Are you actually serious?

Starting point is 00:00:54 The whole season, you just lose and lose and lose and lose, and the only time we want you to lose, you effing win? Are you kidding me? You thought you were getting kicked in the nuts all year? This is 10 million kicks to the nuts. Just one after the other after the other. There are no testicles left in New England. The Patriots kicked them all out.

Starting point is 00:01:20 Golly. Not even close. The most embarrassed I've ever been to be a Patriots fan, and it's not even close. This is as bad as losing the Super Bowl. This is the worst win in the history of the franchise. It's absolutely disgusting, man. You spit in your fans' faces all year,

Starting point is 00:01:44 and you just wanted to do it one last time. You couldn't have us have anything. You couldn't let us be happy for one goddamn day this whole season. You had to do that instead. What a joke. What a joke of a team, a joke of a franchise, a joke of a front office, a joke of a coaching staff, and a joke of a roster. And we are the clowns that sit here and watch it every week and think maybe, just maybe, this team will do something for us and just lose like you've done all season long. That's all you got to do is just lose, baby. No, you've got to go out there and win like a bunch of friggin morons you idiots everyone else knew what to do everyone else lost cleveland lost the giants lost tennessee lost

Starting point is 00:02:37 the raiders of course they're gonna lose you're gonna be picking it idiots. You have got to be kidding me. It's the worst win of maybe any team ever. Like, I don't even, I can't even believe it happened. I think I'm in a fever dream right now. They actually went out there and beat the Buffalo Bills. They took their one good player out after the first drive, and they won. What a joke.

Starting point is 00:03:15 You've got the building is like 40% full, 30% of that's Bills fans, and the only Patriots fans that bothered to show up with paper bags over their heads are sitting there pissed off while the Bills fans are cheering because they have obviously way surpassed the Patriots the last five years. And to just add insult to injury, they ruin your season, but really you ruin your season. Congrats. You won four games. Awesome. Boy, you really put something on tape. You proved us wrong.

Starting point is 00:03:50 Proved the whole league wrong. Absolute morons. I can't even believe they went out there and did that. What an F you. What a total middle finger to this fan base. It's bad enough they've been doing that for a couple years now. But now they've won three home games in two years. And one of them is the game that the entire fan base wants them to lose.

Starting point is 00:04:14 What a joke. What an absolute joke. I mean, would I still want to be the Jets? Probably not. But any other team in the league? Yeah. Know your place, Patriots. You want to say that about us? Know your place. Lose the frigging game. Absolute embarrassment of a win. It shouldn't even count. I can't even believe it. I'm sitting here at the end of this 17-week just slugfest.

Starting point is 00:04:48 Feels like I'm getting my ass kicked every week just watching this team. And at the end of that, you've got me on my knees in my living room begging for Mike White to lead a touchdown drive. They hate us. They hate us. They gave me the best childhood ever for a sports fan and then said, we're going to ruin your life as an adult. Oh, my God.

Starting point is 00:05:19 I just, how, like, how dare you go and do that, man? The Patriots win, but they really lose. It's the Locked On Sports Boston Patriots postcast. I guess we got to talk about this game and this franchise and what the hell they think they're doing. All you had to do was lose, and you held all the cards, all of them. Now you're going to drop down to four. And like, I know what some of you are going to say. They're not picking a quarterback.

Starting point is 00:05:55 So who cares if they pick it for, but you don't understand. Having the number one pick is transformational for the rest of your future. Because of course they weren't going to pick it number one pick is transformational for the rest of your future. Because of course they weren't going to pick at number one, but there were going to be three other teams that wanted to pick at number one that could mortgage their future to get that number one pick. You were going to be sitting on a gold mine, man. You didn't want the quarterback. You trade it to anybody. Trade it to the highest bidder. Who cares who it is? Get another top five pick. Get a first round pick next year for one of these dog ass teams.

