Boy, do me and Connor have a fun episode for you guys today. Remember that old game, NFL Street?
Well, if you're around our age, your childhood was probably built off of it because of the hours
that you poured into it. Well, we decided to get creative here in the middle of the offseason and say,
hey, if that game were made today, what's some of the best rosters that we could put together?
So Connor and I go head-to-head forming our best NFL Street teams.
That means seven players on offense and defense, but it's just seven players on your team.
All these guys have to play both sides of the ball.
You got to find a spot on defense for your quarterback to play.
You got to find a spot for running backs, wide receivers, offensive line,
all that stuff.
It's fun.
We're going back and forth trying to pick the best players in the NFL
and the ones that would be good at playing two ways.
So we're going back and forth right against each other, snake draft style.
It's going to be a good time.
I'm Trevor.
That is Connor. let's ring the bell
welcome to the opening bell of the nfl stock exchange podcast i'm trevor sycamore that's
connor rogers happy fourth of of July to everyone who is listening to
this podcast on the day it is coming out. That's right. We didn't take a holiday off. We're here.
I'm just kidding. We recorded this podcast early. We recorded this podcast many days early because
we're out celebrating like everybody else is. But we wanted to make sure that we gave you guys an
episode here on Monday because this was a go-to topic for us, Connor. When we came up with the schedule, you yourself told me
we got to do this idea this summer.
So I'm excited that it is finally here,
and I think it's the perfect time for it.
NFL Street, baby. We can't wait.
This is going to be awesome.
Classic Connor and Trevor head-to-head draft, drafting teams.
Unfortunately or fortunately for me, there will be no way to
actually do a simulation of this where i lose for the eighth million time again uh because there's
no modern version of nfl street with the rosters from today's nfl which is a shame don't tempt
people to break out their ps2s create a Get the original NFL street out. Create a player every single time.
And somehow get these two exact teams against each other.
Do not doubt the loyal sex addicts to go above and beyond for this podcast.
Because I bet somebody out there might have the capabilities of doing it.
Oh, they never fail us.
I mean, we've had people.
We've had multiple people do these.
When we did the under 25, we did the position groups.
It's been a lot of fun. It'll be cool, man. this is a little bit of a throwback a little bit childhood nostalgia right
here um and a lot of strategy you and i love strategy in our drafts these guys have to play
every name you hear on today's show has to play both sides of the ball that's basically the most
important theme of this draft so for those of you who maybe did not play the game
nfl street growing up one my heart breaks for you because by the way what a wonderful game that was
and a wonderful time that it came out but essentially it really was exactly what the
name was it was taking nfl superstars and allowing them to play football on all different kinds of
surfaces they're in a park they're on a beach they're sometimes on a field sometimes they're in a coal mine and it was just a really fun way to play
football and have a lot of fun with it and there were a lot of different wacky tricks with it but
the important part for this exercise here is that it was seven on seven you had three down linemen
on defense three down linemen on offense and then the rest of them were a quarterback and kind of a
skilled position player so it was a lot of a lot less stuff in the trenches although the trenches were important of
course if you worked your offensive lineman right off the jump you could dive at the quarterback and
and uh and get a quick sack but a lot of this is having fun with a lot of skilled position players
but as connor mentioned it's only seven guys so you've got to play both sides of the ball.
So we're going to modernize that, come up with two different rosters,
snake draft against each other,
seven guys that are going to play both sides of the ball
and see whose team would win on, I can't even say the gridiron,
on whatever field, backyard field that we're lining up against.
But, okay, I got a question for you before we start.
Did you ever play the sequel games
did you play nfl street 2 no play 3 i don't think there was a 4 was there no there was only 3 um
but i only played the first one which is a shame wasn't jeremy shocky on the cover of the original
right no jeremy shot no ricky williams is on ricky will cover. I remember that for sure. Jeremy Shockey and Exhibit were on the cover.
NFL Street 2.
I think this is Exhibit.
Is this Exhibit?
It has to be.
I think it is.
It has to be.
That had to be the peak Pimp My Ride era right there.
The Jeremy Shockey one, I forgot about that.
Of course, the Ricky Williams cover might be the most iconic sports video game cover of all time.
And I know a lot of people wouldn't agree.
Like, this game isn't as popular as the Madden series,
and I get it.
But for, like, the diehard sports gamers
that remember this game.
Yes.
Trevor, I can't think of a cover that was better than this.
Other than maybe MikeVic04Madden.
But you mentioned, if you're taking the Maddens out of it,
this was pretty sick.
I think everybody remembers this cover.
And then, of course, we got to shout out Chad Ochocinco,
who was the lone guy on the cover of the third one.
I didn't play nearly as much of second and third one
as I did the first one.
But yeah, man, this was so many hours,
so many hours poured into this game.
It was one of the funnest games ever.
Like I said, if you guys never got a chance
to play this one, maybe this one will inspire you.
I hope that it at least inspires you
to go watch the intro video.
