Here's how you can watch the Mariners in 2026.
Colby, hit it.
You are Locked on Mariners.
Your daily Seattle Mariners podcast.
Part of the Locked on Podcast Network, your team every day.
Ahoy, Sailors, and it's Friday, January 30th, 2020, 26.
You're listening to the Lockdown Marys podcast, part of the Lockdown Podcast Network,
now the number one sports podcast network.
My name is Tiding Azales, and I'm joined as always by my co-cove Colby Patnode.
We're two lifelong Maris fans who've been covering the team for over half a decade.
And today, we've got new details on how you can watch the Mariners in 2026.
We also rank the top seven current Mariners for a project that locked on is working on.
And we'll wrap things up with a couple of your trades for fan fiction Friday.
But we'll start with Mariners TV.
That is the new way for you, specifically if you live in the Mariners television market,
to watch the Mariners in 2026 and beyond through the MLB TV app.
A lot of you have been asking us about this.
How do I watch the Mariners in 2026?
obviously Root Sports is no longer a thing.
So finally, we have some more information.
Mariner's officially announcing Mariner's TV yesterday.
Signups begin on February 10th.
It's going to be $100 for the year, $20 a month.
If you want to go that route instead.
And again, it's going to be through the MLBTV app.
Now, the very important distinction that we need to make here, though, is that if you already have MLBTV,
say you're, you know, you're someone like Colby who has a T-Mobile
subscription and you get MLB TV for free, you still have to buy Marriss TV. Now, you don't need to
have an MLB TV subscription in order to buy Marriss TV. It's just if you already have it or if you're
planning on buying it, you still got to buy Maris TV. You don't get access to Maris games if you
live in the Maris television market with MLB TV alone. Basically, look at Maris TV as a ticket to
eliminate the blackouts. It's pretty much what it is. Now,
if you're someone like me who
lives outside of the Mariners television market
has been using MLB TV
to watch Marrers games
you just keep on doing the same thing
you just get MLB TV you get access to all the Marrars games
another thing to mention here
this was asked by someone
in the comments
by the name of Ben Garza
under the announcements
by the Mariners
he wanted to know like if I
if I travel right if I go on vacation
and I just have Marriss TV.
I don't have MLB TV.
Can I still watch the Marys games?
The Marys say yes.
Basically, all you have to do is just, you know, buy Marys TV as long as you live in the Maris TV market.
And then once you have it, you have it.
So even if you go travel to New York, for example, you can still watch the Maris games through your Maris TV subscription.
At least that's how I understand it.
Now, the Maris didn't do a great job of explaining all of this, frankly, a little bit of it.
details that were left out.
The most important one being that there's a little nugget here that says
Barris TV will also be available via cable satellite and internet TV providers,
specifically similar cable satellite and internet TV providers as 2025.
So I assume Fubo, right, direct TV, you know.
One would assume.
But they don't say, they didn't say when exactly they're going to announce who the partners are.
They said closer to opening day, but that could be, you know, anywhere between now and, you know, mid-March, right?
Or late March.
Yeah.
So I think like opening day is what the 26th?
Yeah.
Yeah.
So, you know, sometimes.
I don't know.
If you got root.
Yeah, if you got root on direct TV or whatever.
And then like on March 25th, they're like, yeah, we couldn't re-up with direct TV.
So like, that's a bit of a problem, especially if you don't have a smart TV.
the other thing too
they didn't say whether you
would have to pay for that or not if it just
gets added to your TV or is it
just standard with the
package you already have like I
is it just a channel that gets added to your
subscription or is it something that you're basically
going to have to pay the same amount of money for
just add it to your direct TV or your Fubo account or
whatever so at that point
like so at that point
as well just buy Merritt TV and just
get it through MLB TV as long as you
have you know the means to just
screw it. Yeah, if you have a smart TV, you know, if you have a PlayStation or an Xbox, MLB TV is literally on everything.
Like if you have an IRA TV stick, whatever, blah, blah, blah.
