When I think about how hard I want to work,
the interesting thing about that is that the only person
who can judge you on your success is you
because you're the only one who knows
how much left in the tank you really had.
You matter how hard I trained,
no matter how ready I was.
Whenever something got tough for me,
the real David Gagons would come out and he would quit.
So I realized this over a period of time.
I had to build
Goggins.
And in that process,
that's where I get better.
When you half asked something you just don't know,
whether you failed or succeeded,
got what you want or didn't get what you want,
finding out and looking in the mirror and going,
I didn't half ass it.
I went all the way.
I found out.
And that ain't for me.
Or I found out, and you damn right, that is for me.
That's a great place to get to.
Do not settle.
Do not think that where you are and what you see is all you will ever have.
There is more.
But change doesn't always come to you.
It comes from you.
Not everybody's going to believe in you.
There are going to come times where you're going to be broken all to pieces.
And you're going to feel like you cannot get it all together.
You can't seem to bring your life back on track.
But get that mess out of your ears and listen to the words that I'm saying.
You can put your life back together again.
You have the faith.
You have the strength.
You have the knowledge.
You have the ability.
Now go to work and do your business.
And I just want to ask anybody listening to me, why not you?
Why not you?
Why can't you be the person that changes everything?
The innovator, the trailblazer, the disruptor, the person that makes a decision that I will not be the weakest link in the chain of a dynasty.
How much time do you think you have left?
Don't live your life as if you're going to go on forever.
You don't have to start over.
Start up today.
I'm here to tell you that once you get started, you can't stop until you get there.
I'm telling you, when you get in the boat, you make a commitment.
It doesn't matter if the gale comes.
It doesn't matter if the winds and the waves come.
It doesn't matter if the storm come.
Just keep rolling.
Am I willing to see it, dream it, count up the cost, and then pay the price?
Most of us are not willing to pay that price.
I like to think about it as this.
you can be two things at once.
You can be jealous of somebody
and you can also allow that to inspire you at the same time.
You can be afraid, which is true,
and you can still find the willpower to push yourself
or discipline to push yourself forward.
Human beings are very complex
and when you start to understand you're not just one thing,
it gives you freedom to ride the waves of feelings,
to ride the waves of experience,
and to kind of go down and go,
oh, this is a terrible thing,
and know that you will be able to come out the other side of it.
Every single good thing that happens in our lives,
everything comes at a cost.
There's nothing for free.
Somebody with an incredible career has no relationship with their kids.
Everything comes at a cost.
But at the same time, everything we struggle with has opportunity and lesson that goes with it.
It's always balanced.
And when something horrible happens in someone's life where something goes sideways, I always ask,
but what did you learn?
Life is about the pain of being alive.
And when you know that, I find that very helpful to me.
When I come back to that, I'm like, I'm struggling, I'm disappointed here.
I wish this outcome had been different.
But when I can come back to like, oh, but that's what life's all about.
So what do I do now?
You breathe it, you experience it, and then you move on, and you heal in the dealing.
got to learn to be more resilient about these things because that is life. It's not a,
it's on a bed of roses. Life is tough. And there's just a part of you, I think, at anything you're
doing when you're struggling, is this really for me? Is this my destiny? Should I be doing this?
And we misread failure from some sign, you know, is this a sign I shouldn't be doing it?
You know, is this a sign I am, you know, not cut out for this? Instead of looking for signs that you
can win, right? And so I spent the first five years literally trying to find.
ways to quit trying to find ways to get out struggling struggling and struggling and
I went broke I lost a car I had the water turned off in my place I people don't
realize that there were just years and years of of grinding and struggling and
worrying in the beginning and then then I made some mental changes and some
shifts yeah that altered my life then again I think you can win I'm positive
you can win you just need to start changing your mindset it means that you
need to look at yourself and figure out who you are
What are you good at? What do you like? How are you going to get to the place that you want to get to?
Success is waiting for you. Winning is waiting for you. Achievement is waiting for you because you are a winner. You are focused. You are determined. You are a fighter.
One of the hardest things, which became one of the greatest realizations, is truly coming face to face with myself and realizing that even though I have,
done extraordinary things in terms of my own thinking patterns, that there was a level to which
I was still on the run, that I was darting off to a coffee shop or darting off to an airplane.
And all of this racing around kept me from having to truly stop and stand with the woman in the
mirror and just be still and figure out what do I really...
You're a person, you're human, you're alive, and you matter.
You get to face a lot of shit, young man.
You got a long journey ahead of you
because you're going to find out
that while your dad did a lot of shit to you,
you're going to have to make it on your own.
Because this world we live in is tough.
It's tough. It will beat you down.
The world in the life that we live in is the ultimate competitor.
The world's tough.
The world's tough.
It will try to take you out.
It will find your weakness
and it will just hammer you.
So it's time to get back to work.
Get back to work.
Stop hearing yourself talk.
Get off the podcast.
Don't be on social media too much.
Cut out all the fucking noise.
Get back to the fucking mental lab.
Because that's where the knowledge came from.
You need to get to a point in your life where there's nothing can hurt you because you
know exactly who you are.
You've faced your demons.
You were able to hear all your past traumas.
You were able to listen to them.
you're able to say okay now I can now talk to people about what I went to I'm no longer
embarrassed I'm no longer ashamed being ashamed is one of the biggest things that kill people
nowadays in their minds kill them from moving forward I'm ashamed of myself don't ever be ashamed
of anything you've done in your life face it fix it make it better everything I need is in my
mental lab everything because I'm in constant study of myself and I know what needs to be
conquered because I'm constantly going through what I don't like, when I'm not comfortable with.
I know and only I can fix these problems because I have to face these problems.
Unchosen suffering is going to happen, right? So the only thing that you can do is have some
chosen suffering to prepare for it. It's the only thing you can do. That's the only thing you can
practice for the unchosen suffering is have chosen suffering. Do something that sucks every day.
I'm not trying to send a message of run 200 miles, be the best motherfucker in the world.
But be tough.
You better have a part about you that's tough, a part about you that can break down situations and get better.
And break down situations very quickly within some trauma in your life, some devastation in your life, because it's going to come.
The devastation, the trauma is going to come, and you can't allow that to become a Jersey bear.
It can't be a Jersey barrier.
It has to be something that you can maneuver through very quickly and move forward.
That takes a lot of toughness.
A lot of people, when you die, they figure out why you die.
They figure out how you die.
It's been in the autopsy.
But we never do a live autopsy to figure out why we're dying while we are alive.
And I was dying.
I was living every day.
But I was really dead.
And so I figured it out.
And once I figured it out, I was able to,
reborn. I was ever to be reborn.
You must take this knowledge that you learn from all this shit is knowledge.
So I'm just trying to give people that strength to go in the archives of your life.
Because while you're probably f***ed up, it's probably something happened to you in your life.
Go through the archives, dig it up, study it, and then use it for yourself.
That's the main purpose for me right now.
You need to be better here.
You need to be better here.
You need to overcome this.
overcome that and I you know people need to have purpose to get up they need purpose to perform
you need to get to a point in your life where there's nothing on the docket there's no 5k
there's no i'm going to get into school to be this or that and still perform to the highest level
because what people don't get is one day that thing's going to come up and if you're not
constantly performing without purpose you're not going to be ready when the time comes it's this
thing purpose that we're all looking for. But what's funny about it all is that we need these
things to perform. But we don't take a second to realize the purpose is always there. The purpose
never leaves us because the very purpose is you. You are always the purpose. There may be another
purpose like being a seal or going to college or whatever, but the main purpose in life is you.
So if you wake up in the morning and you don't want to do something, you don't care enough about yourself.
And that's what you need to really research is, why am I not doing this for myself?
Because that is the number one purpose in life, is to better oneself.
So that's the only purpose I fucking need.
So the reason I give up every day, even though there's no races, there's no school, there's nothing in front of me, is because I have pride in myself.
I was born David Gagans.
David Gaggans wasn't good enough.
He was a scared, bullied, abused kid
who struggled in life.
And that kid, whenever something got tough,
you matter how hard I trained,
no matter how ready I was,
whenever something got tough for me,
David Gagons, the real David Gagons,
would come out and he would quit.
So I realized this over a period of time.
So I had to build Gagons.
and in that process, that's where I get better.
That voice that says, oh, I can't do this.
I can't do that.
It's not possible.
I shouldn't do this.
But just do it.
Just do it in the name of moving to your potential.
You were now born to lose.
You were born a winner.
You were born to be great.
Believe it.
I need you to focus on why you were born in the first place.
What are you doing here?
There are dreams and there are goals
and there are things that you were born to achieve
and that you were born to do.
Get up.
Are you listening to me?
Get up right now.
Get up right now from your misery.
Get up right now and start climbing.
Get up right now and recognize who you are.
Get up right now and climb.
This is that New Year's energy
to put that battery.
in your back to push you, to get up, and make the necessary changes.
Don't tell me you want to go to the next level if you're not willing to roll your sleeves
up.
Are you going to let life beat you down for another year?
Or are you going to get up and say enough is enough?
It's time to listen.
It's time to focus.

