Starting point is 00:00:00 If you want to pump your body and expand your mind, there's only one place to go. Mind, hop, mind, hop with your hosts. Salda Stefano, Adam Schaefer, and Justin Andrews. In this episode of Mind Pump. Oh, man. Oh, man. We actually let Taylor steer the Mind Pump vehicle. Yeah, totally random episode.
Starting point is 00:00:24 We actually, if you guys don't like it, make sure you find him on Instagram. Yeah, it's all Taylor's. Tell him what an idiot he is. Yeah, so we just answered, we didn't answer anything. Actually, we just commented on some current events. Apparently Harvey Weinstein is a douchebag. Yeah, there's a new Star Wars trailer out.
Starting point is 00:00:41 Which is awesome. President Trump challenges Rex Tillerson to an IQ test. Yeah. Costco launches grocery delivery services to compete with Amazon. Those are the current events we talk about, but we also do a lot of bullshitting in between. And we actually mention, on accident, one of our sponsors, one of our favorite sponsors ever, the right market. It totally was on accident. Let's talk about macadamian nuts, talked about our favorite sponsors ever. On accident. Thrive market. It totally wasn't accident.
Starting point is 00:01:05 Let's talk about macadamie nuts. Talked about they probably have the one that want. They probably won't like the commercial, but hey, you know what, it's real. Whatever man, keep it real. Can you name the conversations? You guys wanted organic, this was organic. This is about as crutch your game.
Starting point is 00:01:17 So we do mention Thrive market. We love their products. They sell all non-GMO products and most of the products are organic. Don't be late to the party. Super. Don't be that guy a girl who just found out about Costco. You know, it's like, yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:31 Super. It could have been saving money. Super time. Super good prices. If you go to thrivemarket.com, forward slash Mind Pump, you'll get some freebies. I think you get a month for free, first of all. A month for free, you get $20 off your first three orders
Starting point is 00:01:45 that are over $49 and free shipping. All that stuff. So basically you get a free membership and you get to buy stuff for like 25% to 50% off where you would find it in the grocery stores. Also in this episode, we talked a little bit about fitness and I did wanna mention one of our bundles I've been talking about recently
Starting point is 00:02:04 is our build your butt bundle. We still get people messaging us all the time, saying things like, where did Justin get those cakes? He's saying. He's got them, he's got bundles. He's got them, he's got bundles. Now they talk about how they do barbell squats, or I do lunges, I do deadlifts, I do hip thrust,
Starting point is 00:02:21 I do all these exercises, and my butt still won't respond like the rest of my body. A lot of these are women, a lot of them are talking about being quad dominant, like my quad's really get big when I do squats, but my butt doesn't get big and round, like what's going on? And really the problem can be boiled down to one thing. Your recruitment pattern isn't ideal and you're just not firing your glutes as effectively as you could.
Starting point is 00:02:45 Now keep in mind muscles are only as good as the signal that you send them. Okay, that's the bottom line. If you're not sending them an effective signal, you're not going to get much out of the exercises that you're doing. So what we've done is we've taken MAPS and Ebola and MAPS aesthetic. Those are both our probably most effective muscle building programs with your maps and a ball being your more foundational one and aesthetic being more geared towards your competitors. We've combined the two and then we've included a modification specifically designed to teach you how to get your glutes to fire better. So there's new exercises and new techniques in
Starting point is 00:03:22 there. Once you do them, what's going to happen you're gonna go do your squats and your deadlifts and your lunges with your expert programming, but you're gonna all of a sudden feel your glutes work. They're gonna respond. Like never before, they're going to build. So if this is an area of focus of yours and you want programs surrounding that, the build your butt bundle is the way to go.
Starting point is 00:03:43 You can find this at minpumpmedia.com. I'm gonna sage this in here. That's not sage, remember? That's mage. It's mage, right within him. It's sage for men. Sage. It sounds like a shampoo or something.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Yeah. Sage for men. Sage for men. You know what's funny? It's manly now, because we said so. Think about that for a second. What feminine, what product that's typically advertised to women, could you repurpose and sell to men?
Starting point is 00:04:11 Dush. And, duh. Duh. Imagine, duh for men. Yeah. Male douche. So, duh for men? They have duh for men.
Starting point is 00:04:19 It's literally called duh for men. Does men buy it? That's weird in you. Yeah, that was pH balanced for men. Do men buy it? That was weird English. Yeah, that was pH balanced for men. Do men buy it? Yeah, no, I think I have some dev for men. Hold on a second. It used to just be for women. But hold on. I thought it was just a neutral product. Did you buy it though? No, I didn't. Okay, so it's actually, dev for men is advertised to women who are buying for the men. Probably, yeah. No, I, we'll probably the strategy there.
Starting point is 00:04:46 It's a smart one, don't you think? Women control everything. They buy everything. Well, they are the consumers, right? They are. Yeah, most women are the ones buying. Smart businesses know that. They said, how does it work in your guys' house?
Starting point is 00:04:57 Does your wives and girlfriends do most of the shopping and handling the bill stuff? Like, who does that at home? Yeah. We go back and forth. I really like shopping, not for like clothes and stuff like I hate that. I like grocery shopping. I don't hate grocery shopping.
Starting point is 00:05:16 I don't miss Costco. Katrina and I typically go grocery shopping together. It's rare that she goes by herself. So I like shopping too. I, you know what, for me me, my attitude on that's changed. I used to not like it, but now that I care about being active and moving and I realize what a difference that makes. So you look at it as an opportunity to like, just to cardio, to move, to move my body that otherwise I'd probably be sedentary at home sitting down
Starting point is 00:05:45 You know, I've transferred step have you seen that video with the lady prancing. It's like a fitness craze. No Prancing is the next fitness craze. Yeah, I we didn't see that you see that off the post. It's amazing Prancer size. We're pretty good at predicting things like the new Zumba is that what it is? Honestly, it's just a video. I don't think it's a thing Oh, they want it to be a thing. You're trying to make it a thing. I was gonna say they have to rename it, because I'm not doing anything called prancing.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Transorcise. It just doesn't sound. What does Zumba mean? Come on. It's, I think they're trying to make it sound Latin. Really? And cool and English. So they made that word up.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Zumba sounds like that. Zumba's made up, dude. There's no way Zumba was for something. I don't know what it is. Let me look.. Zumba's made up, dude. There's no, there's no way to steal that for something. I don't know what it is. Let me look. I'm going to look it up right now. It's like the Roomba with a Z. Yeah. It's like if we made up a word for lifting weights, like a class for lifting weights, but what would we call it to make it appealing? Yeah. You know what I mean? Like a poms. A brand name for a fitness program consisting of dance and aerobic exercise
Starting point is 00:06:44 routines for former holder mainly Latin American music. Yeah, I told you. It's not, there's nothing, there's your pants or something. Oh, yeah, pants or something. See, here we go. Oh, I've seen this before. Yeah, it's older.
Starting point is 00:06:57 Four hundred thousand views. Well, because it's ridiculous, dude. Yeah, it is. It's silly as hell. Yeah, so she, I've seen this. She does push play, Doug. She dances. And she looks kind of weird.
Starting point is 00:07:10 It, that's the fun of it. She's a little bit. Yeah, fast forward, Doug, to the just the middle somewhere. So we can see what's going on. You're just gonna see. There it is. Oh, that's the move. That's the move.
Starting point is 00:07:19 That's what I see Adam doing in the grocery store. Her fits put together right there. Boom. Oh, yeah. I do do that. So, for all the king, that's what I say, that's for all the king. That's a hybrid, for all the king.
Starting point is 00:07:30 And, prance, I mean, I see what she's going. Maybe we could do a video like that where we're doing that. I would totally do that. I feel like this is a style of dancing that I can do. Is she older? We should all do that just down the street. How old is she?
Starting point is 00:07:44 She looks like she's in her 40s. No, she's older than that, dude. 50s? I would even say 60, man. I feel like this video is old though. She's a old, and then it just got resurfaced. It's great. People started showing.
Starting point is 00:07:56 Oh, shit, an ankle weights on. Oh, yeah, dude. She's like 60s. And resistance. Watch out. Prancer size. Yeah. Yeah, we need to come up with a workout class
Starting point is 00:08:06 of some type or trend, of some type. Hey, was Taylor gonna come in here and ask us some stuff? What was the deal with it? No, he's not doing it because he's gonna be on a phone call. But Doug has the question. The Douglas. Oh, Doug's got handed off. Yeah, because what is it?
