Starting point is 00:00:51 The very first recruit in the class of 2020, Deuce Hogan, quarterback out of Grapevine Faith Christian High School in Texas. He's going to be on the show today talking to us about his recruitment process, what it means to be an Iowa Hawkeye, and what he's most excited about coming up in his senior year of football and when he gets to join the Iowa Hawkeyes in Iowa City after he graduates from high school next year. So we're going to be giving you that interview here in a few moments, but I do have a few housekeeping items to share with you. Starting point is 00:02:00 of the big universities in the state of Iowa coming together to play in the basketball tournament, the $2 million winner-take-all tournament. Matthew Crawford is combining all four schools. So far, he's announced Tyrus McGee. He's announced Josh Young, Reed Timmer, Nicholas Bayer, and Wes Washpin. So this team is going to be very exciting. If you want to tune into that episode, it is from Sunday morning. into that episode. It is from Sunday morning, and we talk a lot about the process of creating this team, what it takes to get into the tournament, and how you as fans of these programs can help
Starting point is 00:02:29 this team get into the $2 million winner-take-all tournament. That being said, though, let's jump right into our interview. I want to share, obviously, some fantastic stuff we talked about with Deuce. You're going to love it, so let's get going on it right now. We have a very special guest today. I am joined here by Deuce Hogan, a four-star quarterback, and I believe the number one ranked pro-style quarterback in the state of Texas for the class of 2020. Hogan is heading into his senior year at Grapevine Faith Christian High School. After that, he will be joining Swarm 2020 and heading to the University of Iowa's campus in Iowa City. Deuce, how you doing, my man? I'm glad you're on here today.
Starting point is 00:03:03 Yes, sir. Thanks for having me. I'm doing well. Awesome. How's your day going? Obviously, it's not football season right now, so what are you up to during your offseason? Yeah, so we're full-blown offseason right now. We're lifting three days a week after school, and in the period, we're starting to get wrapped on air, going a little one-on-one, then lots of night drills, you know, the dirty work. Absolutely, man. I mean, the stuff you do in the offseasonones and lots of mat drills, you know, the dirty work. Absolutely, man. I mean, the stuff you do in the offseason, it was make or break your regular season, buddy. Yes, sir. Yes, sir.
Starting point is 00:03:30 And how do you think you're going to do this regular season? Obviously, your team was undefeated for a while last year. How do you think your team is set up for this upcoming season? I think that we are going to start just as well as we did last year and hopefully go a little bit further. In the district, we went into the playoffs with one loss last year.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Kind of a flaky loss. One of those nights where nothing goes our way. Yep, I get that. We're definitely anxious to get back and redeem ourselves for that game. We're going to go into the playoffs unbeaten. Absolutely, man. I'm assuming a Texas State championship is on your mind, am I right?
Starting point is 00:04:09 Yes, sir. Nothing less. Awesome. I love it. And so with high school football obviously going on, you still have a year left. You're already committed to the Hawks. And, in fact, I believe you were the first commit in the class of 2020. What is that, and how does that really work for you? Obviously, you have high school football, but you're looking forward, I'm assuming,
Starting point is 00:04:24 to playing for the Iowa Hawkeyes. How do you balance that in your mind? Well, you know, being the first to commit in a class was cool. And I had a lot of confidence in that decision. And, you know, I don't think I would have committed early if I wasn't sure. So there's definitely that kind of sense of stability. And I've been able to kind of use it to my advantage in terms of recruiting, reaching out to the future hogs I'll have in front of me and some skilled guys. I think
Starting point is 00:04:51 right now we're in the top 10 class in the country for 2020. I think it's given me a good platform to try to build and get some guys around me. Absolutely. That was actually one of the things I wanted to talk to you about because you're very active on Twitter. I see you talking to all sorts of recruits whenever they release their top 10 and stuff like that. What does that mean for you? I think kind of being the first recruit in the class, being that quarterback in the class,
Starting point is 00:05:16 you've been doing a fantastic job of trying to recruit other future Hawkeyes. How has that process been for you? Have you been getting pretty good reception from other folks and other players? Oh, yes, sir. I would say absolutely. I think, you know, Iowa is, you know, just a consistent program. They're always up there, always, you know, scoring points on people and stopping people that they shouldn't, you know, always hang with.
