Starting point is 00:00:00 Good seeing everybody. Say brother. The first super chats from Jay Burgs. He says, Connor, I don't know if you've seen the thumbnail of the show that you did with Sims today, but he makes you look like you're three feet tall. I can't let this Connor slander slide. Can't do it. I'll defend him.
Starting point is 00:00:12 I gotta do it. He is not three feet tall. I'm looking at the thumbnail now. God, that's a bad guy. Never say we don't listen to what you guys say. It's not true to show the people. We do pay attention. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:40 I got a little brood. I am three feet tall. He did get a little bro. You're not three feet tall. You can't deny it after that. It's just, it's like, yeah, it's what it is. It turns out Simps played quarterback in the NFL at 5-1 and I'm three feet tall. He did, he did, he did.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Okay. Yeah, dude. All right, we got to get into it now. We do got to get into it. We've had a lot of nonsense. We did the cold open twice. But you know, Albi makes a good point. I did posture mug him back.
Starting point is 00:01:09 You did. You did. No, that, that. That posture was, I mean, you knew what you were doing. You knew when the photo was being taken. You got to work with what you have. And you've got good posture. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:22 Thank you. All right, let's get into these regrades. We've got a Diego Pavia reference. We've got a move on. We've got to move on. We've got to move on. Yes, Peter Sims is a monster. Thank you for saving my reputation.
Starting point is 00:01:36 All right. So to start things off here with the regrading, re-ranking, these first round picks of 2025. We got a doozy at the top. Oh, God. Because it's Cam Ward. Yeah. And things are bad right now.
Starting point is 00:01:53 This is where I'm at with Ward. And I'm very curious to what you think about it. My immediate thought was to put him in the D tier for Ward. I continue to think about it. And I was like, man, he is playing for what I think is the worst organization. in the NFL right now. I think that's fair. That has done him no favors to help him out.
Starting point is 00:02:19 And this is also a quarterback who had promise and needed development. And he is getting, it feels like, very limited help in developing who he is as a quarterback. Certainly his rookie season did not go well. They fired Brian Callahan just after a handful of games, didn't even make it the entire season. You hire a very veteran coaching staff, but man, it just feels like the rest of that roster is not where it needs to be. Cam, I want to be clear, has not been good. There have been moments with Cam. I'm not saying that they've been totally devoid and it's been all a disaster,
Starting point is 00:02:51 but it quite simply hasn't been good enough. And you want it to be a lot further along for a number one overall pick than what we've seen from him. But it's also hard to sort of deny that this is a situation that most quarterbacks would not do well in when they are coming into the NFL. But he also has not been great. I would also say a defense of moving this from a D to a C is. is the Titans really didn't have any other options. Who else were they going to pick? I mean, maybe Jackson Dart,
Starting point is 00:03:22 but like in reality, were they going to take Jackson Dart number one overall? No, it was that already. No, they weren't. So I think all of that is the context that's in my head somewhere between a C and a D on the tiers here. But what do you think overall about regrading this pick? And let's not forget, Trevor,
Starting point is 00:03:38 the Giants called the Titans about moving up into this pick to take Cam Ward. So to even further emphasize, like, yes, the Titans could have done that, but I don't, that would have been really hard to sell at the time. But at the point being that Cam was really well liked, and this is a regrade, which is, you know, there's hindsight and there's all these things that go into it. But, I mean, it's a D for me as well because the problem is even in lower event environments like the preseason, Cam did not show growth. And that's concerning for me. Because when the bullets are flying
Starting point is 00:04:17 and the season starts and like there's a lot of environment issues of course in this in Tennessee. But he just has not refined the stuff he's had to. There's still times holding the ball. There's still being trigger shy of hitting open receivers. And there's a mistake like very, very novice. level mistakes at times too, where there's just no other way.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Like, I hope he can climb out of this. I really, really do. I'm rooting for Cam Ward. I hope things get better in Tennessee, but this is one that's, it's just gone very poorly. Yeah. So I'm, I'm totally okay with this being a D. I just, he really has not gotten a lot of help at all. And so I'm like, man, am I being too harsh there?
Starting point is 00:05:04 But I do think that he, you would have wanted your number of one overall pick quarterback to be better. And it was a weird class because I, had Cam Ward is by far my best quarterback in that class. And I still had a second round grade on him. I didn't even have like a late first round grade on Cam Ward. So what we're seeing, I kind of expected to get there. But even at the same time, I knew the Titans had to take a quarterback overall.
Starting point is 00:05:25 And I said, all right, well, if you're going to take one, you might as well take Cam. A whole situation has just been terrible. So we'll go with a D here for Cam Ward to start this one out. Travis Hunter. This one's tricky. Very tricky because I think Hunter looks great. great to start the season. On both sides of the ball, I think he looks pretty good. Now, they're still mainly using him as just a cornerback, but there's signs that tell you, hey, he's probably
Starting point is 00:05:55 going to continue to get in the mix a little bit of receiver. The thing is, they don't really need him to get in the mix of receiver. So what grade do you have for Travis Hunter, who the Jags traded quite a bit to trade up to get a talent like this? What do you think overall the grade should be? So the trade has to factor into this. That's only fair. I agree. Right now, it's a B because of that. But he's playing so well that it can trend towards an A or it's trending towards
Starting point is 00:06:22 an A. I mean, he looks great at cornerback in my opinion. And the fact that he can make plays for you on offense is really, really promising. So I'm comfortable with the B. I think his trajectory at corner, or he could be a top flight corner, can get him to an but just too early for that. Yeah. With obviously the trade being the curve that sets this backwards.
Starting point is 00:06:46 Yeah, I back, not backwards. I am with you. I would go with a B here, but I'm, I'm very excited to hopefully revisit this at some point because I'm sure we will. And this is, we're looking at an A, at minimum, maybe even it turns into an S tier. And I think the criticism of him not playing both sides of the ball. maybe more, could have been a little premature just to expect anyone to come into the NFL and be able to play both sides of the ball like that.
Starting point is 00:07:21 The more I think about it and the more I watch Hunter this year, I go, you know what? He's kind of right on schedule for what you would want to see and how good he could be as a corner and a wide receiver. He mainly plays corner. He's looking even better at corner. He plays, he moonlights at wide receiver and he's looking more explosive with sort of those package plays that he gets at wide receiver. So if we get into year three, year four of Travis Hunter, especially with him being hurt a little bit, his rookie year, if we get into year three and year four and this guy is playing both sides of the ball and anytime he's on the field, he's playing it incredibly well, then yeah, I mean, you and I love the aggressiveness for the trade to go up and get a unicorn type of a player.
Starting point is 00:08:01 And when I say we, I mean, just sort of everybody, not just the two of us, but we're included in that. probably shouldn't have expected unicorn-like snap counts from him his rookie year. I think he's right on track with living up to that unicorn status, especially what we've seen early from 2025. So I agree. I'd go with the B, but I'm hopefully excited to talk about this as an A or an S in the future years. Abdul Carter at number three.
Starting point is 00:08:28 I find this one pretty easy with how things have started the trend. I think this is an A. I think Carter's phenomenal. I know that he had a slow start to the year, but he's turned it on over the last couple weeks. He was in the news that felt like for the wrong reasons for the first half of last year, mostly whatever the late to meetings or sleeping,
Starting point is 00:08:50 whatever it was. And then quietly when the Giants were terrible, he was freaking awesome down the stretch last year. Yeah. So I think Carter is an impact pass rusher. Now things get a little harder when they lose Brian Burns, but he's ironically played his best football since they lost Brian Burns. I think Carter,
Starting point is 00:09:06 will eventually become the number one kind of pass rusher on his team that he was drafted to be. And his, man, like his movements out there are so hard to match. But when you look, the Giants did the right thing with this pick, that giving this anything else would feel, I don't know, a little exaggerated in my opinion. The only thing that I would argue is, is it an S tier? Because of how good he has looked. I think that's fair. I'm trying to think about half an S-tier today.
Starting point is 00:09:40 I wanted to be really careful with that, but maybe at the end we revisit and go, actually, this was the guy to put in there, but at least an A, for sure. I have two potential S-tier players. Okay. And Carter was one of them. Carter was one of them.
Starting point is 00:09:53 Okay. Just because- Why know your other one? Just because he looks that good. Again, especially going back to what we were talking about a couple of weeks ago, since Reese joined the team. and they're able to say, okay, R. Bill Reese, you're going to play the attacking offball linebacker spot. And Carter, we're going to use you as the pass rusher that you were destined to be.
Starting point is 00:10:16 And I think he's excellent this year. And he looks like a complete, you know, menace when he's trying to get after the quarterback. So I could understand at this point in time saying, hey, this is an A pick, especially for what you said. You know, last year it was a little bit slow, kind of finding his place along that giant's front. but man, I think even for a one and a half year sample size, if you wanted to call this an S-tier because they nailed the pick and there was nobody else that I think that they would have selected, I would be okay with that.