So no more resolutions.
We about that action.
We're about following through.
As a matter of fact, your motto for this year and the rest of your life is follow through.
You've got one life to live.
It's time to get it done.
I want to talk about a force so profound, so transformative that it can change the very fabric of our lives.
This force is gratitude.
The two emotions that destroy your relationship, your business, your life, it's fear and anger.
Those are two extremes.
What's the emotion I want to train?
Gratitude.
He can't be grateful and fearful simultaneously.
He can't be angry and grateful simultaneously.
So what I do is I start my day and make those changes,
and I close my eyes or I look out of the water,
and I think of three things that I'm grateful for
for just a minute each.
I find 10 things to be grateful for before my feet hit the ground.
And especially if I'm feeling strained in stress,
I go over my gratitude since because gratitude will reduce stress all day long.
In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives,
we often overlook the power of simply being thankful.
But let me tell you, gratitude
is not just a feeling, it's a way of life.
There's nothing you'll ever accomplish
that's more remarkable than that you have a chance
to accomplish something.
When you're so grateful for the at-bat, you're happy.
When we unpack the architecture of a winning mentality,
we're dealing with some money.
That every single day they're beating on their crab
and they're closing the gap.
They are crystal clear about where they are
and where they're looking to go.
This is the type of person that's got tunneled
They move in the dimension of mindfulness and gratitude.
Say thank you for your heart that knows how to mean when it's broken.
Show gratitude for your composure that helps you control your emotions.
I stand here.
I stand here.
In my greatness.
I own my light.
I owe my brilliance.
I am bold.
I am bold.
I am courageous.
I'm perfect in my imperfection.
This is my time.
This is my time.
I'm bright enough.
I'm old enough.
I'm young enough.
I've experienced enough.
I'm wise enough.
I understand that I enough.
Own it.
If you're a state of gratitude makes total sense, then you will accept, believe, and surrender
the thoughts that are equal to that emotional state.
And you could actually program your autonomic nervous system to make the pharmacy of chemicals
that causes growth and repair to happen in the body.
You start feeling gratitude.
You start feeling more gratitude.
You start feeling love.
You start feeling more love.
You start feeling kindness.
Start feeling care.
You start feeling appreciation.
You start feeling creative.
You start feeling inspired.
You practice feeling those emotions.
And you get that heart of yours back into balance.
We discovered that once energy makes it to the heart, it's going right to the brain.
I take three minutes and it's kind of like a blessing or prayer for the people around me,
for the people I love.
And there's been a lot of studies that Dalai Lama and others have done on compassion for strangers,
what it does to your brain.
And then the last three minutes, I call three to thrive,
where I focus for a minute each on something I really want to make happen.
I get thanks for it as it's done.
I see it is done.
I see it is done.
I wire my particular activating system.
So now it's going to notice anything that relates to that,
but it has a joyous feeling to it.
joyous feeling to it as well. And I'm done in 10 minutes and I'm ready to rock and roll.
I'm trying to get people to practice reframing their perspective. I practice gratitude
every day. If I wake up in the morning and nobody I love passed away or came down with a terminal illness, then my day starts off great thing.
When I wake up today, every single day, I wake up grateful. I wake up happy. I wake up excited.
Pause and reflect on what you're grateful for.
This simple act can turn darkness into life, struggle into strength, embrace the power of gratitude,
and let it be the foundation of your journey.
Be grateful for life.
Be grateful for your children.
Hug your loved ones.
Tomorrow's I promise we all got to fight.
Because winning is not just an exterior thing.
It is very much an interior thing.
Winning has everything to do with your mentality.
It has everything to do with how you talk.
How you walk, how you think, how you overcome conflict, how you navigate a room, how you navigate relationships, how you manage your time, how you manage your money.
Winning! It's not just an end thing. It's not just a crown or trophy. It is the process. It is not just what I want. It is who I am becoming.
Carry the power of gratitude with you. Let it illuminate your path.

and deepen your connection
the most important decision of your life
is deciding whether you're truly committed to being happy
no matter what
because life is going to throw all kinds of
curveballs at all of us
so the greatest gift you could give yourself
is I believe to make that decision
and say life is too short to suffer
it doesn't matter what happens
you're going to find something
it to enjoy and appreciate.
You find what you're looking for.
You want to get sad?
Go read all the negative stuff.
It's there, unlimited.
You want to be happy.
Go find all the free content around happiness, self-fulfillment, positivity.
It's all there.
You find what you're looking for.
I'm not an advocate of toxic positivity or rose-colored glasses necessarily,
but I do believe that you get to choose the thing that you're going to go looking for,
And if you can get up and say, I'm going to go out and find some evidence of a good day.
The likelihood of you having one is just higher.
That gratitude allows me to have perspective at the end of the day,
as opposed to focusing on all the horrible things or the bad stuff.
It brings me back to perspective that my life is amazing, even if it's horrible.
My life is amazing, even if it's the worst day ever and everything is against me.
I lose all my money and something else bad happens.
It's still incredible.
You focus so much on the negative that you forget all the positive.
And then when you do think about the positive, you're not putting the energy in the positive like you put in the negative.
I know how to talk negative just like you know how to talk negative.
But it don't work.
It don't help nobody.
Because if I put my energy into something negative, automatically my body's going to respond and I'm going to start doing negative stuff.
I was homeless too.
My father wasn't in my life too.
I've been in struggles too.
But I've come to realize that when you think optimistically and you speak positively, you can speak those things which are not as though
work you can say certain things like your mouth and make it happen positive thinking is not about
being delusional positive thinking is about learning how to take control of internal processes and
understanding that that will shape your external environment but it's about remaining in control of
the internal landscape it's about knowing that despite shifts in the external landscape you're
going to be okay this wave of betrayal this wave of fear this wave of grief this wave of
frustration, this wave of feeling stuck, this wave of feeling hopeless, it's temporary.
It will come and it will go. And when you realize that emotions are temporary, it also gives you
perspective to know that something better is coming. One of my mentors, she had this business
card that she used to give out to people. And it said that her greatest regret in life is trading
in what she wanted in the bigger picture for what she wanted in that moment. And I always think about
my life in that way of, is this what I want for the greater good for my story to be? Or am I acting at a
place of desire? Am I acting at a place of wanting to change the way that I feel right now, knowing
that that will hinder me? That's not really what I want. What place am I going to be? What place am I
coming from. Smart people like the idea of being cynical because it seems like you've considered
all of the options. Only somebody that's a smooth-brained idiot would believe that things are going to go
well, but it fails to recognize that your experience of your life is largely determined by the
story that you tell yourself about it. Well, I think it's the idea of going, look, you can change
the way that you think about things. So I was thinking about things in, I can do this narrow
bandwidth of things. My belief system, the assumptions I've made about life, well, you can get a job
and you can work for someone.
And after you get a job and you work for 40 years,
you get a pension and then you get the pay.
I was on a conveyor belt.
Sure.
And suddenly I went,
oh, I can believe anything.
I could believe that I could do anything.
I could believe that I could be the guy on the TV show,
telling jokes.
And you can.
What you believe dictates your life.
You'll be the barrier.
You'll be the thing that stops you.
Life itself is what we deem it.
That's exactly right.
It is what we deem it.
And so you have to be relentlessly protective of the information that you take in,
the thoughts that occupy your mind, the people that you surround yourself with.
Because all of those things are influence factors.
Another stoic philosopher once said that, you know, when you leave your house and when you come back that night,
you come back as a different man.
You're never the same man coming back, right?
Well, you're either coming back as a better human, more transcendent, more aware, more, more connection.
or not?
So every single day for me, it starts
in ground zero. I'm humble
and I'm listening and my mind is open
and this is what I've seen and this is what
I can tell you about. Everything that I look at, I try
and look at from a humble perspective and if you
don't do that, it's going to be a problem.
Perspective is everything.
Let's go. I need you to hear me
loud and clear. How you see this
thing is everything.
I just limited envy and
jealousy and I leaned
into optimism and gratitude
If you're deeply unhappy, instead of blaming everyone else for it, put in the work to get out of it.
Because you can. I believe in people. I fucking believe in you.
How will you see the risk? How you see the...
If you're going to do it, do it. Say what you can do? Do what you say.
You can't do it. Don't say you can do it. Don't over-leverage yourself. Don't over-leverage the decision and then jump in and kind of dip a toe. I think I'll try it out.
Now, think if you're going to try it out beforehand, but when it's time to go, dive.
Finish it, find out.
Come out the other side.
Don't leave it and go, if I just foot it, uh-uh.
That keeps me up at night.
I think it keeps a lot of us up at night.
When you half-assed something, you just don't know, whether you failed or succeeded, got what you want or didn't get what you want.
Finding out and looking in the mirror and going, I didn't have acid.
I went all the way.
I found out, and that ain't for me.
Or I found out, and you damn right that is for me, that's a great place to get to.
I think part of the challenges in life is a lot of us are running around half-assing ourselves,
half-filling ourselves, not full of ourselves, not studying ourselves enough, not holding ourselves to task enough,
not patting our own self on the back when we do get what we want enough,
not cracking our own whip on our backside when we do get out of line even though we knew better.
I wish we were more full of ourselves that way.

I think we should take some time to be able to look in the mirror
and own that thing that we pulled off

that's what you want and it's what you got
at the same time be able to
as we do more often, look in the mirror,
when we fail and go,
uh-uh, bogey, you did not pull that off.
Give others and yourself more credit.
Happiness, you can't guarantee it,
but there is a science to satisfaction.
You can look at habits that engineered less pain in your life.
Maybe more pleasure, but at least less pain.
And that's a win.
so much easier to be supportive and gentle of other people than of ourselves you know you will happily
bestow this sort of gentle reassuring pat on the shoulder when somebody succeeds or falls short when they
tried their best yet given the fact that you tried your best you give yourself a kick on the way out
of the door and a harsh word to follow you yep because i got myself in the pickle because things didn't
go how i wanted it to go or how i believed it could go
life's the ironic tragedy, life is pain.
I'm the reason that I stepped in, which is also an asset,
even if someone go, why are you giving yourself so much credit for screwing that up?
We're going to make mistakes.
You got to own them.
Then you've got to make amends.
And then you've got to move on.
Guilt and regret kills many a man before their time.
So turn the page, get off the ride.
you are the author of the book of your life.
There are habits that I notice of things I take care of in my life, health-wise, faith-wise,
father-wise, husband-wise.
If I'm doing that consistently, there's less valleys.
The ironic tragedy is that life has to be lived forward but only makes sense in reverse.
When you look back, we can all connect every single dot.
It's mathematical, scientific how we got to this table right here.
It's all connected if we go back and look at it.
And there's a whole lot of, I thought that was the end.
Well, it was the end, but it was the beginning of this thing.
What you're leaning into is that mystery going forward, right?
That ironic tragedy, you have something to push off the, well, I don't know what I do want, but I do know I don't want that.
You have leverage.
Yes.
You know, we always say, well, who are you?
You know, I want to figure out who you are.
And we ask, I try to ask my kids that now.
Well, I want you know who you are.
And a part of that who's helped me is Bob Dylan's lines.
It's like, I don't know what all this talks about who we are, man.
We are all just what we create ourselves to be.
And that gives me a little, oh, that's relaxing.
But it's so much easier to figure out who you're not.
And if you start eliminating who I'm not, by sheer mathematics, you end up moving towards.
Who, more of what feeds you and who you are.
And it's a hell of a lot easier thing to go, how can I get rid of some bullshit my life than it is to go, well, how do I go to my true self?
Do I want to press the accelerator more quickly?
Or do I want to take my foot off the fucking break?
Sometimes the hard work and the endurance and the elbow grease
that work harder.
We were talking about that hustle is not the way out.
Sometimes it's I need to back up, laugh, have a sip of my favorite, whatever,
and dance my way through the raindrops out of this sun.
And even looking at the things that are bad and going,
oh, thank you.
Appreciate that.
I know many of you saw this game.