Starting point is 00:05:39 So, you know, just the consistency is always really attractive. So that's something I'm able to market. And then secondly, you know, it only takes a few guys to get some momentum in the class. And the recruits start to look around and they can start to do something special. And then I would say lastly, you know, me being the quarterback, you know, I'm a leader. I take that title. And I can kind of use the classic Hawkeye defense um just solid putting guys in the NFL turning guys that are not genetically the best out of the room just making
Starting point is 00:06:12 them you know all pros and then I can't even tell you how much you know having TJ Hawkinson and you know how that allows me to recruit tight ends you know absolutely guys Absolutely. Two guys that are going to be first-rounders. Absolutely. Well, I mean, I've got to be honest here, man. I don't know. Obviously, I haven't talked to you before this time, and that answer was almost spot-on and absolutely perfect. I mean, it sounds like you understand what it means to be an Iowa Hawkeye.
Starting point is 00:06:37 You understand that it means to work your tail off. And, you know, you're not going to always get, like you said, the most genetically gifted players, but you're going to get people who are going to work their butts off and make it to the NFL if you buy into you know the Hawkeye way and and to Chris Doyle's training and to Kirk Ference's system and stuff so I I absolutely love that and in fact there's actually a tight end that's pretty close by to you in the the Dallas area Elijah Yelverton have you been reaching out to him at all absolutely yeah I talk with Elijah probably
Starting point is 00:07:05 once every week, once every two weeks, just trying to give him some food for thought, stay on top of his mind. And I think that Elijah's an awesome kid. He's an absolute stud on the field, and so I think that from his perspective, it's kind of, as cool as it is to get caught up
Starting point is 00:07:22 in all the clout that comes along with recruiting, something's got to separate one school from another. So everyone's going to have huge stadiums. Everyone's going to have cool jerseys. But, you know, to be able to say that you've got two first-round tight ends this year, that you've got the highest-paid strength and conditioning coach in the entire country, that's, you know, as a recruit, the clout only goes so far. And so that's kind of what I've been trying to advertise to Elijah.
Starting point is 00:07:47 I mean, if he's trying to play in a league, this could be the next step. And that's – I mean, that's – despite there could be other schools around the country where he could probably catch for more yards, maybe, maybe not, because they might throw the football more. But if you're trying to get to the next level, I think Iowa's just a perfect tunnel straight to the NFL. Man, you've got that recruiting pitch down, Pat. I mean, if only
Starting point is 00:08:09 the Hawks could pay you to do the recruiting, you'd be doing a pretty darn good job, man. I'm impressed. That was a pretty good answer and I think you would appreciate this, too. I don't know if you saw the tweet that Michigan put out saying they are the tight end U. I think that got a lot of clap back from Iowa Hawkeye fans all over.
Starting point is 00:08:26 And one of the things that I do appreciate about your act of Twitter-ness is the fact that you have no problem clapping back at all sorts of fans from all sorts of universities. Do you enjoy that? Do you enjoy the interactions with other teams' fans? I mean, obviously, you know, Twitter can be a weird melting pot of fun, stupid, exciting, funny, and I think you do a pretty good job of handling that. What has kind of been your take on Twitter and dealing with, you know, Nebraska fans or Wisconsin fans
Starting point is 00:08:54 or what have you dealing, you know, talking to you? Yes, sir. Yes, sir. So, if you go back and look, you'll notice that I never start anything. I'm never going to reach out to another fan base, and you'll never see me negatively talk about another program. That's one thing that I always have kept in mind, and I know kind of how to recruit, how unattractive it was when a coach would back talk another program. So let the fans defend their school, you know? But for me, my argument is always productivity,
Starting point is 00:09:25 right? You gotta see what wins, you gotta see who wins, you gotta see, you can say you're tied in U, but we got first, we got two kids going in the first round, we got,
Starting point is 00:09:33 I mean, just traditionally incredible, George Kittle broke all sorts of records this year. So for me, like, it's kind of funny to sit back and give an opinion and I can give a fact, you know?
Starting point is 00:09:43 So I enjoy it, it's a good time, but, you know, I'm never there to bash another university or another player or coach. Absolutely, man. The more and more we talk, I'm getting more and more impressed with you, buddy. I definitely think that's another great answer, especially about the Twitter stuff. You don't want to get too involved. I think it's easy to let that kind of consume your life.
