Starting point is 00:00:01 Hmm. Makes sense. Great morning world. Great morning humans. This is Dr. J.C. Dornick, aka. The Dragon. And welcome to another edition of the Makes Sense with Dr. J.C. Dornick podcast. This is accident prone. Somebody in our Make Sense Academy group was saying something the other day that I found really interesting. And they were just talking about how interesting and amazing it was to see the moon.
Starting point is 00:00:30 They were asking other people saying. Did you see the moon? I think her name was Lori. Some people said, yeah, I saw it. It was so beautiful. But then that got me thinking, because I like to think on the fly, just a moon really exists if we're not looking at it. I interviewed Donald Hoffman on my podcast one time,
Starting point is 00:00:45 and he's the guy that wrote this amazing book called A Case Against Reality. He poses that question. He's one of those guys that entertains the idea that the simulation hypothesis is real, that this is all just a game. And he challenges people, because the smartest people in the world, in regards to that, say, when you ask them, what are the odds that this is all just a simulation? And the smartest people in the world say there is less than a 1% chance that it's not. That's what they say. And Donald Hoffman says,
Starting point is 00:01:14 with regards to Lori's moon, he says, well, if you look up at the sky at night and you see that thing in the sky, that moon says you know it's there. But when you turn your head, can you prove that it's there? And the answer is no. So that's what I was thinking when Makes Sense Academy member Lori. So great morning everybody. This is accident prone and this is a really, really cool concept that just lends to what I find is the most fun part of the interface response system. And if you're hearing that word for the first time, you need to go back and listen to the whole podcast first because I go over the four steps of what I teach called the interface response system. But what I find so interesting about it is how as you evolve and become more aware and conscious, you start to notice certain things
Starting point is 00:02:01 more and more that make you go, hmm. And the other day, what I was journaling, the first thing that I wrote down very typically with my journaling, is I said, what I'm fascinated with this morning is entertaining whether or not being accident prone is a good thing or a bad thing. Like, is it 50% a good thing, 50% a bad thing? So this is accident prone. What if I told you that there is a reality? And just by me saying that, what if I told you that there was another reality?
Starting point is 00:02:31 other than the one that you claim is right now. But what if I told you there was another reality where being accident prone was a good thing and actually advantageous, something that you would actually want to work on having more of, accident prone was good and advantageous as something that could help you leverage your goals and your dreams. And as I've been saying lately, chew on that for a second, knowing that you can spit it out. But just entertain it. You know, one of the things that we always look to do is just say,
Starting point is 00:03:00 maybe? Why wouldn't you ever say maybe? Well, here's why, because you're afraid that what you know is wrong. So remember something. A large part of the work that we're doing here is just simply allowing ourselves, meaning giving ourselves permission to grow by remaining open and curious to allowing ourselves to look at things differently. Wayne Dyer always said is if you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change. If you really want to you. things to change and you're serious about that and you understand that would require you gaining a new perspective and vantage point. Well, here's one, right? So a large part of the work that we're doing is just simply allowing ourselves to grow by remaining open and curious
Starting point is 00:03:44 to allowing ourselves to look at things differently, knowing that this is the path that leverages the things that we look at changing. So you'd have to want the things that you look at to change, your life, your circumstance. Throughout our lives, we always recognize in the first part of our interface response system that we've been taught certain things. So it's natural that if you look at something like accident prone, you would look at it and say, oh God, my friend is accident prone. I used to call my son Jackson a bull and a china shop. Anytime he walked in the room, everything broke. Right? It was like, gush, gush. I remember when I was a kid, there was a commercial for some sort of maybe Merrill Lynch or something like that. And this bull would walk through a china shop and like not touch anything.
Starting point is 00:04:29 that's not my son Jackson. He breaks everything. So he was accident prone and it wasn't like a good thing, but I love my son. So maybe it isn't, right? So throughout our lives, beginning with our formative years, we're programmed to look at the act of having an accident as a negative thing. How could you look at, oh, I had an accident. I mean, I can tell you we have a puppy right now and he has an accident. It's not a good thing. We don't go, yay. Puppie had an accident. So we've been taught to think that having accidents is a negative thing. Something that we didn't mean to do. It wasn't intended. So by referring to the activity or perhaps something that you said is an accident, it actually helps other parties involved. Think about it. It's a way of getting off the hook. I didn't mean it. It was an accident. That's another aspect of
Starting point is 00:05:15 accidents. If you say something was an accident, it means you didn't mean it and it helps the other parties that are involved that were there. And it also helps your ego to excuse you. You didn't mean it. So going on further to say things like, hey, don't worry, accidents or shit happens. So we actually have to almost ask for forgiveness for what we have done. And we're almost saying like, forgive me for I knew not what I did. It was an accident. I didn't mean it. This happens in relationships and all sorts of things.
