It was the biggest headline of the NFL draft and it was bad for the Big 12.
This is the Big 12 Squad.
You're talking ball with the Big 12 Squad, sponsored by Game Time.
From Oklahoma State to Utah, from Kansas State to BYU, from Houston to Texas Tech,
it's the local experts of the Locked On Podcast Network bringing you scoops, breakdowns,
and the most comprehensive preview of the upcoming Big 12 weekend. Buckle up, it's the Big 12 Squad,
and we have a seat for you. Know her feelings and thin skin aloud. Squad up, you're part of the Big
12 Squad. Happy Thursday night, everybody. I'm Drake Toll, and I'm the only one here for the
Big 12 Squad. At least that would be way more fun for me. Instead, Cody Stovall of locked on Oklahoma state,
JT West yourself locked on youths, Nick Marabets,
host locked on cyclones, Parker Ainsworth,
talks locked on Cougs.
I know what you're thinking,
kind of a short roster tonight.
Well, the rest of our big 12 squad members
have succumbed to Ebola.
It is back and stronger than ever.
Today's show is brought to you by Game Time
and we're going to talk vaguely about sports. We will start with a story that transcends all of sports. Mel
Kuyper Jr. yelled at a lot of people and a lot of people yelled at Mel Kuyper Jr. I know
it's been about a week now. It's actually a week to the day that Shador was not drafted
in the first round in a week to tomorrow that he wasn't drafted in the second or the third
store Sanders goes in the fifth. It is the biggest draft story of all time.
And it kind of sucked for the big 12.
What, where do we even,
I know Parker, you said you have a lot of thoughts on this.
Where do we start?
Well, and it's one of those things where like,
we all talk about our respective programs.
So like you don't have where they just like
vent it out or whatever.
I think though, and I want to hear y'all take on
as people that talk sports all the time, it feels like everyone's talking about he slid. He slid. He said
Maybe the evaluators were just wrong. He's not particularly
Athletic that wins get placed on the quarterback. He didn't win as many games as other people did
He had five guys that receivers that all went pro if I'm not mistaken
I I I wonder if like maybe the deal here is the subtle story the other story is like
Maybe Deon Sanders saying you can only talk to me if you talk like I like in media things ended up ultimately backfiring and
Making everyone think this guy was a much higher pick than he actually was am I crazy for thinking that it's as simple as that
I don't think you're crazy for me. I did think he was
worthy of a first round pick. I definitely was a Cam Ward fan.
You think that's crazy? Cody? I mean, he did some really he did
some really good things in Colorado.
You look at
the audio audience.
But anyways, no, I like Chador. I think he's a really good
player. I think that I'm not Mel Kuiper up here pounding the table for it
I thought it sounds like based on the way he handled the interviews and everything that I
Understand him falling out of the first round him not going on day two was crazy to me
I did think that's a miss and I definitely think in a redraft. He'll go higher
I believe he can be a starter in the NFL. Is he gonna be a top 15 quarterback?
Maybe I think he could be I thought he showed a lot of impressive things that Colorado came up in some big moments, which is something Jackson Dart and I know I'm the Utah guys. I don't love saying that about Dart, but I felt like he always didn't come up in those big moments. So I thought it was definitely too far of a fall. I like the player talent wise, but I understand some of the concerns in the NFL and it does sound like he bombed the pre draft process. It sounds like with whole but like the draft deal there with Dion being his agent
There wasn't a whole lot of communication of like this interview did not go
Well, like it was tell Dion what he wants to be told and then that's what's conveyed to Shador. This is working
Let's keep going into interviews this way and every team is like, yeah
I don't know if that's maybe what we want on our squad right now
And that's only gonna make him slide even further.
When you talk about skill level, it's really hard to evaluate.
It really is.
But with the potential is just too much to let him slide to the fifth round.
I feel like it had to have been behind the scenes stuff going on because I mean,
like just what we saw in pure talent on the field.