Starting point is 00:10:00 But you're doing a fantastic job, I think, of pointing out the facts, as you like to put it, and letting people know just exactly what kind of University of Iowa is. So, kind of, you know, in that line, and kind of with the season Iowa had, how excited were you as the Hawkeyes kind of progressed throughout the season? Obviously, they went through a, you know, kind of a tough three-game stretch, but bounced back and then had a huge win in the Outback Bowl against Mississippi State. Kind of, what was your thought process, you thought process as you were watching the season unfold?
Starting point is 00:10:27 It was really cool for me. This was their first season while I was committed. But for me, I'm from Texas, and I've run up my whole life kind of rooting for the South, rooting for certain quarterbacks, rooting for tall, lanky kids. I've never had a school. Both my parents are at the small universities, so I've never had a die-hard school.
Starting point is 00:10:49 But this year, I was glued to the TV on every game. I was just going nuts when we hit the walk-off field goal against Nebraska. It was awesome. It was my first time to be just heart-wrapped around a school. And then to see how close we were to having something super, super incredible. I actually came away encouraged. And we'll have guys back and we'll have Nate back. So it was cool.
Starting point is 00:11:16 And then, of course, to beat a traditionally good SEC team, come out and whip up on them, that was cool. And, you know, all the guys around me, I'm from Texas, so Iowa has never been like a talk of the town around here. But all my buddies, all my school, you know, people text me, like, who did the Hawks, you know? So it was fun, you know, for the first time ever at my school. Absolutely, man.
Starting point is 00:11:37 That's exciting. And really, you talked about the fact that you didn't really grow up liking a specific school. You are in, you know, football country. I mean, the state of Texas is known around the entire United States as the place for high school, for college football. So, you know, if you grew up not really rooting for a specific team, what are some of the players that you remember rooting for as you were growing up?
Starting point is 00:11:56 And do you have a favorite professional team by chance? Okay, so growing up, I mean, super early, I remember the Sam Bradford-Cole McCoy duels. Yes. I loved Tebow, just how passionate I was about his faith. That was always super inspiring to me. Now, I'll tell you, style's a little different, but his passion and just his love for the Lord, that's awesome to me. his love for the Lord, that's awesome to me. And then I remember, I've never been, you know, rooting for the West Coast, but watching Jared Goff was cool when he was a Cal.
Starting point is 00:12:32 And yeah, you know, and then, you know, professionally, I'm a Cowboys fan. I'm a diehard Cowboys fan. So there you go. I love it, man. So have you ever, this can be kind of a random tangent here, but have you ever heard of a mud drag? Say that again? A mud drag? M-U-D
Starting point is 00:12:46 drag? I don't think so. So I'm from Iowa and I think you got to get used to a little bit about Iowa culture, right? Some interesting things that you can do in small towns in Iowa. And growing up, my father, my stepfather raced in what we call mud drags and they are a quarter mile strip of just mud and you just race against another truck right so he was actually a a huge Dallas Cowboy fan and his truck was legitimately painted gray and blue had the star on it and everything the shed at our home had a a big Dallas Cowboy star on it so I get the I get the Dallas Cowboy fandom man yeah it's awesome and that is uh that is something that's never changed here. You get grandparents, cousins, aunts, uncles, neighbors.
Starting point is 00:13:30 We're kind of all on the same page here. When it's Sunday, we're usually all in one house, doors open, put lots of food around, and I've been doing that for as long as I can remember. I love it. And that's actually, you know, the good thing about Iowa, man, there's no pro team. So that's literally how people feel about the Iowa Hawkeyes, buddy. I mean, everyone is, every Saturday of college football season, people plan their weddings around college football season. My best friend, he legitimately said we cannot get married on any of these 12 Saturdays because of Iowa Hawkeye football and no one, you know, his whole family went to Iowa. They tailgate every single game. And he knew if he planned his wedding on that day, A, he wouldn't even want to be at his own wedding because he has season tickets.
Starting point is 00:14:11 And B, none of his friends and family would have came to it. So it's very similar in Iowa, man. Yes, sir. So quick question for you. You talked a little bit about your play style and you talked about how you're obviously not like Tim Tebow. You are a pro-style quarterback. I saw there was a reported 40- dash time of 4.87 you know what do you bring
Starting point is 00:14:29 as a quarterback obviously you're you know what six foot four am I accurate on that yes there's six three and three fourths but I like to say six four it's easier to say it has a nice ring to it you know so what do you bring at the quarterback position? What do you think you're going to bring to the Iowa Hawkeyes in the class of 2020? So first, I think one of the biggest things and kind of something that's hard to judge, you kind of got to see in action, is just the ability to lead. And I've always been taught that leadership is defined by one word, and that's influence. And my whole life, I feel like I've always stepped into that leadership is defined by one word, and that's influence. And my whole life, I feel like I've always stepped into whatever situation I'm in and had the ability to influence,
Starting point is 00:15:10 get a lot of people pulling the rope in the same direction. And I think that sometimes you'll come in with guys that can run four-fives and throw the ball 85 yards, and they can't get anyone doing the same thing on the same page. So one thing I take a lot of pride in is just my ability to get a group of men going the same way. And then secondly, I just like to – one of my favorite things about football is the mind game.
