Now, today officially marks two years since we recorded our first episode of Locked-on Mariners.
Happy two years, Colby.
Can't really say it's been a pleasure, but congratulations to the both of us.
And you know what?
More importantly, congratulations to me for putting up with you for the last two years.
Because it's been quite the challenge.
It's been quite, quite the challenge.
So good job to me.
I'm going to pat myself here on the back real quick.
Yep.
Anything you want to congratulate yourself on here for the last few years?
No, because I'm an adult.
Congratulations to me for remembering the first anniversary, I guess.
Yeah, all right.
You know, I messed up that time.
But you know what?
I'm going to make up for it.
No, you're not.
Please, just for a second.
Excuse me.
I need to do something real quick.
All right.
Happy birthday to us.
It's not a birthday. It's an anniversary.
Happy birthday.
Like the Mary.
Happy birthday.
It's you us.
Yeah.
So.
Anniversary.
It's not a birthday too.
It's a, it's the birth of this podcast for us, even though this podcast did technically exist before we took over.
But still, it's a birthday.
It's just like, just like I had a birthday before I had an anniversary, but I don't celebrate the anniversary.
How do I put this on?
I did.
figure that out did you know here i look like a dj now ums ums ums uh can we move on before you like
drive away all the views and listens today i think i think we just got an extra 40 subscribers for this
and these are birthday candles folks yeah you guys unsubscribe i wouldn't blame you at this point
i mean the only people that have subscribed or unsubscribed rather have told me personally it's
It's because of you, because they don't like you.
Because they hate your, uh, your takes.
They hate your takes on Emerson Hancock specifically, according to the comments last night.
I mean, you know, the, the truth can be a, a long finger down the throat of those who don't want to receive it.
But, uh, the truth is the truth.
And I speak the truth.
That had as stupid.
There's another truth.
It is stupid.
It also only cost me $3.
And it was worth it.
You spent $3 on that?
I spent $3 on this at the dollar.
store which yeah three dollars at that the dollar store yeah I don't want to say
anything but I think you might have gotten ripped off tie I feel great about my
purchase personally speaking I think I look very attractive right now I think I
look like a like a birthday Oppenheimer personally here it looks that's that's
better even though it looks weird that's better so today we're gonna
preview Emerson Hancock's major league debut that's coming tonight you can
catch all the action on the mayor's home
broadcast with Sirius XM via the SXM app and at the end of the show we'll reflect a little bit on the last two years of doing this podcast together but first Colby I of course went solo on the show last night after Logan Gilbert's absolute gym against the Padres where does that rank amongst both Gilbert starts for you and just Mariners starts in general it's the best start in Mariners history is that what you want me to say yes
that generates clicks that generates views that will make up for the lack or for the loss of subscribers
sure uh yeah i i can't even be on the same screen with you right now so i'm gonna go to a different
tab when i talk about this um still and try while you're talking i'm trying to uh figure out the best
way to wear my headphones over this is fantastic radio because i'm it the hat is staying on all show
long yeah i figured um so yeah uh obviously logan was great last night it's probably the best start of his
career i think it i think it jumps past the complete game uh shut out um just barely uh it was pretty
interesting what gilbert did last night it was pretty fastball heavy but still less than 50
and then it was pretty evenly split between the slider and the splitter um obviously you know
he did some pretty impressive he he struck out won soto three times uh so anytime you can do that
that's super impressive so yeah you know it was pretty interesting he would have had
had a no hitter if they called Dylan Moore's error and error like major league baseball is doing this
thing where they just they're trying to artificially pump up up batting average to prove that
their shift restrictions are working so now like errors that have been errors for a hundred years are
no longer errors their base hits and that's what happened last night so yeah you should have had seven
no hit innings uh seven perfect innings i believe because he didn't walk anybody either so
yeah but if that was an error
Right.
Right.
I was saying that Dylan Moore made the play.
It would have been seven perfect endings.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Unfortunately,
you know,
the only thing that really kept him from going the distance is the fact that he did
strike out 12 guys,
which did,
you know,
elevate the pitch count some.
But yeah,
Gilbert was great last night.
I would say it was his best start,
probably of his career.
Certainly it's,
it's either first or second,
I would say.
You know,
it's either that start or the complete game shutout.
