Big rookie Luther Burton III was kicked off the field and chewed out by Ben Johnson after issue that the line of scrimmage during team drills. Burton missed several weeks of practice with a hamstring injury and Johnson said it is it hindered his progress learning the system. It shows up already.
Starting point is 00:02:40 I mean, we were in walkthrough yesterday afternoon, then misalignment. We have to re halignment. We have to Rehuddle we have to start it all over again. He's a little bit behind right now Burton the third responded very well to the accountability that Johnson gave him early in your career Did you ever have to accept accountability coming up short and practice or in the game? Yeah Yeah But you don't move me I'm a wide receiver, Ocho. They'll move me to tight end. They tell me to play, Ocho.
Starting point is 00:03:10 I go in motion. I stop. Man, what's the play again? What I got? I ain't, I ain't, y'all laughing. I ain't, I'm damn serious. Ask, I ain't, I be going, hey, I go in motion. Go to the tackle, turn around and come back. Man, what I got? I forgot, what I got?
Starting point is 00:03:30 Bad day, God dang it, Shannon. I don't know what you want me to tell you, dad. I forgot to play. I remember them days, man. They sent me in the game, I forgot to play, coming into the game. Hey, cause we used to run play, like every play we bring somebody to the game.
Starting point is 00:03:45 And they had a hand on my shoulder. Give me the play. I go in there. How are you already? I'm in the game on choke. Yeah. John John look at me. T look at me like T what's the play?
Starting point is 00:03:59 I forgot. It'll happen quick too. Oh, hey, it happened quick too. It happened quick. Oh, boogie it. Joe, I'm boogieing the game too. I'm like, man, I'm in the game. Ooh, wee. How many we game, please? Dee, Dee, what's the play?
Starting point is 00:04:19 Oh, I forgot. Hey, hey, hey, hold on. In basketball, Argan Ocho, and doing like a timeout, they might, coach might draw up three plays. Okay, we're gonna run this play, then come back down next trip, we're gonna run this play, then next trip down court, we're gonna, so he got three plays in and drawn up.
Starting point is 00:04:39 You may go out there on defense and you mess around and, you know, get a couple trips to where y'all may got steals or things like that. Man, you forget everything. That man done drew up over there. That's how it go. You be so locked in.
Starting point is 00:04:51 You go to the second play? You go to ask your teammate, they don't even know. That's how we do no huddle, Ocho. We call it two plays in the huddle. First one on one, second one on one. What we got? Man, I never forget that. I was so embarrassed. Man, I didn't even look at the sideline.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Because I know man, Coach Dree, Coach Dree, Coach Dree, Coach would turn red and he had this big old, big old vein. I mean, it'd be bulging out of his neck. Cause back then coaches wore suits on the sideline, don't you? Coach Reeves wore a suit. You know, Coach, you go back and look at Coach Dicker, he have on sweater, vest and things like that. So Coach Reeves was dressed to the line. Man, Coach Reeves was so bad over there. Hey, you put it, getting that toe with that play.
Starting point is 00:05:47 And I got down and ran in there and forgot all about that play. That's the worst feeling, bro. Oh, Joe. Hey. You talking, everybody looking at me like, damn, how you forget to play, how you forget to play from the sideline to the huddle?
Starting point is 00:06:04 I guess you're you draw my memory. That's like forgetting to play and probably being late to practice. That's like the worst feeling, man. Late to practice, late to meetings and having to walk through the door. And they already in there going through the meeting. You gotta walk.
Starting point is 00:06:24 Oh man, that's the worst. Oh, that's the worst. Yeah, yeah, yeah, and and they already in there going through the meeting you got a Man out a I'm late for the meeting I play the game then a officer play of the game. She had a sharp And you late for the meeting? I said, man, why ain't somebody, hey, on behalf of Mr. Sharp, I'd like to accept this award on his behalf, like they do at the Oscars, like they do at the Grammys or something, man, accept the award. Man, hey, we got a storm. We had played Carolina that Sunday. We beat the Breaks of Carolina. And I cooked them, Ocho, cooked them.
Starting point is 00:07:07 Sell them for a buck 74. Cooked them. Man, that's no, we just, none of them would not cooperate. Yeah. It couldn't get to practice, huh? No, it was team meeting. Cause we give out the offense, defense, pressure team player of the game that Wednesday in the
Starting point is 00:07:26 meeting, uh, Mike's morning meeting. Right. So defensive player of the game, this many tackles a pig, uh, you know, sack, blah, blah, blah, you know, office, a player of the game, you know, we John will be TD. Most of the time it was TD. Be quiet on it. Uh, but yeah, man, that man, that's a bad feeling.
Starting point is 00:07:50 Cause they, as a matter of fact, I walk in and they get ready to break the team meeting. That's the worst feeling, bro. That is the worst feeling ever. Cause here's the thing, it's one thing to be late, it's something entirely different. The miss it, miss it, huh? You was that late?
Starting point is 00:08:07 Yeah, man, man. That meeting don't take that long because it's a great game, you know, blah, blah, blah. You know, congratulations. That's the way, you know, play start to finish. Play fast. I love everybody with is engaged. Offensive player to get a defensive player to game.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Special teams player to game. So the meeting ain't gonna go for like six or seven minutes. Right. Right. Being late is one thing. Missing the meeting is something intelligent. Missing the meeting might cost, you know, $500. I mean, late for the meeting might cost 500.
Starting point is 00:08:34 You know, missing the meeting gonna cost 2000. Yeah. So, yeah, yeah. I understand. And it's, like I said, I need to be there. See, it's hard to like pick up stuff with like you injured and they going over to play those. So I need to walk through.
