So you got Morant, Dame, Holiday, and school. I thought School Henderson showed a lot of growth and maturity in his game throughout the postseason, especially in that series against the Spurs. I know they only won one game, but hell, he played a pivotal role in winning that game too in San Antonio. Them first two games, he looked like you might have had something as in Portland. And then after that, he was kind of, you know, non-existent. but I thought he showed flashes that, you know,

you'll still continue to take chances on the young man because I think he got potential to be pretty damn good, honestly. But with bringing Jai over there, you've got to be thinking that you're going to get rid of one of these guys at least. Because I'm saying one, you're probably going to carry three because, hey, two going to start. And can scoot play the point? Yeah, we need some insurance.

Holidays of your defender. We need some insurance. We need some insurance. Uncle Ocho, meaning maybe Scoop come off the bench, School Henderson come off the bench, maybe you deal a holiday because he probably has value and can go play for a championship contender team. You know, but man, the biggest thing is

Jock going to have to learn how to play without their ball, Uncle Ocho. You got to. You think so? You're going to be because... I mean, but Dame, man, don't have no problem playing with the ball. I understand that. Dame, no, he's, he can do it.

Dame is a great catching shoot guy. He can play off the ball. Yeah. But I think they're going to take turns. But, hell, it's going to be a lot of times. I want to see Jai hit that lane and go catch a lot. Yeah, like, hey, hey, hey. I think he can play off the ball as well, meaning being cerebral as far as cutting to the basket.

With his elite athleticism, bro, he just can't be a statue when Dame over there running, pick and roll or something. You know, you got to be able to mix it up a little bit. You know, be able to cut in there, get you some layups, get you some floaters, catch a couple lives, got to get that three-bob percentage up. You know, we can say we won't, but shooting 20-something percent from the damn three, nine days as a point guard. Ain't going to cut it. You know, you got to get in the lab.

I'm talking about she'll be in there right now tonight. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, you know, like yesterday, like last year. Yeah. Hey, Uncle Joe, I'm happy. I'm happy he's gone. Obviously, you know, my, my, I was one of them, you know, down here in Miami. I think as far as leaving Memphis and having a reset, a mental reset,

and having a change of scenery, obviously I don't think Miami would have been the right place for Jha. Even with the infrastructure that the heat have, as far as, you know, discipline and being able to watch over their players and those inside that organization always knowing where their players are at all times, I think Portland is a good place. It's a good place. It's not too fast. It's a good city.

And for him to have a restart. It ain't fast at all. Yeah. for him to have a restart on this career, I think he's in a good place and he's around some good people. Obviously, Dane being in the game for a very long time, he's someone he can take up on his wing and, you know, show, you know, his whole young bull to ropes

on how to conduct himself with this fresh start that he's having. So, I mean, I'm excited for a job. I'm excited to see, you know, what he does. He put up a post on his Instagrams about, you know, those that have counted him out, you know, so I'm curious to see, I'm curious to see the bounce back. Me too. Yeah, hopefully he gets it.

He is great for the game. The game needs him. And listen, you get a chance to play with another elite guard, him and Dame. Yeah, they may be a little small back there, but, man, you got to switch your game up now because, yep, you're going to get to handle the rock, you're going to get to run, pick and roll. You're going to be able to play, mate.

But at the same time, you've got to be able to play off the ball. And defensively, because of that long, wire reframed that he has, I think he can be a solid defender, bro. He just has the want to. You know what I mean? Like, he got to be able to affect the game more than just, like, giving you points.

Do you feel me? Like, he's one of them guys who's probably going to have to change his game a little bit. Yeah, oh, Joe, Joe, defense is all about want to. I see when they put a lot on the guy's plate. When you ask a guy to do a ton, it's hard for him to exert that kind of effort

offensively and defensive. Run the offense, go give us 25 points a night, rebound and facilitate. You're asking a guy to do a, that's why you have other guys. You see Shay? They say, Shay, we need you to score. Hey, you give us five, six rebounds, we'll take it. You give us four, five, three, four, five assists.

see, the Big Chairman, the Gary Zimmerman's and all those guys, he did that. He made two positions favors. And look how they get paid. Who made the most money? Who made the most money on the offensive line? Left tackle. Left tackle. Who made the most money on the defense

line? The edge rushing. He's rushing. Yeah. Boy, hey, look here. I can make a case. He's the greatest defensive player. I can make a case that he's the greatest player.