Starting point is 00:08:20 It's trending stuff right now. So it's basically trending topics on Vox. Is that the name of the site? Vice. What's Vox? I don't know if that's another site. Is it Vox? It's like a,
Starting point is 00:08:32 it's like an app for guitar. Please God, don't let it be something horrible. All I can say is Taylor handed me a sheet of paper with some things on it. That's not comfortable. That's like I do not approve of this message. I'm not attached to this. In other words, don't shoot the messenger.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Oh wow. Oh wow, they're like that. Oh, you know what? Let's Taylor do it. What's Vox? Vox is a new site, thank God. So that's Vox dude. No, Vox.
Starting point is 00:08:57 Oh, did I tell you guys what I ate yesterday, by the way? That's delicious that I just found. That's amazing. What? Macadamian nuts that are flavored like, like Maui onion flavor and then they have barbecue flavor. Wow. Macadamian nuts. What? Yes.
Starting point is 00:09:15 Yes, they actually killed you get that. At the, at a, at a, did it defeat the purpose of your foods? And now, now I'm gonna buy it to thrive market because everything's cheaper there. Yeah. But I got it at Whole Foods. Do they have? Do they have the flavor to thrive? I'm gonna look it up Thrive Market because everything's cheaper there, but I got it a whole foods Do they have do they have the flavor to make a thrive? I'm gonna look it up on Thrive Market hope so calm
Starting point is 00:09:29 I'm gonna look it up That was a lot of freebie. We'll get an email from Thrive Market for that one wait a second This is not in the contract listen guys. You're up for rails. This is not in the contract This is a freebie I literally was not totally organic. This is not a truck. This is a freebie-threat market. Yeah. I literally was not. Totally organic. I was not planning on mentioning you. This is not a sponsored episode.
Starting point is 00:09:49 No. It literally what happened yesterday is I bought Maui onion flavored macadamianettes because I made the mistake of going to the grocery store while hungry, which always results in me buying random shit. Yes, snacky. And but I bought, I was gonna get macadamia nuts and there's only one brand of macadamia nut that I like.
Starting point is 00:10:07 The blue ones. Yeah, the Maui whatever brand, right? I'm with you on that one. It's the only one that's good, the rest of the crap and whole food. The Costco ones almost as good. Costco gets it from them. Oh, makes a lot of sense.
Starting point is 00:10:18 The Kirkland brand always does that. Yeah, right. Kirkland's so smart. So smart, who is that guy? Uh-huh. Who is that guy? I don't know. Kirkland's this guy. Kirkland fellow. It's Kirkland so smart. So smart. Who is that guy? Uh huh? Who is that guy? I don't know. Kirkland is this current fellow. His Kirkland guy is a smart guy. Kirkland is a city in Washington. Well, that just will find no at all. Cities can't buy nuts. Doug can't ever speculate.
Starting point is 00:10:35 He's your words. Yeah. Doug's the cities don't buy nuts. Doug Doug. Doug's Google says. He's that kid in class like raising his hand. I know. Yeah, I know, I know. Come on guys. Oh my God, speaking of which, funniest moment of the entire trip at the Spartan race, the funniest moment ever. We're sitting at the dinner table. It was that VIP dinner. Yeah, yeah. And we're all gonna eat whatever.
Starting point is 00:10:56 And then the speaker, like asks the audience a question, and we were sitting with Josh Trent from Wellesville. One of our good buddies, who I love, we love him. We all love him. one of our good buddies. We love we love him We all love one of our favorite. Oh, yeah, that are table come on He's at our table right next and he like blurt out the answer like really the answer's blood a lot in front of the whole group And then just that afterwards goes I know things real loud Such a dick what a dick move for the whole crowd and he's my friend He's right next to me. I know things and and the worst part was the whole crowd and he's my friend. He's right next to me I know things and the worst part was the whole crowd. I couldn't help it, dude
Starting point is 00:11:28 I couldn't know like our natural eyes first. Yeah, yeah, that's right Yeah, I said kiss ass and then I followed it up right away. No you went first. No, it was Yeah, yeah, he said I say kiss ass first That's right. Just was like right at right right on cube right now I got it in here and then you said it and it just triggered it was like it's Tourette Yeah, I'm out to do I have like a mild form of it. It was so funny. Josh got I think it for a second got a little bit like you mother Like a little friend. I remember who he was with then he's like, oh yeah you guys so I just rubbed his back a little bit
Starting point is 00:11:58 Yeah, we're still cool, right? Yeah, that was just natural. Yeah's what DeFersure took me back to like high school stuff. I was that guy for sure that was some kiss ass would say some shit. I'd be the first one to. Oh, yeah, obviously me too. They would have been followed up with a paper clip in the back of his head. No, you get such bros. I'm not.
Starting point is 00:12:17 You're grown bullies. Yeah, but at the same time too, I'm sure. Actually, Professor, I would hang out with them too. And I'm saying so I would have made fun of them. It's just like me, it's just mad. I mean, then we'd be hanging out together. It's just like me. I work with you guys hanging out with me.
Starting point is 00:12:29 I feel like there's bullying me. I feel like you're allowed to do that when I type that. I think mean bullying is a brotherly thing. You just pick on somebody just to be an asshole. That's mean, but there's a brotherly way to do it. You know, that's the truth though. How guys tend to bond is we tend to fuck with each other. It's just what guys do.
Starting point is 00:12:45 Yeah. And you don't see women doing this as much as men. I think they get offended, like if a woman talks shit to her friend, you know what I mean? Like, you look fat today, like they'd be pissed off. But like if Adam said that to me, I would be so happy to be here. Not happy because I like the comment,
Starting point is 00:13:02 because I still think it's an asshole. I would think it's hilarious Totally, oh you just call me Fuck you, that is funny how that would then you do the truffle shuffle and then we all laugh Doug let's hear that let's hear what Taylor gave us read the first question start with one. Let's see how we can Now see how this works out. Okay, so the New Yorker reports that Harvey Weinstein Raped three women. Oh, shit.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Oh my God. Yeah, we're starting out today. We're coming out today. Taylor. So the ex-spice report comes just days after a bombshell New York Times report that Weinstein had paid out settlements to at least eight women over allegations of sexual misconduct. So who is that? I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:13:43 Harvey Weinstein is an American film producer. Oh, wow. And so he got he got in trouble for for sure for raping three women. Well, it's it's it. They're they're accusing him, right? He hasn't gone to trial or anything like that. But check this out. I just Googled his name, Harvey Weinstein, Gwyneth Paltrow, Angelina Jolie and others say that he harassed them. Oh wow. Oh wow. He's a movie producer? Yes.
Starting point is 00:14:12 Big one. I mean, this guy is huge. Wow. Well, it's a pulp fiction clerks, the crying game, sexualized and videotapes. Oh, it's the other one too. So Angelina Jolie,
Starting point is 00:14:22 this is a quote from her, I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth And as a result chose to never work with him again and warm warn others when they did Wow There's other actresses saying shit. How does something like that stay underground for this one? Oh bro, it's Hollywood. It's fucking Hollywood. What are you gonna go into that? Yeah, but I mean that's like Yeah, pedophilia and all these rings and all my gags. What are you talking about?
Starting point is 00:14:47 Oh, bro, it's Hollywood. If you're a thing by this way, if you're a young actor or actress and you're trying to make it big and this shit happens is like, if you say something you're done, your career is done. So I did it a girl that was,
Starting point is 00:15:03 you know, inspired to be famous, right? Like she was, she just wanted to be in so bad, like whether it be a music video or playboy or any movie acting shit, like she was just open to do whatever. And I do remember like talking to her a lot about like, you know, she would, you would go to do these like photo
Starting point is 00:15:22 and photo shoots, like a lot of these guys they offer You know, oh yeah, I'll do yeah, I'll shoot your photos for free and so with that and then they're like Convincing them to get less and less clothes less and less clothes and the girls get all excited because they're a well-known photographer or a well-known producer and they're convincing to do this, you know Potential video that may not even get played or like that. And what they do is they prey on these girls, and I'm sure it happens to guys too, but it's probably more common with girls.