Starting point is 00:15:33 It's a chess game. So I love making a DC wrong. I love when the Mike Linebacker audibles and I know exactly what he's doing and I get to smile at him before the play. That kind of stuff's my favorite. That's why I love football. Obviously, you know, I'm confident. I know I can make every throw on the field.
Starting point is 00:15:56 And if need be, I could, you know, do stuff with my legs. But, you know, I've said this a lot over this phone call. You know, the goal is the NFL. And I'm not going to do that scurrying around. So, yeah, I'm in the pocket to beat you with my arm and get it played in between your ears. Absolutely, man. So I'm assuming you are incredibly excited to play under Brian Ferentz and obviously his background with Bill Belichick and the Patriots.
Starting point is 00:16:17 Was that a big selling point for you in terms of playing D1 football, the ability to play under an actual pro offense that features two tight ends and is very reminiscent of the relatively standard NFL packages we see today? Yeah, that was huge for me. Profile offense was up there with the type of coaches you are, the type of people you are, the type of culture your program is. Profile offense was huge, and it's not because i can't play um in something else it's because it's what translates exactly um and that and for me honestly i think that that's why to this day i think the big 10 you know sec big 10 are both the purest forms of
Starting point is 00:16:58 football so you still get you know just just teeth-gritting defense and pro-style offense. So that was really attractive to me. And then not only to be in a pro-style offense, but to have Coach Fennard's history as the background he has, just the offensive mastermind he is, that was really cool. Absolutely, man. I mean, I think you're hitting the nail right on the head. I think Iowa gives you a really good chance. Just as a lot of other Big Ten schools do as well.
Starting point is 00:17:23 I mean, you look at Wisconsin or Michigan, they still run a lot of that pro-style offense you know translates very well to the nfl so i think you're absolutely absolutely right you look at the pac-12 and it's it truly is a different kind of football even the big 12 i mean they have a lot of athletes a lot of talent there but it's not the same as the big 10 or the sec obviously the sec are going to get probably some little better athletes but still so quick, walk me through the recruiting process. Obviously, like we talked about earlier, you committed to Iowa very early on. You've been committed now for, I want to say, almost a year. Is that correct? And by the time you join Iowa City, you'll be committed for almost two years. So what was that recruitment process like? When did you first hear from Iowa? And
Starting point is 00:18:04 obviously, you talked a little bit about some of the selling points, but what were some of the What was that recruitment process like? When did you first hear from Iowa? Obviously, you talked a little bit about some of the selling points, but what were some of the things that really made you feel like Iowa City could be home for the next three, four, five years? Yes, sir. Recruiting kind of blew up last spring. We had one school come out and watch me throw to my receivers in a second period throwing session and that school was Louisiana Tech and they you know I mean I never forget it he pulled me running back my lead paper
Starting point is 00:18:38 and my tie band Hilton Harris he pulled us over and was sitting there talking to us and it was just stuff you know I had heard from camp. We loved to teach on campus, loved to get you in front of our head coach, just that and the other. So in my head, I was like, okay, this is another one of their spiels. All right, cool. And so he's like, all right, good to meet you. So he shook our hand, and so I started to walk off,
Starting point is 00:19:00 and he was like, hey, dude, come here. So he put his arm around me. And this was really cool. My dad was right beside me. I was on my own home turf, and he starts to walk up to me, and he's like, I just want to let you know that you have his offer on me. And this was really cool. You know, my dad was right beside me. I was on my own home turf and he starts to walk home with me and he's like, I just want to let you know
Starting point is 00:19:08 that you have an offer to play at Louisiana Tech University, this, that, and the other. And I remember him saying like super casual and just my heart just stopping.