But yeah,
he had it all working.
you know, able to throw strikes with all of his pitches.
But, yeah, it was 49% fastball.
And then about 20% each on the, on the slider.
And the splitter and both of those pitches were really good.
And he was able to get called strikes on them and whiffs on them.
They didn't put the splitter in play last night.
So, yeah, it's pretty good when you throw 20 pitches of, you know,
of a certain pitch type.
And none of them are put in fair territory.
And it's not because they're,
were 20 balls. So yeah, Gilbert was really good last night, obviously. And somehow even better than
the slash line indicates, even though the slash line was really good. So yeah, Gilbert was sensational.
And that's good because you have a rookie going today. You're going up against you,
Darvish, who not what he once was, but still a very good pitcher. And, you know,
kind of a heat check day for the Mariners, right? You put the rookie out there. And, you're
against this pretty formidable lineup of San Diego and see if they can win their seventh game in a row.
But last night was huge.
So Logan stepped up in a big way.
And, you know, the Mariners offense is eternally grateful because they were terrible.
So Julio had a great night last night with the glove.
Also had a couple of hits.
But the big part of his game last night was the glove, the running catch and the gap,
the obviously the home run robbery of Fernando Tatis Jr. had the diving play as well.
Is Julio going to mess around and win a gold glove this year?
I mean, we'll see if he hits enough.
Right.
Right.
Right.
Which, you know, is a joke I always make, but that's because it's factual.
Because if it wasn't for offense, Juan Soto and Vlad Guerrero Jr. wouldn't have gold clubs
in their cabinet because we've seen those guys play defense live and it is ugly.
So, yeah, if he hits enough, I think he's got a real shot at it.
It's just kind of tough to think of anybody who would beat him right now because
Buxton isn't playing center field.
Trout isn't out there.
You know, guys like Keirmeyer, they've kind of moved around the outfield.
They haven't been pure centerfielders all year.
So you just kind of start running through the other American League center fielder.
And it's kind of Julio's to lose, I think.
Again, assuming he hits well enough, which he should by the end of the year.
I mean, he's at like a 113 WRC plus right now.
now that's more than enough to win the gold glove and again I get that those statements are
seen contradictory but they're really not so yeah I think he's got a good shot and you know it
would be a fun little feather in his cap because I think you know us and by us I mean just the
baseball community in general we're pretty sure that Julio was going to be about an average
center fielder like that was like his ceiling but he is taking huge strides there just in a year
and yeah, he's legitimately one of the best,
if not the best centerfielders in the American League right now.
So he does have a good shot to win that award,
and he probably should.
We'll see how he finishes the year.
But yeah, I think, you know,
he's starting to stack together highlight real plays as well,
which, you know, sometimes when you're as good as Julio
is a little bit tough to do because you make everything look routine.
Right.
But, you know, Julio obvious.
Like the catch in the gap.
Yeah, like to just a casual fan, like, oh, yeah,
you just yeah whatever but you know people who understand how hard the ball was hit the the slice of
the ball from a lefty and where how much ground who they had to cover like that that's a really good
catch um yeah you were telling me off air that you thought that was a more impressive catch than
the home run robbery yeah yeah i mean the home run robbery is is fine it was it was a wall
scraping home run it's not like you had to climb the wall and lean over and make the catch or
anything like that and it was up in the air for a long time so a guy with julio speed should get
there. Um, you know, it's just about timing the leap, right. Really is all it is at that point. Uh, the gap. The gap shot is if you take one false step, if you, if you, if you, if you, if you, if you know, he's, he's, probably a double. Uh, so yeah, it was just right off the, the, the crack of the bat. He's, he's running to the right spot. He gets to full speed incredibly quickly. And again, there's no margin for error. If he stumbles, it's a double. If, you know, he, he doesn't move immediately after the pit as, you know, after the crack of the bat.
if it's going to fall, you know, just glance off his glove.
So we saw another good center fielder last night, Trent Grisham, kind of do that.
He had one little false misstep, and it burned him on what ended up being a pretty significant Dillamore triple.
So again, Grisham is a good center fielder.
Julio's just on another level right now.
And that's great because, you know, the bat has, you know, taking a step back this year.
There's really no question about that.