Starting point is 00:15:51 It happens to guys too. Yeah, I'm sure it does, right? But it's probably more common with women and because there's a lot of these guys, producers, videographers, photographers, that, you know, prey on these young girls that just want to be famous so bad. It's really, really sad.
Starting point is 00:16:07 And they're always the ones that have the daddy issues and stuff and then they come in and they're like, hey, you know, you don't feel secure with yourself. You know what I mean? With who you are yourself. I had something, so I had something kind of happen, like that happened to me. Somebody try to take advantage of you.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Really? You just don't tell you? Yeah, no, so I forgot all about it. Wow. It wasn't like that bad. Did you go all the way? No, no, no, no. Just finger.
Starting point is 00:16:33 How far you... God, yeah. Sorry. So bad. I can't help it. No, I, so you're... Dressed, dude, dressed. So you guys know those, see, I don't want to bring it up
Starting point is 00:16:43 because now everybody's gonna look it up and it's online. Oh wow. So you guys remember those see I don't want to bring it up because everybody's gonna look it up and it's online. Oh wow So you guys remember you guys remember those like Glabbershot that I did a while ago That the formal post every once in a while that are hilarious. Yes. Yeah, my favorite Yeah, so they're like shirtless and whatever there was a photographer friend who Want to do pictures she offered to do them of me so she took them and I thought it was cool And I'm like cool. I'll save these so I can, you know, show my grandkids one day, which I aren't ironically now, I hope my grandkids never see any of these pictures. But anyway,
Starting point is 00:17:12 so we took these pictures and she said, do you mind if I use your pictures to advertise my, you know, my business, what I've said, and no problem. So I got a contact from a photographer who saw my pictures and he's like, hey, listen, I like to shoot for athletic modeling and stuff like that. He goes, I like your look, I like your build. I want you to come down. I like the your build.
Starting point is 00:17:35 So he goes, I want you to come down and I want to shoot you with some other models. And so I'm like, oh, that's cool. I'm like, fuck, this is kind of cool. Maybe I'll make some money doing some of this. This is fine, whatever. I'm like, fuck, this is kind of cool. Like, you know, maybe I'll make some money doing something so this is fine, whatever. So I said, well, what is it in tail? Is it like, you go, no, it'll be,
Starting point is 00:17:51 it'll be tasteful. So I said, okay, that sounds cool. And I said, let me know when so that I can have my, just as I was married at the time, I'll say, my wife, so I can, my wife can come down because it's really cool. And he goes, no, you can't bring her. I'm like, what?
Starting point is 00:18:04 And he goes, it's just gonna be at me, you, and, what? And he goes, it's just gonna be me, you, and a bunch of other dudes, and we're just gonna be having fun taking pictures and stuff, and we don't need other people, and I got this really fucking creepy vibe from this dude. He's like, you don't need to bring her, she'll get in the middle of it. No, no, no, no.
Starting point is 00:18:17 It's just a bunch of guys horseing around. He started using a flamethrower. Yeah, we're gonna wrestle a little bit. He started using words like that. She would like that. Like, horsing around. Yeah, horsing around at pillow fights. Yeah, just some friendly pillow fights. Just fancy pants like forcing around. Yeah, forcing you around a pillow fights Yeah, just a friendly chill of practicing
Starting point is 00:18:27 Yeah, like yeah, and so I didn't wear a ball game. So I just got this like I got just total creepy vibe I could have in now on swings now I was super desperate and that was like my career of choice. I might have been like Let's just see what it is like. What's he talking about showed up and then you are in this now in this environment We're with all this pressure. You actually went? No. So I had the same thing happen to me when I was fuck, I was only like 23 or so and at that
Starting point is 00:18:52 time it was like a really popular thing for these companies to come in and pray on male trainers. Oh my god. And I know exactly what you're talking about. Oh yeah, so I got, so I, and it was, I don't even know how they got my phone number. They called me up one day, and I totally vividly remember that sitting out on the curb in front of the gym,
Starting point is 00:19:14 like, like, talk to this guy. I was like, well, this dude's gonna, they're gonna pay me, right? They calls me up and he's, he says, hey, you know, I just wanted to tell, and he just kind of gave his background real quick, you know, I work, I don't even remember the company name or whatever. And he's like, you know, I work, I don't even remember the company name or whatever. And he's like, you know, I'm a photographer them.
Starting point is 00:19:27 I'm always searching for talent. You know, we like to look in gyms and find, you know, guys that are fit, this and that. And we're shooting this calendar, this coming weekend. And I'm already like savvy to like some of this stuff already. So I'm just like, okay, I know how this works. You want me to do this? Then you want me to pay $800 to get my photos done and have all this professional stuff. Meanwhile, nothing ever happens.
Starting point is 00:19:48 I just spend $800 on getting professional photos. I'm thinking to myself, that's what's coming next. And I'm like, oh, you know, I'm not really interested in that. I've got trainer buddies that have done this before where they spend a bunch of money trying to put a portfolio together to become a model. That's the hustle. Yeah, and I'm like telling them basically,
Starting point is 00:20:05 if Calvin Klein really wants me, they'll come find me, right? So I don't think that I've got the modeling thing, right? And he's like, no, no, actually this is, for sure, gig we already seen you and we think that you fit the description perfectly and it's a two day shoot. It's out, it was gonna be out in Santa Cruz area
Starting point is 00:20:22 and paid like three or $5, dollars and I was like, oh shit Okay, now you got my attention like now I'm listening like okay, and he's asking questions about my person He's got me on the phone for almost an hour because now that I know that I have potentially get paid three grand five grand Just a photo shoot. I'm gonna be in a calendar. No, I'm gonna like oh this is cool. Is it really you in? Oh totally willing me in you know Well, you know, it's important that when we shoot you, you have to have confidence in that, would you consider yourself a confident man? Yeah, yeah, no, I'm a confident guy.
Starting point is 00:20:51 I'm a real confident. Yeah, and he's just like kind of willing me into these, and like, right, slowly pulling me in, and I'm like, I'm totally bought into this idea that we're gonna go do this photo shoot, and I'm gonna make three or five grand over a week, and I'm fucking pumped. And the questions start getting a little more like,
Starting point is 00:21:06 you know, so, you know, are you comfortable with, you know, revealing some skin and having your shirt off? And, you know, I'm like, yeah, I mean, that's cool with that. I mean, what are we doing? He's like, oh, no, that'd be like, you know, you be a volleyball and football. And you totally masculine and I'm like, okay. And I'm like, and then he's just like, you know,
Starting point is 00:21:24 how well in doubt are you? That was what? Yes. and I'm like, okay, you know, I'm like, and then he's just like, you know, how well in doubt are you? That was what? Yes. And I was like, whoo, question, let him ask. Yeah, yeah, no, it was, and he did, he did a really good job of like getting me closer and closer to that question.
Starting point is 00:21:36 It wasn't like we were just talking and all of a sudden he said, hey, how big's your dick? You know, I'm saying like, I would have totally been turned off. He'd already wrapped me up for like 45 minutes and ask you this question. And it actually seemed like the next appropriate question, like, yeah, am I confident with myself being naked in this and that?
Starting point is 00:21:50 So anyways, long story short, I did not go out there and I started to get, after an hour of talking this guy, come to find out this is like a gay calendar and I'd have to do like these gay poses on there, which I wasn't quite comfortable with doing that for three or five grand. It's interesting. And at that time, I could use the three or five grand.
Starting point is 00:22:11 I think I just sold or just bought my house and had a hefty mortgage and thought, like, oh, wow, three or five grand. And knowing you, you wouldn't really care if someone found it. Right. I am. I am just gonna live forever. Cause I did, I'm not gonna lie.
Starting point is 00:22:23 Even after I hung up, I kinda contemplated it for a little bit like, well, you know, like I'm not, like I don't have this like gay phobia or anything like that. Like I'm comfortable with that. People call me gay all the time. I paint my toenails like, and you don't care if people, you know, and you're one of the people that you don't give a shit if it's out there.
Starting point is 00:22:38 Right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm sure it's stuff at worst stuff is floating in me out there on the internet anyways. I'm like, yeah, that's not a big deal, but I just couldn't do it. I couldn't just the not knowing and committing to it was the scary part. Like not having the details like, you know, if you take some shot of me playing volleyball with my shirt off with a bunch of other guys, like, hey, I could do that.
