I thank God I was born on the good arms of the Midwest, and not on the battlefields of
the U.S.
It's a time of panic, and it's intercepted!
It's picked off right away!
Intercepted by Marty Hooker!
Pick six!
Eight seconds into the game!
Buffen sets up deep in the pocket, goes down the field for Smith!
Oh!
He's got it!
Smith!
Touchdown.
85 yards.
High on.
Touchdown, 10.
Taking a shot in the end zone.
It is caught.
No offense.
Touchdown.
That's either one or you have it.
Go ahead and three.
Yes.
Two-point lead for the Hawkeyes.
Welcome back, Hawkeye Nation, to another episode of the Locked On Hawkeyes podcast,
your daily podcast covering your Iowa Hawkeyes on the Locked On Sports Network.
As always, I am your host, Andrew Wade, and today's episode is brought to you by Bilt Bar.
Go to BiltBar.com and use promo code LOCKON, and you'll get $10 off your next order.
And as a continuation of yesterday's show, we are bringing you part two of our interview with Frank Garza.
If you loved yesterday's episode, you're going to love today's episode.
If you didn't get a chance to listen to yesterday's episode, which was part one of our interview with Frank,
I highly recommend you checking that out. I thought it was a great conversation and discussion on balancing the
acts of being a father, being a friend, and being a coach. And we started touching a little bit on
Iowa basketball and kind of the development they went through over the last couple years.
On today's episode, we dive a little bit deeper into some of the decisions about Luka coming back,
specifically how the players that are surrounding Luka were such a big influence for him.
Talked a little bit about the turning point of this Iowa basketball team in that Tennessee game
where Tyler Cook just went off in that second half.
And then we finish up by talking about the mental aspect of the game and more specifically getting into one of Frank Garza's passions, Let the Peacock Fly, that does have, you know, provide proceeds do go to providing a scholarship for teachers to go to a conference and also providing programs for youth to sign up in the Elevate program. So make sure to check out Let the Peacock Fly as well.
That'll be a great opportunity, and they have some really great designs on there.
But I'll let Frank tell you all about it.
Obviously, he has the inside scoop on it, but it's letthepeacockfly.com.
So make sure to check that out as well.
Before we jump into the Frank interview, though, just a few quick notes I want to make sure you all are aware of,
because a lot has been happening over the last couple of days in the Big Ten.
First and foremost, there is a guy on Twitter, you've probably seen some of his inside source statements,
saying the Big Ten's going to start football again, saying that Kevin Warren might be pushed out as president.
Here's what I'll say about that um i am i don't have an inside source i don't know who his inside source is
this is not a reputable site not saying that you need to have a reputable site to have an inside
source but i will i'm taking everything he's saying with a grain of salt at this point if he
happens to be right that's awesome great for him it'll give him a lot of salt at this point if he happens to be right that's awesome great for him it'll
give him a lot of credibility at this point though there's so much information kind of just being out
there and there's not a lot of stuff being said by the big 10 so who kind of knows what's going on
and i haven't seen any of our main iowa sources confirm that information so i just take everything
with a grain of salt um don't let your hopes get up too much until something actually happens.
But we will see.
I know it sounds like parents of the players are going to the Big Ten office on Friday
to get a meeting with Kevin Warren.
They just want to know what's going on.
They want answers because the Big Ten has been remarkably quiet during this interesting time,
not giving a single ounce of information.
So we'll see what happens from that.
Also, rivals released their top 25.
One of Iowa's recruits, Aaron Graves, began in that top 25 as the number 91 player in
the nation.
So really awesome to see that.
He was one of the youngest recruits in the Kirk Ferentz era.
He committed very quickly and obviously a very talented player,
a guy who we didn't know a ton about,
considering I believe he was just a freshman when he accepted his offer.
But it sounds like he has a very bright future ahead of him.
We'll have shows also coming out tomorrow and Friday, so stay tuned for that.
But that being said, if you do like this episode,
make sure to like, review, and subscribe.
Give us that five-star review.

