After going one in five over their last six games, the Mariners are now seven games under 500,
and you obviously have questions.
So let's answer a few of them.
Colby, hit it.
You are locked on Mariners.
Your daily Seattle Mariners podcast.
Part of the Locked on podcast network, your team every day.
Ahoy, sailors.
It is Monday, August 10th, 2026.
My name is Tadie Gazzalus, and I'm joined as always by my co-o's Colby Patnaud.
This episode is brought to you by Fanduel.
Join all the action at Fandual.com to play Daily Dangers
and make your free pick on who's at the Homer,
this MLB season.
It's open up the mailbag and answer some of your merrier's questions.
And of course, we've got some stuff to talk about on this show,
considering the Mariners just went one in five to finish out their latest road
or homestand, rather.
And now there's seven games under 500.
But I don't want to come out guns blazing,
just yet here. I want to start on a more
lighter note because don't worry,
we will spend plenty of time getting into
the hard-hitting stuff here.
But I want to start here with DJT's line.
We actually had the pleasure of meeting
on Saturday, both you and I
Colby. And I also
want to give a shout out to DJT's dad,
Ted, who is a big fan of our show
as well. I hope you're
doing well, and you both are
watching today. And again, it was
a pleasure to meet you on Saturday.
So aside from the outcome of the games, what was your favorite part of the 50th celebration weekend?
Did you meet any of the legends?
A lot of good stuff happened.
A lot of fun stuff happened on the weekend.
We had the Derby.
We had obviously the unveiling of the top 50 players in team history.
We had the Rick Riz announcement, which I think that's ultimately my answer here.
Just seeing Rick and seeing him get emotional when the announcement was made.
You know, hearing him speak to us in the stands, to everyone watching at home as well.
I think that was my favorite part.
And then obviously, you know, for us, like catching up with a lot of the Mariners content creators
and, you know, meeting a lot of you guys as well at the ballpark.
Like, that was really cool.
But I think for me, just like in terms of like the actual events that the Marys did,
yeah, Rick for sure is my answer.
Yeah.
First of all, hi, Ted. Hope you're having a good day.
Yeah, I mean, the Rick stuff is obviously what stands out.
It gets inducted way too late into the Mariners Hall of Fame, but he's there.
And we do know that there will be a like official ceremony next year.
Usually they get a weekend, and I assume Rick will too.
And usually that takes place in August.
Now, this year it was kind of different because they had the 50th anniversary thing in
August. So they did the Randy Johnson thing in May, but whatever. So be on the lookout for that next summer.
If we get, let's help next summer, you know, we'll see. We'll see about that. But anyways, yeah,
the Rick stuff really stood out, obviously. And it was, it was a surprise that they didn't clue Rick in on.
So we got a good reaction out of that. I would say the Rick stuff was the best. I think the sneaky number two is probably,
Ryan Roland Smith and his performance in the home run derby.
Hitting two dingers.
I was just today,
just this morning,
able to listen to the call from Aaron on both of them.
Get in,
Heisen.
Get in,
Jason.
And then,
you know,
of course,
he shows up.
He comes out wearing like the Steve Irwin outfit and all that.
I was like,
okay,
okay,
that's pretty good.
That's leaning into it.
So that was funny.
You know,
all this ball d'all hours.
I had the chance to see him.
I had a chance to see him.
and he was he was glowing about it and like more people came up to him afterwards and they were like man that was awesome so I bet he's just been getting that all weekend long yeah so yeah I don't I don't assume he was in the booth yesterday with with Aaron I assume that went well but I've watched a mariner's broadcast in a week yeah so been pretty it is it is that was that was really good the alumni home run Derby is something I hope they bring back at least semi annually
It's a lot of fun and it did actually, you know, improve the mood after a
another bad loss in which the Mariners didn't do anything.
So, yeah, it was a really good weekend from that regard.
The Rick stuff, though, really stands out.
We've asked this question for, I don't know, since we started the show, like,
when is Rick going to be in the Hall of Fame?
Why isn't Rick in the Hall of Fame yet?
