Starting point is 00:00:00 If you want to pump your body and expand your mind, there's only one place to go. Mite, op, mite, op with your hosts. Salda Stefano, Adam Schaefer, and Justin Andrews. Whoa! Whoa! It's a bonus episode coming in hot! Did you get my... Yeah, nice haircut. Are you guys on? You know what? That's why I'm in a good mood right now. Wait a minute. I'm in a good mood right now because I got a good haircut. No
Starting point is 00:00:29 well, you're growing more hair Yes, you are look at him. I mean Justin look stop trying to sell our audience No look look stop it. I swore to God, dude. Am I bull am I tripping? It looks like it's coming. It's a little bit better. Well, am I trim my well? This is why I think you're tripping? It's long too. It looks like it's coming, it's a little bit better. Well, am I tripping? Am I tripping? This is why I think you're tripping. I mean, I like to think that, but whenever I see my hair stylist,
Starting point is 00:00:51 like it always looks the best after that. You know what I'm saying? She's no dummy, she sees the thinning going on in the back there. You know what I'm saying? She's using her illusionary. Yeah, I think, no, there's literally, I've talked to her about it. I'm like, when you cut a guy's hair like,
Starting point is 00:01:04 mine that's thinning, I was like, is there like, she's been doing this for a long time, right? Strategic. Yeah, so she's in her mid fifties. So she's been cutting hair, and she's been cut her since she was like 19 years old. So she's been cutting hair forever. And we're talking and I'm asking her about like,
Starting point is 00:01:17 you know, hey, when you cut a guy's hair, that's thinning like mine, you know, is there a certain way you cut it or you cut it differently than you would cut just a normal guy? And she's like, oh, absolutely. She's for 100%. So they leave it a little bit longer. There's like strategies.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Yeah, blend it a little bit more gently. You get a discount? Yeah, there's less to cut. Fuck you guys. There we are for the first time. No, it doesn't. I noticed it before you got your haircut. Earlier when we were recording with Jordan,
Starting point is 00:01:49 you had your hat off and I noticed it looks better. I really like how she shapes the beard now. That's, um, oh what? Yeah, she shapes my beard. So, and I have, you know, I have fat face, right? So we talk about this on the show all the time, like all my body fats in my face. So, I don't like, when I get my facial hair,
Starting point is 00:02:06 it's like a little longer than like stubbley. It starts to make my face look fat and round. And so a lot of times that's why I cut my beard. I normally cut my beard because I get tired of the side hair because it starts to make my face literally look like a basketball. So she shapes my beard to give the illusion of my face being more narrow. And it totally works. It's a trip
Starting point is 00:02:27 That's what I mean I mean, here's the thing like I was just thinking about this other day about like the real difference as you as you Like scale up like financially like what's the diverse from being somebody? Who you know makes 50 grand a year makes 70 grand a year makes 100 grand a year makes 100 what's what's really the difference in those And it's really like these little subtle things. This is one of those things I feel like. So I was a kid who for most of my life got a $9 haircut. You know, then I was a kid who,
Starting point is 00:02:52 I still do. I started making, as I listen, so this is the progression of it. Like $9 haircut forever, all the way till I was about 20 years old. Well, once I hit 20 years old, I was starting to make decent money for back then, right? So I was making 50 grand a year, right?
Starting point is 00:03:05 So this was over 15 years ago. And so my haircuts now are like $20. You know, it's like a $20 haircut. Still, I will not, I will not go to no fucking salon at this point. You know, Sam, I'm not making enough money. I'm gonna say that where the hell do you still get $9 haircuts, bro? I can see. For me, it's 20.
Starting point is 00:03:23 There's a hair cut place that I go to where I don't even, I think it just, I think literally the name is, I think the sign on the, for the store is haircut. I don't even think they named it anything. You just put what they do. Which is haircut. If they knew that one way.
Starting point is 00:03:36 And the people don't speak any, barely in English. No. And so here's the deal. I used to get my haircut and spend like 70 bucks because I had a dude that I trained. And it would's a deal. I used to get my hair cut and spend like 70 bucks because I had to do that. I trained and it would take them an hour and a half to two hours to cut my hair. And then I went and go to this $9 one
Starting point is 00:03:52 and it's almost as good. And for me, it's like, whoa, you know, almost as good $9. The way that I like my hair, I used to go to like, cause Courtney's friend, actually she's a stylist or whatever and she used to actually dye my hair and deal with thing like cut it, but like, she's a stylist or whatever, and she's actually dying my hair and doing the thing, like cut it, but like she could never give me
Starting point is 00:04:10 like the awesome man-fade. You know what I mean? I would go to, I've always been to barbers and I have to go back to barbers. I finally found another barber that doesn't write. You used to dye your hair? Yeah, I did. What color?