Let's hop into that interview with Frank for part two. I've grown up an Iowa football fan. I love
all Iowa sports, but, you know, it's been football first and foremost, and I think for the first time
over the last two years, and I'll explain kind of why, but it's, it's turned to loving Iowa basketball first.
And that might make some enemies, but I don't care.
Iowa basketball first over Iowa football.
And a lot of it is not just what they're doing on the court.
I think it's great. I love when they win games and whatnot.
I love the fact that they're going to be, you know,
they're contending for a national title this year. God, you know, God willing,
but I love how they play together together i love how they play with a
chip on their shoulder there's an energy to them that they won't back down from anyone they don't
back down from any situation this is arguably the most resilient team i've ever seen play in my time
and i you know watching iowa basketball i think it kind of speaks to what you're talking about that
that tough freshman year the the last couple years of building
and grinding and working towards a common goal,
and it's starting to come to fruition.
So, I mean, it's pretty amazing.
Well, you know, you also got Conor McCaffrey facing this guy.
I want him in the trenches with me, baby.
I'm just sorry I can't – you know, I can't play with a –
oh, my God, I would have loved to play with him and tell him the court.
And that's why I told Luca, one of the things that his decision come back.
I said, Hey, listen, imagine this.
You get one more year to play with God or man.
And not only that, you know, J Bo, you know, of course.
And then you got to side. I mean, you've got some tough guys.
I mean, you know, Tucson will take on anybody.
Yeah.
I had a guy on my team, Terrell Cage.
Tough.
Tough.
It's just tough.
Tough.
This is Tucson, you know.
And then you've got the great wheeze.
I mean, the guy's a Skywalker player.
And when he finally just gets to, you know,
part of what you find
out in performances you elevate is you got to get let get yourself out of the way let it happen
baby and he's i believe he'll do that if he hasn't i know he has just based on the scrimmages hearing
from luca imagine all that and then you got the pistol p cj just could you imagine and then you got the pistol Pete CJ. Just could you imagine?
And then you Jack, I mean, I'd usually go down the whole bed.
I'm taught.
And then your buddies, Ash and Nico and these guys,
you got brethren fellowship.
Yeah.
You know, they got a chance to do somebody.
Could you imagine playing one more year with your brother?
Oh God.
Cause it'll never chat. Never be like that. Oh, God. Because it'll never be like that ever
again, where you're going to get the ball when you're
open, immediately when you're open,
because they realize that you're going to get two points.
It's the easiest way to score. And they also know
if they crunch in on you,
you're going to load right up there and you're just going to
bury it. I can't
wait to see J-Bo break the
three-point number for all time. And I mean that
sincerely.
So anyway, I think this whole thing favors
people that...
It's not just that freshman year. It's certainly part of the tapestry, Andrew.
But it's also you you got some tough, tough competitors on that team.
And that is what they learned from that freshman year.
It brought them out of it.
And Mark and I kid about this all the time with Connor and Luca.
You know, it's just tough kids.
Yeah.
And so, you know, I just, you know, we made a choice on hope, Andrew,
that not only would we have a vaccine, although that's way out there,
but more importantly that people will figure out how to distance
and do it the right way so that we can
have you know some kind of a season but time will tell all right my apologies but I do need to
quickly interrupt the interview with Frank to tell you about B Bar. If you have been listening to the show, you know I'm a
big fan of Built Bar. I have a ton of Built Bars at home, well I used to until I ran out as they
kind of went through a redevelopment process and creating an even better tasting and more delicious
Built Bar. We have the improved Built Bar, what I would like to call the built bar 2.0 they just released these um not
just a couple days ago they have 18 amazing flavors six brand new ones caramel brownie
cookies and cream cherry barcia lemon almond cheesecake carrot cake apple and apple almond
crisp again all these bars are covered in 100 chocolate they're soft easy to chew they have nut
and non-nut flavors so in case you have a nut allergy,
no worries there. And for me, the biggest thing here is not only are they delicious,
but they're great from a healthy standpoint. They are low calorie, low sugar, high protein, and high fiber. For example, one of my favorite bars that they have is the peanut butter. It has
19 grams of protein, 180 calories, five grams of sugar, and 5 grams of net carbs.