Starting point is 00:08:52 I need to be I need to be there. Right. And you know, you you hurt you on the sideline. It ain't the same. It ain't the same. And a and in this situation, they are installing new every day. So if you got, if you not up to date on this today,
Starting point is 00:09:10 guess what, that's gone. We ain't talking about this no more. We on page two. And guess what? We on page three. And we on page four. And then they come back and they go, then they start implementing stuff
Starting point is 00:09:23 from page one, two, three, four, five. Oh, Lord have mercy. Y'all a joke, man. I know what you mean. I swear I do. Wait, you miss one of me? Or you mess around and be late? Boy, you gonna feel lost.
Starting point is 00:09:41 Yeah, man. I had to get caught up, I had to get, I said, man, man, I just went home one off season and I just stood, I said, I had to get caught up. I said, man, man, I just went home with off-season. And I just stood, I said, I got to know this stuff from them backwards. I said, ain't no way, I said, man, they gonna mess around and cut me if I don't know this stuff. It's the biggest party of the summer. San Diego coming to MLS is going to be a game changer because this region has been hungry for a men's professional soccer team. We need veteran players and we need young players. Like, you're building a team from scratch and so the succession plan of long-term success
Starting point is 00:11:43 needs to be defined. We need to embrace this community. Like, you're building a team from scratch, and so the succession plan of long-term success needs to be defined. We need to embrace this community. When I was 13, my uncle took me to a qualifier, and we watched Paraguay against Chile, pouring rain, just watching the fans jumping up and down. I think that was definitely a watershed moment for me. Not only was that going to be my game, but it was going to be my life.

Starting point is 00:13:22 All right, guys. Brown's owner, Jimmy Haslam, felt the need to unprompt it to tell the media yesterday that Shadour Sanders was not his pick. Let's take a listen to what the owner had to say about selecting Shadour. Good process, OK? And if you'd have told me, see, we picked him on Saturday,
Starting point is 00:13:44 Friday night driving home, we all were gonna pick Shadoor, I would say that's not happening. But we had a conversation earlier that morning, we had a conversation later that day, I'm hearing the right people involved in the conversation. At the end of the day, that's Andrew Berry's call, Andrew made the call to pick Shadoor. Just like who's gonna start or what play we're gonna call is Kevin's call. But that's Andrew's call, he made the call to pick Shadour. Just like who's gonna start or what play we're gonna call is Kevin's call, but that's Andrew's call,
Starting point is 00:14:07 you made the call. Yeah. Who asked him that? Why did he feel the need to share that information, Ocho? Nobody, that's what unprompted. So you dry snitching. Ain't nobody asked you what round did you think you were gonna take Shadour in? Why did you take it? Nobody asked you that.
Starting point is 00:14:28 Yeah. And so he felt the need. And I get it. Yes, he's the owner. But it's like, I'm like, bro, if y'all felt, if you feel this way about Shadour, why y'all still got the man? Cause it seems like every time I turn around, O Joe, somebody trying to take a dig at it. Yeah. Well, I got, I got a question. I have a question for the chat and uncle Joe, I'm not sure if y'all know how long and Jimmy has been with the Cleveland Browns.
Starting point is 00:14:54 A long ass time. A long time. So since 2000, the Cleveland Browns has had 35 different starting quarterbacks since 2000, 35 different starting quarterbacks. But now you're going to take it upon yourself to say that Jadura Sanders won your pick. And that's probably why it's going to work.
Starting point is 00:15:12 Because you had no dealings and him being drafted. Watch how God work. Watch how God work. I'm sorry. What about all the mother picks you had? Who picked with they? His, but he, hey listen, he never, he never came out before and said, I'm talking about- What about all the mother pics you had? Who pic with they? His. But he, hey listen, he never came out before and said, this before by anybody else.
Starting point is 00:15:30 Never. Never did this before. Hey, hey, when I look at it, when I look at it Uncle Hocho, I just like how the young man going about himself, man. Shadour. You know what I mean? Like, there's no better way to go about this
Starting point is 00:15:45 than keep your head down and keep working, bro. I think he's been doing a phenomenal job at that. Obviously, I think everybody's been keeping up with what's been going on in Cleveland. I know I have. And he looks comfortable at that, first and foremost. And he looks like he's still enjoying the game, man. And I think this is just more, you know, fuel to the fire as opposed to.
Starting point is 00:16:09 It's going to help him out throughout the regular season or throughout his season or throughout his, uh, NFL career in general. So I understand what, what, what the owner said, but, uh, I think she do it doing an awesome job with all this that's going around. And you can see he's in the community. Not only is he in the community, but he looked like he's playing his butt off. Now I don't know how much, I don't know how much in it his way with, you know,
Starting point is 00:16:34 what he's been doing in, you know, in OTAs and off season and camp and all that. But I mean, man, the ITs don't lie, bro. I know we, you know, they ain't out there hitting or nothing like that, but he looks comfortable out there. Well, it's really hard for me to say because from everything that I read, he gets one or two reps with the first team,
Starting point is 00:16:52 or one or two reps, period, and that's it. It's reported that his dad wanted to come to camp, just like he went to Tampa. He said, nah, dad, he said, I might get three or four reps. He says, I'm not where I wanna be. But if being reported is true, but once I get to where I wanna be, come on up there. But I don't get this.
Starting point is 00:17:14 That was an Andrew Barrett's pick. And just like the guys that play, that's such and such. So all these quarterbacks that y'all had, and I mean, you had Baker, so who's picked with Baker? And Baker, look, Baker had a decent and he got injured, and for whatever reason, you know, Baker's telling the story, they wanted him to, you know, tone it down a little bit and wouldn't let him be himself.