Go onto YouTube.
Well, if you're watching on YouTube, big shout out.
Thank you for watching.
But after you're done with this podcast just go type in nfl street intro and then just watch it it's like it's like a 60 second thing but it'll get you so hyped and you might even uh you might
even buy the game i gotta say you might man it's yeah it was awesome it was um you know you gotta
realize this was a time in football i need to look when nfl street
originally came out i know the second like oh four yeah it's right around there i think it
might have even been a year or two before that so it came out uh god why does it take so long
to find you're right oh four is when this came out i know my baby nailed it january 04 this was a time that at least i remember like football didn't have as
much style as it does now professional football don't be wrong there's always been style in
football but this was like madden and nfl street and the style of nfl street i don't know for young
football fans probably an our age demo it just brought a different
element to the game that i can't even really explain yep no i i remember is there anybody
off the top of your head that when you were playing the game you were like okay this guy's
absolutely broken clearly ricky williams that i was just gonna say ricky's the guy i thought
you gave the ball to ricky williams and just mash the break tackle button he would break like eight
tackles in a play if it was on your team it was unbelievable if it wasn't you were super frustrated
you know who else i'll give a shout out though randy moss well yeah randy moss was sick so is
to actually remember yo yes to to was in the first division when you played the i think it was called
like the ladder challenge or something like that but that was one of the first divisions that you played in i would get to the niners and
half the guard to with all my terrible players on the first level and he would just
smoke me every time but i wasn't gonna say to it's actually gonna say champ bailey dude
because he was a good receiver i threw the ball anywhere near that guy he was jumping off the
screen and picking it off
and it would i would always be playing remember you could play and if you beat this team to 36
you could steal one of their players onto your team yes i would always try to do that with champ
bailey but it would take me two hours to do it i would just have to get lucky because he'd be
picking me off the whole time but those are i think those were my uh my undefeated guys that
i went up against it's gonna make it fun today we're gonna try to predict what players we think would be total spammable uh
breaking the game kind of players so you were kind enough to offer me the choice last draft
what do you want the first pick or by the way we're gonna snake draft this or we just have to
have to take draft so do you want picks two and three or do you want pick number one i want picks two and three but i'll give you a little bit of time here because
that means you're picking number one i'm gonna know what i want well okay well i still have to
read everybody's favorite ad read so even though you know who you want you got to give me a second
no i know who i want can't skate read gentlemen out there just kidding i love you thanks for

off the bat who you were going to take at number one.
Remember, got to play both sides of the ball here.
So who's it going to be?
Who are you picking?
And then where are they playing?
Because there's a little bit of creativity with the roster as well.
Yeah, there is.
There is.
And there's no – I didn't think there was like a slam dunk number one pick
when I sat down.
There's not.
Right?
Which made it a lot more fun because you and I didn't have to argue,
not that we ever do,
over who gets number one.
It's like, everyone knows who it is.
It was none of that in this.
So it took me a little while.
I came up with one defensive player
and one offensive player
that I valued as number one picks.
Okay.
I'm going to go with the offensive player,
but I'm taking him number one
because I think he will be excellent
on both sides of the ball.
It is Lamar Jackson. Yeah, that had to be jackson let's go i mean so as i'm writing into our lovely sheet that
we do here uh lamar jackson is obviously playing quarterback because he is uh an mbp at that
position in the nfl level and he's gonna play safety for me i don't think that surprised anyone
i felt like i could have gave him some run at corner because of his speed. He's one of the best athletes we've
seen in the NFL the last 20 years, so I think he would be a little bit of a cheat code if NFL Street
came out with a new edition NFL Street 4. I think he'd be a player that you'd have to consider for
the cover. I think what I can do on offense with him is insane because of the running
threat he is but because of the arm strength he has as well so I was really excited that you
uh wanted picks two and three because I just gave me the comfort that I get Lamar Jackson on on my
NFL street team uh you know what these are good picks this is this is a good pick here connor with
with lamar jackson you said at the top there wasn't a there wasn't like this slam dunk guy
and it's funny i was about to preface what i was about to say with saying there isn't a mike vick
but maybe there is lamar jackson's basically the closest thing to even get. If we modernized NFL Street, if they released NFL Street today in 2022,
everybody would just be gunning to play
with the Baltimore Ravens,
and they would be trying to get Lamar Jackson
on their created team because, yeah,
he would be a cheat code in that way.
So you're playing him at safety.
All right, okay.
I'm going to play him at safety.
I think he would have awesome ball skills.
Did he play defense in high school?
I was trying to look this up with some of these guys.
I didn't find anything, but also...
I would hope not.
It's very difficult to Google anything about Lamar Jackson at corner
because there was an actual Lamar Jackson at corner from Nebraska.
New York Jet legend, Lamar Jackson.
Oh, what?
Is he still on the Jets?
He might be hanging around the roster.
Yeah.
He might be hanging around the practice squad.
We'll have to see.
