Starting point is 00:00:36 The link is in the description. What would you like to do? If you don't like what you're doing and you don't like where you are and you don't like your relationships and you don't like X, Y, or Z, what do you want? What do you like? And then you've got to be able to add passion to it to activate that thing and make that dream a reality. Are you fully aware?
Starting point is 00:01:00 of the bridges that are required to cross over to make your dream a reality. I think a lot of people, they have this vision in their head, this dream, but they don't know how to make it a reality. We navigate through life and we keep missing the bridges to bridge the gap between dream and reality. So do you know what is required of you? Are you aware of what is required of you to make happen what you see only in your head? I want to give you another quote.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Almost every man waste part of his life and attempts to display qualities which he does not possess. I want you to ask yourself the question, are you the person that is projecting a different view to the world on social media, on your websites, in your meetings? Are you projecting a different you? Are you the same person in private? And I know that there are multiple versions of yourself or even I have multiple versions of me, but are they consistent? I want to answer the question, are you aware of your why?
Starting point is 00:02:02 Are you aware of your why? So now that you've discovered, okay, I'm not doing what I want to do, and I need to learn how to do what I want to do, and I need to figure out the bridge to bridge the gap between the dream and the reality, do you know why you want to do what you actually want to do? What is your why? Because if the why is great enough, if you're aware of that why,
Starting point is 00:02:24 then you can begin to back that why with work ethic. Every why's got to be backed up by work. You want to be committed. You want to be consistent. You want to be creative. You want to be purposeful. You want to be reflective. And you want to be grateful.
Starting point is 00:02:44 These are just a few things that you want to be as you are moving forward in your self-awareness. You've identified your weaknesses. You will identify that there is a gap between who you are, what you are. want and where you want to be. There's a massive gap. Awareness and the acceptance of that awareness is the bridge to the future. This is going to connect you to your destiny tribe. Your destiny tribe comes with multiple types of people. What would you like to do? What do you believe you've been destined to do? What talents, skills, giftings, and abilities do you possess to support your desire to do it. What are your motives for wanting to do it? Why do you want to become what you are
Starting point is 00:03:37 looking to become? What steps are you taking to become and to live the life to make the dream a reality? When you have awareness and you have your actions but you have no accountability, you set yourself up for a great fall. Let me ask you a question. What price are you willing to pay to make the dream a reality? How aware are you? Are you aware of the price that you are willing to pay? Relationally, emotionally, emotionally, physically, mentally, spiritually. There is a price to pay to manifest a dream. You know, two of the greatest moments in an individual's life is the day they were born
Starting point is 00:04:21 and the day that they realized why they were born. Are you aware of your why? Why are you here? What are you doing? Who are you connected to? Your people, your places, and your purpose. Some of y'all have been worshiped since you was in high school, so you don't really know how to grind. Like you talk grind.
Starting point is 00:04:50 Like I love it. Like I go into the wave room and y'all playing like Pock. Y'all playing Biggie. Like y'all all in it. Like you like Puck, but you don't have a spirit of Pock. You like love POP. You like listening to POP. You like listen to Biggie.
Starting point is 00:05:05 You like to talk about the grind. But you don't really know what the grind's like. I know what the grind is like. I was homeless. I ain't out of trash, care. Now, go on the internet right now. I'm one of the number one speakers in the world. I started from the bottom, like you like listening to it and see,
Starting point is 00:05:20 started from the bottom now, what's your bottom? What is your bottom when you've been worshiped since middle school? You've been tall your whole life, big your whole life. They worship you so much now that you think it's about you. You don't even know what the grind looked like. I'm from Detroit. homeless mama got pregnant with me a 17 years old high school dropout took me 12 years to get a four-year degree I'm coming now it's in view you finally made it
Starting point is 00:05:46 to the big leagues and now you want to chill now you got the big head now you can't grind you hear now you here now you finally made it and this is where you break up this is where you start chilling this where you get comfortable you made it now you made it now you in the big leagues now They're watching you now. This is where you make it permanent. Yeah, I saw it. I saw perfect perfect. Nope practice don't make perfect practice make permanence This permanent y'all. This is permanent. You can go wherever you want to go from here It does not take talent. You don't have to be talented right? You don't have to be gifted you don't have to be the quickest the strongest You don't have to be the most intelligent to get to where I am. That's what you got to do you just got to be
Starting point is 00:06:40 a grind though. You got to outgrind. So many of you heard me say this. Your father, listen to me, might own a company, your mama might be a millionaire, you might come from privilege, your daddy might hook you up with a car, he might know people, he might be able to get you a job, but you will not outwork me. And what you have to decide in your position, in the NCAA, you have to make a decision that nobody in this league in your position will out. outwork you. I will walk away with stuff I never heard before, books I've never read before, audios that I've never seen before, going to conferences that I've never gone, hanging out with people that I've never hung out with before. This is nothing, God, this is just a dessert.