Starting point is 00:05:44 And you hope that you have someone that says, hey, shit happens, right? But sometimes people don't do that. They go, no, no, no, no. That is bad what you did. So we try to stay away from accidents. So therefore prompting the hopeful process of forgiveness, right? So I assume this is a major premise behind the forgiving of our sins, warning potential feather ruffler here, the potential of the origin of this idea that we get forgiven for
Starting point is 00:06:10 our sins in some houses of God, right? In fact, we often use this, you know, type of letting people off the hook in the IRS. When we're looking at the interface response system and we perceive that somebody's doing something, but they didn't know they were doing it because we look at it at a different vantage point. We say, hey, I'm detached from that. This is not about me. It's about them. So we have this game playing all the time. You know, the situation that recognizes that the person in question might have done something or said something unknowingly. We learn. It's a healthy thing to let them off the hook. So taking a good intention and masking it as something evil,
Starting point is 00:06:50 devious or hurtful is the other side of it. Sometimes you won't allow yourself. And remember, this is all about allowance, allowing yourself to look at things differently. Sometimes you won't allow yourself to consider, and this is what the interface response systems for, that maybe it wasn't devious and bad and things like that. So it's a choice. So taking a good intention and masking it as something evil is dangerous, you know, or hurt. So we say, forgive them for they know not what they do.
Starting point is 00:07:20 So the word accident is a lot more powerful than we think. So I gave it some attention. That's why I came up with this topic. Let's take a quick break to hear from our sponsor. The Make Sense podcast is sponsored by the Make Sense Academy, co-created by both myself, Mika, aka The Chicken and The Dragon. Do some good things happen by accident? Right now, as I say that, I say the best things do.
Starting point is 00:08:29 You know, what's interesting about life? Here's an interesting observation that you can carry with you today. Typically, we're taught to pick a goal or a destination and get it in our focal point and move towards it and only it. But isn't it true that most of the most magical things don't come from where we're looking. they come from, in 90-degree angles, they come from the surprise land. So isn't it true that accidents can be a good thing, right? How about meeting the love of your life?
Starting point is 00:08:59 I met my wife by accident. Was it an accident? I don't know, because there's a whole other conversation there, but I didn't mean to. It was a mistake. Oh, I'm so sorry for meeting you. I didn't mean to. Or a great opportunity that falls out of the sky into place. So now think about that right there.
Starting point is 00:09:17 would you like an amazing extraordinary opportunity that you might not be thinking about right now to fall out of the sky into your lap right now? I would. Starting to understand this idea of being accident prone is a good thing. So as if the God, you know, God in the universe was offering us a gift, which I think everybody would love, or answer to our prayers. Sometimes when we pray and hope for things, we're not very distinct in what we're asking for. We say things like, I want to be happier, healthier, and wealthier. We're kind of open to it showing up in any way. As long as something comes down and makes me happier, I'll say, thank you, God.