You can't get that in a protein bar today.
And if you do, it's got that chalky flavor.
It's kind of got a gross aftertaste.
That is not what you get at the Bilt Bar.
It is incredibly delicious and great for you. The best part is now that they have this relaunch, Bilt Bar has a fantastic deal for you.
Go to BiltBar.com and use promo code LOCKDOWN and you'll get $10 off your next order.

Yeah, one can only hope.
I definitely hope we have a basketball season, and I completely agree.
I mean, this team is just – it's fantastic to watch.
I do want to touch on one thing, kind of a less serious question, but the Iowa versus Tennessee game, that second round, you know,
that second round matchup,
going into the second half,
what were your thoughts going into that second half?
Because I know personally I was really excited they beat Cincinnati.
I'm like, all right, this team has talent.
We just need to get on a roll.
And then they go into Tennessee.
I'm thinking they can beat these guys.
They can beat them.
I don't see where the huge mismatch is.
And then we get down, you know, like 25, 26.
And I'm thinking, crap, we're back again is and then we get down you know like 25 26 and I'm
thinking crap we're back again and then we come out of the second half and it was just the most
electric thing so kind of funny story and I'll quickly tell it so I was actually in Vegas for
that weekend just wanted to bet on the games and whatnot but we also we went there because our hotel
was free they were trying to do that, you know, buy timeshare thing.
And they scheduled the timeshare for 9 a.m. in Vegas.
And I thought, that's perfect.
There's not going to be any NCAA games on at that time.
Not a problem.
Well, then Iowa gets scheduled for like 8.30 a.m. or something ridiculous.
So I watched the first half.
I'm pissed.
I go down to this timeshare thing.
I'm in just a real bad mood.
And then, you know, the game starts.
And I'm checking on my phone. I watched the first five minutes. I'm like, they're coming mood. And then the, you know, the game starts and I'm checking on my phone.
I watched the first five minutes. I'm like, they're coming back.
So I'm like, Hey, just one second.
Can I watch this game while you're talking to me? And she's like, uh, okay. So I put the phone up and I'm watching the game as she's talking to me and we
get down and she's like, so what do you think?
At least she has permission. At least she has permission.
Yeah. I mean, I was just like, I was like, um,
so what do you think about this timeshare? And I was like, um, honestly,
it's about five minutes left. I can't focus right now.
I can't listen to you.
I need to watch this game.
And so I had them pause the entire thing for me as I watched the ending of the game.
But it was just an incredible game.
I wanted to get your thoughts on that and kind of going into that second half.
What did you think was going to happen?
Well, I know you probably would have bought the timeshare if they won, fair?
Because you bet on Iowa.
No.
They were selling me hard they they almost
got me they were they were close I was I think it was one of the best I mean listen until you
leave the building and you're free of it I mean even out of their car they're selling you the
whole way if not hey I got another deal that doesn't work I got another deal that doesn't
work I got one over here that one doesn't work i mean it's just like deal city yeah so if
iowa would have won who knows i mean i i would think i was just really sad at that point i got
my hopes so up and then they lost i was like i don't know how to feel right now but yeah no yeah
yeah yeah yeah no that's um that's um that's funny well i'll say uh you know experiencing
it was something you know it was like you know i'm an economist by
trade so it's like i figured hey um i mean my schooling and and uh work and stuff is in economic
so i knew that you can't stay like you can't be upset at someone forever you're emotionally you
just can't yeah you're pretty soon you're gonna like the law of motion you're gonna body emotion
tends to stay in motion you're gonna swing back so i knew that the team and what fran was probably
saying in that locker room you know uh talk about temper i'm not gonna say anymore but uh i'm sure
that coupled with being totally whipped but but whipped uh and that first um you know half was not going to sit well with
anyone particularly uh to see mr cook and he came out bright as a thousand suns and just said guys
follow me that one dunk off the opposite foot and about faster than i can blink it was it was just
i was there i mean that was on that side of our basket. We were there. It was just like, okay.