But defensively, Julio has made up for it and then some.
It's just harder to see sometimes than, you know, 25 home runs and a 280 batting average.
Right.
And that's why he's still going to be, you know, a four and a half, five plus win player, you know, this year.
And, yeah, like you mentioned, he's had a couple of those signature moments this year with the glove, Heisman moments, if you will.
Obviously, the catch last night, that clip has gone around all over.
That's completely gone viral.
And obviously, the catch that he made against Baltimore and Baltimore a couple of months ago,
as well, which that one gets a little bit forgotten because the Marin has ultimately lost that
game, but that was an incredible play.
Yeah, it was better than the Tatis one.
Yeah.
Definitely.
Definitely.
That one is, that was a ridiculous sketch that he made in Baltimore.
Yeah.
One that certainly deserves more attention than it's gotten, to be honest with you.
Yeah, Julio is at 12 outs above average right now.
Yeah.
So, but, you know, again, outs above average, I'm not going to get on too long.
of a soapbox because I know we got to run here, but outs above average kind of sucks in a way.
Sure.
Because J.P. Crawford is negative 12 in outs above that. Like, really?
Yeah. We're going to offend JP Crawford is a bad shortstop. Yeah.
So defensive metrics are, for the most part, they're still dumb. And I mean that literally,
they're in their infancy. So don't take them too seriously. But just watch Julio.
Just watch and play centerfield. And it's easy.
to tell that he's significantly better than
than was last year. Yeah, he's
really fun. He's really fun.
All right, so let's talk about Emerson Hancock.
He's making his Major League debut tonight.
That's been made official as of
I don't know, 30 or so minutes ago
by the Mariners. A Twitter account,
we'll be talking about that in just a moment, but first
a reminder of this episode of the Lockdown Mariner's podcast
is brought to you by Bird Docs.
Now, there's nothing in this world that's more comfortable
than a pair of shorts from Bird Dogs.
Coming in a variety of colors with breathable, stretchy fabric and built-in underwear,
bird dog shorts are perfect for going to a barbecue,
chilling on the beach, taking in a baseball game, or just lounging around the house.
In fact, they're perfect for recording a podcast set.
Trust me, I would know.
And not only do they have a wide selection of shorts, but they also have joggers,
sweatpants, polos, and more.
It's time to look good, feel good, and play good.

And you're listening to the Lockdown Marries Podcast.
Thank you again for making us your first listen.
Again, you can catch Emerson Hancock's Major League debut tonight
on the Marry's hometown broadcast with Sirius XM via the SXM app.
And that's what we are going to be talking about now, Hancock.
He has officially been called up,
The Mariners have DFAD, Zach Muckinhern, who of course was acquired in the Chris Flex and Trevor Got Trade with the Mets about a month, month and a half ago.
And they have sent down Devin's suite.
So writer Ryan, who was called up yesterday, actually survives.
And he's going to be a part of this bullpen for the foreseeable future here.
So we talked about Hancock yesterday.
We talked about our expectations for him as a whole.
We even talked a little bit about this game and how it's a bit of a tougher landing spot than obviously what Bryce Miller got going up against the A's.
That's the easiest possible landing spot you could get.
So, you know, we know the talent in this lineup, but we also just saw Logan Gilbert shred right through them.
So what are some reasonable expectations for Hancock tonight?
Don't expect him to be Logan Gilbert because they're not in the same stratosphere.
would be a good place to start, I think.
I know a lot of people think he is,
and that's why they were so willing to trade Logan Gilbert for Lars Neupar.
Remember those conversations.
But Hancock's not that guy.
He's just not that guy.
I think reasonable expectations are if you can get you through five
and he can keep you in the ballgame,
I think you've got to be pretty happy with that.
It's just, it's hard to know because debuts are literally anything can happen, right?
the guy can be so amped that he can't throw strikes or,
or, you know, the league hasn't seen him before and they're having trouble, you know,
picking up his, his pitches and all that stuff.
Or there's more deception than they think.
And, you know, it's one of those things like, yeah, you get the scouting report on the guy.
You know what his stuff looks like.
But until you see it, you can't really adjust to it.
So it could be he's good for the first time through the lineup.
And then they make a quick adjustment and he's bad.
Like, we do not know how any rookie's debut will go.