Starting point is 00:19:17 Like, I just wanted to like start yelling to remember down like my first scholarship offer. And then things really started
Starting point is 00:19:23 rolling for me. So, someone else else offered the following week, and I think my third offer was Oklahoma State. And these were all coming from colleges coming to my field and watching me throw to guys that grade my face. You know, just going through every – kind of going through the route tree, taking five-step, seven-step drops, coming off play action.
Starting point is 00:19:48 So it's what they wanted to see. And, you know, about five, probably three weeks into spring, four weeks into spring, every Tuesday and Thursday, we'd walk out on the field and there'd be about seven, eight, nine college coaches there. And it was really cool. We came out to combine all the time.
Starting point is 00:20:01 And it really, I think it was cool. It allowed my guys to get some exposure, too. Guys, you know, that kind of fly under the radar absolutely so that's kind of how it blew up and uh coach actually came out for one of those and watched me throw and uh you know knowing how traditional iowa is and you'll never you know get too crazy excited about anything um he just shook my hand real calmly and told me i did well. And I walked off, and I was like, okay, well, there you go. And I want to say a few days later, I was actually in Mandarin Chinese class, and my mom pulled me out of class, Mom and Dad, and Pedro Keith was on the phone, and he offered me a scholarship.
Starting point is 00:20:37 You know, that's just such a blessing. So that's kind of how the recruiting was. And then I kind of talked about this in my video as to why i chose iowa it was um the people um it was the culture is you know first style offense um but when you travel the country like i did this last summer and get a real feel for kind of who everybody is um a lot of things can start to run together, and that's how it was for me. And I stepped onto the campus at the University of Iowa and just had a God-given peace.
Starting point is 00:21:11 Just the ability to take a breath and know that every thought that I could make out in the chat and in the training process with coaches, like, you know, what's up, the biggest studio and the best receiver in the country? You know, like, that's not what I wanted to hear. But when Coach Ferentz was like, you know, we're not the biggest studio, we're the best studio in the country. You know, like, that's not what I wanted to hear. But when Coach Ferentz was like,
Starting point is 00:21:27 he said, you're our guy, we love you to death, and we're going to do something special. And if not, we wish you the best of luck. That was so genuine to me and so refreshing that for me, I left, I got in the car, and I was like, this is it. And so, yeah, it was awesome. Man, I got chills listening to that story.
Starting point is 00:21:46 I love the Louisiana Tech thing, and I can only imagine the excitement to that. The one question I have from that, and it's kind of off the wall here, but was it hard to go back to Mandarin Chinese class after getting the offer from Iowa? I couldn't take a quiz. I could barely speak English, much less Chinese. I was like, man, thank God. I was working good stuff. Oh, man, that's too good. Also, man. I'll show you good stuff.
Starting point is 00:22:05 Oh, man. That's too good. Also, I've got to ask you real quick. Is Mandarin Chinese as hard to learn as it seems like it is? Because I tried one time, and I couldn't figure out anything. Yeah, it is no easy task. But it's always a good time. I've got a bunch of buddies in there.
Starting point is 00:22:25 And I won't have to take Swahili at the university. There are some perks to it. Yeah, absolutely, man. So getting into it, I just have a couple more questions. Obviously, like we talked about earlier, I don't want to keep you on the phone too long. It's a school night and all that fun stuff. What is your plan when you head to the University of Iowa? Are you planning on majoring in something specific,
Starting point is 00:22:40 or are you going to kind of feel it out right now? What is kind of your goal? So they've actually done this thing, I forget what it's called, but it's basically a year where you get to choose your major. Yep. If you're not 100% sure what you want to do. So, you know, right now I'm 18 years old. I know I want to play for as long as I can play.
Starting point is 00:23:01 Yep. And as soon as that's over, I would love to just my my passion is people um I love speaking I love traveling I love um yeah you know it just happens so that my stage oftentimes is football field but um I would love to you know go into some sort of coaching going for a casting afterwards so I don't really know what degree to correspond with that so I know my first year maybe possibly first first two to three semesters would be through a program where I'm kind of getting to decide my major. Makes sense, man.