Starting point is 00:07:27 There are those of you with phones, and every new phone that comes out, you get it, every upgrade you get it, every piece of software you get it. You are upgrading your technology and you've not upgraded yourself. Listen to me closely. When you get to the point, where enough is enough. When you get to the point where it hurt real bad, when you get to the point you can't take it no more When you get to that point, the doors start opening Opportunity start happening Listen to me very closely. It's our dream Nobody's gonna see it like you do it is your dream
Starting point is 00:07:58 Nobody's gonna feel it like you feel it is your dream Nobody's gonna be as dedicated to it as you are It's your dream and they don't have to understand and they don't have to like it and they don't have to do it It doesn't make a difference it's your dream And you, my friend, have been given the task to make it happen, and you can't let anything stop you from doing what you were called to do. When you are doing everything in your power to be the best makeup of yourself, it's always going to be an adversary that's going to try to take that away from you.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Now, the best way you can overcome this is having the faith. Now, it doesn't matter what you believe in, as long as it's something that's possible. positive that's going to get you through it. A lot of people don't have that ability to be strong. And I'm not talking about the physical aspect of strength. I'm literally talking about the mental and, of course, spiritual aspect of strength. Don't let pride confuse your tears. You got to let that out sometimes.
Starting point is 00:09:08 You got to let it go. When I lost my mom years ago, there was a hardest thing that I had to deal with. And to this day, I still. Think about that woman that gave me life. And I have my moments when I'm happy about the good times, but I also have my moments when she left this world. But that's just one thing. That's just one circumstance. There are many circumstances I can talk about.
Starting point is 00:09:32 But I continue to move on. Everybody gets knocked down. No matter how tough you think you are, you're going to fall. And when you fall, sometimes you fall real hard. But that ground is a hard surface. And I'm going to tell you something, it ain't going to move because you're laying on it. So you need to rise up and you need to rise above it and you need to start moving. When you get knocked down, how long are you going to stay down?
Starting point is 00:09:56 When you lose your job, when you lose that loved one, regardless if it's your husband, your wife, your child, whatever it is, do you have the ability to go through the hurt and the pain of that loss? Regardless of what you're going through, the best time you know that you are strong is when you're at the weakest point of your life. When you are so far down at hole, you're looking up and you don't see no light, but yet you know there's an end to this darkness. That's when you'll find out just how strong you really are. This is a process, and you have to hurt just a little bit so you can understand what it means to be strong.
Starting point is 00:10:35 So don't give up on your hopes. Don't give up on your dreams. Don't give up on yourself. Just keep moving forward. if you think that you're going through something so bad right now waiting until tomorrow if tomorrow comes for you look at the person next to you look at people all over the world if you ever come in contact with certain
Starting point is 00:11:00 individuals and ask yourself are they're going through a lot more than what I'm going through because honestly they're always going to be people that are going through a lot more than you're going through right now when you're down find a way to get up I've been there I go through it like anybody else. But I have a job to do in this world. And so do you.
Starting point is 00:11:24 I don't think confidence is something that you are born with. It's a skill set. And I had no confidence. So confidence is something I taught myself over the years. I started becoming okay with who I am. I became the best version of me. And then I sort of said, I'm okay. You know, I'm all right.
Starting point is 00:11:48 Even if someone else thinks this, I'm okay. And everyone can do that. People just don't realize it. So it made me understand that confidence truly is the key to getting ahead in life. If you believe in yourself, the world will believe in you. Because perception is reality. As soon as I started doing everything that I loved, there was a surge of power, a surge of confidence.