Starting point is 00:04:22 They did. Well, it was more like, yeah, I was like a darker brown, but then I actually went for a while, like jet black. For a while. Yeah, bro. Oh, I rocked it. On your, what? Yeah, I'll like greased back and shit, dude.
Starting point is 00:04:35 It was pretty, it was pretty stylish. No, I will never die, I died my hair like four times. And I was like, what a pain, yes. I feel so empathetic to women who have to do it all to me. Yeah, it's just, it's silly after a while. Like this is just weird how that looks cool on us, you know, say like I think it looks I think both of you guys here the amount of silver and gray you got going on there. It looks good looks distinguished Yeah, I would much rather be in that situation and looking back at what I'm working with you know
Starting point is 00:04:56 I'm like fuck, you know, I gotta get some grades. It's so people it's clear. I said that and now I'm sort of get the Grays coming into now. Oh, yeah, I get like the random beard was, but I think of the the hair thing just had more gray than you when I was 18, bro. Do you think of the hair thing just like a personal, personal trainer, like a personal trainer can still, like say the worst trainer ever, right? It's training a client. Like, I mean, they still could work them out hard and make them sweat
Starting point is 00:05:18 and burn calories and lose weight. You know what I'm saying? I just, but when you actually get a real trainer that actually maybe teaches you a little bit about diet and nutrition and do this, right, then it's like, oh shit, that's what I'm paying for for paying. But then you get to the next level and the third level after that, that's like when you get to the people that like, take it to understand that there's so much more going on than just macros and working out and there's a much bigger monster you need to attack if you're going
Starting point is 00:05:39 to have life live long and healthy and understand how to do that correctly, right? So I think, and that's like the third level of the trainer. The hair thing's the same thing. There's a look at my hair. My hair is not like, I can understand if you need like, if you're cutting like a woman's hair or someone's hair who lives like a specific style, my hair comes itself. I don't really need more than $9 worth.
Starting point is 00:06:01 You know what I'm saying? There's not much technically to say. I used to think the same way, dude. It would be like, imagine this. Imagine if you have a client. You know what you sound like? You's not much taking. I used to think the same way, dude. It would be like, imagine this. Imagine if you have a client. You know what you sound like? You sound like the client who's been like, my trainer's the best.
Starting point is 00:06:09 I every time I see him, it gets me in the, yes. He's way more to it. There's way more to it. Imagine if a client blasted on the forum rough tomorrow, our hair style. Imagine, get ready. Listen, get him, girls. Imagine if a client came to you and was like, listen,
Starting point is 00:06:23 you get it. All I want to do is walk. I just came to you and was like, listen, you could get a score. All I wanted to get ready. If a client came to you and said, all I want to do is walk. I just want to go for a walk for 20 minutes. Can you train me? Go higher this guy over here, or start your 10 bucks and do that. When I get a haircut, I'm like,
Starting point is 00:06:34 can you cut a short on the sides in the back? Leave the top of the longer. Thank you. Nine dollar. I judge it completely off of your performance on a one and a half fade. One and a half? You can't pull off a one and a half fade. One and a half? You can't pull off a one and a half fade and it's like sharp.
Starting point is 00:06:47 You do hold it tight. You know, it's very tight. And it's like super blended out and like, you don't like the step. And I'm out, man, I'm never coming back. You don't want to step. See, I want to grab a great stylist will be able to hear that from you and then know how to actually give you what you want
Starting point is 00:07:01 but actually for your head. Because you're fucking. For your head. Because your form it to your head. Because your head is different than his. And different, all three of us have very different schools, hairlines, everything. Oh, that's so mouth-sour. Yeah, everything's different.
