Be sure to stay tuned later in the episode for MLB Top 100,
highlight presented by our friends over at MLB the show 26 well we made it opening days here
and we're going to obviously talk about tonight's game later on but first we got some other
business to attend to you know we've done our bold predictions for the mirrors we've done our
MLB predictions for the mirrors but now we got to do our team MVP predictions or sy
young predictions for the club specifically rookie of the year reliever of the year all that
good stuff. And yesterday we of course both picked the Marrars to win the World Series. You
picked them to beat the Phillies and seven. I picked them to beat the Dodgers in six, but I mean,
let's let's be real with ourselves. It'll probably go to game seven. So I'm going to change that
prediction to Marers in seven over the Dodgers. And it'll probably take like 23 innings for
them to win that game as well because yeah. And also the final score,
probably be five to four for reasons you can only dream yeah the mariners will have to play
a elimination game in every round of the playoffs game five and two game sevens but that's how they'll
have to get it done because why would they get it done any other way exactly exactly yeah so
again we both picked them to to win the world series but obviously they got to get to the playoffs first
before they can make a run like that.
So how many wins do you think the marries will tally
over the course of the regular season
in order to set themselves up for that run?
I think they're going to win 91, 92 games.
So, yeah, I mean, that's like a floor of like 85
and then the ceiling of close to 100.
But again, the ceiling is like Colt Emerson comes up
and he's amazing and the rotation stays 100% health and all that.
But yeah, I think, you know, 91, 92 wins.
is definitely enough to win the division,
and it'll be enough to at least put them in the conversation
for the home field advantage throughout the American League.
And yeah, we'll see where it goes,
but that's where I'm pretty comfortable at 92.
And I think that would be the most wins they've had in a regular season since 2003.
So that would be nice.
And again, there is potential for more.
There's also the opposite way.
It can be true.
But it's hard for me to imagine a scenario,
short of the catastrophic injury bug like we talked about,
where this team is not at the very least in the race for the division deep into September.
So, but yeah,
I think they're going to win the division.
And I think they're going to win it by, I don't know,
seven to 10 games would be my guest.
So, yeah,
I think it's reasonably close heading into September and then they just kind of pull away
because they're more talented than everybody else in their division.
So I'll say 92.
Do you have a prediction for who's going to finish a second?
Because I'm a bit mixed on that.
I think the other three teams are going to be between like 80 and 85 wins.
And if the A is finished with 85, would I be shocked?
No.
You know, obviously the Astros.
You can't write them off entirely.
They're just too good of an organization,
regardless of how you feel about them.
You have to admit they're really good at the player development and all of that.
and they're really smart front offices.
And so, but yeah, if I had to guess,
I'd probably still guess the Astros.
It feels like the Rangers took a step back offensively,
and their pitching is very good,
but also very fragile.
You have a Valdi who's like 35 to Grom.
Yeah.
When's he going to go down,
still kind of waiting on rocker and lighter to truly break out.
We've seen it in glimpses, but yeah.
So.
Adam McKenzie Gore, who we like.
Yeah, sure.
but he's also not, you know, a number two.
He's a number four right now who could be, you know, better.
Yeah.
And I just don't, I think Oakland's a year away.
I just don't think they have to be yet.
So I'd still say Houston, but, yeah, like I said,
I think you're going to see a bunch of teams in the West that are right around 500.
And then you have the angel bottom part of the spectrum,
and the Mariners will be at the top of the spectrum there.
Well, the Mariners have a great foundation.
in place.
One that I think can already take them to winning the division into one of the top
seeds in the American League, even if they don't make any further moves.
And as long as just things go about as relative to expectations.
Yeah, it's expectations.
I think right now this roster is probably like an 88 to 92 win roster, give or take some
things.
And then there's the upside, obviously, of like what of Cold Emerson?
pops and obviously the trade deadline.
There's still one of the best farm systems in all of baseball that they can trade from
on top of, you know, just adding talent from like again, Cole Emerson, Kate Anderson,
Michael Royal, potentially down the line.
