Locked On Jayhawks - Daily Podcast On Kansas Jayhawks Football & Basketball - BIG 12 SQUAD - Brendan Sorsby may PLAY in 2026 | How this impacts Kansas

Episode Date: May 21, 2026

Texas Tech’s postseason dreams hang in the balance as Brendan Sorsby’s NCAA eligibility battles mental health claims and strict gambling rules. Are the Red Raiders’ hopes tied to this high-stake...s legal fight? The panel unpacks Sorsby’s unprecedented injunction, the Big 12’s reputation, and the lingering shadow of betting controversies on college football. Key questions arise: Can Sorsby’s “fitting in” defense sway the NCAA, or does it set a precarious precedent for mental health in sports? Elsewhere in the Big 12, coaching headlines buzz with Kyle Whittingham’s Utah succession plan, Kalani Sitake’s near-move to Penn State, and the ongoing arms race in NIL and salaries. On the diamond, Oklahoma State and West Virginia chase baseball and softball glory, while program-building and postseason snubs stoke debate. Is the Big 12 undervalued in baseball, and what will it take for Baylor or West Virginia to break through? The squad tackles all the hot topics you can’t afford to miss. Starting point is 00:00:00 You know, Brendan Sorsby gambled on college football while playing college football. But after what I'm reading, I think Brendan Sorsby is going to play college football again. This is the Dose Grande Squad. You're talking ball with the Big 12 squad. From Oklahoma State to Utah, from Kansas State to BYU. From Houston to Texas Tech, it's the local experts of the locked-on podcast network, bringing you scoops, breakdowns, and the most comprehensive preview of the up. coming Big 12 weekend.

Welcome to the Dose Grande Squad. Jake Hatch of Locked on Cougars talking all things, BYU, Cody Stilvo, Locked on Oklahoma State and a few others trickling in over the course
Starting point is 00:00:51 of our next half hour together. Drake Toll with you of Locked on Big 12. Thanks for making our shows your first listen every single day. though we are small today we are my you get the right three together and magic can happen that's written somewhere in the stars um guys have awesome collie about that at b yu that's good that's good um look this britton stores be deals but at the top of the big 12 i know you guys have studied up on it a bit and the update this week about his injunction and a mental health side of the injunction is unstoppable force versus immovable object we'll start to
Starting point is 00:01:29 there. We'll get into the major storylines of the Big 12, including both Matt Campbell and Kalonis-Take opening up to On 3 this week about their decisions to both leave and nearly leave their schools. And baseball, softball, postseason play is here. Cody Stelval, Oklahoma State is alive in all of it. If you hit subscribe, we can keep our jobs. Here's the update. Brennan Sorsby files an adjunction. High-powered legal team. Big time, Jeffrey Kessler is the the killer of all things NCAA. Like he's the nightmare, nightmare, nightmare for the NCAA of the courtroom. And if there's one thing we know that they've been strict about, clear on, gambling,
Starting point is 00:02:08 you gamble, you're done. And it sounds like written in this injunction that the NCAA is leaning toward Brendan Sorsby being done, that he cannot play next year. But if there's one thing the NCAA also really cares about, it's mental health. Sorsby saying that he had to gamble to fifth, which, wild, but that he had to gamble to fit in in Indiana, couldn't find his niche, and it just felt right that he wouldn't be bullied, and that he could finally have a place to be at IU if he bet on his team to win, and other teammates would respect. He's almost bullied into betting.