Starting point is 00:10:46 Yeah, the reason I won't put it in S-tier is that he did have a slow start. I thought he had a really slow start. And S-tier for me is like you just have been unstoppable and there's just no way around it. So S-tier potential. I like that lucrative. I see it in the chat. A-tier pick right now is. which is great for the Giants.
Starting point is 00:11:06 Mason Graham. Mason Graham, the next selection that we have here. Thoughts on Mason Graham, where do you go for the grade? So, Trevor, do you count that they moved out and got really great value in return to move back and get Mason Graham or just evaluate the pick in a vacuum? You know, I was evaluating the pick in a vacuum. I suppose if we did do that a little bit for Travis Hunter,
Starting point is 00:11:29 we should factor that in a little bit for Graham. But I think that when you're trading up for a specific player, I think that the trade compensation matters more for that evaluation of the pick than if you're trading back because you're trading back because you're trading back mainly because you're getting extra value, not because you have a specific one target player in mind. If you had the one target player in mind, you probably...
Starting point is 00:11:56 Oh, yeah, we did see. Well, okay, we'll go to Will Campbell in a second. We'll get to Will Campbell. We'll get to Will Camden on a second. We're talking about Mason Graham. So I would factor that in. I'm on a roll. Don't stop me.
Starting point is 00:12:07 Yeah, I like that. Nicely done. I would factor this in some, not as much as what we did for Travis Hunter. It's still an A for me. Mason Graham is. Oh, you think it's an A? Mason Graham is a foundational piece on your defensive line.
Starting point is 00:12:25 And before he got hurt, so much so that I really wonder if it would have been a different game for them in that monsoon against the Jets if they had him yesterday. I mean, and it doesn't matter. The Jets won and that's football. You're missing people. Jets are missing people too.
Starting point is 00:12:40 But I think he's that much of a needle mover right now. He's been a monster this year, a monster. The fact that they moved back and got him and got more assets. And he's just so impressive to me. He's a force up front. It's a shame he got hurt because he looked like he was elevating his game from his rookie season on such a different level. that and Mason
Starting point is 00:13:03 Grammy is not always going to be a production darling. Like when you just watch the tape, he is a total factor with how teams have to treat him consistently. And that's why a lot of the younger or unheralded players on the Brown Sprung were eating, I think, because of the attention he commands as well.
Starting point is 00:13:21 So an A for Mason Graham. I'm much more comfortable in the B tier for him than I am in the A tier. And that's simply because, I think the flashes of production have started more this year. But I do still think that the up and down is pretty different when it comes to the peaks in the valleys. I still think that there's moments where I wish he was a little bit better in run defense. The passers win percentage and the pressure percentage are much better this year than they were last year.
Starting point is 00:13:52 So perhaps it's sort of a curve of him definitely getting better. And I love Mason Graham. You know, I had Mason Graham. Yeah, I know you've always loved him. Top five players. So I had high expectations of him. I'd be more comfortable in the B tier here for Mason Graham from what we've seen a year and a half in.
Starting point is 00:14:09 But if you feel very strongly about him being in the A tier, we can keep him there. Well, the bump is probably the trade now. And what I will say is too, like, because I see people discussing if, you know, if he's as disruptive as Carter, one, people should realize the start Graham had compared to the Stark Carter had, okay?
Starting point is 00:14:29 this year. That matters a lot. And two, they don't play the same position. So yeah, it's different. I'm surprised. Like I thought it was pretty well known how, how out of the gate Graham was dominant this year to me. But I'll, I'd give it a curb to an A because of the trade. Okay. Like you said, Trevor, if we do it for Hunter, maybe we don't do it as much for a trade down, but you still do factor it in a little bit. Okay. All right. I, I, we can keep it here. You, you're very convicted on this. I am very convicted on this. So, all right, Will Campbell. I'll fold on some other ones. Okay.
Starting point is 00:15:02 Like a cheap suit. Oh, never cheap suits, folks. Will Campbell. What do we think of Will Campbell? Been starting since, obviously, right out of the gate for the New England Patriots. You know what I think has to factor in here for Campbell, though? Is the guys behind him, right? I have to.
Starting point is 00:15:22 I think that you, you, we have to be able to evaluate Will Campbell while also understanding that Armand Membu and Kelvin Baxter picked right after him, not far. after him. And they've been better tackles. So for that, I would give the Will Campbell selection a C. Me too. Okay. All right. So we're in line there because I'm not of the mindset that Campbell's this horrible offensive tackle. He's been solid this year before he got hurt yesterday. And I thought that he was for the most part, solid last year, outside of him coming back
Starting point is 00:15:53 and trying to play through injury. And obviously the playoffs exposed what he has yet to learn as a young offensive tackle in the league. But this year, he's looked better. He has certainly mitigated his weaknesses a little bit better. Now, in some of the plays that you've watched him lose or give up pressures this year, yeah, it's because he's not as physically gifted as some of these other guys. But I think he is a solid player. But unfortunately, I think that Kelvin Banks and Armand Membue have been better.
Starting point is 00:16:19 And I think that has to factor into Will Campbell being the first offensive tackle taken in this draft. Definitely. I know we're still working through some stuff on our graphics. ranked him not as a tackle. I know it said OT1 there. I ranked him with the guards. Right. Right. You echo everything I thought. I liked Membu and Banks better as tackles because I ranked them as tackles. I think Campbell was off through a really nice bounce back this year after he came back from the injury last year and had a horrible, horrible playoff. You know, maybe playing alongside, you know, AVT and just a more solidified line has helped him too. So I think that's really
Starting point is 00:16:52 promising for New England, but you're right. It would be foolish to just ignore the people that went after him and um you know obviously not factor that in so yeah just to see because he was the fourth overall pick in the draft right um brandon is saying t tier for t rex arms settled down settled down so he's challenging us because we've made tears on the fly before yeah yeah that's that's true not too many partner j mikey is is kind of saying like hey like see means adequate and maybe right that's a passing grade i think that people might look at sort of the Will Campbell discussion and they might say, well, hold on here. If he's been solid in a C overall, then shouldn't he be a D because he's not as good as
Starting point is 00:17:35 those other offensive tackles? I can see, and if you want to be a little bit more of a harsh greater in that regard, if you kind of wanted to argue that D tier, you could. I wouldn't though just because of how difficult it is to play tackle early on in this league. And solid is almost, I think that we're, we take solid for granted for him. I think he's solid compared to every offensive tackle in the NFL. I think for a rookie offensive tackle last year, he was above solid. And I think for a second year offensive tackle, he is still looking really good. So that's where I would, I would, I am more comfortable having him in the C tier, even with all of that context.
Starting point is 00:18:12 But I know some people are going to disagree and maybe want to have him a little bit lower. Right. And of course, the draft slot matters. When you're the fourth overall pick in the draft, solid doesn't make people happy. That's the reality. true to and that is true to you know so some guys become a victim of where they were taken and that's a tough part of the NFL but that's just how the game goes uh so many the chats is solid's like skyline chili we're wearing the shirt i'd be like skyline chili is anything but solid you either
Starting point is 00:18:43 really enjoy it or you find it future to even stare at i've never even had it that's incredible yeah you lived in Cincinnati for how long two years never had it And you know what? Bought this shirt the first day I moved, I was in Cincinnati. Yeah, I bought this. I love fellow Cincinnatiers. Essentially. But I could never bring myself to do it.
Starting point is 00:19:05 That's like moving to New York and buying the I love New York shirt. Yeah. And wearing it around. Hello, my fellow New Yorkers. He bought the Skyline Chili shirt on day one. I can't wait to get my favorite New York slice. That's literally what you did. That's an.
Starting point is 00:19:25 insane move. I can't believe you just said that. Yeah, yeah. I respect the honesty. I had to fit in, you know. I'm nothing, if not honest. Probably to a fault here on this show. This is like my story of me wearing my badlands had at the golf course and the guy starts talking away about how great badlands is and asked me when I went. And I was like, never. I just, this is a podcast. And you're like, everyone comes out to you. I love Skyline. She's stolen Baller. She's stolen Baller. You're like, everyone's like, oh my God, I'm dying for a... What, they even call it a cup of Skyline chili? It's just like a pile.
Starting point is 00:20:02 No, it's like, I think it's a plate, right? They just put it on a plate. It's a, it's just spaghetti and the chili on top of it. Yeah, with cold cheese. Oh, boy. Anyways, well done. Yeah. Nobody ever questioned your love for Cincinnati.
Starting point is 00:20:16 And if you were local. Offside said, F it. I'm getting Skyline later. Hell yeah. Nice. Glad it could motivate the, uh, taking off work. tomorrow to sit on the toilet.
Starting point is 00:20:26 Yeah. Have you seen that they do, they have it in cans? They have the chili in cans. That, what, when that comes out of the can, oh my God. I honestly think if I was in the apocalypse where you have to walk everywhere and I was looking for food and I came across the cans of Skyline chili, I'd be like, you know what? I'm kind of tired of this. Like, dude, walking around.