All right, man.
I said that I wanted two and three because I wanted the back-to-back.
There's so many different routes I could go here.
There's so many different ways I could play this.'s so many different ways it's really fun picking
back to back at the top of the draft i've got to pick okay okay i gotta pick aaron donald
okay that was the defensive guy i was considering i have to do it because aaron donald is gonna play
nose tackle for me of course and he's also gonna play center okay pretty cool because he's also going to play center. Pretty cool. Because he's got the natural leverage, right?
A little bit smaller.
He can handle guys on the interior.
I don't think you're going to be able to pick anybody
that's going to best Aaron Donald there.
So I'll go with Aaron Donald.
I think it's fair to say that nobody's questioning his two-way ability.
You just can't go wrong with that pick do i go imagine aaron donald pulling from the center position oh it'd be hilarious i fewer fewer things fewer things would be that terrifying
in life i know fewer things i'm gonna go jalen ramsey i'm gonna go i'm gonna go i'm gonna go
with jalen ramsey for my other
pick so jalen's obviously gonna play one of the wide receiver spots and uh and aaron donald is
going to play the uh the center spot with obviously they're gonna play their home positions on defense
so i'll go aaron donald my first pick jalen raising my second pick i didn't think that's
where it was gonna go but here we are i actually had a strategy for defense
that involved me picking lamar jackson and if i didn't get him then it kind of totally shifted
how it was going to go see a little bit you threw a little bit of a wrench in my plans here i'll
reveal what the plan was after the draft but i can't right now because then i'll give it away
with other players that are there. So Aaron Donald at center,
Jalen Ramsey at wide receiver,
and then both those guys playing corner and defensive line on defense.
Pretty good.
Pretty good.
Not bad.
Can't argue there.
Not bad.
All right.
So I am up now.
I only have Lamar Jackson on my team,
because I had the number one overall picks,
and no back-to-back there.
Now I get the back-to-back picks here.
My first one, I know right off the top of my head,
when you didn't take him.
I'm going to take Trent Williams.
Okay.
All right.
I'm obviously going to play him at one of the tackle spots.
There's only three offensive linemen.
Honestly, because I'm thinking of this,
I just need somebody that can contain Aaron Donald against you.
I just need an offensive lineman that can –
you can move him around, of course.
But Trent Williams also, though, Trevor, need an offensive lineman that can, and you can move them around of course. But Trent Williams also though,
Trevor pretty fun defensive lineman.
When you think of the kind of athleticism that he has,
just the movement skills, the strength, the raw power.
He's a guy you could drop back in coverage if you want to get really,
really crazy, which is nuts to say about a six foot five, 320 pounders.
So Trent Williams, absolutely on the NFL street team.
Also pretty cool when you
show up to the yard and trent williams is leading the pack oh just just just like he uh just like he
led the team him and debo led the team out of the locker room with the giant boom box playing uh
playing super gremlin right that's basically what we have here they're just walking onto the field
doing the same thing for an nfl street style trent Williams, obviously, you can't go wrong with it.
So I certainly had him on my list because I'm not an idiot.
And I looked up to see if he played defensive line in high school.
I couldn't find anything, but I certainly wouldn't put it past a man.
I don't think so.
I've got to think that Trent Williams' caliber of a player
would have played both sides of the ball in high school.
So even though I didn't find any experience, I think you'd be all right putting him on the defensive line.
He'll he'll certainly be able to thrive there.
I would think so. So right now I've taken two offensive players at heart here in Lamar Jackson and Trent Williams.
I don't want to keep that trend going. It's it's tricky to say.
Yeah. Do what you got to do. Yeah say yeah do what you got to do yeah you do what you got to do here i want to keep that trend going but i am going to take
uh miles garrett because i just don't think there's a lot of human beings like him fair it
gives me a little bit of balance here wide receiver were you playing him i'm gonna play
him at the other tackle spot across okay yeah I think that he would be just fine because, not to get ahead of myself,
but I'm assuming at some point
you're going to have an offensive lineman
rushing as well.
So I think Miles Garrett will survive
on the offensive line.
Now, if there was tight ends in this and there's not,
I think he would be the best tight end
out of defensive players.
Yeah, we obviously lose.
Playing seven on seven, keeping this true NFL street style,
it's seven on seven, so it's not the full 11,
so you don't have as much flexibility as potentially playing a tight end here.
Look, if you guys love this format and you love this episode enough
and you say, give us the 11 on 11, like totally redraft, we'll do it.
I mean, you don't have the twist because
it changes it changes the strategy completely you know what else like when seven on seven you have
so much space so we could we could we could run this back if people like it that much but that'll
be up to them you know what else changes the strategy here is how creative do you get on
defense because you remember you have to play three offensive linemen
on offense in nfl street but there were plays where you could either have three down linemen
on defense or you could have two down linemen and two linebackers like you didn't have to have
three down linemen there so it gets a little bit of creativity on defense even though
on offense you gotta have uh you gotta have three bigger guys okay my turn again a little bit of creativity on defense, even though on offense, you got to have three bigger guys.