Starting point is 00:17:41 And you see Baker is like himself in Tampa, and he's thriving now. Yeah. Does he have a better collection of wide receivers around him in Tampa than he had in Cleveland? Yes, he does. He does. Ain't no sense in us trying to fool him,
Starting point is 00:17:55 saying he has the same level of skill position players around him because he doesn't. He just doesn't. But I don't get why Jimmy Haslam felt the need to take this shot at Shadour. Oh, you'd have told me we was gonna take him. I was like, that's not gonna happen. Whatever he said.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Why? I mean, why does he need to say that, Ocho? Listen, you know what they trying to do? You know what they trying to do? Trying to break his company? They trying to break him. They use the draft. Okay, we trying to break him. We gonna the draft. Okay, we trying to break him.
Starting point is 00:18:25 We gonna make him wait. Okay, now he's here. He's doing everything he's supposed to do. Doing everything he's supposed to do plus the extra. Then, okay, how can we break him now? He's out here playing very well. I told you, I told you. I ain't wanted.
Starting point is 00:18:38 Hey, listen, my ears over there, man. My ears and ass is over there. I don't need to be there to see him here. Stay with me, man. So what do we do now? He's playing well. He's got the offense down. He's not making too many mistakes.
Starting point is 00:18:50 He's throwing touchdowns where he's running with the one, the two, three, or the fours. So what do we do now? The owner has to come out and try to break him again. Break his spirit a little bit. Oh, I ain't wanted. I just want y'all to know, I ain't wanted. That's an answer.
Starting point is 00:19:03 But hey, hey. But listen, but why though? Is it because of what they may seem to be as flamboyant in college? Cause he wore the jewelry, he wore the ice. Yeah, it's just part of who he is, man. It's just part of his swag. That's how he grew up.
Starting point is 00:19:18 Well, hey, really Joe, honestly, that's all the collegiate athletes coming out of college this year. Everybody got money. They got money, yeah, now they. Change the college. Yeah, they got college this year. Everybody got money. They got money. Yeah, now they. They got a little bread. All of them.
Starting point is 00:19:29 They got a little bread. And so it seemed like to me a weak attempt. The guys already, look, I know with people you say, hey, you maintain confidence, but when you're not getting any run and you're used to like, I'm a prime example of that. I used to call my brother, I said, man, I ain't get no run today.
Starting point is 00:19:49 All he say is just be ready. He said, John Elway gonna call your number, but make sure when he call your number, I like, man, you keep saying that, you said that yesterday. He didn't call my number. He said, I said, you keep, I'm saying to myself, you keep saying that, but it ain't happening.
Starting point is 00:20:05 And sure enough, but I was like, I ain't got no but time. The way I look at it, Joe and Ocho, is that as long as I'm here, I still got a chance. It's like when I'm no longer there, I don't have a chance to make the team. So as long as I can stay, the longer I stay, cause guess what?
Starting point is 00:20:26 I'm gonna do something. Y'all gonna put me somewhere and I'm gonna flash something. Yeah. Oh yeah. I'm gonna make a catch. I'm gonna make a block. You gonna put me on special teams. I'm gonna do something that you say, you know what? That kid from Savannah State,
Starting point is 00:20:42 he too big, too strong, too fast. Not for us to find a place. Hey, create a job for me. We ain't high. The funny thing about it is all the turmoil, all the negativity, whether it's coming from the Cleveland media, whether it's coming from the owner Jim Hazlitt and saying he wasn't my pick, when that preseason starts and he gets his opportunity, the cream is going to rise to the top no matter what, because you're good at doing
Starting point is 00:21:10 one thing. He's good at playing football. Yes. He's good at playing football. He's been a winner from Jackson State, the goddamn Colorado. And now you're in a different environment and that journey starts all over again, even with the enemy that's right in your backyard against you. Sometimes that's really hard to overcome Ocho
Starting point is 00:21:31 when it seems like the people rooting against you that's right there. I mean, I thought we was all in this thing together. It don't seem like it. I'll tell you who on the side though. I'll tell you who on the side though. I tell you who on the side. When that goddamn stadium start rooting, start screaming for Shadour,
Starting point is 00:21:50 when that goddamn dog pound start going crazy and them champs start shouting for Shadour when things ain't going right with the Browns. All right. I guarantee you. Now watch how it play out. I just hope he's around long enough for those same things to happen.
Starting point is 00:22:09 Yeah. Because think about it, Ocho, you signed Joe Flacco, 18 years, well you know he's not, he's a year 18. He's not your answer long term. You re-signed Kenny Pickett, hoping that he got a little hamstring tweak. So now basically it's Dylan Gabriel and Shadour, but it seems like Flacco and Gabriel and Flacco getting all the reps.
Starting point is 00:22:34 That's what it appears to me from what I read. Now I'm not following it that close because at the end, you know, put all that time in there and guys that you're watching, they're not going to be there. So as they get to the preseason old show, we get the game or two. And so we'll get a better understanding, a better feel like, okay, this kid, you know, get an opportunity to see them guys play. Like, okay, he can play.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Cause I want to see guys play against somebody playing somebody else that's trying to make a team also. You don't know yet. Y'all don't walk off the field talking, Hey man, hey, you know, what you gonna do tonight or what you, you know, such and such. Hey, I want to see you go against another guy in another color uniform
Starting point is 00:23:14 that's in the same situation that you are. He's trying to live out his fantasy. He's trying to live out his dream. He's trying to make sure his mom and his grandma, and if he has a kid or a girlfriend or significant other, he's trying to make sure they're taken care of just like you. But this, I'm shocked by what Jimmy Haslam had to say because nobody asked him.