Starting point is 00:20:54 I'm just like No, no, no, standing around Dude, they weren't even According to you, they weren't even walking in Dune They're just standing around I think I'd opt out On surviving the apocalypse There's a lot of people
Starting point is 00:21:12 Skyline Chili including those in the chat Look up Skyline Chili ice cream? No, I can't be true No way Ash and Genty The Skyline Chili of Bax that's so disrespectful to Ash and Genty. In all seriousness, though, I mean, what grade do we give Ash and Genty here?
Starting point is 00:21:34 This is kind of hard because I don't think it's high. No, but thank God he looks a lot better this year. But then you have to factor in that there was other players they should have taken instead of him. That's the problem. At best, this is a C. At best. I have it as a D for Jen. I know.
Starting point is 00:21:52 It feels shameful putting him next to Cam Ward because at least. Genty is a useful football player right now. I think Genty's a good player, but, and DJ Gleys hasn't been terrible this year from what I've seen. So it's not like there's just like glaring offensive tackle need when you could have taken offensive tackle. But I think the glaring selection over him is unfortunately, I mean, look at the four picks that came next.
Starting point is 00:22:17 It's Ted McMillan. No, it's Armand Membo. It's Ted McMillan. It's Kelvin Banks. And it's Colson-Lubon. And I know Colson-Lubon's kind of. Ben, it's a D. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:22:27 And I know like the Colson Loveland one is it's a little bit layered because him and Brock Bowers would kind of play the same position. But like Loveland's also been incredible. So can you ever have like too many incredible players, especially the ones that are basically wide receivers and not tight ends? I look at Gentie and I look at a lot of the individual metrics beyond the offensive line this year and they're worse than they were last year. His mistackles force her down is his mistackles, his yard.
Starting point is 00:22:55 after force miss tackles are down. I think the offense is just better. So I think the things are more open for him because teams actually fear the passing game because Clint Kubi acts fantastic of what he does. And I like Genti. So that's why this kind of sucks. Oh, it hurts.
Starting point is 00:23:10 It hurts. I kind of have to. I had him in between a C and a D, but I ended up having him in D tier here. Yeah, no, you're not going to get much of a fight out of me. And I really like the player, but it's just not a. Jay Smooth said, remember when you mock draft where you took a tight in for the Raiders. Yeah, you're welcome.
Starting point is 00:23:30 I was right. Yeah, you're welcome. They laughed at me. Bowers, Michael Myers. They laughed me out of the building. You almost said Michael Myers. Michael Myers. Happy Halloween, everyone. Wait, doesn't, doesn't Gentie stand like Michael Myers? Isn't that the, the, the, the, yes, Halloween character, right? Yeah. So you were there. You were kind of there. I see where the brain was going for picking me up when I was trending down. That's what I'm here for brother but yeah i i'd put it in d tier you agree yes okay yeah all right it's it just hurts me because i really like jentie and i'm really i'm really rooting for this version of the raiders i am me too me too um or my membo your boy is i want you to start on this one why don't i have to start
Starting point is 00:24:14 see because everyone's like i'm a jet sky no now it's all set up for me and i'm gonna go on some spiel i'm gonna give some speech and then you're gonna come in like duane the rock johnson and he just like The music hits and it's just, hit the smell! And you're going to tell me like something about my candy ass because I had the whole analysis wrong. I think this is an A. Yeah, it's pretty easy this one. I think that this one's an A. I really liked Mbboos tape when I saw him as a rookie.
Starting point is 00:24:42 I've liked what I've seen from him in his second season as well. I just really do think that he's got all the tools to succeed as a right tackle in this league. I mean, he's got the size, he's got the foot quickness. The punches have good power to them. He can mitigate speed to power bull rushes. He can anchor very quickly. I really do think that everything is in front of him. And the reps that he loses, a lot of times it's very fixable stuff.
Starting point is 00:25:06 It's, hey, the hands came a little bit wide. Hey, you were a little bit unbalanced here. You tried to be on your toes a little too much. You were overextended. You got off balance. And a lot of that stuff will continue to come as he gets more snaps under his belt. But I don't know how you can look at this pick if you're the Jets. And outside of just maybe like total hindrance.
Starting point is 00:25:24 side of looking, you know, how good Tetro and McMillan it was or something like that. I don't know how you would have thought about picking anybody else here. So this is an A for me. Yeah, I totally agree with you. They nailed this slot. They fortunately, the teams in front of them that should have taken him didn't. And they had an interesting decision to make because they loved Tyler Warren. And there's a lot to like about Tyler Warren. But the Jets look fine at tight end between Sadiq and Mason Graham, where Membu was the bigger need at right tackle, because I don't know what they would have done, quite frankly, without him. And he was, the crazy thing about Mbhu is he was good from week one of his NFL career
Starting point is 00:26:04 when he went up against T.J. Watt in 2025, and he's been- Hell of a statement. Right. That's a hell of a statement. Yeah. So Membu is definitely in that class with Carter and Graham. Right after him is Tenteroa McMillan. This is an S-tier player for me. Wow. You jumped on that. Yeah, I think that I think McMillan is everything that you could want in a wide receiver one. He's a takeover player. As Bryce has grown, he has grown as the offense has gotten better. He has only gotten better. The more they put on his plate, the more he eats, essentially.
Starting point is 00:26:35 And when we went through our wide receiver exercise last week and we were putting some guys in the 2027 class up against, you know, players that were drafted in 2026, 2025, and I believe 2024. I said that McMillan was an S-tier wide receiver amongst this group because he is a true wide receiver one in the NFL. And so to get that type of player, that number eight overall in the draft, I have to, especially, especially because you remember the talk pre-draft? It was, it was all Carolina without question, without question. Jim Walker. They are going defense. They are picking a defensive player. And obviously, you know, the defense is, it's taken a little bit since they.
Starting point is 00:27:16 went with the McMillan pick. It's taking them a little bit to sort of pick up the pieces there. They had to spend a lot in free agency, but they did, and I think they're at a good place now. And you feel like you're in a great place because you got Tetrao-McMillan. So I would give this an S-tier for this pick at number eight. I'll join you on that. Tetero-McMillan is that alpha-wide receiver that every team's chasing,
Starting point is 00:27:33 especially when you have that kind of size and reliability. And it's funny to think back and how quickly people forget. Not only were the Panthers consistently given defense in mock drafts, Tederoa McMillan kind of dealt with some bullshit before the draft. There was a lot of stuff out there about him that didn't sit well with me. Doesn't love football, doesn't watch film. The whole gamut. Doesn't like this.
Starting point is 00:27:58 And how much more impressive is it if he actually doesn't like football? You know what? Good for him that he could be so good at something he doesn't even care about, apparently. And this was in credits of the Panthers because this wasn't some consensus pick. Everyone's like, oh, the Panthers should just take Tetaro and Macmillan. He's awesome. No, like, you know, I'm not, you and I mess up in the draft all the time, but you and I really never moved off of how highly we thought of Tederoa McMillan that whole year.
Starting point is 00:28:27 And it was puzzling to me the month of the draft that, I mean, there was times for people like, he's not going in the top 20. And I was like, what happened here? And so. What happened to the game I love? What happened in the game I love? So great for the Panthers, great for him. He was an awesome pick.
Starting point is 00:28:42 arguably the best pick of this first round, arguably. Kelvin Banks, pick number nine, New Orleans Saints. They needed an offensive tackle. They needed a left tackle. I'd also put Banks as an A. Yeah, this is an A. Even though I do like Mbou more than Banks, their pressure percentages are very similar.
Starting point is 00:29:02 I don't think that Banks has as high of highs in the run game, but I also don't think that he has as low of lows. And I think that being a little bit more stable matters and I think that there's value to that in and of itself. And I just think that they needed this player. They got him as OT3 in the draft and he's been fantastic for them as a left tackle. So yeah, I'd have this as an A. Me too.
Starting point is 00:29:27 And Banks was another one of those guys that he kind of went on the wild draft ride. Like it felt like he was highly thought of coming into the year and then he wasn't that highly thought of and then he ends up being a top 10 pick anyway and is a really, really good player in this league at tackle, which is so vital. So, and this was a need for the Saints as they were rebuilding their line and they did a really good job of it, in my opinion. And they nailed it with Banks. It's, yeah, him and Membu have had, ironically, like, pretty similar success paths.
Starting point is 00:29:58 And both, like, to see two tackles taken in the top 10 of the same draft and both kind of feel like easy A's is impressive. I was going to say both of them have very similar pressure percentages allowed in pass protection in a good way. I think that they've been rock solid. And again, when it comes to the run game, I think that I've seen Membu be a little bit more impactful, but I've also seen Membue have, you know, some swings and misses a little bit here as young offensive tackles do. I haven't seen as many from Banks, but I'm also not seeing banks, you know, mall people off the ball, even for zone runs and things like that. So it's just a little bit of more of a preference,
Starting point is 00:30:35 but I think both of these guys belong in that S tier. Colson Loveland was the number 10 overall pick here and he is next. Loveland, extremely slow start at the beginning of last year. And then from week 10 on, statistically speaking, the only tight end in the NFL better than him was Trey McBride. And like he was and he was close to Trey McBride in a lot of categories. He was a factor for them during the postseason as well. And this year, he's just not.
