So we're mostly going to talk about what an ideal trade deadline would look like for the Mariners.
But before we get into that, let's talk a little bit about last night's game, Colby.
Unfortunately, the work the Mariners did this past weekend has been undone.
The Blue Jays won last night.
The Mariners, of course, lost last night.
And they are now once again, five and a half back of the third and final wild card in the American League.
Great start by Luis Castillo last night.
but unfortunately he did not get any run support whatsoever once again which has been kind of a common theme with castio starts especially as of late um
yeah the the mariners almost went out of this game without even really a whimper they only scored one run against kenta myeda and then with two outs on the bottom of the ninth or yeah top of the ninth rather uh colton wong pinch hit for dillamore which turned out to be a great decision
by Scott's service because Wong
out of nowhere
hit a two-run bomb
to take the lead. Unfortunately,
Andreas Munoz was not able to hold that lead
in the bottom of the knife and then the
mirrors were not able to score it in the top of the 10th.
Twins were able to walk it off with
ease in the bottom of the 10th.
My issue
with the end of the game really doesn't have to do
with the fact that they lost and
my issue with it
really isn't that or isn't
really to say that they lost because of this
decision by Scott's service, but the decision to put Paul Seawald in in the bottom of the 10th
really irked me last night because when we saw Munoz come in instead of Cewald, it's like,
okay, Cewald hasn't pitched or he's pitched in three of the last four games.
Makes sense that he's not available to night.
Totally fine.
And Andreas Munoz, great pitcher, right?
And great pitchers, they're going to get got sometimes too.
It happens, right?
That's not really what my problem is.
And I don't think that the mayor is necessarily lost because service put in Munoz over Seawald.
But putting in Seawald in the 10th, when you don't have the lead, when you are strictly only trying to survive the inning to get to the 11th, when the odds are stacked so heavily against you with the automatic runner on second, the twins don't even need a hit to win that game.
forcing Seawald into that game with all the usage that he's had the last few days in the 10th in that situation
instead of forcing him in to the game in the ninth when you have an actual chance to win when he has an actual chance to save the game
that's the problem and now seawald is definitely not available for tonight's game so you've hurt yourself
potentially in two games now by not by using Seawald in that situation and not
using him in the knife, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
Again, I don't think that's necessarily why they lost.
And honestly, if Taylor Tremel makes that catch, we're probably having a different
conversation today.
But it's still just a mind-numbing decision by Scott Service, which is becoming too
common of a thing as of late.
And we talked about this on our Patreon show yesterday that service has had a bad last few
days.
So, Colby, what are your thoughts on all of this?
look at the end of the day ultimately the loss comes down to you know your best arguably your best reliever
i'll be you know you're a struggling reliever at that moment he didn't get three outs when you had a
one run lead in the ninth um and you know on top of that your offense only scored one off of
my ada for the second straight outing but whatever sometimes the offense is just going to struggle
even really good offenses.
So, you know, it's annoying, but it is what it is.
But at the end of the day,
Andres Munoz didn't get it done.
And your two, three, four hitters didn't get it done because they had a shot to take the lead in the 10th.
And they couldn't even advance JP off of second.
So, yeah, at the end of the day, you lost that the players are to blame for that loss,
like 100%.
Yeah, yeah.
They didn't get it done, which is a common theme right now.
But did the manager,
put them in the best position to win?
No, because like you said, if Seawald is actually able to pitch,
you want him pitching a clean inning from the start.
You want him, you want to use them when you have a chance to win the game,
not extend the game.
And Seawald and extras isn't even that good of an option either because
Seawalt's kind of a fly ball pitcher.
And fly balls, advanced runners, and you kind of need strikeouts.
And you need ground balls.
And so a tired Seawall trying to extend the game,
I just, I don't get it.
I don't get the point of that.
And again, it's a low percentage shot to extend the game, right?
You're not starting with a clean slate.
You have the automatic runner at second.
Again, you don't, the twins don't even need to get a hit in that situation.
Right.
So I just didn't make sense to me.
It's annoying.
And after what we witnessed, you know, in the later innings of Sunday's game,
these things are just stacking on top of each other.
