The amount of suffering that you understand,
the amount of pain that you've gone through
makes you appreciate the happiness
and the beautiful moments with much more intensity.
This whole thing about suffering, yeah, it sucks.
Really bad.
Really, really bad.
But we all live on this side of suffering.
On this side, this nice box that's very comfortable that we know when everything is going to happen.
We're in it. It's good. We know how everything's going to turn out.
It's those few people who are willing to go on this side of suffering.
And once they get through that, ask him how he feels now.
His mind, how far he grew.
In that short period of time, he grew so much more than the normal person
because he was willing to go outside himself.
Because on the other end of suffering is greatness.
We're built to walk uphill.
And when you reach the pinnacle of the hill,
you want to stop and appreciate the vision.
But the next thing you want is a higher hill in the distance
because it's the uphill climb that it's from the uphill climb
that we derive our value.
And I mean this technically.
So almost all the positive emotion we feel.
that's experienced in relationship to a goal.
And so in some sense, you want a goal that you can never attain, right?
So you can always move closer to the goal that recedes as you move towards it.
You think, well, that's frustrating.
It's like Sisyphus pushing the rock uphill.
But it's not because as you pursue that goal, you put yourself together,
and your life does get better and richer and more abundant.
You want them to be above everything you're doing,
so you can continually move towards something that's more sublime and better.
That's what you are.
You're here to live, not to, not to sleep.
Because you wouldn't have prayed like you pray had you not been hurt.
You wouldn't love like you love had you not been hurt
because you know what it's like to hate somebody.
So you refuse to go down that path.
Feelings has nothing to do with it.
This is my dream.
This is what I'm going to do.
And I'm going to do the things that I'm going to do the things that I'm,
I don't feel like doing.
I'm going to do the things I don't want to do.
I'm going to do the things that don't come easy to me,
that do not come natural to me.
I'm going to get up and do it.
You can't live your life on feelings.
You cannot let your feelings dictate what you are
or are not going to do today.
Don't get that fire inside,
but make it happen out there.
I'll say you go to the fire in here.
Leaving it all here,
expecting it all out there.
That's how it works.
When you leave it all here, guys,
you then have the right to reflect it all out there.
It doesn't work the other way around.
You can't half-ass here and expect anything but a half-ass luck out there.
You know, it doesn't get easy, my friend.
Running 12 plus miles a day,
doing 800 plus push-up today,
lifting weights every single day,
working two jobs,
working out of my comfort zone at the club,
but it's worth it.
Because if you think it's about fitness, you're wrong.
If you think it's about the money, you're wrong.
Because it all goes back to one point.
One important point, my friend.
I'm waiting for the mentality.
The mentality to keep going no matter what happens.
Nothing should be easy.
If it's easy, it's not going to be worth doing.
So many people love to have the opportunity to find the easy way out
and celebrate something that they never really worked hard to get.
It gives you an opportunity to appreciate the challenges more, the letdowns, the failures.
It gives you more ammunition so when you do eventually get to where you want to be,
just in case that moment comes and you get knocked back down,
you understand what it feels like and you know you're not going to stay down for very long
because you know what that ground feels like.
His life is relentless.
You better keep coming back from all your failures, all your doubts, all your shit.
You better keep fighting, keep getting up.
Never fucking lay down for shit.
That's one thing we should all agree on.
If you've been broken once, you know how that feels.
That means try and break me again.
One thing in life, suffering has no exploration date.
It don't give if you're black, white, poor, rich, where you come from, how you were raised.
It will keep coming after you.
Stay home.
It hurts.
When we've lifted these weights and we're trying to accomplish a goal, it hurts.
It's painful.
It's daunting.
It's cumbersome.
I don't want to do it.
I'm sweating.
I'm bleeding.
I'm crying.
I'm suffering.
But after I've suffered, there is a reward.
So we spent too much time thinking about how bad it hurts instead of how good the future will be after the pain.