Starting point is 00:22:59 But if like he's snapping a football naked to me and I'm behind him, you know playing cornerback like that's a little too much Yeah, that's a little too much for me like for the extra point Come on man, and you're gonna give me the ball I know this is all part of it Oh man, what am I doing? Yeah, stop fighting Hot, hot, hot, hot The guys just getting like super excited
Starting point is 00:23:28 God, don't get please Wait, wait, wait, Justin you never had somebody what you never had an experience like that? Or somebody wanted to know what everyone in rapes. No, I just like on my space, right? You remember the site my space like the first one ever. Yeah, right? so I I put up up this picture of myself and this is back when I was in the band and I used Myspace because Myspace was the place you go to advertise your band.
Starting point is 00:23:53 Where gigs are and stuff. Is this where you had the Soul Patch or whatever? What was that? Yes, I had a Soul Patch and I had what do you call that? That specific type of hairstyle that's all greased up and back pompadour? Oh, okay. I had a pompadour gun like it was looking looking tight So anyway, I was wearing this like shirt that was like all Western shit and
Starting point is 00:24:13 Like I gave all these comments on it. Yeah, I got all these comments on it and I was like oh cool You know whatever like you know get some some you know good ones from girls and whatnot And then I got this one from this guy. And it was like, his name is Cobra, okay? That's all I have to say. His name is Cobra, he just like got out of prison. What? Like I looked at his profile and all that stuff
Starting point is 00:24:40 and like he was like describing this whole thing. Anyway, he's like looking fine, bro. You know, and like was like describing this whole, anyway, he's like, looking fine, bro. You know, and I read it in that voice. You know, it was in my head, as I was in the radio, I was like, oh, you know, I just had like chills all the way through my body. And I just, well, remember when we were looking fine, bro, when we first started Mind Pomp,
Starting point is 00:25:00 I had the guy reach out to me for the Mexico mansion, remember that? Oh, were you were supposed to have that? Yeah, remember that. I was supposed to have for the Mexico mansion, remember that? Oh, were you were supposed to have that? He was supposed to have a whole family trip. 10,000 for that. That was $10,000 for a night in Mexico at some crazy mansion with all these millionaires. And I was to be hosting it, walking around, passing out like
Starting point is 00:25:20 champagne and drinks with no shirt on and stuff. And I was like fucking down dude like I shirtless walk around champagne I don't give a shit like that in the off-png. I'm cool. Yeah, I'm good I'm comfortable with that, but then he let out later on like as I'm getting more details and getting closer to doing it It was like well more than likely you're gonna be solicited by other men and stuff like that You know do you feel comfortable you have to fight them off? Yeah, and I'm like whoa dude. No, that's not okay like They can solicit me all they fucking want, but I'm not gonna do it. Like, oh, yeah, it's kind of expected that. Oh my God. Yeah, I was like, no, then it's crazy. 10 grand is not enough. I'm more like 12 grand, bro. That's like 12 grand, man. It's gotta be. It's gotta be
Starting point is 00:25:58 fucking. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah know what? Come on, come on. Douglas. All right, the next one is that Trump just challenged Rex Tillerson to an IQ test after the Secretary of State reportedly called Trump a moron. The president's looking to settle the score. Once again, so who is that? Who is the Secretary of State, right? Yeah, so I don't know.
Starting point is 00:26:25 You know what I find funny about that? Is how people can be stupid in some ways but then be brilliant. In other ways. You know what I'm saying? I think that's common. I think everybody has that side, right? Some of the most brilliant book smart people I meet
Starting point is 00:26:40 are some of the biggest idiots when it comes to common sense. And some of the most street smart motherfuckers I ever met in my life can't read a book. So I feel like there's a give and take, right? It's, you kind of, you rarely have, although in politics, you tend to get a little bit of both, right? Typically, if you've made your way all the way up
Starting point is 00:26:57 to Donald Trump status, or Obama status, you're probably pretty sad. You just thought that like, that was part of the campaigning and all that, but then this is like going into like him still being in office and going with these weird feuds with like people through like social media. It's like, what the fuck? There's so many other things to do.
Starting point is 00:27:16 Well, I think that's part of the brilliance. Yeah. I think that's where people miss. So I also think it's really hilarious when people call him stupid because, you know, and I was not an Obama fan, you know, and I'm not much more of a Trump fan, but I would never think that any president of the United States is stupid. And I think you're stupid. You're stupid and ignorant to say something
Starting point is 00:27:36 that they're stupid because they say something that doesn't align with your values or your morals or your beliefs, whatever, to get into that position, the amount of, dude, it's not like anybody can do that. Not just any smart guy can even do that. A smart woman can do that. Well, a lot of times, two politicians will say things and you think to yourself,
Starting point is 00:27:57 like how can you be that big of an idiot? But if you start to realize that all they're trying to do is manipulate people, then you realize that they're actually very intelligent What do you know that wasn't part of the idea? It's not him being stupid It's the fact that you're fucking talking about it on your feed now that has 10,000 people paying attention to it And that was probably the desire outcome You're the moron for falling into the trap and thinking that it was it wasn't calculated
Starting point is 00:28:24 Yeah, I mean how much much self-confidence, like, talk about the epitome of having to have like self-confidence to get to a position like that, like, president of the United States of America, like, holy shit, like, you better believe in your shit, you know? So it's like, it creates like, egomaniacs, you know, like every one of them, but, you know, some of them have done benevolent things,
Starting point is 00:28:43 but it's such a weird position to like, ask somebody to, you know, like every one of them, but you know, some of them have done benevolent things, but it's such a weird position to like ask somebody to, you know, like, I feel like it's just, it's a very, very tough. You have to have a certain degree of narcissism, like a high degree, I should say, I have narcissism, because imagine this, right now, it's like someone coming to be like, hey, would you like to lead the community?
Starting point is 00:29:01 I'm just gonna lead everybody. Yeah, the free world. Come on guys, I got this. You're gonna give speeches and everyone's gonna like hang on every word you say, and you free? I'm just gonna lead everybody. Yeah, the free world. Yeah, come on guys, I got this. You're gonna give speeches and everyone's gonna like hang on every word you say and you know, I'm cool. I don't think I can do that. Right.
Starting point is 00:29:11 You know what I mean? Yeah, I know. I just, I think it's funny all the, all the, how many people spend their day debating and talking about this like and making a big deal about it. I wish you would stop tweeting for fuck's sake. Well, again, you know, again, though, that's, stop it.
Starting point is 00:29:26 That's half, that's half the strategy. And you got to know that, right? You got to know that, you know, I mean, right now, Twitter, when it comes to Twitter, that's one of the best ways that you can create stir up controversy, get people to share and talk about. I mean, the fucking news now reports on Twitter. I know.
Starting point is 00:29:41 It blows my mind. You see what happened with Dan Bilsirian? So you know that video, he posted. The one, yeah, that he showed mind. Did you see what happened with Dan Bilzerian? So you know that video, he posted. The one that he showed up. Did you see the pushback he got? No. People Fox News. Okay, this is what the country we live in now, you guys.
Starting point is 00:29:55 Okay, Dan Bilzerian has done nothing in his life to like really make people fucking talk about him on Fox News. Other than the fact that he's a social media celebrity right and Fox News reported on him yesterday because Some I forget and I'm gonna fuck it up. So I don't want to say their names somebody Actually called him out about the video and it was like some a metal of honor guy and you know war vet and he He called out Dan for being a pussy pussy and running and then asking for a gun and thinking he'd go back and like they're like
Starting point is 00:30:31 basically saying like, you know, that's like the dumbest thing ever is to go leave a place of war and terror like that to go get a weapon to go return back that's how you get yourself killed and what are you talking about credentials for gun? Like everybody was just like slamming him and the news is reporting on it right now. It's insane. The news is now reporting on gossip. Yes. Drock's news was talking about damn Bill Zirian. It's like what the fuck where are we at right now that somebody who literally built a fake fucking celebrity status by becoming popular on social media by posting cool pictures
Starting point is 00:31:07 of private jets and ass and tits and guns. All the cool shit that we all like to, I mean, I follow. Well, yeah, I follow. I'm a fan. I follow. You know the saying, but I wouldn't be reporting on it. No, it's not newsworthy. God, man.