It's impossible to predict doing so is really a fool's error.
So what can you hope for Emerson Hancock?
Keep me in the game.
You know, and honestly, it doesn't have to be more than that because the bullpen is in good shape and you have tomorrow off.
So there's no reason to try and push Hancock through five if he's just barely surviving through four.
You know, just use your bullpen.
That's what it's there for.
And if Hancock is cruising a little bit or he gets some run support and you want to try to push him for, you know, an extra inning or two, fine.
Like that's totally fine.
And it's possible that he goes out there and goes six innings and gives up two runs.
You know, that's certainly in the realm of possibility.
His pitch count has been 90 to 100 down in AA.
But I think, you know, anything that any innings you provide you where you are still in the game, like legitimate chance to win the game, I think you take as a positive in a debut.
And I think that's a realistic expectation for Hancock.
I'm excited to see him.
Certainly am.
You know, he's Kyle Gibson.
but maybe there's more like all right let me let me let me let me let me let me let me
let me let me let me ask you about that yesterday and you know people did not take
kindly to that what's wrong with kyle gibson i mean Kyle Gibson's pretty mid like he's
had a couple of good years but for the most part pretty mid you're describing
emerson Hancock it feels it feels insulting in a way well then you don't know how good
Kyle Gibson is because Kyle Gibson at his best right is a guy who's going to strike out
between eight to nine guys for nine he's gonna walk about three three and a half based on
balls for nine but did you say let me finish okay he's going to put up a high three's
fip low four phip and he's going to be a two and a half three one pitcher what is wrong with that
that is the number four starter but did you say Hancock is like Kyle like Kyle
Gibson at his best or just Kyle Gibson he's Kyle Gibson I don't know what to tell you
would you rather I say he's Chris his Chris flexen okay
Okay. That's that's very like not this year's Chris Flexen.
Okay.
2021 Chris Flexen. I'll take that. Sure. More like 2022. Chris. Flexen.
That's insulting.
He's a number four starter at best. That is who Emerson Hancock is.
Unless the slider gets magically better. That's what he is.
So how many fastball change up guys with the fastball being league average at best,
how many of those guys are mid-rotation starters?
name them well with hey development is not linear pal I know and that's why
there's more value out of the fastball but Hancock's like 25 years old so so
so the slider has to take major steps for it okay if hands so if let me finish if
Hancock sorry to tut tut tut you if Hancock slider was like 55 grade
he's a mid rotation guy because he throws strikes there's enough value out of the
fastball and now he's got to you know above
average, you know, off speed pitches, and including a changeup that I legitimately think has a
shot to be consistently 60 grade and he'll flash 65. So like the change up is legit. And that's
one of the other factors here is that he didn't throw the change up as much as maybe he should have
in Arkansas because he was trying to get the slider. Right. Now that he's in the big leagues,
is it just like I just got to throw my best pitch as often as I can because that should be the game
plan, especially for a rookie. Right. We saw them do it with Miller. My best pitch is my fast
I'm going to throw my fastball.
They did it with Wu.
Same thing.
So and you know, remember Miller's numbers in AA were not something to jump up and
down about.
He wasn't great in AA either.
So yeah, it's not, it's not Emerson's numbers that have me thinking he's a number four
starter at best.
It's just the stuff like it's ordinary command, ordinary control, ordinary fastball below average
to fringe average slider and a really good change up.
That's like a number four starter at best.
We should also mention that you are based on this opinion off of just things that you've read from people that would know more.
For people.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Obviously.
But even people like that sometimes are wrong.
All right.
Can we at that?
Sure.
And I could be wrong.
I'm not going to be, but I could be.
Because based on what Hancock is right now, his ceiling is Kyle Gibson.
And if that changes in a year, then I will adjust the ceiling.
Sure.
Like, I don't know, like, what is wrong with.
saying a guy is a number four star like Kyle Gibson's been in the league for 10 years yeah so
real quick talking about the slider right last night we saw the Mariners really hammer the
slider against a podra especially one so do we think that even with that pitch kind of lagging
behind Hancock that that's going to be the game plan better not be if it is sonos sitting two
bombs today like the slider is flat
it's not a good pitch.
You know,
like at its best,
when Hancock has his slider,
it's average.