Starting point is 00:02:43 Guys, the NCAA hates gambling, but they really get stuck with that whole mental health work. Hey, Drake Toll, this is the defense that Pete Rose once upon a time used. I couldn't get reinstated to baseball. the all-time hits leader of Major League Baseball history. So I'm sorry, Brendan Sorsby. I love you. I understand that you're trying to find any way, any, any modicum of trying to find yourself and get yourself Elduel to play the season for Texas Tech. I think the rules are hard and fast here. And I think ultimately, he's going to be entering the NFL supplemental draft, but that's my personal opinion on that matter. Well, Hatch, but think about this, you know, Pete Rose obviously
Starting point is 00:03:20 lives in an era. Like my dad would always be like, oh, Pete Rose, let him, and betting on a team to win. There's that old school mentality of or he would say, think of like, my dad, here's the word mental health. That pansy stuff. I'm like, okay, okay, okay. So there was a time two decades ago, three decades ago, where Pete Rose says mental health, we're like, all right, pansy. Now mental health, as it should be, is taken very seriously. You throw that word out there. It's tough to fight against. fellas, I will take this softball you're lobbing up and say that Pete Rose deserves to be in the hall and Brandon Sorsby needs another year of college football,
Starting point is 00:03:57 and I actually do think that we need this. The Big 12 has a perception problem. If anybody beats Texas Tech with any other quarterback running the team other than Brandon Sorsby, people are going to say, oh, look at the Big 12. They couldn't even beat Will Hammond led Texas Tech Squad. So the Big 12 is not going to be any good unless you beat a Brennan Sorsby. Do I agree with his, you know, justifications for what happened in Indiana? No, I do not.
Starting point is 00:04:21 But I also don't agree with the fact that Cincinnati likely knew that stuff was happening and they made a point to bury it. Give the dude an opportunity to play again. I don't care what the reason be. But Cody, here's the deal. All the other leagues and they talk about the integrity of these games being sacrosinct. And that's where this kind of stems from.
Starting point is 00:04:40 He bet on his own team. And yes, Drake, he's claiming he was trying to fit in at Indiana. And he was trying to find his. They were making him do it. They were bullying him into doing it 10,000 times. Yeah. That's why he's betting on Romanian. basketball or whatever.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Of course. But look, okay, I think Mountaineer Paul has, like I said, we'd have some characters jump in and through here. Paul, you've been pretty clear on your, on Twitter, on your show about the importance of mental health. So I want to, I want two things here. One, I really hope Swordsby's not just using this as a stick. It seems a little fishy. Like, what a, what a time to now bring up your
Starting point is 00:05:22 bullied in doing this. Two, again, that word is to the NCAA can't push back and say, oh, it's not a mental health issue. Because when they say that, they're looking at even further lawsuits. It's definitely dicey. I think, you know, because of the climate we live in right now, there are people that are going to abuse the system, right? Just like with anything else. I'm not saying that's happening here, obviously, you have to walk the line. So tough.
Starting point is 00:05:48 Yeah, right. Right. So tough. You know, as somebody who deals with real mental health issues, you know, of working on their mental health issues and different things. Mine's anxiety. So it's a little bit different. But, you know, I think it can be really tough whenever I'm used to having that kind of
Starting point is 00:06:08 cast upon me. Like, you know, some people don't really know what to believe whether it's true or not, whether you're just kind of using it. I get that feeling like from the other side when it's when it's not true about you, like when you really are feeling those things. And so it would probably make me pretty mad. if that's exactly what somebody else was doing, especially somebody, you know, to be honest, very privileged in the situation they were in. So I think, you know, people make mistakes,
Starting point is 00:06:34 obviously at young ages and I obviously I have grace for that. But man, you know, mental health is something like I also understand on the same pan that people will kind of defer to that if they're in a sticky situation. And I think you just have to talk about both. You just have to. you both can be true right it's you know mental health is lied about and it's also something that's very important at the same time so just what you have to use your your best judgment needs individual situation and it'll come out in the wash listen here you pretty power to hookers i've been to Oklahoma state fan for the last two years i have been suffering for mental health issues all right and and you know what i do not have that stolen valor that's stolen valor i don't
Starting point is 00:07:21 have millions of dollars in NIL. He was betting dollars. I was betting 10 cents. That's the, Cody, here's the thing. Why is he pushing all this? Oh, wait, he has five million reasons why he's. Well, and I would, I would imagine that there's some people at Texas Tech that probably helped him get that figure that are probably like, dude, we're fighting this thing to the end. I don't care if you got to go to rehab. I don't care if you got to claim this, this massive mental health obstacle. You're going to play on the football field this season, because we put the money up for you to do so. And I think that has some factor in this as well.