Starting point is 00:07:12 So it makes it, you'll see. I'm circums. Just watch. Wait till this episode goes up and our form gets live. Because I know we have some hairstyles inside our form, dude. Yeah, I know we do. I do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:23 So the number one of the number one. Why would we do. I do. Yeah. Yeah. So, the number one thing we do this, one of the number one things in questions I get asked all the time about our programs and stuff is which one burns the most body fat. Now, I know our answer is always you want to speed up the metabolism, you want to build strength, you want to build muscle, it's a longer process, but I still get the question like, okay I do all of that, but if I want to burn as much body fat as possible in a short period of time How do I do that? And so what we've done is and I'm excited because it's been one was a last new map program that we launched Oh, I feel like it. I think prime I think prime I think okay, we did. I think prime, okay, the last two, we did correctional the last two,
Starting point is 00:08:06 so it's been the last actual workout. It's been almost two years. It's been almost two years. Yeah. This is, it's been two years. We are launching a brand new workout maps program, that correctional exercise, but actual follow it for your workout,
Starting point is 00:08:20 and we did hit its super chair. We are goal with this was. Max level though, bros. Our goal, nobody else. Like nobody else. Bullshit out there. Our goal was can we develop a six week program that burns maximum body fat?
Starting point is 00:08:35 Like what can we do? And we know we hate that. We hate the whole short term, you know, 30 days or whatever people say, but if people still want it, people are still going to do it. And it's like, okay, what we wanna do then is we wanna do this right. We wanna program it right so that it's super effective and to address the pitfalls that happen with a program
Starting point is 00:08:54 that's designed to burn as much fat as possible. This is the first program to come with a warning, too. That's true for that reason. It's true, it's intense, it's intense, but it is programmed properly. And what we did is we made sure to address the issues that happen with programs that try to get you to burn as much body fat as possible. What do you typically see with hit programs that you used to drive me crazy?
Starting point is 00:09:19 It's 100% just plyometrics, and that's it. That's it. And it's all all not even thought, like well thought out as far as stringing these exercises together, it's just like jump, you know, clap push up and do whatever else. See it get in place and jump and keep jumping. If we were gonna do a hit program like everybody else,
Starting point is 00:09:40 it would be easy. It'd be like here you go jump squats, burpees, run in place, like stupid stuff, right? We actually, we- Shadow box. No, we programmed this right. And then the thing that I love the most about this is, yes, it will burn tons of calories.
Starting point is 00:09:53 There's three levels to it. So there's level one, level two, and level three. So you can progress yourself or you could start at whatever level you're at. It's 15, 20, and 25 minute long workouts. These are 15, 20, 25 minute hit cycles. We have barbell complexes that you start with, then there's dumbbell complexes,
Starting point is 00:10:10 and then there's body weight complexes. But then we also did something totally unique. That's in no program that we have, something called flow sessions. Which I was actually really excited about. Yes. Just comboing, and each one of us I know have kind of experimented with this already, like doing mobility sessions, but now we're like comboing in each one of us, I know, have kind of experimented with
Starting point is 00:10:25 this already, like doing mobility sessions, but now we're like, comboing moves. So it flows in kind of a serpentine fashion where now it's like, you know, the whole workout is this nice progression of going from one move to the other and it's well thought out. It's actually a pretty fun workout. You're going through movements in a cycle for mobility as well, and that's every other day. So the way it works basically is you have your hit workouts and then on the days in between, you have your flow sessions which address mobility,
Starting point is 00:10:54 flexibility, and they also are somewhat workouts. You still do burn calories doing them. So it's not pure mobility, it's like mobility workout. And then we also have neat targets that we give you on the days off. So this is a program we look, here's a deal like sometimes you have to, you have to listen to the market and the market keeps telling us, you know, we hear what you're saying, we listen to your podcast. Yeah, we get to share why we didn't do this for so long. Why, why would we not come out with it when let's okay, let's be honest, okay? This is the easiest one
Starting point is 00:11:21 to market by far. Yes, it is because this is what plays into that. So you have to share that with the audience for those that don't understand why we avoided giving a hit program for so fucking long. We wanted to have, we wanted to develop a base first. We wanted to give foundation. Yes, we wanted to have tools available so that if someone comes to us and says,
Starting point is 00:11:42 hey, I just want to burn as much fat as possible, as fast as possible, we could say, fine, this program in six weeks will do that. However, what we recommend you do is also build up your metabolism with something like maps and a baller, or performance or aesthetic. Oh, and if you have mobility issues, there's a mobility component.