So, yeah, that was really awesome.
we'll see how they
decide to
proceed with it next year
but you know one thing we know
and one thing that was proven again this weekend
the Mariners are very good at these type
of events so I'm sure it'll be awesome
yeah they are and then yeah I did
go to the Legends photo
day thing yesterday with
Ben Rennery who's been on the show a few times and a couple of his
buddies and yeah we got to meet a lot of the
legends we didn't get to meet all of them
because they had it set up where the players would
to you. And so we were pretty close to the visiting dugout. And so they would come out from
that tunnel that's like beside the visiting dugout. And some would go to the left and start
working their way towards left field. And then some would go right and start working their way to
right field and up the, you know, up the first baseline. So we didn't get to meet everyone,
unfortunately, didn't get to meet Felix, didn't get to meet each row, both of those guys.
Unfortunately, went to the left away from us when they first came out.
And by the time the event was done, they had only made it to like right center, right field somewhere in there.
So we weren't even close to being able to see those guys.
And Ben was very bummed that we didn't get a chance to meet Felix, as was I, obviously.
But Ben got a pretty cool consolation prize.
Nelson Cruz at the very end made it to us.
And Ben like leaned over the rope.
And he's like, hey, hey, hey, can I get a picture?
Can I get a picture?
And so made sure to get a picture of Ben and Nellie.
That was really cool.
Got to meet James Paxon again.
And we might actually have Pax on the show here sooner rather than later.
Because Pax is now on the podcast game and was talking to him a little bit about that.
So we'll see on that.
I got to meet Asashi I would come out, which was awesome.
That was so cool.
John Olerud.
But of course, the biggest one was Ken Griffey Jr.
And that was the first player we actually met too, which was pretty crazy.
I will say like a couple of these guys didn't seem like they really wanted to be there.
Which like, I get it.
It's very early.
and they were probably out celebrating the night beforehand, you know, having a good time, you know, with with the actual events last night.
Yeah, just, I don't know, I was time with a couple of guys that they were, they were not as thrilled to be there as some others.
Bruce Bakhti was awesome, by the way.
He was so stoked to be there.
He was like really nice to us.
Oh, yeah, Jamie Moyer was really nice too.
That Jamie Moyer and he was like, he actually like chatted with us for a little bit, wanted to know where we're all from and all.
that stuff. Oh, one really cool one for me was Mark McLemore. I love Mark McLemore growing up. Yeah,
that was really cool meeting him. So Mark McLemore, soon to be one of only like, what, six Mariners with
a statue. Yeah. Yeah. Him and Cammy. Are they doing that in September? Yes. September, I think the first
homestand, it will end up September 5th, I believe. Yeah, they'll also be the, what do they call in it?
Not Victory Plaza.
Whatever.
Down in the center field gate,
they'll have the new display and the statue and all that.
So yeah.
So still yet another reason to come to the ballpark because it's certainly not to watch this team.
Yeah, yeah.
But it was a fun weekend, despite how bad the performance was on the field.
All right.
Let's get into it.
Nick wants to know who if anyone amongst the front office and coaching staff is safe,
if slash when the mayor has missed the player.
I would be pretty surprised if there was major front office shakeup.
And that's not to say they should or they shouldn't.
I would just be surprised if there was a big shakeup of Jerry or Justin or any of the top guys.
Because then you have to replace them in this front office or this front office is proven,
at least.
And again, this doesn't matter to you and I, but it does matter to the ownership group that they can build a team that will get people to come to the ballpark.
you know and that's mostly what they care about uh and they've also won you know quite a bit
this year notwithstanding uh so it is i'd be pretty surprised by that uh the coaching staff uh i think
it is like it should be higher than this but i do think it is like a true 50 50 that dan is back
at the end of this year after this year um again it should be like no chance he's back but
I do think there's a slight chance.
And then the hitting staff is really where things,
what do you do with Edgar?
Because, you know, the team didn't play or like this weekend,
the team actually didn't play that poorly.
Like they didn't make big mistakes.
They pitched okay.
They actually played some decent defense.
They hit a few home runs.
It just they can't hit, you know?
And every time they got somebody on base, they just couldn't hit.
And you just kind of, look, it's not really their fault.
The Mariners had a couple.
of balls that, you know, probably should have dropped.
That didn't. And, you know, meanwhile,
on the other side, the race had a bunch of stuff that just
found the perfect spot and they scored
how many runs off of those hits. And it just
kind of like, Liam Hicks yesterday,
man, like, come on. It broke us.