Starting point is 00:23:31 I mean, you don't want to make a decision too early. When I went to school, I changed my major three times in the first two weeks. My wife changed her major two years later. So you want to make sure you know what you're going to do before you actually commit to doing it. So I wholeheartedly support that, man. And two other questions for you. And this one, I'll give you the tough one first and the easy one second. But obviously you know and you're kind of following the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Starting point is 00:23:57 They usually recruit a quarterback every single class, right? And right now you have Peyton Manziel, you have Spencer Petras, and you have Alex Padilla there. Are you excited to go in and compete with them? Oh, yes, I'm pumped. I'm amped, and it's fuel on the fire every day. I haven't necessarily competed for a job since my freshman year, coming into high school.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Since then, I've kind of had that title. But I'm not anxious to not write the words. I'm excited to go on campus. And, yeah, it's definitely kind of a fire in the back of my mind because, you know, for the first time in basically my whole career, I'm going to step on campus and be a little fish in a big pond. Yeah, man, you're not going to be the guy. But I love the competitive spirit.
Starting point is 00:24:42 Yes, sir. You're a competitor through and through, man. And last question here, and maybe this isn't so easy the more I think about it, but have you given any thought about enrolling early next year on campus? And I know it's a long ways off. It's just kind of a hot topic, especially considering Iowa typically doesn't – I think they do a really good job of stressing to not enroll early if you're not ready to enroll early.
Starting point is 00:25:03 So have you given it any thought? Do you know kind of what your plan is? Yes, sir. I've given it a lot of thought, and I've actually already kind of made my decision. I will not be early enrolling, and that's for a couple reasons. First of all, it would be hard to anyway, considering I'm coming out of a small private school
Starting point is 00:25:20 that's never had an early enrollee. So the whole process of summer classes can be hard. Secondly, for me, it's kind of going to be sentimental leaving where I'm at. The home I've been in for 11 years, and I'm not going to get to watch my little brother play high school football games. So an extra two or three months means everything to me with him, with my mom and my dad, because pretty soon I'm going to be a lot of miles away. So I don't think I'll have any problem jumping into school, jumping into learning an
Starting point is 00:25:48 offensive system. I'm excited for all that. But I'm definitely going to do everything I can to get every minute with my family. Man, I love that answer. I think you're obviously thinking with the right mindset there. It makes a lot of sense. I mean, like you said, you don't want to rush anything. You have the next three, four, five years in Iowa City to play football for the Iowa Hawkeyes, and you want to spend as um you have the next three four or five years in iowa
Starting point is 00:26:05 city to play football for the iowa hawkeyes and you want to spend as much time with your family as you possibly can and i think obviously the the iowa hawkeye coaching staff 100 supports that i absolutely love that man well hey man is there anything else you want to say before we you know jump off the uh the podcast for today i mean obviously i definitely appreciate you jumping on the show i appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day. So anything you want to add real quick? I just, you know, thank you for your time.
Starting point is 00:26:29 Thanks for having me. And to all the Hawkeye fans that hear this, you guys are the best. You know, blowing me up on Twitter like y'all do, blowing recruits up, that stuff works.
Starting point is 00:26:37 It gets in the minds of people, so y'all keep doing your thing. Heck yeah, man. I love it. Well, Deuce, have a great night, buddy, and we will talk to you later, bud.
Starting point is 00:26:44 All right, thank you. Have a blessed day. You too. Bye. I love it. Well, Deuce, have a great night, buddy, and we will talk to you later, bud. All right. Thank you. Have a blessed day. You too. Bye. And that'll conclude our Wednesday morning episode, our interview with Deuce Hogan. A big shout out to Deuce again for jumping on the podcast. Really appreciate him taking the time out of his incredibly busy schedule, as he told
Starting point is 00:26:58 you on the interview. You know, he's not in the middle of football season right now, but he's doing all the work that's necessary. You know, he's putting in all those hours to get ready for football season coming up here in a few short months. So again, a big thank you to him for jumping on the show. Really appreciate him taking the time out of his day talking to us, talking about his experience in terms of recruiting, talking about his senior year of football coming up,
Starting point is 00:27:19 kind of what he expects to do in his senior year, and talking about what it means to be an Iowa Hawkeye and to be a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. I think, you know, personally, this kid is going to be fantastic in a black and gold uniform playing under Kirk Ferentz. I think he's the perfect prototypical quarterback for this offense, you know, standing at 6'4", pocket passer. I'm really excited to see what he can do. But like I said, that'll do it for our Wednesday morning episode. We will try to get Deuce back on the show show maybe a little bit before he jumps into his career with the Iowa Hawkeyes after his senior season, maybe a little bit after recruiting period and whatnot. So we'll try to do that as well. Again, if you have not subscribed or liked our podcast, please do that. Do it wherever you've gotten your