Starting point is 00:23:37 Nope, this was something that you probably should have asked Ocho after the draft. You asked this, okay, so what was your thought process taking Shadour in the fifth round? Oh, you know, they said the grade they had on him, the grade they had is the grade they had. So that's when you're like, well, hey, we felt that, you know, we had this grade now,
Starting point is 00:23:55 round between rounds four and five. If he's there, we're gonna grab him. Okay, but that's a day after the drive, that's two days at work, at best, worst case but that's a day after the draft. That's two days at work at best. Worst case, that's a week after the draft. Oh, Joe, the drive was in April. Makes no sense. The drive was in April.
Starting point is 00:24:15 And here we are. That's May, June, July. That's three. That's three months. Yeah. And we're talking about that's an Andrew Berry pick. Yeah. And listen, I could understand if understand if your decision making in the past, as if you the goddamn quarterback whisperer, I hear you coming out and saying something like that and being confident about it, like you just been golden when it came to picking quarterbacks.
Starting point is 00:24:37 Your last 35 were your picks, and none of them worked. So probably this one that you had nothing to do with, that might be the answer. If you Green Bay, y'all got Brett Farr, and then you get Aaron Rodgers, and now you got Jordan Love, I would say, well, you know what? Hey, Ocho, Joe, he might be on to something now.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Right, right, right. They about to have 50 years of prosperity at the quarterback position, but when you've had 35 years of turmoil and chaos at the quarterback position, with the exception of maybe a year or two here or there, you got one year Derek Anderson, you got a couple of years with Baker.
Starting point is 00:25:13 But other than that, let's be realistic now. Come on, Browns. Really? Yeah, hey, hey. And should do it strikes me as a guy, when them lights come on, Uncle Ocho, I feel like he gonna perform at the highest level. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:25:28 Like he gonna put on, you know what I mean? That's the type of guy he strikes me as. So, man, I'm gonna be paying attention to them Browns, see what's gonna happen now. They got four quarterbacks over there, right? What they gonna do, Uncle Ocho? I don't see a team keeping four quarterbacks. And I, you know, a part of me,
Starting point is 00:25:44 a part of me hope a part of me, hope they like try to put them on the practice squad and somebody come sign him. So they, so you can care, you know, they'll carry three quarterbacks. That's too many positions because the quarterbacks don't play special teams. So you got to, those, because there's only,
Starting point is 00:25:59 there's only 46 guys, those spots are valuable. Normally you're carrying a guy, a wide receiver, that could, you know, he can play multiple positions. He can play the X, he can play the Z, he can play the slot, and he plays special team. Same thing with a linebacker. Same thing with a swing offensive lineman. He can play guard, he can play tackle.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Okay. So that's what you're looking at. I'm looking at guys that can play multiple positions, because if I get somebody to go down, what can a quarterback do? It's not quarterback. Right. Right.
Starting point is 00:26:30 Right. Right. Maybe, you hope, maybe, maybe in high school, Ocho, he punted or kicked or something. But for the most part, you keep, if you're gonna keep somebody extra, it's gonna be a wide receiver, a DB, somebody that can play special teams.
Starting point is 00:26:46 That's why they say, hey, special teams is the quickest way to earn a place on the roster. Unless you want to be top, now you top dog, I mean, we get that. You Joe Burrow or Chase or somebody like that, Lamards, we get that. But guys that are not, that are not actually starter, that when, hey when a was up,
Starting point is 00:27:05 he runs on the field. And when it's four down, he comes off the field and he ain't got to stay out there for points. Special team, the more you can do, the longer you can play. The more you can do, the longer you can play. And, but I didn't like this at all. Cause like I said, here we are, we three months in Ocho and this man talking about that's an Andrew Berry pick.
Starting point is 00:27:28 It's trying to break him up. It's all mind games. They are, they are, they are. All mind games. They did what they did. They were like, we gonna show you, we gonna show coach prime. You know, they talk about, you know, the Mannings
Starting point is 00:27:42 and everybody looked at the Mannings and Eli did what he did and you know, Arch and you know, so forth and so on. They're like, nah, you're not going to do that. We're going to show you do. We're going to start it right here. And then we're going to take a little further. We only gonna give you a handful of reps. And we will see how long.
Starting point is 00:28:00 Hey, if I'm trying to break it, they say to put you in solitary, solitary Ocho because they say, you know, we used to communicate it. And when there's no one to communicate to you, when all you can do is hear your heartbeat and all the only, the only communication is going on in your own head. Yeah. And you know what? That could be a good thing. Sometimes they put people in solitary confinement, right?
Starting point is 00:28:24 And it does it more, it does it more good than harm because it gives you too much time to think. Yeah, I want to be in solitary confinement away from you sorry, mofos. Yeah, I want to be in solitary confinement because I want to be away from you sorry, mofos. So y'all better rub off on me. Like that, hey look, I think he definitely locked in though.
Starting point is 00:28:47 You can see it, bro. Well, he really doesn't have a choice. I think Time has done a great job. Time dealing with what he's dealing with, because think about it now, that's still Time's son. But in the meantime, I've got to deal with what I've got to deal with. I've got something gravely going on with me.
Starting point is 00:29:07 And I got two sons that, because the only coach that Shadoor's ever had has been Tyron. He's the only one to play for his dad. Played for his dad at high school, and coming up he coached him at Pop Warner. Tyron used to take them kids all over the place. They played Snoop Dogg.