Starting point is 00:31:20 I'm like, wow. Bro, there are news channels. We're on 24 hours a day. They got to find shit. Well, that, I mean, you got to think like from behind the scenes, right as like, wow. Bro, the news channels were on 24th of the day. They got to find shit to talk about. Well, that, I mean, you got to think, like from behind the scenes, right, as a, you know, what do you go over? You call the, the general manager of the newsroom
Starting point is 00:31:32 or whatever, it's got to be like, you know, oh, fuck, you know, things are trending down. Nobody's watching the news anymore. People are just on Twitter and also like that. We better start reporting on social media now. And that's like, you probably have, they probably have a lot more. Wouldn't be a great day of TED Talkss just took over news instead. Oh, man
Starting point is 00:31:48 Yeah, I mean like all these like hopeful people out there like dude really impactful things I found a great YouTube page called Crash Course have you guys seen this? No, so it's Crash Course and it's this fucking duty so smart But he presents things in such a good and entertaining way and it's crash course and whatever topic you pick. So it could be crash course on the Romans, crash course on the industrial revolution, crash course on. That's rad, how long are they? They're short, they're like 10 minutes long. Okay. They're fucking great, he flies through, so you got to process quick, but it's's they're really entertaining and the way they do the video. Oh, you know what?
Starting point is 00:32:26 I've seen some of his videos before dude brilliant video. I've seen some of his like science videos and stuff like that too You know, yeah, yeah, no, they're really I you too and he's either animated so he uses it But what I want you guys but so from a business standpoint Because you know, we're building our YouTube channel right and we want it to be better than anybody's in our world and our sphere. These channels are leading the way. These like crash course and the Khan Academy and Learn Liberty, which is another core another site that I like to watch. If you watch their videos, they're produced so well and so intelligently and smart the way they do them. I mean, I YouTube is gonna YouTube is gonna kill everybody. Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, that's great. I mean, YouTube is gonna kill everybody.
Starting point is 00:33:05 Yeah. You know what I mean? Yeah, that's great. I mean, the quality now is like what you would get on TV. Yeah. Oh, you know why YouTube's gonna- Access to that information. You know why YouTube's gonna kill everybody?
Starting point is 00:33:15 When's the last time you watch something that aired on television that you went to watch and you watched the commercials? You don't. You fast forward, right? It makes me angry. YouTube, you're forced to watch commercials. They're gonna get all the advertising money.
Starting point is 00:33:29 The TV's ain't gonna get shit because everybody, you know, records now through their DVR. At least until we come out with a Tivo version of YouTube. Where we can record it and then cut it out. Yeah. Wow. Why wouldn't that happen? Wow.
Starting point is 00:33:44 Why wouldn't that eventually happen? You know what? Of course, that's a great business. You know what? There already been built. There well done. Yeah, we just gave away our idea. You can't block her. No, we don't have time for that. We have another. We're not we can't do tech. Yeah. Yeah. We've learned our lesson. We give away two ideas every other day diet and that one those two things every day diet. Every other day diet. Yeah, you know, people message. I know that let you know the door. Oh really? You got all the message that already exists. Look at this and so I've been doing that. diet, that's right. You know, people message, I know that you know the door. Oh really? You got all the messages. That already exists.
Starting point is 00:34:06 The Gullis and Sal, I've been doing that. It already works for me. In different ways, but the way I can say it, it's different. We can just give, right? What else is on that list, they're Douglas? Breaking down the glorious new Star Wars, the last Jedi train.
Starting point is 00:34:21 Oh wow, this is all right. That's right, here. So they're a great question. There's Ray and Luke, Kylo's anger problems, a bunch of space battles and a glorious shot of the Lake Kerry Fisher. You would have to say about that. Yeah, it's interesting.
Starting point is 00:34:36 I was like compelled, and you know you guys haven't seen it yet, right? The trailer. The trailer's out. Yeah, the new one. Yeah, yeah. No, I haven't seen the new one. I saw the tail end of it. I was on, if I play the first time just to the day on TV. Yeah, it new one. Yeah. No, I haven't seen the new I saw I saw the tail end of it. I was on it play the first time just to day on TV. Yeah, I made me excited
Starting point is 00:34:48 I mean it's you we watch it. It's it's greedy. It's it's got this darkness to it All right, let's watch it and if it's too long dug you can edit this little silent part out You have nothing better to do done. Yeah, I want to turn Yeah Yeah Damn dude Yeah, look at who she's talking to oh What oh So So you can see like the the nerd webs look crazy, right? You know what I think?
Starting point is 00:35:25 All it's here. I think, what's her name, the girl? Ray. Ray, I think Ray is the new, she's the new type of, she's not a Jedi because the Jedi was good. She's the new archetype. Yeah, the good, and then there's the dark side.
Starting point is 00:35:39 So there's the, the good side, the bad side, she's in the middle. That's why she wears gray. Well, I thought that was it Luke? Was it Luke kind of in both? Wasn't he kind of in both too? No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no So powerful, like it scared him. So either he's referencing what happened with Kylo Ren when he was training him, or I'm thinking maybe even further back,
Starting point is 00:36:11 it was like the crater or the empire, the emperor. Because it's such raw power, it's like, she's not pulling just from the light, the good side. She's pulling from Sith. So it is, I think it's a lot of that. It's like the struggle of balance. So what it all means, so I think this movie is really going to go into the dogma of what
Starting point is 00:36:36 Jedi, the religion of it is. Oh wow. And then what that means, and that's why he's like, the Jedi is no more. Like he wants it to be done. And whatever that means, you know, like why? So what, obviously, it hasn't been working. And then now what does it look like, you know? To now, okay, so does your nerdy brain go like,
Starting point is 00:36:57 is this, is this, what's his name? Who wrote it? I can't think of his name right now. Lucas. Lucas, right? Is this his way of presenting to us like what he sees right now? Well, I think he might be involved, but I don't think he wrote any of the new ones. Oh, really?
Starting point is 00:37:15 Yeah. So this is mainly Disney bringing in writers. I think a new director. Yeah, and I think in Disney, by the way, but yeah, I mean, they are, they do an incredible job with their writing. They do such a good job. They've proven themselves to have a better job. But I think, I think what they're doing,
Starting point is 00:37:32 is they're setting them self up for a completely new franchise that's gonna go in so many different ways. I completely agree with that sentiment though, because the original one was like, you could see it as a reflection of the time of, like, you know, the industrial complex, and coming in and fucking everything up and taking over, and, you know, it's about peace and harmony.
Starting point is 00:37:55 And, you know, now it's like, well, what is good? What is, you know, what is not good? Like, everybody in power we see is fucked up, you know? And like, it's this sort of outlash to us like seeing the world with a new lens. Like, I don't know, I feel like a lot more people are jaded these days, so it does. I feel like it is kind of like going to, you know,
Starting point is 00:38:15 go into that. Are you gonna watch it by yourself like last time? Yeah. Pro, I don't know, man. I like to go with the friends. Do you go opening day? I will go by myself. You go opening day, right?
Starting point is 00:38:25 Yeah. And then what do you, you go by, so opening day it's gotta be packed, but you show up early. Yeah. You're all prepared. In costume. Do you wear anything?
Starting point is 00:38:34 I mean, I wear like a shirt. Bro, you know what I'm saying? You wear something like that. I'm not wearing anything like that. You wear something. I'll probably do it this time, dude. If you guys listen, if you guys are down, like I will seriously, I'll dress up as like,
Starting point is 00:38:45 you know, Kylo Ren or somebody, you know what I mean? Do you can we rock it? Can we make it a thing? I would be amazing. Can we dress up and have Taylor come up with a love? I would like to love you guys more as people. December, December 15th. December 15th?
Starting point is 00:38:57 I mean, I'm gay. We sure robes. But is it out midnight? Maybe we could go to a midnight showing. I call Vader, that's what I want to be. All right, Doug, you be, who do you want to be Doug? Yoda. Yes!
Starting point is 00:39:09 Yes! Oh, that's a good call. That's a good, yeah. Who you gonna be upset? What do you think I'm gonna be bro? Come on. What's her name? Leila?
Starting point is 00:39:17 You were a Ray. Yeah. I'm a Skywalker guy. Lando? Yeah. Lando. That'd be awesome. I'll be honing you be Lando. Yeah, yeah. You can do a Skywalker bro. You can do and Lando. That'd be awesome. If I were you. I'll be honing you be Lando.
