
bipolar. She took her own life. And then his son started to exhibit some symptoms of bipolar.
And he got really worried. And he was speaking to a farmer friend of his telling him about his son.
And his farmer said, you know, that sounds like my pigs when they don't get their minerals.
and he asked the farmer, well, what do you do for your pigs? And guess what he did? He gives them humic and fulvic.
Oh, fascinating. They ended up actually creating a product that's prescribable in Canada for bipolar.
And it's a humic and fulic supplement. So, but there's a study done with, there are actually multiple studies done on farm animals,
and particularly pigs.
And when they gave, so pigs in farming, they live in, you know, large groups in closed areas.
They're very close together.
And they struggle as naturally they would with being really aggressive.
They struggle with health overall.
If one gets sick, it gets passed really quickly.
So their immune systems become challenged.
And they also get wounded because they fight and they get pissed off.
at each other and then they get a wound and then it gets, you know, inflamed and infected, etc.
So when they gave, and the other thing we should recognize is that the food that these pigs are
getting is riddled with glyphosate. Oh, fascinating. Yep, of course it is. Unless you're eating pork
that is, you know, fed non-GMO grain, your, your pigs are probably,
dealing with even silage comes from cornfields that have had glyphosate sprayed on them,
et cetera. So you have to really think again about what's going in your mouth. But when they gave
those pigs the glyphosate, they experienced way fewer wounds and the wounds that they did get
healed much more quickly. They were generally healthier overall. And interestingly enough,
which they were not expecting, the pigs were way less aggressive. And
And they also finished at a much higher weight.
Yeah, I saw that.
So when they gave them the fulvick, the fulvick or the humic or both?
They actually used humic.
So remember when I said the fulvic is inside of the humic.
So they gave them actually more of a powdered, a powdered humic that was mixed in with their grain.
It wasn't a liquid fulvick or it was just the straight fulvick, probably a powder that they used.
It made me think when the pig and the aggression, I was thinking about, you know, A, children can become quite aggressive as they're learning to behave well, but some kids seem to be a little more aggressive than others.
And I'm thinking, I wonder if you gave your child this if it would calm them down.
And then I extrapolated it out like, huh, I feel like maybe we have some leaders of countries right now that we might need to be giving this to.
I mean, this is why I say, you know, mineral depletion is our biggest pandemic because mineral
depletion is causing so many mental health issues, physical issues, anxiety issues, mood disorders.
It's at the foundation.
I'm not saying it's causing it.
So I'm not, you know, all those people who are listening from that perspective.
I always say minerals don't heal anything, but they are the foundation for everything.
And if you don't have them, then everything else is harder.
There's a great story of a family contacted me.
Their granddaughter, who they had really close relationship and they loved very much,
they went to visit her.
And usually she was like, oh, grandma, grandpa, and they're so excited to see them
and come sit by me and all of that. And this girl was completely surly. She was like not giving them a
taste of her food. And she was, you know, she was just being like not somebody they recognized.
And the grandfather had just learned about minerals. And he was like, you know, maybe you should
try this beam minerals with her. And just while they were visiting, over four days, they gave her
the minerals and she completely changed and the mother had been like tearing her hair because she didn't
know what was going on with her lovely five-year-old daughter who was just usually this great kid and
suddenly turned into this surly you know person who was you know driving the house mad yeah that's
crazy you know one of the things that i try to do is teach people how to eat with more diversity so you know
we have a tendency to eat the same 30 foods over and over and over again.
And when I look at it from the microbes in the gut, that doesn't make sense.
You really want to expand the diversity of your food.
And so my old level of thinking was that would be enough also to get enough vitamins and minerals
because different foods are going to give you different vitamins and minerals.
And then I elevated that thought to, well, make sure it comes from an organic farm.
But when I'm listening to conversations like this, my brain is thinking that might not be enough anymore.
Like minerals were kind of this cute little thing that we thought about.
But after conversations like this, I think, wait a second, this needs to be at the forefront of every single health plan.
And it might be that you cannot get this in all of your foods.
It might be that this is one of those things.
You're going to have to supplement as much as I hate to say that.
Now, I realize full transparency that you are the founder of a mineral company, you know, that
Beam has been an incredible resource for that.
But have you seen anybody be able to accomplish a balanced mineral amount in their body without
using fulvic and humic from your lens?
And you see the people who are mineral deficient probably.
Yeah.