Starting point is 00:29:23 They played, ended up playing Snoop Dogg when, cause of time when I went to the hall together. They played all up in Texas. They coming, they coming. And they driving, playing other teams. I think they played while they was up there in Canton. So that's the only coach you've ever had. And now my dad, cause think about it, man.
Starting point is 00:29:43 My dad dealing with something, I don't know what's really going on. Cause Tom said, you know, I really didn't let the boys know what was really going on because they got to focus on that. The last thing is to let your mind wander, Ocho. You know, when you in camp, hey, I'm here.
Starting point is 00:30:01 That's what I tell, when you here, you gotta be here now. Now when you over there, deal with whatever you got to deal with over there and don't worry about here. That's what I tell when you hear you got to be here now. Now when you over there deal with whatever you got to deal with over there and don't worry about here. But when you hear you got to be here. And so I think time did a great job of shielding him, not telling them the extent of what's really going on with him so he can stay locked in. Especially, we know how hard the quarterback position is to play Ocho. The last thing you need is to be worried about man Pops. Man, Sam, Pops really messed up right now, man. I ain't getting no burn. Pops
Starting point is 00:30:34 messed up on a trip and saying all kinds of crazy stuff. Yeah, man, it's a lot. It's like I said, you don't know what a person's going through. You don't know. You know, you try not to you try to compartmentalize when I'm here, Joe Ocho, I'm here. Right. And like when I'm when I'm done, I'll deal with whatever I need to deal with off the field. I'll deal with that then. Man, I can just say, man, I can I can I can bring work home, but I can't take you to work. And that's how it is. You can't, cause they tell you, oh yeah, there's more important things than sports.
Starting point is 00:31:11 They lying. They say that for the public. Oh yeah. No, no, no, no, no. When you play a professional sport, Ocho, they're making it a buddy, LeClear. Oh yeah. The most important thing is that sport. So, Shadour, keep your head up, keep plugging away, boy, do your thing.

San Diego coming to MLS is going to be a game changer because this region has been hungry for a men's professional soccer team.
Starting point is 00:33:15 We need veteran players and we need young players. Like you're building a team from scratch. And so the succession plan of long term success needs to be defined. We need to embrace this community. When I was 13, my uncle took me to a qualifier, and we watched Paraguay against Chile, pouring rain, just watching the fans jumping up and down. I think that was definitely a watershed moment for me. Not only was that going to be my game,

Presented by Capital One, founding partner of iHeart Women's Sports. Mike Tomlin says he has a bromance with Aaron Rodgers. Tomlin said it was kind of a bromance for me. I was just excited to get to know the guy on a personal level. Man, we had some cool, interesting conversations
Starting point is 00:35:10 about football, about life, about where he is in his career and what he was potentially looking for. Ocho, how long do you think the bromance lasts? Oh, listen. If the Steelers don't start, if they don't start winning. Listen, remember, remember, listen, winning wins or losses, depending, regards to how it goes.
Starting point is 00:35:28 Remember how Aaron Rodgers treated Robert Sala? Yeah. Remember the interaction on the sideline, the pushing and the shoving off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. On what type of reciprocate head coach. Now what won't happen, whether they're winning or losing, now Mike Tomlin ain't playing that.
Starting point is 00:35:42 Oh no. Oh, that ain't, that ain't finna happen. That's not finna happen. So whether they're winning or losing, I think the relationship between those two, because there's a certain amount of respect that he has for Mike Tomlin and what he's been able to accomplish in Pittsburgh,
Starting point is 00:35:56 I think everything would be just fine. Everything would be just fine. All he has to do is listen, if Russell Woods can do what he did last year, and Justin Fields can do what he did last year, and Justin Fields can do what he did last year, Aaron Rodgers being at the helm, should be able to do just that. Do what they ask of you,
Starting point is 00:36:12 don't turn the ball over, and let the defense win the game for you. It's simple. Plus he doesn't come in with what he went into the Jets with. They got on private jets, they court, hey, they're like, look, this is what we got. Take it or leave it. You know Mike Tomlin runs the show.
Starting point is 00:36:42 The moment you go get around the Cobb, the moment you go get Alan Lazard, you've ceded all control to Aaron Rodgers because now you've given up control. You like, okay, I want this, I want that, I want this, I want that. The moment a kid starts screaming and you give him what he wants, Ocho,
Starting point is 00:37:01 you've ceded control. Right, right. But with that control- That's not gonna happen in Pittsburgh. No, no, Ocho, you see the control. Right, right. But with that control- That's not gonna happen in Pittsburgh. No, no, absolutely, but you have to understand that Jets start with that control and we allowing you to take the keys to the team and put the pieces around you,
Starting point is 00:37:18 they felt that's what you needed to succeed. It just didn't happen the way that they saw. Well, you gotta, I think it would have had he bought all the way in. When Tampa turned it over to Tom, what did Tom do? He bought all the way in. When Denver turned it over to Peyton, he bought all the way in.
Starting point is 00:37:37 That's not what Aaron did. Was half way in? Half way in. He locked in, now though. Yeah. Y'all allow me to write to be wrong on this, but I think for the Jets, he had to be pretty spectacular for them to win, right?
Starting point is 00:37:58 I think with the Steelers, because their defense is pretty good, that I don't think it'd be a whole lot of pressure on him. Plus he got a lot of, he got some help offensively to where he'll be a lot better, I think, for the Steelers than he was for the Jets. I think the offensive line is better, but the problem that they ran in, and this is what I said,
Starting point is 00:38:17 and I remember having this conversation, I said, Ocho, you're saying he just needs to be Aaron Rodgers. I said, now what happens if that defense isn't what it was for those other quarterbacks? Right. Zach Wilson. So let's just say for the sake of argument, that defense slips a little bit.