So I think they are going to, in their 50th season, they're going to honor what many
consider it to be the most iconic season in franchise history and win 95 games.
I know you love that.
Yes, because it's always about 95.
All right.
Well, now that we have pretty much all the overarching team predictions out of the way between, you know, the last few episodes that we've done and now the win total prediction, let's get into some individual predictions here.
Team MVP.
Who's it going to be?
Probably not this guy.
Get your copy today.
He's not a mariner.
So I think there's a good shot.
Yeah.
I mean, to be fair, last year, a mariner who copied.
every single game essentially
hit 60 home runs
had a really good postseason not that that's actually
taken to account they couldn't beat
this guy so I doubt
Julio can also
but this guy what is going on
is not even that good when you compare
Julio's defense and base running
to his but I'm going to take Julio to win
the MVP simply because
you know he's the best player on the team
and last year Cal was the best player
and we talked about even when Cal was
the best player on the team Julio remains the
most important. And if Julio has a Cal Raleigh like season, not that he has to hit 60,
but like can he get to eight wins, nine wins like Cal did, if he can do it, that to borrow a term
from the Seahawks, that's a force multiplier even greater than that,
the Cal Raleigh provides when he gets to that level, because he's just a game changer.
He changes everything about the lineup. He changes everything about the defense.
You know, he changes everything on the basis. Like he is just that dude.
So I'm going to take Julio.
I'm not predicting that he's going to have the breakout, you know, true MVP challenge to this guy.
Yet he's not really able to do that quite yet.
I don't think at least.
But I think this will be the first year where we look at Julio and be like, yeah, that's a top three.
That's a finalist.
But even if he's not, he's a pretty safe bet to be like a five, six win player.
And those don't grow on trees and the Mariners might have two of them.
So, yeah, I'm playing the odds a little bit here.
I'm playing it safe a little bit.
But I'm going to take Julio to be the MVP.
over who well over this guy but over cow raleigh too this guy beat raleigh last year and i think
he'd probably beat hulio again this year but uh i'll take hulio over cow this episode this episode
is brought to you by m lb the show 26 in case you didn't know get yours today
i'm taking hulio as well i'm not going to do the spiel you you guys know how i feel about
ulio i don't need to repeat it seems i am this one's more interesting that's for sure
Um,
feels like it's probably a two horse race.
But if like if Brian Wu broke out and actually challenged for it,
that wouldn't surprise you,
right?
Uh,
see what I did there?
A little misdirection.
Uh,
no,
but if George Kirby in all seriousness,
if he had a breakout year,
he would definitely challenge for it as well.
So this could easily be a three team race or a three player race,
I should say.
And honestly,
you know,
Bryce,
20,
he was in that conversation.
He was probably number two.
So like there's not,
there's a non-zero chance that you have four guys who you could
legitimately pick any of them and be like,
yeah.
But I think I'm going to take Logan.
It's really close between him and Wu.
But yeah,
I mean,
I think you need to,
I'd be pretty surprised.
Like I think Cassio's going to be good.
I don't think there's much of a chance that he's like the staff
ace,
which is essentially what we're handing out here.
I'm going to take Logan.
I think he's able to get deeper into game.
I don't know if he's going to get back to the 200 innings that he did a couple years ago,
but can he get to, you know, averaging six innings a start instead of five?
Yeah, I think he probably can.
So I'm going to take Logan in a real close, you know, votes or whatever.
I'll take Logan over Brian, but I would probably rank them in likelihood.
It's like Logan, Brian, a little bit of a gap, and then it's George, little bit of a gap.
And then it's Brian.
And for Brian, it's mostly because he's.
hurt right now or well he's behind right now yeah Bryce sorry uh and then yeah so you could I
think you make a reasonable case for three of them right now and if you wanted to say a dark
horses is Bryce yeah I I think that's totally fair but I'll go Logan yeah Bryce like even though it's
not like an arm thing that he's dealing with I'm just not really considering how much here just because
like he's going to get off to a late start here like yeah yeah so you know thankfully again like
I said, it's not an arm thing. So I don't think that's the oblique thing is going to impact him
too, too much. And it does seem like he's already kind of rounding third and heading for home
on that injury on his recovery. But yeah, I'm going to go Brian Wheeler. After the year that he had,
you know, establishing himself as one of the best starters in all of baseball, I think he just
continues that momentum and builds upon that. And I think he's a legitimate Syong contender this year.