Roku, all that stuff. You can get MLB TV through that. But you are going to have to download that.
Even if you don't have the MLB TV package, you still have to use that app in order to watch Maris games through Maris TV, if that's the route that you're going to go.
Again, it could be on your TV provider as well, but we don't know if that's just going to be given to you for free or not.
So who knows.
And I assume there's negotiations that are still going on with the current who,
well,
the former providers of root sports and all that.
I understand that.
But a vague timeline and like,
a kind of like,
you know,
most of the like,
who do you have right now?
Because I know you have to have some of these deals done.
Like if,
hey,
if you have direct TV,
Fubo,
blah,
blah.
We're on.
We're with those stations.
And we're right now,
we're negotiating with.
you know,
XYZ to see if we can get and we'll let you guys know about that.
But like,
could you let us know very early?
Because again,
we have to either buy this thing or not and I don't want to waste
a hundred bucks if you don't have to waste a hundred bucks.
If you're going to get it already with what you're already paying for cable,
satellite,
you know,
um,
smart TV,
whatever.
So yeah,
a little weird,
uh,
kind of a throwaway announcement,
I guess.
I mean,
I understand they have to get this out there.
But now I assume there'll be some some clarification that happens via, you know, the flagship station 710.
I assume somebody will jump on there.
Maybe they'll do a segment on the hot stove podcast or whatnot about, you know, some questions here.
But yeah, I mean, there you go.
You're probably going to have to buy Mariners TV unless you don't, which, again, not the best rollout, but it is what it is.
long story short, if you are going to, if you watch the game,
if last year you watched the games via MLB TV, nothing changes for you.
You're fine.
If you watch the game on Root Sports last year,
you probably should just wait for a little bit before you buy Mariners TV
and see if it is added by your current service provider.
And if it's not, then you'll have to buy Mariners TV separately to watch the
Mariners game.
So, you know, you might miss out on some spring training.
games though. So locked on our corporate overlords have tasked us with ranking the top seven current
mariners. We're going to do that in just a moment. But first a reminder of this episode of the

So rare instance here of something actually dropping during us recording.
It's nothing huge.
I guess.
Relax, but yeah, I mean, something dropped from the mirrors.
It's their non-roster invitees for spring training.
It's not above the Leoti line, but since we're here, you know.
We're here.
Let's talk about it.
Sure.
And then we'll get into what our plan second segment was.
in a second. But yeah,
here, as you can see it on the screen,
Marriss dropped their non-raster invitees.
A couple of names on here that we
didn't know about that they
have brought in on a minor league deal.
Will Wilson,
former first round pick, infielder.
He's on here. He's been invited
to Marrers camp. So has
Brian O'Keefe, the return of the king.
He's back. 2022
Mayor's legend, also friend of the show.
Brian O'Keefe.
We should mention, yes, that's right.
right. The other kind of like interesting thing on here,
D'rangelo Sanja is listed as a right-handed pitcher.
Maybe that's just because they didn't want to make a switch-handed
pitcher like category on the graphic.
But he is listed as just a right-handed pitcher.
So I don't know, maybe.
Like a reach.
Yeah, maybe that's something to note here.
I don't know.
But yeah, Sanchez is on here.
Kate Anderson's on here.
Teddy McGraws on here.
Michael Morales, Ryan Sloan,
Colt Emerson, Michael O'Royo.
Las Montes
Johnny Farmello
and then some of the other
minor league free agents that we already knew
about they're now officially confirmed
to be going to Mariners Camp
Brennan Davis
Dane Dunning, Randy Dobnack
some of those guys so Patrick Wisdom
Casey Lawrence
who if he makes an appearance
for the Mariners this year will set a franchise
record and he probably will
yeah good chance
most stents ever with the Mariners
Casey Lawrence
aka Steph Curry
That's right
That's right
So yeah
There you have it
I'm Rosser I invite these again
It drops
We're here
There it is
All right so switching gears here
Now to our actual planned
Second segment of the show
So locked on
As a network is
Planning to put together
A top 100
MLB player list
Before opening day
And so they've tasked all the MLB shows with listing the top three to seven players for their respective teams.