Starting point is 00:11:58 And oh, you have pain. Here's maps prime, prime, prime, pro. We wanted to be able to, because at the end of the day, we aren't going to compromise on our integrity. But again, people, this is, what's, since day one, this is what people have wanted. We also know too that it's not a long-term solution. No. We know it's not a long-term solution to follow. That's why it also comes with a warning and in the warning it talks about
Starting point is 00:12:18 that this is not something we recommend for you to do much longer than six weeks. Yeah, you do it for six weeks and then after then after that, your best bet is to cycle into another maps program. But here's what I like about it too. Like, here's a deal. And this is reality. Reality is, you know, summers around the corner, what can I do so that I can be as lean as possible in a four or five or six week period. We have the answer now.
Starting point is 00:12:42 Do this program. So you do your normal workout. You're done with it. Now do maps hit. and as long as your nutrition is good, you will see faster fat loss than you'll see within any of the program. It's going to be very fast, very accelerated. Of course, we recommend you cycle out of it because training in this fashion for too long is like it is for anything for too long. It's like someone who runs all the time, you're sending a signal for your body to adapt and get used to that much.
Starting point is 00:13:07 You're going to quickly adapt to a program like this. And I think too that all these programs have been based off of the adaptation process. And this is actually one that we're kind of going in more of the optimizing mentality. We're, OK, let's stretch our boundaries a little bit further and then come back to our adapting process. This is why I was so excited about the flow sessions. The flow sessions to me I think is what's so you- It's the great balance to it. It's what's so unique about this program.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Like what is aside from the great program behind it that we didn't just throw a bunch of random exercises that there's it's actually thought out with the barbell complexes and then transitioning in a body or to put dumbbell and then in a body weight. Like, there's a lot that's gone into this program to make it different and unique, and all the pitfalls and the holes that we have seen in training someone this style. So, all of us have trained, you know, tons of clients, and we've done hit training before.
Starting point is 00:13:57 Right, done hit training ourselves, trained tons of clients, and I can look at the hundreds of people that have been trained this way by me and go, okay, what are the most common things that I saw that were some of the challenges, the pitfalls that people fell in? This is why we don't recommend very long. This is why we include some sort of active recovery in there. This is why we include the flow session.
Starting point is 00:14:15 So there's a lot of thought put into everything that went into designing a program that we very easily could have just thrown a bunch of really hard exercises in, high intensity and just say go for this long and and and that's a lot of what we saw right right out there was this is what you see is there's just not a lot of real science or thought put into programming a simple program that's only 20 minutes zero initiatives towards like recovery out there I really don't know a lot of programs out there that really put any emphasis on like, okay, if we're gonna go and rev it this, this like capacity, like what,
Starting point is 00:14:50 what am I doing to also kind of sustain this and keep my joints healthy throughout this process? That's right. And there's really two types of people that this program is for. The person who wants very fast or accelerated fat loss. So somebody who has a short period of time wants to burn as much body fat as possible, in a short period of time.
Starting point is 00:15:11 And then the other person I can see benefiting from this is somebody who's interested in developing maximum conditioning because these kind of workouts contribute greatly to that kind of strength and endurance that you need for a sport or for something like, you know, like if you're going to do a crossfit or if you're going to do, you know, a grappling tournament or whatever, this is going to build that type of conditioning because the intensity is so high. But what I like about this also is you're going to spend less time in the gym with maps hit.
