rumor has it that he has taken a job as a cheerleading coach at a local university.
You'll have to find out from him if that's true or not.

Wednesday's ball games saw the Seattle Mariners up against the Toronto Blue Jays of Buffalo, New York.
As a reminder to you, the Blue Jays have been playing in Buffalo this year due to COVID-19 travel restrictions.
So when you see the attendance and see that there were only 6,000 plus people at the ballpark,
it's due to the fact that the Blue Jays are playing at a smaller ballpark,
not that they've gone the way of minor league teams.
The pitching matchup for the game was just the Sheffield against Stephen Mats.
Stephen Mats is fresh off the COVID-19 injured list, so he is working on a pitch count and is not expected to pitch too long into the game.
Blue J started off the run action in the bottom of the second.
George Springer led off with a live drive single to left center field.
Randall Grichick came up after him and singled through the hole between third and short driving Springer to second.
Kevin Bezio, son of Major League Hall of Famer Craig Bezio, comes up and walks, loading the bases.
Lordis Geryl Jr., it's a fly ball to deep right field down the line, scoring George Springer
and putting the Blue Jays on the board.
The Mariners come up in the top of the third inning.
Taylor Tremel doubles to center field, scoring Dylan Moore, who had let off with a single.
J.P. Crawford comes.
up singles to the third basement, scoring Taylor Tremel. There was no RBI on the play because it was an error.
And then Corey's brother comes up and hits a fly ball deep down the left field line, scoring J.P. Crawford, putting the Mariners up 4 to 1.
Going into the bottom of the third. The Blue Jays manufacture yet another run.
Bob Bichette leads off with a single.
Vlad the Impaler Jr. comes up and walks, driving Bichette to second.
George Springer comes up, hits a fly ball to right field.
It's caught, but Bo Bichette is able to move to third base.
Randall Gretchen comes up and doubles down the left field line,
scoring Bichette and Guerrero, making the score now four to three Mariners.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Blue Jays are added again.
Riley Adams comes up, doubles down the left field line off of just the Sheffield.
Marcus Simeon comes up, and on nine pitches, he drives Sheffield deep down the left field line,
scoring Riley Adams, tying the score at four to four.
Then in the top of the fifth inning, J.P. Crawford comes up on five pitches,
doubles off of Trent Thornton down the left field line.
Mitch Hanigert then comes up.
And on only the second pitch from Trent Thornton,
hits a home run to deep left center field.
The score is now four to six Mariners.
Going into the bottom of the fifth,
the Blue Jade manufacturer yet another run.
They are good at this, folks.
George Springer comes, second batter of the inning comes up,
and hits a double to left field.
Kevin Beggio, singles to left, moving Springer to third,
Lord's Gary Old Jr., singles to right,
a ground ball between first and second, scoring George Springer, making the score six to five Blue Jays.
We see no other action until the bottom of the eighth inning.
Lord Scurriel Jr. hits the very first pitch off of Anthony Masevich for a home run,
deep left field. There's no other score until the top of the 10th inning, tied at six.
Shed Long comes up. Singles of the left field.
driving Luis Torrens, who was the runner at second base to start the inning to third.
And then Dylan Moore comes up on the fifth pitch from relief pitcher Patrick Murphy.
It's a home run to deep left field, giving the Mariners the lead nine to six.
Then in the bottom of the 10th inning, Randall Grechuk is running at second base to start the inning.
By the way, of DC and I mentioned that we do not like this rule.
This takes you back to Little League.
Okay, back to the game.
Randall Grichuk is at second base.
Kevin Beggio comes up, doubles to right field.
Grichick scores, and that is the ball game.
The Mariners win at 9 to 7 in 10 innings.
Mariners now move to 42 and 39.
Blue Jays are 41 and 37.
And now for today's trivia corner.
The question, how many?
of the four pitchers in the 4,000 strikeout club can you name?
You know, one of them is a former mariner, and it's not Steve Seashack.

And now the answer to our trivia corner,
the four members of the 4,000 Strikeout Club,
are the Ryan Express, Nolan Ryan,
Steve Carlton, Rocket Roger Clemens,
and none other than the big unit,
Randy Johnson,
Coming up, we'll find out how DC is doing as a cheerleading coach.
We now return to Lockdown Mariners with your guest host, John Miller.
Thank you again, Joey Martin.
Welcome back to Lockdown Mariners.
I just heard from DC, and after practice, he is apparently taking the cheerleaders out for ice cream.
I do hope that goes well for him.
Moving on to talk about Thursday's game against the Buffalo Island.
I mean, Toronto Blue Jays, the pitching matchups for this game.
You see Kikichi of the Seattle Mariners prior to this game is 5 and 3 with 87 strikeouts and 30 walks and a 3.34 ERA.
Against Hingin Ryu formerly of the Los Angeles Dodgers prior to this game, he is 7 and 4 with a 3.41 ERA.
he has 71 strikeouts and 19 walks.
Both of these are good pitchers having good years.
However, one of these pitchers would have a slightly higher ERA after today's house.
The Mariners did not hesitate to start off the action.
Lead-off hitter J.P. Crawford hit a sharp line drive double to right field, his 20th off of the season.
Manninger comes up and singles to right field, driving Crawford to third.
Corey's brother is up next.
He singles on a ground ball to third baseman Santiago Espinall,
scoring J.P. Crawford, driving Mitch Hanigur to third.
Tai France is up next.
He hits a sack fly to Randall Grechek, scoring Manager.
At the end of the first half an inning, the Mariners are up two to nothing.
Going into the bottom of the first inning,
the Blue Jays strike back, Marcus Simeon hits his 20.
20th home run of the year to left center field, making the score 2 to 1.
Mariners are added again in the top of the second inning.
Ace Frealy hits his sixth home run, out to right field.
Mariners are up 3 to 1.
Then in the top of the third inning, Shedlong Jr.
It's a line drive to right center field.
Line drive home run to right center field scoring.
I keep wanting to call him Jack Bauer.
It is Jake Bowers, bringing the Mariners lead five to
one. We do not see any real action after that for five innings, all the way to the bottom of
the eighth inning. The Toronto Blue Jays, Marcus Simeon, up again. It's a line drive double to
centerfielder Jake Frey. That is his 21st double of the year. Bo Bichette comes up after him.
It's a line drive to Jack Bauer, uh, Jake Bowers, scoring Marcus Simeon. The Mariners now lead
five to two. Going into the top of the ninth, J.P.
P. Crawford leads off with a walk. Manninger comes up and also walks on four pitches.
Corey's brother comes up, hits a line drive to right fielder Teoscar Hernandez, scoring J.P. Crawford,
moving Manninger to third. Ty Frans comes up next, strikes out swinging.
Jack Bauer singles on a ground ball to right fielder Hernandez, scoring Manager, driving Seeger to third.
That will be it for the Mariners.
and the ball game as the Mariners win 7 to 2.
The Mariners win the game and the series.
Starting pitcher Ryu went four innings, gave up seven hits, five runs.
Four of them were earned.
He struck out two and walked two.
He is now seven and five.
You say Kikachi, went seven innings, gave up five hits, one run, struck out six, walked one.
His ERA is now down to 3.18.
He is 6 and 3.
This is definitely a quality start and quite a way to end the series.