Starting point is 00:31:10 nearly as much of a part of the offense as no I thought he would be and man we've got a lot of people in the chat with varying grades here for colson loveland but your thoughts overall with him being the first tight end in this trap because I think him being picked above tyler warren does sort of go into this a little bit what what grade did you land on here with colson loveland a bee and it's a very perplexing one because the he's a he feels like a high variance player right now where like you said Trevor slow starts the career believe he's banged up it looks like during as soon as it basically got cold out last year it was like oh is this guy just going to be a top five tight end in the NFL now and he didn't even he looked like it I was like
Starting point is 00:31:57 he's he's the what they should run their offense through is how I felt when the season ended for the bears yes and then this year it's been a slow start I know they played some weird games you know, they had them one monsoon game against the Vikings. They had a game against the Jets where it felt like they never needed to throw the ball after the first half. But at the same time, you'd like to see him more involved and more productive. So Loveland is a B for me where a B with an incredibly high ceiling still. I think that's also where I'm going with him because his target share is just so much less this year. It's such a smaller percentage than it was the previous season,
Starting point is 00:32:42 but he's playing, funny enough, like more of the offensive snaps. Doesn't he have the most offensive snaps on the team? I thought I saw. Does he? I'm not sure, but through five games, he's played 85% of the offensive snaps. He played 65% of the offensive snaps last year, but his target percentage, like how often he is targeted,
Starting point is 00:33:03 and I think his yards per route run, what was his yards per route run? they've got to be so different. Yeah, it was, dude, it was a 192 last year, which is pretty insane for a tight end. It's 0.76 this year. It's just very perplexing his usage in this offense.
Starting point is 00:33:25 I don't think you can go any further than it be, given what he showed us after week 10 last year. If people want to argue A, because of what he has already shown us, I wouldn't push too far back against it, but I am more comfortable with him in the B spot, at least until we get a couple of games that remind us like, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:48 They're going to continue to make him a main focal point in this offense. We just really haven't seen that nearly as much. And it won't be shocking if we did this exercise at the end of the year. And when Caleb Williams is back and, you know, if Loveland kind of explodes again in the second half of the year. Blaze is saying is it perplexing, though? Caleb's out. Yeah, but we've already seen one game where Case Keenum looked fantastic.
Starting point is 00:34:10 Obviously, this past week against the Packers doesn't look good because nobody looked good for the Bears. Think of the three games. Keenham couldn't miss. Then Bayesian couldn't miss. And then they had an awful game against Green Bay. So two out of the three, the backup quarterbacks were hitting most of the throws they need to hit. I mean, Bayesian barely missed against the Jets. Yeah, he had 31 receiving yards against the Eagles.
Starting point is 00:34:35 in that game that that was the Keenom game, right? That was the that was the kingdom game. And then Bayesian started against the Jets the following week. And then Bajent started against the Jets and he saw nine targets, 57 yards. That was his yearly high. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:50 But then against Green Bay, yeah, I mean 19 yards on just two receptions. I just felt like he'd be much more of a vertical and dynamic presence. And so it's just a little strange. This is an A or a B to me, but I'm okay with leaving this in the B tier. Who's next? Michael Williams.
Starting point is 00:35:06 This one sucks because he started the first nine games of the season last year. And he was never going to be a great pass-fisher right out of the gate because, well, he was a great pass-forser to Georgia. So why would he be a better pass-fisher when he got to the pro level? So why I take him at 11? But then he tore his ACL. And now he just came back this week. So it's a smaller sample size.
Starting point is 00:35:31 11's rich for a player that doesn't rush to the passer. I would agree, although it was a team that really needed to get better in run defense, what grade do you have for Mike Laird? It can't be anything better than a D. It's just like, and I see it all. I agree with you. It's just I don't like the process of this pick. I'll throw away the injury, but guess what?
Starting point is 00:35:58 The thing that people don't discuss is if you want to take a developmental player, that's fine. but when you take a developmental player really, really early, you can't afford them getting hurt in a league that everybody gets hurt because then their development takes a huge halt. So that's part of the risk. You can't just act like, well, it's unlucky you got hurt. No, that's part of the whole conversation of when you meet
Starting point is 00:36:23 and get in a scouting room and go, hey, we love this guy because his ceiling's really high. We're understanding that he's developmental. But knowing a league that where everybody gets hurt, if a developmental player gets hurt, that that's going to really, really halt the progress and impact of this pick. So you don't get off the hook for that.
Starting point is 00:36:42 I did not like this pick. I hope Mikel Williams turns into a player for them rather than just an edge setter that you can go find on day five of free agency. Like that's the thing all the time. I see that all the time. Like he's tough in the trenches. He's good against the run.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Yeah, he is. He'll have a long career because of that. Yeah. But as a GM, you can go get that on free agency for a one year, million deal. Well, that's than that. One year, one year six million dollar deal. I don't know. I just, this was a reach to me and it hasn't gone in any positive way so far that it's a D. So I also think that this is a D. I think some people in the chat are like, hold on, if he's not an
Starting point is 00:37:18 F, then then why is there an F tier? There is a player that that I have in the F tier. We'll get to it a little bit later. But I wouldn't argue, by the way. I wouldn't argue. The only reason why I wouldn't put him in the F tier is because there's not really anybody else other than Jalen Walker, who is a very unique type of player that was sort of obvious, right? Like, yeah. Shemar Stewart's the next edge rusher that gets hit. That argument doesn't work. And that argument doesn't work, right?
Starting point is 00:37:52 Again, like Jalen Walker, if you want to make the Jalen Walker argument, obviously I think Jalen Walker has been a better football player. Now, unfortunately, he's also been heard. he's also torn his ACL. But like James Pierce Jr. was traded later, but James Pierce Jr. had the character issues kind of coming into the draft. And we'll talk about that when we get to the selection with him. You get into the second round, it's like, all right, Dona Mazzaraku,
Starting point is 00:38:15 who, again, like I like Dona Mazzaraku a lot. But again, the only reason why I wouldn't put this in F is because it's not like there were multiple options that they could have gone with that they picked him over that were clearly better. So I would leave this in D tier because of that. Disappointing, I also was with you when the pick was made. It was like, man, I don't really know how much this moves the needle for them. But from a draft perspective, like if they wanted another defensive lineman, specifically an edge rusher, because their defensive line was so weak,
Starting point is 00:38:47 it's not really, it's not like this draft was plentiful of those guys. And they picked Williams over one of those. Right. So who's next? Oh, Tyler Booker. Tyler Booker's next. I get Booker in A Booker is a
Starting point is 00:39:00 really, really good player the combo I guess is when you take a guard at 12 he better be a really really freaking good player and he is. I'd go A or B with Booker
Starting point is 00:39:11 yeah I was stuck right in the middle but I guess if yeah go ahead I ended up going with an A because I think that he's really good like I think Booker's a really good player
Starting point is 00:39:20 yeah it's the only way you can go with a B is if, and this is fair, you're just like, well, you better nail the guard pick at 12. That's why I could argue. Actually, I'm kind of talking myself into the B as I see Travis Hunter and Colson Lovewin there too.
Starting point is 00:39:40 But Booker is, there's no denying Booker's a really good player. I think this is a good. Hold on, I'm looking up the stats. I'm looking up the stats right now. I feel like his run blocking tape has been really nice. He's a damn good player. Really good run blocker. Pressure percentage a little bit higher.
Starting point is 00:40:07 for a guard. I'm okay with B. Okay. I'm right with that. Especially because of the guys that we had sitting in B. That's where you kind of have to start to distinguish it a little bit. If you're going to, if you're going to draft the guard at 12, I didn't, I didn't really think about that a ton when I was kind of going into him being an A. But yeah, I mean, if you're if you got a guard and you're drafting in the top 12, he's got to be really good. And I do think that he is really good. And maybe we again, we revisit this and we just go, yeah, man. And he's been an ass kicker for them. He's been exactly what they wanted. And I think he's well on his way. but I'm okay with him being a B. Kenneth Grant.
Starting point is 00:40:46 Yeah, Kenneth Grant is D tier for me. This is one of the easier ones. Yeah. Hasn't been healthy this year much and was not very impactful last year. He really struggled early. Now he got better as the season went on, thankfully. But man, he was tough out of the gate.
Starting point is 00:41:05 And I did not think he was going to be that bad out of the gate last year, even for a rookie playing in the trenches. also going back to something you often do which i think is really good context look at all the players they passed and took it took him instead yeah that part of it is is is tough um i mean pick your guy out of the next two i'd rather have zabel abuka that we could do this all day it's just i just didn't this pick's just not a very good pick yeah yeah i still have i still have faith in grant to be like a starter.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Yeah, because it's a D or an F, I think, this selection. Right. The fact that he's been hurt probably protects him from falling into the F tier. Now that he's back, he has a chance to, you know, hopefully prove us and everyone else wrong. Yeah. Tyler Warren. Tyler Warren is next year. So tight end two.