Okay.
My turn again, a little back-to-back here.
I know for sure I'm going Justin Jefferson.
Justin Jefferson.
That was the other guy I considered.
And look, there's so many good.
Yeah, that was the thing too.
It's like, man.
Good skill position players,
but I've got to go with Justin Jefferson because just the stories that I hear of this guy, like
he'll play wide, he'll, he'll play corner at practice, just like for fun. Like, and it's just,
he's truly one of these incredibly gifted athletes. I remember there was a story that
somebody wrote up or had a Twitter thread about whatever it was.
And Kirk cousins said that he saw Justin Jefferson either with a soccer ball
or actually like on,
like on the field playing a pickup.
Yeah.
He's just Justin freaking Jefferson's just playing pickup soccer.
And he's probably phenomenal at it.
So I think he's just an all-around incredible
athlete he can absolutely we've seen what he does at a wide receiver i've got full faith that he
can be fantastic as a corner especially opposite jaywin ramsey so i got a lot of faith in that
next pick i was excited that you didn't take him when you took miles garrett i thought you
were going to take this other player i think i know who it is which is going to break my heart
go ahead can i want now i want you to guess who do you think i know who it is which is going to break my heart go ahead can
i want now i want you to guess who do you think it is is it micah parsons it's micah parsons yeah
it is i wanted him to play running back it is absolutely micah parsons because he plays linebacker
he also played defensive end in high school we know what he can do against the blitz but
funny enough he was also a running back in high school rushed for 1293 yards and 27 rushing
touchdowns while also playing full-time at linebacker or i should just say on the defensive
side of the football that was in his senior year of high school so he was like fully recruited as
a running back as well but ended up obviously being a defensive guy so uh had to go with michael
parsons here couldn't let him get any further in this draft makes too much sense as a linebacker running back hybrid player it makes a ton of sense you fill out one
of those linebacker spots with one of the best um and the fact that he would just be a total beast
at running back is freaking awesome so all right i'm on the clock here i know the one off the top
of my head right away i'm gonna take kyle pitts here and play him at one of the wide receiver spots
pass catching spots and then of course also play him at one of the linebacker spots which is just
which is just absolutely insane now there is part of me that thinks i can play kyle pitts at safety
and move lamar jackson to corner we'll see when I get down the road in this draft
if I do want to flip them.
But the way the board's falling right now,
Kyle Pitts at linebacker
and one of the wide receiver spots as well.
He's insane.
My next pick here is my running back other linebacker
that'll really be my defensive lineman,
but I like that he can do both.
And that's TJ Watt he is an absolute animal so you know another thing I felt really good about this with
TJ Watt is obviously he's he's one of the best pass rushers in the NFL right now he can do a lot
of things off the ball on defense as well I have Lamar Jackson's speed at quarterback that I can
go with a little bit more brawn at running back.
I didn't need to go get the home run hitter at running back.
I can get a guy that is more of a tackle breaker.
We can run the option.
We can pitch to him.
We could have him lead block.
Lamar Jackson is going to be my more speedy running threat with TJ Watto behind him as the running back.
Oh, man. running back oh man this is uh this is getting this getting a little complicated here because
i have a player that i want to play one side of the ball but it kind of it kind of messes up my
offense that's the that's the give and take of this i know i know i know i'm really curious to
see who you take a quarterback well i mean i think i, but it's like I'm curious what you do with him as a defender.
Right.
I had a strategy here with quarterback.
Okay, hold on.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Hold on.
Let's – let me pull up the list.
Make sure I'm not forgetting anybody,
not forgetting a strategy that's actually smart here.
Okay.
Okay.
All right.
Okay.
I could go with this. I've got, I've got, I've got time here.
I've got time here.
I'm gonna go with Vita Veya. I'm gonna go,
I'm gonna go with Vita Veya for sure,
because I've got to get an offensive lineman and a defensive lineman still.
Yep. So Vita makes total sense as a mammoth human being to be able to uh to be able to play
o-line and d-line next to aaron donald aaron donald with vita payne next to each other
it's hilarious i don't know with no pads on micah parsons also being like the the other
defensive lineman okay that's i i i like this now that i'm saying it out loud
and you still have another pick correct you have another pick in a row man
i wanted to do something different
but i can't now to do something different.
But I can't now.
So a lot of your team is defenders at heart.
Everybody on your team is a defender at heart except Justin Jefferson.
Except Justin Jefferson.
Which is a damn good offensive player to have.
Right, and I'm okay with my playmaking abilities, honestly.
Oh, should I get super cheeky with it uh why not this is fun
just do it no i don't think i have to i don't think i i don't think i have to do it i'll go um
man now i have a million now i have a million ideas running through my head about quarterback
because there's a couple of different options i'll just i'll just i'll just be transparent
because you already picked your quarterback so it doesn't yeah it doesn't matter i thought about
picking josh allen because josh allen can play quarterback and he could play linebacker for him
because he's giant to be what i assumed you were doing. But if I pick Josh Allen to play the other linebacker spot,
then the only thing that I have left is safety and O-line.