Starting point is 00:39:25 Yeah, yeah. You can do a hand. I'm Skywalker because. Are you Skywalker? Like, yeah, yeah, like the. Justin, what are the numbers? What are we seeing statistically as far as like views and box office? Like, how is it doing in comparison to the original?
Starting point is 00:39:42 Hmm. I mean, smashing it just because of the, you know, the influx of people watching movies now, like that whole industry changed for a bit. I think it's actually slowing down now. If I'm not mistaken, like Hollywood numbers versus... Yep. ...because of what's happened with video games
Starting point is 00:39:59 and then being so digittal... And just digittal... ...and digital content. ...and speaking of which, my, I have a friend who has something called an Amazon Firestick. Do you guys know what these are? Yes. And it's, it's jail broken. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:12 Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. And what's that? Yeah, I, we have one. It sucks. Get free streaming or whatever. But yeah, it's like all, Dude, everybody was like pressing me on it like for some time because my, our buddy, Jay has it and my sister and her husband have it.
Starting point is 00:40:25 So what does it mean? All of it. So what's it supposed to do? And what does it mean? You can watch UFC fights for free, all the UFC fights that we pay for. So it's like the black box when we were kids. Yes, exactly.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Just like the, and just like the black box for kids, the quality of it compared to what it is when you pay for the streaming is totally, here's the thing, if you're somebody who is about saving money and you care more about saving money and just being able to experience what everybody else can experience,
Starting point is 00:40:49 you're a cheap ass. This is beautiful for you. If you're someone like me who, I tried it, what does it do? Like you just, you can see movies that are supposed to be pretty. Everything, stuff in the theaters, stuff that's in the theater?
Starting point is 00:41:00 Yeah. How do they get them on there? It's all, it's all blood, it's all blood, it's shit. And so what is it just being able to share between these things? That's all it is, it's all it really is, right? Now, and of course, it's got to kill Hollywood too.
Starting point is 00:41:11 It's better today than what it was 10 years ago or back when you're talking about back block box days for us, but it's nowhere near the same quality. And I know someone's like, oh yes, you can swap some of them are streamed in really, really good high depth, but not all of them.
Starting point is 00:41:26 And this is just like a channel. It's categorized really easy. It's very, very, very, very, super easy to search. Now what does it mean to be jailbroken? Because you're not, normally you wouldn't be able to do that with the Amazon fire stick. So the Amazon fire stick doesn't allow you to get the pay per view and all the other things that are,
Starting point is 00:41:40 that would be considered illegal for free. You know, so jailbroken is, but it's everybody, you can Google it. Dude, everybody's fucked. Hollywood is fucked. I know. They're screwed. You can't protect content. As the technology gets better, it's only going to be as good. Anything that can be free will be free.
Starting point is 00:41:57 I mean, we're heading that way. We're heading that way. The only thing is you're still going to get people like myself who I don't mind paying a premium to see it on, you know, the best quality, the best sound on the TV that I paid extra money to get the best sound. I'm just thinking it's technology. I'm just thinking it's technology. It's micro markets out there. Yeah, right. And I'm thinking it's technology gets better. That's going to be, that's going to happen also. You know what I mean? Because remember how like, like, like, like YouTube, for example,
Starting point is 00:42:25 quality of the video is not as good, but now YouTube is starting to get really good. Yeah, or Vimeo was like, they came out of that, right? Because they were doing all the high-deaf stuff and it was like premium quality and all the artists were drawn to that. But at the YouTube's already, like on par with it.
Starting point is 00:42:41 They're all fucked. The whole model of how you make money with providing content and stuff, these days is so changing. Well, I think it'll be, the way these companies will stay afloat and alive is like where we're heading with VR. I think the ability to this whole, you know,
Starting point is 00:42:59 first person where I think, I think our movie experience in 10 years is gonna be completely different. I think you'll go to a movie and you'll be like, it'll be VR style, but not only just virtual reality, but then you can change perspectives. Like it'll be shot. It'll be shot.
Starting point is 00:43:15 And what is it, what dimension is that, if you can see like that, if it's video like that, it's three dimensions. Yeah. No, if it allows, like let's say you were all, like imagine all of us moving here. Oh, you can go first person, third person. Yes, anything you want, like you can go in and out of it, right? Like, oh, I want to see if it allows like let's say you are you if we're all like imagine all of us Oh, you go first person third person. Yes, anything you want like you can go in and out of it right like oh I want to see what it's like no
Starting point is 00:43:30 I was gonna tell you like they're actually I don't know if I talked about this or not But like I was talking to somebody about the future of like movies and all that kind of stuff with VR and everything and they're like Yeah, there's actually like a place. I think it's Arizona that it has like, in actual warehouse. So it's an entire warehouse that's completely scanned and mapped. So not only is it just like virtual reality, but it's tangible virtual reality. So it's like augmented.
Starting point is 00:43:56 But so what they're gonna do is like play a movie, right? So the movie's going on, but you're actually walking through the door and you're going up the stairs, you're opening stuff like it's it's all interactive at the same time. It's fucking crazy. That's how I think it's you're gonna just like I think sports are gonna go this way. I think that you know Monday night football last night. I'm watching and I'm thinking I can't and Mike dude real soon here. I'm gonna be able to put my VR goggles on and look at like what it's like from Adrian Peterson's perspective running the ball. Especially after a big play. Right.
Starting point is 00:44:27 Then people are going to go through and be like, Oh, what do it look like when you through the ball? What do it look like when you catch the ball? Right. It's going to be, it's going to be eventually you learn all those skills just by jacking it right in your brain. So that's, and that will be a service that you'll have to pay all that stuff, right? So that will be, and they won't be able to, you know, pirate that, right?
Starting point is 00:44:45 That won't be, you'll have to be tapped into that stream. Yeah, in order to get it, right? So I think, and that's why this is the natural progression of what we're seeing, all the stuff that's just like basic, recorded, pre-recorded, people are stealing it, putting it on the internet, like that. Well, business, that's the thing, is just organizing all that and like, you know, putting it
Starting point is 00:45:03 as, you know, in whatever form, like the consumer needs that's going to create just new, you know, definition of business. So business is just going to evolve to something else. It's not going to go away. Do we have any more questions, Doug? Well, yeah, one more headline that Taylor included was that Costco launches grocery delivery program to compete with Amazon. Oh, see.
Starting point is 00:45:25 Do you or die, huh? You know what I like about what's going on right now? Competition. Yes, the competition for consumers. Competition is so good for consumers because it results in more efficiency, better products, or I should say, products that meet what the demand is calling for.
Starting point is 00:45:44 And what I like about it what's going on right now is that Consumers are starting to demand for convenience is always there. It's always a top demand, right? People always want convenience so deliveries always gonna be a thing Especially if you can deliver it faster three C's bro, but the the other one that I like in regards to food is Consumers are starting to demand better sourcing and better quality with their products. And you can see this because the amount of products
Starting point is 00:46:12 that are available now that advertise non-GMO organic, well sourced, fair trade certified, all these other things is exploding. You know how hard it was to find products before, like that now, it's everywhere. Well, this is why we were so, I mean, all of us were so excited about Thrive Market when we partnered up with them because you can just, they're forward thinking.
Starting point is 00:46:35 You can see how far ahead they are. I really think that their direct competitor will be Amazon. I think they're gearing up to handle what Amazon is gonna be doing. I mean, what they're already to be to handle what Amazon is going to be doing. I mean, what they're already doing and then where they're going, like with their ghost stores and then the purchase of whole foods, you gotta think that that's and then you see Costco make this big move. Well, so you gotta be thinking that this is Amazon's big push to to be able to same day get you groceries and stuff. Costco's got the warehouses. They've got the locations, right? So, and they've got money.
Starting point is 00:47:08 But, you know, Amazon had this interesting model where they didn't mind losing money. Yeah. If it meant that they would take out their creditors. If they had it, exactly. They completely take over that market. So, yeah, I mean, you see them do that with the shipping industry and
Starting point is 00:47:25 like how they just completely obliterated everybody else because they were willing to take the hit for a couple years. And because they knew once they got everybody, it was for good. Yes, because a big way that you make money, one of the strategies, the main strategies that grocery stores and chains make money is through because the margins are so small. People don't realize this, but the margins on selling, you know, retailing groceries is so small that really the only way to make money is to really leverage yourself with volume and size and whatever. Then you can start to make a little bit more, so bigger for these guys and more exposure. More people is better in many different ways.
