The link is in the description.
A lot of people wait for perfect conditions to start.
Don't realize that starting is the perfect condition.
I hated the job as a Navy SEAL,
but I did it because I wanted to change myself.
Everything I do, I'm not really comfortable doing.
But if you choose to go that route, to go be a Navy SEAL,
You might as well go be the hardest motherfucker in the world.
But everybody don't get up every morning and run.
Everybody don't go to the gym every morning.
And everybody don't have enough discipline to wait in the locker room for two hours or three hours.
Then go in the ring and do what they've been taught all those years in the gym.
And so that's what separates the champion.
I'm a mediocre fighter.
Going through the shit, which is honestly the boring stuff that no one wants to do for an extended period of time.
and accepting that you suck and that it is okay because the first step is
accepting that you suck so that you can do the second step which is doing
something about it you can't talk it all the time you gotta walk it commit to
one day try it see how it feels getting up that fucking early when everyone else is
asleep or it's that cold when everybody else says no this is not comfortable
we shouldn't do this you say yes motherfucker I'm gonna introduce myself to it I'm
just trying to tell you the truth which is the internet's here it's a complete
grab. There's unlimited opportunity. Nobody cares where you started. Nobody's stopping you.
There's nobody that's got to take your resume. There's no grades that matter. None of it.
What matters is, are you willing to hustle and how bad do you want it? And are you willing to live a
life where you're not letting other people judge you? So then you're not pantering to it.
How do you not suffer from imposter syndrome? I was like, because I've done what I said I've done.
and the people who get up on stage and try and teach a class and shit they haven't done.
It's like that, like you feel like an imposter when you're an imposter.
Like don't try and kill that voice, listen to that voice,
and get the evidence to make that voice shut the fuck up.
I chose this world to be a warrior,
and I would choose it again if I came back to this world.
But the mentality of a warrior is very different than normal mentality.
You must be that person on that door, get ready to open it, thinking to yourself,
If I die, so be it.
I mean, isn't about time you do that?
Isn't about time you become that person you knew you always could be?
How do you do that?
You break the fucking mold, guys.
I stopped by to ask you, are you willing?
Are you willing to do what you've never done before?
Say what you've never said before.
So you can be the man, the woman you've always known yourself to be.
So you've got to learn how to get up when everybody's sleeping.
You only have 24 hours in a day.
You got to learn to manage the time that is.
given to you. You're going to lose sleep. You'll doubt whether it'll work. You'll stress to make ends meet.
You won't finish your to do list. You'll wonder whether you made the right call and have no way to know
for yours. This is what hard feels like and that's okay. Everything worth doing is hard.
And the more worth doing it is, the harder it is. The greater the payoff, the greater the hardship.
If it's hard, good. It means no one else will do it. More for you.
You get the fuck out of bed when it's cold, when it's early.
You do something away from the normality of what you've been doing.
That's psychotic behavior.
Doing the same thing, expecting a different result.
It doesn't work the way.
You must switch up the mainframe.
Switch it up if you want a different result, man.
Why not try it, man?
Shock the system.
Start with an earthquake, man.
What I mean by that is, yeah, get up and fool in the fucking morning one day.
Just one day and go for a fucking run.
Commit to one day and see how you feel.
If you're going to be somebody, then you're going to learn how to have to sacrifice your time.
You can't have the future.
And you don't know how to wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning, 4 o'clock in the morning, 5 o'clock in the morning.
You can't have the future.
You will not be able to manifest if you're sleeping when the world sleeps.
Before I knew, I had to get disciplined.
So my question for anybody to get to that next level, what are you willing to sacrifice?
What are you willing to give up?
Who are you willing to stop hanging around?
You know what?
I spent a lot of time drinking and hanging out with my boys.
I had to give that up.
And while they were at the nightclub, while they were at the bar drinking, I got into the stadium.
I stole the key from the manager.
And at midnight, I would get shots up.
At midnight, I would work on my game.
And that's the kind of passion.
That's the kind of commitment it takes to get to that next level.
So as a training and development person, my first question is to make sure what are you willing to give up?
The next question becomes, what does it take to do it?
And then am I willing to do what it takes?
Yeah.
That's it because it's a lot.
It's a lot.
But here's the thing.
I believe if you think about it, it is only because somewhere inside of you, you have what it takes.
Now, capacity is there.
Williness is something totally different.
You say it and you just have to do it.
It just not, it's not going to come to you.
If you're going to say it, you have to follow it with your actions.
And you have to manifest it with how much do you want it?
And is it within your story?
spirit that once you have it, can you hold it, can you keep it?
All the things that I was, I failed and I went back, I failed and I went back and I
finally succeeded, all the things that kicked my ass, I put them all in the cookie jar
because at times of hell, even the hardest men in times of suffering, what we do is
we forget how hard we really are because that's what suffering is.
Suffering is a test, it's all it is.
Suffering is the true test of life.
We need to go to find that motivation, but keep the
fight alive. When you're down that path and all you're seeing is rejection and adversity and demise.
How to continue that path when the monkey on your back feels like a 500-pound gorilla,
weighing you down, how do you put one foot in front of the other, continue the journey and endeavor
of life and cross that finish line when you're feeling fatigued and weak.
That'll be a spark that keeps you going on that journey when that gorilla is on top of you
to ensure you get through that finish.
We have this idea, I call it the fallacy of the perfect pick, but thinking that you're going to have this one shot, this one pick of this one opportunity, this one podcast, this one whatever, that's going to take you all the way.
But it's the habit of biting that takes you all the way, not where you choose to bite the first time.
And I obviously now have a huge history of this, and you do too.
which is we have learned to just bite and know that our teeth will get stronger and we will learn how to chomp down along the way.