Yeah.
And I tell you, a couple pass here in the overtime, different shot selection,
maybe stay with what was going, which was inside.
People that know me hear the mantra, you know, because mantras are good to have.
The mantra was inside out.
Yep. Let it go inside out. Yep.
Let it go inside, and then the outside opens up.
Not the outside in.
Inside out.
And we were doing very well.
But anyway, it just happens.
One pass or another pass.
It's just the nature of the game.
Just you can't look.
There's no value in second-guessing it.
But what they showed was this.
Hey, I was here to stay, baby.
Yeah.
And that taste of being in that second round, that feels good.
It's like, hmm, I could – hey.
You know, they were second in the country, right?
And that game is like, hey, they're number two.
Hey, I see us being final four.
Hey, I can see us winning it all.
And you need to have that vision first.
You have to have that belief belief which requires no physical talent it requires a decision um and so i think
they decided then yeah that that they're they're a team gonna gonna win yeah i get i get tired of
the the idea of of moral victories in a sense but i feel like out of anything I've seen in Iowa sports over the last,
you know, six, seven, eight years,
is that game felt like the turning point of Iowa basketball.
So we went into this next season, and Jordan Mohannon,
we don't know if he's going to be playing.
You know, Jack gets injured.
Patrick McCaffrey's having some you know issues
and whatnot and so I went to actually bought tickets I went to the Vegas tournament and I was
like all right yeah so it was it was a blast there I went with my buddy he was a big Creighton fan
and I went there and he's like Texas Tech's gonna kick the crap out of Iowa I was like I don't know
I feel like there's just something there's something feels different about this team just
feels a lot different even after they got smoked by what team was in the i can't remember the
small hall nippal i was like i was thinking of the dt yeah they got smoked by nippal it was just
so disgusting and that you know they after that game i mean they looked like they were incredible
nippal was like that was the best game of their entire season, which tends to happen in Carver sometimes.
It's ridiculous.
It's ridiculous.
But it's a fun shooting basket, though.
It's a fun shooting basket, though.
I mean, the lights are perfect.
Listen, it's a shooter's gym.
So that's, you know, but we got shooters, right?
So it's like whoever's shooting better is going to win.
But anyway, I remember that DePaul game.
But anyway.
Yeah, so we got – yeah, so, I mean, the DePaul game was very disheartening.
But you get to Vegas, and then they beat Texas Tech.
They were up on San Diego State.
I mean, they were in that game.
I mean, they should have won that game too.
Foul trouble.
Luka had foul trouble.
Yeah, that was – Luka was just getting destroyed by –
not like – just people were just knocking him all over.
I mean, he couldn't get –
Oh, yeah, and he had a big lip.
I mean, you don't know.
I mean, it just was like – it was so freaking painful.
Yeah.
God dang.
It was rough.
Yeah, it felt like things had turned.
And, like, I felt like after that tournament, I was like, this team's here.
This team's here to stay.
And this team's going to, you know, do some damage.
So, that was my personal turning point was after that game,
seeing them in Vegas was pretty incredible. Sounds like you haven't missed a single game except for
the New York tournament would that be accurate yeah well New York and then I missed Indiana
which was like oh uh because I the all the flight cancellations the weather I usually go a day
before but I just I couldn't with work and stuff so i went the same day and they just got canceled out so i i told luca hey listen i just want to hear you hear our name said many times over the
thing because i want to win and i want to win there i i that's my boyhood that's my selfish
one is i want to win there uh i want to take home a w so he went out and probably had what i think
one of his best performances.
And I was there at Michigan saying, you know, remember, you know,
so I say that and some of the moves, some of the things were, I don't know.
This was like, geez.
Really put them on the map.
That's what happens after not 10,000, 15,000 hours,
after about over 25,000 hours.
Yeah.
The fruits of his labor kind of come to,
come to fruition,
which I thought was pretty incredible.