And so it's really easy for us.
to point the finger at Scott because he definitely deserved it Sunday without question.
And it's just because of that vitriol, I don't know, that left over that we are sitting here
blaming him for yesterday.
And I think it's important to say, like, no, that that's on the players.
Like the players lost that game.
Absolutely.
Did Scott's service do everything in his power to help them win it?
No.
And that's kind of the problem.
It was a blunder.
It was a tactical blunder.
I get, you know, why like, hey, if we don't have to use Seawald, let's not use him.
And you trust Andres to get it done.
But at the same time, if you're willing to use Paul.
If you're going to force him into that situation, do it again when you have a chance.
Because that's what's worth forcing him into the game for.
Yeah, I guarantee it win.
Like, if he gets the three outs, you win.
Like, into the game, you win.
Even if you extend, even if he does come in and that runner from second doesn't score,
that's not a guarantee that you're going to win that game.
So the payoff there is not worth it.
And again, you're going to need someone to still go out there and win the game for you.
You know, in the bottom of the 11th.
You're still going to need someone else to come out of the bullpen and close that game out.
So if anything, why not hold out on him for that situation?
Right.
So, I mean, the bullpen's not in great shape.
Like, we know that.
Yeah.
They've four they'll play 13 straight games before their next day off right out of the break.
And that's tough on the bullpen, especially when we've had a few starters, you know, blow up and not go deep.
And it really does, you know, kind of wear on you a little bit.
So I get the bullpen being tired and I get guys aren't available.
But at the end of the day, again, if you're going to use Seawald, like if you're in a, if Seawald is available on that day, you use him in the ninth with the lead.
that is when you use him not in the 10th that doesn't make any sense so yeah i just think that was a small blunder
from scott um but when you compare it to when you add it on top of what happened on sunday
it just kind of starts to snowball and all of a sudden you're looking at this and you're going man
we are two you know like two really close games that are losses that could have been wins
we could have won five in a row we could have been you know four games over 500 for the first time this
year we could have had all the momentum and all of a sudden we're the team that nobody wants to play
and you didn't because you made some tactical blunders and and you know on top of that of course
your big bats julio and gino didn't get it done for the second day in a row yeah so it's just
one of those things where it it just feels like everything's working against you right now so
when scott makes his blunder and again this one is much smaller than than the bunt yeah again
this this probably didn't even lose them in the game
No, probably not, but it just keeps snowballing.
And when you're looking for scapegoats, the manager is the easy guy to pick.
And I go, why, because Scott has not had a good year this year.
I'm not trying to tell you guys that Scott has been on top of it strategically.
Like, I've never thought he was good at that.
I still don't.
I think he's gotten better, but I don't think he's very good at it.
We've talked about this.
Well, and he's regressed this year.
Right.
Again, we've talked about this.
We're not going to relitigate it every time Scott screws up.
But it's just.
It's easier to blame those guys, you know, hitting coach, pitching, like all the, I get it.
I totally get it.
Right.
And I'm right there with, I was frustrated with Scott last night, but I think the important thing we have to just acknowledge is at the end of the day, Andres Munoz failed, didn't do his job. It happens.
Yep.
And then you still had a shot with Julio, Gino, and Tay Oscar, right?
Yeah.
Coming up, your three best guys to get the big hit and extend that game.
And they couldn't do it.
They failed, too.
So.
Yeah, the offense failed,
Munoz failed.
The bulls failed.
That's really why you lost the game last night.
But again,
these decisions by service are starting to add up.
And it's incredibly hard to ignore.
And it's concerning because it's now,
like as of this past week or the past few days,
it's becoming a nightly thing.
And yeah.
Right.
And I mean, like you said,
if Tremel makes that catch,
which I'm not blaming Taylor,
for not making it was no but if he makes that catch and they win then we're i mean we're not
we're not talking about we're not mentioning scott at all except to be like boy he took a risk and
put cold long and but it worked so yeah awesome and i also wanted to mention you know that right at
the top because that was a great decision by service that worked right i mean it up being great sure
right yeah in retrospect every every every decision that works you know and pays off is amazing
in retrospect, yeah.