Starting point is 00:12:13 I wasn't insecure anymore because the emotion that had the most dominance in my thought, process was actually being paid attention to. I'm really sick of being insecure. I believe I'm enough. And I believe that everything I have that I need for life to make all my dreams come true, I know it's already inside of me. It's who you are and being comfortable with who you are
Starting point is 00:12:42 that influences other people to say, oh, OK, maybe I could do that. You can't wait for Destiny. No one can be that. You can't be like, oh, Destiny's going to knock on my door one day. No, it won't. You have to be able to recognize opportunities. Because there'll be a lot of them that come into your life. And once you recognize an opportunity, you have to seize the day and work bloody hard because there'll be 25 other people who want to do it.
Starting point is 00:13:11 The first step is belief, right? People think the belief comes once you've done it. You won't even take the first step if you don't believe that you can accomplish it. So we lead with belief as a species. So you have to find a way to believe in it to move. So your mom is giving you an awesome challenge. Can you believe in the face of her doubt? Right? And to me, when people doubt me, it's a gift. I love that because I believe in beauty and rage. And you need both. I need people to love me. I need to want beautiful things for myself and for others. I want to create something amazing. I want to help a lot of people. I also want to prove a lot of people wrong who don't think that I can do this. I want to crush the enemies that want to see me fail, that want to do anything they can to ensure that I fail.
Starting point is 00:13:59 I spend 80% of my time here and I spent 20% of my time here. And the irony is, as Darth Vader will tell you, there's power in the dark side. And once you learn to balance those, then you really get something interesting. And here's another way to say it. You have to know when to love yourself and know one to hate yourself. I think it's 80-20 again. You want to spend 80% of the time loving you and being proud of who you are no matter where you are. No matter what part of your journey you're in really loving that you're showing up, that you're playing,
Starting point is 00:14:28 maybe you're not yet satisfied with the level you're playing it, but no worries. Like you're there, you're doing it, you're showing up. And then 20% of the time being wildly disappointed by yourself, being horrified by the fact that you were so lazy and so afraid of being cold that you wouldn't get out of bed. Like that's terrifying. And that that's not acceptable. That's not a person that you're prepared to continue to be. And that you find that so disgusting in yourself that you're going to make an immediate change.
Starting point is 00:14:58 And if you don't do that, you'll never grow. You'll spend all your time over here to be pacified. Talk about being pacified by the dream. Merely having the dream, I want to do good things for people. If you heard a lot of people say that? Yeah, people say that all day. I want to do great things, but I want to help the world. In what way?
Starting point is 00:15:17 Like, they don't get specific. So they're pacified by the dream. So you've got this person is really not living up to their potential, being pacified by the vision of what they could do and who they could become. But they never, to your earlier point, they never find a path to execution. So I find without kicking myself in the ass, without being deeply dissatisfied with myself, 20% of the time, because if it's more than 20% of the time, you begin to erode yourself. And it gets very corrosive. You'll chip away at your own self-esteem, and that's a total waste.
Starting point is 00:15:47 But you do have to be willing to kick your ass. Mindset, so crucial in molding you for success. If you want it bad enough, that you're going to sit there and build it, the best. Half the greatness leads through having a powerful mindset. I develop the mindset in some of the darkest, loneliest nights, and some of the darkest, loneliest roads. In order to gain a positive outlook on life, you have to endure pain. You're going to have to go through hardship.
Starting point is 00:16:34 You're going to have to sacrifice. You're going to have to sacrifice friends. You can have to sacrifice families. You're going to have to sacrifice time in order to develop the most powerful tool on this planet, the most underutilized tool on this planet, a powerful mind. Now, if you really don't want what you ask me for, then you don't need to take the time to develop this mindset. But if you really seek out success, then you're going to allow, Your growth to grow exponentially through pain, through struggle, through hardship.