And waiting to begin never got anyone anywhere.
The person who goes to the gym every single day, regardless of how they feel, will always beat the person who goes to the gym when they feel like going to the gym.
What I love about that quote is it's just this anchoring philosophy of yes,
being the hardest workers in the room, but also probably more importantly than that, is just this
idea of pushing past the fatigue and us doing the daily consistent shit that we don't feel like
doing. Fuck, I don't want to work out at midnight. My babies are going to be up in five hours,
but I know when I don't want to work out at midnight, well, that's when I have to work out
at midnight. I'm glad I did. I came in here, pushed myself, pushed past the fatigue. But more
importantly than the physicality part, I think, is just being able to come in here, set the edge
the psychological edge and just recalibrate from a long day.
Think about what I'm doing tomorrow, what I want to do the next week, month, year, etc.
So I would highly recommend to you guys of doing the daily consistent shit that you don't want to do.
Push past it because there's so many people who aren't willing to do it at all.
Just get up.
Move towards that challenge, whatever that challenge is.
Move towards that challenge and go attack it.
And guess what?
I had to get up even though it was hard and I had to take ownership of my own.
my life, take ownership of my time, take ownership of my day.
What I have found is that when you take that kind of action, that kind of step of following your gut and your intuition,
taking that step, whatever it is, the universe has a funny way of meeting you halfway.
The winners fail a million times.
What makes them a winner is that they believe in it, they're head strong.
Nothing's going to stop them.
The spectators have tried it and failed it and remain sitting down.
They don't get up anymore.
because they don't believe it enough.
The naysayers just believe overrides their ability,
potential and mental capacity that they can't be more than that.
When the rest of the world shut you down,
you woke up the next day and you said,
I got this, I do this, I breathe this, I am this, you can't stop me.
Like, I'm gonna be the baddest mother for walking.
Man up, stop crying.
The decisions you make right now is up to you.
You crying about something that happened to you when you was a guy.
that happened to you when you was a kid you ain't even no kid no more you're a grown man take
full ownership the stupid stuff you're doing your parents that make you play no video games
and what you cried about so what your daddy wasn't there what you crying about you ain't 10
no more man up so i had to learn to man up very quickly and i think that was an edge because
that to learn how to make money i had to learn how to make friends i have to learn how to fight
I had to learn how to defend myself.
I had to learn how to defend my family.
When our backs against the wall, you have the instinct
to want to protect your family.
You see, all the instincts are in here.
It's pulling those instincts out.
And sometimes to pull out the right instincts
require some travesty or crisis or challenges to go through.
So human up.
Get up and get on it.
Because the weak will struggle.
Success is reserved for those that are the strongest.
And so every time I would need to pull
a trigger on something and there was resistance and reluctance, those five words, it's time
to man up and then I would do it.
And you need to have the courage to follow through.
Quit half-assing yourself.
Every time I've risen the standards, people have made me feel guilty that maybe I'm raising
you too high.
Maybe I'm too tough on my guys.
Maybe I'm too edgy.
And I expect everybody to step up and man up and woman up.
Maybe I'm a little too demanding.
Maybe I shouldn't raise my standards to this level.
Don't let them confuse you.
You keep raising the standard.
And guess what?
I had to get up even though it was hard,
and I had to take ownership of my life,
take ownership of my time, take ownership of my day.
Sometimes, man, we really gotta teach ourselves
how to be a man.
Along that journey, we'll bump our head
and then learn a lesson.
You know, dig deep and do it.
what you have to do. It's time to man up and become a man.
Just how do you look? How do you approach it? How do you deal with it? How do you admit it and see it for
what it is? And then what do you do about it? What do you do about it? You cry about it,
you mope about it, you drink about it, you sleep around about it, you get mad and getting
fights about it, you just hang around, just turn the world out.
You're a zombie about it.
You fry yourself a marijuana about it.
Say, Dwayne, I'm sad.
Dude, that's a part of life.
You think you're the only man on this planet?
That's sad?
Say, Dwayne, I'm going through depression.
Well, welcome to the world.
Welcome to the rest of us.
If you look at the stats around suicidality in the UK,
the thing that's most likely to kill someone
between the age of like 18 and 40 years themselves for a man.
Do we really not know
what it is to be a good man.
And I would go so far as to say to be a good human being, right?
Because take responsibility for what you're doing.
Take ownership of your world.
Take ownership of your life.
Go try and accomplish something that's hard.
You may win.
You may lose.
You may succeed.
You may fail.
I'll tell you what, you'll be better.
If you avoid those things that are hard,
if you don't accept that challenge,
if you don't step up and step into that cold water,
and you sit on your couch
and eat Doritos, I can tell you, this is not a good move. This is not a good move. Don't do that.
Don't do that. Just get up. Move towards that challenge, whatever that challenge is.
Move towards that challenge and go attack it.
It's wake up. Stop sleeping on yourself. Step into your authenticity. Step into your intelligence
and your brilliance. Release your gift. God has given you something great. Release it.
to the earth whatever that goal is whatever that insurmountable feet has been
whether there's weight loss financial mindset relational I don't care what it is
career to be a CEO or an investor whatever it is you did it done this is not the
year you're sleeping yourself there's nothing gonna stop me if you didn't make me
you can't break if you didn't make the sun come up you can't stop me if you didn't
make the moon shine at night you can't stop my purpose my will my dedication my
motivation is all about doing the business because guess what ladies and
gentlemen that's what I'm about that business I'm about that life what are you
man up stop crying my teacher don't like you why maybe you disrespectful why
don't say she don't like you go look in the mirror and take full ownership
why does she not like me you're watching LeBron make his dreams become a reality
you're watching the black mumba make his dreams become right if you put the
same time LeBron put in and I started studying and I realized there was an African
American male I needed to get a master's degree in a PhD in order to do what I'm
doing and guess what I had to get up even though it was hard and I had to take
ownership of my life take ownership of my time take ownership of my day change
change happens when the pain of staying the same becomes greater than the pain of
making a change like if you are angry use it if you are sad use it
Because like, what else he going to do with it?