It's 50 grade.
Yeah.
That's when he has it.
There's no guarantee he's going to have it today.
So I think your best bet on like Juan Soto,
like is the change up.
So we'll see.
You never know.
So maybe Hancock comes out today and he actually has a 55 slider for the first time
since he was at Georgia.
Like he's had it before.
Maybe he's listening to the show right now.
Maybe. I mean, I'm room for you, buddy, but I have a feeling you're going to prove me right.
Like I don't, I don't get why I'm the Emerson Hancock hater for saying like, yeah, the fastball is is mediocre.
The slider has regressed significantly since it's Georgia days.
The change up's really good.
He throws strikes, but it's not like he's George Kirby, you know.
You're a hater because you're a known hater.
Okay, but nothing I'm saying about Emerson Hancock is not factual.
by the way how did how did that demo triple feel last night fine
like i've autographed one baseball card in my life and it was demo so like clearly that says
something about me so sure yeah yeah i think that was that was momo on twitter yeah yeah
but yeah like i just i don't because i don't think hancock's going to come off and be
george kirby right away i'm a hater but he's never going to be george kirby right away i'm a hater but he's
never going to be george kirby
never look you're sorry I'm sorry you guys only look at him will be pipeline I'm sorry that you
guys think because he was the six overall pick it means that he has this incredible ceiling he did
when they took him just didn't really work he got worse like his stuff today he also he also
got he also got hurt right yeah exactly that's a lot of time to start his his professional
career right obviously you had you know the shutdown season and then he had uh was he the guy who had mono
I feel like that was maybe Gilbert his first year.
I don't think that was Hancock.
Yeah.
Yeah, but anyways, he got he got shut down his first full year in 2021.
Last year, I think that was Gilbert.
Yeah.
Last season, his season got delayed because he had a shoulder issue.
So yeah, part of it is injury.
Part of it is bad luck.
But part of it is that the guy just hasn't taken a step forward.
But but also do you think that that could allow for some room to grow here that maybe he's
still recovering and that's why some.
things are not where we thought they would be i don't know if i would say he's still recovering i think
it's more likely that he's playing catch up okay sure yeah no i don't because he's thrown a slider
so much a lot and it just doesn't get better i i don't know i don't know what the answer is is it
possible sure i mean logan gilbert added a splitter and just started thrown in spring training and
now it's probably his second best pitch like it's a good legit splitter now is hancock that guy no we've talked about
this before Hancock and like the big four mariner starters that they developed recently he is
clearly number four it's not close like or sorry number five he's it's not close it's curbie
gilbert whatever order you want to put him in i'd probably put him in that order then it's miller
woo whatever order you want to put those two in i'd probably put him in that order then it's 50 feet
of you know what and then it's Hancock like that's the difference we're talking about here
it's legitimate so anybody who's telling you that Hancock
is like the next mid-rotation starter for the Mariners.
They're projecting a lot more than I am because what based on what I see right now and what I read about right now, he's not that guy.
He's number four at best.
And there's nothing wrong with being a number four.
You need number fours.
You just happen to have, you know, five number threes are better right now.
So when they're all healthy.
All right, Emerson, you see this face right there?
When you're on the mound tonight, I want you to picture that face right there judging you.
Rudy against you.
I could hit Emerson Hancock's slider.
I'm, wow.
Okay.
All right.
All right.
Motivation,
maybe.
Derek Henry.
I can block Aaron Donald.
No,
that would be like me saying I could hit Bryce Miller's fastball.
Emerson Hancock's slider is like me saying like,
I could get like,
I could catch a pass from Gino Smith.
Like,
yeah,
I could.
I could.
I could.
Let's move on.
We're going to talk about the last two years doing this show.
Love Gino.
M. V. Gino.
I'm sorry.
Which one of us owns a Gino Smith jersey?
Right here, baby.
Definitely not.
You own a Sam Darnel jersey.
First of all, that was a bet.
But second of all, yes, I do.
It just hasn't arrived yet.
Okay.
Actually, you know what?
I think I got a JSNN instead.
I can't remember.
I ordered it two weeks ago.
Sure.
I still need to get mine.
All right. So let's talk about the last few years of doing this podcast together.