Starting point is 00:48:04 One of the ways is you just can't compete when you're small. So Amazon, like the old model, like the model that they've always followed, what they're doing now, even with whole foods, how they're trying a little prices, lower prices, I think they're thinking, we don't give a shit if we lose money. We wanna destroy everybody.
Starting point is 00:48:21 Then we will have the volume to be able to make money on this. You think Walmart has taken a massive hit for Amazon as well. I think yes, but I think it's it's gonna be a war yeah, because Walmart is a juggernaut juggernaut and Walmart has the political side in their in their pocket. Remember remember Walmart employs a lot of everyday Americans. I think it's one of the largest employees in America. Oh, America. Don't think for a second if they start to get taken down that those unions and stuff are gonna try to pass laws and make it more fair to take down. That's an interesting one I was just thinking
Starting point is 00:48:54 because everybody's buying it really online and where do you buy it? Amazon. That's where you go. I tell you what, dude, what keeps these stores in even in business is that shipping is an instant, but the day it becomes almost instant, which is coming. We're getting close to the point where you'll order something.
Starting point is 00:49:11 And we know who's leading the way of that. Amazon's leading the way of that right now. I mean, it still trips me out the same day now. I mean, I know. They'll probably be the first of 3D printers and they'll just like give them to people. That's the thing. Imagine if they have 3D printers that are located in most major areas.
Starting point is 00:49:27 You order a product, it prints it and brings it over to you. So you have it within an hour. That's crazy. You know what I mean? That's what we're looking at. Yeah, good luck Costco is what we're saying. Because I love you. But that's a tough, well, what we see is all the tech companies really are dominating, right?
Starting point is 00:49:46 Your Amazon, your Google's, your Facebook, your, you know, all these tech type companies are getting their hands in all the other markets because they have so much control, power, and money, dude. They're making so much. And do you see them? They're all in the entertainment business now. You know, they're all like creating like unique content shows and they're buying up all these producers from Hollywood. I mean, they're taking over Hollywood. YouTube is making its own shows now. Netflix has been doing it for a while.
Starting point is 00:50:13 Amazon's been doing it for a while. They are going to destroy all the old dogs, mainly because the old dogs are take too long to change or to see what's coming. That's what's crazy about tech, man. So fast. Like a lot of these businesses, they're just not, or to see what's coming. That's what's crazy about tech, man. So fast. Like a lot of these businesses, they're just not, they're not prepared for that.
Starting point is 00:50:29 What do you think is gonna, what do you think with some impact fitness with these companies? Well, they're gonna try and own everything. Well, having that they got into the bodybuilding arena, didn't they? Yeah, I know that you see, you see the rock right now with his seven productions, dipping into Olympia and you got Amazon
Starting point is 00:50:47 who's partnered with them what two years ago and they've been doing the streaming and they have all the supplements on there. I mean, yeah, for sure, we will compete with them in a sense, right? I definitely think where where you'll still be able to find right? That's the big piece. Like they're gonna Costco, Amazon, fucking all these companies we're talking about are gonna take a big chunk of the pie. Like they really are. They'll still be a small slices of the pie
Starting point is 00:51:16 that people will still want this personal connection. They'll still want this like, you know, obscure, different, unique, you know, and what companies like they, like Costco and Amazon, I don't feel like they connect with people individually as well, some of your companies that are coming up now. And this goes back to the whole Gary V topic that we had the other day, like something that I think he's an example of what companies will have to do in the future. Like that are that will become powerhouses. You'll really have to represent your brand because now with the ability to connect everyone so easily,
Starting point is 00:51:56 I think everyone's going to demand that. Like our most people are going to want that. Like some people are going to shop at these places because it's more affordable because the three is even more tribal right because I have a representative from you know the company that's very visible you know either like him you don't like him it's like like very political you know like it's going to be interesting. I think the more for immediate in the more immediate sense I think you're going to see a lot of investment go into certifications or courses or classes or whatever that go into turning helping trainers become online coaches because You know you talked about how it was growing before Adam now it's becoming really big Mm-hmm, and I see that being an opportunity for trainers a big opportunity
Starting point is 00:52:40 Oh, yeah, there's lots of opportunity and but also see companies, certifications and stuff looking at it going, this is the next big. Because I can see the value and I can see the value in only paying $100 or $200 a month, which is what a lot of these online coaches will charge, these run of the mill ones for someone to just, you can text them your nutrition. Yeah, you can even Skype your workout or whatever it is. I don't even, I mean, even besides the life's, I've just texting some person.
Starting point is 00:53:07 Just having somebody. Yeah, that helps you with your coaching on a daily basis and maybe putting parameters on it, like you're limited to four messages a day or whatever. Yeah, they've already mastered that with therapy. I mean, there's people on there now that will text and communicate back and forth licensed therapists that it's like a whole big business.
Starting point is 00:53:26 I'm have you have either one of you checked up on our our buddies that we're building that app that connects the physical therapists doctors that haven't come a long time. Yeah, I know I've been I've been I've been curious to see other. Yeah, I wonder how that will how they're doing with that. Training slate. Yeah, training slate. That's right. It's been like two years since we. Yeah, we looked at them and seen what they were up to. I mean, I really liked the direction they are going. I mean, I loved it I definitely think that I'm surprised that like NASM hasn't came up with a online coaching program It's only a matter of time. It should look in their direction because yeah that that was definitely a good model to kind of go with
Starting point is 00:53:57 Well, I think it would fit well with any SM the closer we get to the train the trainer the more It's you know becoming clear that that probably should be a big part of what we even talk about when people were coaching. Because as we're learning and mastering this kind of world, I mean, this is where the opportunity is, this is where the growth is. And there's definitely the same, there's similar skills that you need to be an effective, good trainer in person that you need online, but there's also a lot of other things
Starting point is 00:54:27 that you would have to learn completely. You know, new, doing it online that you would have to do. Well, not if we do our job really well, which is, I mean, and that's why it's still, we're not there yet. I feel like every day we're a little bit closer, which is, I feel like, you could take, I mean, I feel confident that I could take somebody who has no training background whatsoever, right?
Starting point is 00:54:48 And if we drop them in some sort of a certification process, which basically told the basic needs they have, but most of the training would be centered around how to navigate through the stuff that we already currently have. we already currently have. And I know Taylor's talking to a company right now that could build a really robust search engine within our website and we're still putting out videos that we know that are necessary for this. But eventually I could see just anybody being able to go, like, okay, like name up issue that you could be dealing with, saying whether it be an A, a pain, a personal goal,
Starting point is 00:55:23 a challenge, like a nutritional question, like, you know, we've almost done a video blog or a whole podcast episode on damn near everything that we've ever encountered over 20 years. I just use those tools to code. Yeah, it is wire-framing. Yeah, so it all makes sense, yeah, because if this, then that, right?
Starting point is 00:55:42 And we definitely have all the content that's there to really like fill in a lot of those holes for people. There's still the benefit, right? There's always the benefit of having a person that you can work with. Well, there's a huge benefit there still. I mean, you can't, let's be honest, as much as we're heading this direction and we're going to provide this service for people in the future, there still will be people. It's always best though. If you work with someone who's good, well, that's the best thing. There's also, there's still like, you know, and I already noticed this right now with like, when we released Maps Prime Pro, you know, all my clients have it that I ever trained, you know, that was like, I told all of them,
Starting point is 00:56:16 because most, you know, clients were 50 plus years old and I'm like, you have to have this program as a resource. But I still find that all of them reached out to me for helping guidance on it. And that was one of the most like, like, coached programs, right? So you really need somebody to be able to cue. I mean, that just will make it maximize it. You don't need it, I shouldn't say, but you definitely would benefit from somebody looking at you doing these because I mean, you're so unfamiliar. Well mean, it's so unfamiliar. Well, the intent is so important.