It's hard to is that fifth round talent?
Is it?
I think he's better than Dylan Gabriel.
Does anyone disagree with that?
Yeah, he's gotta be right.
I have 11.
But do any of them beat Joe Flacco?
Honestly, any of them beat Joe Flacco for a spot?
Guys, I thought Nico, I'ma leave Inya
not getting the money that he wanted originally
is good for football to some degree
because it could prevent some individuals from thinking they're bigger than the university.
I think this is probably a good thing for college football. It's just like I told my son,
you can have talent but you can't interview like a massive bag of D's. You're never going to get
a job whenever you act that way. For starters, secondarily, he did have some bad habits and
perhaps the evaluation phase kind
of overlooked that because of the Dion factor. One thing I will say, and which Kevin was here,
no matter what happened throughout the course of the draft, him being in the ring of honor at
Colorado is an absolute travesty of a situation. They have quarterbacks that have actually been
very successful that are not up on that ring that had NFL careers that were successful
That aren't all also up there. I think part of the publicity stunt
Behind Chador is part of the reason he fell and I don't necessarily think it's a bad thing
You have to check your ego at the door or you're gonna end up like Chador Sanders
That's a cautionary tale the second half of this to me. So at some point, he's not a first-time quarterback
Okay, you know, there's no sin in that, right?
I think that the other part of this was after a certain point you were bringing him in to be your backup quarterback,
and no one wanted to have Shadour as your backup with Dion getting a microphone in his face and some very loud,
like that, he's, because Dion's on camera multiple times a a week like it was gonna come out and he was gonna talk about
It if he's your backup quarterback that had to hurt this too, right?
Like I just I see all the factors and I'm not saying there aren't other factors
We're not talking about too, but I kind of see how this happened
I don't think this is all that crazy like Mel Kuyper did yeah, I use the crazy grounds a little egregious
But yeah, I think he deserved to fall.
I figured he'd landed around the third third round range.
So fifth round is a little crazy.
But again, you have to be able to interview well in order to make the most amount of
money possible.
And we think there's any validity to what was kind of brought up about NFL teams being
nervous to take him because eventually Dion could end up being their head coach.
Cause honestly, in the league where we do see that,
I believe that I feel like we see a lot of times guys make the safe picks or the safe
play out of just trying to preserve their job rather than really swinging for the fences.
I think that's why every year we're like, Oh, look who the Eagles got because the Eagles
are willing to take a chance how he Roseman is and they end up getting the best players
in draft.
Well, and a part of that too is allegedly there was conversations of can she do her do it without Dion, right?
So if you're not going to bring in Dion,
is he able to do that there?
And one thing I'd like to throw in here,
I know everybody knows this,
but it's worth at least mentioning,
how many teams are going to draft at least a starter?
And then how many teams are gonna draft
a backup quarterback?
Are the Patriots gonna draft a quarterback?
Probably not.
Are the Chiefs going to draft a quarterback?
Maybe a third stringer in the seventh round.
Like there is an element to, yes, he slid to the fifth round,
but how many teams really passed on him?
I'm not saying he didn't get passed by.
Like Dylan Gabriel getting picked over him to me was wild.
When I saw that happen, I was like, okay,
now this feels personal.
But as a story, the Browns messed up.
Oh no.
Now get up in the tip.
In all teams to take Chidor, it would happen to be the team that's destroyed the last 25
quarterbacks that have walked through that building not named Bay.
And traded away to get Travis Hunter.
They traded out of getting Travis Hunter.
Yeah, yeah.
To me, this entire, this screams for Chador Sanders,
he could have been we mentioned like Joe Burrow goes to the Bengals has no offensive line
gets banged up immediately still has a successful NFL career. If you're a team that has no O
line, just needs like a quarterback stand in there, take a beating because he did it
in college and eventually try to pan out. Go for Shinder Sack 94 times and most of them he couldn't really help.
