Hey there everybody, welcome on in to a Day 2 recap show here at Locked On Patriots.
Mark Schofield back in the big chair for what is now Saturday morning, April 27th, 2019. As indicated, day two of the 2019 NFL Draft has drawn to a close.
I hope you get a chance to listen to some of the snippet shows that I did
breaking down the New England Patriots picks tonight.
We'll have a little bit more on those players at the end of the show.
What we're going to do, first segment, recap round two.
Second segment, recap round three.
And in the final segment, sort of set the stage for tomorrow,
what I'm hoping to see from the Patriots as they address what needs might remain
with the rest of their picks, as well as sort of a quick sort of recap snippet
on the players that were selected tonight.
Before we dive into any of that, though, your usual reminder to please
follow me on Twitter at Mark Schofield.
Check out the work
at places like insidethepylon.com pro football weekly the score matt waldman's rookie scouting
portfolio and yes the trio of sb nation websites including big blue view bleeding green nation
where i co-host the cuby sco show with the venerable Michael J. Kist and, of course, Pat's pulpit.
Let's dive into it now with what was a rather interesting second round.
We had a couple of trades and, of course, a big name moving on, finding a new home.
But we started at the top of the board.
We had sort of a run on defensive backs early.
The first pick overall in the second round, pick 33 overall, Brian Murphy,
the zone corner from Washington. He goes to Arizona. And then right after that, Indianapolis
selects Rakia Sin in the corner from Temple. And then the third pick in the second round,
Jacksonville, pick 35 overall. They draft Juwan Taylor, the offensive tackle from Florida.
A bit of a fall for him. He was expected, perhaps, to come off the board at 7 to Jacksonville.
So Jacksonville gets Josh Allen at 7, the edge from Kentucky.
And then they come back with Jawan Taylor, a player they might have taken at 7.
They get him at 35.
So that's a nice job we'll have to see about his knee and how that handles up.
Apparently it was a knee injury that might have caused him to slide.
San Francisco at 36.
They go get Debo Samuel, the wide receiver from South Carolina,
crushing some Patriots fans' dreams, mine included.
I love them down at Mobile.
He comes off the board early in the second.
Greg Little, offensive tackle to Carolina at 37.
The Panthers trade up to go get him.
Then Cody Ford, offensive lineman from Oklahoma.
He goes to the Bills at 38.
That's a nice pick for Buffalo.
I hate to say it.
AFC East teams are doing well. We're going to get to the Dolphins in a few minutes,
but that's a very nice pick for Buffalo. They get Ed Oliver in the first round and Cody Ford there.
Tampa Bay at 39. They draft Sean Bunton, the corner from Central Michigan. Nice pick from them. He was
a sneaky corner that I liked. I talked about him a bit. He made my top five.
And so I think that's a very nice pick for them.
Trayvon Mullen, the corner from Clemson.
He goes to Oakland at 40.
Lawn press type corner.
There's always a home for lawn press type corners in the National Football League.
Denver has picks at 41 and 42.
They get Dalton Risner from Kansas State.
We had talked about him as being an option for the Patriots at 32. Nice pick there. And then they get Drew Locke. They were rumored to draft him at
10. They get him at 42. Noah Fant, Dalton Risner, Drew Locke. That's a pretty nice one, two, three
set of picks from John Elway. So hats off to John Elway for that one. Now he hasn't had the best
track record so far with quarterbacks, but getting Locke at 42 when you were rumored to take him at 10 is a very nice job.
Then we get a bit of a shocker.
Johani Tavai, the linebacker from Hawaii, comes off the board at 43.
Interestingly enough, I heard through some hashtag sources
that the Patriots were going to consider him in the second round,
as were perhaps another team in the NFC East, the Philadelphia Eagles.
So Tavai, maybe we get more listeners to the show than I expected,
because he was potentially going to come off the board to two other teams,
the past two Super Bowl winners, perhaps in the second round.
And so the Lions, they go get Tavai.
Elgin Jenkins, the center from Mississippi State, to Green Bay at 44.
And then, as previously heard, or hopefully you listened to it,
Joe Juan Williams, the corner from Vanderbilt, goes to the Patriots at 45,
part of a trade up there.
The Patriots trade it up to get Joe Juan Williams.
They give up their pick at 56,
as well as one of their three third-round picks to go get the corner from Vanderbilt.
And as I said on the quick snippet show,
maybe he's the Kelsey racer.
That idea put in my head by John Lombaroccus
and David Archibald,
two of the venerable institutions
over at the Locked On Patriots Slack channel.