He ain't getting out of the three. So whoever you think, if you like a jump, if you, excuse me, if you like Tom, Jerry, and LT, for me, those are the three. Yeah. Now, I can make a compelling case for all of them being number one. But when it comes to defensive players, not him. Good deal.

So that would be the equipment. somebody coming in, they win defensive rookie of the year and defensive player of the year. In the same draft. In the same year. Remember now, the sack didn't become an official stat until 1982.

LT came in and won. So prior to that, they really didn't keep sacks as a stat. They ain't none of my business, though. Portland. So Joe Harris Portland. They got John Lillard, Holiday, Scoot Hennyson,

And because, Shade. Look, hey, look, they ain't really, if you really think about it, Ocho, they really have to give up nothing. I like Jeremy Grant. Don't get me wrong. You know, and I like the Chris Murray kid, who's a shooter.

But you really have to really tap into too much of your youth, meaning like school, Shaden Sharp, who still has the potential to be. I don't know why they didn't play him, though, Joe. We need to talk about that a little later. I think that Danny, the Danny kid, Uncle Ocho, who was an all-star this past year, I think he surprised a lot of damn people

if you want me to keep it 100. So they got some good problems I'll probably say over there in Portland but hey just like Minnesota I think Portland will be fun to watch you know obviously making the A seed I don't I mean I don't know how good this is gonna make them

you know you lose a guy like Jeremy Grant man he's a prototypical guy who you're on your team you know I think he could be a good piece you know for a good championship contended team If you think your family got drama wait till you see Little Brother on Netflix You got John Cena playing a big-time real estate superstar whose perfect life gets turned upside down when his wild little brother played by Eric Andre comes crashing back into the picture.

And trust me, Eric Andre is complete chaos. This thing got everybody in it. Michelle Mornahan, Christopher Maloney, Ego Woldham, Sherry Cola, straight comedy heavyweights. The movie has outrageous moments, R-rated physical comedy, crazy situations, but it also has heart. That's what surprised me. You're going to laugh. A lot, but underneath all that madness is really about family. Pressure, rivalry, and trying to hold your life together when everything goes off the rail.

All three of his former franchise cornerstones, John Morant, Desmond Bain, Jaron Jackson, Jr. Since being swept by OKC, the Thunder in the first round of 2025 playoffs. I think it was with a game three. Yeah, they was up. They had a 20-something point lead in Joggins for his ankle, and they came all the way down.

And we know they were going to win. It looked like they might have been able to win that game. I don't think, for me, they was going to win that series, but they would have won that game. And then once that. But, you know, hey, they started disconciled. assembling it piece by piece. You see there's when Bang go to Orlando. You see them send Triple J

off to Utah, accumulating picks. They probably got, what, seven first round picks now? But, hey, I don't think I don't think they really initially, really wanted to get rid of Jai, I think, but with the injury starting to pile up on them, Ocho, you know,

why he still has some pretty good value, maybe we need to go and get off of him. Maybe he need a fresh start. and he got two years left on that deal. What normally happens with two years left on a deal, Joe? Yeah. Redo it. What that means?

So he got two years of 87 million. So that's 43 and a half. He's 26. He ain't looking to go under 47 and a half, 43 and a half. He's looking to go above that, right? Yes, sir. So that means you're going to have to pay what, 50, 55, maybe 60.

And this is why I say this is a great refreshing start for him because he still can get to that bag on that Ocho. Terry Cruz, T. Cruz, I've been knowing T. Cruz. He played with my brother. So I've been knowing T. Cruz 30 years. When I sat down with him, he said, shaned a lot of people in Hollywood. He said, they nod yes, but they mean no. Yes. No. Joe, they just signed this deal, Joe.

Yeah. So unless the owners went back and put these stipulations, in there after the fact. What are we complaining about, Ocho? What are we complaining about, Joe? Joe, this is your field. Tell me what we're complaining about

because you got these $1,500, $2,000 lawyers that can read better and can comprehend better than what you can. Tell me what was added. So with this second apron, did this just come in this year, or was it in the CBA that you negotiated? I'm going to be honest with you,

However, the league and the NBA Players Association have an option to opt out. of the agreement one year early by declaring their intention to do so by 2028. Well, clearly they're going to opt out of it.