My homes with that offensive line would still be in trouble.
And after we drop past the second round, you're drafting a distraction.
That's a very hard thing.
That's a very hard thing to consider if you're a Shinder Sanders fan and
I am as the host of Lockdown Big 12.
I think a lot of us are.
He was in the league and tore up some teams.
But now he is your backup quarterback who's stealing every storyline,
who's selling more jerseys than your starter, who fans who aren't fans of your
team are screaming for you to start him because he's Deion's son.
Is that an inherently bad thing?
I don't think so because it reinvigorated the entire economy of Boulder, Colorado.
That last name can do spectacular things for your program.
But it's not every GM's MO that they want the backup quarterback to be the biggest show in town,
the biggest star in town, and his dad to have a say in where the organization goes.
Coming up, let's, why stop there? This is pretty good, actually.
Shador Sanders, locked on Big 12 Squad for the first time.
We're kind of good at this.
Today's show is brought to you by Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K.
Oh, you want a gaming console?

So what do you make of once he gets past the second round? Does it make sense that it was almost right for him to drop further and further and further?
Because the bigger the story grew,
almost the tougher it got to take that story into your organization.
But that story, and we've all done this thing.
Dion Sanders name gets clicks.
That story is 100% part of this
too. And it's also why he was mocked as high as he was because
every mock draft written is written in an effort to get the
clicks, the links, the whatever. And if you're wrong, there's not
a big punishment for being wrong unless you're mocha prefer
flipping out online, right. So the story itself is like why
this whole thing started, right? So the story itself is like why this whole thing started,
right?
Like Dion Sanders being at this forefront,
I'm gonna tell you right now,
in the first six months of the show,
running back from Houston, transferred to Colorado,
it is still one of like 10 most viewed episodes ever.
Like it, and that's two and a half years ago.
Like it's really, I think that's why it started
and then it just grew and grew and grew
because everything around Dion grows and grows and grows.
And we all see it every day.
I looked at it.
It definitely has to be part of the conversation
to some degree.
We realized we've had several conversations
about Cam Newton.
People have asked why is Cam Newton not in the NFL?
And the question is always answered with,
we just don't necessarily want the baggage
because the minute our starter does something wrong, everybody and their fans are going
to be screaming for Cam Newton to be on board. And then he comes with a bunch of antics.
It may not just be Shudder. It obviously has proportionality with the Deion Sanders thing
mixed in here. It's just too much. It's too much for any coach or GM to want to have hanging
over their head.
I think we've, but we've seen this. We saw it with the Sean Watson. We saw it with Colin
Kaepernick for much different reasons. We've seen it from multiple, Michael Vick. Do you want to
take the story? Whether you agree or disagree with those stories or what the guys did or didn't do
or anything, it's just a matter of if you're a GM, are you willing to take a risk for a player
that comes with a storyline that is probably bigger than your program and that will follow that player and that
fans or even non football fans, just fans of E news will take with you and carry
with your organization for ever.
I'm curious where you guys land on this because I felt like he was a first round
talent. I Parker, you don't seem to think so. Cody, you, I think you're no right
now. So Drake, I think you do feel like he was Nick. Where would you land on that?
I think he it's, it's a kind of upside, right? So like, where's the floor? Where's the ceiling?
I was just looking at this pick kind of list here. Titans, giants, you got saints, Seahawks,
and then back to back from the Browns there.
Would you, would he go to any of those teams ahead of the Browns? Would that make sense?
Like with the storyline factor as a part of that, I don't think the giants want
anything crazy after Hard Knocks from last year.
I don't think Saints need anything else.
And the Seahawks, it doesn't feel like they need a quarterback right now with
Sam Darnall, I believe is our starter.