Grady Williams, he finally hears his name called at 46.
The corner from LSU goes to the Cleveland Browns.
Marquise Blair, the safety from Utah at Seattle at 47.
Eric McCoy, the center from Texas A&M at New Orleans at 48.
Ben Bangu to India at 49, the edge from TCU.
Irv Smith hears his name called at 50 to the Minnesota Vikings.
And this has breathed some new life into the rumors.
Perhaps Kyle Rudolph traded to the New England Patriots.
Albert Breer has been talking about that.
I've been talking to some Vikings people to cover the team.
And they say, look, you can't sustain paying Kyle Rudolph what they're paying him for the production they're getting from him. And so maybe that's another situation where they address tight end via a veteran.
With ASJ, the Ben Watson rumors are circling.
Now perhaps a Kyle Rudolph.
Maybe all the homework we did on tight ends would not be necessary.
Hashtag teaser.
Hashtag spoiler.
Hashtag listen to the rest of the show.
AJ Brown, wide receiver from Mississippi.
He comes off the board at 51 to Tennessee.
True sample.
Speaking of tight ends, the Washington tight end, earlier than expected,
at 52 to the Bengals.
Did not see that one coming.
That one was a bit of a surprise.
Miles Sanders, the running back from Penn State to Philly at 53,
so he gets to stay somewhat close to home, so to speak.
Houston, Lonnie Johnson, the corner from Kentucky,
and then they follow that with Max Sharpen, the tackle from Northern Illinois,
a paper I thought maybe New England would be in on.
He comes off the board at 56 overall.
May Cole Hardeman, off the board, the wide receiver from Georgia to Kansas City at 56.
You've got to wonder what that means about Tyreek Hill in that situation.
So they get a fast, speedy, shifty type player.
That might tell you what we need to know about how the Hill situation is going to end up in Kansas City.
Following that, Philly at 57.
JGI is taking a white side.
Wide receiver from Stanford.
Then Dallas, Tristan Hill, defensive tackle from Central Florida.
Indy again, Paris Campbell, wide receiver from the Ohio State University.
Let's put it out there.
The Colts have done some work.
Rakia Sin, and then Ben Banigou, and now Paris Campbell.
Three pretty decent players here in the second round.
So good job by them.
And speaking of good jobs, the Chargers at 60.
And Nasir Adderley, the safety from Delaware,
that gives you Derwin James and Cyr Adderley,
a pair of safeties that can be the cornerstones of your secondary
for the next five years at least.
I think those are a fantastic pair of skill sets.
James can play down in the box, versatile, athlete-type guy.
They've used him on blitzes.
Adderley more the cover- type guy, sideline to sideline
type player. That has potential, potential, potential, potential, potential, potential.
Again, I'm saying this has potential to be kind of like an Earl Thomas Cam Chancellor type situation
playing out. I'm just saying, again, potential. The Rams at 61, Taylor Rapp, the safety from
Washington, and then the trade that we
expected was going to come down today, and it finally comes. Andy Isabella comes off the board
at 62, not to the Miami Dolphins, but to the Arizona Cardinals. Yes, the Cardinals and the
Dolphins pull off the trade. Miami gets Josh Rosen and a fifth round pick.
The Cardinals get this pick at 62.
They'd use it to draft Andy Isabella,
which means out of last year's draft,
three quarterbacks taken in the top 10
of last year's draft
are now going to be going up
against Tom Brady in the AFC East.
Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, and Sam Darnold.
It's literally a full-on like old man versus the world situation in the afc east then juan thornhill the safety from uva he comes off the board to the
kansas city chiefs at 63 and then the new england patriots they're on the clock at 64, and what do they do?
They've got players like DK Metcalf, for example, staring him in the face.
Jalen Hurd, for example, staring him in the face.
Now, obviously, they probably want to go wide receiver,
but you've also got the Jake Sternbergers of the world.
You've got the Dax Raymonds of the world.
You've got the Zach Allens and the Chase Winoviches of the world.
You've got Will Greer staring at you in the face.
But what do the Patriots do?
As you probably know, they trade out.
They execute a trade with Seattle.
New England gives up the 64th pick, and they get in return picks at 77 and 118.
And the Seattle Seahawks take the aforementioned DK Metcalf. And so there you have it.
Coming into the night, the Patriots have two picks in the
second round, and they make one of them. They make one pick in the second round is probably a more
accurate way to put that. They trade up, they go get Joe Juan Williams, and then they trade out of
64 and acquire two later picks. So that's a look at round two. Up next, we will look at round three,
talk about what went down in the third round of
the 2019 NFL Draft.