Starting point is 00:09:56 In fact, in one sense, I find that people actually are praying for accidents. Now, that's a different way of looking at things. If you're not open to looking at things differently, you hear me say, people are praying for accidents and people say, okay, I'm out of here now. This guy's lost his mind. But remember, the whole idea here is, let's look at it in a different way. Maybe it'll be helpful. People are praying for accidents to happen, meaning they're praying for these synchronistic
Starting point is 00:10:24 things, this streak of luck. They're praying that those things are going to happen more often. These consistent actions and hard work done in their lives are really now looked at as leveraging the odds of accidents happening. But we're looking at accidents differently now. In the spiritual teachings, this is a profound concept as they say that the process of awakening to your true nature and true self, meaning not the mask that you're wearing, not the ego version of your nature.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Your true nature and true self often happens by accident. If you're in the process of seeking enlightenment or seeking your purpose and all of that stuff, wouldn't you agree in this moment right now, when it has to be? happens. It never really happens the way you thought it was going to be. It's always different by accident. I tell my story in my book of this event that I call the Thunderbolt, where I woke up in the middle of the night and out of nowhere was guided from that day forward to start this process of doing mission work that led me to Haiti and the Dominican Republic and St. Vincent and all over the world building orphanages and taking care of hundreds of thousands of people and just
Starting point is 00:11:41 taking 1,000 doctors through, you know, just all of these events for 15 years. When I went to sleep that night, I just went to sleep hoping I would wake up and run my regularly scheduled program. But that's not what happened. It was a big accident. I apologize for all that stuff. I didn't mean it. But the process of awakening to your true self and this powerful impact this has in your life experience is where I'd like to focus today. That's what I want you guys to know about today. It's this powerful shift where we recognize that we are in fact not our body, not our ego version of who we think we are. We're not our body and we become aware that at the core, we are things like awareness itself. Here's an interesting thing to consider.
Starting point is 00:12:27 If you feel that you have the ability to be conscious and aware right now, I want you to ask yourself, who is doing the awareness? Where inside of you is awareness coming from? that's going to be a challenging thing to think about. I'm going to do another rise-up that ask another question. Does the universe know that it exists? So think about it. Can you put your finger on who is aware? Is it you?
Starting point is 00:12:56 Or is it something else? Because if you think it's you, I'll say, well, who is aware of you? You can't keep going with the you thing. So awareness itself, consciousness and love, right? light, that's what we are at our true source. Can't really define it, but that's what it is. Then you can see that the practice of things like yoga, meditation, and breath work, things like that, those are practices that are leveraging us to become more aware, but also more
Starting point is 00:13:26 accident prone. That's a fun concept to look at all of this work that we do, to shed our body and our ego and just come to this natural place where we can just, from a, a pure, unpersuaded, unattached, no perception, I mean, no perspective, look at things just to see what they actually look like. Another way of looking at that is like I'm trying to leverage the odds of these miraculous things to happen in my life by accident. So I'm working on becoming accident prone. Now, I have to be careful because if I tell everybody that they're going to probably stop hanging out with me, that I'm actually working on being accident prone,
Starting point is 00:14:06 Meaning more apt to experience those amazing magical breakthroughs and synchronicities by accident. Who wouldn't want that? In this space right now, would you like more of those accidents to happen? Would anybody say that they do not want any magical miracles to occur in their life? Say, you all want to be accident prone. I get it. My observation and through many years of doing this work with consciousness in this arena is that accidents begin to happen more as a result of me becoming more conscious and more prone to notice them.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Whenever I meet somebody and they tell me this miraculous story of something that happened, that transpired, they tell it to me as if it's like so miraculous because it never happens. I would challenge everybody to consider the fact that those things are actually happening all the time. You just didn't notice them. So the idea of working on yourself with meditation and seeking more consciousness and enlightenment and things like that. Another way of looking at that is you're really just becoming more aware of things that already are in the space. And for those that know about the work that I've done with plant medicine, that's all that really did for me is it showed me that these things that I think are somewhere else are always there. I just can't see them sometimes. I'm working
Starting point is 00:15:29 on being more accident prone, so I see more things by accident. That's the idea that I was just giggling about. In fact, I've become to believe that all of those things are happening all the time. And I was just not yet operating with a high enough frequency and clarity to be aware of them. Make sense? People in our Make sense academy, I don't know what they think about themselves, but I can promise you that they're seeing more things that people that are not working on themselves. Whether it's a good thing or a bad thing. somebody that's working on themselves physically, mentally, consciously, stripping away the aspects of them
Starting point is 00:16:07 like Michelangelo with chiseling David. He says, I was, how did you create David? He goes, I chipped away everything that wasn't him. And he ended up with David. People are doing that work. They're seeing a lot more stuff that they think is normal, but other people don't think it's normal. So when you meet someone and you just get frustrated with them that they just can't see logic, Now you know why. It's not their fault. They just don't have the glasses with no lenses on yet. So I've come to believe that these things are happening all the time
Starting point is 00:16:37 and we just haven't upgraded to this. So will you join me in the next few years and few days, right, in months, and practice with intention the idea of becoming more accident-prone? So have a great day. Love and appreciate you. And I'll see you next time. You know, Thank you.