I don't think he wins it. You know, again, yesterday I picked Garrett Crochet to win it. I think
scubles ahead of him, you know, a couple of other guys are ahead of him. But I think he's
the top five, top six pitcher in the American League this year, just like he was last year.
All right.
So who will be the rookie of the year and the reliever of the year on the Marys in 2026?
We'll over that in just a moment.

Mariners Moments Tournament.
And Colby, I'd ask you how that's going, but we're actually recording this on.
on Wednesday.
So nothing's really changed from the last time we talked about.
It will have changed,
I think,
you know,
by the time that you're watching this episode,
but right now,
really nothing has changed because it's been like two hours since we've recorded.
Yeah.
Numbers wise.
Very little has changed.
But there is a major change in that you do have to log in to your Google account to
cast a vote.
And you're only allowed to vote once per account because somebody tried to
circumvent the fairness of,
technically they didn't break any rules.
Yeah.
Someone wanted to be a little.
I wanted to be a goofy guy.
There's such thing as a spirit of the competition, and somebody broke that.
And we might have to deal with that a little bit later after this weekend.
We'll have to make a decision.
But yeah, anyways, you guys can vote down in the description now below.
If you don't know, the matchups are the double versus Gino's game five grand slam in the ALCS last year.
And then it's Cal Raleigh's drought ending home run versus Felix Hernandez's perfect game.
And that matchup is either a blowout or extremely close.
depending on how we decided to handle the uh not fraud per se but the uh the not illegal but certainly
unethical uh ballot stuff in that occurred uh over the last couple day and honestly kind of stupid one too
because it was so easy to find out like what are you doing man yeah anyways yeah anyhow
moving on. But please participate in the top 50
Mariner's Moments Tournament. We greatly appreciate it if you haven't already.
All right. Rookie of the year on the Mariners.
There's quite a few options. More than usual here.
Some real, like, legit options here, like multiple of them.
So who are you going with?
Do you have another synonym for, you know, multiple, legit, real?
legitimate real
but those are not synonyms are multiple
it's not going to be this former rookie of the year
but uh i i do think yeah see
that makes sense think about it
it will be the show 26 get your copy today
available on the Nintendo switch and
Xbox and of course
PlayStation that's right that's right maybe you guys can't see this
yeah there's quite a bit of glare
Anyway, shiny.
Yeah, so this is an interesting one because, like, the easy answer is Colt Emerson.
We think he's going to be up before the other big rookies.
We think he's going to be good right away.
And just because the idea that he's going to be up soon, or well, relative to Kate Anderson and like Ryan Sloan,
who might be interesting picks for this, just going to give him more time to accumulate stats.
And obviously, when you're trying to predict these things, that's what you're looking for.
So I think Colt Emerson is the correct answer.
but I'll say this.
I think if you're asking who's like the biggest impact,
like relative to the amount of opportunity they get,
I think it might be Ryan Sloan out of the bullpen late in September and October
because,
oh boy,
if you guys watched him this spring like,
like so like statistically speaking,
it's going to be Emerson because he's going to get more opportunities than any other rookie.
But in terms of pure impact per like appearance,
it's going to be Ryan Sloan.
So,
so some might only get a month.
And so you can't win rookie of the year in a month.
But he might be the difference maker.
He might be the X factor for the Mariners in September.
I mean, because we all love to imitate the flavor of the month in sports.
Is Ryan Sloan going to be the Mariners, Trey you Savage in 26?
I don't think so because I don't think he's going to start.
I think he's going to be a pure lever.
But it could be the David Price of 2009.
You guys remember that.
Yeah.
All you youngsters out there.
I know how our demographic skew, but David Price, former number one overall pick from Vanderbilt.
made his debut out of the bullpen and into a magical run to the World Series,
which the race lost.