Powered by the inner game though.
Powered by the inner game to allow his comfort zone to expand so that the
behavior would follow.
You can't do it.
You can try and do it the other way.
We have forced yourself to do it,
but the autopilot.
And,
but you got it.
So it's an inside game.
It's not an outside game, it's an inside game first,
and any kind of, anywhere, Andrew,
where your performance is gonna be required.
You wanna reach the top, you gotta go inside first.
That's why it's an inside game,
and so Luke has taken the time to deeply
learn more about that and practice that.
And I did have him on for a while on a plant-based diet.
And we'll move back a little bit.
Just because there's not the available options. plant-based diet and, and we'll move back a little bit, uh, uh,
just cause there's not the opt, uh, you know,
there's not the available options, you know,
unless you're just going to do vegetarian, um, you know, uh, cafe, uh,
zoo or, you know, or, you know, or something like that.
I love those guys there by the way. So anyway, come on. I, there,
they have a whole vegetarian thing for me, but, but anyway,
and he's lifting weights and stuff.
But you got to do it, Andrew, if you want to try and be a national champion.
Every one of those kids worked hard this summer, incredibly hard,
because they have a mission.
Yeah.
And they're going to do their best to get there.
Definitely.
So, Frank, I have taken up a lot of your time, but I have one last question.
I didn't realize it was so long.
I'm sorry, man.
Hopefully, you know. No, I'm perfectly fine a lot of your time, but I have one last question. I didn't realize it was so long. I'm sorry, man. I hopefully, you know,
I'm perfectly fine. I just feel bad. I try to, I try,
I try to be very cognizant of people's times and whatnot.
Well, I had a meeting canceled, so I may not cancel it.
We just moved it to one o'clock. So I know that'd be good.
We'll finish and then I'll have some lunch and then obviously you're not
going to let, I mean, you're going to cut a whole, I mean, whatever you want.
I feel like we could talk for hours. So, I mean, we, I was like, oh my gosh, we talked for 40
minutes. I hadn't even started the show yet. And I was like, it's been fantastic. But you talked a
lot about the mental aspect. This is the last question I want to bring up. You talked a lot
about the mental aspect and you keep bringing up the 95% and the mental piece and making sure that
inside you can handle these things. And you have two companies,
Conscious Selling and, you know, Sportshood.net, but I think it's more the Elevate program, right?
Correct. Correct. How did you come to start those? And was it, you know, it feels like this is
something you've kind of known about and been studying and been, you know, a part of for many
years. I just want to get your thoughts on those programs and how each of those can kind of
impact other people if they're looking to have that benefit.
I know, you know, growing up playing high school baseball, the mental aspect is so difficult
to, you know, you strike out once and then to not let it get in your head.
And as a 17 year old kid, so I can only imagine how helpful that can be.
But I just wanted to get your thoughts on both of those companies you were, you know,
founded and kind of how, how you're helping people kind of grow.
Well, I, you know, I really appreciate you asking me that, Andrew, because it's really,
you know, our hope is to, and part of the mission of the, you know, let the peacock fly.com effort
is to some of that money go to elevate, to get some kids, get this knowledge out there,
makes all the difference in the world. But it comes from my own life experience and coaches showing me
what the inside game was all about.
And, of course, I had some trauma growing up, so I was like, you know,
completely looking for something, some answer to how to get –
have this stuff not regulate what I do.
How does it still hold on to me when it, you know,
when it happened so long ago.
So there was a whole bunch of life things I was looking for.
So I first came in contact with this information. I was younger and it helped.
What was the reason why I was able to ascend and get out of where I was.
And so I wanted to make sure that all along Luca, Luca had that,
but not too fast too soon right
because otherwise we'll reject and we won't understand it's through through adversity that
you seek answers to if there's a great teacher great great teacher in that uh so she'll if you
listen to her you know and so what Luca learned and what he went through we he and I both said
well let's you know get this thing out there so everyone gets a chance to do it.
And let's start when it's young.