It's just one of those things where it's like,
that actually is, like that weekend
actually is, that's just baseball sometimes.
But you can't say it every single
day from March until now
and then expect it to have the same fight.
So I, you're not in the,
you're not in a position to sustain
that's just baseball games.
No, and again, it's like you can't keep on saying that's just baseball, that's just baseball,
when you like lose 11 to nothing and then keep it going when you lose three tough games against the best team in the American League.
Like you played as well as they did basically for three straight days.
Like you just can't hit.
So, you know, you already fired Maggianas obviously didn't help.
So yeah, Siteser, Edgar, the whole thing is going to be interesting to see.
And obviously Edgar carries some of the same problems that day.
does do you want to fire edgar martinez like i guess is edgar is going to step down which did they
when egger was a hitting coach lost time did they fire him or did he step down no he step yeah he step
down so i think that's that was actually happen again yeah that was actually like a more legitimate
stepping down because the offense was actually okay that year after he stepped down so yeah like
you know that's always kind of the best case scenario when you hire these legends is that they
mutually agree to part ways and like I need to spend more time with my wife or whatever and that's
usually the way these things go and and that's my guess as to what's going to happen with Dan as well
yeah so I I think there's a zero percent chance they fire him in season I think there is probably a
I don't know I'd say 50 to 60 percent chance that this is the last year he'll manage the mariners
And, you know, and then that's where it gets interesting because, like, if you bring in a new manager, right, you'd go outside the org to hire the manager, which you should.
I mean, at the very least interview people from outside the org.
If you do that, like, then Trent Blank might leave or Pete Woodworth might leave because, well, you know, these guys might want to bring in their own guys.
So we'll see.
It's just tough.
The Mariners haven't had a real managerial search since they hired Scott's service.
So it's tough to know how they would react to that.
But yeah, I think the front office is pretty safe.
Again, regardless if you like that or not, don't really care.
I'm just telling you what I think.
I think the coaching staff is going to have some major, major shake-ups.
But it's not going to happen until after the season.
Yeah, I think there will be real change.
I just don't think it's going to be as much change as probably a majority of the fan base once.
Yeah.
I think at least some parts of the coaching staff,
will remain the same.
Hopefully, you know, on the pitching side of things, yeah.
You know, hopefully he stays and hopefully Trent Blank stays.
I think they really like Eric Young Jr. and Perry Hill.
I don't know enough about, you know, the job that Austinola has done, but, you know, maybe
Osceola stays, you know, so.
So we'll see on that front.
But, yeah, I don't think there will be front office changes.
though I do think it's fair
for this organization to at least assess
if Jerry DePoto and Justin Hollander
are putting them in the best position to succeed
moving forward.
It is a fair conversation to have.
Yeah.
All right.
We will answer more of your questions
in just a moment,
but first a reminder of this episode
of the Locktime Airs podcast
is brought to you by Amazon.
This back-to-school season
spend less on your kids with Amazon.
We all know how crazy
the back-to-school shopping experience can be.
Starts with a few items on the list.
Then suddenly you're shopping for supplies and clothes and lunch gear and tech
and about 10 other things you didn't see coming.
It adds up fast.
Like when your kid spends days planning the perfect first day of school outfit because they want to make a great first impression,
you end up putting almost as much thought into it as they do.
At least the first day photos are worth it.
Or how about when it's 9 p.m.
The night before school starts and somebody suddenly remembers they need folders and notebooks and markers
and apparently 12 other things nobody mentioned until now.
Nothing gets the heart rate up quite like emergency school shopping.
And I'm convinced that Primes delivered tomorrow before 7 a.m.
feature was created exclusively for parents in this specific moment.
So remember, with Amazon's low back-to-school prices,
just spend less on your kids because every dollar you don't spend on them
is a dollar you haven't spent on them.
Shop back-to-school at Amazon and spend less on your kids.
your kids.

Let's get back into your questions here on
Mailbag Monday.