I had to work hard. I had to dedicate myself and I had to be determined and I was.
The bottom line is that if you're talking about beating everybody else on the planet to a thing,
what you're actually talking about is what are you prepared to sacrifice
psychologically, physically, existentially,
relationally, socially, in terms of your self-esteem, you're confident, everything.
comfort in everything, right? All of that.
That pain you feel, that's a pain of success.
You must be willing to shoulder that pain to get success.
Success is something that's a very lonely path in this world.
Because few are willing to make that down payment of pain,
that futurement of success, a better to life.
Very few are.
So if you want to be the top, you got to move different.
There wasn't a lot of smiley faces with me out there.
There wasn't a lot of smiley faces with Michael Jordan.
There weren't a lot of smiley faces with Kobe Bryant.
There weren't a lot of smiley faces with Tiger Woods.
Even when I watch sports today and see these guys on the range,
like, they're all buddies.
And I'm like, that's not the killer instinct.
That's just not.
I don't think Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson were trying to be friends with anybody.
I think they were going out there on a mission.
And if there was someone in their way, they had to crush them.
There's never any doubts in my mind because I'm the best in the world,
even though a lot of you don't like to hear it.
It's fast.
I'm the best.
You know what I mean?
I sometimes I don't want to believe in myself, but it's the truth.
I'm the best.
You can love me.
You can hate me.
I'm not here to make friends.
I'm here to win.
At the end of the day, even Alexander, one of his famous quotes is, I have met the enemy.
It is I, right?
And although that is one element of an enemy, that's great.
We need that.
Michael had it, Brady had it, Kobe had it.
But there's a crazy psychologically, you can call it, you know, psycho-competitor
that they're constantly in the search of recruiting their next enemy.
It's like, you know, life is boring if I don't have my next target.
You know, I'm almost, you know, bad for myself if I don't have the next target, the next enemy.
And if I choose it the right way, then I'm able to bring God aside of me I've never seen before.
Success is the only revenge.
As you expand, they shrink into irrelevance.
As you get louder, no one can hear them.
You don't beat them.
You cast a shadow so big, no one can see them to begin with.
And it comes down to like, what are you willing to sacrifice at the end of the day?
You know, people don't understand the level of sacrifice is going to take.
And there's been moments where I realize that I compete because I want to win.
I love winning.
I love being the best in the world.
I've sat many times trying to find the balance of what I want within all this.
If I was losing, I wouldn't be competing.
I'm here to win.
It is hard.
It's hard when you're young to wake up in the off season at 6 a.m. to go train and work out,
knowing that all your friends are sleeping in and eating pancakes.
It's hard when you're on your way to practice, way down with all your gear.
And it's 90 degrees out, and all the other kids are at the pool or at the beach.
No matter who you are, there are bumps and hits and bruises along the way.
And my advice is to prepare yourself because success and achievement come from overcoming adversity.
When the rest of the world says no to you, you say yes to yourself.
You say yes, I believe.
You say yes, I can do it.
You say yes.
Nothing can stop me.
If you want to be a great player, if you play every single day, two, three hours, every single day or a course of a year, how much better are you getting?
Most kids will play maybe, you know, an hour and a half, two days a week.
It's not going to get it done.
You have to be obsessive.
You have to be obsessive.
You have to be addicted.
You have to be disciplined.
The key there is you.
Everyone else is looking for other individuals to do stuff for you.
Stop looking for fucking help from everybody else.
Okay, it starts and it ends with you.
Your identity starts and it ends with you.
Every day is an opportunity based on your choices on how you look at things.
The choices you make every day.
That is what you are in the mirror today.
From the captain to the cashier,
There is more in you.
Stay at home father, stay at home mother, lawyer, doctor, hygienist, author.
I don't know who you are, where you're from, but there's more in you.
That becomes a part of who you are.
That changes how you think.
That changes how you move.
That changes how you behave.
If you could become an executor, if you can execute, I'm talking about learn it.
I'm talking about put it deep within.
Not you hear it.
You have to realize that there's always work to do and you want to be the hardest working person and whatever you do and you'll put yourself in position to be successful.
Muhammad Ali said, suffer now and live the rest of your life a champion because he knew that the training wasn't killing him.
The training was making him. It was forging him in fire.
I got to trust that nothing out there can stop who I am inside.
You've got to stand on your faith.
You've got to stand on your strength.
You got to stand on who you are.
I will rise again and I will push.
I will be the victorious one.
I will conquer.
Listen to me, if you work forward,
if you were willing to put in that sweat,
that blood and those tears, baby, I'm telling you,
you can have what you won't, be what you won't,
do what you won't.