And so after the blood, after the sweat, after the tears, after I've cried, all I'm going to cry, I want to need to pay to my advantage.
At what age should you have everything together?
For us, normal people, it takes time.
Because not only do you have to mature and grow, there's things in life that if you have a big enough,
dream, you're not the person you need to be right now to fulfill that dream. Now, you keep moving
towards it. You keep doing what needs to be done. But at the same time, you realize that you yourself
are gaining in knowledge and in experience and in personal growth. Do you still struggle with
all of the shit that you talk about? Oh, my God.
Like, yes.
That's why I'm so fucking relatable.
I do not have this stuff figured out.
I am shoulder to shoulder with everybody.
They look and see, and then I quit to adjudge your ability.
But they weren't there.
They weren't there through the struggle.
They weren't there through the sleepless nights.
They weren't there through the pain.
They weren't there through the trauma.
They weren't there through the tears.
They weren't there to pick up.
you up. You did that. So what gives them the right? What gives them the right to judge you?
They don't know your ability, my friend. They don't know what you're capable of. They don't know
what you can do. So you find a way to push through. You find a way to keep going because nobody
can tell you anything when you're the one who dragged yourself out the dark. When you're the one
who dragged yourself back into the light, my friend, they have no business in your business.
so you keep going
we all gonna go through it
we all have to go through it
including myself
I'm gonna tell you something
when you are doing everything
in your power
to be the best makeup of yourself
it's always gonna be an adversary
that's gonna try to take that away from you
now the best way you can
overcome this
is having the faith
now it doesn't matter what you believe in
As long as it's something that's positive, that's going to get you through it.
Imagine if you can use pain as a fuel.
Imagine if you can use the pain as a passport.
Imagine if you can use the pain to push you, to condition you, to prepare you for the stages
and the rooms you've got to walk into and the tables you've got to sit at and the stages
you have to stand on.
What if the pain can make you better?
What if the pain could build muscle?
What if the pain can cause you to reach higher to leap further?
To run faster, what if the pain could help you?
What if all pain isn't hurt, but it's help?
I'm sick right now, my friends.
That can't stop the grind.
In a world where everybody is self-comfortable and lazy,
why don't you be the one to get on top of them?
Why don't you be the one to take on the tariff?
Why don't you be the one to never give up?
Why don't you be the one to never stop?
Why don't you be the one?
If you just try to be pampered, and if you're trying to be soft,
and if you're trying to be the victim and yourself, you're not going to go anywhere.
We need to get stronger.
The thing about transformation is you have to do it.
You've got to put in the work when nobody cares.
You know, nobody cared.
if I practiced.
Nobody cared if I worked out.
If you want to transform,
you have to do the work if nobody cares.
There's only one person who has to care.
That's you.
What's the least amount of sleep you played a game off?
It's your sleep.
It's like, you know, kids,
Natalia had a certain, you know, health situation,
what have you, and you're staying up all night,
and then you got to go out and perform
because fans don't know.
You know, teammates don't know, nor do they care, nor should they, that you've been up all night.
You've got to perform, right?
And so you just got to go to work, man.
That's respect.
That's it.
So why?
You just sit back and you wait for somebody to pat you on the shoulder and say it's okay.
At least you gave it your best.
Your best ain't good enough.
Your best don't work.
You need to go beyond your best.
You need to go beyond the level.
You need to let the world know that you exist.
You need to let the world know that you may.
different. You're built different. You're stronger. You're more passionate. You believe in yourself
when the rest of the world shut you down. You woke up the next day and you said, I got this,
I do this, I breathe this, I am this. You can't stop me for who I am, what I am, who I am and what I
stand for. You don't belong in this world. You don't belong in my world of life. You don't belong in
my world of person. You don't belong in my world of passion. You don't belong in my world of strength.
You know why? Because you ain't strong enough. You're not willing enough. You're not passionate enough.
And you know why I'm so passionate? Because the rest of the world don't understand my passion.