Starting point is 00:06:30 It's going to be picking in the top 10. And now at four, you just pick it four. And that's it. And you saw the way they drafted last year under Elliot Wolfe. Boy, Javon Baker got his first catch this season. You drafted one contributor last year. And you need to blow this thing to smithereens. You need to A-bomb this franchise. And you went out there and you won so that we can get the fourth overall pick. You can't even lose right. You can't do anything right from top to bottom, from ownership down to equipment staff to probably the ushers at Gillette Stadium. You can't do anything right. What a joke of a franchise, an absolute joke. It's bad enough you just sucked.

Starting point is 00:07:26 Then you raise it to an art form, and then you just piss in all of our faces. What a joke. I cannot believe this team, man. All you do is lose for two years. You couldn't lose one more game. Like, we're laughing, dude. We're laughing at the Giants for winning a game for some reason last week. I just, I mean, these guys got to be laughing, just like laughing at your headstone, man.

Starting point is 00:08:02 The Raiders, the Titans, the Giants. We got a chance again. These idiots went out there and won. Why do you not want prosperity? Why do you not want nice things? I need a commercial break. I don't know what else to do here. Oh, man, I'm going to go through all five stages of grief

Starting point is 00:08:35 because I just cannot comprehend why the hell the Patriots just went out there and won a football game. I guess, I guess we will just try to make sense of it. Starting point is 00:10:38 The Patriots went out there and won. For some godforsaken reason, they went out there and won. For some godforsaken reason, they went out there and won. I think they were trying to maybe push it towards the tank after taking Drake May out of the game after the first drive. And they put in Joe Milton, who I've said for a couple of weeks, I wonder why Joe Milton hasn't been listed as the backup. And then after one drive, all I could think about was, please God, put Jacoby Brissett in the game. Someone realize the situation, read the room, and put Jacoby Brissett into the game so we can lose this thing and get on to rebuilding our franchise. Of course not. Why would they do that? Why would you want the number one pick in the draft? That's so stupid, Cam. That's really dumb.

Starting point is 00:11:27 And so Joe Milton goes out there, bazooka Joe, and goes and has a pretty good game. How can you blame the kid? He finally gets his opportunity and he goes out there and has a couple of touchdowns, throws one, runs for one, boy, he's running around that pocket, has another good one taken off the board. And you go out there and you win the game. Like I just, this is what the Bills were looking forward to after we just stuffed their face into the curb for 20 years. When Tom Brady was the winningest quarterback in that stadium, basically. This is what the Bills were waiting for, a game where they could just ruin it for us. And really, the Patriots ruined it for themselves.

Starting point is 00:12:15 Joe Milton goes 22 of 29 for 241 and a touchdown. Put something on tape. Good for him. I mean, it was a glorified preseason game with Buffalo having their number twos out there. But hey, Jacoby Brissett got traded after a great preseason game. Some called it the greatest preseason performance of all time. And it got you Dwayne Allen.

Starting point is 00:12:38 Maybe you can get something for Bazooka Joe. Oh, man. I just know Jelani Tavai is just laughing at all of us. He hates the fans. He spit in their face, told them to know their place, and now it was the ultimate spit in the face, kicking the balls, taking the air out of your tire, TPing your house. All of it put together, man. Everything unfortunate, they just did to you

Starting point is 00:13:14 so that you wouldn't get the number one overall pick. And now what? I mean, you draft whoever the best guy is at four, sure, but you're probably not even going to have the pick at the best quarterback, non-quarterback, I should say. You're probably not even going to have your pick of the best non-quarterback now at four. Just talk about a royal F up, man. I can't imagine anything worse today than the Patriots actually winning this game. They finally do something. They finally show some life defensively.

Starting point is 00:13:55 Just in the nick of time, they do it against Mitch Trubisky and Mike White. I'm just, I feel like I'm going to throw up. Like I genuinely feel like I'm going to throw up. I genuinely feel like I'm going to vomit. Who signed off on this? How are the owners not getting in the coach's room saying, man, let's just lose this thing? Guys, let's just be all on the same page here and just lose this thing?

Starting point is 00:14:26 I just, I can't. I just can't. Comments, puts the franchise back a few more years. Absolutely does. Absolutely does. Like the one thing you could have done to actually give this fan base some confidence in this franchise for the next year was to have the number one pick in the draft.