Reach the point of no return, my friend,
where you're always willing to give more.
That fact that you have the ability to do something
and you're two weeks to fucking turn the key and start the engine on it
is a greater disappointment
and a greater burden to carry.
than any of this physical sweat equity or pain in the gym or swore or sacrifice all that is just
when no one's watching i work harder than when they're watching and thinking about it like that
has given me this persistent and ever-present scorecard or third party that's like no one's watching
which means now you have to work because otherwise you're full of shit the sign of success is
the hate that you get along the way.
The only person who can judge you on your success is you.
You're the only one who knows how much left in the tank you really had.
When you're stagnating in a business and you're plateaued and you don't know what to do, it's very painful.
When you're declining and you also don't know what to do, it's very painful.
And so that means that all conditions of reality are painful.
If pain is a prerequisite for reality, then it means it's just a signal that we are alive.
rather than pain is a problem, it is a signal that I'm breathing.
It just doesn't matter.
You can work every hour of the day.
The person who loves walking walks further than the person who loves the destination.
I work all the time.
That's all I do.
And I work until I can't work.
They're like, that's not healthy.
I'm like, define healthy.
I do as much as I can of the thing that I want to do every minute of my day.
And I work harder now than I did when I was poor.
And I think it's because I've learned to enjoy.
enjoy it. And most people say, I wouldn't live my life that way. You're always working. You're always
doing these things. But it's like, I'm actually always spending my time in pursuit because in pursuit
is my button for enjoyment. I will do enough work that there is nothing left to be done.
Everyone believes in the American dream until it comes true. And I remember because what had happened
was everybody when I was sleeping on the gym floor, right? Like, you know, I was the underdog.
You know, my clients were all like, oh, good for you. You know, you're going after your dream. They'd see my
blanket and my pillow in the corner of the gym and they knew I was sleeping there and it was evident.
You know, I lived there and that everybody was like pro me and then people come in, they
sign up like, I'm going to, I'm going to support you, right? And then within nine months,
I had hired people and I had a manager and I pulled up and I remember I walked in the lobby and
all the same, the same people were like, ah, boss man's here. Oh, you're not too good for us now,
right? And I remember being so jarred by the.
experience and I was like, you guys rooted for me. And I was like, and now I did what you said
you were rooting for me to do. And that was when I realized that people want you to do well,
but not better than them. The reason the goal isn't coming at you fast enough is because every
person you've seen accomplished the goal, you only see it the moment they accomplish it.
And the reason that it hurts so much when people are like, must be nice, oh,
That happened overnight is because every time you fail, no one cares and no one sees.
But when you finally win, people take notice.
Disgraded it.
But it's the only time they notice is when you actually win.
And so to even further reinforce the point, the fact that everyone looks like an overnight success
means that the 10 years where they sucked, no one saw.
And so the fear that you have about people noticing the fact that you fail,
is ridiculous because they're barely going to notice when you succeed.
The difficulty with personal development and entrepreneurship
is that you don't know when the end is coming,
but you still need to fight.
And the only certainty that I can give you is that
it's the same thing that every other person who got through that period went through.
But I think the thing that everyone who's listening lacks
is the context on how hard, hard work is,
not in that it's complex, but just in that,
it's a continuous and unending focus on one thing and noticing the details that separate
mediocrity from greatness. And if you're like, I don't know what the difference between those two
things is. That is the opportunity that hard work reveals. And most people expect that is hard
work because that's the hardest they've worked, not the amount of hard work that is
required in order to get the level of outcome that they say they want or that they expect.
And until you get great, because as soon as you get great at one thing, you realize just the tremendous amount of hours and work that it takes to be great at one thing.
And then there's this oh shit moment that I can express personally, which is you realize that there's so few things that you can be great at.
And then the discipline comes down to saying, what are the two or three things that I can be really good at in my life?
Because it will take me five to seven years to be exceptional at this one thing.
I am okay being a beacon of relentless hard work.
And that's the never-ending cycle of excellence.
Oh, I just have to figure out what to do.
When I wake up every day, there's only one voice I have to listen to.
And so then it's like, just do it for me.
Yeah, we need to be reminded more than we need to be taught.
It's one of my favorites.
There been so many times in my life where I knew I needed to do something, and then I filled all this extra time not doing that thing.
And then the moment I did it, I was like, wow, that took way less time than I thought it was going to take.
And not only that, it took way less time than it took me to delay to actually get to this point.
And if I had only started with just doing what I was supposed to do, I could have done four or five other things that I was also supposed to do by this exact same point.
waking up and then trying to shrink the time between when I wake up and when I start working
and shrinking the time between one task and the next task.
Like you don't need to take 30 minutes of getting ready to start working.
Like you can just start working because as soon as you get into it, you start pulling the thread
and you're like, oh, here it is.
And all of the time that I was getting ready to work,
I was just using up my best brainpower time on things that truly don't move the needle at all.
The vast majority of business owners work a fair amount.
They just work on the wrong stuff and they do it.
wrong way. And so they get so little for their effort that they wonder when they're at home,
empty-handed, in bed, why is in this working when I am working? But if you define work, at least the
way I do, which is output. And in order to get output, it's volume times leverage. So how many times
you do the thing times how much you get for each time you do it. And so that is the do you work smart
or do you work hard. It's you do both. You do as many reps as you possibly can. And you do it with
the most leveraged possible. So if I make 100 phone calls, the leverage that I can have there would be
how skilled I am. So if I make 100 calls, I might get 10 times more. And so I worked more. I had more
output that somebody has less skill. But the only way you get skilled is by working more. And so it's this
virtuous cycle of doing more and getting better, and then you get more for what you do.
I talk about the Rule of 100 on steroids, which is something that I learned from a guy who
owned 13 or 14 really successful gyms. And he called it Open to Goal. And he called it Open to Goal.
And he said, yeah, yeah, yeah.
He said, my managers work open to goal.
And I was like, what does that mean?
It's like, so they work open until they hit their goal.
And so sometimes that means they hit their goal by noon and they can cut out.
Or that means that they have to go from 5 a.m. until midnight that night,
because that's how long it took them to hit the goal.
And so I've seen this across a lot of high achievers across domain.
So, like, I'll keep shooting free shots until I hit 100 free shots.
I will run until this happens.
I will practice my presentation until I do zero mess-ups, right?
Or whatever that output is that you want for quality or quantity.
And the more times you do what is required to get what you want,
the more times you get what you want.
When no one's watching, I work harder than when they're watching.
Thinking about it like that has given me this persistent and ever-present scorecard
or third party that's like, no one's watching, which means now you have to work, because otherwise you're full of shit.
And so it's this continuous reinforcing cycle of me and other me holding the whip behind me to see how much I can take.
But with each lash of the whip that I take, learning that I can take it and continue to trudge on, as long as you keep going, you bear witness to yourself of what you are capable of.
and I find that incredibly satisfying in the trenches of misery when you have to go through it.
Hard work is the goal.
And so it's not like work hard, so that X.
Because as soon as you have a so that, then the X is the thing.
But if the goal is to work as hard as you possibly can, then the only real output we have is who we become along the way.
Then it's something that I can win or measure myself against every day in real time throughout the day,
which is how hard am I working?
Because that is the goal, because I know that when I look back on my life,
the days that I loved the most were days when I had nothing left in the tank.
And so then the goal becomes to empty the tank, not where I drive,
but just to drive the car as hard as I possibly can.
And that means that in the beginning it's just straightaways and just seeing how high I can rev the engine.
But as it become more advanced, it's like, all right, well, now we've got turns, and then it's turns in elevation,
and then it's turns in elevation without guardrails, because we have risk.
And so when I think about how hard I want to work, the interesting thing about that is that the only person who can judge you on your success is you,
because you're the only one who knows how much left in the tank you really had.
There's this huge time delay between when we start behaving in a way that a winner behaves and when we start winning.
and the problem is that the bigger the mountain you're trying to climb,
the bigger the W you're trying to get,
typically the more delayed it is between when you start behaving like a winner
and when you start being a winner.
And most people don't get the fast enough feedback loop
to know that they're on the right path
when they are taking these first steps in the right direction
because they have this really big goal,
but they forget that with that really big goal
comes to even longer delay that it takes to get there.
Every day when you wake up, you have choices.
Life is about choices.
We all have the same 24 hours in a day.
You can hit the snooze button and you can stay in the bed
where it's safe and it's comfortable.
Or you can get up and face the world.
You can stay at your phone scrolling on social media,
endlessly, or you can create habits that are going to help you become the person that you want to be,
the person that you are destined to be.
The power lies in the decisions that we make every single day.
Make the choices that your future self would thank you for.
Don't just let life happen to you.
Create the life that you want.
One choice, one action, one day at a time.
Because in the end, your life is nothing more than the sum of your choices.
You have the power to decide right now, today, not tomorrow.
So choose wisely, choose powerfully, choose to live the life you deserve.
It's the game, right?
Like either you're right or you're wrong.
Either you win or you lose.
But if you're going to come to me and tell me you don't have time,
in a world where I work every second for 18 hours a day, right?
You're going to have a tough time making me feel bad
that it's not happening for you because that's part of it.
It's simple.
It's now or never time.
What would have had to have happened in a week for you to look back on that week with pride?
Okay, maybe stop breaking promises to yourself.
When you say I'm going to wake up tomorrow at 7 a.m.
And when the option comes to hit the snooze button, don't do it.
There's one win that you've got for the day.
That's action.
So it all comes down to this moment.
This moment is the only time we can transform.
And I say join now or never.
Don't miss the opportunity of this moment.
Because the days are going to be long, but the months will be short.
You have an opportunity.
Seize the opportunity.
We all get wake up calls.
We get wake up calls in our relationship.
We get wake up.
up calls in our finances and some people the phone's ringing off the hook right now
they're getting wake up calls on a bunch of things they're at home with their family and
it's and they're starting to realize I was disconnected from my family I haven't been
plugged in my they got a wake up call on their relationships at home they've gotten a wake up call
on you know I don't have any savings and I've got I'm deeply in debt this isn't working and so
the cool thing is when you get the call then you have to make the choice are you going to answer the phone
If you pick the phone up, that means maybe it's time to change.
Are you going to answer the phone?
Are you going to change your life where you say, never again?
Maybe it's time to increase your quality of life.
Maybe instead of staying in the middle back seat, it's time to upgrade to the exit row.
Or business class.
Or maybe it's time to eat at a different restaurant.
Maybe it's time to really think about your money dial and say, hey, I always claim that wellness is important.
and yet I'm still eating like the same old thing I used to eat 10 years ago.
Maybe it's time to upgrade what I eat and where I work out and all that kind of stuff.
My gear.
You can do that.
You've made it.
You already won the basic game.
So now you get to benefit from it.
I believe if you're the kind of person that has spent too much time thinking about where to go,
then it's time to get in the car and start driving.
And you have to be able to pivot quickly.
You have to be able to adjust fast.
You have to constantly be aware of the changes around you,
and you don't have time to kind of say,
well, I'm going to give it six months and think about it.
You know, you give it six days and hit it.
The fastest person doesn't win the race.
It's the person who starts first.
Be the now of what you want to be later.
It starts right now.
And if you're not doing the now,
don't have respect to later.
be the person you want to look in the mirror.
Everyone's like, oh, later in life, I want to do this.
Later in life, I want to do that.
Later in life is turning around looking the mirror right now.
That's the later in life.
And let's that turn around is something impregion.
Later in life, ain't going to be anything different.
Absolutely, you do whatever it takes, okay?
Even if it risks your life, that's your dream.
I made a decision that, look, this is what I want to do.
Somebody's to give me an opportunity, I'm going to take advantage of it.
I have 24 hours in the day.
I try to take advantage of every hour.
Yeah, most days I just want to wake up and make the most of the time I have.
I realize it's finite.
And I think I'm here for some purpose.
That's what I was trained to believe in my own family, spiritually.
Like, we're all here for some purpose to give.
Then mostly I'm just like constantly worried that I'm not fulfilling that promise.
I was like, wow, if I'm not pushing myself to do more,
and to have more impact, then I'm not really taking full advantage of what I'm here.
Because if you spend your time learning too much and never acting, you're going to fail, right?
If you spend your time acting, acting, acting, but you're never learning what you're doing, you're going to fail.
If you spend your time chasing opportunity and never doing anything, you're going to be at best in some famous person's entourage, right?
I think that's how those people end up there because you see opportunity, but you never act.
As humans, I've realized, like, we all have these reservoirs and this untapped potential inside of us and can achieve these extraordinary things when we're focused, when
we shine positivity in light, when we lean into those that we love and uplift and co-create together.
But we usually don't pay attention to what's here right now. Right now, you and I are here.
Everything we think our story is, our accomplishments, our problems are BS. We're just this moment.
It's true. And everyone watching this, if you really understand the highest truth of what's going on,
we're all even. There's no, this person is better or less. And there's none of that. We're just this space that's here.
Now, from here, you have skies the limit possibilities.
I chased opportunity, like viciously chased opportunity.
Then I learned once I got there, and then I didn't hesitate to apply it.
You know, the worst thing you could ever do is if you're pursuing the wrong dream or if your dream changes and you don't change with it.
I know from a personal level what that feels like to be in pain or to feel like you're not worthy.
or that you're never going to be anything.
And I was like, you know what?
It's time for me to free my own mind.
Yeah.
And resentment and anger and all these things that I kind of will just keep internally.
It's time to rewrite this story.
If you're about to make a change in your life and you feel uncomfortable,
that's the best feeling you can have.
Because for the first time in your life, you're making a decision that's going to be best for you.
Now, moments.
it is your time to make a difference
now is your time to have an impact
now is your time to make straight a's
now is your time to be noticed
now is your time to be heard
now is your time to be seen
now is your time to do this thing
it's your moment
the only belief that matters is
that if you put
time and energy into getting better at something,
you'll actually get better.
And that those skills have utility.
And typically when somebody learns something easier,
we say, oh, they were born with it.
But the reality is they get a disproportionate return
on the amount of time that they spend studying that thing.
They still have to study that thing.
And so you don't find people achieving just levels of greatness,
you know, even take a LeBron,
who the amount of time that he spends working on his craft,
making sure that his body's in peak physical condition,
reading the game, all of that.
He has to do all that,
even though he has also incredible natural talent.
So it can be useful to look for areas where,
hey, I have a love for this thing and I'm good at it.
I get a disproportionate return.
That's a better way to think of it.
That when I put energy into learning this thing,
I get maybe 1.3x return on that versus somebody else
who might get a 0.7.
return. But what I want everybody to understand is you get a return. And so once you understand that
you get a return, it may take you longer. You may have to work harder than somebody else. But if you
love it enough and you want to be that thing, then you can become that thing. But now is your moment.
Now is your time. Now is the time where the talking is done. Now is the moment where you got to make a
decision. And the decision is simply this. Are you ready to take the next step?
Are you ready to start the new chapter?
Are you ready to go and build a legacy?
Are you ready?
There is no tomorrow.
Sometimes.
It's just you and God.
It's just you and God where you've got to put the work in alone.
And you have to identify your strengths and your weaknesses.
And you've got to become self-aware.
And you've got to identify where you are self-sabotaging.
And you've got to train your body and your mind.
You've got to bring yourself to peak condition.
You've got to develop your strength and increase your capacity and your endurance.
And you've got to stretch and you've got to push and you've got to pull and you've got to leap and you've got to run.
And sometimes you will grow weary.
And there will be days where you don't want to get out of bed, where you don't want to eat.
You don't have the energy to think.
And nobody calls you and nobody texts you and nobody checks you.
and nobody checks on you.
And very few believe that you will ever come out of this darkness.
You will ever come out of this hole.
You have to believe is one of the number one keys to your future.
Faith.
Man, you got to believe you will need night vision.
You've got to be able to see in the dark.
It's you and God.
Until my team shows up, I will fulfill my destiny.
I will be undefeated. I will be unstoppable.
I will be a force to be wrecking with.
No weapon that is formed against me will be able to prosper.
I am destined. I am determined. I am devoted.
I am dangerous.
I gotta wipe the blood out of my eyes as far as seeing.
and start to see that it's possible that I can come out of this place of misery.
I can come out of this place of self-doubt and self-sabotage and fear and anxiety.

everything that doesn't serve the vision must go.

There will be seasons where you would need to be self-sufficient,
when you're going to have to learn survival skills,

You've got to learn how to strike while the iron is hot
from the shadows, out of obscurity,
out of the ashes of where people left you for dead.
Come on, you've got to dig yourself out of that place
with the help of God.
Come on, I need you to believe that you are good enough
to adapt, to innovate, to improvise,
to bring creative solutions to your place of pain.
I know what it's life to feel like you are losing your place and losing your mind.
And everything around you is crumbling.
You are being challenged on every level.
And life would knock you on your back and dare you.

because they don't know who they are.
They don't know their value.

I don't care if you're an athlete, a musician,
an entertainer, an innovator, a philanthropist,

And you're going to be scratching your head,
sliding down the wall, asking yourself,
are you still called?
Where's my audience?
Where's my tribe?

Why am I even doing this content?