I just realized kids born in 2009 are in high school now.
Yeah.
They're.
God,
I'm old.
I'm old.
They're driving.
I'm a monk,
for real.
Oh,
God.
Some of them have their driver's licenses and some of them are probably
playing this fantastic video game.
So yeah,
I'm going to go Colt Emerson,
but I do think that Ryan Sloan has a chance to be a bigger impact.
believe it or not, like,
relative to the number of opportunities he gets,
if that makes sense.
This is one of your better bets.
I gotta give it to you.
People listening on audio are just so confused, though.
I'm sorry to you guys listening.
Pick up your copy of MLB,
the show, and you won't be confused.
There is.
There you go.
There you go.
Yeah, I almost moved on without making my pick.
I'm going to go with Cole Emerson.
I mean, it's the obvious.
choice like he's going to be i mean we thank up the earliest of anyone and uh again he was one of my
flag players so i kind of like i have to pick him on principle if we expanded this to like
players with less than one year like cole you obviously like yeah would call young would you pick
cole young to be the rookie of the year over colt emerson yeah because because cole
Cole was going to be my
well if you took Randy
during our fly episode
I would have picked Cole
like he was at the top of my list for
for fly players too yeah
okay well there you go
what about Ben Williamson would you take in him
I'm sure he'll have a great year in Tampa
yeah oh yeah I'm counting on it and I could not care less
incoming five win season for Ben Williamson
look I know Ben Williamson's going to end up on the copy of this
27 but like
what are you going to do
too.
Unbelievable.
You have to win now.
And Donovan gives you a better chance.
So you'll go Emerson, but Sloan is more impactful per appearance made.
So if there was a reliever on the Mariners who could wind up on the cover of MLB, the show 27, Colby, who would that be after a great 2026?
Are you referring to this game right here?
Yeah, that game.
Yeah.
I mean, the easy answer here is Munoz, but I'm actually going to go with Ryan Sloan.
That's right.
no, uh, Muñoos,
Munoz is the guy, uh,
here. He's entered a
territory that not a lot of relievers get to
in that he's done it so many years in a row
that you just, you, you write him in pen, you know,
like Bizarro was great last year and he was an absolute,
you know, dog who transformed into a daddy.
And, and he was incredible. And yet, you and I both,
as big of a fan of Bizarro as I was heading into last year,
you and I both are like, yeah, we'll see.
because he's only done it once.
You know, Brash is certainly an option here, but kind of had a weird spring.
He didn't really pitch all that much in the spring, but it wasn't arm related or anything like that.
So I don't know if they're just kind of bringing him along, but we'll see where the VLO is at.
Remember last year he was 95, 96, and in the past he's been 98 to 100.
So we'll see where that's at.
Gabe, you know, he was great for like five and a half months.
months and then he really showed up for the last.
Then he got a home run happy.
Yeah.
And so WBC didn't go that well for him, but.
Yeah.
Yeah.
The home runs continued into the WBC and the spring didn't go particularly well for him.
I'm still quite high on the Mariners bullpen, particularly the one through five.
Yeah.
But yeah, we're pick who's going to be the best out of that group.
Probably the guy who's been the best reliever in their bullpen for at least three of the last four years.
I mean, you probably make an argument for Brash in, in 2020.
over Munoz, but yeah,
Munoz is the safe bet.
And I know it's the boring answer.
We're giving you guys lots of boring answers,
but we can't pretend that, you know,
I'm going to,
I'm going to take Carlos Vargas for the clicks.
Like, no, I,
that's exactly what I'm doing actually,
Colby.
Say,
he was on your flag list yesterday.
So.
Yeah.
Now, I,
I'm actually not taking Munoz,
so I'm taking that brush.
Okay.
You know,
because like you said,
you know,
the stuff wasn't together.
Exactly.
Exactly.
especially us on Ontarians.
You know who's
Canadians?
Yeah, that's right.
That's right.
Unbelievable.
I don't think he had much to help, but
you know.
Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know.
KWBC.
I feel like it kind of got
off of the strong.