But it's just like with, and's Chuck apparently might have a higher ceiling than she do her from what we've heard in the last few weeks. So if you're considering ceiling
floor in compare in conjunction with the baggage or the storyline or everything else that comes
with it because no NFL franchise
wants a distraction. That is a distraction away from winning and that is the ultimate
goal because it's so hard to win in the NFL. Would any of those teams, I ask you then,
who would take him? Because the Browns didn't even do it with their first quarterback pick.
And I think that would have been a mistake long term. Like I feel like as I
think Chador is going to stick in the league. I do. Maybe he'll flame out. Maybe it won't work. Well, do you think it
would be a mistake? So will we look back as we do for Mahomes and Mitch Trabisky? Is that right? That's the one we
use all the time. We don't look back on Mitch Trabisky. Well, it's reversed. The Bears took Trabisky instead. Will we
look back at the Saints and say, why did you take Shuck
when Shador Sanders was sitting there?
Do we see that in three years, Shuck becomes a Chad Henney and we see that Chad, that was
the Jaguars guy, right?
It was just like, just not, oh, you know what?
Sorry, Cody, plug your ears.
Do we look and say that Shuck was a Brandon Whedon who was in the league for a couple years, Peters out, you don't hear from him again. And
it should or is still there in seven years. As as a guy who's
at the very least a Florida State, Florida State, Jamis
Winston, hanging around the league, still making an impact
for a team. I could see that being the case, or years down the
line, we say hindsight, Chuck was not the right pick in at
least in comparison to Shador.
I don't think we're taking down
who has a higher ceiling, right, for Shador.
I feel like his ceiling is way higher.
Yeah, I may be pooping a little bit
about being a first rounder,
but he's definitely way better than Tyler Shuck.
Way better.
Which, that is a wild one.
Like even videos of his combine and Pro Day,
he's just spiking the ball on the ground.
The one where it went through. The toss interception is still the best one. Yeah. Like even videos of his combine and pro day. He's just spiking the ball on the ground
Toss interception is still the best one
Rock purdy did that though. So I mean look at where he's at
Yeah, we we do have like questionable quarterback decisions made all the time I had to pull off the double-check myself
But someone mentioned cam Newton earlier as far as a guy that people don't want as a backup
He only gets plenty start ring for what it's worth
Cam Newton was a baller in his day, right? Like it didn't last as long as
it should have, but it was. The sports illustrated cover about the draft was who do you choose?
Cam Newton, Jake Locker or Blaine Gabbard? Like we've done this wrong a bunch of times
before too. And both Gabbard and Locker didn't, I mean, they both flamed out. Like I don't
think it'd be crazy for those guys, for anyone else drafted, and it's a wild card of a league
because there's so many factors and variables.
It trends, going from even a powerful counter
to the big 12, the NFL does not always translate
by any stretch.
That was maybe the only thing that Mel Kuiper said
that didn't sound like just some kind of induced rant was when
he mentioned for 50 years, GMs have gotten it wrong. I mean, Mel Kuyper's also got it.
Did you see the tweet of that with the Jimmy Claussen line where he said, if Jimmy Claussen's
a failure, Aubrey's a higher. And, you know, overall, what it proves is whether you're
Mel Kuyper Jr. or you're the GM of the Carolina Panthers, you
don't know. It's just it's almost unless you buddy might
ask me if you're gonna have the number one overall pick, who
would you take Abdul Carter? Abdul Carter?
Because over Travis Hunter Whoa, locked on big 12 going with a
big 10 guy dang he was on ESPN this weekend. Now he's selling
out on wall. He hates to see it.
Because he's just gonna be good.. It's, it's, there's not one person in the country saying
Abdul Carter is going to be bad. He is just going to be good. The first day he steps in there, where you look at like a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a, a I feel like there are two, three, four sure fire picks,
D tackles usually like that, offensive linemen,
very typically find a way to pan out in the NFL
because they great the way that we grade those guys.
And I just, at any rate, when we start to deduce,
when we're ESPN, we start to really deduce and analyze
and try to break it.
We don't know.
No, we don't know.