So I would have to move Micah Parsons to play center,
and I don't think that's smart.
Interesting.
Did you put yourself in a pickle?
I kind of did put myself in a pickle here
because i'm gonna have i'm gonna have to have somebody who plays as a line i did this i did
the same thing i think uh yeah or or no i could pick i could pick parsons to just be my one line
backer and i can just always play three down linemen i could still do that sure okay i'm
gonna do that you know what i think that that makes the most sense that makes the most sense
to me here i'll go yeah yeah you could do that okay i'm gonna go kyler murray for sure at
quarterback so i'm gonna play kyler i'll play kyler at quarterback and i'll play kyler at safe
of course wait what did you wait what did josh allen run what was your what was josh allen's
40 time if josh allen's 40 time was fast enough i'm gonna pick him and just put him in safety
i thought it was a 4-8 remember how funny he ran very funny 475 here's a 475 it's not exactly safety speed but
it's also nfl street yeah all right no i'm not gonna do it i gotta i gotta keep kyler you could
have got away for it kyler is the fun pick for nfl street kyler is kyler is the more fun pick
so i have two now screw it i'm changing it. I'm going Josh Allen. Okay.
I'm putting Josh Allen in safety.
Quarterback of the defense, quarterback of the offense, baby.
I want Josh Allen's big-ass arm just in charge of my entire offense.
So I went Vita Vea.
I know that was a long time between picks.
Sorry, guys.
Vita Vea is one of them, and then Josh Allen is the other one.
I was torn what I was going to do here but
i've got to go uh i've got to go with with josh allen he's too much that arm is too much fun for
nfl street style i can't run not i can't right right right and i can't not make it the pick so
you know what i'll bite the bullet with him playing his safety i've got justin jefferson
i've got jalen ramsey i'm okay with it're good. I went into this assuming the two quarterbacks would be Lamar Jackson
and Josh Allen.
I actually forgot that Kyler Murray is in consideration
because of his athleticism.
But you're right.
He'd be such a liability on defense.
Who would, Kyler?
He plays safety because he's fast.
He's not tackling anybody.
Right, he ain't tackling.
He's too small to make any plays in coverage.
Right, right, right.
So you did the right thing.
All right, so I know one of my picks right off the top,
and then I have to do some roster reconstruction
because I ran into the same problem you did
where we'll get there.
Trevon Diggs is going to be a pick for me
because I want a real corner out there.
I don't want two wide receivers playing corner
with Lamar Jackson as the safety.
I just think that's a death trap strategy.
I want to balance.
Trevon Diggs can catch the ball,
so I'm not really worried about him playing wide receiver.
Actually be a better wide receiver in some alternate universe than an
actual cover corner.
So Trevon digs,
I'm going to have to move TJ watt from running back and I'm going to
have to play him at center.
Okay.
Cause this is good.
This is good.
I'm glad that we're both running into these problems with live bullets here.
Because what I ran into was with TJ Watt at running back, which is fun,
is I would have had to draft an offensive lineman slash corner,
and that does not work.
No, it does not.
I know you ran into a little bit of a similar situation
with your offensive line pick as well,
where you had a safety offensive line. It just doesn't work so watt is going to play center i think he's going to be
fine there i know you have aaron donald at center like he kind of just put the tough guy that might
be a little undersized on the offensive line at center uh and trent williams and miles garrett
are the tackles so i'm not really worried there now this is where i'm gonna i'm gonna get a little
i'm gonna get a little crazy here.
Okay.
I'm going to move Lamar Jackson from safety to corner.
Okay.
I mean, that's all right.
That's all right.
Yep.
Okay.
And then I'm going to take Derrick Henry to play running back in safety.
So you and I, you have Derrick Henry, I have Josh Allen.
We just have a locomotive strong safeties coming down to help against the run.
That's what we have here.
Absolutely.
Absolutely.
So that was, I thought that made for a much more fun team.
We had to do some roster shifting, some position shifting.
So I ended up with, I believe four of my seven players are offensive players at heart.
So I skewed that way a little bit with my three
defenders being trevon dicks tj watt and miles garrett so i'm glad that we went through this
because you really you really do get to the end of the draft and you're like ah wait a second i
kind of screwed something up because the the line play always kind of puts a dent in things it does
you got to get creative with this stuff i I'm actually pretty happy with who my last pick is going to be here
because it's between two players.
I'm doing a little bit of research here.
Oh, man, they're the same guy.
They're the same guy. Hold on.
Well, you could tell me who it is because I don't have any picks left.
I'm deciding between.
I have an offensive line.