Starting point is 00:14:50 This was what this was all for. Like four weeks ago, we saw the writing on the wall and just said, hey, let's get top two. And then the Giants just put it in your hands last week. Here, number one pick, take it. Thank you, Drew Locke. And you just give it away. You just give it away.

Starting point is 00:15:11 I just, oh, I can't, man. I can't even. Lips McKenzie, great name. They can't even recognize when and how to benefit themselves. This could be Mayo's big F you to the Pats fans. I'm sure it is. It is. Hopefully it's the big F you out the door.

Starting point is 00:15:30 To me, this is a fireable offense to win this game. Fireable. Like, are you kidding? The whole world wants you to lose. And you went out there and you won. Come on. Come on. And again, let's revisit the quote from a couple of weeks ago about how the Patriots were going to stand pat with Gerard Mayo and this coaching staff, unless things went off the rails. As if like the trajectory of 3-14 was not off the rails, losing by 33 points at home to the Chargers

Starting point is 00:16:08 who went across the country during the Christmas week wasn't off the rails, then a win certainly is. This is off the rails. They are sabotaging the future of your franchise. This is absolutely off the rails. Vitalik makes a good point here. Kraft is so tone deaf that he's happy Mayo won this game. So he has an excuse to bring him back. Mayo is safe. I absolutely believe that. I 1000% believe that. And Kraft is going to go

Starting point is 00:16:44 down to that locker room where the players are celebrating and they're patting Mayo on the back. And Mayo's got that stupid frigging grin on his face as the clock winds down to zero because they won a game. And Kraft's going to be like, I really think there's something positive here for the future. It's all BS. There's nothing positive about this win. Not a damn thing. And he's going to be like, it's going to be the same line as it was after week one. Maybe this team isn't as bad as we all think it is. Maybe there are some guys to re-sign and keep on the roster. I say cut 51 guys. Keep Christian Gonzalez, keep Drake May, the rest of them are completely expendable. But you're right. Kraft is going to see this

Starting point is 00:17:34 as a positive when everyone else, including some players, will view this as a negative. It's what a joke. Your chance to win was a month ago. Don't drag us all into this now because you guys are fighting for your job. It's pathetic. Now you're just ruining it for everybody because you decided to win a game now. I just, I can't believe how dumb this is. I can't believe how dumb it is. A lot of fire mayos in the chat. Yes, yes. And it's unbelievable. Mike Vrabel wants to coach you. He wants to come back to this organization. He wants to take on this dumpster fire. He's interviewing with the Jets literally just to get you jealous. He wants to coach this team and you're going to run it back with these clowns.

Starting point is 00:18:26 Give me a break. Give me a break. You guys said the Patriots don't tank. I never said that. I never said that, but this is a great example. They suck at doing that too. They suck at winning football games. They suck at developing talent. They suck at identifying talent. They suck at winning football games. They suck at developing talent. I'm shocked we have gotten through 20 minutes of this live postcast without having an alert to my phone that Gerard Mayo has been fired. But alas, here we go. MTO, at least you get value in Joe Milton.

Starting point is 00:20:59 Maybe see if you can get a third rounder for him. That is maybe a hair of a positive thing you got today problem was you were like either way in these scenarios you were going to have some nice trade value joe milton's going to have some trade value after that and you know all his measurables and the front flip and all that but you know what had even better trade value the number one pick in the draft the number one pick in the draft. The number one pick in the draft. Brendan says, Cam, who do we draft? At this point, I don't know.

Starting point is 00:21:30 I was on the Travis Hunter train for sure, just because I thought he was going to be the best non-quarterback available. But right now it might be looking at what we were looking at at the beginning of the season, and that is tackle. Kelvin Banks is still rolling on for the Texas Longhorns, unfortunately. He's been battling an ankle injury. Will Campbell is the other top tackle prospect for LSU. It's not a great tackle draft. It's okay. That's why I was kind of hoping like, hey, you may as well just go with the best player available because it's not a great tackle draft.