Because eventually the tide will begin to change.

I never said it was going to be easy.

not get it all together. You can't seem to bring your life back on track. But get that mess out of your
ears and listen to the words that I'm saying. You can put your life back together again. You have
the faith, you have the strength, you have the knowledge, you have the ability. Now go to work
and do your business. No more of saying that you're not strong enough. No more of saying I tried.
Stop trying and start doing it.
Your life has meaning.
Your life has purpose.
Your strength is within you.
You were born with it.
There's something internal inside of you
that has more power than your flesh.
Whatever circumstance that you are dealing with right now in your life,
I am telling you right now,
it is only going to last for a short time.
time. Every day something is changing in somebody's life. Your life is changing. My life is changing.
Your loved ones' lives are changing. Stop wasting time doing nothing with your life. Because you
only got so much time, people. Keep in mind, ladies and gentlemen, there's one thing that we
cannot escape is coming for all of us. It's something that we cannot escape.
Life is no joke, ladies and gentlemen, but it is such an amazing gift.
What we do with it depends on how we live it.
Think about what you're doing with your life.
I get it. People are hurting.
People are miserable from time to time.
People are angry from time to time.
I understand it.
You know why?
Because you're a human being.
And being human is hard.
Being human is tough.
But guess what?
Nobody can do you better than you, ladies and gentlemen.
Find a way to understand that your life does matter.
And it is not over.
You can put it back together again.
With passion, with conviction, with purpose.
with will.
But if you're sitting around, being miserable,
looking for a pity party,
looking for someone to save you,
you're going to be in a world of hurt.
Stop with that madness of being pity.
The world is what it is.
People do what they do.
Not everyone is decent.
Not everyone means you well.
And the world don't stop because you having a bad day.
You're having a good day because you're still alive.
That means it's a good day.
Maybe it wasn't a great day, but it was a good day
because you made it and you're still alive.
Everybody's going to fall.
Everybody's going to get knocked down.
But you don't have to stay there, ladies and gentlemen.
As I always say, get back up and keep pushing forward.
Nobody's coming down there to get you.

Stop looking for someone to pull you out of a situation that you did not have to be in.

How much time do you think you have left?
Don't live your life as if you're going to go on forever.
Don't live your life and assume that all you're good for is being miserable.
Let me let you know right now, ladies and gentlemen, those that have had it easy don't know tough.
Those that have had it easy do not understand the significance of toughness.
Don't you dare look to them for strength?

You put more effort and excuses and weakness, but you refuse to find a way to be strong.

Sometimes when things get broken,
it doesn't mean that they're broken forever.