I'm going to play three down defensive
linemen and to match the three offensive linemen and it's between quentin nelson or tristan werfs
and i'm god and i'm wondering i'm i'm wondering which one played more defense in high school and
i think it's quentin nelson i think they both they both played both sides of the ball but i just saw here where was it uh as a senior had 61 tackles and
three sacks on defense while of course playing on the offensive line as well i'm going with q
i gotta go with q i can't i cannot keep quentin nelson off of this this NFL street team love Tristan Wirth to death but I gotta go
big Q I gotta go Quentin Nelson plus and I don't know if his Wikipedia is right team baby Quentin
Nelson supplemented his football and strength training in high school with Taekwondo so I mean
your NFL street fights break out things happen people mean, Tristan Wurst is also like an all-state wrestler.
So, I mean, I could not go wrong with either of these.
No, you were in good hands.
Now, I think to make this a little fun,
we don't really have to like bloodbath over this or set picks.
I think we should pick our coaches for NFL Street.
Now, it has no impact at all.
It's truly for aesthetic.
Do I get the first pick
you can if you want like i'm not taking bill belichick to be my nfl street coach okay well
i'm picking dan campbell there you go perfect example i'm picking dick and i'm taking mike
vrabel oh nice this is fantastic these dudes can absolutely wwe triple h versus stone cold
steve austin fight in the parking lot.
If I ever become, and unfortunately I'll never have this amount of money,
like a mega billionaire where I have unlimited amounts of money.
I believe in you.
I would invest every last dollar I have to make this a thing.
Think about it.
When can you do it?
You can do it in May.
Four weeks in May in nfl street league
imagine dan campbell walking out with josh allen and micah parsons so and yeah think of the field
think of the fields think of the marketing think of the apparel we could sell have you have you
seen the announce team we're the announce team i own the league you're the billionaire you can do
whatever you want do whatever i want i can go i can do the coin toss and then go announce the game yeah
dude you could you could be the official you can do the coin toss you could be the official you
could announce the game while being the official and i would i would appoint someone really funny
to be the replay like you know how they call back to a replay center like in the nhl they call back
to toronto i think the nfl is new york or baseballs and i think it is new york yeah yeah i Like, you know how they call back to a replay center? Like, in the NHL, they call back to Toronto.
I think the NFL is New York.
Or baseballs.
I think it is New York.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They always have to call.
I need to think of somebody really funny that they have to call.
Like, it's a bit.
It's not actually serious.
Like, I don't think this person would be a good replay person.
I want a camera on them, too.
You never see the people they call back to.
Of course.
I want, like, this person in a little room with a million screens yeah like ben ben solak dean blandino is the guy
who does it for fox which is i think the the just the most perfect callback replay official name
because he's not the replay guy he's the official guy they're always just like we're gonna go to
dean blandino and i'm like that's the greatest name of all time. Yep. Dean Blandino?
And every single time he comes on the broadcast,
they got to like nudge him and wake him up.
Yeah, right.
And he's like, yeah, I think they got it right this time here, guys.
If you look at it, it's like, yeah, thank you for that, Dean Blandino.
So good.
So good.
This is fun, man.
Okay.
Doing a little bit of a recap here. And then could we could actually let's do a little recap and then let's actually
dive into the imagination of position groups versus position groups a little bit go back and
forth here sure i got dan campbell heading up my team we're gonna eat some kneecaps okay
josh allen's my quarterback micah parsons is a running back i got jalen ramsey and justin
jefferson playing on the outside up front we got we got Aaron Donald playing center. And then on one side, we got Vita Veya.
The other side, we got Quentin Nelson. Good effing luck. Okay. Defensive line, three down defensive
lineman, of course, Vita Veya, Aaron Donald, Quentin Nelson. Those are all playing there.
Micah Parsons is the lone linebacker for us. I think he'll do okay. Then we got Jalen Ramsey,
Justin Jefferson playing at corner. And then Josh Allen playing the see what what we're gonna need here i need i need josh
allen oh wait they don't have helmets i was just gonna i was just gonna say i was just gonna say
what i need josh allen to do is have two separate helmets one for when he plays quarterback and it's
his comfortable normal helmet and the other one is like a brian dawkins pitch black visor when he goes back to play safety kind of a helmet but
uh maybe he can wear his helmet nobody else can there's just no no pads no nothing just
that'd be pretty cool just a helmet man all right so i got mike vrabel walking off the bus to lead
this team with the the biggest lip packed in his mouth, ready to go.
Just ready to go.
Lamar Jackson at quarterback, Derek Henry at running back,
Kyle Pitts and Trevon Diggs, the pass catchers.
Trent Williams on one side of the offensive line,
Miles Garrett on the other side of the offensive line
with TJ Watt in the middle.
Defense, Trent Williams, we're going to play him
where you'd expect at nose tackle. Miles Garrett and TJ Watt rushing the middle. Defense, Trent Williams. We're going to play him where you'd expect at nose tackle.
Miles Garrett and TJ Watt rushing off the edge.