Starting point is 00:07:54 And good on you, Texas Tech. Because, again, I think that the outside conferences would talk trash on the Big 12. If God forbid, we lost to a Texas Tech team that had Will Hammond on the sidelines instead of. You don't like Will Hammond? He's pretty talented kid. He's not bad. The rest of the country doesn't know who Wilhammon is. That's a great point.
Starting point is 00:08:14 That's a great point. I think with this, the Paul's sponsor. on it. And Paul, thanks for sharing it. Again, I wouldn't call you out there if you haven't been public about it and somebody who's an advocate. and that people can turn to and ask questions. Nobody's better at responding to listeners, fans, people who need help, the Mountaineer Paul. And so I want to give you a chance to talk about it. And thanks for doing so.
Starting point is 00:08:35 But to close, since this up, 10,000 wagers, 20 bets per day, Draft Kings, bet MGM, hard rock bet. And he's admitted to wages between $5 and $50 on sports such as Turkish basketball and Romanian soccer. So I, too, it would be like, you know what? My brain's messed up. I got bullied into betting on Romanian soccer. This may not end well for Sorsby.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Coming up, let's get into a little J.T. Westersell joining on three this week, just interviewed everybody from the Big Toy. What's got, Hatch? There's somebody that knows about Will Hammett. It's J.T. Let's be rude. Kyle Whittingham to Kalanisantan Sataki to Matt Campbell, all spoke to on three this week.

Starting point is 00:10:43 we heard from multiple coaches past and present in the Big 12. I thought Morgan Scally of the folks who talked to On 3 was the big headline. JT. You've covered it well this week. He's not the problem. He's not the reason Kyle Whittingham's gone. Only thing is, is if Morgan Scali didn't exist, Kyle Woodingham would still be the head coach at Utah. It would be because when you have a candidate like Morgan Scally, you do everything in your power not to risk losing him. And the fact is, even though there was a lot of stipulations in place, had Kyle come back, Morgan was still had a lot of power. By keeping Kyle, they were very much risking losing Morgan Scali.
Starting point is 00:11:19 And when you have a guy like a Morgan Scali who I think has the chance to be Ryan Daylike, not national championship of Ohio State, keeping the team where they're at when the last great coach left. Same thing with an Oklahoma at the time with a Lincoln, right. I think that's what you're talking about when Morgan Scouts. Keep the team where they are. What? Cam, you're muted.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Everyone loves Ryan Day, obviously, the Nick Siriani of college football. So certainly this would work out for everybody wants a Ryan Day as the head of their program, including the highest team. It went a national championship. I think worked out, okay. But all I'm saying is this, Morgan, you're at, you are right, Drake, that Morgan Scali would not be that coach. If you would still be at Utah,
Starting point is 00:11:57 if Morgan didn't exist. So he is partially responsible for what happens. So if he's going to do his Ryan Day compression, does that mean you're going to continue to lose the BYU every year? Oh, hang. Paul, he shows up and you're taking shots. I'm over here being quiet. M.T.
Starting point is 00:12:12 You're my new favorite person. Let's go. I had to think he was on a T. It was on a T. I mean, there you are. Cam, where are you going that way? Can't, what we can't carry your parents? I want to see Mountain Year, Paul kind of captured the spirit of it.