A bad at bats, but like, yeah.
Yeah.
But he had some,
he had some homers.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We're getting fatigued about Aaron Judge
who might be the best right-handed hitter
in the history of baseball on the past.
on the path that he's on, but sure, yeah.
Yeah. Anyway, yeah, I'm taking brush.
Because like you said, you know, the stuff wasn't exactly there for most of his year,
obviously still recovering from Tommy John and all that.
It wasn't exactly the bat brush that we know and love, but the numbers were pretty much
the bat brush that we know and love, like the strikeouts were still incredibly high.
You know, the ERA was actually a career low for him, 247 ERA.
You know, 3.305.5.
that was second lowest of his career.
I think Brash builds on that.
The stuff gets a bit better.
I'm not too concerned about the time that he missed during the spring.
It was like a two thing as far as we know.
That was the only thing that he was dealing with.
Yeah, I think we see a guy that looks a lot like 20, 23, that brush.
And typically, you know, especially with Tommy Johns,
especially in today's day and age, it takes about a year until you really start to get it,
you know, get it all back together.
Yeah.
It's faster to get back.
now, but it still takes that
full year after you get back before
you really start to feel like yourself. And we
saw it with Matt further
and further that he got removed from it
and the more he pitched, the better
it seemed that he got. And I think that
just continues into 2026.
And look, this was a guy in 2023
who was what the second, third, most valuable
reliever in all of baseball.
I think there's the chance here
that we see that guy again in 2026.
And he's one of the guys who didn't
get overused.
on the stretch because they they couldn't that's the other thing yeah that's a great point that's
to be fair munios also was not overused at least not in the regular season so really bizardo was
the one who got ridden the hardest and and so that's the concern there but uh yeah uh i think i think you
almost have to pick munoz or brash uh but if you want to be you know if you want to be out
there and be like oh look at me i'm a contrarian you could take ferrera bizardo inspire and i'd
listen to your argument, but
take Emerson Hancock.
Again, if the Mariners weren't going to
saddle him with a half, negative
half a win war by having him start
three games, I would have taken him on my
flag list, but nope. Emerson
Hancock is talking to every single one
of you, like the Green Goblin mask.
Well,
I can't wait for Emerson Hancock
to strike this guy out on Monday,
but it'll be fun.
It'll be fun. Yeah.
Mariners,
Guardians. We'll preview it
coming up in just a moment. But first

dot com forward slash control the zone link in the description of this episode so game one of 162 is tonight
at team mobile park mariners versus the cleveland guardians who they opened up the season
against in 2023 so we've we've done this thong and dance before fairly recently and that first game
went pretty well for the marries a lot of opening days go pretty well for the mariners record
on opening day in the last 50 year, well, 49 seasons.
There you go. Yeah. So hopefully that continues. And I believe Chris and Anders will have you covered after the game. So be sure to check in with those guys that will be going live shortly after the final pitch of this one. Hopefully talking about a Mariners win. Now, a big reason that we're recording this episode on Wednesday instead of the day of the game is because a certain someone here, not me, is going to opening day.
so I got to ask you before we actually
No he'll be here a few days later
than that but
But opening week
Yeah yeah opening week
But I got to ask you before we actually
dive into this
Into this game
What are you excited to see at opening day?
We got the banner reveal
Got some new food obviously got some new
Mariner's making their debuts
Specifically Brennan Donovan
What are you excited to see at the ballpark
Humpy
hell yeah
I'm really excited to see you
I'm really excited to see what they do
with Humpy's storyline this year
again it doesn't seem like they're going to do
the out of shape storyline that we pitched
because he's resting on his laurels
it just feels like a huge missed opportunity
I mean think of the video you could do like
the Rocky montage where he works out and he gets all
like you felt you know again
and then you can do that or he's just
you know where he's just he's reading his press club
you know he's signed into autographs
you know mid race he's got a shoe deal now
So he does.
He does.
I forgot about that.
Yeah.
Humpy, you know, the hat trick,
hat number one on opening day always.
Not that I watch.