Starting point is 00:38:33 Yeah. And you see, as guys start to get older, Joe, and I don't know how it is in basketball, you can speak to this. But as guys get older at the quarterback position, they need more help. Whereas guys, Aaron Rodgers five years ago, six years ago, no problem.
Starting point is 00:38:54 But you could have put a sister of North out there with him, he would have succeeded. He could do it. But as you get older, you need more help. A la Tom goes to Tampa, a la Peyton goes to Denver. Look at the receiving help that he had. Look at the running backs, look at the offensive line. All those things go into play.
Starting point is 00:39:16 I do believe he has a better offensive line than what he has, okay? He got DK, they lost Pickens. They got Calvin Austin III. So they got some players, so we'll see. We'll see Warren, the running back. We'll see how that turns out. But I don't think he needs to be 40 touchdown Aaron.
Starting point is 00:39:37 I don't. I don't think they have a 40 touchdown offense. Could be, you could be right. I see that. You could be right. You could be right. I say that respectfully. The Bengals have a 40 touchdown offense. For sure, absolutely. Yes, yes, yes. You know why?
Starting point is 00:39:56 Because their defense aren't very good. Cause they're gonna be playing, they're gonna be in some shootouts. It's just real talk. They're gonna be in the shootout. They don't talk. Come on, that's the shot of the team now. But they gonna be, oh y'all defense are not very good.
Starting point is 00:40:13 You see y'all lost games 41-38, y'all lost 38-35, y'all lost 34-31. Right, you right. Y'all gonna be in games like that. Listen, this is a new year though. This is a new year. This is, we don't, we don't know what's gonna happen. Matter of fact, we got football tomorrow too.
Starting point is 00:40:29 I forgot about that. Yeah. Oh, this is the last, this is the last weekend you won't have football until middle of February. February. So moving forward, you got preseason and then, you know, you got college and then you got NFL, college, NFL, college, NFL. And then when the college go and then you have bowl season, you have playoffs.
Starting point is 00:40:48 So yeah. Hey, he's here now. Yes. Here now. Devontae Adams cleared the air with Jimmy G during dark time as Raiders teammate. It's amazing. I love Jimmy. He said, it was never a personal thing.
Starting point is 00:41:03 I was hoping we didn't have to have these conversations, but I'm surprised This is the first time it's been brought up, but it's been amazing We got to catch up on to get on the right page obviously that was just a dark moment in all of our lives I think all of us were pretty miserable over there We kind of caught up and laughed about it, and we've been making plays since we got out here. It's so it's been fun and laugh about it and we've been making plays since we got out here. So it's been fun. Either one of you guys ever had an awkward fallout
Starting point is 00:41:29 with a former teammate and had to squash the beef once you guys became teammates again? Joe, you? Nah, I ain't never had no beef with none of my teammates or none of that, nah. You in there, Ocho? Nah, nah, nah. I was a fun guy, Joe.
Starting point is 00:41:48 I mean, the same way I am on the show, as I was in the locker room, same way I was on the field. Like, there was a, I was just fun, man. I was a fun dude, Joe. I ain't had no problem with nobody. I think I got in one scuffle one time, but with my safety at training camp, Madhu Williams. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:09 And that was it. Yeah, I didn't even. I mean, I left Denver, went to Baltimore, left Baltimore, went back to Denver now. I've never had an awkward fall out. We had to squash B. I mean. Well, well, Joe, I had that one fight, Joe.
Starting point is 00:42:32 Like when we played, we played the Ravens. I think I told you, Joe, I don't think I told you that story. We played the Ravens. We was at B&T, what's the name of the stadium? M&T. Yeah, I was at M&T. You know, towards the end of the game, you know, Joe, I went to catch a slant.
Starting point is 00:42:47 Carson threw me a slant, right? Yeah. It was a little high and I jumped for it anyway, right, Joe? Stay with me now. And so I seen Ray at the corner of my eye. I'm a peripheral vision. I'm like, I don't even count for to try to go get it anyway. And I was like, oh, the ball's whacked.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Mistake. I started to come down and Ray hit me on the side of my ear hole. And I'm like, well, wait a minute, that was Ray that just hit me. We just prayed before the game. So I know before, I know before they tell you to hit me like that. So Joe, I jumped up, right?
Starting point is 00:43:19 And I like went after him, I was finna square up with him, right? He finna get active with old Ray. Wait, hey, I was finna put these hands him. Right Joe? You finna get active with old Ray. Hey, hey, I was finna put these hands on you, right? But then boom, I think Ed Reed grabbed me. So when Ed grabbed me, I was like, nah, you gonna have to answer for that. That's what I said in my mind.
Starting point is 00:43:34 So after the game, right Joe? Yeah. I went to the Raven's locker room. I went looking for Ray. So I walked in the locker room and security like, hey. He ain't know where he was. Yeah, he can't, you can't be here. So I waited, they was, so I waited in the locker room and security like, hey. He ain't know where he was. Yeah, he can't, you can't be here. So I waited, they was, so I waited in the parking lot,
Starting point is 00:43:49 but then the teen bus hit the horn for me to go. And that kind of like saved me from walking Ray's ass. But you just wanted to, you just wanted to get something straight, you wasn't really gonna put no power on. Yeah, yeah, like Joe, before every game, I swore for God for a decade straight. Joe, for a decade straight, we didn't miss one game. Me and Ray, he gave me a scripture.