And a little bit later, we're going to have sort of a resend of the board, talk about
what the Patriots have done through the first two days and what we hope they would address
or will address in the last day of the 2019 NFL Draft.
So that's what's going to come here on this now Saturday installment of Locked On Patriots.
Mark Schofield back with you now on this round two, round three, day two recap show of the Locked On Patriots podcast.
We just went through round two.
And in addition, all by now, all the snippet shows of each of the Patriots picks tonight have been posted.
So I will talk about those in a few minutes. But again, if you'd like to sort of revisit what the Patriots picks tonight have been posted. So I will talk about those in a few minutes.
But again, if you'd like to sort of revisit what the Patriots have done so far.
Again, take a look at some of those shows.
Breaking down Jawan Williams, Chase Winovich, Yannick Juice, Damian Harris.
Some of the Patriots players that were picked tonight.
Let's talk about the third round now.
Cut off to a bit of a local start.
Zach Allen coming off the board at 65 to the Arizona Cardinals,
a defensive end from BC.
Deontay Johnson, the Toledo wide receiver,
who the Patriots showed some interest in, had a visit with.
He comes off the board at 66 to the Steelers.
At 67, another player that the Patriots showed some interest in.
Jalen Hurd, the wide receiver from Baylor, the running back convert.
He was a player that many felt would be available on day three, but he comes off the board early showed some interest. And Jalen Hurd, the wide receiver from Baylor, the run-a-back convert,
he was a player that many felt would be available on day three,
but he comes off the board early to San Francisco. And with Debo Samuel, and now Jalen Hurd,
you add him to a roster that already had Dante Pettis from last year,
they got some weapons for Jimmy Garoppolo.
Nice little pick there.
Jahachi Ploy, the edge from Florida, comes off the board to the Jets at 68.
Josh Oliver, I know, we'll talk about the tight end thing in a bit,
but Josh Oliver, the tight end from San Jose State,
he comes off the board at 69.
Jacksonville, at 70, the Rams select Darrell Henderson,
the running back from Memphis.
Denver, at 71, Dremont Jones, a defensive tackle from The Ohio State University.
Jermaine Pratt, linebacker from NC State.
72 to the Bengals.
73. This was one of the Patriots' trades.
They trade out of 73 to get 87 and 162 plus a 20-24 from the Bears.
The Bears come up to get a running back, which did make some sense for them.
David Montgomery, the running back from Iowa State.
At 74, Buffalo, another running back, Devin Singletary
from Florida Atlantic. And at 75, those of you that were holding out hope for Jay Sternberger
catching seam route throws from Tom Brady, well, he is going to be catching seam route throws from
an elite quarterback, perhaps one of the best of all time, but it won't be Tom Brady. It's going
to be Aaron Rodgers. The Green Bay Packers get their tight end, Sternberger from Texas A&M.
Terry McLaurin, another player potentially linked to the Patriots.
He comes off the board at 76 to Washington.
They get a weapon for their new quarterback in Dwayne Haskins.
And at 77, the Patriots make a pick.
Chase Winovich, the edge from Michigan.
I loved this pick.
You heard it on the snippet show.
I talked about him at length.
Big, big, big fan of this selection.
I think he was an ideal Patriots-type player, and it's no surprise that they got him. I talked about him at length. Big, big, big fan of this selection. I think he was an ideal Patriots type player, and it's no surprise that they got him. I love getting him
at 77. Miami at 78. Michael Dieter, the guard from Wisconsin at 79. The Rams. David Long,
the corner from Michigan. This is a player that I talked about a lot on this show. I thought the
Patriots might show some interest in him, and maybe they did, but Juwan Williams, they got him
when they got him at 45. A player they were willing to draft at 32.
So there you go.
Cleveland at 80.
Shione Takataki, linebacker, BYU, at 81.
Detroit, Will Harris, safety from BC.
Another player I talked about.
We were seeing him in some mocks coming off late in day three.
He comes off the board here to 81.
Interestingly, again,
Patriots
or the Patriots light, the Detroit Lions.
Just throwing that out there.
Nate Davis, the guard from UNC
Charlotte at 82 to the
Tennessee Titans. Pittsburgh gets
their corner. Justin Lane, the
cornerback from Michigan State at 83.