So Lockdown has asked all of us to turn this into a segment and kind of document our process of determining the top seven guys that we want to nominate for the list for the Mariners set of things.
So I already put together a list.
I already put it on the spreadsheet, but we can change it, Colby.
So I'll just go through what I listed here and you can tell me what you object to, which I assume is going to be a lot.
I assume you're going to object to every single player, even Cal Raleigh being number one.
I mean, again, if we're just counting 2025, yes, but Julio is the best player on this team.
It's really not particularly close.
And I stand by the statement that Julio Rodriguez is the most important mariner, which you agreed,
with.
Yes, I do agree with that.
I just,
I think,
I think the spirit of,
you're only laser focused on 20,
25, fine.
I just thought maybe there's a little more,
you know,
who's the best player aspect to this.
Not who had the best year,
but whatever.
Call one is fine.
Julio's too.
That's fine.
I think at least a little bit of this,
you know,
the spirit of this is, you know,
what have you done for me lately?
Cal was like,
yeah,
the second best player in baseball season.
Cal had a nine one season.
Almost one MVP.
Then when he goes back to a four and a half, almost.
He didn't,
he didn't though, did he tie?
Cal has just as many MVP as Julio,
which is zero.
Because apparently people on the East Coast had no problem
watching Cal but people in the middle of America,
the flyover states.
The AL Central writers for some reason.
Yeah.
Garbage.
Anyways, Cal's fine at one, but like,
the Yankees writers voted for Cal.
It's crazy.
It's nuts.
Cal at 1 is,
yeah,
that's fine.
I still think Julio's a better player,
but obviously Cal hit 60.
Like,
it's Cal this year.
If we do this next year,
it'll probably be Julio.
Yeah.
Yeah,
Julio 2,
obviously.
Okay.
I have Brian Wu 3.
Any objections to that?
Okay.
Nope.
Same.
I have Randy 4.
No.
Okay.
Who's number 4 then?
Logan Gilbert is number 4.
Oh, I don't like guys to have low three ERAs and strike out 13 guys per nine and, you know, qualified for side young titles.
But again, Logan only went five innings like that even matters.
It did to us every time we talked about him during the season.
Logan only going five innings matters.
And Randy Rosarana being a terrible baseball player in August, September and October also matters.
Still really good.
He's still basically had a career year.
whoopty-do
he was almost
it was almost 30-30
yeah and that was good for what
three wins
because he can't play defense
and he was good for the fourth best player
on the team
I don't think so
I think he's the seventh best player
on the team that's where I have him
really all right who's
who's above Randy for you
cow
Julio Wu Logan Gilbert
Josh Naylor
and George Kirby
all right well I have
Naylor 5 I have
Gilbert 6 and I have Munoz 7th.
I don't have Kirby on here.
That's little nuts. I mean,
Munoz is better at his job than Kirby is.
Cool
for 65 innings.
I think Mooney deserves not here.
No. Why?
If Moody gets the knot, it's over Randy. It's not
over Kirby or Nailer or Gilbert.
I would give it over
Kirby. You're wrong. Absolutely.
After the earlier Kirby just said?
Kirby was okay.
all right so your top seven again would be cal Julio Wu
Naill or uh Gilbert Naylor
Kirby Randy yes
all right so I guess I guess Kirby
because Kirby is is higher than boone
Kirby is higher for you the mooney is on my list so I guess
Kirby makes it right if we're trying to split the difference here
I guess do we only get one per show
yeah
Yeah, it's like you and I have to decide on a list.
It seems like a bad design, but okay.
We have to compromise.
It's a bad design for specifically us because you hate me and you don't want to compromise ever.
I don't hate you.
I think the idea that a reliever is one of your seven best players is stupid.
If you have a good team.