Starting point is 00:44:09 We sat on the phone. We read the scripture before we went to play the game. Whether we were playing each other or not, consistently for a decade straight. How the hell we just prayed before the game and you hit me like that? Yeah, he prayed you gonna knock your ass out. And Joe, I'll pay.
Starting point is 00:44:26 Well, Joe, listen, it would have took all 12 disciples to get me off of rape, boy, if I would have caught him after that game. I would have called him right there on the field. You should have called him right there on the field. No, cause I would have got fined. So I would, listen, you know how it go. When you're angry, you don't think logically. So if Ed Reed hadn't have held me, I would have turned you know, you know how it go when you're angry. You don't think logically
Starting point is 00:44:45 So if every had to help me I would have turned that 52 upside down that bitch with a red 25 Grab your helmet cuz he knocked your helmet smooth off. You thought your head was in it You went and pick your hair with up like damn Hey, hey, hey here Florida boy, too, huh? Yeah. Yeah boy right from Lakeland right up the street now, right? He's right right up the street. Yeah, y'all know No, but that, you know better. He caught me, he caught me the same way. He caught me under my chin on the deep end, cause yeah. He got you too?
Starting point is 00:45:33 Got me too. I caught it, I was trying to break it in, hit me right up under my chin. I say, boop, take it. Ain't great touching anything compares him. Oh, for sure. Yeah, yeah. Hey, that boy wasn't rate touching anything compared to him. He's a player. Oh, for sure. Yeah, yeah. Hey, that boy wasn't that nice right there, boy.
Starting point is 00:45:49 Ocho, look at this, Ocho, look what I got. Oh. That's Pickens? That's Lil' Pickens, yeah. No pick, man. I knew it was Pick soon as I saw that damn face mask. I said, they got to be Pick helmet. Carl, but nice, boy.
Starting point is 00:46:04 Hey, man, hey, Pick like, hey, nobody want no bingles helmet back in the day, Ocho. Man, Pick just said, here man, take this. I don't want to take it back home. Hey, I thought the bingles used to have some decent helmets, huh? Man, ain't nobody want, the bingles were terrible. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:46:23 Now, him and Jeff Blake, ain't nobody throw a deep ball like Jeff Blake, Ain't nobody thought he ball that Jeff Blake oh, yeah. He had a pretty ball way Just like Aaron Rodgers throw the hell Mary that's like a Jeff would throw that throw the deep ball That they just like it just come down and pick pick just run right up on it. Hey him and him and Darnay, buddy Yeah, it was nice, but Hey him and him and Darnay boy they used to be. Yeah. They were nice boy. Yeah Ocho I got me on me. Do y'all still got the helpers like this Ocho?
Starting point is 00:46:50 They still like this right? It's still the same. It's still the same. Well you know we got the white ones now. You know they got the white ones. Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah. That's y'all color rush though right? Yeah that's the color rush there.
Starting point is 00:47:00 Okay. Ocho we have more info coming out on Christian Wilkins Adam Shepter shares was an awkward kiss Incident between Kristen Wilkins and a Raiders teammate Wilkins kissed a fellow player on the head and the teammate took offense to it The incident happened inside the team meeting room report says the interaction was playful But the teammate didn't see it that way Shepafter adds, the incident was not the sole reason Wilkins was cut. Is the real...
Starting point is 00:47:32 Ocho, wait, hold on. This is Schafter talking. Allegedly, this was an incident that took place. Right. When did men start playing like this, Ocho? Forget, I understand it's 2025, it's a different time. And I don't care what your letter is in the alphabet. Be you.
Starting point is 00:47:54 I'm cool with it. You be the L, you be the B, you be the T, you be the Q, plural, whatever the case may be. Have at it. When did men in a football, in a setting like this, when did they start playing like this, Ocho? Was it after I left the game? Was it like last week, a couple of weeks ago?
Starting point is 00:48:13 You stayed a little bit, I retired in 04. You retired in 2012 from the NFL. So you stayed a little longer than I did. So when did this start happening, Ocho? Oh, I don't know, I don't know. I think that's- Who plays like happening, Ocho? Hey, I don't know. I don't know. I think that's our- Who plays like that, Ocho? The people I hang around based on where I'm from, I don't see that type of activity.
Starting point is 00:48:34 I don't see that type of- Listen, we have- Excuse me. We have playful banter, but the playful banter- Yeah! And we conduct it. It ain't like that. It ain't in that manner. So it's news to me. It ain't like that. It ain't in that manner. So I, I, it is news to me is new to me. Um, I don't know Christian Wilkinson, you know, person Wilkins. I don't know him personally. You know, I, I, I know of him, you know, as, as a, as a fun,
Starting point is 00:48:56 energetic, uh, type of player, he's done some funny things, you know? Um, yeah, they got that picture when they, I think there was a national championship game or one game and the guys on the ground Yeah, yeah, I'm like bro guys don't play look maybe maybe they do not I shouldn't say I'm just from an era. Right guys didn't play like that and Yeah, look. Yeah, we horseplay. We might nail somebody locker short, shut. We might put powder or water in your shoulder pads.
Starting point is 00:49:32 And when you grab them, it come down on top of you. Do guys horseplay around like that? Yes. Do we soak the rookies clothes, put them in the cold tub and then put them in the freezer? Yes. We've seen guys, you know, basketball players put popcorn in the guy's car. We've seen guys, you know, basketball players put popcorn in the guy's car.