Like, you might as well let it help you.
Like, or it uses you.
There's a moment when every boy realizes no one's coming to save him.
And that's when he becomes a man.
And some boys never get there and stay children forever.
No one's effing coming to save you.
No one's going to make you better at your business.
No one is going to get you to be a better persuader of people or a framer of people other than,
you. There's a lot of grown men and women that are still boys and girls because they think
someone else is coming to change their life. The only thing that's valuable guys is how you see
yourself in the mirror. How do you look at your shadow of life and are you happy walking next to it?
No one's coming. No one's coming everyone. No one. Nobody is coming to take responsibility
for your dreams. Nobody is coming and going to get that project done.
that you've been thinking about doing.
No one is coming to grow your business,
to heal your pain, to improve your marriage,
or to make more money for you.
It is up to you.
It has always been up to you.
Your life is your responsibility.
So what?
You slip up.
You fall down.
Big deal!
That doesn't mean you stop.
Do you give up or do you keep coming?
No one else forgives you, learn to forget
Give yourself. Hold yourself up. When everybody else says, no, you say yes.
It's time to take ownership. You want your clothes watch. Mama, make the boy wash his clothes.
Teach him how to separate the colors from the white. Mama, let your boy cook. Teach him out of cook.
Let him take ownership. Make him go grocery shopping. He said, well, he'll not a cook like me. Give him at least a day then.
Them two days.
Take ownership, teach them how to change the oil, make them put gas in the car, ownership.
I love my daughter the light, but when we go, when we go to the gas station, my baby girl,
get out, my baby girl, get out and pump the gas.
Somebody said, why you make your, why you make your queen to be, why you make her, why
you make her pump gas?
Because I need to teach her one day, I might die on this plane and she need to know how to
put the gas in the car.
I just know when people go all in on the thing they love,
magical things start to happen.
Maybe it doesn't happen right away, but magical things start to happen.
It's almost like, what if you obsessed and went all in on these things?
What could you create?
We're running at 40% most of us, you know, because we're half in and half out.
And it's not surprising because life is difficult.
It's like, well, what if you were 90% in or 95% in or all in?
Because you're all in anyways, right?
It's a life and death game.
No one gets out of this.
Everyone dies.
You might as well commit yourself.
We all live in our bubble.
My therapist calls it the lifeboat.
We all live in our lifeboat, right?
But we're all on the same ocean.
So depending on how good your lifeboat is, you will weather the storm whatnot.
Because if you're not willing to go in there and face yourself, I can find anything.
You can live right here on surface, man, right here on surface.
Don't half acid.
Boy, that never goes out of style, does it?
I mean, think about it, if you're gonna do something, if you've chosen to do something, whatever, it's easy heart.
If you give it your all and you don't have acid, win, lose, draw, get what you want, don't get what you want, whatever the outcome is.
If you don't half ass it, at least you're not going to have to wonder, ooh, would the outcome have been different?
I feel like we spend too much of our lives waiting on life to happen.
Sometimes we need to start being in a life instead of trying to see it.
This is my belief when you go all in on something and you truly believe in your heart,
that this is what you're meant to do, and you let go of something, you're like,
but I don't want to lose this because what if they're going to be a great partner in the future?
What if they're going a great parent?
Well, they show these qualities that maybe they could work out from me.
As opposed to, no, going all in on the thing that you know you're meant to do.
So it's today the day, right?
The biggest fear they have is making a mistake.
They don't want to be seen stupid.
They don't want to lose status as a result of this decision.
And so when we're dealing with that, it's making them understand that you don't need time to make a decision.
You need information.
But so many people are stuck in that same spot for why they're not taking action, whether it's selling a product or selling themselves.
Don't you get it?
Through all the bumps in the road and the stormy weather, the heart of a champion they can never measure.
That's why you have to be all in.
So there is an ending to this world, and there is somewhere to go.
judgment you're gonna get there you might see a chart and that chart may tell you who the
you should have been and now you get the rest of your life to think about that man i could
live a much better life if i just would have just suffered a little bit more if i just would
have went in that and realized i had so much more but fear in the 40 percent and living here
versus living here being afraid stop me
I struggle.
So that's the language I'm great at.
So if I can break down things into a struggle language, now I make it the game winnable for everybody.
And that's the goal, to make the game winnable for everybody who's bold enough to step into the batting cage.
If you bold enough to do that?
I was bold enough to jump in a goddamn 152-foot tank with sharks in Dubai.
If you're bold enough to do it, there's an experience that comes from that.
And that experience is so exhilarated, it will take you to the next.
because now you keep chasing the next level of you and that is when you start understanding life
at a whole other concept when you start understanding that yo for the longest i was just low level
living i was low level thinking there's going to be days when you're aching and tired and sore
and there's people in your family that are sick and you're cynical and bitter and you need a reason
to get up and you think yeah well a little more heaven and a little less hell maybe i can pull that
off today and tomorrow and next week and that's worth struggling forward for.
Let's play this out, right? It's not going to go the way you think it's going to go.
Because if you keep repeating this habit you're going to end up five years from now,
you're going to look at your life the same way you're looking at now and hating it.
But I just want to remind everybody that I didn't make a video to the world about anything about business until I was 35 years old.