Well, can we also admit that this probably wasn't a very good year for
quarterbacks in the draft?
Because I think Cam Ward's a little bit of a reach that high as well.
Would Cam Ward have gone top five last year?
Quarterbacks?
I think he's at least the fourth best.
I don't, him and Drake May is probably the debate, right?
He doesn't touch the top two to me.
Not to me.
I don't know.
But he has a Patriots fan.
Obviously, Drake May is gonna lead us to super.
I don't. It's just what it is.
But as a Houston guy, I don't take them over CJ Stroud at two of the year before.
Right. Like, right. Even though CJ, CJ Stroud had a negative IQ.
That was his, whatever it was. That was so stupid. That thing I used too low.
Yeah. Things worked out though.
Things were that's the definition of the pre-draft process. How create the Tyler
Shuck thing. Like all of a sudden we're talking ourselves
into Tyler Shuck.
We have all this film on why he's not that guy pal.
And they think he is.
Well, and part of it too, to go back to what Drake said
with like, does he pan out or whatever.
I actually, I wonder if it's gonna be,
should do or has to revamp his career
the way the Sam Darnold or down in Tampa, blanking on his name.
Mayfield.
Mayfield, yeah, Baker, how they revamped theirs because we've seen history,
it was mentioned already with the Browns and quarterbacks and the Browns and players in
general. Like it's not going to be in five years where is Shadoor at. It's going to be at the end
of his career. Where does he end up and where is he then because I'm sorry, I just do not have any faith in the
Brown and maybe it's a Jordan situation. Maybe it's two or three years where he's got to wait his turn behind a flaco and then Watson comes and
he's the second and then shooters a third string guy. I do think he's better than Dylan Gabriel that will shine through. I just here's what will
behoove the Browns who will very likely screw this entire thing up. They will get great jersey sales, great revenue off Chador Sanders, not have to start him because
he was drafted in the fifth round and in two or three years put him in. I mean he'll he will be
the first post ESPN makes during the NFL preseason. Guaranteed. I think he starts one game at least
this season. I think he's better than a lot of I think he's better than Kenny Pickett. I think
he's better than Joe. I think Joe Flacco is gonna have his struggles
just like he did last year
and got benched for Anthony Richardson again.
I think Shador makes his way on the field.
It would be crazy if he ended up being the answer.
Also, I'll just say this.
I know the Browns are the Browns,
but they have decent offensive line.
I like Kevin Stefanski drafted a couple of running backs,
some solid receivers.
This feels like it could be a little bit
of a better situation.
If nothing else, a much better offensive line
than he had a Colorado.
The Browns here. Before we move on past this, Nick, go ahead and tie us up real quick.
Oh, I was just going to say, so you mentioned obviously Flacco with the Colts. That's what
it was. But what was Flacco with Stefanski and the Browns a few years ago? I mean, to
me, when you, I just want to know, do you guys think this was literally a value pick
where you're going
to get Jersey sales, you are going to get the attention and then you can trade him away
in a year.
You haven't seen him hit the field.
Oh, what is he going to do?
We don't actually know.
We, he had so much upside in college.
Uh, we just don't have the room on our court.
We don't have the room on our row to trade him away.
Yeah.
I agree that it's a value pick, but I think more of it's because of finances, right?
You save yourself from spending top 10 even in first round money on a quarterback. If the Browns
think that he could potentially be an answer, the further and further he slid back from a monetary
gains perspective, they probably found themselves in a good spot. Yeah, they're getting a player
who's going to make them a whole lot more money than they
have to pay him with a rookie contract.
Coming up, I have a wild thing to just to give to the entire gallery.
I don't know.
We'll see if you guys agree.
Wouldn't you know today's show is brought to you by Monarch Money.
I am the ripe age of 24 years old.
I think that's right, 24.
Yeah, something like that.

Sacramento State to the Big 12. Come on! All right, buy in!
Here we go.