Doesn't have to be about baseball or sports at all.
It could be about music.
You could ask what flavor of ice cream the cheerleaders like.

Welcome back to Lockdown Mariners.
Here once again is your guest host, John Miller.
Thank you again, Joey Martin.
Boy, he sure.
does a good job with that announcing.
Welcome back to Locked-on Mariners.
Here we come with our pitching matchups for the 4th of July weekend.
After winning the series against the Buffalo Blue Jays,
the Mariners come back to the world's largest cell phone store
to take on the Walker, Texas Rangers.
Mariners starting this series are 42 and 39.
The Rangers are the excellent record,
are not so excellent in this case, of 31 and 49.
Starting off this first game, the Mariners have Logan Gilbert.
He is 2-2 with a 4.25 ERA.
He has 39 strikeouts and 8 walks.
I hope he does well.
I just signed him for my fantasy team.
The Rangers have Kyle Gibson, who this year in 90 innings is 6-0 with a 2-3.
Even ERA. He has 74 strikeouts and 26 walks.
6 and 0 with a 2 point ERA.
That is quite a record.
Moving into Saturday's game,
we see the Mariners Marco Gonzalez,
hopefully to BRA if he can turn things around.
He is 1 in 4 with a 5.10 ERA.
He has 42 strikeouts and 18 walks
against Rangers Jordan Lyles.
He is 3 and 5 in 84 in the third innings.
He has a 5.12 ERA.
He has 67 strikeouts and 27 walks.
And coming into the holiday, 4th of July Sunday here,
the Mariners Chris Flexen, it was 6 and 3 with a 3.97 ERA,
52 strikeouts and 17 walks and 79 in a third innings.
He's looking like more of an ace than a third inning.
He's looking like more of an ace than Marco Gonzalez.
I wouldn't mind having two aces if Marco can turn things around.
I know I'd talk positive about him.
I like Marco.
I want to see him have a good career.
The Rangers bring on Mike Fultanaywicks.
I'd probably pronounce that wrong.
I am sorry, sir.
He is 2 and 7 with a 5.17 ERA.
He's given up 19 home runs already.
In 87 innings, he has 62 strikeouts and 20 walks.
After the weekend series, you will hear D.C. talk about the Mariners playing his three-game stretch against the New York Yankees and the California Angels.
And now for a segment that D.C. does not know about. He likes to hear me talk about umpiring.
Well, I'm going to bring you a little bit of a story. All of these stories that I talk about are true.
that I either witness them firsthand or mostly I witness them firsthand.
Every now and then I happen to hear about them.
I've seen a lot of baseball over the years.
In this case, my partner and I, this guy was kind of like a mentor to me.
A few of us called him the professor because of his great knowledge and love for the game.
He took us under his wing.
He mentored us.
him and I are working a local tournament here, college age guys.
Most of them did play in college, but this was not a strictly college tournament.
He's behind the plate.
I'm out on first base.
Get to about the fifth inning of the game.
And this guy is John Adam here and there, doesn't like the strike zone.
Come on, you should have called that one a ball.
Oh, that one was too high.
just all sorts of things like that,
just shooting his mouth off.
Come the fifth inning.
Pitch comes in,
low and inside.
It catches the plate.
It was in the zone.
Partner rings him up for strike three,
and this guy just didn't have it.
He raised his arms up in the air.
He was livid.
His face turned beat red.
He started saying something,
me thinking that this could be
a little bit of an altercation.
I started heading down,
the first baseline. I get just about to the runner interference line and all I hear my partner say,
all I hear the professor say is, can you spell parking lot? Well, this guy caught the idea right
away that if you keep talking, you will be going to the parking lot. So he kind of sighed,
stopped what he was doing, and he went back to the dugout. He was not happening. He was not happy.
but he did not want to get tossed,
and he was just on the verge of doing that.
If you would like to hear more stories, please write to D.C.
And he might have me on again.
We'll see.
Maybe D.C. will be stuck with the cheerleaders.
Who knows?
Well, that'll do it for this one, gang.
D.C. should be back after the weekend to talk about all the fun he had
and the upcoming serieses.
In the meantime, please remember to download and follow Locked-on Mariner's.