Starting point is 00:12:26 When I heard Ryan Day before the night, National Championship. I was just thinking, oh, the guy that just the whole fan base wanted fired. Morgan Scali could be that. I would take it James Franklin. So, hey, I guess I guess I'm seeing the vision. You know, I'm seeing the vision. Hey, real quick, is it bad if Michigan has a remarkable season and Utah doesn't? Like, is that a bad look on you? Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. It hurts the big 12. It's a bad look on the big 12. I guess that's what I meant. It's not good for big 12. Michigan and Penn State. or he could rich rod all over himself and go 7 and 5 and that's not too bad for us. No, that would be great.
Starting point is 00:13:04 That would be great. That would work out fine if he does that over there. How about also on three this week, Kalonatate Satake opening up about the Penn State job and about getting how he could have gotten that bag and decided not to. Hatch, how close was Kalani leaving? He was close, but you mentioned the fact that he got the bag. Well, BYU delivered the bag in the end, but he was on his way out. And he was looking at, yeah, major money, $9, $10 million.
Starting point is 00:13:31 And to crumble cookies and every other BYU booster's credit, they stepped up and made it worth his while. I always thought Kalani and his heart of hearts wanted to stick around in Provo, but he also wanted to be paid what he is worth. And that's what he got out of that situation. Really close to getting that nut, really close to getting that nut. You all are more shaking of the bag and maybe he would have gotten there. Hatch is telling you, you all are polar.
Starting point is 00:13:56 education. Powers. You give them trouble cookies, boys, okay? The school people who can read okay. Sicken bears. Second bears. Got to get that nudge.
Starting point is 00:14:11 I also loved the Matt Campbell quote on three this week, saying he was, want to do the right thing and have a good service to his players in Iowa State, put them in the correct spot. And in doing so, the quote was something along the lines of, then after they did what they did, which he was referencing.
Starting point is 00:14:26 Iowa State hiring a new football coach because he had left. Then after they did The Thing, I coincidentally hosted 20 Iowa State players at Penn State that weekend. But I wanted to leave them a great. I wanted to leave them a great spot. I did not like, I did not. I looked at my former program with 17 total players at one point. Yeah, we did the right thing there. Yeah, let them in a good spot.
Starting point is 00:14:52 I laid my head down at night. I'm sleeping good. Guys, that's a word Penn State. I don't know if it's a great look if, you know, Penn State does phenomenal. But, I mean, their schedule is better. I think that one's better, though. I think it shows the acumen of a big 12 coach. The Whittingham one, we know that we know Whittingham can win at a elite level already.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Cable never showed elite level winning. Just really good for Iowa State. Can we go back to the Clonist-Stocke thing real quick, though? Yeah, yeah, yeah. All three of these on three articles. up here. I have to revert back to some of the Gundy stuff, right? And I think one of the biggest obstacles for my Gunney this previous season was the fact that he was making $7.5 million whenever you're having NIL troubles. And at that time we were, it kind of felt like that the
Starting point is 00:15:40 days of the head coach is getting 8, 9, 10 mil were kind of going by the wayside because it needs to go more to NIL and more to players. So I'm kind of surprised to hear that there's coaches out there that still want that 910 number. Cody, to your point, that is well taken. But BYU, also had booster step up and pay between $10 and $15 million on top of that for NIL purposes. So they also gave him the bag, but they also gave him a bag of money to give to his players along with it. So it was a double whammy. I'm with you. Gotcha.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Former ways coaches will probably want in terms of, hey, I need some extra money to go to NIL, but in BYU's case, apparently they're willing to fund both sides. I think these big 12 coaches see Deion Sanders making nearly $11 million a year. And they're like, wait a minute. Wait, I win football games, though. Like, I do that a lot. Without the Heismid trophy winner. Cody, I'm surprised.
Starting point is 00:16:34 You're surprised if these coaches want as much money. I mean, we are talking about college football coaches. Not like the egos are tiny here. They're going to want as much as they could possibly get. And I'm not talking about Sataki. I don't even think he's won a high ego. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was talking about the large spectrum.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Honestly, including a guy like your guy in the past Mike, who I feel like Coach Gundy had, a decent-sized ego. You know better than me, right? Decent. size? Yeah. Well, I'd say it's about sprinkled sassy kind of size. He's a man. He's a man. He's a man. He's 60. Is he the antithesis of Dave Miranda?