MJFB80 wants to know if slash
when they move on from Dan. Do you think the front
office will look in the mirror at some things they can
prove on better defensively,
bench, deeper bullpen, etc. as a few
examples. Or just say a new
voice that the manager is all we need.
you could put a fresh coat of paint on a on a car and make it look good and shiny on the outside but if the engine is cracked you're not going anywhere you know and so the mariners have and i you know to the to the front office like to their credit they don't have a great ownership group so they do kind of have to try and pick and choose where they want to spend their resources and if you say well do you want to spend resources on like your everyday players or do you want to spend the resources on like the band
and the front end of the bullpen, like, where are you going to spend your limited money?
Yeah, I mean, it makes sense to spend it on the players who are going to play the most.
But this weekend, we saw a team in the race that have a really stacked bullpen,
and they have a deep bench with multiple guys who can hurt you in different ways.
And, you know, you just see the difference late in games that, you know, teams can bully you in a certain way.
So what's interesting about the Mariners is that, again, they don't have the unlimited resources to be like,
okay, we're going to go build a strong bench.
They have to build that out of like league minimum guys, you know,
and then they go and they get a Rob Ref Snyder.
It's like, okay, well, cool, if Reff Snyder hits, that's awesome.
But if he doesn't, he's a worthless player.
Like, where's the versatility on the bench?
Where is the guy who's like, okay, well, he doesn't hit, but, you know,
he plays a heck of a right field or center field or whatever,
or he runs the base as like a maniac or what, like,
this has been a thing of mine for a couple of years now, Ty.
They don't care about their bench.
and that's a big mistake because when you're not going to be the team that spends $700 million on Wonsoto to put a bow on it,
you have to care about the margins.
And the Mariners, I don't know that, I don't think that they don't care about them.
I think this is a calculated risk they take because they know they only have X number of money
and they want to try and build up the top half of their roster as much as they can.
And so those cuts have to come from somewhere.
And lately they've come in the bullpen and on the bench and kind of in those auxiliary, you know,
ancillary pieces.
So, yeah, we'll see what they do.
I will say, you know, that this
winter, they'll have
JP off the books, they'll have Randy
off the books, they'll have most
of Luis's money off the books at that point.
So they should,
should have a pretty decent pot.
And obviously, some of that will be eaten up by
our guys and whatnot, maybe
an extension or two. But you're also going to be like,
hey, Kate Anderson's going to be our rotation, making
league minimum.
You know,
Arroyo is going to be your opening
day left field are making league minimum.
You know, you're going to have these guys that are going to be replacing these 10,
$15 million year players and they're going to be making the league minimum.
Maybe that is, maybe this is the time where they go out and they actually like, hey,
instead of giving all of our money to one guy, let's spread it around.
Let's go get the Phil Maeton and the Willie Castro instead of getting one, you know,
Josh Naylor, especially now since we feel like we've built up the core enough that,
and we're adding Cole Young to the core and Colt
Emerson's a part of this, you know, and so you just kind of, it's interesting to see what happens
this offseason, but also what if they don't get any money to spend? Because obviously,
Stanton sucks and, you know, oh, there's a lockout. So we have to be really careful with how we spend
our money because we don't know how long that's going to take. So we'll see what happens, but I
hope the Mariners are looking at this and they're going, hey, man, we could kind of tweak the way
we do things. We still want to hit home runs. Obviously, that's how you score runs at Team Mobile
part. But let's lean a little more into the defense, the base running. Let's
build out a bench. Let's really try to utilize our resources as best we can and at least make
some minor tweaks to it. But yeah, I mean, I think the concern that they just might be like,
hey, this was a fluke year. We've hired a new manager. Let's just run it back. I do I do understand
that concern because they've done it before. Well, and also in terms of the roster build, it's like
the raise and the Brewers, who are the two best teams in their respective leagues this year,
they have built an incredibly balanced position player group
and an incredibly balanced roster as a whole,
but specifically focusing on the position player group,
they built an incredibly balanced position player group
that runs the base as well, plays good defense,
and still also has star power on a lower payroll than you have.
So like, honestly, figure it out, to be frank.
Sure, but also the Mariners front office.
office and about 26 others aren't as good as the rays and the brewers run offices.
Like the rays and the brewers are like top three or four like the Dodgers obviously,
but the Dodgers have unlimited resources.
So it's kind of an unfair comparison there.
Like the Mariners are very good.
But those guys are like at another level.
So it's kind of like the holding like, well, just do what Tampa does.
And it's like, oh, I mean, that's easier set than done.