The other world don't want my passion. They think my passion is too much. I'm going to give you a little bit more.
You know why? Because passion is what makes me who I am today.
I think you're stronger than that. And I think you're capable of much, much more.
So bring it out. Bring it out every single day that you live on this earth.
Bring it out every single day that you open your eyes.
Bring it out every single day.
Bring out the best version of yourself, my friend,
because we still have work to do.
As an opportunity, you gave me an opportunity to reinvent myself.
You gave me an opportunity to come out of my crave that you put me in.
You left me for dead.
I'm coming out alive.
I'm coming out kicking.
I'm coming out swinging.
You left me and thought I wouldn't overcome.
You forgot about me.
You let go and thought I couldn't survive.
But I'm here.
Come on.
Get it.
17.
They don't know me, son.
Get it.
18.
They don't know me, son.
Get it.
19.
Yeah.
20, you got some more.
Yeah.
21.
Yeah.
Get again.
Come on.
We want to see it.
You're up too old.
What's the story?
Are you not happy or you're only half happy?
Instead of it.
You're up too old.
Job's not finished.
Job finished?
I don't think so.
Nobody cares about you is something that was never made clear to me.
And I mean that in the most positive, optimistic, inspiring, motivating way.
Like, I think that, especially if you see yourself as a creative or you want to exist on YouTube or as a filmmaker or a musician or as an artist or a painter, any of those things.
It's like you think that everybody's paying attention.
And because of that, it kind of controls how you think.
And even when I was young and fearless and nothing to lose,
I was still so cognizant of like, how are people going to react to this?
And what's the best way to do?
Like, I was so aware.
And the reality is nobody gives a shit.
Everybody is so focused on themselves in this world.
Nobody has time for you.
And the sooner you accept that as a creative person,
the sooner you're free.
Like, you're totally free.
I do exactly what feels right to you.
Wake up!
Your authenticity!
Step into your intelligence and your brilliance.
Release your gift.
God has given you something great.
Release it.
What?
Work!
Work!
Work!
What?
...ag to success.
You don't just get it overnight.
You got to earn it the right way.
And you got to have a little bit of patience.
but it takes tired.
And sometimes that patient runs out.
You don't feel like you got it anymore.
You don't feel like you're worthy of it.
You don't feel like you want to be here.
You think what I'm saying right now doesn't even matter?
I owe me.
So many people get upset with me when I talk about nobody cares about your feelings.
There's injustice.
But there's injustice for everybody.
For some people, it's worked because I've pushed to them that nobody cares.
Nobody cares about your problems
because they have their own problems
and that's work for some people
like literally some people have emailed me
and they're like my life has changed
because you pounded to me
that nobody gives a fuck
nobody cares
so I was like fuck
if that's true
the hell am I complaining for
and all of a sudden I stopped complaining
and all of a sudden
good shit started happening
so that works
the other thing that I think works
the most
the most
I think people have to drop
people in their lives
you need to work harder
you have to suffer a little bit
you have to put yourself
in a state of discomfort.
Growth shouldn't be easy.
Stop looking for shortcuts.
Stop looking to make things a breeze.
You've got to learn to suffer.
You've got to put yourself in a bit of an uncomfortable position.
And if you can do that, then the results that have alluded you,
you'll start to see them.
This is where people win or lose.
Folks, can you tell me what your hardest working day of the year was?
Scream out the amount of hours you worked on the hardest working day.
They say it on three.
Hang on, get that number in your head.
Your hardest working day of the year.
You ready?
On three, everybody.
One, two, three.
Okay, great.
Your hardest working day.
You ready?
Nobody cares about your hardest working day.
What helps you win is your bottom 100 worst working days.
Don't brag about the day you work so hard.
I care about your bottom 100.
That's where you lose.
And that's where you win.
I know this is something you've never done before.
And I know that you're fractured.
And I know that it's cold.
And I know that you're broken, and I know that you're weary, and I know that you're tired,
and I know that you're confused.