Because on the other side of the spectrum of conscious selling, where we're teaching professional trainers, not only outside skills, but the understanding of the inner side of game, the game of selling which regulates how you perform
on the outside just like what luca learned and does and demonstrated in athletics hey listen
selling in in sports is this is very same very much the same basketball very much the same
the sports and selling now there's a winner at the end did you win the deal or not yeah and there's
a whole bunch of reasons why i'm going to look at some film we're gonna do that no part most of our clients like they're so happy to
receive this because it's exactly what they've experienced there at a ceiling
they haven't it so we started conscious selling to bring a biopsychosocial
approach to selling which is the 360 view inner game and outer game and then
we made it available for the youth because
be easier to catch them when they're you know 12 to 15 than when they're you know up to 18 12 18
in college we all do our college too uh all you know versus when i see them in the training rooms
and now on zoom you know for salesforce and you know all these other companies that we do work for
and and so anyway it's something where those two are there for that reason.
And it is a passion, you know,
it is a passion of mine and my partner Guru Ganesha in the,
in the conscious selling and in Elevate. He does the meditations with us.
He's a master meditator.
Hasn't shaved in 55 years and wears a diaper on his head,
but it's a real nice when he ties it real nice, but he, no, I kid with him all the time.
He's uncle Ganesh to us, Andrew, but listen,
he's helped show the inner game deeper than what I had.
And now we've incorporated and Luke has had that benefit,
which has helped him. So we bring that to the now.
It's awesome.
You know, it's like this, Andrew, on the last thing, it's like, Hey,
you want to be a seller now you better be conscious because there's a whole bunch of stuff going on
and if you're not next you know i'm just not going to spend time with someone who's not conscious
completely agree um i you know i looked at you know about me on the the conscious selling and
i really it kind of speaks to me because i i'm not i've never done sales um but i understand like
part of me, the
reason why I don't want to do sales is because I don't want to be selling to someone who doesn't
have, you know, basically how we're talking about is we all need to be mutually motivated to want
to make exactly. And I struggle with that aspect of finding those people that are mutually motivated
to make the deal. And also I don't feel appropriate in selling something that I don't want to
be selling because that's also not doing, doing them justice I thought that was interesting but you did touch on and I promise
this is the last question but no that's fine I'm good I'm good on time so perfect so let the peacock
fly I want to make sure you get that word out um you know doing some great stuff there you're you
know having a scholarship for teachers I wanted to um let you kind of speak about that for a few
minutes um yeah thank you for that yeah what kind of sparked that well thank you Andrew in fact we we were we're just releasing now this is the first word of it thank you for
asking i didn't know if i was going to push it or like that i don't know go for it so i mean i
didn't ask you to ask that either so yeah no it was all me it was definitely my me my choice no
no but it's nice how conscious when you when you want something to happen you can't force you got
to just let it happen i'm glad that we experienced that yeah together so yeah we've we've released like 10
10 new designs i hope people like them but they're they're um some new interpretations and we're
gonna run a campaign we're gonna try and raise 55 000 uh which is like i think about 5 500 sure
something like that so we're gonna try and and and and do that and see if we can't cause we, every,
every dollar after the cost of this shirt, my dad runs it and it's his,
it's a nonprofit and all that stuff is there.
And so he's the commander in chief of that. I was just my idea and,
and stuff like that. So anyway, uh, and, and, and, and that's our hope too.
It's something that we believe in, but we distributed out to all the teachers, you know, everyone that applied really and got it out just to help.
But now we're trying to go bigger and see if we can't support some new methodology or do not methodology,
maybe some new methods with methodology for teaching through Zoom that you can't go more than i don't know 90 minutes that's
a max and then come back and just do some new things but have some money to do that and then
we are hoping to put a thousand youth through elevate program and uh do that so we're we're
looking to do that it's you know let the peacock fly.com and they're they're the new designs there
but thank you andrew that's uh yeah that's uh that's sweet of you to ask and
and you know from the basketball standpoint you know when i said that let the peacock fly saying
that right at the tennessee game it was like we really want to let the peacock fly this year
and see if we can't bring home a national championship god willing with, with the health of everyone first. But anyway, it's a time to let it fly.