So Nick and I talked about it earlier this week on the crossover. I know you're all thinking,
Hell, yes. in. Here we go. So Nick and I talked about it earlier this week on a crossover. I know you're all. Yes. This is the stupidest thing of all time and I hate it. But wait a second.
No, it's coming. I have more faith in them being one of the next big things than perhaps
a Boise state or something like that. I thought it was getting big time talent. They've got
the go go. Brendan Marion offense that obviously is very appealing to transfer
I think Sacramento State is gonna be really good really quick.
20th largest media market in the entire United States
They're building a brand new football facility and it's a multi-purpose facility
So they have like an indoor practice deal and they're like the Pac-12 is kind of their goal right now
The rebuilt Pac-12 in the Mountain West, but their stretch goal is the Big 12 and
Per front office sports who like they're big enough they can't really lie 50 million dollars
in in I'll raise so far Brendan Marion being the head coach you
have Shaquille O'Neal as the basketball GM and they're
already signed big guys in the hardwood football wise they're
ready to compete in the FPS moving up a level reminding me
of like a James Madison, $35 million is what
their first like NIL valuation was. Now 50 most recent reports have them at $60 million.
That's more than maybe any team in the Big 12. I believe that college football is sitting
on a bit of a gold mine and the next biggest thing I would like the Big 12 to have a piece
of that.
Well, it's too early. It's too early. As the basketball guy here, I'd also point out 12 to have a piece of that. I think it's too early. I think it's too early.
As the basketball guy here, I'd also point out that they hired Mike
Baby as their basketball coach.
Um, I, I, I feel like the biggest thing though, is the list of bullet
points you just went through is long.
There's a clear investment here by the university into athletics.
And it's not just like, Hey, we're going to throw some money at it.
It's like, we're making hires or filing petitions to move up.
They're doing every single step.
And JT said he went like wait and see how this goes.
Or I'm gonna have the mindset, I'm like, hey,
let's get on it early and lock it down.
Like, let's get in on the ground floor,
lock it down, sign it up for a long time.
For a quarter share.
Yeah.
For a quarter, like, hey, would you join for two, three,
four years for a quarter share of what our revenues can
you SMU yourself into the big 12? I look there are worse
places to go. It's that state in because there's not a host of
locked on Bearcats. I guess we can kind of just go wherever you
want. Cincinnati catches a lot of strays like every other week
on this show. Yeah, but what are they good at?
Plan for national titles in basketball, Houston, basketball weight, then you have to divert to since the beaten the weak
link here.
Yeah, what? Well, someone tell me what they're really strong at
right now revenue wise.
No, exactly.
Thank you.
Speaks volumes.
I don't I don't know what to do with it. It's like a host. What
do you talk about? How do you talk about Cincinnati? Sorry, continue.
True. No, on the Sac State thing, I just why do we need to
be early on it? Can we just wait and see if it materializes? So
they're in the big sky. They haven't won. And I will say
Drake, and you and I had this conversation a few weeks back,
and I will give them credit because I said like, it hasn't
really translated too much. And it still hasn't in a wins
result. But I have been impressed by the investment
they've been making Mike, baby, the whole shack thing, like
they're getting legit transfers guide, the Jayden Rashada thing is crazy.
Now we'll see if that actually ends up working out.
But I like the idea of what they're doing.
But even Drake and guys, if they go to the Pac-12,
the Big 12 will still get them after just fine.
Like they're not gonna be Pac-12 lifers.
They're looking for the best opportunities.
They continue to climb up.
I'm just someone where I don't think
they're gonna be unattainable in a year or so.
I think they're still trying to work their way up.
I think you're running the risk of getting poached by the SEC or the Big Ten.
This feels like they're not going to the SEC.
Would they really go to the SEC all the way from out there?
I don't think so, but they will never be cheaper.
My response would be they will never be cheaper than they are right now.
So, hey, you could buy this penny stock for three cents or you could buy it for a dollar.