But on the other side of the cold, on the other side of the suffering, on the other side of the crawling,
and the walking, and the crushing, there is purpose, there is destiny, on the other side.
But are you courageous enough to step in the uncharted territory, to discipline,
here for 30 days. I know it's cold, but are you courageous enough to step away, that you have
the faith enough? Are you daring enough? Are you bold enough? Are you radical enough in your hunger
and your thirst to go after what it is that you believe is yours? Are you crazy enough?
Goodbye negativity. Goodbye gossip and drama. And those people hurting me. This is my life.
So today, you start ready to change the world.
Your gifts, your inventions, your passions, ready for a new beginning.
You need to love pain.
And I know no pain, no this, whatever, all the, you know, the, oh my, no, this is real.
You need to love pain.
However, mentally, physically love it.
You need to love it.
If not, stay where you are.
2008 was brutal.
Yeah, 2008.
We had the third consecutive failure of the Falcon rocket for SpaceX.
Tesla almost went bankrupt.
We closed our financing round 6 p.m. Christmas Eve.
Why is no one else doing these things?
What's your pain threshold?
It's real high.
Imagine if you could use pain as a fuel.
Imagine if you could use the plane as a passport.
Imagine if you could use the pain to push you, to condition you,
to prepare you for the state.
and the rooms you've got to walk into and the tables you've got to sit at and the stages you have to stand on what if the pain can make you better what if the pain could build muscle what if the pain could cause you to reach higher to leap farther to run faster what if the pain could help you what if all pain isn't hurt but it's help it's like going to work like you go to work and put your student tie on i go into suffering every day every day suffering being
broken duct tape my feet up stress fractures shin splints being broken this is my new
norm and your mind says if we're not broken this ain't normal we gotta be broken
so then your mind starts to get tougher and tougher pain is temporary it may
last for a minute or an hour or a day or even a year but eventually it will
subside and something else will take its place if I quit however it will last
forever it really hurts doesn't it you're in a lot of pain your spirit it feels
broken you feel like you don't have anything left to give oh yeah I know it
hurts you feel so empty you feel lost you have so much despair you have so much
despair but I'm here to let you know ladies and gentlemen that hurt that you're
feeling right now it's only temporary but it's absolutely necessary every
success in life guides is masked by temporary pain everything in life that's
worthwhile that's worthwhile to you in life is wrapped in pain give me more
be more opposition
me more pain. That's the stuff that turns us into champions. The only way you're going to get
strength in your life is if you go through that hard moment, that tough moment. I wouldn't have a
story if it wasn't for the sucky times in my life. I wouldn't have a story if it wasn't for
me going through my depressed moment. So realize this. Just because it's a chapter, it doesn't
mean it's your whole story. So for me, I just understand that it's very important to embrace pain
to go through it because I believe the foundation of all strength is pain.
See the pain as a stage.
See the pain as a plane.
See the pain as an opportunity.
You gave me an opportunity to reinvent myself.
You gave me an opportunity to come out of my grave that you put me in.
You left me for dead.
I'm coming out alive.
I'm coming out kicking.
I'm coming out swinging.
You left me.
I thought I wouldn't overcome.
Pick up your damn cross and stumble up the hill.
That's your job, right?
And the cross is the X, where everyone is located.
You're right at the center of reality.
You're suffering and dying and being reborn all the time at the center of reality as you transform.
And you have to accept that and embrace it.
Embrace loneliness.
A lot of individuals are surrounded by losers that are dragging them down because they don't understand how to be alone.
And it's usually because they are terrified of themselves.
They don't like the thoughts in their head.
They don't understand how to be with themselves.
They don't understand how to be with their own company,
so they surround themselves with people that are toxic for this situation.
If I would have just embrace that loneliness even more,
I would have seen success even faster.
The next time you want to just give in to that desire for comfort,
remember that your future self is going to be the one to suffer the consequences.