If it's one of the best relievers at all of baseball.
He's not better than J.P. Crawford.
No.
What does the war tell you, Ty?
I'll do respect to J.P. Crawford.
Alder's Moody.
What does the war tell me?
job than JP is that is.
We had a legitimate debate
not two months ago about whether
Munoz or Spire was
like the relief guy
of the year and you didn't even
consider for one second putting Gave's fire
on your list. I did. No, you didn't.
No, you did. I did. I did. I did. No.
No.
Whatever. That is absurd. I gave you calut number one.
I'm not letting you have this absurdity
by ignoring the career. You gave me Cal at
number one, the guy that just hit 65 home runs.
That'll be a fun one for the comments.
Technically only 60.
Okay, playoff runs don't count.
We know that.
Right, right.
Yeah.
I mean, how many home runs did Babe Ruth hit in the playoffs?
Nobody knows.
It's not on his baseball reference page.
It is.
You just have to scroll down.
But they don't count, you know, but, yeah, no, I just, I have a problem putting
a reliever on the list because the mirrors are too good for that.
Okay.
So if we did,
will you compromise on Nailer 4 and then Gilbert 5?
No.
Too bad.
I'm putting it on there.
You already filled it out.
I just asked you to try.
You know, I'm not going to check it.
You could submit whatever you want.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
No, I asked you strictly just to prove a point that you're not willing to compromise.
No.
Naylor, no.
He was here for a third of the season, Ty.
We're talking about the player.
This accounts for his Diamondbacks production as well.
A two-win player is ahead of Logan Gilbert.
So three-win player.
Yeah, because two of those wins came in the last third of the season.
And that is supposed to discredit him somehow?
Yes.
How?
Because he wasn't good for the Mariners for very long.
Just his entire Mariners career so far.
This is like putting Josh Naylor's your top.
50 merit like 20 oh my god no actually i don't care that much i just wanted the exasperation
you can put nail her head of gilbert if you want i don't really care i think it's stupid i think
it's disrespectful to logan but whatever i guess if logan wants to not be disrespected he should
go six innings like more than once every three months yeah yeah yeah you know maybe maybe
pitch a little better in the playoffs too
yeah
I mean we're just going off a playoff performance
which you clearly are with cow Raleigh then
Bryce Miller should probably be number two
oh man so
what are we going
cow Julio Wu we have locked in we agreed
on those three yeah yeah I think
Naylor 4 Gilbert 5
and then fine I'll do
Kirby 6 and Randy 7
I put
6 7 who cares put them in either
order. That one was intentional.
All right. Well, there you go. So our top
seven submissions here for the locked on top
100 list. Cal Raleigh.
Julio Rodriguez, Brian Wu, Josh Naylor, Logan, Gilbert,
George Kirby, Randy and Rosarana.
And you're listening to the Locktime Eras podcast. Part of the

Link in the description of this episode. It's going to be a lot of Super Bowl talk on the next
couple of episodes over there unless, you know, the bears want to do something. Do your job.
Yeah. Anyway, it is Friday after all. We did have a couple things that we wanted to talk about today.
so don't have too much time to get into some of your trade ideas.
We didn't even put out a tweet for trades for Fanfiction Friday.
So I wound up just going back to last week's submissions.
I mean, we got 40 of them on Twitter,
and then we had a couple on the Discord.
And so picked out a couple for us to react to
and grade real quick before we get out of here.
So let's do it.
Claude's Olufagus over on our Discord.
again, you can join the Discord and link in the description of this episode.
That one is free to join.
It's not the same one that you get access to you via the Everydayer Club.
Three-team trade.
Phillies send Nick Castiano's to the Pirates and Edmundo Sosa to the Mariners.
The Pirates send Dennis Santana to the Mariners,
the Marison, Nikki Becker and Teddy McGrath to the Pirates,
and Tai Pete to the Phillies.
from the Phillies perspective, this is mostly just,
we're trading at Bundo Sosa so we can get Cassiano's money off the books.