I mean, sure.
Yeah.
But it's just like that's kind of how you, you have to operate.
rate, you know?
Well, and I will say this, just to kind of kick it back before we move on here.
You know who really cares about winning on the margins?
You know who really cares about doing everything possible to just tip the scale slightly
into their advantage so that they can take advantage of these situations?
The raise in the brewers.
They're very big on winning on the margins.
Yeah.
And look at them now.
All right.
We will answer a couple more of your questions in just a moment.
But first, a reminder of this episode of the lockdown.

Running a business shouldn't feel like you're trying to connect a bunch of systems that were never designed to work together.
One app for accounting, another for inventory, another for sales, and somehow none of them talk to each other.
That's where Odu comes in.
Odo is an all-in-one business management software that brings every part of your business together in one powerful platform.
From sales and accounting to inventory and marketing, everything works in one place, helping your team move
faster, stay organized, and focus on growing the business instead of managing software.
The best organizations know that success isn't just about talent.
It's about having everyone working towards the same goal.
And that's true in sports just like it is in business.
You know, when we're talking about the Mariners, we talk about how they have the same
philosophy at the majors as they do all the way down at the lower levels of the minors.
Even with all these different factions, the organization itself is one.
They have a vision, they stick to it, and last season showed us what's possible when
everyone is working from the same playbook.
Great organizations win because operations matter.

Link in the description of this
episode. Getting back into your questions
here on Mailbag Monday, Code Mode
wants to know what would be the ideal
time to call up Arroyo
and Laz. Could they even both fit
on this roster?
Las's like, honestly at this point,
if you want to do it fine but like it las is actually starting to kind of get it together
his numbers his overall numbers have greatly improved as of late and the zone contact rate
has gone up substantially it's still only 61 percent which is still first percentile but
it was like 50 percent literally uh like a week or so ago so yeah he has made some strides
in that department so i don't know if you want to just
interrupt that right now.
But like, look, at this, you know, at this point, and especially like if we get into
September and you're like 10 games under or whatever, sure, call up last.
I don't, I don't care.
Sure, but September's like 20 days away.
Like, let's not pretend it's right around the corner here.
So yeah, Roy, there's the whole like PPI, right?
Is that what it says?
Yeah.
So they're not going to, they're not going to do it until at least August 15.
right like you're you're close enough even if you don't think like michael o'royo's going to win
rookie of the year next year or whatever like you might as well yeah you might as well right now
when you're only five days out from it yeah you might as well wait so my hunch would be next
homestand uh would have been nice if you could have like called them during the astro series
because that you know probably your last chance to stay in this thing probably going to end up
needing a sweep there too to do it.
So, yeah, but it's going to be, you know, at least another week or five to seven days at minimum
because I do think they want to protect that PPI pick just in case, you know, and again,
even though Lazz and Arroyo aren't likely to win rookie of the year, they don't really have that
kind of profile.
Why not take the chance when your team's seven games under 500?
Like, it's funny.
Like, I think this team is so bad or like they're in such a bad shape right now that it actually
makes it harder to call up Roy.
Like if this team was like 500,
they might be like,
screw the pick.
We have to try and,
you know,
push our chips in here.
Let's get Arroyo up here now.
He's one of our best players.
But because they're so far under,
it's like,
well,
why waste the opportunity to maybe get that draft pick next year?
By calling him up five days sooner than we would have,
you know,
so yeah,
I think we'll see Arroyo this year.
There's a chance we see Las in September.
It's just kind of right now,
like,
Royo, or sorry, Ward, Julio, Randy, Canzone, all need to be in the lineup.
Not a lot of opportunities for Laz.
Also, kind of part of the reason why Royo, just a little bit of trouble finding him a spot
because you're not going to bench Cole Young, you're not going to bench Randy or Ward.
Now you get into August and September, and maybe you don't care that much about Ward,
but I do think the Mariners are still looking at Taylor Ward is like, hey, this is kind of a runway tryout here to see if we want to bring you back.
So I don't think they're just going to be like, screw them.
Doesn't matter.
Put them on the bench.
Yeah.
I mean, maybe you go like whatever, who cares about the defense.
We just want to get Arroyo in the lineup with some consistency.
We're going to move Cole Young over to shortstop.
Yeah.