Where's my focus going?
I can always be upset about something.
Where do you tend to focus more?
Your past, your present, your future.
We all spend all three, but where do you spend more of your time?
Most of us who are achievers tend to focus on the future,
but all the joy is in the present.
The majority of people spend a lot of time in the past,
and the problem is you can't change it.
You're constantly focused on what's missing versus what you have.
You're focused on what you can't control.
And there's two worlds, right?
The external world, the internal world, the internal world.
We can't control the external world.
We can influence it.
The part we can control is what's going on inside of us.
And that we can control what we focus on.
We can control the meaning.
We can decide the meaning.
We're the meaning makers.
And we can decide what to do.
And when we make those three decisions, we're in control of our life.
And all the anxiety and bullshit tends to go away,
especially if we're trying to do that to serve something more than ourselves.
Because you can't serve something more than yourself and not benefit.
When you want some self-esteem, do something worthwhile,
beyond just yourself.
We all know the two emotions that destroy your relationship, your business, your life, it's fear and anger.
Those are two extremes.
He can't be grateful and fearful simultaneously.
He can't be angry and grateful simultaneously.
But you look at somebody like Steph Curry, and you see this guy, you know, shoot the ball from almost half court.
He doesn't even look.
He turns around and just waves because he knows it's in already.
And there's swish and the crowd goes crazy.
And people look at it and go, he's unbelievable.
He is.
unbelievable. It's unbelievable. He's the greatest three-point shooter in history. There's no one like
him. But what they don't pay attention to is that isn't like a little gift. He shoots 500 shots
every single day, never less than that, seven days a week for more than 15 years. The 15-year
professional career. He's been doing it since before he was in college. His dad really trained him.
So think of that, 3,500 shots a week, 168,000 shots in a year, 2 million shots in his 15-year
NBA career, so he could make 3,600 shots.
not even one-tenth of one percent.
I tell people you get rewarded in public for what you practice in private.
I think everything happens for a reason.
I think there's a higher purpose.
I think it's my job to find it.
I think that life happens for us, not to us, but it's our job to figure it out.
You know, you're going to battle with internal things within you and external things.
But if you keep going, you're going to eventually slay your dragons,
and you come out and the hero of your own life,
and you have something to share.
it isn't bullshit. It's not something you read somewhere. It's something you've lived.
And everybody can feel you've lived it because it's a different level of ownership, you know.
And then, by the way, as soon as you do that, it happens again. You know, you're called on another journey.
You have a new level of challenge that you need to go on it. It just never ends. But it's a, it makes life really, really beautiful.
How can people who are always very hard on themselves learn to build up their self-esteem a little bit more?
I don't know if self-esteem is the answer. You know, I think, I don't think it's bad to be hard.
as long as you also celebrate when the victories happen.
But you know, so many people will tell you,
I have poor self-esteem because when I was a kid,
people said this to me and that to me.
It's convenient that we remember those things
and not the positive things that also occur, obviously.
I think it's more important is to realize that self-esteem is earned.
It's only earned by you with yourself.
You're not going to get self-esteem because everybody praises you.
Someone can tell your whole life that you're brilliant,
you're a genius, you're beautiful, you're handsome,
and you know, I believe it.
Someone can tell you, you know, you're a piece of crap,
you're a piece of crap and you're never going to become anything.
And there's a party you can say, I'll show you as many people have.
And then they develop drive out of it, right?
So it's really self-esteem comes from doing incredibly difficult things where you know you pushed yourself.
It's not virtue signaling.
It's not telling people about it.
It's what you know inside your soul is true.
And the more you do things that are incredibly difficult,
especially things that are meaningful, meaning they're not just about yourself,
the higher that esteem would be.
I think the most important thing for self-esteem is to find something you care about more than yourself.
If you find something you care about more than you,
you won't be thinking about yourself all the time
and all your bullshit self-esteem shit just goes out the window.
The real question is, what do you want?
If you want an extraordinary life,
my definition that is life on your terms.
Some people, it's three beautiful children,
a white picket fence, some people,
it's building a multi-billion dollar business,
somebody else that's writing poetry.
Instead of looking for somebody else,
it's like, okay, what do you really want from your life?
and aligning yourself with moving forward towards what you really want.
If you can do that in a way that also you feel serving others simultaneously,
there's a sense of meaning in life that can't be replaced by self-esteem or praise or compliments or being nice to yourself.
And I don't think it's bad to be tough on yourself.
I'm pretty tough on myself, I'll be honest with you.
Being overly tough on yourself usually comes by making comparisons that don't make sense.
You're comparing to somebody else's life that has a totally different path, a totally different experience.
We all develop in different stages and different things.
They all want different things.
But eventually, you wake up and saying, it's good to be strong with yourself.
But beating yourself up just lowers your energy.
And when your energy gets lower, you produce less.
And you don't have the same level of joy.
You don't have the impact that you want to have, nor do you have the excitement that you really want to have.
So I look at it as something that it's worth earning your own self-esteem, but it's really not the same.
secret. The secret is find something else you obsess about more than yourself, and you'll have a
level of energy that will compel you over the long term. When I began, I began with a fuel, which was like,
I'm going to show them. It was anger that drove me. I'm just going to show you type of thing. But that fuel
doesn't last. And then the next fuel that people tend to use is, I got to succeed, but there's a little
fear underneath that that's driving them, which is like, what if I don't? Versus a knowing, you know,
It's like if you give your all every day,
your gifts will make room for you.
And it's like having a knowingness
that things are going to be fine.
And then there's the next level,
which is you start to know who you are
and you're not trying to prove it to yourself
or other people.
And it's just, you just want to help.
It's a difference between what I would call
push motivation and pull, right?
Push is, I'm going to make this happen.
And it takes tremendous willpower.
And I know you have plenty of willpower.
I do as well.
But there's a limit to willpower.
But there's no limit to power.
pull. Pull is when there's something magnificent that you want to serve, something that you've got an
obsession for to create or to do or make happen. And that doesn't, you know, you don't lose that
energy. You don't lose those components and you're able to laugh and enjoy along the way.
I think it's important to realize wherever focus goes, energy flows. It's corny, but it's true, right?
In fact, maybe an easier way of saying it is we don't experience life. None of us do. We experience
the life we focus on. So in any moment, what's wrong is always available. So is it's right. So it's not
about being positive. It's about being intelligent. You know, you got to look at the impact of what
you're believing. And you got to look at and say, you know, where's my focus going? I can always be
upset about something. I can always find something to be joyous or at least grateful for,
which leads to joy. And I think it's learning to discipline your disappointments, you know,
not allow them to grow and to move on and to use whatever life is giving you,
you can make some simple patterns and change your whole life, a focus.
The minute you focus on something, your brain has to decide what does it mean.
And meaning is what creates emotion, and emotion is where your life is, right?
And so the quality of your life is the quality of your emotions.
We all have a pattern of focusing on what we have and at times on what's missing.
Which one do you think most people spend more time focusing on what they have or what's missing?
you can engineer your life to have more happiness.
But I think the real challenge is thinking so hardly about being taken seriously just represents
your fears, right?
It's like I think spiritual development, when people talk about spiritual, not religious development,
spiritual development is the level of comfort you can have with just being your real self.
And I think that's not an easy task because we all are trying to be something, but we already are
that something we're trying to be.
doesn't mean you can't be better, but it's like accepting and appreciating what you really are.
And instead of projecting, you know, something else takes a lot of pain out of your body,
takes a lot of wasted energy out, it gets a lot of fears to just disappear.
And I don't have an easy path for that. I think it's the hero's journey.
I feel if I work my ass off, now I've done my part, okay, now come through me, let's do this,
and it tends to flow.
Life happens to me or I happen to life, but life happens for me.
Yes, that's not to me.
Yeah, is a wonderful reframe.
Yeah, I really believe it.
But you've got to dig for it.
It's not easy.
It's got to be earned, right?
Like, wishing for confidence without competence is just delusion.
You have no evidence to say that you can do this thing.
If you want freedom, if you value freedom, you can't possibly have it as long as you played the victim role.
None of that makes you who you are.
None of that controls where you are in your life.
It's like, have you ever had something happened in your life?
that was horrible.
I mean, it was painful.
You'd never want to go through it again in a million years.
You wouldn't want anybody else to go through it that you care about.
But after five or ten years, you look back and you say,
I never want to go through it again, but now I see the wisdom in it.
I'm glad it did.
It's like it made me care so much more.
It made me so much stronger.
It made something in me more.
I mean, I'm sure you can relate to that, can't you?
Yeah, for sure.
I mean, you don't really realize.
It's just life.
And then you learn a little bit more about yourself and you start to realize,
well, look at all of the ways that I've had to compensate.
for that. Look at all of the ways that it's held me back. Look at all of the beliefs that I have about
myself. And God, if only that hadn't happened, then I would be here or I would be there. And then you
realize, well, the light side of all of that dark stuff is usually the stuff that I'm most proud of
myself for. Yes. So the fact that you were maybe a little bit alone in childhood means that you're
very self-sufficient when you're an adult. Or the fact that you didn't have any need to support you
means that you have no concern about working on your own and continuing to take a bet on
yourself, so on and so forth. So you end up having this really strange loop where you go from
unconscious incompetence in that you've somehow been through something that you really hate
to this sort of awareness of how it's held you back, to this awareness of how it's propelled you.
And then you have to get to this really difficult place, which is, okay, so this is a thing
that I kind of wish hadn't happened, and yet I'm grateful that it did. And it's a,
It's like a psychological superposition that you need to hold in your head at the same time.
You can't collapse it down into one.
You need to hold both of these things.
It's like yeah, that's, like that shouldn't have happened.
Like I really wish that that.
And had you have been able to see you, had you at 36 have been able to see you at 12,
you'd have picked them up and given them a hug and said, I believe in you and you don't deserve this.
But it needs to happen to you.
It was meant to be.
Now, I don't believe like everything's meant to be.
I think situations are meant to be and then it's our job to choose how
we're going to use them or be used by them, right?
I think that's the difference.
But I think, you know, we get easy times and tough times.
Why is that important?
It is incredibly peaceful if you've done the job in the beginning because you know who you are.
Now you have an amazing life.
It is hard.
It's hard when you're young to wake up in the offseason at 6 a.m. to go train and work out,
knowing that all your friends are sleeping in and eating pancakes.
It's hard when you're on your way to practice, way down with all your gear, and it's 90 degrees out, and all the other kids are at the pool or at the beach.
It's hard to throw, catch, block, and tackle, and hit kids when they're way bigger and way more developed than you, only to go home that night bruised and battered and strained, but no one you have to show up again the next day for just the chance to try again.
But understand this, life is hard.
No matter who you are, there are bumps and hits and bruises along the way.
And my advice is to prepare yourself.
Because football lessons teach us that success and achievement come from overcoming adversity.
I remember being downstairs for like the fourth round and I came and gone.
And the fifth round, you know, was coming.
and going and all these other guys were getting picked and and it was hard I remember taking a walk with my dad and mom around the block sorry about that it was just a tough day you know you know finally when the Patriots called I was so excited you know I was like I don't have to be an insurance salesman you know all those experiences that we think are the hardest things in our life end up being the best experiences are in our life because if you have a
approach it with humility and you look inward, they become the best opportunities for growth and learning.
Because I developed this work ethic in high school and I realize, man, if I want to be good, I got to,
I got to wake up in the morning and I got to do the extra work. And I got to show up when other guys aren't.
And I've got to learn. I've got to continue to be open to learning. To be successful at anything,
the truth is you don't have to be special. You just have to be what most people aren't.
consistent, determined, and willing to work for it, integrity, purpose, determination, and discipline
that it takes to be a champion in life. No shortcuts. It was a tough battle for me. It was a tough
go. It was tough in high school. It was really tough in college. If I want to be the best,
I got to beat the best. And this is where the best are. I said I wasn't the prodigy. I learned
about work ethic. I learned about resilience. I learned about gaining the trust and the respect of my
teammates and coaches. I learned about how to dig deep within myself a long way from home without a ton of
support to still try to find a way to succeed in this situation that I really wanted to be in because
it was the best for me anyway. Focused on what you can control. Focus on what you're getting, not what
anyone else is getting. Go out there and treat practice like no one else does. And I did that every
single day. I didn't care about going to all these different places and doing those things. I just
wanted to be my best. The team believed to me, I didn't want to let them down. What's the choice
you get to make every day to wake up and say, all right, this is where I'm going to focus my time
and energy. How discipline are you to maintain that routine over a period of time? And I think
that will determine your level of success. Be proud of that man that wakes up every day and
does the best that you could do with his priorities. But you always, you always, you always, you always,
have an absolute killer instinct where I'm going to show you, I'm going to prove the way to see what I'm going to do. I'm going to kill this guy when we face them.
Was it always like that when you were in high school or that kind of developed later on?
Yeah, I think it developed over a period of time. And I think there was a work ethic that was in me.
But I was never, I would say, like a prodigy. I didn't have the arm that could throw the ball 80 yards.
I didn't have the speed that Michael Bick had. I didn't have the size that a lot of guys had.
But I did have something inside of me that no one could see from the outside, this level of discipline that I could accomplish something that was really important and really special.
I wanted to be a great football player.
If I was going to be a great football player, I wanted to compete against these other guys.
And they were all better than me.
Don't worry about all these things that are out of your control.
Focus on what you can do.
Focus on the two reps you got.