I'm very excited about this. I plan on doing this four to five times a week.
We're looking to put the video up about four or five p.m. There's a whole lot of talking going to
on. How about more action? Have more execution. Have a more paying prices for what your mouth
is saying. That is what I hope you do. Give more. Go all in. Be all in. Don't you get it?
The victory is already yours. You just got to claim it. You just got to stake it. You just
got to bring it into life. And you cannot bring it into life if you're going halfway.
In order to get something we've never had, we need to do things we've never done.
In order to get something we've never had, we need to do things we've never done.
Right now, if you don't like your physique and you want a better one,
what you are currently doing is not going to get it for you.
You can't keep sleeping in and doing the same day after day,
or you're going to look the same for the rest of your life.
If you want that supercar, but you're in a job right now that can't afford the supercar,
You need to get out of it.
In order to get things we've never had, we need to do things we've never done.
You've got to switch it up.
Oftentimes, it feels like it is possible and insurmountable feet to get past a beating.
But as long as I can feel it, I'm not in the state of paralysis.
If you can feel it, you can move it.
So I ask you the question.
Sometimes I have to look myself in here and ask myself, that only why?
Come on, you prepare, you can dis-dispair, you can dis-it.
You've been beaten, you've been better, you've been walking, you've been left and dead, but there's more because you're breathing and you feel it.
So if you can feel it, you can push you so much past.
The truth of the matter is, that's not all you have.
There's more left in you.
Be all in.
Or be forgotten.
Be all in.
I be a nobody.
Be all in.
I be somebody that has absolutely no opportunity to leave a legacy on this world.
Be all in.
or be somebody that nobody respects, be all in, or be somebody that leaves this earth with regrets.
I said to myself, who on this earth would still be going right now?
You are.
You are.
I believed it.
I believe it today.
I believed it enough to where my body said, he's not going to stop.
I took all the negative things
I need to go to the hospital this and that
and I used all who the hell could even get on that chair
you did
who the hell would even think about
taping stretch fractures up
you did
all those things I used for motivation
you're gonna do this okay fine
that's all I needed
that's all I needed for him to do that
and it became personal with me
for me anger was good
anger was good because it was motivated
The more I could create an enemy, the more I wanted to go on and kill those guys.
I've been listening to them laugh my whole career.
An Irishman win a fight in the UFC, hell no, laugh, laughs, laughs all around.
Hell no, he's all talk, he's all hype, he's a joke.
The sound of laughter and the sound of doubt motivates me.
I saw you celebrate my lousses like I wasn't going to win again.
You gotta want to be successful so bad that you forget to eat.
That's how bad you gotta want.
I'm just wondering if you are booed enough.
If you are bold enough, daring enough, if you can believe in your dream again, if you can get committed, if you can make it personal.
It's personal.
Because it's about you.
It's personal.
It's personal.
It's personal.
It's personal.
It's personal.
It's personal.
It's personal.
As I talk to Cuts, and Cuts talk to me over and over and over again, over and over and over again, every night and every night for hours and hours.
I just never had to worry about nobody ever bullying me again.
because I know that will kill them.
You've got to create a lot of different emotion
to height your sense of awareness and focus.
It's about you ultimately actively moving through your emotions
rather than being stopped by them towards a goal.
I think when change hits and it's personal,
that's when the perspective shift comes.
Get into something that's really personal.
It means something to you.
I think that's the key to what we do.
It's got to be personal.
It's up to you.
Carry on. Remember you owe you something. Continue to believe that. We all have desires and dreams.
Make your dream a reality. I'm talking concrete commitment. The commitment that says,
can I stay true to what I said I would do long after the mood that I've said it has left.
See, when you get personal, can you make it personal? Everything changes.
Don't make it personal. What a joke.
It has been personal.
When week after week I'm choked up fighting back tears with every sentence.
It's personal.
I have waited my whole life.
I will wait no more.
That's why they say many are called for you're chosen.
It's about you have a vision of possibility for yourself that has to do with being great.
Because I'm gonna make it personal.
Because it's always been personal.
to me. Be the guy who embraces the ugly, the miserable. Be the guy who embraces
hard work, the grind. Don't be afraid of being hurt. Don't be afraid of sacrifice to some
blood. And some moments in life, the decisions you make on a moment to moment basis
that add up to be the guy or not the guy. Tonight I did something, you know, that I feel more
of a guy for me, who I am, my guy.
Make the hard decisions, make the sacrifices, make the unpopular decisions, and become comfortable
in your own skin.
And if you are not a person that you are comfortable being alone with, that is the one person
in this universe that you have full power, full right, and full responsibility to change.
If you were to create a human, what would you put them through to make them tough?
it probably wouldn't be a really chill life.
What would you put them through to make them patient?
You probably wouldn't give them things immediately.
And so it's like we want these trades,
but each of the traits has a price tag attached to it.
And it's just like, do you want to pay the price tag to get the thing?
And so I think if people reframe the period of life that they're going through
as the price that they're paying out of their wallet,
but the wallet is their time,
as the seconds of life that they're trading for it,
then I think more people will be willing to make the trade.
Because at least when I look at myself,
like when I'm 80-something years old,
and looking back in my life, I want to have these traits.
But in order to have those traits, I know I have to go through these things.
And I think for me, that's given me a lot of comfort in hard times.
Right now in life, your family is looking for that one guy right now.
You're looking for that one guy who's strong, who's that pillar for the family in hard times.
Make sure they look around, they look around and find you.
These are the times right now for you to step up.
Be that guy that can take anything.
Stay hard.
The next time you want to just give in to that desire for comfort,
remember that your future self is going to be the one to suffer the consequences.
It's so easy to just put it off and act like it doesn't exist.