Starting point is 00:17:21 The time is now. There's no more time to waste. Stop sacrificing your success based off of poisonous people who tell you you can't do this, you can't do that because they're afraid. They're trying to throw their imperfections on you. You're not built that. way you are now built with weak values train like a champion mentality for training gym business and life all intertwined a lot of your lessons you learn can be
Starting point is 00:18:02 applied broadly and resonate with different readers of your life learn from anyone willing to teach success leaves clues when you speak make your words count I can't want it for you you have to want it for you have to want it for you yourself. Start your day with power. And know that you are enough. You are enough and you have what you need to succeed. You are enough. You're equipped for greatness. You're powerful beyond your greatest imagination. Your business, sports and life. You have to develop a championship mindset. What sets you apart from the pack? Once an obstacle confronts you, you're going to kick it down. You're going to overcome. You're going to rise.
Starting point is 00:18:48 You are a champion, a warrior. You must build a mindset for success that can endure pain and struggle because it will come. Your mindset will make or break you. Mindset matters. Anybody that tell you differently, don't have what it takes to be great. You can develop it. You can mold it. I want you to push whether you're or you're,
Starting point is 00:19:23 an all-American athlete, all-state, all-world, or all-nothing athlete. Whether you're the CEO, the CFO, or the janitor, or even jobless, don't allow anybody to confront you with their fears. No, not today. Not tomorrow, not ever. I am unstoppable. I have the mindset to succeed on the field. in the business world
Starting point is 00:20:00 in every arena of life it's time to value your health your passions not your mothers not your fathers your passions there is nothing that can stop me
Starting point is 00:20:13 not you not her not anybody because I am amazing I am great I am phenomenal so are you
Starting point is 00:20:24 so are you and we were 100% real, real, real, real, trueful, and honest, even though we don't like to admit it, man, we care so much about what people think about us. And if we're not careful, we find ourselves trying to meet the expectations of everybody else. And it's not wrong to have people have expectations on us. But at the end of the day, man, if you're only focusing on what you're supposed to be and what you're supposed to become, it's going to have all this anxiety attached to it because we fall short.
Starting point is 00:20:59 And I had to learn the hard way, man. We are all beautifully broken, somehow, some way. We've all got stuff. And it's not about you being perfect. And it's not about your performance all the time. It's about daily progress. Because nobody can judge you if you're applying yourself with your effort. You only know you.
Starting point is 00:21:18 And you can sell yourself short this year if you want to. And you can cut the corners if you want to. And you can do just enough to get by if you want to. But I promise you all, man, as you guys grow up and as you continue to mature, and as you look back in the rearview mirror of your life, If you don't take control and understand that this is your moment. And if you don't take control of this man, regrets, thoughts of, man, I wish I should have and I could have. And only what if they will come alive.
Starting point is 00:21:49 You're at a place and a space in all of your lives right now that you control your destiny and nobody can take it from you. And I want you to dream big and dream outlandish and set goals and benchmarks that seem sometime. even too far to attain. And I didn't realize it. But I developed these five habits in my heart and my mind that's changed my life. I call them the five. And it wasn't until about 18 months ago that I realized I had developed these attitudes and these characteristics and these habits that's helped me be 10 years sober.
Starting point is 00:22:28 That's helped me be 10 years since I've thought of it in my life. That's helped me be 10 years since I've self-harmed. It's helped me be 10 years since I had an eating disorder. That's helped me 10 years overcome depression, anxiety, all these issues. These habits that I've developed, and I've now recognized it was these things that I was intentional of wanting to be better at. It's changed my life. And I call them the five, and there's simply this.
Starting point is 00:22:51 I learn to be transparent. I learn to be accountable. I learned to work hard. I learned to make good choices. And I had to value people. Those five things will change your life forever. And those are five things for you to learn to do when you graduate college, when you, when you're often beginning your career and after your first mistake. Like these are five things right now as high school students.