And play Arroyo at second.
Yeah, there's some pieces they can move.
None of them are that good.
And they're not going to call up Arroyo and Lazz to sit on the bench.
Like maybe September like they did last year with Harry Ford.
Maybe.
but I don't see it.
Like you're going to call these guys up.
You're going to play them.
And so otherwise, there's no reason to call them up.
Just put them down there and let them play every day.
So I do think that Arroyo, I do think we'll see Arroyo at some point this year.
I'm pretty confident about that.
Laz, I would still be somewhat surprised.
My favorite thing about Las is that the same people I see complaining about the
Mariners striking out too much are also the ones banging the table for
Las to get called up because he would help someone.
much and it's just like, boy, I can't wait for you guys to watch Laz.
Like once the league kind of like gets the book on him after a week or two and just
things could get up.
But also they would be fun.
They would be fun.
Yeah.
I guess the idea too with Laz is like how much value can extract before the league gets a
book on them.
I saw someone theorize that in, in the mailbag tweet as well.
Yeah.
If it takes like two weeks to get the book on Laz and then, you.
he just falls apart like how much value like you say can you get out of those two weeks where
the league is kind of trying to you know figure out where to pitch him and all that could he could he
could he hit like five tanks during that right and so it's like okay do we want to call him up now
and then we send him back down or do we want to now keep in mind oroyo and lads are both rule five
eligible so they will be added to the well that's the other thing too so like again like if
if you make it to september and you're just in games under which is a very real possibility
considering how the rest i mean honestly he's kind of surprising if they're
weren't. Yeah. So like if you get to September at that point. Yeah. Yeah. Call up last. Why not?
Klotzlufkis wants to know baseball has a lot of variance, but what can explain a sustain little over half a season underperformance by most of the same people.
Nagging injuries overworked the previous year, just plain randomness. It's a combination of everything. Yeah.
The answer is yes. Right. It's it's all of that bald and a one. And some of it is just,
inexplicable. Some of it is stuff that like people like us will never know because we're not there and we're not living through it like those guys are.
But yeah, like there are a lot of guys that are still playing through things. Cal is still playing through something.
Naylor's still playing through stuff like that. Yeah. Like that's obviously a big part of it. Yeah. These guys played a lot last year and then they played in the WBC and you know, they played in spring training. Like they played a ton.
They've played a ton of baseball here over the last, you know, 15, 16 months, right?
Yeah.
So I hope that this season teaches us anything.
It's that do not allow your players to play in the WBC.
It is terrible, especially if you made a deep playoff run.
By the way, you know who else is hurt and had a bad year?
Will Smith.
You know who else's had a really bad year?
Alejandro Kirk.
maybe catchers shouldn't go to the WBC ever,
especially if they played late into October.
That just seems like a terrible idea.
And by the way,
all three of the big catchers there,
oh,
you know also that a really bad year?
Austin Wells.
Like,
it's almost like maybe there's a connection there
between playing deep into the season,
catching every day,
and then getting like a month off at most
before you have to rent out of back up.
And then be a lot of,
you're not with your pitching staff.
You're not getting those reps.
in game. You're only playing every other day
at most anyways as
the catcher. So you never really find your footing
so you try to ramp up quickly to catch up
and then all of a sudden you put strain on your oblique
and now your oblique's an issue and you spend
two months there and you come back and
because you're a catcher and because of the way
you have to move and because
of the torque of your swing, that oblique just never
really heals and you end up
hitting a buck 60 after you hit 60
home runs the year before. So
yeah, insert Bill Burr
you know, voice here.
where he starts to scream.
Don't be a catcher in the WBC.
Never again, Cal.
But yeah,
I think it's mostly nagging injuries.
And I think the nagging injuries are directly correlated to the long season they had the year before.
And then,
yeah,
I just random too.
Yeah,
I do think that's a big part of it.
There's just a lot.
And then also the mental side of it as well,
you know,
the immense pressure that has continued to build over the course of the year when you continue
to struggle.
And it just feels like you can't.
can't find your way out of this hole that you've dug yourself in.
Yep.
You know, and just all the expectations that was on everyone's shoulders, especially Cal.
Like, I can't imagine what Cal has been going through mentally over the course of this season.
Baseball is a big part of it as well.