But that future self that you're passing all these burdens to
will one day be yourself of the present,
and you'll wish you chose to do otherwise.
Everything that you do, the biggest mistake that people make
is they think that only what they want to count counts.
No.
When you read a book, when you listen,
an audio program when you go to a course when you go to bed early and get up early and you work
it all counts never fucking apologize for being yourself if people don't like how you act how you look
how you speak that just means those aren't your people don't change who you are to match your
surroundings pick better fucking surroundings and be yourself yeah i don't know most men would
understand that when a man cries and he's went right he's hurting you know because i've been there
men it's okay to cry we can still be a man but you're also human and it does
show a little bit of your vulnerability do it for your loved ones do it for your
wife do it for your husband do it for your children do it for generations to come
come on after you're dead and gone what will they say about what you did yes
there's so many people depending on you but it's got to start with you and the
man upstairs if you want to be great oh man prepare to get up off
that meant you're gonna get knocked down over and over and over and even when you feel like no
nobody I can't be hit this hard or if you're down there thinking it's no way I can get up from this
that's when you're just starting for some strange reason this world wants to see you water down
the reality of who you are our society wants to see you think like everyone
else and feel just like those around you.
Maybe for somebody who's so distracted from their true desires as a person that doesn't sound
so bad.
But the pain of seeing through limitation and full absence of distractions is almost unbearable.
You see, it hurts because the resistance wants you to give in.
and mold to what's expected of you.
And if I can provide some advice,
don't.
I don't know where you are in your game of life.
You may be in your third quarter.
You may be in your fourth quarter.
Come on, you're not going to live forever, not in this world.
Come on.
You may be in your first quarter, your second half,
and this time it's got to be personal.
See, last time you were just running through the plays,
last time you were just running the songs that you rehearsed in rehearsal.
in rehearsal. Last time, you were just going through the motions and you got numb. Come on,
and you got tired and weary. And now you're broken and bitter and angry because you lost.
And I'm just wondering if you're courageous enough, bold enough, if you have enough faith,
come on, if you have enough inside of you, resilience to come back to the sea.
His life is relentless. You better keep coming back from all your failures, all your doubts,
all your shit. You better keep.
Keep fighting, keep getting up.
Never fucking lay down for shit.
That's one thing we should all agree on.
If you've been broken once, you know how that shit feels.
That means fucking try and break me again.
Well, I think working class guys, the whole bloody world rests on their shoulders.
It really matters if they do a good job.
And so a lot of working class guys come to my shows and they say,
look, I've been listening to your lectures while I'm doing long-haul trucking
or while I'm working in my forklift, whatever, I think, great, man, get the hell out of it.
Do your job properly.
Do it.
You bet, and do it right.
Support your family.
Man the hell up.
Live a responsible life.
And what you're doing is valuable.
I don't care what anyone else has to say about it.
You got a lot of people playing their hard on money to come watch you perform.
It's your job to be in shape.
It's your job to be strong enough to perform at that level every single night.
And as a competitor, I'm not, I'm not ducking.
Like, it's not, oh my God, my back hurts, I'm sore.
We got to play Vince Carter and Toronto Raptors tonight.
Pick your mountain.
Whatever that mountain is.
And each journey of the mountain is a million steps.
And each day you have to take that step.
Yeah.
Each day you take that step.
You look up at the mountain, you say,
that's where I want to go.
And then each next day you take your step over and over and over again.
Let yourself go.
Fall free into it.
Step into it.
You are worthy.
You are an unrepeatable miracle.
And there is none like you in all the earth.
There will never be another year.
another you, your DMA, your fingerprint, come on, your gait, your presence, your authenticity, come
on, you're special, you're special and you're necessary. Everything was done to try to learn how to
become a better basketball player. Everything, everything. And so when you have that point of view,
then literally the world becomes your library to help you to become better at your craft.
I'm realizing that I have to daily show up for myself if I want my life to be what I want
right right it is a battle and not only that but it's like you have to um you have to have to have
some sort of a plan when i used to be a little bit more aimless i was just like oh i want things to be
good it wasn't enough i was not always this strong guy you see um i went through a lot of hard
times in my life to get here today what i wanted to be was an uncommon man in my whole life i was not that
Much worse than that.
I know what it takes to be a combat soldier,
and I used to look for courage.
I thought courage was a man who won the Medal of Honor.
It is.
But courage is a man who's going to put those boots on every single day of his life
to go out there and fight for this country,
where nobody even knows what the hell they're doing or where the hell they're at.
There is something poetic about a 39-year-old man winning new artists of the year.
I don't know where you're at in your life or what you're going through.
or what you're going through.
But I want to tell you to keep going, baby.
I want to tell you success is on the other side of it.
I want to tell you it's going to be okay.
I want to tell you that the wind's sailed in figure because what's in front of you is so much more
important than what's behind you.
Let's party, NASA!
I'm the best ever.
There's no one that can match me.
I'm the most brutal and vicious and most ruthless champion that's ever been.
They're going to fear me.
You have to be the champion before you become the champion, so that means lifestyle.
Have to be in before you become him.
You gotta be him before you become him.
That's how it starts.
You look at somebody, I wanna be like him.
You don't say, hey, I'm a bad moose.
I wanna fight everybody out here,
nobody's gonna kick my ass.
You see somebody and say, hey, I might wanna do that.
Well, greatness is when you make your delusions, your reality.
Nothing's impossible for somebody who's gonna try.
If you're gonna try, it's capable of being done.
But you'd fight Dyson Fury.
I fight a line if the price is right.
My whole objective is your total surrender, your total domination.
I'm going to destroy you.
That's why Rogan said when he watched you, you were intimidated.