It's so easy to just put it off and act like it doesn't exist.
But that future self that you're passing all these burdens to
will one day be yourself of the present.
and you'll wish you chose to do otherwise.
I know you think it's painful to work this hard,
but let me tell you something, it's painful to fail.
I know you think it's painful to have to study this long,
but it's also painful to not graduate,
and you got to decide today
that I want the pain of success
more than I want the pain of failure.
Come on.
Did you hear what I just said?
You got to decide.
When the excuses all go away and people can actually confront the fact that this is all because of me
and this is, it hurts, but is also unbelievably empowering because if these problems are because
of me, then I'm capable of fixing these problems.
So even though extreme ownership hurts and is painful, it's also liberating because now you have control over your fate and over your destiny, and that is a glorious thing.
Do you know what separates those who achieve their dreams from those who don't?
It's not always talent.
It's not always time.
And it's not luck.
It's resilience, persistence, and the courage.
to keep showing up, especially when it's easier to quit.
The amount of pleasure that you will eventually experience is directly related to how much pain
you experience. A good life is a progressive expansion of the things that bring you pleasure
and includes pleasure through motivation and hard work. And understanding this pain,
pleasure balance whereby if you experience pain and you can continue to be in that friction
and exert effort, the rewards are that much greater when they arrive. I've got to look my
in a mirror every single day and I'm either going to allow the pain to eat me alive
I'm going to allow the pain to fuel because the pain can either be your prison or
your passport the choice is yours use the pain to your advantage play the pain like
the musician plays the piano push through the pain understand that the pain is a
necessary tool don't look at it that
a bad thing. Look at it as a learning experience. I'm not talking about the pain that's going
to make you feel like you're dying. I'm talking about the pain that's going to make you feel
alive, that you have meaning, that you have purpose. Get out to it. Embrace the pain.
I started feeling victory just by putting myself in the battle. It wasn't about going to Navy
still training. It wasn't about being the 23rd guy in that chair. I started realizing, man,
just by going to war with myself every day and putting these challenges and these goals and these
obstacles, these insurmountable obstacles. Your pain, but stronger. Find you so. I have to go through
something to get to the next level. You have to find a way. You must find a way to get back up.
this is not the end for you.
You will not quit.
Behind that pain is a understanding that I don't have this skill.
Or is an understanding of, I didn't try hard enough,
or is an understanding of, oh, maybe there's just another option.
Because guess what?
Sometimes you may have done the best pitch in the world,
and you just had an executive that didn't like your vibe.
Keep going.
Keep asking different people.
Keep going.
Like, you know, you've just got to realize that there's one, there's a, there's a, you have to engage that pain in discovery and that eases it.
Pain is inevitable and it is unavoidable.
You cannot live without pain.
How you navigate that pain will determine how you propel into your purpose, how you advance in the marketplace and everything else you've been called to do.
Pain.
To all of you watching here, come close to the screen and listen.
People don't have to like you.
People don't have to love you.
They don't even have to respect you.
But when you look in the mirror, you better love what you see.
You better love what you see.
Be uncomfortable.
Get yourself in a situation when you feel a little bit about a challenge.
You're feeling something about being challenged.
You're understanding that.
The challenges are good for you.
Challenges are going to make you better, going to make you stronger, going to push you through any adversity that you may face and life.
But nobody's coming to see you.
There's no night and shining armor.
And the people that say they will, they don't really stick around for long.
The reality is this.
This whole life thing was never really meant to be about anyone else.
You're kind of supposed to be the hero of this story.
Even if you feel weak right now, even if you feel alone, you feel down, you feel like you can't do it.
You can't.
and you will. All you have to do show up. So, show up today.
You have the power to do more than you can ever begin to imagine. Don't underestimate yourself.
You don't know enough about yourself to become a cynic. And so you've got to challenge yourself
to access that power that you have within you. You're more than a conqueror.
I'm amazing when you don't think I'm amazing.
I love me even if you stop loving me.