Starting point is 00:17:07 If you go check out his farming. Well, Dave Rand is robbing a football program blinds, to be fair. But you guys all bring a can brings up a good point. I respect the sentiment. He does seem like a very nice guy, but who? He is a thief. He's a thief. Dave, Dave, DeV Rand is going to take $40 million from Baylor by the time.
Starting point is 00:17:28 It's all said, $40 million. You didn't want all these coaches, man. You won one conference time. Yeah, thanks for bringing that up, J.T. Much appreciated. Dave Aranneighed outlasted Lincoln Riley. He outlasted Matt Gamble. He outlasted Kyle Whittingham.
Starting point is 00:17:45 Mike Gundy. Yeah. Yeah, pretty wild. Baylor is, Baylor's committed. Who's the old West Virginia guy? Neil Brown. Neilie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:55 I don't think Dave Miranda ever beat Neil Brown. I beat him one time. He did beat him one time. Where? When? I don't think it did. Last time. Last time, 24.
Starting point is 00:18:06 I'd like that on the record. Really? Yeah, yeah. It's part of the streak. That's when they won. That was the fourth out of six straight. So they went out of April. And they had a report after the game.
Starting point is 00:18:19 They were like, Dave Miranda staying. It was like, oh. Oh, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. All right. You and Drake, Cam, what would it take, ultimately for Dave Arand to get canned in season? The greatest scandal of all time. Lose to Tulsa.
Starting point is 00:18:34 He'd heard the name. No, he already lost to Tulsa. He lost Texas State. Yeah, man. Turns out they're not even good. Oh, no. Oh, no. You would have to, you ever heard of Rhealds?
Starting point is 00:18:46 He would have to art Bryles himself. Whoa. He'd have to have to have a war scandal in Bayware Athletics history, which is, A player killed a guy. A player killed another player. And the coach Dave Randa is so. You think that's what Dave Randa goes three and nine. They sit down in the room to fire over the border region.
Starting point is 00:19:07 He's like, you know, we had a player kill a player before and you're going to fire this guy. You're really going to fire this guy. We kept bliss until midnight. We did everything we could to keep Dave Bliss. After he covered up a murder. Yeah. Yeah. Boom, baby.
Starting point is 00:19:24 There was a much funnier picture I was trying hard to find. It's of Neil Brown. He took a selfie during a workout at the gym. It's really funny. Have you ever seen his dab video before? Sorry. No idea. Like, what the hell I'm doing?
Starting point is 00:19:38 I have no idea. There he is. That's so good. This is great. Going up, baseball, softball. Are you up yet? Oh. Oh, we got a couple of good.
Starting point is 00:19:54 baseball teams in here. Ty, Ty, Ty, uh, Ty Armstrong. Tice. Tice arms. Well, he's two is close and personal friends. He's Thai. Tice Armstrong for Baylor sets the record. Utah has baseball. BYU has baseball.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Oklahoma State looks really good. West Virginia. It looks really good too. And on softball, we have a, a super regional representative here. Cody Stoball, Oklahoma State. Stoball only right. We start with you. The diamond looks pretty good.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Yeah. It's pretty fun time and still at Oklahoma right now. I think we're in a decent position to at least getting the hosting conversation. I think we'd have to win the Big 12 tournament to get there. But fellas, I absolutely love the fact that we're starting off the Big 12 tournament against UCF. The Kansas, West Virginia's storylines are absolutely phenomenal. But UCF, they're number one in the conference and team batting average. They're number one in the conference and team ERA.
Starting point is 00:20:46 I do feel like that they have some of the best individual pieces. So if we get past UCF, you've got to feel pretty daggone good about the Cowboys making a run of the Big 12 tournament and getting into that regional hosting conversation because we have the facilities to do it. I mean, Paul talked about this before. There has been teams like Dallas Baptist and East Carolina that have been booted out of that top 16 just because their facilities were not quite the same as one of those teams hovering in that 17, 18 range. We can get there.