Your rage is a very unique rage.
So that's therefore to be intimidated.
I realize my scare you for something you worked for.
I respect a person who's willing to die for what he truly wants.
Ali had the will of win like nobody to ever live in boxing.
He believes he projected to his opponent.
Really look at how does Ali beat George Foreman?
How does Ali be Sonny listening?
How do you beat these guys?
How did he beat Joe Frazier?
Fighting the way he fights.
He beat them because he refused to lose.
But we have to believe that we're divine
and that we learn from our experience
because confidence breeds success
and success breeds confidence.
They go hand-to-hand.
Do you have to know who you are first?
You know you.
I know who I am.
People with everything greats all the time you this, you that.
I know who I am without self-love you're nothing.
Because self-love is discipline.
And discipline is doing what you hate to do, but do it like we love it.
I never wanted to be obscure.
I was born in obscurity and I never wanted to deal with that again.
I'm invincible. I'm a savage. I'm ferocious.
I'm the smartest savage.
I know I wasn't going to die before I became champ.
When this is over, everybody's going to know my name.
Did you ever fight someone?
that you were like that they got you?
Was there every kid that got you or no?
Absolutely.
In order to be good, you have to lose it and understand loss.
Because loss is life.
Adversity makes the strong stronger or the weak weaker?
13, what happens next?
So, you get arrested.
And I see Muhammad Ali come to visit the institution that I'm in.
You said you're in jail and Ali shows up?
I'm 12 years old and Ali comes there and they showed the movie
the greatest first, so this is 77.
And after the movie, the other lights come up and Ali comes to.
I don't know, and I see him.
I want to be just like him.
I don't know how to have him the spirit of me.
Boom, I want to be like him.
And then I get transferred to this other facility,
you know, for real bad kids.
I met a gentleman there that was a boxer.
He used to teach me how to box.
So he took me into a great training
named custom model, and that's why I'm here.
I respected Ali and I worship Ali.
Yeah, this is the moment I know I wanted to be a fighter.
Unfreaking believable.
Yeah.
So your inspiration happened at 12th.
yourself.
Yeah.
Then you meet Cuss.
Yes.
How is Cuss treating you?
What was his way of leading you?
Yes, a degree of just peeling all that dirt and stuff, that insecurity and developing into character.
And that's why I had a wonderful time with him, because everything about, everything about
his life is about me.
This world is one big school and a way of the students of this world.
The mind is always hungry.
The mind wants to do good, but we get so many negative thoughts in our minds almost overwhelming to be positive.
I've been down and up, down and up, broken up.
And why am I still here?
Because life is going to give everybody a bad hand.
No one's going to leave here without being tried in life.
So inspiration.
So is that what got you to be willing to be disciplined to get what you want, like to become a champion?
At 14 years ago, I'm willing to do everything it takes to be a champion?
Absolutely. And then I had Cuss over there telling me why should he have it?
That's one day I never had in my life being, because I always got picked on him.
I never had jealousy or enviness about anything.
And Cuss possessed that.
You know, and he was telling me, why should he have all that money and you don't?
Why do you believe that he's better than you?
Why do you think he should have all that money and you don't?
And he was really serious about it.
And that's what the competition shit.
That's it right thing, breathing that stuff right in.
Why should he have it?
He's not better than you.
How did you handle that when he told you that, 14?
Would it piss you off?
Were you like, I'm gonna go train to whoop his ass?
No, I'm gonna get there one day?
What was your response to it?
He said one day, this guy knew how to really get in my head.
He said, man, you're fighting good,
but I wish you were bigger.
He said, I wish you were like Kenny Norton,
Mike Wheeler, because they had big body
and they could intimidate somebody.
And that hurt myself, I said,
I make sure the whole world will be afraid of me.
He trained me to be totally.
ferocious in the ring and out.
Yeah, and that's what I was.
That's what I was.
Push yourself more.
You push yourself when you,
sometimes you have to submit to yourself.
I'm doing that with Dan.
First day in the morning,
three in the morning,
you do your four miles, come back in.
Three in the morning.
Yeah.
You four miles come back in, do your body exercise and all that stuff.
After that, after eat breakfast,
go to the school, come back from school,
Come back from school, eat mine.
Then I go back to the gym at 6 o'clock, train,
come back at 8 o'clock, watch fights, start all over again.
Everybody here's gonna fight for what they love for.
Even they never had a fist fighting their life,
they're gonna fight.
Listen, once I'm involved with something,
I wanna know at the beginning,
and I wanna know what came from, how it started,
who's the first guy that invented it.
That's just how my mind works.
How could these guys even dare fight you?
How dare you even think that you're gonna?
to be me. And you sound like a mathematician when you're talking about the art of boxing.
I was born for it.
There's nothing I would do unless I have a possibility of being humiliated.
Because when I succeed, I truly succeed.
I was bred to climb high and high into the sky and tumbled down.
I am truly grateful that I found my wings before I hit the ground.
I don't care how good you are in anything. You don't have discipline.
You ain't nobody.
Because you give up a slight struggle without discipline.
You hate to do, but do it like you love it.
You might not know this now, but you're just close,
igniting your inner champion and reclaiming your destiny.
It's just that I want to be up,
want anybody in the planet want me to be down.
Be champion before you become champion.
Wanting to get the best out of yourself,
not competing with anyone else, but you.
We don't back down from anyone.
And that's what got me in trouble.
I don't play games.
I don't kiss anyone's ass.
And I'm a real man.
And that's why I, regardless of being in a fight, anything, I'm a man.
And that's why I want to be a man.
And if I die, I want to die, man.
And when you really focus, you hear everything.
When I come to the ring, I notice everybody
can hear you breathing.