Let's go over some of our favorite memories and all that stuff in just a moment.
But first, a reminder, this episode of the Lockdown Marreras podcast is brought to you by Sleeper.

Again, you can catch Emerson Hancock's Major League debut against San Diego Padres tonight on the Mariners hometown broadcast with Sirius XM via the SXM app.
So again, it is our two-year anniversary.
Exactly two years ago today, we did our first episode of Locked-on Mariners where we, I think, did a post-game show after a game against the Yankees or something like that.
I remember talking about the Yankees, and I remember there was like some bad umpiring, which
evergreen, but I think, yeah, we spent our first 30 minutes introducing ourselves to this community
dragging the umpires of Major League Baseball, which is a pretty on brand for us.
Since then, we have done, I think, 500 plus episodes, something like that.
We've spent countless hours talking Mariners, which is something that you and I had already
been doing for quite a few years back on Soto Mojo and on our Patreon podcast,
control of zone patreon.com forward slash control the zone by the way.
But yeah, this show has been a bit of a different challenge for us because when we were doing
those other podcasts, it was only like once or twice a week. Now we're doing five or even more
some weeks shows a week now. So that's been challenging but also fun because we can keep up
with the day to day of the Mariners. And we've made a lot of memories and done a lot of cool
things and I'm curious to know, you know, what's your favorite memory of us doing this show
for the last few years? Is there like a standout moment or anything like that?
Probably the number of times we've blown past the designated ad read sections.
That's probably my favorite moment because it happens pretty much every day.
Like today. This is a very on brand show for us. It's off the rails. We blew past the ad read
sections like that's mostly you so i'm i'm having fun despite you trying to drag on the tracks
trying you know be the wet blanket of the show or the dark cloud that hangs over this show i'm sorry i
don't think emerson hancock is the number one starter okay you need to say that he's an ace a
future si young contender colby again i don't lie so well to you i do but not to the listener yeah yeah
No, I think the Luis Castillo trade episode, uh, stands out.
That was a really fun one to record.
Uh, obviously the, uh, the comeback against Toronto, uh, is a fun episode that
would have done better if you'd gotten home sooner, but you know, whatever didn't even
get to hang out.
I only had one beer that night.
So we could do the show.
What about the night before?
Do you want to disclose that?
I mean, but we, we had a very good show and people very much enjoyed that and very
much enjoyed the, uh, they did.
altered state, if you will, that I was in.
People still ask for shows like that, by the way, to this day.
Yeah, you know, it's been a lot of that.
The fundraiser we did earlier this year definitely stands out.
That's not so much a moment as, you know, movement or whatever you want to call it.
So, yeah, you know, some good times, mostly bad because I'm sitting here
with you but yeah yeah um did oh yeah there's been some fun ad reads uh to uh the blue two
ones chocolate yeah there's been a few um don't want to name names or anything but you know when your
package has arrived right yeah already already named names so we're already passed that but
so yeah uh no it's been a fun two years you know starting up the youtube side of things
which you know you were hesitant to do but of course i've
crushed it and now I think we're the second most subscribe to baseball show
uh in the locked on network so let's let's mention that real quick all right so the
the mariners right now they're they're chasing down the astros on the standings we're
also chasing down locked on astros uh to be the number one most subscribed to channel
on the locked on MLB platform so help us get there right that's your incentive is to beat the
Astros to make Astros fans sad. And the way to do that is by subscribing to us and making us the most subscribe to channel more so than locked on Astros. So help us out. Please. Even if you hate us, I know you hate the Astros more than us. So I'm just saying. If you don't, that says a lot about you. Yeah. To be honest. Yeah. Um, no, but it's it's been mostly fun. Uh, some.
Frustrations with.
Technical issues. Lots of technical issues. Sure. Yeah.
It, you know, human issues too. Uh, but all in all, uh, you know, going to
battle with some people in the comments, um, who think that they're geniuses when they're not.
Right. Uh, it's, it's been, it's been fun. Uh, really has and, uh, you know, obviously, you
know, uh, we, we got a little lucky. We, we, you know, got this opportunity.
right when the Mariners kind of started making their playoff pushes and all that stuff.
So it's been a lot of fun.
It's been a lot of hard work.
I know that Ty makes it look so easy with his stupid little hat on.