It is just difficult in a way that most people do not understand.
It's brutal.
It just beats you down.
I mean, it beats us down as fans.
Can you imagine actually being the guy, right?
Can you imagine being Cal Raleigh this season?
like being in his shoes like yeah that's
well there's no idea away from it either
you play every day
yeah yeah so I feel for him
but it's been it's been rough and
yeah for a lot of these guys I think it's just a combination
of everything that you brought up and more
all right last question of the day from
S wants to know Ty what was your favorite moment in Seattle
if you aren't back favorite moment this far
today is my last day in town
leaving tonight here in a few hours.
So much.
Like, where do you even begin, honestly?
Like, this whole week has been crazy.
As you can tell, my voice is gone.
I don't know when it's coming back either.
I think for me, like, on a personal level,
like bringing my wife here,
getting her to see everything and just kind of showing her,
you know, a little bit.
And there was so much that I wanted to do here that we wound up not
doing just because of time and because we're going to all the games and stuff.
But like being able to at least get to show her a little bit of, you know,
where I would go as a kid and all that was really cool.
Like taking the walk down Occidental for the first time with her was really special.
And then obviously, you know, this feels like pandering or whatever, but it's true.
Like meeting you guys and like putting faces to a lot of the names and all that and like
having people come up and just show their appreciation for the show.
and, you know, saying things like welcome home and stuff like that, like, was really, really cool.
And then, like, getting to meet you guys alongside Colby as well.
And, like, having those conversations with you guys and, you know, giving out the stickers and all that was just awesome.
And I think we gave out quite a bit of them.
I have them.
I'll be taking them with me, I guess, because Colby's back in Yakima.
So I'll be taking them with me.
You guys are in Toronto for that Mariners series at the end of the month.
I'll bring them with me.
Yeah, I'll bring them with me.
Yeah. So if you're in Toronto, let me know.
And then we might
give them away as well at some point.
I'll send them to you guys.
But yeah, it was just like
really cool meeting you guys, obviously
meeting Colby for the first time and
meeting all the other.
I mean, you're pretty far down the list.
You're like, you made the list, but you're
like, excuse me.
I am Joe Ellen's favorite.
So also, hi, Midge.
Yeah, hi, Midge.
Hi, Joe Allen.
Hi, to just so many.
I mean,
Colin.
Did I get, I got recognized by like, like, between like when, when you were here,
but also like the games that I went to by myself and then when I went to the photo day yesterday,
like, I probably got to recognize over a hundred times.
Like, stop just like.
And then some of you were just like, hey, what's up, you know, little fist bump and kept it
which that was cool but also like for any of you that stopped by I wanted to have a conversation I was more than happy to do so and it was just really really cool to have those moments with you guys and I know there's some people that that were there that I didn't get the chance to meet that did want to meet and I'm sorry that we didn't you know I wasn't on Twitter much this week just because of everything going on it was just crazy so I did see some of you that were like hey where you sitting and I just I wasn't able to get to get you
to your message in time.
But it was just really cool to finally like see people face to face,
see people that, you know, we've collaborated with in the past face to face,
see people that I really, you know, respect their work, seeing them and showing my
appreciation.
Catching up with some people like catching up with Gary yesterday was really cool to do.
You know, haven't seen Gary since the ALCS last year.
Getting to finally see hyphen in person was really cool.
cool. I'm going to say what's up to him.
And yeah, just getting all the content creators together in one space for that
photo that we we posted on Twitter, which is hashtag not sponsored by Fred Meyer.
But although we are although hit us up.
It's up. But yeah, that was really cool to meet Jage.
We got to get Jage out next time.
Yeah, for sure.
But like getting like almost everyone together in the same spot was like really cool from, you know, the people that do stuff on YouTube to the people that just do some stuff on Twitter to the people that do, you know, that make content over on Instagram.
Like just getting a lot of those people all in the same spot for one photo and like just hanging out watching a couple of endings together.
Mostly because PJ and a while big, big time to us and like took forever to come down to our section.
They got there.
They got there.
But they definitely big league us, I'm sure.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
But yeah, just like seeing everyone there was like really cool, getting to hang out,
getting to hang with the Mariner Mojo Boys and getting to hang out with TJ and Lowe.