But still, like, you know, give credit where credit is due, right?
And the same can be said about, you know, some bad decisions as well, right?
Where, I mean, some things just don't make sense, right?
Like Brian, like keeping Brian Wu out there on site.
But again, you know, just for the sake of being fair, right?
We can say the same about both sides of the coin here.
But still, these decisions are starting to add up.
It is a problem.
And it's not, maybe it's not necessarily losing the team games.
Maybe they still lose the last two games without these decisions.
Possible, but.
But it's definitely not putting the Mariners in the best position to succeed.
And that's all that a manager can do, right?
Because he's not the one out there.
He's not the one executing.
And the players have to execute.
But he has to move the chess pieces in the right order to best set themselves up for success.
And he's just, he's really failed to do that, especially over the last few days.
Yeah.
There is no blameless entity in the Seattle Mariners organization.
right now.
Everyone's failing across the board right now.
Yep.
Some more than others.
But yeah.
It's just the reality of it.
And yet the American League is really mediocre,
which is why I think they can still get in this thing with the ideal trade deadline.

So Colby,
the 500 mark is an inescapable prison,
at least for the Seattle Mariners.
And I don't know if they're ever going to be able to make their way
beyond two games away from in either direction, really.
below, above, doesn't matter.
This just seems like they're just going to stay here forever.
They're going to stay within this range forever.
That said, though, with where they're at right now, 50 and 50,
deadline's coming up in like a week, I think exactly a week from today, right?
Yep.
So what would be the ideal trade deadline for this team with how painfully mediocre it is?
trade Julio
that's right
I'm mad at Julio
I'm mad at Julio after the last two days
so you know what?
Yeah.
Let's think about it.
Let's think about this for now.
No, but so yeah,
I think obviously, you know,
there's certain,
the first thing you have to do
when you're trying to develop
like an ideal trade deadline is
are you buyers or sellers.
The Mariners can't be sellers.
They can't because the American League
is so painfully mediocre
that they have a shock
to make the playoffs by winning 85
games. If the Mariners
right now in the month of July
I believe are 12 and 8.
They've won 12 with their last 20. If they do
that three more times
because there's 62 games left,
that puts them at 86 wins
plus or minus two because of the last two games.
So if the Mariners
finish with
86, 87 wins,
they honestly have a pretty good shot
of getting into that wild cards, one of those last
two wild card spots. As crazy as
is because when you look at the teams that are ahead of them, the Yankees are falling.
The Red Sox, they're falling.
The Red Sox don't have the pitching.
Like, let's just be frank about it.
They don't have the pitching to keep up in this race.
So basically it's Toronto, Houston, Seattle for those last two playoff spots.
And I think we know that the angels are going to fall.
I think we know that those dominoes are going to fall.
And they might trade Otani, et cetera.
Yeah.
Right.
The Mariners are a better roster than the teams ahead of them.
And they are at least as good of a roster as the Blue Jays.
And oh, by the way, they have the tie breaker over the Blue Jays.
In theory, they should.
So they're in it.
As annoying as it is, they are in it.
There's really no debate about this.
So they can't sell at best they could do these like lateral moves that we've talked about in the past.
Or they or they give up, you know, seawalled.
But they use those prospects to go get something they don't have for their major league roster.
So I think they have to buy.
I don't think they can stand pat.
I don't think that they should seriously consider selling for a peer
prospects or anything like that. So I think they have to buy. So you start looking at, okay,
what do they need? They need at least two bats, you know, probably three. And I think they need
a number five starter. So because Wu is going to get moved to the bullpen at some point or they're
going to use their six man rotation idea. Either way, you need the starter, right? So, or you need a
couple of bullpen guys to shorten games on the back end. Acquiring the starter is probably going to be
cheaper than getting a couple of open arms, believe it or not.
So for me, when I was thinking about this, the ideal deadline, I think implies one plus bat,
which is hard to find.
You need one averageish bat, I think we'll say, like a bat that's good enough to play every day.