Starting point is 00:42:01 You get him at 14 because Colson 11 was picked at 10. So you're getting the second tight end off the board. I think Warren's been an A. Yeah, he was so good as a rookie. The Colts have a lot of problems this year that are probably hampering him a little bit. Sully said Raiders legend Tyler Warren. That's right, baby.
Starting point is 00:42:20 That's right. That is right. People remember. They'll never forget. The true mock draft. And Warren's been, and the other good thing about Warren is he's been everywhere.
Starting point is 00:42:34 They use him everywhere. He's a fullback. He's a sloth receiver. He's a fullback. back. He's an inline tight end. They use him in the wildcat. Like Tyler Warren is, is every, a lot of what you watched him be when he was at Penn State. The Colts was just like, hell yeah, brother, green light, here you go. And I think that it's, it's, it's, Colson Loveland has certainly had better flashes and overall production in the
Starting point is 00:42:59 receiving game when he is at his best. But to get Warren as tight end too and for as much value as he brings, I'd, I'd have him in the A tier. Me too. What's this, what's the snap count with him? Hold on. He's like alignments. No, no, no, no, no. Just like overall percentage of offensive snaps.
Starting point is 00:43:19 Let's see. Scepter said, Warren or Amari Cooper, who was a Raider longer? We'd have to do the math on that one. He played, Tyler Warren played 84% of the snaps as a rookie. He's playing 91% of the snaps this year. I mean, I believe it. They need them out there, especially with some of the injuries they've dealt with. I'm pretty sure.
Starting point is 00:43:49 I'm pretty sure the offensive line and the quarterback would be the only players who have played a higher percentage of the snap count. Oh, no, this is the wrong season. Hold on, 2026. Sorry. Fantastic podcasting, I know. Tyler Warren. Tyler Warren has played the highest percentage of snaps of anybody that is not the starting offensive lineman. And then obviously the Anu Jones as well, who plays every single snap.
Starting point is 00:44:16 Tyler Warren is next. you'll love to see it Tyler Warren's played a defensive snap they put them into safety on like a Hail Mary I said you didn't have to knock down a Hail Mary man never forget when Gromk had to do that against the dolphins you
Starting point is 00:44:32 you saying do that doing a lot of heavy lifting there do you remember the angle that he took and how poor it was and how they scored it was like a robot unplugged yeah it absolutely looked like a robot who's unplugged. You're correct. That was wild.
Starting point is 00:44:50 That was very tough. Okay. Jalen Walker. This one stinks because it feels like Jalen Walker was in for a monster year in that defense, and the injury just robs us of all of that after a promising rookie year. I have him as a beat. Yeah, I think that's the safe place to put him. Because he was good as a rookie.
Starting point is 00:45:10 When you watch this Atlanta defense, it feels like they obviously really need him, and they have a lot of speed, and he would have been a lot of fun. to watch. So the injury just kind of halts him at a B right now. Yeah, I was somebody who, of course, people who listened to this podcast for a while knows I was skeptical of J. And Walker, right? Just his overall role in this, okay, well, he's, you know, he's sort of an off ball linebacker. He's sort of an on ball linebacker. But we just, we think that he's going to have all this success as an edge rusher. And I'm, I feel like I'm just more skeptical than a lot of other people are when it comes to those specific players because we have the conversation
Starting point is 00:45:44 all the time. Are you virtual or you homeless? Do you have a home base? Do you have a home base position when things go wrong for you that you can lean on. And I was a little bit worried about that with Walker, who was not great in coverage when he was an offball linebacker. And he was a little small and isn't really built like an NFL ed director. But he really did look good his rookie season. And it is a shame that he got hurt because I think that he is a really good football player. So I would put him in that B tier because he does look good as a middle of the draft type of a player. Halfway through here with Walter Nolan, who didn't play a lot his rookie year due to injury.
Starting point is 00:46:16 When he did, the flashes were incredible. And now this year, Connor, I don't know how much you've been able to watch of him, but like he, he kind of looks lost. Like he, and banged up again. I feel like his, his block deconstruction is very,
Starting point is 00:46:32 very inconsistent. I think he gets, he's getting locked up way too easily with guys that he should be beaten one on one when he's got those opportunities. Some of the flashes are still there for him. But it's, it's definitely an inconsistency thing. for him there. So at number 16 overall, what's the grade here for Walter Nolan? Walter Nolan inconsistent against the run, still high end flashes as a pass rusher,
Starting point is 00:46:55 hurt last year, playing banged up right now. I think he was questionable recently. It's a C for me. I still want to believe in the talent, but he gives you some of those low-end moments as does Arizona's defense as a unit, which doesn't help him that are a little frustrating, but he has tantalizing potential still. Great word. Great word. Tantilizing. No, I'm with you 100%. I think that this is a C-pick, and I love Walter Nolan. He was, I believe in my top 10 for this draft just because of how unbelievably talented that he was. And certainly as a rookie, he showed major flashes of that. But you want to play in this league, especially on a defensive line that doesn't have waves of pass rushers,
Starting point is 00:47:38 you've got to be a lot more consistent than he has been. And so we definitely need that next step there with Walter Nolan. I think it's a good spot to, you know, shout at our friends over at Fire TV who are making sure that, you know, you guys never miss a game. We are here on this show to make sure that you guys never miss a prospect.
Starting point is 00:47:51 And I think it's a good transition because we just talked about Walter Nolan a defensive tackle. And the guy that I want to shout out here, the can't miss prospect, is Xavier Gilling from Tennessee. I mentioned him barely when we were doing the draft guide episode on Friday.
Starting point is 00:48:08 In case you guys missed that, you go check that out. And I was like, yeah, I got to his tape. He's good. He's really climbing up the big boards. Another week where he's looked phenomenal, man. The strength level, the athleticism that he plays with.
Starting point is 00:48:21 Dude, he's one of the best defensive tackles in this class, certainly from what I've seen this season. So, yeah, I don't know how much you've been able to get eyes on him, but Xavier Gilliam is a major, major standout player for me here in this college football season. I'm with you. He was hard to miss this week. Last week, I mean, for sure. and he's one of those guys that can play with power.
Starting point is 00:48:42 He can rush the passer. And Tennessee's, you know, a team that they don't throw the ball particularly well. They lean on their run game and find themselves in some defensive battles where they need him to stand tall. And he's caught my attention for sure. And amongst the defensive tackle class where a lot of the big names have not played up to their hype or standard, Gilliam is shooting up boards now because of that. He's only a red shirt sophomore. So young player, no guarantee that he's in this class.
Starting point is 00:49:10 But if he is and he keeps playing this way, we might have a discussion about the top of the interior defensive line class with Xavier Gilliam. He has been awesome. Starting point is 00:52:08 D at best. D at best. I would agree with you. And again, the only reason I'm not really... They don't even really seem that interested in playing him a lot anymore. Bro, I think he has like 17 snaps on the season? He played, I think, 16 or something yesterday. He hyper-extended his knee, I want to say, in camp, I thought.
Starting point is 00:52:27 But then when he was ready to come back this season, they just didn't really seem that interested in giving him a big role. This has been a disaster from the start. Chats yelling, How's not an F. They might be right, honestly. Yeah, that's fine. fine. We might need to put this in F here. I surrender, chat. I mean, I think we should simply because like, they're not playing. They're telling you they think he's cheats. You spent the 17th overall
Starting point is 00:52:51 draft pick on this player, only for a year later, you to spend big money on Boyamafe and then a second round pick on Cassius Howell because Shamar Stewart did not help you at all whatsoever. And now you are not even playing him to get on the field. Bullying does indeed work here. No skips radio. Yeah, no. I think this is an F now that we're talking. out loud about it. No, it's just the day of me being mocked and I'm fine with that. Sometimes you're the mug man and sometimes you get mocked. Just like sometimes
Starting point is 00:53:18 you're the windshield and sometimes you're the bug. I was wondering where that was going to go. When you started the phrase and you did, you did. It was a bumpy ride though. You did. I think this is an F selection though. The only
Starting point is 00:53:34 reason why I initially was like yeah, it's D is because again, there's not really players where Cincinnati wanted to get better at pass rush. Who's next? Like who's next in the 2025 NFL draft? Yeah, but this is a tale of just when you fall victim to that, take a good player instead.
Starting point is 00:53:56 No, and that's why that is the right take, and I do think that this is an F selection. Because the next edge rushes that we have are Donovanaziraku, who I think objectively would have been better. But then it's J.T. Tui Moloah, who hasn't really done anything. No. No. Nick Gordon is better, but he's her, unfortunately.
Starting point is 00:54:13 But he was the better player. No question about it. Family Olodejo, who was a total project of an edge rusher. And then you get into third round, and it's like Ashton Jalati. It was just a weird year for edge rushers. But yeah, I think that this has to be an F selection here with, with Shamar Stewart. Gray's able. I struggle with this one.
Starting point is 00:54:36 I don't think he's been great this year. now he was a really good pick for his rookie year where they won a Super Bowl. Yeah. I'm stuck between a C and a B. I ended up going with a B. And I'm fine with that. Because I think the year sample size for him in the Super Bowl season should mean more than him having a little bit of a sophomore slump here and struggling a little bit.