Starting point is 00:21:13 And then in softball, we're having a remarkable time because, you know, going to the Super Regional, you're going up against Nebraska, you go up against a former shooter and Jordy Ball, which we've already faced earlier this year, and we beat Nebraska with that former sooner on the bump. So you've got to feel pretty good about going up to Lincoln and stealing a super regional title and making another World Series run. Damn. Cody's already got him there.
Starting point is 00:21:37 I love it. I kind of love it. I mean, I feel pretty good about beating Nebraska. I really do. Yes. I think Texas Tech goes to Florida and gets a win. I think Oklahoma State gets a win. I thought that Arizona State's hot enough to beat anybody,
Starting point is 00:21:54 right now. Task is Paul against Texas, but I think it can beat anybody. What is it? UCF gets UCLA? What are we? UCF's in the super, man. Yeah, that's rough. Who is that?
Starting point is 00:22:07 It's a rough one for the late nights. Yeah. Baseball wise. Hey, each of you are represented in the Big 12 baseball tournament. Cam, does Baylor have to win that tournament to get in at this point? Yeah. Softball got in with a pretty similar situation. Similar record, similar situation.
Starting point is 00:22:24 by the way. Yeah, they were two games over, but had a good RPI, good strength of schedule. Yeah, Baylor's probably going to need to at least make a deep run.
Starting point is 00:22:35 How about they get to the final of it and I'll reconsider. I'm just happy Baylor's pretty decent of baseball again. You went on a stretch there where I didn't make any sense. This is going to, if they miss it's the first time
Starting point is 00:22:47 in 35 years, they've missed six straight tournaments. So we're not, we're not quite where we're, want to be. Is it at six now? That's a lot of tournaments, man. Yeah, seven years, six tournaments. If they mess. Oh, COVID. Yeah. Uh, that's, that's fire the other coach territory. That's, that's fire the coach again. That's fire. James had to say. Huh? I like what Steve Savans had to say about West Virginia the other day, uh, play here. I find it really hard to believe that,
Starting point is 00:23:18 uh, one of the top three conferences in the country with no doubt and a team that set a program, record for conference wins with 21, a team that finishes second in the league, a team that has the best pitcher in one of the top three leagues in the country is not hosting. We have won every series but two and have multiple sweeps in a power four league. It's well respected with good strength of schedule. I just think that's a great point. Obviously, for West Virginia, you know what I mean? I think it's a little maybe undervalued what they did this year because this is not a traditional powerhouse baseball program. And what Mazie and company is my cat's going crazy here have built is truly impressive.
Starting point is 00:24:03 We're really proud of it. We want to do whatever it takes to hold on to the Steve Savings guy. Now, hold on, Paul. What was he talking about there? He was there asking about hosting because West Virginia is technically still viewed on the bubble. And he's like, it's ridiculous. It's ridiculous that we should be. Hey, you and West Virginia hosting should be already a done deal.
Starting point is 00:24:23 He believes they should even be super, super regional. Top eight. Top eight, possible. It's possible. You know what I mean? 60th in RPI. Oh,
Starting point is 00:24:34 you're done. You're done. Is there not 64 teams? No, they're going to extend it. That's my next push. That is my next push. We need an eight. We need 88.
Starting point is 00:24:52 I will be, I will be, I'm going back to Indianapolis and I am handcuffing myself to a tree outside the offices. And I will not eat until we get 138 teams. Maybe that'd be why you can get in. Let's go. What's great about that is college football goes to 138. They'd make billions of dollars. Baseball would lose billions of dollars. Baseball is just a money-sucking sport of the college realm.