But, you know, there is work that goes into these shows.
And, you know, it's all us essentially, like that we don't have a crew or anything like that.
So any decisions we make about the show, any of that stuff, like it's just, you know, it's on tie and myself.
And, you know, I think we've done a pretty good job.
I think we're going to set more records again this year just in terms of our views and our listens and all that stuff.
And then we just keep on building, you know, didn't think we'd ever get to 10,000 on YouTube.
And we're slowly creeping up.
We're 8100 to go.
And, you know, I didn't think that, you know, I guess probably the most surprising thing.
And I know we got to wrap it up because we had like a 40 minute show yesterday.
And I think the day before.
So, but I would say probably the party.
We can cry if we want to.
Don't start it. I don't want to get DMCA. I don't want to get DMCA. So I just I kept it at that. I kept it at that. But yeah, like it's been it's been amazing. It's been really cool to see how much the community is grown and really like I didn't realize the strength of our community until we did that fundraiser. Yeah. And to see everyone come out because it wasn't just the I'm not even just talking about the big donations that we received, which we're incredibly grateful for obviously the recent ties got that tattoo right now. That's right. That's right. But obviously also.
So just all of the, you know, the smaller donations too, just to see the the quantity of donations that we received.
I think we received like 200, 300 donations, something like that when it was all set and done, you know,
because like some are just, you know, $1, $5 here and there.
But even that, that was all so amazing.
It was so great to see you guys support an amazing cause and see what we can do with even, you know,
what is still relative to, you know, YouTube communities, right?
pretty small but it's it's pretty pretty cool we're like top half a percent in terms of like all
youtube channels but that's because most people just have their channel that are in there that's you
know that's what they watch and subscribe on which we appreciate but yeah that was is the the
fundraiser's definitely kind of a um i would say probably the biggest milestone uh for us
because it was what 15 000 i think is the final number uh and
And it was, it was awesome to track.
And it was just funny because, you know, Ty and I started.
And I think what the original goal was like, maybe we could squeeze $500.
I asked Ty, I was like, you think that's a reasonable goal?
And he's like, yeah, that's probably pretty reasonable for 30 days.
And so, yeah, I set it at 500 and we were at 500 by the end of day two.
Yeah.
I remember you messaged me.
We were driving back from Vegas to Arizona to spring training for that.
And yeah, had no clue.
Had no clue we were even going to sniff $1,000, not alone 15K.
So that was really.
Yeah, I just, I remember.
Yeah, you were at springtime.
I was like, hey, you know what we should do?
We should do a feeding America, like, I want to do a fundraiser and like.
Yeah.
See, we had done one in a while.
Like we had only done them on, you know, on our Patreon.
And that's been a few years.
And then, yeah.
And by the way, guys, we're going to, we're going to do another.
fundraiser at some point. Don't worry about that.
It just, you know, we don't want to hit you guys up too much.
And, you know, I don't know if it'll be feeding America again.
Maybe it'll be something clean water. I don't know.
It's going to be for Ty's wallet.
And that'll do it. Thanks for ruining it.
And I just got us canceled.
There you go.
No, real quick, though, before we hop off, I just want to mention a couple other things.
The what the Mariners ending the drought would mean to you series that we did.
That was awesome to see all the submissions because even back then,
you know, we had benefited benefited greatly from the wind streak last summer.
But even then we had maybe two and a half K,
3,000 subscribers somewhere in that ballpark.
So to get that many submissions with that subscriber total was awesome.
And those videos were so fun to do.
And just so appreciative of everyone that participated in that.
Also, you know, you mentioned us getting this.
job. But I'd be remiss not to mention who's responsible for helping us get this job.
I want to send a big thank you to Sean Woodley, host of Lockdown Raptors, who was the
Lockdowne MLB Division lead until about a year ago. Now it's Jeff Carr of Lockdown Reds.
Sean reached out to a friend of the show, Jason Churchill, over at Prospect Insider and Future
Star Series. And Jason referred him to us, referred
Sean over to us. And so we are
incredibly grateful to both Sean
and Jason for that as well.
So thank you guys. And
yeah, if it wasn't for them, we wouldn't be
doing the show, probably.
So, yeah. So it's been
a lot of fun. Really,