Kansas City gets a running mate for Chris Jones. Colleen Saunders, the defense attacker for Western Lane, the cornerback for Michigan State at 83. Kansas City gets a running mate
for Chris Jones, Colleen Saunders,
the defense attacker for Western Illinois, the small school
kid that people just loved at the Senior
Bowl. Not surprised to
see him on day two. I was
picking him for the Patriots in this sort of range, and so I think
that's an ideal situation. Baltimore
gets an edge, Jalen Ferguson,
the edge from Louisiana Tech. Tremendous production,
shaky at
best agility drills but he comes off the board at 85 houston at 86 khali warren the tight end from
san diego state yet again another tight end i know we're gonna talk about it
then the patriots at 87 damian harris the running back from from Alabama. He was my RB3 and, again, my five-player rankings,
my five rankings, top five at each position.
You take it with a grain of salt.
I'm a quarterback guy.
But I liked him.
And we talked about him on the snippet show.
At 88, Cody Barton, a linebacker from Utah, goes to the Seattle Seahawks.
At 89, Bobby Okari, a linebacker from Stanford,
tremendously announced by the one and only Pat McAfee,
by the way.
Did a great job announcing that pick.
At 90, Dallas gets an offensive lineman,
Connor McGovern from Penn State.
At 91, the Chargers get an offensive lineman for them,
Trey Pipkin, the tackle from Sioux Falls.
And we had a bit of an offensive line run
because at 92, the Jets take Chuma Adoga,
offensive tackle from USC.
And then another dream, if the Patriots were potentially going to double dip
at wide receiver, it won't be Myles Boykin.
He goes off the board at 93 to Baltimore.
Baltimore gets Boykin and Hollywood Brown.
Not a bad double dip for them at the wide receiver spot.
Their wide receiver room was pretty bad, though, coming in.
Jamal Dean, the corner from Auburn at 94 to Tampa Bay at 95.
O'Shea Zemines.
I think I got that right.
Probably not, actually.
Old Dominion, the edge of Old Dominion.
I know he got some buzz.
And then at 96, the last tight end of the night,
Dawson Knox from Mississippi.
And I know we're going to get to the tight end thing in a minute.
But he comes off the board, as I said, at 96 to Buffalo.
They get their tight end.
At 97, again, the Patriots would have been on the clock, but they trade out.
They give up 97 and pick 162.
Yes, the fifth rounder that they got in that trade with Chicago.
Bill Belichick held on to that fifth rounder for, I think, 72 minutes, roughly.
They give it up, and they get 101 and 133 back from the Rams.
And the Rams come up, and they get Bobby Evans,
the tackle from Oklahoma, at 98.
Jacksonville, Quincy Williams, the linebacker from Murray State, at 99.
Tampa Bay, Mike Edwards, the safety from Kentucky, at 100.
Will Greer, quarterback, West Virginia,
goes to the Carolina Panthers.
I know some people were wondering why the Panthers taking a backup
with the third-round pick.
Newton still hurt.
Their backup situation with Taylor Haneke and Kyle Allen is no bueno.
It's no bueno.
And so I thought that they were going to need a quarterback in round three or four.
I think Tyree Jackson would have been a better fit for them.
Greer is a quarterback I have graded higher,
so they just went with the talent over the fit, I guess.
Makes sense.
Then at 101, Yannick Kajust, again, to the New England Patriots,
the offensive tackle, and to close out round three
and day two of the 2019 NFL Draft,
Alexander Madison, running back from Boise State,
to the Minnesota Vikings.
Picks that I liked, I like Hurd. That's an
interesting pick for San Francisco. They're certainly getting some weapons around. Jimmy
Garoppolo, again, with Debo and Dante Pettis from last year. Looking through the rest of these picks,
I think Green Bay got a nice tight end in Sternberger. I would have loved him. I think
he's perfect. I can imagine the seam routes they're going to be throwing. Rodgers to Sternberger,
I think that's ideal for them.
Michael Dieter, the guard from Wisconsin, I love him.
You look at what Miami has done so far in this draft.
They've made some smart moves.
It's a bit unsettling to see the Miami Dolphins making some smart decisions,
but they've done that so far.
Christian Wilkins, the trade for Rosen, and now Michael Dieter, a nice guard.
It's nice for them.
They've done some good work.
I'm kind of happy to see that from Brian Flores.
Colleen Saunders, the defensive
tackle for Kansas City.
I think that's a very good pick for them.
Working my way through the rest of these.
Myles Boykin is nice for Baltimore. Again, with
Holly Brown and him, I think that's a nice little
double dip at the wide receiver
spot. Evans for the Rams
I think is a nice selection for them.