Starting point is 00:25:25 Oh, God. Yeah, unless you're making World Series runs, baseball is, uh, yeah, there's like five school, five or six schools are making genuine revenue on baseball. That's crazy. And now you're paying, now you're, who are they paying players? Texas, North Carolina, base are Arkansas, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Arkansas, LSU is pretty clear, Ole Miss. Oh, LSU, yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:47 They may only be SEC schools, too. Yes. Correct. And it's because of attendance. It's all because of attendance. Not only do those stadiums that we just mentioned hold, you know, seven to 10,000, but they fill them up.
Starting point is 00:26:01 They turn them into insane. The only team in the Big 12 that has an SEC atmosphere every weekend seems to be KU, actually. Baylor doesn't have an S.C. What are you talking about? Well, no, no. Kansas made a meme out of it, which is the coolest part.
Starting point is 00:26:19 They're like, look students baseball sucks isn't that kind of fun look so boring please show up and take your shirt off and that's all the students want to do yes sell sell beer and let them take their shirts off at baylor three kids sat on a porch and they're like no police police police dude that was our only chance that was our only chance of getting back meanwhile they'll play a hype video before the game from 20 years ago of kids on that same porch and right field like spring champagne when they won a super regional.
Starting point is 00:26:51 And I'm like, oh, yeah, neither of those things will ever happen again. Christian. Wait. When you guys talk about just like the lack of baseball money, it is that reminder of why teams pour so much into football. Because football is the one that makes by far the most money. Correct. And then it's crazy to think that these other ones barely get in.
Starting point is 00:27:10 You got a brand new ballpark up there in Salt Lake City, buddy. Come on. Well, we just built a new one. I know. I said to brand new ballpark. This is Derek isn't here. Can I say something about Kansas baseball? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Derek, you're in our thoughts and prayers. Nothing's wrong with them. He's just not with us tonight. You guys ever play that game where you do the best three athletes in football, basketball, baseball, baseball, from your school? Like best pro athletes.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Kansas is close to being elite, but you can't name a single baseball player. Fair. I'll hang up and listen. Ryan Zephy, John? Well, I mean, if you guys, to count their pitcher right now Vogel, he's going to be a first rounder
Starting point is 00:27:53 if you've got to be a great pro. You've got to match up to Gail Sayers and Will Chamberlain. It's impossible. Hey, whoa, they had Smokey Joe Wood. No, I think he's just from Kansas, but you could double check me on that. That's the Red Sox single season leader
Starting point is 00:28:13 for wins in a season, 35. Bob Allison? Did Johnny Damon not go there? No, he started his career in Kansas City. Oh, Smoky Joe Wood of 1912 World Series. Yes. There we go. The Kansas Jayhawk.
Starting point is 00:28:28 Oh, there we go. 1912. By the way, congrats Cincinnati. Cincinnati has the best big three of anyone in the conference. Oh, okay. Who's their basketball guy? Oscar Robertson, ever heard of her?
Starting point is 00:28:42 There we go. Oh, wow. Pretty good. Football would be Travis Kelsey. Yes, got that one. Jason Jason or Jason. Yeah, I mean, Jason is probably better. Yeah, probably better. That's a tough one because Travis Kelsey is at Mount Rushmore tied end. Yeah. Jason might be a match more center, right? Correct. That's a great point. That's a great point.
Starting point is 00:29:03 Who is the, who is the baseball? As much as I'd love for it to be Kevin Eucalus, I will go with the actual greatest Jewish major league baseball player of all time, Sandy Kofax. Oh, okay. Well, this has been and it always will be. Jay Cash of Lockdown Cougars, Mountain Air Paul of, you know, Lockedong, West Virginia. He's a low-key, very good one, too. J.T. West yourself, Lockedon, Heutz, Cody Stovell of Locked at Oklahoma State and Cameron Stewart of Lockton, Beagle. This has been it always will. We will see you next week.
Starting point is 00:29:30 Locked on. Thanks for making our show. Your First, listen everything with that. The Dose Grande Squad.