And then I think you need a bench bat who can play, you know, four, four times a week or so.
but ideally you you really pick your spots and because right now the mariners have nothing off the bench they have nothing
Dylan moore is up and down obviously you have your backup catcher that's not going to change like taylor tremel and kade marlowe
just why like what why would you expect that said congratulations to kate marlowe on his first career major league hit
and stolen base yes kind of a funky swing on the first hit but sure yeah i mean good good for him and like
so to me i look at this i got
know they need a starting pitcher they need an everyday bat or probably two everyday bats and they
need a bench guy um and positions matter a little bit here but not all that much so here here's the
idea actually came up with players for this okay bench bat and starting pitcher you're going to get from
the same team you're going to get that from the Oakland A's uh the pitcher is going to be paul blackburn
the bench bat is going to be Seth Brown and I know
tie hate Seth Brown, but whatever.
The guy can play all three outfield spots and first base, right?
Can he play center?
He did.
He has in the past.
Like you don't want him to, but like.
All right.
Sure.
Yeah.
I mean.
Whatever.
He might be your second option.
Yeah.
And a pet.
Yeah.
So yeah.
Seth Brown, he is a guy who not having a good year, but he's cheap.
And again, you're looking for a pinch bat.
You're looking for a guy who can come off, draw a walk, maybe hit a home run.
Seth Brown can do those things.
And he does have a track record.
of some success, particularly against right-handed pitching.
So I think Brown makes a lot of sense.
He's actually a decent athlete as well.
You're not going to use him a ton as a pinch runner,
but he is a major upgrade over Cade Marlowe or Taylor Tremel.
Like he just is, even a struggling Seth Brown is an upgrade over those guys.
The pitcher is going to be Paul Blackburn, who is.
Mariner legend.
Sure, sure.
So he is a guy who he's just, he's the number five, right?
Like that's what Paul Blackburn is.
He's a number five.
He's got a couple years of club control.
after this year. That actually doesn't matter all that much. I mean, you very well could non-tender
him this winter or you just flip him for, you know, a bullpen arm or something you like better.
But Blackburn is a legitimate major league starter. He is, you know, a true number five.
Sometimes he looks like a number four. Throw strikes. Actually getting some strikeouts this year.
He's the guy you need, right? He is right-handed Marco, but a little bit better. And because you don't,
you're not going to get Marco back this year. I don't think that's a possibility.
And obviously, Wu, at some point, you're either going to have to go six-man.
or you're going to have to move Wu to the bullpen,
I think Blackburn makes lawson.
So I can kill two birds with one stone there.
And that is going to cost me maybe Cade Marlowe.
And, you know, it's not,
it's going to cost somebody like a couple of like top 25 prospects,
but probably nobody inside your top 15.
And you might add like sweeteners like Taylor Tremel or somebody like that.
So it's not going to cost a ton.
You can get that done pretty.
easily. I'm not worried about that. Your kind of average bat. For me, I think it's Paul DeYoung.
I would use him primarily as my second baseman going forward. He's very much average. He doesn't get
on base aton, but he does have good right-handed power. And he is a significant upgrade still over Colton
Long. So that is kind of my like fringe like average bat. If you want to get really aggressive,
that could be the bench bat.
And you could go get like Mark Kana and the guy I'm about to pitch here in a second as your, you know, bigger additions.
But I like the young.
He handles second base.
You could also play third or short.
You need them to.
And there's some power there.
And it's kind of a rental.
But because it's, I mean, there's an option after this year.
But he's making some money.
The Cardinals want to move him.
They're motivated to move him.
Again, you're probably getting him for at most Michael Morales.
Like, it's not going to cost a ton to get.
Paul DeYoung.
And then we get to the big bat, right?
The, the, the, the, the, oohs and awe guy that the marriage is going to
do.
Crem.
Sure.
And it's going to cost.
It's going to cost.
And it's going to be a rental.
So it's going to be something Jerry's uncomfortable with.
But Cody Bellinger is the ideal player for this roster.
He is a left-handed bat who doesn't strike out, draws walks, is a good athlete, can
play all three outfield spots and first base at an above average level.