That's a major difference once
once it starts exploding. Yeah, but if you're talking about buying state, if you can buy it.
Your mark has been a visionary in a lot of departments for the conference. This could
be yet another one where he could see himself at the forefront of making something positive for
the Big 12. The gigantic ACC deal they signed where like they got trapped into a deal that
ended up not being worth it about 12 months later. That almost feels like what you want to get a Sacramento State in with the big 12 as
well, right? We're like, Hey, let's send a long term thing in this conference for a big time and
join us for like a solid 10, 12, whatever it is. And then by the middle of that, you're making
money on the deal because it just feels like this rocket because of how much investment they got
already. And that's before they've won anything.
They've already got that much investment.
It gets you in California.
I think Drake briefly mentioned the media market,
but that is like the next frontier,
the actual West Coast for the Big 12.
I think that's important too here.
I see a lot of reasons to do this.
Can I-
SES to P4 is massive.
I just want to say SES to P four is a huge jump.
I don't think we see anything like that.
That's no doubt.
Can I?
But can I give it for the first time ever?
Can I make BYU fans mad?
Can I not?
Oh my gosh.
Wait, really?
Are you allowed to do that?
I believe BYU was in a much worse spot in the wilderness that is independence.
That's not controversial.
I see a lot of the same inklings of BYU in Sac State if given power for money.
When the catalyst is money, the catalyst for BYU is money and membership and NIL and the ability to have a conference to
play in and be on national TV every week because the TV deal
was signed by the Big 12. And the money that came with that
once BYU had the keys to that, they were like, Oh, shoot, we're
really rich and immediately became top three in this
conference in revenue. Sac State reminds me a lot of that they
just they have the baking soda, pour a little vinegar on it. And
I think they can become that
kind of powerhouse.
Where did exact state get all this money from?
That's a great question. I am also a little confused here.
Okay.
If I'm if I'm on Shark Tank right now, I'm like, wait, what
kind of long scheme was
Yeah,
we're Drake, I get what you're saying. But you're still like
it's BYU was still a team that was playing like other P four teams and other teams.
Like they were still competing at that level.
Like they, they, they still hasn't even gotten there.
Is he even last man walks into the FPS and just wins now not in a power conference, but
they're beating the hell out of North Carolina.
You're right.
You should have.
Sanders would not start at Sac State.
Go ahead and say it out loud.
Cody's a Jaden Rashada fan.
Well, you know, between Rashad and Scatabo though, they've got Arizona State connections,
right?
And that's that's a big part.
Yeah, you're right.
Scatabo Scatabo was there, which really that was awesome to see him get him find his place
in the NFL.
But I just that was before they had $35 million.
Yeah, guys, I get what you're saying.
We've never seen anything like what you're proposing.
And I know Drake, you made the point about like investing in a stock a little bit.
It could blow up so much in your face if something happens because they haven't shown anything.
They are literally incapable right now of consistently competing against P40.
That's a fact.
Maybe eventually-
The stock market's against P for ever.
What are you talking about? Stock market only stock market
only goes up. What are you talking about? Yeah. That was
you just said that they're not a power for team. I disagree, man.
If you go look at the roster, it's impressive. It's decent,
but they haven't won anything yet. Like anything. No, but, but they have the same resume. Like I don't even know if they made the playoff
I think I figured it out because JT said the same thing about Houston a year ago and they
beat Utah. He's worried about taking the loss. He's scared. I think there's better expansion options. I just-
Lost on Big 12 title, Utah stunned by Sacramento State.
I can see it.
The thumbnail is ready.
Yep, I'm ready to rock.
This has been a great show.
Hey, look, maybe the five guys that showed up tonight.
Maybe it's not Shador Sanders being under-undrafted.
Maybe it's the friends we all made along the way.
No one prank called us and told us we had a life changing opportunity coming up.
So appreciate that guys.
One of the more informational Big 12 squads we've done.