And, you know, I wrote a whole book about this because I really wanted people to get it.
And I am sorry to say that there is no way that you or me or some incredibly smart scientist or doctor or incredibly smart AI is going to be able to tell you the minerals that the levels and the ratios of.
minerals that you need, and different than I need or a two, you know, a six foot four triathlete or
a 70-year-old menopausal woman or a young woman who's just entering puberty or a child.
I mean, there's, there is absolutely no way.
And so, and that's what nature knew.
You know, nature knew there's no way I'm going to be able to know what this cell needs or
that cell or this cell, you know, an incredible diversity that we have.
So it did an interesting thing.
What it did, what nature did is it created these natural ratios.
Do you know that the ratios of minerals that your body needs is the same ratios that a California redwood tree needs?
Really?
Yeah.
Like all cells at the mitochondrial level, the mitochondrial level need basically the same ratios.
And those same ratios are reflected in the humic and folvic molecules.
And in your gut, the numbers of the ratios of receptor sites for different minerals is the same.
So, and it totally makes sense as above so below because it had to work ubiquitously.
So what I say is, you know, we want to be able to get all the food, all the nutrients from the foods we eat.
Now, our foods don't do that anymore.
But, you know, there's also been starvation and situations in nature where there weren't all the nutrients either, right?
So again, stulmic and folic came and provided that foundation, that very bottom foundation level by drinking from a stream or eating food from the ground where it was just like picking up, you know, the humus from the ground.
So now we've just disconnected ourselves from that loop by growing food, taking it over there,
washing it really well, eating it over there, never disposing of the waste far away from
where it was grown.
So we've just disconnected from the loop.
So it's so easy.
You use humic and fulvic.
You reconnect yourself to the loop, to that sustainable.
It's so interesting to me how everything we're looking for in health can be.
found in nature.
You know what I mean?
Yes.
This year, my audience has heard this.
I got really into surfing for the first time.
And within a couple of months of going out into the ocean, I started to see changes in
my brain.
And so I wanted to go and understand what was going on.
And there were like five or six different things that I could pinpoint.
And one of them was the fact that.
human blood has the same exact mineral balance as the ocean. And so I'm thinking even deeper in this
discussion. And at the time I was like, what? Like I had to read that three or four times. I'm like,
the ocean water has the same balance as human blood. Who created that? That is incredible.
And now I'm thinking, nature did even one step further. It decided to take
the decomposition of plants and turn it into this miracle mineral that can help us on so many levels.
It's almost like we can destroy nature, but nature keeps seeming to come back and provide for us
on a health level. Yeah. It's such a beautiful thing. I love that. You know, our bloodstream is the
oceans and our gastrointestinal tract is like the rivers and streams. It's a freshwater system.
So it's, it just, it works, you know, we're an ecosystem. We're an ecosystem just like the Earth.
We are. We're actually part of the Earth's ecosystem. And we're not separate from it.
We're actually part of its health. Talk a little bit about your book because it's interesting.
I've been really emphasizing to my following that we really need to start.
to go back to long format as a way to receive information.
And so this means podcasts, you know, longer videos and books.
I mean, books are, you can tell so much more, you can get so much more out of books
that you can't get out of even an hour-long podcast.
So talk a little bit about if people are intrigued by what they're hearing here,
they want to understand it on a personal level.
Talk to me a little bit about what's in your book and what people.
people can find and how it would benefit them. Yeah. You know, what I did with the book is I wanted to
help people go on the journey that I went on because I'm not a scientist and I'm not a practitioner
and I don't even know how smart I am, but I'm very curious. And as I went down the rabbit hole of
learning about minerals, I realized how important the information was and I had these sets of
aha moments. And so the book is really structured in that way. It helps you walk through the aha
moments that I had so you can connect the dots. And then it takes you through a process where you can
reference any particular health issue, chronic health issue you might have and how minerals
could help you. It also, there's a whole buyer's guide for if you want to go on a mineral
replenishment journey, what should you look for, how you should determine what mineral source and
what mineral format will work best for you.
Then there's a whole mineral reset program at the end that you can go through to actually
really start at the beginning, find out where you are, be able to recognize where you want to
impact your system and how to impact it over time and track that progress.
When we sell the book, you're also doing it.