The power plays really well at Team Mobile Park.
he's young and I mean he does have an option after this year but he's he's going to decline that so it's a true rental and it's probably going to hurt a little bit you're probably going to have to give up emerson Hancock because you have to force the you have to force the cubs to make that deal instead of just keeping Hancock or instead of just keeping belliger and slapping the QO on him so you have to give them something that's going to be better than the traffic they could get so it might cost you Hancock and in class A or class A and
and Borougha or something like that.
It's going to cost.
But Bellinger is really the only guy who is likely to get moved this year
that could legitimately be put anywhere on the top three in your lineup,
and it makes a tremendous amount of sense.
There's just not a lot of those bats around.
There are a lot of 100 to 110 WRC plus bats hanging around at the deadline.
Bellinger is the 140 guy, like, and that's the risk you're taking.
And honestly, I'm willing to take that risk because Emerson Hancock,
Like to me, he's a number five starter whose ceiling is a number four.
Who cares?
You have that.
You can replace that.
Pallander Barroa is a reliever.
The end of the day, he's a reliever.
The Mariners can find Perlonder Barrow again.
They've already done it twice.
So Jonathan Clase, you guys know I'm not high on Clossey either.
And I don't know if it takes all three of those guys.
I don't know if it only takes one.
I don't know.
This trade market is so crazy.
It's so wild.
But you are going to have to outbid some teams to get Bellinger,
which means you have to be aggressive.
and you have to be willing to be aggressive.
And I am because at the end of the day,
I can replace Emerson Hancock.
Easy.
I can replace Peralander Baroa.
Yeah.
I can.
You can.
No, no, no.
You can.
I just,
I don't know if that's the smartest decision with where you are right now.
Why not?
This team,
you're five and a half back of the third walker.
I know everyone's meeting.
I totally understand the point that you're trying to make.
It's just for,
to go that high on a rental bat when you were five and a half back of a,
of the wild card.
and there's still teams to leapfrog.
I just teams that you play?
Teams that you play, sure, but still.
It's just teams that your roster is better then.
Let's say you fall short.
Are you really upset that you don't have Emerson Hancock in your system anymore
with the five starter?
What are the odds that Emerson Hancock is one of the five best starters for the
That's an asset that can help me get something in the winter.
More than Bellinger?
That helps me in 2024, which is probably a, which is probably,
as a number five i've i've replaced hancock in the organization
paul blackburn is as good as emerson hancock if not better i'm not i'm not worried
honestly honestly i don't i'm not worried about where he fits in the organization
no hancock is his ceiling is probably paul blackburn okay you're he's just not he's just
a number five you're super low on hancock and that's fine doesn't have a breaking ball the fastball
doesn't get much value it's a change up fastball combo he throw strikes and he's got a good
job. Yeah, but five starter. But again, just talking about him from a pure asset standpoint,
I don't know if I'm willing to, I don't think he's worth as much as you do, clearly. But again,
I'm not saying that you're going to, that he's going to be the leading man in a trade,
but he will certainly help when you get to the winner for something that's going to help you in
2024, which is a bigger or a better dream to or a better thing to dream on than than
2023 right now. I might have it. I disagree. I just, I don't know if I'm willing to get that
aggressive of where this team is at right now personally.
That said, though, for me, the ideal, pretty much everything aside from the Bellinger
idea that you said is what I'm into for the deadline this year for the Marys, because
this team still could really benefit just from having some solid 100 to 110 WRC plus
guys to help complement what they have on the top end, because in theory, you should already
have enough on the top end.
You should have, you know,
Julio and Teo and
JP and Gino
should be able to
carry you if they just have some better support
on the back end of this roster
and the back end of that lineup.
So I look at guys like Mark
Kanna, who could also help you in
2024,
Randall Gritchick, who's probably not going to cost
you a lot.
You know, Seth Brown, again, like you mentioned,
maybe Tony Kemp, who's gotten off
to a pretty nice start here in the second half.
He's obviously not had a great year overall,
but he can also, you know,
he could play a little bit of second,
play some corner outfield, et cetera.