Starting point is 00:55:06 I mean, he's definitely. on pace to give up more pressures this year than he did last year, which you don't often say for guys who are rookies in the trenches versus their second season, especially when they're so successful as rookies. And so I think that we have to factor that in a little bit. That's why it's not an A tier for how good that he played last year. But I'd go with the B here for the same reasons of why Colson Loveland's in this tier. It's just a little strange.
Starting point is 00:55:31 It's a little strange what's going on to start this 2026 season with both of those guys who have played to A and maybe even. an S tier at times, but the start of this season just gives you a little bit of a pause and reservation. So yeah, I'd go with the B for him. Which brings us to a Mecca Abuka, who has kind of been a roller coaster ride of an NFL player. It felt like if you did this exercise, what, six weeks after his rookie season, you'd be an S tier player. Right. And I'm not all of this is his fault. There have been offensive problems that have limited him, I think. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:56:10 I don't, is he a little banged up right now, Trevor? Like, I know he had the tow thing in camp. He's been fine this year, but I don't think he looks at his full form right now. I actually don't know if he was on the recent injury reports. Even if, yeah. I guess it's, I agree with the chat that it's a B. I also think it's a B. Because I think I really like a Buka, and I do think the times where he's not productive
Starting point is 00:56:35 aren't always his fault. Mm-hmm. But it is interesting how the. perception of this pick has descended a little bit where it once was. Yeah. I also think that this is a B. If you wanted to argue a C, I could see it. But I think he's a better player than that.
Starting point is 00:56:53 And I think he's shown that. And he's been out there quite a bit. He is their top wide receiver option right now. And I think that he's been solid amidst a lot of chaos and inconsistency around him. So to get Igbuka at number 19 overall, I still think is good value, even if the rest of it hasn't manifested quite yet. I could understand people certainly as of late, wishing that there was more from him.
Starting point is 00:57:26 But I would say that this is much more of a B tier than a C tier for Egmec Aibuca. All right. Jade A Baron. Jade Baron. who played 30% of the snaps last year and is playing like 40% of the snaps this year. This has been very strange from the start. But the fact that hasn't drastically changed this year is the real alarming part. I agree.
Starting point is 00:57:57 But the thing is that when he plays, he's good. So. Yeah, you're not wrong. I put it in C tier. I put him in the C tier. I don't know if that's a coward's way out or what, but when he's played specifically this year, he's good. Well, it feels like he's had a good two weeks
Starting point is 00:58:18 because he's had to play, right? So, I don't know. A C is definitely the curve of when he plays, he's been fine. But like, man, you're the 20th pick in the draft and you can't get on the field. So you think you should be a D? Well, but I don't, that's the, okay, hold on. Let's let's have the question.
Starting point is 00:58:38 I don't think it's a, you can't get on the field. I just think it's a they want to play him in a bunch of positions so they don't have him as like a singular starter somewhere. Now, if you want to have the conversation about, okay, that's not really worth 20th overall. It's not. Maybe that's the conversation that we could have there.
Starting point is 00:58:58 He kind of is their nickel. Hold on. Because I looked up these snap counts. It felt like they took him a year early. and then we were like, well, next year he's going to be great. They're playing Jaquan McMillan in the nickel more than him. That's concerning. But it's because they play Johnny Barron in the nickel,
Starting point is 00:59:25 but then they also play him at safety. So it's almost like his versatility is to his disadvantage. Yeah, right. I'd be okay with Dee, though, because you want more from your first round pick, but I just, I think he's a talented player. I know. And the chat is kind of on it where,
Starting point is 00:59:42 they don't blame him. They just think this was stupid drafting. Who else would they have picked at the time? Because it was seen as a luxury pick at the time. I guess they could have gone with the defensive linemen, right? Because wasn't this the right before they were going to kind of lose a bunch of guys in free agency? So you could have gone with Derek Harmon. Well, they had JF, John Franklin Myers was going into a contract year when they took Barron.
Starting point is 01:00:05 And then he did leave for Tennessee. And I don't think their D-line's been great this year. You're right. It gets tricky because you do look at it and it's a pretty uninspiring group as a whole after this. They're saying they should have taken Golden, Matthew Golden for sure.
Starting point is 01:00:23 I mean, Golden was not great. His rookie season is only broken out recently. Yep. So, I mean, with that curve, I mean, if they lose people in free agency next year and Jada Baron comes in and starts and is fantastic for them, then would you still say that?
Starting point is 01:00:41 Probably not. No, then he's going to go way up the chart and this is the problem when you don't play it's hard to become it's hard to get a good grade yeah because they're wide receivers at the time in the beginning of april before the draft it was marvin mims junior it was corlin sudden devon fele who they should have clearly held on to um it's been good for the saints Troy franklin i mean yeah they definitely could have gone with a wide receiver here let me ask you this would you have rather had golden at 20 And then kept your draft pick this year instead of getting Jalen Waddle.
Starting point is 01:01:20 It's hard, right? No. No, I'd rather, I'd rather have Jodd A. Barron and Jail the Mottle. I think I agree, as odd as that is. Yeah. Let's look at that, and this is so easy to do in hindsight where it's kind of stupid. Like, who would they have taken? That's what I'm saying.
Starting point is 01:01:39 Yeah. Because their roster is interesting. Like, they could have taken Amory and Hampton. because Hampton was picked two selections later. Right. And obviously they have that workhorse running out. They're still searching for a run game.
Starting point is 01:01:59 It's an interesting one. I'll leave it as a D. All right. I like the player, but I'll leave it as a D. I'm a big fan of Jada Baron, but it's kind of hard when you don't get on the field.
Starting point is 01:02:13 So, who's next? Who is that? Derek Harmon. I had this as a C. Yeah. Uninspiring is how I would put it. Uninspiring sounds harsh. I just think he's been fine.
Starting point is 01:02:34 That's uninspiring. Yeah, maybe it's not. I don't, I don't, I think he's been disappointing against the run. Like I thought he would be, I would put it in a C and it's just, I don't know, maybe I expected a, when they took him, I was like, oh, this is going to really help them as they restock their defensive tackle room. and he's he's dealt with some injuries as well. There haven't been a lot of wow moments. Yeah, see. I wonder if Ty Leak would have been a better fit for them.
Starting point is 01:03:15 That's a good question. The chat's telling me he's great against the run. I don't know if great, maybe I'm just missing out on it. I don't think he's been great. But, although to be fair, I haven't watched yesterday's game where they shut down Jonathan Taylor. so he didn't play yesterday though I don't think I think he's been hurt again yeah he's hurt yeah he's hurt again which has been another issue with this yes it's like just a classic C I think C is fair I think C's fair for Derek Harmon oh Maringhampton um just got to keep the ball off
Starting point is 01:03:55 the ground as to the entire Chargers team it's so hard to not hindsight their offensive line issues. I know. You know, like, I don't think that Harmon's been, or I don't think that Hampton's been awful. He's certainly had his mistakes, but, you know, Donovan Jackson's picked a couple of selections right behind you. Josh Connolly and Josh Simmons are also picked later in this draft. Shit, they're not really that good at wide receiver right now when McConkey has a different injury every week. That's true, you know. Did they, and I mean, mean, their running back room was bad. I mean, it was Naji Harris and Hassan Haskins.
Starting point is 01:04:45 I know. So, I mean, they basically went into this draft and it was like, hey, we're drafting a running back. They got, okay, their O line at the time, too, because this is kind of tough for them. Their O line at the time is Slater at left tackle, Joel, the right tackle, Bradley Bozeman's the center, Zion Johnson's the left guard, Mackay Beckton's the right guard, Jamari Sawyer is they've got him as a backup. Man, it's just so hard to look at how their
Starting point is 01:05:20 O-line has been decimated. But clearly, like, it is just, it is not working out for them. I mean, are you thinking like a D for this pick? I don't think this is an F. It's not an F. It's not an F. I don't think Hampton's a bad player. I think it's the same combo we'd had with Gentie, ironically.
Starting point is 01:05:40 Yeah. It's just a different draft slot. Just both teams unfortunately weren't ready. to draft a running back in the first round. And you kind of thought, and you kind of thought you were. Yeah, that's the thing. And it's like, wow, we actually weren't.
Starting point is 01:05:54 But at the time, it felt like the chargers could do this. But it goes to show you how hard it is to get the value back on taking a running back that early. Yeah. And it's, it goes to show you too. Like, after Bejohn and Gibbs, everyone was like, actually, you could always do this. And then everyone's like, wait a second.
Starting point is 01:06:14 No, this is just one of the more unique running back duos in a first round ever. Yeah, I think it's a. D. All right. Let's put it in D tier. Let's go to D. Matthew Golden. Resurrection. I mean, he'd be a D after last season and now he's totally trending the other way. Yeah. I think I'd put him in B tier.
Starting point is 01:06:36 Me too. Yeah. He's got a nice year of Green Bay. He has. And the development trajectory is good. You know, people in the chat are telling us, hey, Packers, the Packers never play, you know, rookie wide receivers. That's just not what they do.