I talked about Will Greer for a moment.
If they were going to go quarterback, I think they would.
Again, Trey Jackson was probably a better, Tyree Jackson, excuse me,
was probably a better scheme fit.
But with Greer being the higher graded player.
Oh, and Washington getting Terry McLaurin.
I think that's a very nice pick for them.
He can do some return stuff for them as well.
And Denver, Draymond Jones.
Again, John Elway seems to be having
a pretty, pretty good draft.
So that's a look at round three.
Up next, we're going to sort of reset things.
Expectations for Saturday,
what I hope to see the Patriots address,
positions of need, players that are left.
And Rip and Watch truly begins in earnest
on Saturday.
All ahead on this now Saturday morning edition of Locked on Patriots.
Mark Schofield back with you.
Now I'm going to close out this Day 2 recap show
here at Locked on Patriots talking Day 2 of the NFL Draft.
And let's start this way.
Let's start with some of the good players,
potentially great players that are still available.
First, my sort of top five by position.
Start on the defensive side of the ball.
Charles Omena, who from Texas, still out there.
I think he's a very, very versatile player with his length.
He can be on the edge with his explosiveness and athleticism.
He can be inside.
I'm surprised he's still available.
Wouldn't shock me to see him come off the board early tomorrow.
The linebacker spot, Blake Cashman and Drew Tranquil and Mack Wilson,
all still available.
Very curious to see where they end up.
At the cornerback spot, Savion Smith and Julian Love.
Those corners are still available.
You do get the sense, Dave Archibald mentioned this in the Locked On Patriots Slack channel,
it does seem like the NFL really just did not like this cornerback class.
Those guys slid a lot.
We saw one in the first round,
and so it does seem like the cornerback group,
not that much loved by the NFL.
The safety spot, Chauncey Garner-Johnson.
He's still on the board, as well as Deontay Thompson from Alabama.
Something must be going on with Chauncey Garner-Johnson.
Maybe it's tackling. That could be be it but he is still available on the offensive
side of the ball all the interior linemen I had are gone all the offensive tackles are gone
running backs Myles Gaskin he's still available tight end Dax Raymond is still available and a
quarterback yes Brett Rippon is still available. Rick Britton Watch is underway now.
At the X spot, Hakeem Butler is still available.
Some people had him wide receiver one, and he's still out there.
You can imagine the Patriots drafting Hakeem Butler and putting him with Harry.
Hmm, you know, just something to think about.
Also at the wide receiver spot, I had X.
That was Butler at Z.
Stanley Morgan is still out there.
And in the slot, Hunter Renfro, Greg Dorsch, and Penny Hart are still available.
Now look at the sort of best players available, at least how ESPN.com has them. They've got Ryan Finley out there.
Jared Stidham, Riley Ridley,
the wide receiver from Georgia.
There's Hakeem Butler, Travion Williams, the running back from Texas A&M,
Drew Samia, offensive guard from Oklahoma, DeAndre Walker,
the edge type player from Georgia, Michael Jordan, the guard from Ohio State.
Working our way through it, Armani Hooker, safety from Iowa. He was getting some day two buzz.
He's available.
Kelvin Harmon, man. My pick of him
at 32 is looking pretty
bad right now. Justice Hill, the
running back from Oklahoma State. Max Crosby,
the edge from Eastern Michigan. There's
Deontay Thompson there. Jalen Jenks,
another edge as well. Emmanuel Hall.
He's a player I thought might be
again on the Patriots radar.
He's still available.
Tavion Conley, Tavion Coney excuse me from
Notre Dame the inside linebacker he's still out there again Tyree Jackson Clayton Thorson's
quarterbacks are still out there as well Bryce Love the running back as far as the tight end
position let's talk about that for a minute because I do feel the consternation the tight
ends seem to be falling away from New England.
Like just tonight, for example, in that third round alone,
you had some tight ends that the Patriots might have liked to go.
Josh Oliver, Jay Sternberger, Kalee Warren, Dawson Knox, all gone.
And then in the second round, some tight ends that went.
Drew Sample, that was a bit of a surprise. And Irv Smith Jr.
And so the Patriots have not addressed tight end.
The best tight ends available, Farson Moreau from LSU.
Tommy Sweeney from Boston College.
Caden Smith from Stanford.
Tron Westcoe was an H-back type guy.
Kalen Wilson, Isaac Nauta, Dax Raymond, Alizi Mack.
Those are pretty much the draftable tight ends left, I'd say.