Fuck your tired body.
Fuck that unmotivated mind and get out there and do it anyway.
And the mindset is, me versus me, it's no bullshit.
It was all about not making excuses.
It was about how do we go and get it done.
I was so motivated to be the best I could be that it wasn't, I wasn't motivated to be the starter.
I wasn't motivated to win the Super Bowl.
I just was motivated to give my best, do the best with the opportunity I got,
and to never let my teammates down.
Those were my motivations.
I think you wake up every day
and hopefully you can look at yourself and say,
did I give it my best?
I wanted to be the best I could be, period.
That's all I wanted.
I just think winning Super Bowls
was the result of a lot of great process.
Like my view is like you can't control the outcome all the time, right?
Like the ball's going to bounce the other team's way.
Like shouldn't always go your way.
So you get motivated by the losses.
You stay motivated through the winning.
What you can control is your process.
You can control those intangibles.
You can control the work ethic, the consistent discipline,
your attitude, your culture, how much you care.
All those things are in you.
They just need to be drawn out of you.
And really, when you're in that position that you feel like you've got those pretty well under control,
then you start passing those on to the other people that you're working.
with that are parts of your team because I don't care how good any one of you are sitting out there
it doesn't matter unless you got a great team around you you know you could be great you probably
are great you need a lot of other great people to support you it takes so many people to get to
where we get in our life yeah I was there doing some of the work but couldn't have done if I didn't
have them when I was a quarterback I was just playing quarterback yeah it was me the person but it was
it was me the quarterback that was out there because I was doing a job I wasn't the father I wasn't
the dad out there I wasn't you know the husband out there I was the quarterback out there on the field
I was a quarterback when I went to work nothing was going to get in the way of that you've got to
create a lot of different emotion to to height your sense of awareness and focus like for me anger was
good anger was good because it was motivating the more I could create an enemy the more I wanted to go on
kill those guys. Now, I knew I was going to kill them physically. But man, if I could just,
what did they say? You know, and what did they look like? Do they disrespect me at all?
Those are little, little things that can get me right in the emotional frame of mind that when I ran
on the field and I said, let's fucking go. It was really, let's go kick some ass. That's what we were doing.
This is the moment. Right now.
let's get to work. The fundamental belief is I'm giving myself to something greater than myself,
something greater than me as an individual. If I look at that journey from where I was as a kid,
I had my parents that were in my life to support me every step of the way. I had my junior
varsity football coaches, my throwing coach and mentor. I went to Michigan, I had coach Carr
challenged me to say, those who stay will be champions. So I stayed. But don't,
think that you're going to have a lot of success if all you do is care about yourself you don't work
that hard no one's that accountable but in the end what is culture mean to me do we care about each
other and do we care about what we're trying to accomplish most people just care about themselves
well that's a lot that's a lot of consistent discipline it means that you got to do a lot more right
than wrong it means that you got to make a lot more good choices than bad choices it means you
have to be more disciplined than not discipline.
Physically, mentally, emotionally, all those little things add up.
The man in the glass, that's the one that motivated me.
He's the guy I was accountable to.
Nothing that anyone did took away from me.
The only person that could take away from me is me.
Why is it that most people don't pursue their dreams
or don't do better than what they're doing if they're capable of doing it?
I think that many of us don't go the next step because we don't know what to do yet.
And I say that the reason that we don't even explore the possibility of what to do is because subconsciously we don't believe that it can happen for us and we don't believe that we deserve it.
So here's what I'm suggesting.
How much time do you spend working on you?
How much time do you spend every day working on your dream?
In the last 90 days, how many books have you read?
In the last year, what new skill or no?
knowledge have you acquired? What kind of investment have you made in you?
So I'm saying that as you begin to look at where you want to go, if you want to make it today
and things are changing so fast you have to literally run to stand still, I'm saying that you've got
to make some conscious effort to begin to work to develop you. Here's something else.
Most people are not living their dreams because of fear, ladies and gentlemen.
fear, limited vision, and lack of self-esteem is what keep most people doing things they don't want to do.
The same reason that people stay in relationships where they abuse or their unhappy or it's unfulfilling,
they can't see themselves beyond that relationship.
They can't see themselves enjoying life without that person.
They think that this is all that they can do.
The same reason that people get stuck at a certain level in life, they can't see things being better.
for them and they think that this is it and this is all they deserve this law they've ever seen
has been passed on to them and they think that this is it for them fear kills dreams fear kills hope
and i ask you a question what is the benefit what's the benefit of allowing fear to hold you
back what's the benefit of giving up on yourself of not stepping out on life and taking life on
What is the benefit for you?
What's the plus in that?
What do you want me to tell you?
That it's going to be a picnic?
No, it's not.
It's going to kick your butt?
Yes, it is.
Are you going to want to die?
Yes, yes, that's a part of it.
But that's just what you must go through
in order to get where you want to go.
And guess what?
You are strong enough to do it.
You're strong enough, and your life is worth whatever you have to go through.
to get past this addiction, whatever you have to do.
This dream you got, whatever you want to do, will it be easy to just run out there and do it?
No. Will it happen overnight? No.
Will it be a struggle? Yes.
Will there be times when you can't make ends meet? Yes, that's a part of it.
Will there be times you won't know what to do?
Yes, that's a part of it.
So deciding as you look at your life, as you look into the future and say,
what fears?
Am I holding on to what fears that I'm allowing to imprison me?
That's keeping me from breaking out.
That's keeping me from living up to my true potential.
That's keeping me from really being happy.
That's keeping me from having a sense of adventure and excitement in my life.
What's keeping me from controlling my destiny?
Whatever you've done up to this point in time, your life is working.
Whatever you have produced
It came out of you
As a result of the kind of person that you have become
It's a result of your choices
It's a result of your consciousness
Now you have to ask yourself
Are you satisfied with what you have produced
Is this what you want
Would you like for things to be better than this
Do you believe that you deserve better than this?
Are you content? This is it
You don't have to do anything else
That you already resign yourself in life
You say well I'm happy
Are you allowing yourself to get off the hook like that?
Or do you believe somewhere in the back of your mind or in your heart that there is some other great work for you to do?
There's something else that life has for you.
And that's why you are here.
How do we handle this fear factor?
How do we increase our self-esteem?
You have to begin to fortify yourself.
How do we do that?
I believe that you have to begin to consciously monitor your inner conversation.
and start talking to yourself.
Start building yourself up.
Sometimes the only good things you will hear about you are the things that you say to you.
So I'm saying learn to be your own booster.
Stop building yourself up.
Start encouraging yourself.
Start saying I can do this.
I can make this happen.
Go forth in a spirit and a knowing that there's a way that you can begin.
that you can begin to handle this.
There's a way out here somewhere.
There's a solution.
What it is that you're seeking,
that you have the capacity
to whatever comes up,
to handle it, to face it.
And rather than feeling powerless,
you begin to feel powerful.
Your dream and your gifts
have so much meaning and so much value for you
till your hunger for them
will begin to push your past the field.
Your hunger to have them will give you a special drive.
As you work on yourself, as you begin to acknowledge your true identity, the true power that you have,
the true capacity you have to bring about change, the miracle working power that you have within yourself
to do the things that you want to do.
When I started thinking about becoming a speaker, I said, yes, I can do this.
I can make this happen.
When I start trying to convince myself, I can be a businessman after flopping and failing and losing thousands of dollars and feeling stupid and dumb.
And having people take advantage of me because of what I didn't know.
I had to talk to myself because people were saying to me that I was dumb.
And somewhere in the back of my mind, I was saying, you're right.
Look at what I've done.
I had to say, no, no, no, no, no, no less.
Hey, hey, come on, man.
Get yourself together.
You can handle this.
You just haven't figured it out yet.
It's all right.
This is your training period.
This is the tuition you have to pay for what you don't know.
You can do this.
Other people have done it.
It doesn't take an Einstein.
Get you some people that can teach you some stuff that you don't know.
Get you some people that have done it successfully and learn from them.
Take some seminars, workshop, read some books on how to manage your business.
Change the way you see yourself and begin to tend to the personal details.
Understand that nobody's going to take care of your business.
better than you. See, we all have some stuff that we've been given. I don't think that it's
optional for us to sit on what we have. See, if you're sitting on what you have, what you've been
given, I think everybody's been given something to bring to the planet. That only you can do that,
only you can perform that, only you can initiate that activity. And if you don't do that,
if you're not filling in your life with your life work or your mission, then there are gaps
in your life.
And what we do when we're not living out our true identity, we begin to fill the gaps.
We fill the holes with garbage, alcohol, drugs, worry, self-destructed behavior.
So when you begin to look at your life and you know that you're not doing what you can do
because you have allowed yourself to be held captive by your fears.
Now, when you don't have a true appreciation in acceptance for who you are
and you allow yourself to be immobilized by fear, what happens in the process is,
but you begin to abuse yourself.
You begin to sabotage your life, you begin to sabotage your dreams,
you begin to unconsciously work against yourself.
You become your own worst enemy.
So what do you do about that?
Two people who have decided within themselves, I'm going to make it.
Some people aren't waiting to be cut.
Some people are moving on their own because they feel within themselves.
I've got what it takes to make it.
They're not afraid about tomorrow because of how they see themselves,
because of what they feel that they deserve,
because of what they feel that they can create for themselves.
Because these people have decided, as they look at the future, as they look at themselves,
there's a way where there's a will, there's a way for me to begin to create a way out of no way.
And when you have that kind of consciousness, when you have that kind of spirit, nothing can stop you.
Nothing.
I think courage is the quintessential trait that leads to every person.
everything else. You have to first have courage. You have to have courage to quit your job.
You have to have courage to get rejected. If you don't first have courage, nothing else follows.
Again, it's not, are you courageous or not. It's how courageous are you? It's not a binary.
I have courage because I have done things that have required it.
It takes courage. It takes courage to have a difficult conversation. Growth takes courage.
Learning takes courage like this takes courage. Courage isn't for somebody else for
applause of moral debts. Courage is what at that moment feels most right for you.
One great philosopher says cowards die many times before their deaths, the valiant never
taste of death but once. What does that mean? That valiant people aren't afraid? No, no, no.
It means that they experience that, fear, and they move forward.
Move forward anyhow. Many people are dead now. Many people allowing their dreams to die.
Many people have lying the ideas to lie dormant and collect dust.
Many people have all this talent and ability that they are lying to be buried inside of them,
that they will take with them to their graves because they didn't have the courage to be who they are.
And I say as you begin to look toward the future and manifesting your greatness,
it's going to take everything in you, everything in you, that your life deserves to concentrate it,
effort to begin to look at how is it that I can express more of me. How is it that I can bring
my ideas out here now? How is it? And start living with a sense of urgency because you're here
today. You're gone today. Life is unpredictable. It's uncertain. There are no guarantees. No
guarantees out here at all. So holding back, what are you waiting on? Ask yourself, what's the benefit
of your waiting? What's the benefit of you're not living your dream? What's the benefit of you're not living your
dream? What's the benefit of not listening to yourself? And for many of you, the reason why you
haven't gotten up yet is because you still think failure is final. Fear sedates us. Fear immobilizes us.
Fear imprises us. You've got to break out of that prison of fear and see yourself winning in the
same place that you lost. Show me somebody who.
who has achieved greatness.
And if you pull up their past, I promise you,
you'll see some failures and some lessons learned.
If we can change our perspective on failure,
our lives will never be the same.
Stop telling yourself you're not good enough.
Stop telling yourself you don't have what it takes.
If you want your future, get off now!
And I'm gonna try this again.
And I'm gonna try it again, and I'm gonna try it again.
I was made to walk in purpose.
and to fulfill destiny.
I was not created for the prison of fear.
Courage is the most important of all the virtues,
because without courage, you can't practice any other virtue consistently.
It's an emotion that you can't fake.
If you fake bravery when you're terrified, that is bravery.
Well, you should be afraid of taking risks and pursuing something meaningful,
but you should be more afraid of staying where you are if it's making you miserable.
It's making you miserable.
Winning will cost you everything,
but we'll reward you with so much more.
It's going to cost you everything.
Courage is something that rubs off on other people.
I think it's enormously to be desired
to be around courageous people.
And that might be different types of courage,
some of it physical, some of it mental.
Surround yourself with courageous people,
or at least not cowards, not cretons,
not the sort of people who just say the same things
that everyone's meant to say.
and so. There's many ways people can get out of this non-life that they are being shunted into.
Can you do what is required to fulfill your purpose? Can you do what it takes? Can you implement?
Can you execute? Are you disciplined? Are you principled? Do you possess courage to walk in purpose
and to fulfill your destiny? What would your life be like if you decided to become courageous?
What would your life be like?
If you decided to act on your dream, if you did what you felt in your heart, you know what courageous means?
Courage comes from a French word, which means of the heart.
You know, it takes courage to live.
Since most people go through life, not allowing themselves to step out because they don't want to let go.
They don't want to be blown around.
They don't want to be moved.
The courage to face life's whirling wind of contradictions, the courage to love yourself, the courage to take a chance, the courage to be who you are.
Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding, be brave, be strong.
Come out of the dark and end to the light with everything that you have.
Run after it.
And you keep giving.
and you keep pouring and you keep believing and you keep pushing.
It is not the critic who counts, nor the man who points out how the strong man stumbles,
or whether doer of deeds could have done them better.
The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena,
whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood,
who strives valiantly, who comes up short again and again and again,