Man, if the state of Iowa, if the University of Iowa brings home a basketball championship,
I honestly, I don't know how I'm going to react to that.
I just like, I don't know how I'm going to handle that, but it would be pretty amazing.
Either way, the journey is going to be really incredible to watch kind of how they go through that.
But Frank, I've taken up a ton of time.
I've had an absolute blast talking to you.
It has been a very – so much a joy to talk to you.
So any last words, though, for Hawkeye Nation before we drop off the call?
Yeah, thank you for asking it, Andrew.
Yeah, it's been a delight.
Thank you for letting me just rant on.
I was going to be doing a training.
See, when I'm in training mode, you know,
there's a little part where I verbalize and then we role play or something,
but anyway,
thank you for letting me have a Friday where I could just unwind with you and
hopefully people get something out of it. To Hawkeye Nation, I want to say,
Hey, thank you all. I mean this sincerely. I'm very, you know,
marrow deep that, you know,
your support of us in the process and having faith that we would come to a decision
that was going to be the best one that was going to be conscious and it was going to be heart
centered not money money driven principles over monetary things andrew right as principles are
what gets a pilot through a he or she you know flying with in the fog it's they got to rely on their training to
to take the souls home and land safely uh with the souls on board so from that standpoint i want
to thank everyone for that even the ones that i had some haters you know people this and that on
me and i just say hey as my coach said in my final statement to us all uh bill trumbull passed away
two years ago spirit left his body
we miss him every day he said hey frank whatever he said this to luca too right in the summer
workouts and going up whatever the question whatever's coming at you love is the answer
you know and i take one step further which is no one ever got lost following their heart.
You know, if it's from their heart, not some other reason,
but it's heart centered.
You've never gotten lost. And, and so I leave with that.
And I hope to be able to see people and in the stands,
but that may not happen till the March madness.
And I'll look forward to that opportunity should it arise.
But the next time we can be together.
Absolutely.
Well, thank you, Frank.
Have a great rest of your Friday.
It definitely is a great way to start mine.
And I'll talk to you later.
All right.
All right.
Thank you, Andrew.
Thank you, Frank.
All right. And that will do it for our interview with Frank Garza.
Again, a big shout out to him.
We had a great conversation spanning over a little bit,
about around an hour, hour and a half.
So really appreciate his time and his energy. He was, it was a great way to start a Friday. As I mentioned,
I know we're dropping this episode on Wednesday, but we recorded last Friday and it was a great
way to start my Friday. Just always brings a lot of energy and you can see that come through even
in the podcast. And I think it lets me kind of bring out my energy as well. So really appreciated
just chatting with Frank.
Great insight, great knowledge, and just a great guy to talk to.
Hopefully we can maybe get him back on the show at another time.
But he is a popular guy in the podcast world.
So make sure to check him out on some of the other Iowa podcasts
where his interviews will be dropping over the next couple weeks.
That being said, if you liked the episode, though, today,
make sure to like, review, and subscribe.
We've got other great interviews coming out as well.
I've alluded to these before, but we have Matt Dermody,
a former Iowa Hawkeye baseball player
and current member of the Chicago Cubs organization.
He also played briefly in the MLB.
We got Riley Smith, an actor on the CW's Nancy Drew,
a guy who's played in multiple TV shows that you definitely
have heard of. But most of all, he's a huge Iowa fan with a lot of incredible stories. And we got
Mike Dom, a guy who was going to be playing on the Iowa United, but the Iowa United did not get
into the TBT. So he's on the House of Pain, or he was on the House of Pain. And he talks a bit about
the TBT in general. I thought it was a really cool conversation to understand what exactly
went on in the tbt and how that bubble actually worked for those of you who did not know so
make sure to check out those episodes as well we'll be back though tomorrow and friday with
more episodes so stay tuned for that and as always hawkeye nation have a fantastic day thank you for
listening and let's go Hawks.