Starting point is 01:06:49 Now I got him in this. That drives me just nuts in this era. brother. Sure. When have you ever heard in the Lord's year of 2006 or 2025 after a wide receiver's taken in the draft, the first round?
Starting point is 01:07:04 You go, well, that's not what they do. They don't play these guys. The league's not like that anymore. Quarterbacks make $60 million. First round picks got to play, especially when they're a wide receiver. So that's just we got to lose it. We got to stop doing that.
Starting point is 01:07:18 He's great. We'd love this year. You know, I think he's awesome. I think that Golden is, filling a role that they've really needed in their passing offense, which is Christian Watson's the deep player. And Golden can also be a deep ball receiver, but more importantly,
Starting point is 01:07:35 he's sort of the yards after catch intermediate type of receiver for them. And for too many games, I feel like with Jordan Love, it's either been, okay, here's a 40-yard bomb or a checkdown pass. And there's not really any in between. And I think Golden's actually developing a little bit of that. in between for them. So I would give this to B,
Starting point is 01:07:56 and he's training in the right direction as well, especially getting him at 23 in the draft. You feel pretty good about that as wide receiver 3. So I think the Packers are really happy with what he's developed into this year. So, yeah, be for him. Donovan Jackson for the Minnesota of Vikings. He's been hurt.
Starting point is 01:08:18 He played through injury last year, but he played pretty well. He did. All things considered, they needed an interior offensive lineman, I think I'd also go be for him. I don't. I think so.
Starting point is 01:08:31 And the thing is with Donovan Jackson, when he's played, he's been solid. Right, right. Like really solid. And unfortunately, he just, he just tore his meniscus. So now he's out for the whole year. It is the full year. It's not the trim. I think.
Starting point is 01:08:45 That sounds like a full year. Yeah. But when he's been healthy, I think. It's the surgery. It's full surgery. And he played through a wrist injury last year. So I think that he's, he is what they have wanted from him. And you're getting him and it's a starting guard who was able to start very quickly
Starting point is 01:09:06 last year in his rookie season. You're getting it out of 24. I feel pretty good about that. I would keep him in the B tier. Although the injury moving forward obviously sucks. I don't want to take that too much into account though. Yep. Good player.
Starting point is 01:09:19 It's different when you take a guard at the back end of the round one. Yeah, good pick for Donovan Jackson. Jackson Dart. This is a tricky one. I think if he didn't get hurt, he would have a crack at Ted Roe McMillan's S-tier. So I think that I don't agree with S-tier. I know.
Starting point is 01:09:42 You never agree on Dart ever. I don't agree with S-Tee. However, however, however, however, I do think this is an A. I think he should be an A. Absolutely. Yeah. He's not playing so we can't put him in the S tier.
Starting point is 01:09:58 But Dart, at pick 25, they didn't even move a lot to give a lot up to go get him. He's been everything that could have asked for. It's a shame. Injuries are becoming a part of his career, whether they are bad luck or a trend. And he's had both.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Dart is really, really impressive, man. like he's really good athlete um he plays with confidence he plays with a different kind of energy when you take a quarterback at the end of round one this is a dream scenario for the giants and it's a shame he just he's he's not healthy i agree i agree even for somebody who is been and still has a little bit of skepticism for who dart is and how he plays the position long term what we saw from him last year and the very little bit of what we saw from him this year like i do think that this is a confident quarterback who obviously has the tools to be able to play at this level and be a dual threat guy.
Starting point is 01:10:57 And because of the success level that he has had, I'll put him in S tier. Or sorry, I'll put him in A tier here. But I, he did it. I don't think he is on Tets level. I'd be closer to B tier than I would be S tier. But I think that he is, at least from what he has shown a little bit, you can put him in the A tier and I'm okay. Yeah, S tier is pretty special.
Starting point is 01:11:20 and you can't be hurt and be in the F tier. It's just the rules. That's just the rules. We can be pretty quick at this next one. This is James Pierce Jr. This is an F tier for me. You're a year and a half into your career and you're already serving an eight-game suspension
Starting point is 01:11:36 for a three felony charge that includes a domestic violence incident. It's shocking that that's... We don't need to talk... It's not longer than that. Yeah. we don't need to talk about the sacks. We don't need to talk about the past between percentage.
Starting point is 01:11:53 You're a year and a half in your NFL career, and you are already serving an eight-game suspension for three felony arrests. How about the trade? Yeah, and they trade up to go good. Yes. Yes. Yeah. So that's pretty easy for me for James Pierce, Jr.
Starting point is 01:12:09 Yep. Malachi Starks goes 27th overall. Slow start last year. Totally. I think he started to figure some things out, and I think he's been pretty solid this year. The Ravens defense, though, does leave some to be desired right now. I don't think Starks has had the amount of impact plays you were hoping for when he was a huge prospect for us that year.
Starting point is 01:12:34 We talked about Malachi Stark. I remember going to like Miami that year in the top 15. So I land somewhere around a sea for Starks. I think I'd like to see some higher-end moments, but I believe in the player. What about you? I still like Malachi, or Malachi Starks. I almost said Malachi Fields. Oh, the Malachi Fields tier.
Starting point is 01:12:54 We just got to create the Malachi tier every single time that we do one of these. He's another Malachi. Chef, you don't need to do that. I think that this is a C for Starks. I wouldn't go lower than a C. No, no, no. And I don't think I can argue a B quite yet for him. But when safety's tough, man.
Starting point is 01:13:16 Like safety is tough to play in the. NFL because it's so much space awareness, understanding, and timing and management of just such a big part of the field. And you're doing so going up against players that are bigger, faster, stronger, and the game is happening faster. So it's really, really tough to play, especially as a deep coverage safety and play really well early on. I think Starks has had moments, but I think the moments have been good. The moments have also been learning moments for him. So I think that this is a solid C for me.
Starting point is 01:13:53 I wish you could go higher because this is a player who I thought very highly of. And I had him rank much, much higher in this class. And you got him at number 27 overall. But I just don't think the production and consistency has been there for him enough for me to put him any higher than C. So that's where I got it. Tyler Williams. Oh, Brian said, okay, but he's great and madden, so he's an A tier. I forgot about that part.
Starting point is 01:14:17 That's right. Yeah, yeah, that's a good point. It's a good point. It's a good point. It's a good point. Yeah, Tiley Williams. Where do you got, Tileak? I guess a C kind of has been better this year.
Starting point is 01:14:30 I know he's been banged up recently, as I have a lot of these guys. I think it's a C trending upwards. I think he's hovering real close to falling into that B tier. Yeah, I'm. I'm somewhere, I'm somewhere between a C and a B. And it's funny, every single time we talk about Tiley Williams, the thoughts are all over the place. I know.
Starting point is 01:14:52 The people who love run defense and love the emphasis on the run defense and what it does, when you're an anchor, is a nose tackle in the middle. They're like, oh, like I saw somebody say, like, this is a B or an A tier. Because clearly, the Lions drafted him to be a good run defender. And for as much as he does not really get after the passer in pure passing situations, he does defend the run pretty well. I mean, you see the past win percentage, it's below 7% for him.
Starting point is 01:15:16 Yeah, it's not his case. And so you kind of say to yourself, well, as a first round pick, you'd want a little bit more in pass rush, but that's also not really why they drafted him. I don't think they care at all. And so I kind of have to factor that in a little bit of, you drafted this player for what was supposed to be a much better defense
Starting point is 01:15:38 in a team that was making deep playoff runs to sort of be a role player. specific piece that you were getting better at on the interior of your defensive line. And so I'm kind of in between here. I am cool with a C or a B from Tileak Williams, given where they drafted him at number 28 overall. And even though he's limited, yeah, it's a late first round pick. And I think that he is pretty solid in run defense, especially when he's healthy.
Starting point is 01:15:59 He's been banged up a little bit over the last couple of years. But I'll leave it to you of where we're putting him here at C or B. I think C, but you know, can find his way into the B tier, especially. it's okay to take a big run stuffing presence at number 28 overall. I'll never beat the Air Raid Boy allegations on this show with this chat. If you guys value run defense. Love it. Which I don't, of course.
Starting point is 01:16:25 Which I would never. Which they should just ban an outlaw. Josh Connerly Jr. Obviously, I'm kidding. Everybody calm down. Number 29 overall. I thought that he looked really solid towards the back half of his rookie season. And even though it's up and down for him, Connor, am I crazy to say that this is a B?
Starting point is 01:16:51 It could be a B because you found a starting right tackle at the end of round one. I would guess on just the full sample size of play is probably like Tilek, that high end C, trending towards B. But if you want to do the positional value and that he's, I think he's only 22 still. So Connerly, like, it's really pointing up. for him, I'm okay with putting him in the B. He is getting, the thing we always questioned with him was getting that lower half strength, and he is getting stronger and developing.
Starting point is 01:17:23 I do agree. Maybe I'm just, maybe I'm seeing a glass half full rose-colored glasses, whatever you want to call it, but I think I'd put him in B. You're getting a starting offense to tackle at 29. And it's O.T. what? Four, five?