Starting point is 00:23:17 You can begin to say, I want to develop on these each and every day. You see, when I talk about being transparent, transparency literally means see-through, I had to live a life that I understood something that if I wouldn't allow people to see my hurt. my pains and my struggles if I wouldn't live a life that was somewhat see-through also find the courage to talk about my hurts my struggles and my pain transparency really is this it's taking off the mask and the fake smiles and the fake faces and acting like you just don't care but being honest and truthful with somebody in your life that mentor that coach that trusted caring adult those best friends where you're willing to be transparent and speak up and speak out and understand that it's
Starting point is 00:24:10 okay to not be okay and it's okay to make mistakes but you have to own them a lot of us will talk about it but we're so afraid to take the steps called accountability where you allow people to speak into your life see accountability isn't you giving people permission to to hold you accountable and get you into trouble accountability is for you because you've all already decided. There's some areas in your life that you want to change. And change takes intentional choices to be different. Hard work works. You can't get around hard work, y'all. Our culture, let's be real. We're lazy, y'all. Be honest, it's so easy for us to jump on Google to find every answer to every question that we want. And at the end of the day, yep, you may get an A,
Starting point is 00:25:00 But not every A is an A. And this is what I'm saying by that. You can jump on there and you can cut the corners and you can make every little loophole and still get on the surface what looks like an A. But you didn't learn anything about life. Why would you rob yourself the ability to really grow in life? Not every A is an A. I don't care what you said. At the end of the day, you can't get around hard work.
Starting point is 00:25:27 And this is what's amazing about this world we live. in success it's not that difficult show the majority of the people don't really want to put in the work they don't want to pull up their sleeves and actually go after their dream we all like to talk about it we all like to post about it we all like to tell people about it but talk is cheap what you do is what you believe y'all sometimes you just have to believe in yourself nothing can be achieved until first it's believed you You have to believe it to see it. Sometimes the easiest way to get what you want is to just start.
Starting point is 00:26:11 To just take that first step. You can do and be anything that you want no matter what. No matter what you've been told and conditioned to think growing up, start from today to believe that you can. We know what we want but we don't do anything to actually go and get it. While you're standing around waiting, doubting yourself, telling yourself you're calling yourself can't have this and can't have that for whatever reason you're never gonna get it focus on how your life will be better and what your life will look like when you get
Starting point is 00:26:44 what you want greatness isn't achieved by that one massive thing you do it's those tiny little consistent baby steps we take every single day that add up to achieving that goal amazing things happen when you believe you have something your brain actively goes out to make it happen believe that you can do it and work hard to get it and it's yours. We're all born with the same amount of time in the day and anything that they can do, you can do too. If you want to do something bad enough, you can get it. You have an opportunity right now that you'll never have. People say why you grind so hard, E. I might not be the number one motivational speaker in the world
Starting point is 00:27:29 five years from now. I've got to get everything I can get right now, every book I can write. Listen to me, my school is being paid for by the athletic department. I'm hot right now. A real man in the dark when nobody's watching, he's putting in work. A real man, when coach ain't even watching, he's studying film on his own. Because he loves the process. Because real lions like the hunt. They love the process just as much as they love the prize.
Starting point is 00:28:05 And some of y'all just want to score. You don't like the process. You're not in love with the process. You just like to put the pads all you love when it's showtime. Everybody in the crowd, you're like, hey, hey, hey, mom, can you see? You can't even start until you know your people there. Once you see them, you're like, showtime. Day after day, half the day, grind after grind after grind, after grind,
Starting point is 00:28:31 airport after airport, driving mob after mile. E.T. aren't you tired? Yes, I might be. I don't know. E.T. aren't you ready to take a break? Yes, I might be, but listen to me. I can't. Why? Because I grind for Jayland. I grind for Jada.
Starting point is 00:28:46 I grind for Diti. I grind for my mother. Are you hearing what I'm telling you? I grind for Vanessa. I hustle for, so the days I want to hit that alarm clock, I think about my wife. I can't quit. My son, $25,000 a year. I can't stop.
Starting point is 00:29:01 He's counting on me. My daughter, I can't quit. I can't stop. I can get tired. I can't give up. I can't give in. My mama counting on me. My wife is counting on me.
Starting point is 00:29:15 Yeah, I might be different, but I am brilliant. Yep, I might be loud, but I am special. We can go from being homeless and high school dropouts to having PhDs writing books and becoming the voice of a generation. We can do whatever we believe we can do, and we don't need anybody's permission to do it with ours. I am phenomenal, and I don't owe anybody an apology. I am going to do great things, and I don't owe anybody an apology. I am. I was created to be great. I was created to do great things. I was created to have great things and I will no longer ask others for their permission. Three. One, two, three. One, two, three. Listen to me and I don't owe anybody in the apology.