I just pick ahead of time,
unlike you,
losers who actually sit up there and stare at the board
for 90 seconds.
Like,
I got 90 seconds for free and I still have a 33% chance.
How about that?
But yeah, you know,
hoping to get my hands on one of the ferry boats.
But we'll see.
You know, I imagine those are going to sell out fast.
and they only have certain food items in the ferry boats at certain sections,
and I'm not really near the one I want the most.
So we'll see how that works.
But yeah, ultimately, it's a hot dog at the ballpark, watching the Mariners, watching the boys, you know, take on the guardians and back at the barn.
Golden hit that sally.
It's not hockey.
Down in some, no, I'm not going to say that, down in some hot dogs and, you know, watching the boys.
at the barn.
I'm quite excited.
This guy's going to be gobbling some glizzies in the ballpark.
I'll tell you what I was going to say later.
But yeah, I mean, obviously,
it's one of those things where it's like I'm excited to watch Logan Gilbert,
but I can't actually watch him.
Like I'll see him live, but I can't tell him.
You're going to be asking me questions during the,
yeah, like, was that a strike or like, you know,
how's the splitter look and all that?
But so it's tough to say when you go to a game,
it's not the best time to be like,
oh,
this guy looks really good on the mount.
I don't know.
Like,
but yeah,
you know,
I'm excited to see the guys.
The banner reveal will be fun.
And,
you know,
it's fitting because that kind of puts an end
to the 2025 season.
Like,
that's the final chapter of it.
And then 10 minutes later,
we open up the next chapter or,
well,
sorry,
we start a new book.
So,
yeah,
and it's just,
it's the bunting around the ballpark.
It's the smells of the ballpark.
The weather,
at least last check doesn't look like it's going to be terrible.
It's going to be mid-50s throughout the day and then probably in the high 40s.
I don't think the roof's going to have to be closed.
Now, side note, I have a certain weather app that is not the most reliable.
You guys might be able to figure it out.
But, you know, it's right now it's saying low 50s and sunny tomorrow in Seattle.
So the roof should probably be open.
you're really enjoying showing and telling on today's show.
Speaking of telling, let me tell you about this game
because I've already simulated yesterday's game,
or tomorrow's game rather, on this game right here.
And let me tell you, I won 10 to 1.
So I think the Big Mariners dub is coming.
But yeah, I did.
I did too.
I won 6 to nothing.
There you go.
Excited to see Cal obviously and see what he can do.
I want to see if they boo Cal
Randy because obviously Mariners fans are that vindictive.
But no.
If anyone booze Cal or Randy, like, I'm judging.
I'm judging you.
Yeah.
Anyways. Yeah, it really is just about going to the ballpark.
You see the bunting. You see the special opening day, you know, uh, whatever painted into
the grass.
You get the hot dogs.
You find your seat.
Just taking a ball game, you know.
And it's been, what has it been six months since?
you got into taking a ball game and five months, whatever it's been.
And the last time I went to a ball game, I was I was riddled with anxiety.
And this time I just kind of get to chillax and just watch a game and just kind of vibe out at a baseball field again, which is nice.
And then, you know, for the rest of the year, I'll be stressed as I watch every single game.
But yeah, getting to the ballpark, seeing the pageantry of it all, the intros, the kid running around the bases and I have to try not to, you know,
die on my own tears and snot as that happens and all that.
And then the banner will be cool.
Not really looking forward to getting the magnetic team schedule.
Great giveaway, guys.
But yeah, it's getting to the ballpark.
It's having that hot dog kicking your feet up and watching some baseball.
Nothing gets better than that.
Yeah.
So we actually might have just had the lineup leak.
So on the scoreboard.
I think we could probably guess it.
Yeah.
Yeah, it's pretty straightforward, but it looks like this might actually be the lineup for game one.
So let's go over it.
Didn't expect to be able to go over this, but why not?
So Brennan Donovan hit and lead off, of course, playing third base.
Kyle Raleigh hit in second and catching.
That's right.
Cal in the lineup, crazy.
Julio hitting third, playing center.
Josh Taylor hit in fourth, playing first.