Starting point is 01:17:41 In the draft, well, obviously Campbell, counts. Four. He's four. Membu Banks. Yeah. You get him his OT4.
Starting point is 01:17:49 I put him in B tier. Yeah, me too. I think there has to be some kind of value to being a starting tackle. Maxwell Harrison, 30th overall for the bills. This one's kind of tricky, right? Especially with how much time he missed last year. He's been tough, I think. This was one of the biggest disparities for me.
Starting point is 01:18:14 on where I had him ranked versus how early he went. So I don't want to come off biased because this was one of my least favorite picks. I mean, people do care about your analysis, though. You know. To bear it. As you see, they're 84th. They are indeed here for your analysis.
Starting point is 01:18:30 Who's picked out? I didn't like this pick. Who's picked after him in a corner? Oh, that's a good question. The nicest I can be is putting him in the D tier. Honestly, the problem I have with that is that Barron's better. Gentie and Hampton are way better. Cam Ward is at least a quarterback.
Starting point is 01:18:53 Mike L, for how much I criticize him, he can set the edge. And Kenneth Grant, I think when he actually can play football and he's been really banged up, is also more impactful. And he was the 13th overall pick, so he better be. I mean, Harrison is hanging on by a thread if he's in the D tier, but closer to the F. Yeah, then I probably put him in D-tier because... Yeah, that's fine. Bill's needed a corner.
Starting point is 01:19:24 They draft him at 30. And then the next corner off the board is bent. Oh, no, the next quarter off the board is Will Johnson. Who has been hurt and also has had some not great moments. Well, that's the problem, too. And he wasn't taken because people were afraid of his health. Right. It was the injury.
Starting point is 01:19:45 And Morrison at 53, he's not been good for the Buccaneers. Trey Amos at 61, but now you're almost talking about just a full round of a difference there. So they basically took a corner because they had to take a corner. But yeah, I guess D is fair. I think D is fair for Harrison. John Campbell, man, if you had done this near the end of last year. I know. Totally different grade.
Starting point is 01:20:16 But it's interesting that you do. draft Jehad Campbell at 31 because you feel like you are, one, taking a really talented football player who outside of the shoulder injury concern, you felt as though should have got a lot higher in this draft. And you're also getting ahead of a contract need because Nikobe Dean was going to be up for free agency the following year. And you were basically going to say, hey, we're going to pay Zach Bonn and we're going to let Nekobie Dean walk because we got Shahad Campbell. So they felt like they were really getting ahead of the curve there. And for a little bit, it kind of looked like that was the case. And now this year, Campbell has really struggled.
Starting point is 01:20:59 He has not looked good to start this season. So a very talented player, but overall, just I think it's a total mixed bag of what his grade could be at this point. Yeah, and it feels like it's, it's gotten worse at times. Like when you think of the Rams game, I don't, I see Eagles fans just killing him. every single week. Yeah. I think this is a D until further notice. Don't see. It's hard to put him in the C tier because he's not really better than a lot of these guys in the D tier.
Starting point is 01:21:31 I know. That's the combo. I think I. Man, last year was so good for him, though. Yeah. How many snaps he played last year? Hold on.
Starting point is 01:21:47 I'm looking this up. A lot of people in the chat are pointing out, you know, and I wasn't super high on this dude. So it's hindsight for me, but fair to the last year. them that Swessinger being taken after him makes it look a lot worse. Because obviously, Swessinger's been very good for the Browns. Sweshinger, Swesinger has been good for the Browns, definitely, definitely. But I felt like Campbell was better than Swettinger last year. And Swettinger's better.
Starting point is 01:22:16 I mean, Swessinger, that's one that, like, I'm just taking it on the chin. I feel like I just missed on this dude. He was on the ground. I thought he was on the ground all the time. on the UCLA film. He's not the biggest guy, not the most physical, and he just found a new level
Starting point is 01:22:33 in the NFL with the Browns. He was awesome. Like, this is one of those ones where I was like, got it wrong right away. Yeah, but, all right. I guess it's, it's,
Starting point is 01:22:44 maybe it's closer than I'm thinking. I just, I thought Campbell was awesome last year. I thought Campbell was really good. He had a very limited role, though, didn't he? Like extremely limited? No, we played 700 snaps.
Starting point is 01:22:56 Damn, okay. Well, he was that. good with 700 snacks. Swayneger played like 900 something. Yeah, no. Swayst was undeniably better, but I get what you're saying. You really want to put Campbell in the C tier. I won't fight you.
Starting point is 01:23:10 You're passionate about this one. I do want to put Campbell on the C tier. The thing is, like, my problem with that is, you know, look at the D tackles he was playing behind last year. I'm not taken away from his year, but I'm kind of taken away from that year. All right, put him in D tier. All right. I'm good either way I'm good either way just no just no just no just no just no
Starting point is 01:23:39 when he when he makes second team all pro eventually oh yeah I'll be wrong again came in I've never evaluated a linebacker correctly don't forget Brian says Campbell goes number one in Treves redraft okay yeah you're right Will Campbell that's that's don't love that take Dan Moore and Will Campbell competing to start at left tackle for Tennessee in the redraft. Last pick is Josh Simmons. You know, these are always delicate situations,
Starting point is 01:24:14 but it's just tough when you just don't play a lot of football. I don't know how to give this anything else other than a C tier. Just because... I think you're being polite. I think he's really good when he plays, but they can't rely on him. But that's the thing is that he's really good when he plays. He got back from the knee injury to play incredibly well last season,
Starting point is 01:24:33 but then he went through a private person. matter that there weren't really it's hard to talk about so like nothing has really come out about that and now he hasn't played because he's dealing with what is the back injury i think it's a lower back injury it's apparently a disc it's a disc to his back yeah it's hard for me because i thought he looked fun it thought it looked fantastic when he played and you're getting him at 32 his OT5 that's crazy value for how good he looked but there's a reason why but that sure well i mean he was coming off the knee injury. Yeah, I never got the sense, though, that teams didn't think he lacked, teams thought he lacked
Starting point is 01:25:13 talent. There was just the questions of if he would play through whatever was going on. And he had way too much talent to be out there at 32, where there was always risk to this. It's hard, yeah. I mean, C, I guess, because he is, he is a good player. I'd put him at C. I would put him at C.
Starting point is 01:25:39 I think he's too talented. From what I've followed of Chiefs Media, the team this year, just there's some vibe there that's not meshing. If when we get further down the road, we evaluate this and regrade it and redraft it. I think the picture is a lot more clear. That's totally fair. It's just hard for me with how good he has played
Starting point is 01:26:01 and how he was picked as the fifth offensive tackle at pick number 32 for me. at such a valuable position to not just not just put him at C tier. I'm not trying to say like if he played a full season of when we actually got to witness him, we'd be talking about him in a tier, right? So like the talent alone, I mean, we're talking about somebody who's in an A tier. But I think the uncertainty and everything that has gone on with him, bringing him down to C tier, I think is fair for where we currently stand with him. Yeah, it's a hard one.
Starting point is 01:26:32 People in the chat are saying, wait, why don't you just take the day? disc out and then just put it back in. That's normally how it works. That's true. Low on it. You guys are all licensed chiropractors now, actually. Nighting you guys. That's licensed chiropractors now.
Starting point is 01:26:52 You figured it out. I didn't know you could do that. Don't need to go to school. I didn't either, but I just did. And we're good to go. There we go, folks. We did it the whole trapped. Retiring, the 2025 NFL draft.
Starting point is 01:27:03 That was a lot of fun. First round. Yeah, first round. I appreciate you guys hanging out. with this. There's a lot of fun. Starting point is 01:28:02 $100 to a charity of the chat's choosing or the Discord's choosing or something like that. I think that's the fun too. Although fortunately, I think I'll be able to avoid it because you do the simulator promo all the time. So when we get to the end of the year, we'll see. I'll match you. How about that? I'll match you.
Starting point is 01:28:22 I'll match you. Okay. All right. So when we get to the end of the year, we'll see where we're at. It's our own version of a swear jar that we can, you know, turn a bad thing into a good thing. Don't need to some charity. That's what we try.
Starting point is 01:28:33 Talk about you guys in the Discord and we'll get with you and talk about a fun way to do that. Check out the NFLSC mock draft simulator. As always, making this such a fun show, our producer Tyler, putting it on here for us. Shout to the chef, man. Yeah, always. Just because. Yeah, all right. I love it.
Starting point is 01:29:34 I'm never going to, I'm never going to say, let's not shout at the chef because so much of the magic of this show. He does, and honestly, he just, he does on his own passion, direction, and ambition. He brings immense vibes. He said, do you see that breaking news? Shout out me. Shout out me. He's diabolical. He's absolutely diabolical.
Starting point is 01:29:54 He has a lot of power, which is, thank God we trust him. Terrifying, terrifying. But it's the way it has to be done. here as a small team on NFL. For Connor Rogers, I'm Trevor Sikima saying, thank you guys so much for watching this episode of the NFL Stock Exchange Show. See you guys on Thursday.