You can say the nastiest, meanest, evilest shit that you could ever conjure up.
It will never change the way I feel about myself.
It takes faith to jump off of the edge.
It takes faith to step into your purpose.
It takes faith to step into your destiny.
It takes fight to pull away from everything that is familiar.
to step into uncharted territory to become the person you were born to be and takes faith.
This is my time.
This is my time.
I'm bright enough.
I'm old enough.
I'm young enough.
I've experienced enough.
I'm wise enough.
I understand that I am enough.
Discipline is.
self love if you want to be happy you have to love yourself I love me independent of
anything that anybody could ever say has nothing to do with being arrogant and egotistical
it's just a matter of knowing and being aware of self-worth I love you if you make it
to the end of this video I want you to write self-love is the cure to self-hate self-love
is the cure to self-hate you matter right there's always going to be somebody that cares
about you and you're a good person no matter what people say you matter i love me so the day that you
decide to stop loving me i'm not going to love myself any less i believe in me if you stop
believing in me i'm not going to believe in myself any less you know as crazy as it sounds
one decision can completely change your life so what are you waiting for i wouldn't change what
happen to me. And that's the God's honest truth. If any one of you had a superhero ability where
you could send me back in time and give me a do-over, I wouldn't accept it. I would gladly relive
everything I have been through, provided I had this outcome. Because who I am now and what I offer
the world, I wouldn't want to give that to avoid going through those dark days of the pain I went
I think it was all worth it to turn me into who I am now.
I think we look down now to 16-year-olds and say, where are you going to go to college?
What are you going to do for the rest of your life?
And it's like, they're not fully baked yet.
How do they know?
Give them a break.
Just say, look, I think after high school, take a year off, take two years off, join the Peace Corps, travel, go figure things.
out or just enjoy yourself for the first time in their lives they're adults and
they don't have to be somewhere they're not told to be somewhere like I tell
people all the time we all got to go through something to get something that we
want in life things may not always go to where you want it to go but I promise
you if you continue to focus on the positive rather than the negatives you will
be all right it's tough sometimes it gets tough every day but we got to make it
no matter what it is no matter what you're going through just think about
for a second. Somebody did not wake up this morning, but you did. I always say this to people often.
You are above ground. Why are you above ground? Because there's purpose within you. There's purpose for you.
There's opportunity for you. You feel like you're missing out on all the fun. Me too. Everyone else has more
friends. Everyone else does the fun stuff on the weekends. Everyone else gets all the attention.
We're missing out on a lot and it doesn't end there. We're missing out on the endless search for
acceptance from an empty source.
Missing out on the constant need to mask the reality of who we are.
Missing out on the acting like everything is okay and shutting down when the crowd is gone.
So yeah, we're missing out.
But I think that's just fine for now.
My life is like I'm running from a pack of starving rolls.
If I slow down at all, I will be eaten alive.
Like I have one choice and it's to keep going.
as fast as I can, but I'll be torn to pieces.
And that's what it felt like, and I love that.
Like, that sounds like negative and dark, but like, I love that.
It was such like a motivation.
No, you see, it's impossible.
Plus, your name, you name who can pronounce Schwarzen Schnitzel or something like that.
No one can pronounce it, so forget about it, Arnold.
This is the kind of thing that I heard.
Imagine.
You go from studio executive to studio executive from agent to agent,
for manager to manager and they all said exactly the same thing.
That's very encouraging, isn't it?
But you know something?
I didn't give a shit.
I didn't.
Because I believed that I can be a leading man.
I believe that I could be another King of Eastwood or another Bert Reynolds.
I believed that I could be those people.
I said there's enough room on that ladder.
that I can fit up there.
And I look back again and learn from what I learned in sports.
It's all about the hard work that you put in.
You get to redesign.
You are your Michael Angelo.
You are your greatest sculpture.
And you get to recarve and you get to up-level as much as you need.
You're not sentenced to this life this way.
You chose it.