I can hear you talking.
I hear everything.
I have supreme confidence.
I'm scared to death.
I'm totally afraid.
I'm afraid of everything.
I'm afraid of everything.
I'm afraid of being humiliated, but I'm totally confident.
Closer I get to the ring, more confidence I get.
The closer, more confidence I get, the closer more confidence I get.
But as close I get to the ring, I'm more confident.
Once I'm in the ring, I'm a god.
No one can beat me.
You know no one who's not.
I will know my name till the end of time.
I'm a savage.
That's who I was.
I didn't want nothing to like got something.
And when I said something, I mean the crown.
You knew from the beginning the world was going to know who Mike Tyson was.
going to know who Mike Tyson was.
100% yeah.
At what age did you know that?
14.
Why is that?
Because I was beating everybody at 14.
More than my skills, I had the mindset.
To kill, destroy, break them down.
It's just, I'm the greatest.
You know, success is all about a lifestyle.
I live a lifestyle as a champion at 14.
And in order to be the champion,
you have to live a lifestyle as a champ.
It's all about discipline doing what you hate to do but doing it like you love it.
That's what it's all about.
If you don't have discipline, I don't care. I'm skill for you.
You're nothing.
You don't want to be the best ever.
Why are you here?
Confidence breeds success and success breeds confident.
It's all about the belief that you can do it.
Belief is more powerful than anything.
Only thing we can do is just have that focus and believe in ourselves
and believe that I want to be up, then anybody in the world wants me to be down.
And it's all about what, like I said before, self-belief.
My whole success is from belief.
I just believe in me.
The truth will set you free, but it's going to make you miserable first.
And that's how we improve as a person and proving ourselves.
You have to first have the aptitude to do what you claim you want to do.
And if you have that and the determination and the will to win,
There's nothing that you can't do.
Possible is nothing compared to anybody that tries.
Nothing's impossible then.
Confidence breeds success.
Success breeds confidence.
And confidence applied properly with superseded genius.
Life is just a circle.
They're going to hate me again one day.
And then God willing, they're going to respect me again one day.
Because in order to be a master, you have to first be a fool, I guess.
You have to believe in yourself before you believe in anything.
Nothing else, Garvey living, you have to believe in you.
And once you believe in you and have a relationship with you,
it's nothing that you can't do.
Success is in front of you.
We choose to go to the moon.
In the lonely chapter, you decide which way you will come.
Demands more thought.
The lonely chapter can be defined oftentimes as a season where you, with yourself.
Business, noise, and pleasure.
And the question is,
temporary pleasures for long-term purposes.
This is the sign of success.
It is the sign of a man sacrifices.
The lonely chapter.
He must embrace the lonely chapter.
Every man's life.
A moment of clarity.
One of us to manifest more, we must become more.
And this requires.
us to withdraw ourselves, certain moments and seasons and chapters at a time, to find ourselves
or to rediscover ourselves or to reinvent ourselves. When was the last time you sat alone
with your thoughts and silence? You went for a walk, a bus ride, a train ride, a trip away in the mountains,
a hike down a trail, to rediscover yourself, to find who is to real you?
There are seasons in our lives that summon us to go deeper.
The question is, can you detach yourself from every disempowering, limiting belief,
from every lid, from every label, from every limitation?
from everything you've made a crutch.
Can you resist what has been irresistible?
The false dopamine that you have so heavily relied on.
Cancel the membership?
End the subscription.
Can you step out of the toxic relationship?
Proximity.
We want attention.
We want availability.
We want the presence of people who are draining us.
Ask yourself this question. Pull in your lives, fountains, brains, give to you this juncture. Nothing else matters. I gotta disappear. I got work to do.
There is a chapter that is on the horizon where you withdraw yourself from every distraction, all artificial significance and noise. And you find yourself.
This is the place where every aspiration has a voice.
And every dream grows wings.
Dreams and the stillness of the night.
Somewhere inside of you, there is a spark of possibilities.
The person you desire to be.
The person that you desire to see.
Salitude is the corridor.
It's the trail.
When I get along with myself, I get alone with myself.
forget alone with my thoughts I realize I've made solitude a monster masquerading in my life as a
constant reminder that I am not enough when the truth is solitude is a gift solitude is a bridge
a gateway a path out of the simulation of artificial significance it's amazing to me
Now we build these lives of simulations, these imitative representations of reality.
We construct these lives of artificial significance, busyness, distraction, noise, emails, text
messages, DMs, and a cloud of people that call themselves our friends but are only with us
when we are winning and they don't even know who we really are.
the moment that we go through a losing season, they're gone.
They will abandon us.
When I could get alone with myself, I can step into identity.
Most people don't have what it is that they desire, because they really don't know what they
want.
They don't know what they need, and they don't know who they are.
When I can get alone with myself and my thoughts, I can plan tomorrow today.
I can journal, I can walk, I can work out, I can get in touch with my strengths and my weaknesses,
I can identify where I'm winning, where I'm losing, where I need to improve, how I can step up.
I can schedule my priorities, I can manage my energy, I can scrupulously investigate and evaluate
where is my life and where will it be in the next five years.
When people see me, what do I want them to think?
How will I be remembered?
What will I accomplish?
What will I become?
How can I get to this place that I've never been before?
It is possible to do this when the chapter of being alone is no longer seen as lonely,
but we see it as beauty, brilliance, wisdom.
You know, sometimes being alone is about protecting your peace.
It's about understanding that peace is like a crown jewel.
It's finding that quiet space to find myself and begin to deconstruct and begin to unlearn some things and relearn some things.
You've got to get serious about your peace and your future.
I've got to find what I've been called to do.
I've got to discover my purpose.