Just anyone that really fits in that range.
And then, yeah, yeah, Paul Blackburn,
Stephen Matt's, doesn't really matter.
You're going to need a number five.
If any, even if you're out of it,
even if they lose every single game from here until the deadline,
they should still add someone that can eat innings for them.
They should still add, you know, your 2023 edition of Mike Leak, right?
So I just, I don't know if I, if I'm willing to get that aggressive for someone on the top end.
If I'm going to get aggressive, I would like someone that is controlled at least through 2024.
You're not getting that guy.
I'm not getting Dylan Carlson.
No.
You're getting Dylan Carlson, but probably for Emerson Hancock.
Okay.
I would rather spend Emerson Hancock on.
Dylan Carlson than Cody Bellinger.
I'd rather have two months of Bellinger.
I'd rather bank on the upside of Carlson and getting more out of Carlson than St. Louis has.
His upside is 75% of Cody Bellinger.
But that's for two months.
And Carlson can help address a really big need that I'm going to have going into 2024.
You don't think I can go get Dylan Carlson this winter?
You can.
But now you can.
But now you don't have Hancock.
You don't have Class A.
You don't have those guys.
that it would help you get Ellen Carlson.
But your farm's not,
but your farm's still not in an amazing spot right now.
I just,
it is.
It's,
it's still,
you're still in the process of building to back up.
I'll take them another six months to go from the 20th best farm system
back into the top 10 again,
which they've done each of the last two summers.
Still,
I just,
come on, man.
No.
You're 50 and 50,
man.
I don't care.
You're five and a half back with four mediocre teams in front of you.
teams are not good teams that are but teams that are going to get better as well are they
they are the yankees look like sellers the blue jays are probably going to get better yes with
what they still have some pieces what are they going to go get bellinger oh yeah you can go
but that makes more sense for them because they're actually in a playoff spot right now so what then
pay the extra oh my god it did you cannot punt this season tie it doesn't make sense because if
you get into the playoffs with your
one through four, you can beat anybody in the American League.
You can't.
I don't.
Tell me I'm wrong.
Can the Mariners pitching beat anybody in the American League in a five game series?
In a seven game.
But is Cody Bellinger fix the offense?
No, he doesn't.
He makes it a hell of a lot better.
He's been good for six weeks this year, man.
No, he has.
He's been good all year.
He was not good after April.
He was not good at April.
Then he got hurt.
44 WRC plus, dude.
He's been great since he got back.
but still what if he falls off so okay so he got hurt tried to play through it couldn't took a month off
came back but what if he falls off again what if he falls off again that's the risk you take what
if mark cana falls off again i don't think it's worth it i don't think it's worth it well you're wrong
i don't think you're an idiot you're that's what it is at the end of the day okay i'm an idiot you're scared
to compete i'm scared to compete you're scared to compete there you go i'm not scared to compete
i'm trying to do it smart i'm trying to do what smart adding a good baseball player is smart always
When you're not, when you're five and a half.
When the cost is a number five starter?
Yes.
Absolutely yes.
I'm talking about the best use of the asset.
Emerson Hancock grows on trees.
He does.
You don't have another Emerson Hancock in your farm system right now.
You don't need another Emerson Hancock.
But again, as far as assets, again, pitching.
Pitching is such a great asset to have.
Pitching.
You have pitching.
You don't.
You don't.
You do.
The trade.
To trade.
Actually, no, I'm not talking about the.
rotation. I'm not talking about the rotation is here.
Talking about pitching prospects.
It's like eight levels below the rest of the guys in the situation. I totally agree.
But Emerson Hancock is still a hell of a lot better than Walter Ford, Michael Morales.
Who cares?
Right now in terms of what I can trade.
Fine. I'll go trade Paul Seawald in the winter and I'll get an Emerson Hancock.
I guarantee you I can.