Yeah, it's really, I tell you, I really think it's a useful,
tool. Also, if you really do like to geek out and go deeper, there's a lot of, there's, I think,
40 pages of citations. So there's a lot of scientific data if you want to get into that more
deeply. I'm also going to be doing a mineral reset book in our program for people who want to really
have an opportunity to walk through the program with help and with live Q&A, et cetera. And we'll be doing that
after the book launches. So my dream, Mindy, is to provide this foundational information to people.
So the first thing that they think of when they start on their health journey is, how am I going to get my minerals in?
Yeah. It's such a perfect entry in to a health journey because what most people do on a health journey is,
how do I make the symptom go away? How do I lose weight? And then they get overwhelmed with all.
the information. And I love the way you stated that because it is true, the little steps in.
My big comment that I always say to people is you don't need motivation, you need momentum.
So if you start to go, if your health journey in is minerals and you follow your recommendations
from the book, like you're going to get some momentum that's going to want you to now you're going
to be able to work out or you're going to be able to fast. And just for listeners that maybe don't know,
this, we recommend beam minerals all the time to people in their fasting window. It's a phenomenal
tool to kill hunger, to avoid detox, to give some energy. If you really want to know what these
fulvic and humic acid compounds do, try them in a fasted state or on a longer fast, and it's
better than food. You'll see what you're not getting in your food. But I think we have health
really turned around where we want we're wanting a journey to get the outcome and then we get tossed
around in that and really what what you said in that comment really really hit with me which is
start with the simple and if minerals is your door in i think that is beautiful so thank you for
for stating that so clearly and of course you wrote the forward for the book so everyone can enjoy that
as well thank you so much for doing that indy yeah thank you yeah thank you
Yeah, you know what, anybody I can, any book I can endorse that I know is going to move people's health forward, I am all in on.
So where do people find the book and how do they access you?
And if they do want to buy bean minerals, we'll leave links and stuff in the notes.
But my hope is that people are curious and want to dive more into finding out what's best for them.
So where do they, how do they come stock you?
Yeah, and to get glyphosate out of their body on a daily basis.
Exactly.
Great tool.
Great way to learn about it.
So for the book, you can go to mineral resetbook.com.
That's mineral resetbook.com.
And you'll be able to find out all about how to get the book and how to also join
us on the bookinar if that interests you.
You can find me on Instagram at Caroline Allen.
official or on the web at caroline allen.com and of course you can go to beamminerals.com and
Mindy will provide her discount code in the show notes so that you can get 20% off if you'd like
to try that. I always recommend the foundational tool of the advanced set. It's two products
electrolyze and microboosts, the humic and the fulvic products. It's just, it's so
easy to take tastes like water you just drink it every day every single day to provide that foundation
that's what i mine sit right by my coffee maker and i do i do a shot in the morning and then the
the darker one the micro boost at night you taught me to do that one um at night and um yeah and i
notice a difference when i run out of it i'm like oh gosh i'm my energy's a little low brain fogs a little up
and then I go and get it and boom, there it's back again.
And it doesn't taste like anything.
It's inexpensive.
Like it's just a win-win.
So I appreciate you, you know, creating that product.
But more importantly, what I'm hoping people will dive into is your book so that they can
understand minerals and never take their eye off minerals again for their health.
So thank you for writing the book as well.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Thanks so much for letting people know about it.
it too. It's truly a life-changing potential for people. Yeah, agreed, agreed. Well, we will leave
links for everybody. And any final thoughts? Things that you, you know, I always think with a book,
I always have to ask authors, like, what do you hoping the world will do with this book?
You know what I'm hoping people will do is I hope they read at least 30 pages of it.
Of course, I'd love everybody to read all the books.
I know I'm probably the worst culprit.
I get a book and I read 20 pages and then I'm like, I'll finish that later.
But even if you read 30 pages of the mineral reset, it could seriously change your life.
So I really hope, and I hope people will join us on the book in our series.
I think it's going to be really fun and interesting.
Thank you so much for having me, Mindy.
Yeah, Caroline, I love you.
I mean, yeah, I always get reinvigorated.
After I talk to you, I'm like, I got to go get my bean minerals now.
Like there's just something that it's like one of those things that's so easy to forget
and so powerful to of an effect.
So it's really important that we keep having these conversations.
So thank you.
I really appreciate it.
It is.
Thank you.
Thank you so much for joining me in today's episode.
I love bringing thoughtful discussions.
about all things health to you.
If you enjoyed it, we'd love to know about it,
so please leave us a review,