Randy Rose Arena hit in fifth, playing left field.
Luke Rayleigh.
hitting six playing right field
Dominic Canzon D-Hing hitting seventh
Leo Rivas is playing shortstop
and hitting eighth we were we were wondering about that
if they were gonna run Cole Young at shortstop or not
but Young is hitting ninth and playing second base
here on opening day so there you go pretty straightforward
other than like yeah the whole shortstop second base thing
but it's gonna be Rivas at short in place of J.P. Crawford
who unfortunately
as expected is going to start the year on the injured list alongside Bryce Miller.
So these guys will be facing Tanner Bybee, the Cleveland Guardians,
who had a decent year last year.
And of course, Logan Gilbert is going to be facing off against him.
And Gilbert, it was exactly a year ago that he last went seven innings in a game.
so it would be great if he could do that again and hopefully
arguably his best start last year was on opening day so
yeah yeah and hopefully he can set the tone for uh for a better year
where he puts up a lot more innings than he did last year
you got to set the tone got to set the tone early
that's right got to get the boys playing hard behind you in the barn you know
get that biscuit go five hole hit the celly
it's right it's a simple
game, you get the apple, you slap the biscuit, get it through the five hole, hit the
Selly, go celebrate with the boys. Get some cold ones with the boys. That's right. That's right.
The Guardians roster is relatively unchanged. You know, this was almost the ALDS matchup last year.
Almost saw these guys. Stephen Kwan, potential future meritor, maybe here in a few months.
We'll see. I'm sure that's a name that will get brought up a lot if the guardians are
entertaining selling at the deadline.
He's probably going to be the new,
he's probably going to be the new Brendan Donovan,
if I had to guess.
Probably.
Yeah.
But yeah,
it'll be Kwan,
you know,
it's J. Ram,
obviously,
you know,
perhaps the most underrated superstar in all of baseball.
You know,
Kyle Manzardo.
Reese Hoskins is a new arrival here for the Guardians.
And then Chase to Lutter,
who made his major league debut in the playoffs.
Yeah,
last year.
So he'll be and then of course Josh Taylor's brother.
Oh, behind the plate.
So yeah, it's, you know, mostly unchanged roster.
Like I said, and, you know, the bullpins, you know, pretty good.
Obviously, Kate Smith, one of the best relievers, if not the best reliever in all of baseball.
They're at the back end.
Sure.
Yeah.
Sean Armstrong, former Mariner, new addition for them for them.
Matt Fest, also former Mariner was in that bullpen.
And then of course.
and you know Stephen
Vote will probably
you know we'll talk about this more
on tomorrow show as well
when we preview the rest of the series but
Stephen vote probably going to
well yeah
Friday show but for you guys watching it is
tomorrow show Colby
vote will
we'll probably be you know
testing the Marin's depth
early on with the two lefties
that he has there with
Subrowski and Tim Heron so
we'll see how Dan kind of counters that
particularly when, you know, Luke Rayleigh and Dominic Canzon's spots in the lineup come up.
Does he, you know, again, is this like our first indication of a strict platoon with both of those guys?
Or does he actually let Canzon get some burn against them lefties?
And maybe it's just, you know, Rough Snyder comes in for Rayleigh.
Or do we actually see Robles coming in for, you know, do we see Robles and Rough Sinder coming in for both of these guys?
I mean, and what's the situation?
Are the Mariners tied?
Are they down by one?
Does Dan try for some more offense there?
are they up by three and like the sixth and he's going to heron and raley and it's like well we're up by three so let's give luke an app bad against the lefty or is it like hey let's get our best defense out there and put robles in for this at bad and knowing he might get another one and not get a hit we're going to play defense so we'll see how all that works out vote is definitely going to try and uh maneuver that that matchup for him but uh you know unlike past years it's not mitch garber coming off the bench to take that at bad it's rob ref schneider so uh maybe just maybe that changes some of the the the
calculus for for opposing managers and we'll see i'd be pretty pretty darn surprised if we didn't
see refsnyder at some point on opening night against one of those lefties well there you have it