Starting point is 00:22:06 And maybe you can get a left tackle with your second round pick and he'll be something. But it's bad. This is bad. Wave asked a pretty dumb question. Why did we draft May when we could have got Harrison? Because a good wide receiver gives you no use if you don't have a quarterback. Patriots didn't have a quarterback. And Drake May is the only bright spot of this offense.

Starting point is 00:22:29 So I don't know why this is becoming a Drake May issue. I think the issue should be with M-A-Y-O, not M-A-Y-E. Anyway, that was okay. That was interesting. Harrison says the flag behind you makes me feel less sympathy. I told you it gave me the greatest childhood for a sports fan ever. The Patriots did. It's just given me a pretty sucky adulthood.

Starting point is 00:22:56 A lot of why did you win? Why did you win? A lot of fire mayos. Even a higher Dave Aranda. I don't know if that's coming. Yeah, higher Vrabel. Couldn't, couldn't agree more, man. I, I just, Vrabel is like the perfect candidate in the sense of he is one in the NFL and he is not a retread. Okay. Mike McCarthy is a retread at this point.

Starting point is 00:23:20 Yeah. He's won a Superbowl and, and Mike Vrabel did not, but you know that Mike McCarthy has a pretty low ceiling. Mike Vrabel, 10 games over 500 with his one job. He took a team to the AFC championship game. He's actually coached a couple of different places. A major flaw with Gerard Mayo, who had never coached anywhere and therefore had no contacts of who to hire to his staff. And that's how you get to Marcus Covington and Alex Van Pelt as your coordinators. Yeah. I don't know. That took like five seconds of critical thinking and the crafts didn't do that. I am all for Mike Vrabel. I am all for Mike Vrabel. Jason says you are right. Thank you, Jason. I don't know what that was in reference to, but I'm right a lot of the time.

Starting point is 00:24:09 Adam says, fourth overall in a crap class means we basically have a nothing pick for a wasted season. It's right. He's right. Like, this is not a draft to write home about. Last year, you had three quarterbacks who were going to be, who projected to be big time NFL starters, plus a very good, very talented wide receiver in Marvin Harrison. You don't have that. You don't have that in this draft, man. You don't. And the Patriots are in a

Starting point is 00:24:41 situation where they need to upgrade every single position group except for quarterback, and they're going to pick at four. Len brings up a good point. Pick four is ass. No tackle is worth it, but maybe Abdul Carter from Penn State. That would be the other name I would think of alongside with Travis Hunter in terms of who's the best guy available. I don't think Travis Hunter is going to make it to four, even though the three teams ahead of you will probably be looking at quarterback.

Starting point is 00:25:09 I think one of them is going to say, you know what, whoever that third quarterback is after Cam Ward and Shador or whichever way you go, they're like, uh, you know what? I don't think I want, I don't even know who the third prospect is at quarterback, Carson Beck or Quinn Ewers or whatever. Obviously, they're not going to be picked that high. They're going to say, I'll rather just take Travis Hunter. And I don't think that's going to, the Patriots are going to have that shot at four. I'm seeing a lot of this, and I'll highlight Johans here.

Starting point is 00:25:41 Crafts should sell the team at this point. This has become a real mind wrestle for a lot of Patriots fans because I don't want to completely diminish what the Crafts have done. Obviously, they did kind of put their balls out there and trade for Bill Belichick. That was not a popular decision and it was the best decision the organization's probably ever made outside of drafting Tom Brady 199. But you guys want to be the ones that throw out the arguments of like Belichick can't do it without Brady. How about can the crafts do anything without Belichick? Because the last year has been a complete joke, an absolute joke. It's gone from do your job to know your place. And it's just, it's an embarrassing time to be a Patriots fan. Absolutely embarrassing time. And the crafts have egg all over their face, man. Maybe worse. It's just been a horrible, horrible stretch these last

Starting point is 00:26:50 two seasons. And after watching this team lose all season long, they spit in your face one last time and give you a win. I can't stand it.