Starting point is 00:15:41 It is intense, but your full workout is between 15 to 25 minutes. It is pure hit, is real hit workout. Now a lot of people might not realize, well, why 25 minutes max? And that's level three. Why do that? Why not do a full 60 minutes? Well, we're not just trying to burn tons of calories. We're also trying to send some strength building signal and send some like, you know, metabolism, getting some things. Otherwise, that works. Otherwise, you're not much different
Starting point is 00:16:08 than someone who's getting on a treadmill and running through at that point. And that's really what happens. So what you end up seeing people do, and this was something too, I remember experiences even on my orange theory is watching these guys and girls that the way that they have programmed there for the masses is you have this 20 to 30 minutes
Starting point is 00:16:24 on the treadmill and the rower, and have this 20 to 30 minutes on the treadmill and the rower, and that's supposed to be your quote unquote cardio, and then you go over the weight section and you do these circuit routes. There's circuit bouts of lifting weights, but what you would see would happen, it didn't matter, I mean, how much I preach to these people what to do, they still would not listen
Starting point is 00:16:39 because the fast pace of the class and the competitiveness of other people working with them, and then then I'm all trying to go after these points for being in orange, but what they would end up doing is they would just do cardio for an entire hour. And I would stop the class sometimes and be like, do you guys understand that you're not even really getting the real benefits of what you want from it? It's not full range of motion. No, it's quick pumping light weight reps with no rest between sets and it's just one,
Starting point is 00:17:02 one, one, one with another and their heart rates are staying elevated the entire time. It's like, you may as well just stay on the treadmill for the fucking whole entire hour. You really defeat the purpose of someone trying to program like that. It's aimless. So that is our way of keeping people too from actually shooting themselves in the foot and wanting the desire to almost turn it into cardio. Yeah. And then the membership portal, so when someone enrolls in hit, it's similar to the other math programs in that you have, you know, the Blueprints that tell you what to do, what exercises to do, there's video demos, but there's a couple differences.
Starting point is 00:17:34 So one of them is we actually made a calendar where you can just look at like one page calendar, very basic click on it. There it is, it tells you what to do on Monday, what to do on Tuesday, what to do on Wednesday. This was a response to a lot of emails that I had received for people that were like, man, could you guys do some sort of a calendar?
Starting point is 00:17:53 I would love to just put it on my refrigerator as a reminder and I can exit off every single day. Just something that you can look at one thing. And it's very, very clear. So we put that in there and we also got a mail and a female model doing these videos. So every every hit workout every flow session is filmed with both a male model and a female model. So you can actually watch two demonstrations both of which same exercises, same flow sessions done slightly
Starting point is 00:18:21 different because you have a guy who's kind of big and muscular doing it, and then you have a girl who's a little smaller with better mobility, and you can kind of see both of them. You can see where they struggle or where they perform a little bit better within each one of the exercises, and it is somewhat clear on that. But it is kind of nice to have the option of that, and if that's something that you can identify with a little bit more. Well, we also did something that I thought was unique to this program, which was the scaling the levels where we have the option for you to be beginner, intermediate or advanced.
Starting point is 00:18:52 So you have that ability to do and then also gives you flexibility with time. So one, you could ramp it up intensity wise, the longer duration, the 15, 20, then 25 minutes. So I think that was one of the most unique things that we put inside this program. Yeah, because we're like, okay, we're going to So I think that was one of the most unique things that we put inside this room. Yeah, because we're like, okay, we're gonna make this intense, but we're gonna have people who are more beginner
Starting point is 00:19:11 intermediate, and then we're gonna have people who are more intermediate advanced than advanced. We wanted to give a scaling option with new and different exercises. And then the other cool thing with hit is very minimal equipment is required. A barbell, dumbbells, and your body. So it's not lots of equipment, lots of machines, whatever.
Starting point is 00:19:30 If you're following this program, you can take this program with you, go to the gym, grab your barbell, grab your dumbbells, stay in your corner and do the entire workout. So whether your gym is busy or not super equipped, or if you have a home gym. Yeah, the home gym, it screams home gym to me. Like if you only need like a barbell,
Starting point is 00:19:48 and you need dumbbells, that's it. That's all you need. Or if you have a short period of time, like here's a deal, like a lot of our listeners do, you know, maps and a ball, like our maps were former so maps aesthetic, you know, you can mix it in very easily. You know, if you say to yourself,
Starting point is 00:20:02 oh shit, I only have 20 minutes to work out. I don't have the typical hour. Boom, throwing a hit workout. So it's very, and oh, for trainers, this program is invaluable. Absolutely invaluable because there's programming ideas for training for specific things like strength, or flexibility, or even mobility now.
Starting point is 00:20:23 You're certain to see more stuff. But when it comes to hit, there's no, the programming is based on just make your client sweat, you know, intense burst of sprint for, you know, 15 seconds with a 30 second, you know, burpees. That's it. There's no programming. So this really will help you a lot if you're a personal trainer. So it is launched as now, right now,
Starting point is 00:20:45 this episode, you can get the program maps hit at mindpumpmedia.com. Now it is on sale for the launch. So it's $20 off the normal price. The normal price is $107. You're gonna get it for $87. That's what you pay it once. And that's gonna be good until Sunday, February 18th.