Make that difference.
Make the connections.
Create something, build something, and then go back and help the people.
that were lost with me.
And so that alone time is that time to reflect and recharge
and to imagine bold, courageous, more intentional, more dialed in.
Some of the strongest souls, innovators, pioneers,
captains of industry, CEOs, entrepreneurs,
game changers, city shifters, world changers,
World changers have emerged out of suffering and solitude.
As you step into this chapter alone, my question to you is, be terrified of dying until you have won some small victory for humanity.
I don't know if I can do this.
The Achilles were like the kiss of death, athletes.
I don't know.
If I can do this, you gotta set the example.
This is another obstacle.
This obstacle cannot define me.
It's not gonna cripple me.
It's not gonna be responsible for me stepping away
for the game that I love.
I'm gonna step away on my own terms.
And that's when the decision was made that, you know what?
I'm doing it.
Doing it.
You're a freaking beast, man, hey.
Get back in the ring again.
Don't get out of the ring.
Get back right into it.
It's right in that moment, you know, when you're just like on sales, if you got a rejection, go back out again.
Somebody says, no, go out immediately.
The price you will pay for not winning is infinitely greater the rest of your life than the price you will ever pay to win.
But you're negotiating it too often.
You're vacillating.
It takes your energy.
It strips your focus.
For most people, their will to win is for sale.
For most people with enough failure, enough setbacks, enough adversity.
you can buy them. They will relent. They will sell their dream. They'll sell their kids. They'll sell their future.
You need to love pain. However, mentally, physically, love it. You need to love it. If not, stay where you are.
There's more in you. There's more in you. My content creators, my entrepreneurs, my musicians, come on, my keynote speakers, my captains of industries, my CEOs.
From the captain to the cashier, there is more in you.
Stay at home father, stay at home mother, lawyer, doctor, hygienist, author.
I don't know who you are, where you're from, but there's more in you.
You may be hurting.
Maybe dying on the inside.
What you still got left to live?
I used to say it all the time, why me, why me, why me?
And all of a sudden that conversation changed it.
Yeah, fuck yeah.
Like, why not me?
You know what, my friend.
I think you're stronger than that.
And I think you're capable of much, much more.
So bring it out.
Bring it out every single day that you live on this earth.
Bring it out every single day that you open your eyes.
Bring it out every single day.
Bring out the best pleasure of yourself, my friend.
Because you still have work to do.
You have greatness within you.
You have the ability to do more than you.
you can ever begin to imagine. See, I believe that anybody through observation and practice can
perform at the level of excellence. But when you're pursuing your greatness, this is worth writing
down, you don't know what your limits are and you act like you don't have any. So I say to you,
you have something special. You have greatness within you. When you figure this out on your own,
the amount of pride and dignity and self-respect you have.
That's why I walk around the streets with a backpack and just like, I don't need anything else.
You figure it out by going inside yourself, by callousing over the victim's mentality.
You're always a victim, even if you have everything in life until you realize what you've achieved.
Make a plan.
Look at what you're interested in.
Get disciplined about something.
Allow for the possibility that you have something important to contribute to the world and that the world would be a lesser place without that contribution.
Don't be afraid of taking on responsibility.
It's where you find what sustains you in your life.
We're here to get stronger.
In order to get stronger, we must fail, accept that, know that, that who we are right now is not who we are, but where we are.
We're going forward with the belief.
Our belief, guys, drives this work out.
Believe in the difference you can be.
Stop being average when your potential is trying to come outside to be more than that.
That burn you feel, man.
You gotta earn that burn.
That pain.
That means check you did it right.
Continue to do that.
Nothing's in your way, man.
You're a kid again with everything as a possibility.
Two forms of pain.
Pain that breaks you and the pain that changes you.
That's the pain of a change right there.
That's the pain of progress.
How many people do you have to have?
that you allow to be in your circle that can say painful things to you that you may not like to hear.
And then once you hear them, are you willing to accept it?
I've been lucky enough to have people in my life like that.
And I make sure I try to stay surrounded with those people.
You can choose to be a fan and a spectator for the rest of your life.
But you know deep down inside, you want to be in the arena, in the fight, in the war, in the battle,
with everybody else watching you in it, competing, fighting, throwing stuff at you, bullying you,
Go for it. You can do it. You suck. You're terrible. You're the worst I've ever seen. But you're in the arena
At least you have the guts to roll up your sleeves and go out there and fight
See that's the juice. That's the juice of life. You just got to make the jump or not. It's like swimming either jump in the pool and you go or you don't the end
Don't care what other people think. It's the only reason you're scared
Yeah, whether it's your spouse your partner your child your mother you whoever it is eliminate those voices and
Listen to yourself and know that if you fail, you go back into it and nothing bad will happen.
But if you win, it's the greatest shit that ever happened.
Push through the pain.
I know it hurts.
I know you're feeling it.
I know it doesn't feel as good as you would like it to be.
But the pain is a necessary tool for you to get through life.
Whatever challenges that you are facing right now at this moment and brace it and carry on.
fight through it and carry on pain it's good for you he's gonna definitely do exactly what it needs to do
and much more but it won't kill you just make it better life my friends it's the test of your
grit your determination things get tough and trust me it will you gotta remember one thing
it's not how hard you hit it's how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward you see
Rocky Bob Boa he said that these words stuck with him because life ain't just about the victories
it's about the battles you fought to get there it's about the failures the echo of the
that didn't have the perseverance to keep chasing the dreams that they want.
So they told you to stop chasing yours.
You can take on too much responsibility.
You have to be cautious in that regard, but that's a less common problem than not taking on enough.
A lot of the things that people regard as traps are actually the means to their life.