Yeah. Clearly they're about to opt out of it. Yeah, but it was put in place to stop them damn super teams. Yes. Yeah, so. Well, I think the thing is, Joe, and I get it. I get it. But the problem that you run into is that when I draft well and my players perform well,

you also prevent me from being able to keep them. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. Like, I don't think a team should be penalized for that. If you draft well and your teams do well or your players over exceed expectations, man, you shouldn't be punished because you can't pay all of them. You know what I mean? Like, there has to be some type of stipulations in there to where, hell, if I draft you,

you know, we should be able to some way somehow keep you. And it don't really kill our salary cap like that. The current agreement was ratified by the MBAPA membership in April of 2023. It took FEC July the 1st, 20203. So Joe, oh Joe, they signed off on this. Yeah. They signed off on this. And what?

This bargain agreement, what, 10 years, right? No, basically, it's from 23, July of 23, it was certified, ratified in July. of 2023. So, and it goes until 2030, but you can opt out. If you can opt, you can say, okay, I want to opt out. And so you opt out a year before the ends. And so in 28, it can be the final year of it.

So in other words, everything that's in this contract, Joe, was in there in 23 when they signed it. Yeah. Yeah. But you see what happens, Joe? You look at it like, if I get my max money, I don't care where I get it from. As long as I get my max money, whether I get it from OKC,

whether I get it from Golden State, whether I get it from the Knicks. As long as I get $2.50, as long as I get $3.50, I don't care who give it to me. Until you get on a team to have success. And you're like, hold on, wait a minute. We're not going to be able to stay together.

Because there's no middle ground. There's no in between. It's either you getting the max contract or you're almost getting peanuts. You feel me? And that's kind of how it is. So, hey, man, they put them figures in front of them, boys ain't no telling man I don't know

Ocho we know firsthand because guys like everybody it's the players joke because you know there's only a certain amount of people that's going to make the Supermax just like Ocho and I know there's only a certain amount of people that's going to get the $100 million to $200 million

The players should not have to have the financial responsibility to say, we want to keep a team together. So what does the team do? Just sit back? I think the teams, I think they kind of knew all alone this was going to happen. Yeah, you was going to run into this problem. Look, they want all this money up front. They want these max dollars.

But hell, at some point, some of these max players are going to have to start taking haircuts if they want to continue to play on great teams. These owners knew that. Okay, Ocho. But guess what the owners never do. But they never give these TVs. They never give these partners.

They don't give them a discount. They don't give these sponsors and advertisers discount. Because guess what the Super Bowl ad going to be this. year. Eight million. 30 second spot, Joe. And they got 240 of them. Damn.

Oh, yeah. But they're billionaires, they ain't giving no damn. They ain't cut it. That's my point. That's what, Ocho and I, we were talking about it

from the very beginning. How have billionaires convince normal fans to turn on the millionaires, which are the players, inside with them? They sharks. man.

They're smart because they put it out there. You don't care about winning. You're selfish. And then you take some of your best players when you get, because first of all, once Tom Brady did it and they won, the expectation is you see what Tom did. And fans start to believe,

well, if you like Tom Brady, Tom Brady was making more off the field than he was on the field. Tom Brady's wife at the time was doing $30 million a year. Hell, if my wife did $30 million a year, and I'm doing $15, $20 a year, damn right. a $5 million hair cut. But my wife ain't making that.

As a matter of fact, she costing me money. You know your wife making money. If you marry somebody and they make you sign a pre-nup. Oh, man. Oh, yeah. That mean you probably married in or something. When you making millions, You make $20 million a year Plus off the field probably another $5.10. So you make $30 million a year. And your wife's here. Slide you this piece of paper. And you have your lawyer read it over. What are they telling you?

They don't even know it. especially if you got one of these guys from overseas, you got a Wimby or you got a Luca?

Why do you think they tried to get NFL teams over there, Ocho? They try to get two teams over there because you just saw what they went for, right? So now a new team coming into the NFL, you can't come in less than 10 bill. Hold on, they're trying to get it over where, huh? Overseas. They try to get two NFL teams overseas.