There's a whole breakdown here from Klazlovakus about the money specific for the Phillies sake.
Apparently the mayors would be taking on $10 million here.
I don't know.
It's all complicated.
Let's just talk about the trade itself, though.
What is the incentive for Pittsburgh to do that trade?
Dennis Santana is a pretty good reliever coming off of a very good year.
So, yeah, it'd be a great addition to the Mariners,
but the pirates think they're going to compete for a wild card.
And maybe they don't, but there's no harm in really holding Santana to see.
And I don't think that Castiano does anything.
Like, why would they take on a salary dump and then trade one of their better relievers to do it?
It just doesn't make a lot of sense for who was it, Nikki Becker?
Like, okay, that's a guy who's four or five years away.
And who?
McGraw.
Teddy McGraw.
Okay.
Well, McGraw can't stay healthy.
And Becker is four or five years away from the majors at least.
And they're going to trade Santana to get those guys and take on half of Castiano's contract.
I think it's dead right there.
I don't think the pirates have any interest in this.
Yeah.
So, yeah, would the Phillies do it?
Yeah, they get to dump half of Castiano's contract and they actually get a little something.
And it's Sosa who they, you know, only have for a year.
And while he's a helpful player right now for them, he's a bench player.
He's a role player.
So yeah, it feels too convenient for the Mariners and the Phillies that the pirates are just kind of thrown in there to make it work for the other two teams.
And this is kind of the issue with three-team trades.
This is why they're so hard to come up with.
You have to find a trade that all three sides are going to not only benefit from, but it makes sense for them to do.
And the money has to make sense.
And I don't think any of this makes sense for Pittsburgh.
So I think it falls apart right there.
Yeah.
it's overly complicated.
I mean, it's creative,
but it's just super complicated.
I don't think it works for the pirates specifically.
I don't think the Mariner's taking on $10 million works for them either,
probably,
even though it does help them get Dennis Santana and Mundo Sosa,
who both help,
who both fill a couple of roles that the Marrars would,
you know,
I would like for the Marys to fill at the very least.
But, you know,
it's going to cost them 10.
million dollars and Nikki Becker and
Teddy McGraw on top of that and
you know maybe they still like Tai Pete
I'm not sure if the Marys would do this
specifically because of the money attached to
also giving up a couple of prospects that they really like so
yeah I'm gonna go 30
yeah 35
next trade here from Trevor Marers get Jason
Dominas and Anthony Volpe for Gabe Spire
Dom Kanzone and Michael O'Royle
Dominguez is a D.H only.
He makes a Rosarena look like Stephen Kwan defensively.
He also really hasn't put it together.
I know he's very talented and he's young,
but he hasn't put together a full major league season yet.
Volpe, by the way, three years of club control,
we have zero evidence to suggest he can hit major league pitching.
Like he's never been an average hiter.
and also
Canzone for Volpe is a very interesting
challenge.
Sure.
I mean,
again,
Volpe before this last year,
Volpe was a pretty good defensive player.
So,
you know,
right there that's more majorly value.
But that's probably where Arroyo comes in,
right?
Because the way that I look at it is
it's Spire for Dominguez.
And then I wouldn't do it,
but it's not bad.
And then it's Canzon and Arroyo from Volpe.
Well,
Royal is probably also making up some of the value for Dominguez.
I think it's too much question for the Mariners.
Yeah. Dominguez can't stay healthy. He hasn't produced.
And Volpe, by the way, he's going to miss about the first month of the season on top of this.
He hasn't proven that he'd get major league pitching in Yankee Stadium.
Yeah.
Now, again, I like Volpe as a change of scenery guy.
Former top prospect. We know the Mariners liked him out of the draft.
And he's definitely got some tools.
but he just hasn't performed well in New York.
It sounds like they really,
I mean,
it sounds like Yankee fans really hate him and want him out of town.
So he does feel like a West Coast,
or not a West Coast because he does feel like a change of scenery guy.