And so you do wonder if, at this point, the Patriots have decided that day three is good
for the tight end position and addressing the tight end position
because you've got Austin Safarian-Jakins, you've added him, Matt Lacoste, who they've added,
and maybe there is something to the Kyle Rudolph situation.
And so if they do bring Rudolph in or not,
you have Matt Lacoste and Austin Zafarian-Jakins as additions,
Jacob Hollister to go with Jacob Hollister,
Steven Anderson, Ryan Izzo, and Jacob Johnson as well,
who's another player that they added via Tennessee,
an international player that they added.
And so maybe they're looking at the tight end position as it's not the knee that we think it is.
There's got to be something else going on
because they had opportunities to draft a lot of these tight ends
and they didn't do it.
And so they probably feel that they don't need to do it
or at least it wasn't that big of a need for them.
Now, let's talk about what the Patriots have left,
what the Patriots have left in terms of picks. They have three picks in the fourth round. They have the 16th pick, the 31st pick,
and the 32nd pick in the fourth round, and then four picks in the seventh round, 25, 29, 32, 38.
Now, I fully expect them to just make one of those
fourth round picks.
Maybe two, but I expect them again to move back
into the fifth round and then
maybe somehow get up into the sixth.
They're not going to make
seven picks tomorrow.
And so,
what do I want them to address?
I still think they need to get a tight end.
I still think they need to get a tight end. I still think they need to get a defensive tackle.
I think a special teams linebacker type guy, maybe a Drew Twanquil,
might make some sense for them.
And the big matzo boss with a hand out there is quarterback.
And yes, yes, the Brett Rippon watch is underway.
But Ryan Finley and Clayton Thorson, I think,
are names to watch for the Patriots at the quarterback position.
I do think that those are names to keep in mind as we get into day three now.
I've heard that Clayton Thorson might be a guy that they would be interested in,
and so that wouldn't surprise me.
Ryan Finley wouldn't surprise me.
When you see how the draft is set to get underway,
it doesn't seem like the Miami situation is going to happen because Miami addressed quarterback.
Now you got Josh Rosen. And so you look at the teams that are picking now,
you've got Arizona, San Francisco, the Jets, the Raiders, the Bucs, the Giants,
the Raiders, the Bengals. Maybe they do it at 110 overall. The Lions, the Redskins won't do it again.
Baltimore, Seattle, I don't think they would do that. Carolina just addressed quarterback.
New Orleans isn't going to do it. Atlanta at 117. Maybe they do it in the new england at 118 you know there's a chance
that they go quarterback early maybe ryan finley at 118 would be the pick i don't know but it is
curious to see and so those are the things i'm going to be watching for do they address tight
end those are positions that i'm concerned about that i think they need to address those are some
of the names that i'm surprised are still available. It wouldn't surprise me to see Ryan Finley
come off the board
pretty quickly.
Very curious about
the Chauncey Gardner situation.
Julian Love,
the corner from Notre Dame,
surprised he's still on the board.
And so,
a lot of players
left to be picked.
A lot of stuff yet to happen.
As for the plans
for tomorrow,
it's going to be
a little bit of a
fly-by-ear,
play-by-ear
because I'm not quite sure
I'm going to be able
to stay married to be able to stay married
to the draft and stay married generally if I'm glued to the television and the big screen and
the podcast and apparatus, as it were, all day long. And this is Saturday. We've got baseball
practice. We've got swim practice. We might be doing some other stuff. And so I might have to
be out and about, but I'll at least get a round four through seven and day three recap show
to you tomorrow night and then we'll sort of have into next week sort of a recap show and start
recapping things and thinking about mini camps and things like that and then we'll take the foot off
the gas pedal a little bit but it's been a pleasure to be with you all night tonight done a number of
shows here for you hope you enjoyed them. Check them out if you haven't.
Breaking down all the picks
that the Patriots
made tonight.
Again,
just to recap
in case you've missed it.
Tonight,
the New England Patriots
draft Jumwan Williams,
the corner from Vanderbilt
in the second round.
And they make three picks
in the third.
Chase Winovich,
the edge from Michigan.
Damien Harris,
the running back from Alabama.
And Yanni Caduce
from West Virginia,
the offensive tackle.
So you've got four shows to listen to there as well as this one.
So I give you five pods tonight.
I should be getting paid overtime for this.
Instead, I'm going to go have a couple of adult beverages.
Either way, I will be back tomorrow.
Until next time, enjoy the rest of the draft.
Enjoy your weekends.
And do please keep it locked right here to me, Mark Schofield.
And Locked on Patriots.