Starting point is 00:56:46 The intent, like, because the average person does understand that, you know, the body is gonna go through it's trained pathway already, right? So if you show a video or a demo, the person who gets down to do that movement, right, on the ground, or if it's an exercise, they're watching the video,
Starting point is 00:57:04 they're moving and they're doing it, their body's gonna take the path and pattern that they've trained it for for many, many years, it doesn't necessarily mean it's the right or the healthy path for their body. And so in their mind, they think they're performing the movement or the exercise correctly because they're moving through whatever range of motion and they think they're mirroring the movement,
Starting point is 00:57:22 but what they don't realize is that they've created such poor patterns that, and they don't know mirroring the movement, but what they don't realize is that they've created such poor patterns that, you know, they, and they don't know how to correct them. So the intent of the movement is so important. And that's where they're really the hands-on stuff. Like, so I think the online coaching world will definitely address a majority, like a lot of the people that are already training
Starting point is 00:57:41 and exercising and just seeking more and better instantization. So here's an idea that I had for some technology. I know it doesn't exist, but I'm sure it will. And if it doesn't, then I hope someone's listening who can create something like this. But I had met a little while ago with a representative from a company that was creating this clothing
Starting point is 00:58:01 that you would wear, and it would signal you when your posture went out. So it would, you always constantly reminded you to put yourself in good posture, which I thought was like, whatever, not that great of an idea, it's not gonna really change anything because someone can force himself
Starting point is 00:58:15 into what looks like good posture, but in reality also be activating muscles and a bad recruitment pattern. And you guys know as well as I do, that's not necessarily gonna help. But I thought while I was talking or exercise clothing that picked up, and it could be easy,
Starting point is 00:58:31 this wouldn't be difficult to do, I don't think as a technology exists, it would pick up when muscles are firing with how much intensity, you put these pants on, you put on the shirt, whatever, then you do your movement and your squat, and it maps out your recruitment pattern. Does it map out your recruitment pattern?
Starting point is 00:58:49 Mm-hmm. It does. I'm pretty sure, yeah, it gives you the intensity of, like, yeah, how much force you produced. But does it show you per muscle? Like, here's what your muscle patterning looks like for this exercise. Do these correctional exercises?
Starting point is 00:59:01 Yeah, I don't know if it's as sophisticated, but I'm sure they could, you they could build a model like that. Do you guys see where I'm going with that? Like it would show. I think stuff like that kind of exists already. Yeah, they're trying to figure that out. Yeah, for sure. Because I could see how, now here's the thing.
Starting point is 00:59:14 That would be such an amazing tool. Here's the thing with that. I mean, you have to wear. That reminds me now heading towards like our buddy Craig's whole idea and concept of, you know, sometimes too much information is overwhelming for the average consumer. Yeah, that, so I think that's, Well, no, this would not be for more.
Starting point is 00:59:32 This sounds like such a cool product for us. Yes, for as a true coach. For coaches, like coaches and athletes. Right, I see it being for coaches or correctional exercise specialists when they're helping someone correct in the balance. Athletes are already evolving to the next level. I don't know if you guys have noticed
Starting point is 00:59:46 with all this technology boom, but it's because of that fact. Like it's these coaches that are taking all this data and they're actually like tweaking and like doing these micro tweaks to like their habits and like what they're focusing on, practicing on constantly. So it's a little bit,
Starting point is 01:00:03 it's a lot more specific now. They've figured out smarter ways to organize the off season and this and that and what to focus on. But as far as your average person, that's just way over the head. Like I said, I think Craig is struggling with right now. It's a brilliant idea and concept, the direction that he was going with a metron. but I mean, fuck dude, it's so, that's cool for you. It's not cool for the 80% of the people out there that you can overwhelm people.
Starting point is 01:00:33 Yeah, it's too much. We've already figured it out a long time ago that if a three-year-old can't use it and a five-year-old can't figure it out, like it's too much for the average consumer. They don't want all that overload. And we know this, how many times have you been trying to teach a client?
Starting point is 01:00:51 And I know we've all experienced this lots of times where you're trying to break the science down to someone and they're like, I don't even want to know. Just tell me what to do. Where is this my elbow going? Just tell me what to do. Just tell me what to do. How many times have you had that?
Starting point is 01:01:02 Like I've had that hundreds of times. We're clients like don't want to hear the science. They're like, I don't care. Like I try to keep. I'm auto pilot, just move me. And they're like, I pay you for that. And those people are making the active choice to at least hire a professional to help them out with it.
Starting point is 01:01:15 How many other people are like, don't want the science and then they don't even want to do the work or just spend the money. So when you start thinking about it like that, you know, you think of products that are, you know, sound really cool. The idea and the concept of them as training professionals, but as an average consumer, I think it's just like, it's white noise, you know, what about like mindfulness tools and technology? Well, here's the funny part about that. Like,
Starting point is 01:01:40 so I think that's really interesting. And that's a lot of stuff that, because you're already seeing kind of an explosion and Yeah, it was on shark takes and lady had some app that was just all about being mindful and had different coaches. Oh, yeah, we were together Okay, yeah, it was like the meditation app or whatever. Yeah, I could see a lot only because it's becoming a trend a trendy thing So that usually the technology is fighting fire with fire kind of like you know We talked about with you know the the no company Kind of like, you know, we talked about with, you know, the no company and how they approached, you know, food products and stuff, how they're trying to make, like junk food,
Starting point is 01:02:10 but healthier junk food. I think it'll be a small trend. And I think it'll be a small trend because, like Justin just said, it's fighting fire with fire. Like you said, it's what's trending right now. And so I think you could pretty much throw anything in that direction and it's going to do okay. But I think that will start to kind of get shaken out after a while
Starting point is 01:02:30 because people will realize that, okay, if the whole idea of being more mindful, more present and disconnecting from tech, what am I doing using tech to help me do that? Yeah. Like it's kind of like the easy answer is like just put it all away, walk away from it. And you'll be more present, more mindful, and more communicate on your own. Right.
Starting point is 01:02:49 Just like don't think anything. Right. And I think when people really start to put that into practice and really make those, and you know what, at first, you're probably right, a lot of people will do well because a lot of people won't be able to make that initial connection like, oh, this is all I'm really doing is fucking as it's training wheels. Right, exactly. It's really, really basic.
Starting point is 01:03:07 And so maybe at first we see these companies do really well, but eventually I think business is like float tanks, massage places and mindfulness type facilities where like cell phones aren't allowed. And there's no tech there. And it's just getting back to nature. I think I think even clubs like I know there's there's certain like bars and like where they right they they have like just chairs They didn't have TVs now like they've taken like all like electronics stuff out like there's a this is like
Starting point is 01:03:38 Becoming kind of a trend now. See I could see that which is really cool It's like you know you're going to an actual pub because my favorite part when I when I actually went to Ireland You know more than it's just like a beautiful place. It was that going into the pubs It's like you go in there. There's nothing like you're there. You're having a pint and everybody's like has like great stories Yeah, and you're just like sitting there like listening to people and it's fucking awesome You know, but like you don't get that kind of interaction anymore. It's like, and I think people like, they crave that on a subliminal level, you know, we're not getting that anymore. Well, I definitely I know, I think it's a, I think it's an excellent point. I mean, I can, I can recall times of
Starting point is 01:04:16 walking up to a bar or a pub and sitting at the bar and then just like staring at the TV because you don't know anybody at first. But with the whole purpose of like going something like that is be social and do that. But the whole purpose of like going something like that is be social and do that. But here I am sitting at a bar, having a beer, starting to tell him. I've never gone to a bar by myself. Have you guys done that?
Starting point is 01:04:31 I have. I've never done that. Is that what you're wearing alone? I, well, I used to like it would be weird. I had a place downtown where this guy, this guy used to, he used to do flair. And so I would go. You used to do what?
Starting point is 01:04:42 You know, they call flair, where they do the, where they, you know, flip the drinks they do the where they've you know flip the drinks and do like a cocktail of a movie with yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah and they and he was like really really good yeah like super entertaining like I would go there at a certain time to get there before everybody showed up just to watch him and so I'd go down there sometimes and just me or me and a buddy and we'd have a beer and just watch him do his stuff And I got to know who know him pretty well and and then eventually the owner actually got rid of him
Starting point is 01:05:11 Yeah, it was you know, and I think he had something to do with like he was getting too much of the attention And it was pulling from all the other days and all the other people and so I think he got rid of him because it's too good. Again, really. Not a really poor. Stupid business owners. Yeah, right? I got to love business owners of do that. Silly, right? I mean, I mean, I was a guy who literally came there
Starting point is 01:05:33 for that reason. What a midi. You don't think about that. You're thinking about how it's hurting the other days, but you're not thinking about how many people are drunk. How do you get the other days that go up? Right, right.