Kyle Pitts just kind of roaming in the middle of the field as a linebacker.
Good luck throwing over his head.
Trevon Diggs and Lamar Jackson at corner.
And Derrick Henry at safety.
Just trying to line people up.
I'm telling Derrick Henry or I'm telling Mike Rabel to tell Derrick Henry,
we don't care if you get beat over the top. You just need to slaughter people up i don't i'm telling derrick henry or i'm telling mike raybould to tell derrick henry we don't care if you get beat over the top you just need to slaughter people
underneath is there an area of your team where you are most confident that you are better than
my team because honestly i look at me having jalen ramsey and justin jefferson i think we're
absolutely wiping out kyle pitts and trayvon diggs i understand what you were doing getting
digs on the team because you wanted a playmaking corner,
but I think I'm super confident right there.
I agree.
I don't see anybody stopping the run game of Lamar and Derrick Henry.
Because, remember, I drafted Kyle Pitts as a wide receiver,
so he's just blocking in this instance.
With Trent Williams leading the way.
So I'm a very run-heavy team.
You're a very da-bomb team.
Correct.
Yes.
Yeah, I absolutely am.
I'm not going to lie.
I'm a little worried about Vita Vea having to block probably.
I mean, it's one of Miles Garrett or TJ Watt.
I almost said like probably Miles Garrett, but who knows what it is. Quentin Nelson's got one of miles garrett or tj watt i almost said like probably miles garrett
but who knows what it is quentin ellis has got one of them on lock aaron donald can handle
trent williams i think fine that's the problem you run into though like if aaron donald's not
lining up in front of trent williams that means tj watt or miles garrett have to block aaron donald
you're always gonna run into these issues so it's a beauty make it fun it's the beauty of it
that's the beauty of it so if anybody out there has a playstation 2 and once i heard up make the
players a little nutty with it we'll uh we'll shout it out on the podcast to see who won there
but dude that was uh that was fun i'm not gonna lie i truly started sweating right around the
quarterback pick when i almost went with kyler and then went back to Josh Allen. I, I really did.
I started perspirating and that was, uh, look, you know,
everybody sits back listening to these podcasts and in the comments,
you know, then the comments are like, Oh, how could you forget this guy?
Folks, live bullets are different.
You can't simulate this stuff when you're on the clock,
when the podcast is live
when the google sheet is right in front of you it's uh i agree i always walk away from these
with something that i'm like yeah i might have missed it's there like right now i'm looking at
it you're right like kyle pitts and diggs is definitely the weakness of my team as the you
know obviously digs is a good is a good corner but he has to cover justin jefferson that's a
losing matchup for him.
So it almost makes me wonder, should I have just taken Jamar Chase
and said, I don't care how many points our secondary gives up,
I just want to score a million points back.
It goes back to seeing some of the comments to our position group team.
Some people were like, how did you take New England's offensive line
over the Eagles?
PFF just ranked the Eagles as the best offensive line.
Right.
That's a fair point.
I don't make the rankings of what PFF thinks.
Just full transparency on the spot.
I love working here at PFF.
But, like, that and I think the Eagles are a really good offensive line.
So there's merit to that ranking.
But those are the things that you look back on and go, yeah, I could have done that.
Hey, maybe, who knows?
Maybe people in the comments will say they absolutely loved it and perhaps this is
a warm-up draft for us like perhaps we people are going to say give us the 11 on 11 let's get even
let's go even deeper let's fill out the trenches let's get a good a couple of extra skill position
players i gotta tell you my heart breaks that we didn't get odell beckham jr in an nfl street squad
like i agree the aesthetic of him on one would be so cool so when i said that i was thinking about my heart breaks that we didn't get Odell Beckham Jr. in an NFL street squad. I agree.
The aesthetic of him on one would be so cool.
So when I said that I was thinking about getting cheeky,
I was thinking about picking Odell
and just putting him at quarterback.
Oh, that would be cool.
Because Odell is an unreal athlete, man.
We've seen so many weird highlights of him
just like chucking it down today.
And people are going to bring up Jarvis Landry asry as well like all that like guys who could throw who
are skilled position players who can also throw the ball I almost got Odell in their quarterback
just to say we got him in this draft but uh him dude nobody picked nobody picked Tyreek
nobody so nobody picked Tyreek and that was one So I did make a little draft, not board, but like a list of players.
I didn't want to go into this thing fully blind,
but I did want to have fun with it and do a little more on the spot
than we usually do.
So the list was like 15 players.
Yeah.
Tyreek was the top guy left on my list,
along with DeForest Buckner, Lane Johnson, and George Kittle.
Oh, yeah.
Those are good ones.
I had a lot of guys.
Like Jair Alexander was on my list as well
because Jair played wide receiver.
So did AJ Terrell.
He was a five-star recruit.
He played wide receiver
and tight end. No, sorry.
Wide receiver and corner in high school.
He was recruited at both. Nobody picked
Derwin James, which is wild.