But there are major questions with him still.
And so as much as you want that,
like are you in a position to take on another J.P. Crawford right now
in terms of like, you know,
when you acquired him the first time,
not really, you're not.
So I think the valuation isn't terrible.
I just think, you know, in just the grand scheme of things, does this make the Mariners better?
No, maybe.
Yeah.
It's not the worst thing in the world.
No.
It's pretty creative.
It would definitely be like a really interesting challenge trade for both clubs, really.
You replace Canzon with, with Dominguez as the DH right now.
Yeah.
As things stand.
And then Volpe, I guess, obviously, he starts here on the I L.
I guess he moves third or second or third, right?
And there's some versatility there.
You can play shortstop too.
So is he kind of your utility infielder?
Yeah.
Kind of.
Is that worth Gabe Spire?
I'll give it a 50.
It's certainly, you know, thought provoking and it's pretty creative.
So maybe even a 55.
I just,
I don't think the Mariners would do it.
But it's, it's, yeah, it's interesting.
You'll probably do like a huge breakdown on this trade.
Yeah.
We had more time.
But, yeah, that's, that's interesting.
But ultimately, I don't think, I, I,
I wouldn't want the Mariners to do it, but if they did, it would certainly be a fascinating trade to break down.
Yeah, I'd go 55.
I could say them being like, yeah, we can get more out of Dominguez, and we get Volpe out of New York.
And we talked about those.
They liked Volpe coming out of the draft that year.
And let's do it.
Cal Raleigh's burner has a deal here with the Rangers.
Mariners get Josh Young from Texas for Tyler Cleveland and Ben Williamson.
Basically, that's free.
To me, that's, do you want Josh Young for free?
Sure.
I'll take a shot on him for free.
Williamson's ceiling is probably Josh Young.
I mean, Williamson is never hitting 23 home runs.
No, but I mean, Young's only done that once.
So, yeah, I don't know why the Rangers would do this.
Frankly, Cleveland doesn't feel like enough of an incentive.
I don't think Young's making a ton of money.
I think he's R1 this year, right?
So, yeah, this is the most like,
trade I've ever seen.
But it's not bad.
It's just,
I don't see the incentive for Texas.
And I don't honestly know how much better the Mariners are after making this trade.
But again,
to me,
this is roughly.
I don't like young.
Clearly,
is the big takeaway.
That's what you're saying.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But it's free.
And I just don't see the reason the Rangers do it.
So I have to go 45,
but like,
yeah,
I don't think the Rangers,
I don't think this does anything.
It wasn't, if it was like Teddy McGraw or something.
It's just, it's just Tyler Cleveland isn't enough for them to essentially make maybe a lateral move at third base.
And to be honest, probably get worse at third base.
Tyler Cleveland is what, 26 years old.
Yeah, I like Josh.
Yeah, like I like Josh Young more than I like Ben Williamson.
I'm not a huge Josh Young guy, but I like him more than Williamson.
Just in terms of like a more traditional third base profile.
He's a good defender and he actually has some pop.
Honestly, you're the Rangers.
You're probably like.
A pop.
Yeah.
You're the Rangers.
You're like, oh, give us Michael Arroyo and Ben Williamson.
Like Ben Williamson is a nothing for us.
Like he's a throw in that can stand at third base if we need him to this year while we wait for Arroyo to kind of prove that he's a big league.
At worst, it's at worst to be it's like the comp round B pick and Williams.
or Corbin Dickerson and Williamson, maybe.
Yeah, the Mariners have a lot of beauty in the eye of the beholder guys in the 12 to 15 range.
Yeah.
So maybe, but I don't really see the point in Texas doing this, but again, it's free for the Mariners and it's a minor upgrade.
So whatever, 40, 45, somewhere in that range.
Yeah, it's a 45 for me because, yeah, I just don't see Texas doing this.
I'll go 40.
Yeah.
On it, thinking about it, there's no way Texas does this.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, you're right.
You're right, 40.