You absolutely can replace Emerson Hancock in your farm system ranks by trading Justin
Topa this winter. Hancock's not that valuable to you.
he's not for two
Jonathan class A is not that valuable to you
for two months of Cody Ballinger
yes two months ago
also I don't also also I'll just say
I don't think you're getting Cody Belanger with that package
I think you might
I don't think so because like there's going to be teams that are
that have World Series aspirations
that are also going to want Cody Bellinger that are probably
going to be willing to spend more than that
well as they do then you back off
we're not talking about I'm not pitching Cole Young
I know you're not I know you're not
I'm pitching a couple B-level prospects.
But still, even with where you're at right now,
I just don't think it makes sense.
I don't think it makes sense at all.
I think you're wrong.
I think it makes sense.
Do I think it's likely that they win the bidding war for Bellinger?
No, not really.
But again, this is ideal.
And Bellinger is the best bat you can get at the deadline this year, realistically.
He is.
Juan Soto's not getting traded.
Sure.
You're not trading for Shohei Otani.
Stop.
You're not.
Belinger is the best player you can get.
Bellinger impacts your roster the most.
of anybody who's available.
That means I got to pay a little bit extra.
Fine.
I'm doing it.
Are you walking away from Harry Ford?
No, I'm not doing that.
Nobody's teaching that.
All right, Colby,
does your opinion change of the mayor's lose for their next six before the deadline?
Yeah, maybe.
I don't know.
Okay.
Okay.
How did the rest of the American League do?
Because to, because to me, if you're definitely at the deadline below 500,
you shouldn't even consider this.
You should.
You should.
You shouldn't.
You shouldn't.
The American League is so mid.
Okay, but some of these teams are going to get better.
And you should too.
You have major issues.
You have major issues that Cody Bell and you are alone.
So do these teams in front of you.
I just,
the Yankees cannot pitch.
They can't hit either, but you know, whatever.
I don't know.
I don't know, man.
I don't know.
There is not a team that's ahead of you that has a better roster than you.
Not one.
Not in the wild car.
race the yankees do not have a better rest uh better roster than you the red sox do not have a better
roster than you the blue jays do not have a better roster than you go help the roster we know the blue jays
don't because the merrers keep beating them at best they have the same level of roster at best i mean but
they have they have a i mean their offense is is really inconsistent but the talent there throughout like
one through nine the one through nine talent and the blue jays lineup is a lot better than the merrars
not if you go get Cody Bellinger
the mayor but the mayor is starting pitching
Paul De Young
Marr's starting pitching is better
Bullpen's better I don't know
I don't know
built to win in October
but I just I have to get there
so you have to be willing to pay the freight
I don't think this team is
is good enough to get there
even with Cody Bellinger I really don't
think that this team can win a three game
let's have they're the sixth wild card
we got to go but they're the sixth wild card
or right the third wide succeed
succeed yeah right so they would play
the worst division they would play the twins in a three game set you're telling me you don't think
they can take the twins down the three games set would they be close game sure yeah can they can they
can they take the rangers down with what the range because the rangers are going to get better the
rangers are going to be very aggressive at the deadline they can they can they absolutely can
we're talking about a five game series can they beat can they beat the rays can they beat the
orioles yes of course they can they be the braves yes
They don't play the Braves until the World Series.
You're telling me you wouldn't trade for Cody Ballinger
if it got you to the World Series.
Get out of here.
No, obviously, obviously.
It's not worth it because they didn't win the World Series.
Get out of here.
I'm not saying that.
I'm just asking you a question.
I'm literally just asking you a question about.
The answer is yes, by the way.
They could.
They could be the brave.
Yes, they can.
In a seven game series, you can beat anybody.
I mean, sure.
Yeah.
And that's all we're talking about is seven games series.
That's a lot of hypotheticals here that we're going.
You're the ones thrown out.
the hypotheticals.
They shouldn't do this because they can't beat the Red Sox.
They can't be those are all hypotheticals.
And they're not even no ones.
Those are what I've seen after the last.
Can they beat the Rangers?
Can they beat the Rangers three times in five days?
Yes.
Of course they can.
People are going to hate this episode.
People are going to hate this episode.
I don't care.
Of course they can.
The Mariners can be any team in baseball in a five game series.
Of course.
We need a wrap.
We need a wrap.
We're well past time.
Ridiculous.