Oh, duh. That's a miss.
That's a miss.
But where am I gonna
put... What am I gonna put? You quickly
run out of room on this thing.
Like, I would love Derwin James to be my
running back safety, but I
really liked Derrick Henry
playing in the backfield with Lamar Jackson.
Like, I also did this, like, with
fully in mind, thinking of, like, the NFL
street cover of Ricky Williams. I wanted the coolest,
toughest-looking team. It's, you know... Like like there was multiple times where i was like yeah this guy looks a
little cooler he might not be the better player but i want to look like the better team i keep
saying off the bus but you don't take a bus to an nfl street game i mean i mean maybe you do
it's like the best cars ever maybe you go like old school though you know like maybe you're truly
like you're parking your nice cars in an actual gated parking lot
and then getting on a Greyhound bus
to go five minutes down the road to the stadium
just for the optics of it.
Another idea, entrances.
If I own this league,
I would have WWE entrances.
You could pick your music.
You could use as much pyrotechnics as possible.
Fog machines, smoke.
Man, there's so much promise with this league.
I just need literally billions of dollars to start it up.
We'll start the GoFundMe.
It's like what's going on with golf right now?
It's Live, right?
The Live, the L-I-V, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, which like, now I don't understand.
They're just like paying golfers a ton of money to come play for it,
but they are,
it's not really like unique.
It's just like,
Hey,
come play golf here.
Like if I was ever going to do that in a major sport,
whether it was basketball,
basketball has the big three ice cube heavily involved,
but if I was ever going to do it for football,
right?
Cause obviously this is a football show.
I would change so many things.
Like why start it? If you're just like, Hey, Lamar Jackson, I'm going to pay you a hundred million dollars a year to come play in a football show. I would change so many things. Like, why start it if you're just like,
hey, Lamar Jackson, I'm going to pay you $100 million a year
to come play in my football league.
Like, no, we're going to do things different.
We're going to play seven on seven.
We're going to have entrances.
We're going to play in really cool places.
You're not going to wear pads.
You're going to get absolutely destroyed for entertainment.
All right, I'm not getting into the insurance aspect.
We completely glossed over how horrific yeah how horrific this entire thing is fine lamar you can't get hurt there's no injuries in this league there's no injuries off right injuries are off in this
league so you don't even got to worry about it the longer that i stare at this the more mad that i am
that i didn't pick tyree kill instead of justin jefferson so we've got to get out of here before
i just have unbelievable regret,
dude. That was, that was a blast. That was a lot of fun.
Hopefully you guys enjoyed that. That was a lot of fun for us to do.
If you did enjoy it, comment, let us know.
If you want to see the full 11 on 11, we can do something like this again.
This is also a really fun concept that you and I could do with a guest as
well. Like if we, we could do a three person draft, if we wanted to,
the league is talented enough
for something like that to happen so look there's times where we we it would be better having the
third person because it would differentiate like it would divvy up the talent more right like we
had some people we have people send us their teams from guys we didn't take and we love that that's
that's an incredible way to interact with the show. Yeah, love it.
Before I forget, speaking of a way to interact with the show,
Thursday will be a mailbag.
So if you want to interact with the show,
all the questions that are in reviews,
we're just taking those right away.
If we have leftovers, because we try to get through as many as we can,
follow the NFL Stock Exchange Twitter.
It would probably help if I read Follow the NFL Stock Exchange Twitter.
It would probably help if I read what the at is of that.
At PFF underscore NFL SE.
Follow that.
Tweet at that.
And me and Trevor, get creative.
Find a way to get us the questions.
Send a carrier pigeon, and I'll answer it on the show.
Like Connor said, we will read the iTunes review questions first.
You guys were great at that last time.
And I told you that I couldn't look at all the questions.
Well, I found a way to be able to look at all the questions.
So my dumb ass will now be able to read all of them that you guys are sending on iTunes review.
So if you want to get in the show on Thursday, it's another mailbag episode.
Same step.
I mean, it's the same thing.
Football and non-football.
We'll probably throw a little bit more football questions in there just because we're getting closer to the season but it's going
to be a fun show it's going to get off the rails plenty we're going to get very creative and we're
going to get very creative because we know that you guys are going to get creative so uh give us
five stars on uh on itunes with your question and it will be expressed straight to the front
of the line hopefully that means that we'll get it in on the show but you guys pass pass is that
what disney world calls it yeah it's a fast pass now yeah the express pass the line. Hopefully that means that we'll get it in on the show. Fast pass. Is that what Disney World calls it?
Yeah, it's a fast pass now.
Yeah, the Express Pass, the Fast Pass.
I don't know.
Ride Space Mountain as many times as you want in an hour.
Using the iTunes.
On the Sex Addict Show.
Appreciate you guys listening.
Have a great Fourth of July.
I'm Trevor.
That's Connor.
We'll see you guys on Thursday.
This has been the NFL Stocking Show. Bye.