We did some content with T.J. and Lowe, which they've posted some of already,
and you guys will probably see more of that over the coming weeks on their page.
But, yeah, man, it was awesome.
It was so, so fun.
And like, you know, when I'm on my flight tonight and like when I'm in New Mexico
over the next week and when I get back home, like I'll be able to reflect more on it.
It's just like the last few days have felt like such a whirlwind.
Like I can't even like remember everything that has happened just like off the rip right now.
But like just so many cool moments.
And the city really is really a special.
And that ballpark, man.
That ballpark is...
Proper ballpark.
That's elite.
It's a lead.
That's a fantastic ballpark.
Yeah.
Enjoy your parking garage at the end of the month, Ty.
I'll be at the proper ballpark.
At least the roof will be open, hopefully.
But, yeah.
It's open all weekend, Ty.
Yeah.
One of the crown jewels of Major League Baseball.
Again, enjoy your parking garage.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I won't, but...
hopefully the product on the field is a little bit better.
I mean,
I'd say it couldn't get much worse,
but again,
they actually played like decent this weekend.
They just didn't get any hits,
like to land.
Yeah.
But yeah.
I'll always have Wednesday.
I'll always have Wednesday.
How many double plays you see Randy grown into this week?
Do the thing, Ty.
Do the thing.
He said that to me so much over the course of the weekend.
I was like,
I was I was sitting there just pray
I wish you took a picture of me
I'm sure like every random
this is the sure disappointment
yeah yeah also if you guys
need help picking the winning lotto numbers
maybe hit Ben Reneery up on
on Twitter
go join his substack
dude yeah that was that was a highlight
so so Saturday we're sitting
one section over from Ben
and Ben like earlier on in the day tweeted
a video of Josh
going yard and he was like today's the day right
and it had been since June 12th that Naylor had
you know hit a homer and
first pitch against the lefty
was it Camboozer?
I think it was Camboosier. Yeah.
Yeah. First pitch
goes yard. The same spot that
or roughly the same spot
that Naylor homered in that video that Ben posted
we immediately look over to Ben.
and Ben just got the smirk on his face
and I'm like
And then Josh was that.
Yeah, the nailer doubles and we look over again
And just Ben's like
The aura.
He's just, he's like a aura farming.
And then and then
And the nailer overs again
And Ben's over there taking a bow.
He's got his hat off. He's like,
Yes, thank you. It was me.
And then he nearly did it again yesterday.
I know.
nearly called the Taylor Ward
So that one was a public
Yeah
Yeah
Ben texts me
He's like you ready for the Taylor Ward
laid off home run
And
Missed it by like a foot
And
Colby and I are watching it
I literally I think
I think you looked over me
My mouth was just like I didn't even react
I was just like
Unfortunately it was all downhill
From there afterwards
But yeah
Ben had himself a good weekend
With the prognostication
so yeah yeah
if only he could have done that for like
a you know a multi run
home run or something like that that would have been
nice but like whatever
you know Ben's pick to click God
so there you go
yeah I mean
I had you know I did a
I did pick to click in Toronto a couple years
ago I picked Dom Kanzone to go yard
and that happened and Gary hit me up and he was like
all right let's do it again
and I forget who I picked
but yeah, it did not happen.
Yeah, so I used up all my magic that one day.
But yeah, sorry I couldn't bring the magic that I typically have,
more often than not in Toronto.
But I don't think my powers are capable of saving the 2026 Seattle mirrors.
I think the suckiness is too great for even myself.
But yeah, again, I just want to thank everyone for,
being so welcoming and not just to me, but also to my wife, Caroline, for everyone that met her as
well. And, you know, you guys were just so nice to her. And, you know, a lot of, you know,
quite a few people were like, oh, hey, you're Caroline. Like, I thought that was really cool too.
So, yeah. So thank you guys for that. It was great meeting all of you. And, you know, I'll be,
I'll be making it to the ballpark again, sooner rather than later. Like, I'm definitely not going to
let it be 19 years until the next time we see each other.
So don't worry about that.
I'll see you guys again very soon.
Coming out for the statue unveiling.
Boom.
Maybe not that soon because I think these three games at the end of the month in Toronto,
I think that's going to be more than enough of the 2026 Mariners for me, for my liking.
All right.
Well, that is going to do it for our show.