who in the end knows that.
a triumph of high achievement and who, at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring
greatly. Please listen to yourself. You know the feelings. If you start listening to the feelings
in your heart and I'm doing it now more every day, I find that my feelings, I can trust them.
And I say to you that as you look toward the future, you look at life on a daily basis,
if there's something that you have been given,
if you've heard something within yourself
that you know that what you're doing now
it doesn't fit for you, it doesn't work for you,
it's not giving you what you want,
and there's something else that you want to do,
don't allow that inner doubt in you to talk you out of it,
to build a case on why you can't have it,
to tell you why you're not good enough.
You ignore that inner voice
and all of the external voices.
Don't judge the possibilities for what you can do.
based upon the circumstances.
Because the circumstances won't determine who you are.
Don't determine what you're able to do based upon your resources.
Don't determine what's possible for you based upon where your life is right now.
Where your life is right now is not you.
That's just what it is right now.
But the possibilities for you are unlimited.
If you're in a rebuilding process, it's unlimited.
If you're coming back from adversity and devastation, it's unlimited of what you can do.
That's the capacity of human beings.
It doesn't matter how many mistakes you've made.
Doesn't matter how many plots you've had.
Doesn't matter how much money you've lost.
In fact, I see it only as an investment of what you learned from life, not losses, but investments of what's possible for you.
Once you start listening to yourself and as you begin to act on your dream,
as you start just trying to find your way doing what you can, what you have, you will start
seeing things opening up for you. You'll start attracting people. You say, where do you come
from? Things will start coming together, clicking for you. You say, whoa, you start brainstorming.
Ideas will come out of nowhere as you focus on it. The key to it is to begin to focus, because as you
focus on that which you want to do, that which we focus on, that which we give our energy to,
it will begin to multiply, it will begin to expand, it will begin to develop your consciousness.
And out of that comes your greatness.
Out of that comes a commitment.
Out of that comes a passion for life.
Out of that comes a special power that you have in you, that you haven't even called on yet.
See, the powers that we have will never reveal themselves if we don't challenge them.
If we don't put ourselves in a position where we have to use them.
And the guy said, put yourself in a position where you can't retreat,
where it's do or die, sink or swim.
Here's what you'll find out.
You'll develop incredible swimming skills.
Or swallow half the pool of life.
You'll find yourself stroking unlike you've ever seen before.
Through the inspiration of desperation, you become more creative than ever before.
All you can do is all you can do and all you can do is enough.
Sure, you do all you can do.
So as we look at the future, we can decide that from this day forward, as I look at my personal
relationships, if I look at my professional relationships, if I look at my family relationships,
as I look at all the dimensions of my life, looking at myself mentally, emotionally,
and spiritually, I'm going to do all I can do to develop me, to bring my talent out here,
to make a contribution to life.
Here's what I know about you.
You've got greatness within you.
As you look toward the future and developing your greatness,
begin to know that your life is worth the effort.
Is it easy? No.
Is it worth it? Yes.
Yes, your life is worth it.
You might have failed in the weight room and you might have failed for it.
and you might have failed financially and you might have failed in school.
It doesn't matter where you fail.
I need you.
I need you in this moment.
And get up and try again.
Can I ask you a question.
Are you that person who sits there on the couch for hours just scrolling through social media?
Are you that person?
At work, you're just looking at the clock and you can't stand your boss.
Are you that person that's always making excuses and always justifying?
And you're expecting this big life.
You're expecting big money.
You're expecting to go to that next level.
And then everybody's fault for yours.
You're talking about your mama.
You're talking about your daddy.
You're talking about your neighborhood and how you grew up.
You had all these excuses to justify exactly where you are.
I'm talking to you right now.
Is that you?
You could have changed.
You could have transformed your body.
You could have better your relationship.
You could have changed your career.
You chose the life you're living right now.
My question to you is,
are you going to choose to do it again for another year?
year, are you going to take action or are you going to waste another 365 days?
It means staying dedicated to your mental because you know that when you have the mental fortitude,
nothing will break you.
It's your year and I need you to eliminate any doubt.
I need you to eliminate any fear and go get it.
Focus. Lock in.
And your life stop being a spectator and start being a participant.
Whoa!
Stop being a spectator in other folks' life and start being a participant in your life.
Stop being a social media groupie, being a spectator in everybody else's life and become a participant in your life by doing two things.
Trust me, read a book once a week and that could be a powerful transformation of.
Go and get a certification, go back to school, man, get smarter, get brighter, become an expert.
You choose the two things you do.
need to do. We already know, but if you can do these two things consistently, my friend,
and lock in, this next year is your year. It doesn't matter if you feel like it. It doesn't matter
if you enjoy the task or not. If you want the results, show up and do the work. The only
thing you have ahead of you is a bunch of blank pages. Your story is still waiting to be written.
The best part of that, you are holding the pen.
So get writing and get doing, get building.
It's never too late to start creating the life you always wanted.
Are you ready to stop procrastinating, to let go of self-doubt and push through rumination?
Are you ready to move through every challenge and become the person you were always meant to be?
And once you create this mental fortitude, you'll find,
out that you're capable of anything that you want to achieve, my friend, to push past that
diagnosis, to make it through school, to push past and pursue your business despite
what anybody has to say.
Stop waiting on outside forces, external forces, to write your script, to write your narrative.
No, that is up to you.
you don't change, you choose. So if you are going into 2025 and you don't like your body and
you don't do anything to change it, you are choosing to live there. If you're going into 2025
and you don't like your relationship, you don't feel fulfilled, love and happy, and you don't
change it, you are choosing to stay there. If every day you dread going into work because you
hate what you do and you want to pursue a different passion, but you don't change it, you are
choosing it. And the beautiful thing is that you have all the power within you. You don't need me,
you don't need anybody else to tell you what you're capable of. You just need you. Lock in. Focus.
If you keep talking and never doing, you're going to get exactly what you got each and every year
before. Nothing. If your if ain't strong enough, you'll never get to your then. Lock in.
You can get anything you want. No breakdowns. Only.
breakthroughs keep pushing keep grinding keep striving and you will see where your life takes you
heights you never thought you would reach places you never thought you would go your bank account
on extra large your life on inner peace your life on serenity your life on get up get out and get after it
this is a great year lock in stop wasting
your time, being a spectator in somebody else's life, and start becoming a participant in your
own life by having good habits and good rituals and simply doing the two powerful things
that can be transformational for you, because I know this is your year.
The life you want isn't out there somewhere. It's here. It's in your power to create it.
You need to understand. What you don't change, you choose.
Are you going to yell at that morning person that makes you sleep in every day and say it's time to change?
Are you going to go into your work with a different mentality to get that raise or get out of that situation and start your own business?
Are you going to step up or you're going to fall down?
Right now you are faced with a choice.
Change or remain the same.
You see, my friend, there's no such thing as negative self-talk when it comes the mental fortitude.
because all you think is finishing.
All you think about is persevering through.
All you think about is achieving what they say you won't achieve, my friend.
Because you created that wire.
You created that mental toughness within yourself.
And it won't break you.
Nothing will break you.
All gas, no breaks.
That's the way you live.
your life maximum effort maximum heart maximum soul if you want to blow up then you got to do two
things you choose the two things but trust me two things can be powerful one thing might be some
friends one thing might be getting up early one thing might be working out get your mind right
one thing might be reading books you decide your two things start believing in you so you can go into
2025 with an elevated mentality so you can go into 2025 with a driven mindset.
Do what you need to do on a daily basis. Matter of fact, do what you need to do the night before
to make sure you get up when you say you go get up and you do the things that you say you're
gonna do absolutely no excuses. This is your year, this is your time, this is your moment, I just
need you to own it. This next year is your year. All you gotta do is lock in.
What do you believe?
Because it is our beliefs that determine our behavior.
Your destiny is linked to your identity.
Everything that's coming in, everything that I believe, everything that I see will determine what I do.
This is why the dark room is so important.
Like if I don't put the work in, if I don't do what is required behind the scenes,
I'll never step in public authority.
If nobody's told you today, let me be the first to tell you.
Every single person listening to me is standing at the precipice of the greatest decision they could ever make in their lives.
For years, decades, generations, families will struggle.
Centuries go by in a bloodline and people, fathers and mothers make the same mistakes until the one.
Until all of a sudden within a bloodline somebody makes the decision to press a reset button.
And I just want to ask anybody listening to me, why not you?
Why not you?
Why can't you be the person that changes everything?
The innovator, the trailblazer, the disruptor, the person that makes a decision that I will not be the weakest link in the chain of a dynasty.
Why?
Not me.
Why can't you be the one that makes history?
Why can't you be the one that wins again?
Why can't you be the one that breaks cycles?
Why can't you be the one that overcomes the demons that have haunted a family for generations?
Somebody drop it into comics.
Why not me?
What is your purpose?
What is your destiny?
What is your assignment in this season?
Are you completely sold out to it?
Are you all in?
Are you willing to lay your life?
Life down? Are you willing to die to achieve it?
There is no tomorrow, there is no plan B. I am completely devoted to my level one priority.
Type it in the comments. Why? Not me.
You're talented enough. You're hungry enough. So do it. You're the first pick. You are the only option.
And there will never be another way.
That is you.
It's always been you.
You've got everything you need to go to the next level,
to obliterate glass ceilings and move forward.
It is possible that if you could just focus and stay committed and be determined
and direct your attention to what it is that you've been destined to have,
you can't have it.
Do not settle.
Do not think that where you are and what you see is all you will ever have.
have. There is more. But change doesn't always come to you. It comes from you. Decide that you want to
change your life. Decide that you know it's time. Decide that you've been here long enough.
Come to the resolve that you understand you are aware and you have accepted that you have been
broke and broken and weary and annoyed long enough.
The problem with many of you is that you are surrounded by people who ask you the wrong
questions.
This is why when you're making decisions to change your life, you can't talk to people
who are on your level because they're going to tell you it makes sense to stay here and
just make here better.
When you know there was something higher that is calling you, there's a big, you're a big,
better quality of life, there is an abundance, there is an expectation, a passion, a new life
that is calling you.
And everybody on your level would try to convince you to stay here with them because they're
stuck in a place called comfort.
Are you willing to be uncomfortable?
I remember back when I was cleaning toilets for a living and I would run into wealthy people
every now and then and oftentimes the reverberating theme that they would all seem to throw out is that
markets you got to make investments if you're going to be financially fit fiscally disciplined
you've got to pay to play you're going to make an investment i knew that i wanted something more
and i knew i was destined for more but i didn't want to accept the fact that if i'm going to make
money i've got to invest money when you start making these investments it's not going to feel
good. It's not going to make sense to anybody on your level. Whatever goal you have, your physiology,
your psychology, your relationships, your business ventures, whatever it is. And so the question is,
are you willing to leave this place called comfort? Are you aimed? Are you targeted? Do you
believe that you have what it takes to pay the price? But more than that, can you handle the pain
that comes with pain.
It is not going to be comfortable.
Are you willing to walk in not only uncomfortability,
but are you willing to walk in uncharted territory?
This means that I'm going to a place I've never been
and it's not going to feel good in the beginning,
in the Genesis, when we're first getting started.
But eventually, if I stay committed, I'll see a harvest.
If you're going to reap a harvest,
If you keep sewing sparingly, you will reap sparingly.
But the moment that you understand that there was a price to pay to get where you want to be,
it will cost you dearly.
It don't feel good right now.
I don't like it.
I want to leave it.
I want to throw in a tile.
I want to walk away from it all.
But I've got to be able to see the power of what lies ahead.
Today's pain is tomorrow's power.
the new life that you want, that you hold in your head that you only dream of, it will cost you your old life.
I got everything I need to go to the next level.
What is required to live the lifestyle that I see in my head?
Because I no longer want to live vicariously through someone else.
I'm no longer going to just sit around and like other people's pictures when I could be living that reality.
So it's not that I want your life.
It's that I understand that there's something more for me.
But the question is, am I willing to write it out?
Am I willing to see it, dream it, count up the cost, and then pay the price?
Most of us are not willing to pay that price.
And so we just go on living in the mundane, living in the monotony, living.
in a place where our money's unpredictable and our relationships are unpredictable. We're living in
anxiety and stress. All of you listening to me have the opportunity to be excellent in every
sphere and room and arena that you walk in. Do you know why you want to change? Because once you get a why,
you become dangerous. You are a person of vision and valor and discipline. You got this thing. Why?
Not you. Stop looking for everybody else to do it. Stop looking for everybody else to support it. Believe in it to hand it to you to point you in the right direction. You have everything you need right now in this moment to take a step forward. You've got to stop waiting for the opportunity to come along and you've got to learn to master the art and the privilege of creating the opportunity. Stop limiting yourself to what can come to you and focus on what needs.
to come from you, to create, to pioneer, to trailblaze.
The question that many people feel to ask is, not where do I get the money to get the life,
but who must I become to attract the money to get the life?
And so we need to define who it is that we must become.
Who do you need to become to start the business, to move into the new location, to start
traveling to make new friends to take up new hobbies and new investments and endeavors to
impact who are you going to have to become you got to identify those things that are holding you
back the places the people and the mindsets that are telling you you're not enough it will not work
turn back go back home who you must become is directly associated with what you have been called
to do do you know why you want to change