Starting point is 00:49:46 We've seen stuff like that. Ocho, not like, and I've seen some stuff in the locker room. Now I've seen some guys play that even I was like, y'all nasty, that girl, hey. But. Not to that magnitude, though. Not no kissing on, not even kissing on the forehead, not even no joking manner.
Starting point is 00:50:07 Yeah, I don't know. It's hard to say I'm not in the locker room. I wasn't actually there. And obviously Shepard did his best job in describing what happened. And obviously knowing- Think about it, Ocho. Ocho, remember we talked about it.
Starting point is 00:50:20 Of all the things they could have said, why did they say this? Now they could have said anything. He they say this? Now they could have said anything. He stole somebody's car. He stole $1,500 from somebody. He forged a check. Of all the things they could have tagged the young man with, allegedly, they put this? Yeah. I mean, listen, it's alleged that's actually what happened. You know, it had to come from somewhere. So that means that's exactly what happened. Would they have it had to come from somewhere. So that means that's exactly what happened. Where there's smoke, there's fire.
Starting point is 00:50:47 Right. Where there's smoke, there's fire. So it is what it is, whoever the player was, they took a fence to it. Maybe they got in a little scuffle. Maybe it caused an issue. And maybe that was just the icing on the cake for them to release him based on the other issues
Starting point is 00:51:00 and other incidents about him missing games last year and then not doing what's required to make sure he gets on the field in the time demanded this year. Maybe they would have been fed up. If I'm not mistaken, Ocho, they said this incident happened earlier. So I don't know if it happened, say in the off season, it happened at some point in time during the season. Um, obviously there was, there was a diff, a, a, a fracturing, a fracturing where a fracturing,
Starting point is 00:51:26 where they like, bro, you need the surgery. He says no, it seems like he said no. Maybe they wanted a second opinion. He didn't want to get a second opinion because here's the thing. You could, you could like, okay, you got a torn ACL and the doctor said, well, you need to get this. So you're like, no, I'm gonna let it heal on its own. You can like, okay, you got a torn ACL and not to say, well, you need to get this. So you're like, no, I'm gonna let it heal on its own.
Starting point is 00:51:45 You can do that. I wouldn't advise it, but you can do it. They tell you to go get a second opinion, Ocho. You can do that. And both doctors say the same thing. You say, no, I'm good. I wouldn't advise it, but you can do that. I don't get why he wouldn't considering
Starting point is 00:52:09 he had guaranteed money. He had $35 million coming to him that was guaranteed. So he was at, I could see Ocho, if I didn't have guaranteed money coming in, if there was a situation like nah bro, I need to get on the field, but he got guaranteed money. And so they say, nah, it's not healing like it's supposed to. You need to have another surgery. Right. I just don't, I don't get that. That's what's being reported.
Starting point is 00:52:30 Now we don't know what's true or not, but look, the truth is somewhere in between this box. Yeah. Between the kiss on the forehead, the second opinion, they wanted to have surgery again, something. The truth is somewhere in here, Ocho. We just don't know where it's at, but we think the truth is somewhere in this box.
Starting point is 00:52:49 Well, listen, what you can do is you can hear the situations, right? And it's like having a puzzle piece. All right, we got good pieces to the puzzle, and you can just fill out the rest of the puzzle based on the actions that have happened and what you're hearing. So obviously, you missed games last year.
Starting point is 00:53:05 Okay. Well, I think you only played five games, Ocho. I think you got hurt after the fifth game. Okay. Listen, all right. We're going into a new season. You still not healthy. Right. You might've only got a second opinion.
Starting point is 00:53:16 Maybe your second opinion said, you know what? You need to just relax and let it heal on its own. Maybe the team said, well, you need to get surgery. So again, now we're going to another season. You missed so many games last year. Now the season rolling around again, you're still not healthy. You're not on the field. They see you on camera dancing around, you know, having fun and doing stuff that's not for one, helping the team, two, that's not helping yourself. And three, what we're paying you millions of dollars to do, you're not earning that. You're not earning that.
Starting point is 00:53:46 You're not gonna do that on our time or our clock. Right. And so they made a business decision. Yes. I agree. I'm looking at it like I said, if he's in the last year of his contract, he doesn't have this guaranteed money,
Starting point is 00:54:00 and he thinks like, hey, I get it. I totally get it. But he got, he got, he got what he had already got like 49 million. He got another seven coming this year. And then guess what, Ocho? He got another 25 coming, another 25, 27 coming the following year. So he's protected. That's why, that's why guys want these guaranteed contracts, Ocho, so I can be protected, not just for one year, but for multiple years. So I get it. But if the report is what Chef is saying is true, I just don't know when this started taking place,
Starting point is 00:54:37 guys. Like I said, Ocho, we ain't look, I done put more, I done gone through so many tubes of toothpaste, putting toothpaste on a guy's door in training camp, cause I know all he gonna do is just walk out the door and pull it shut. He ain't gonna look back at it, he just gonna grab it and got him. I done poured so much alcohol and lit it on fire and up under the door.
Starting point is 00:54:58 Yeah, we play pranks like that. But we know, look, you ain't, don't touch a man's, you know. Boy, I saw somebody almost got the Brakes beat off him. He took his hair, he took his brush, took the dude's brush and combed his pubic, brushed his pubic hair with it. With his brush? And put it back. Hey, that, that, that, that, that, that, that, that,
Starting point is 00:55:18 Okay, so you see, people don't play, now. Yeah. It ain't nothing, it ain't nothing but a brush. It ain't nothing, hey, it ain't that serious. Yeah. People don't play now. It ain't nothing but a brush. It ain't that serious. People don't play. The way you play, everybody don't play like that. And you need to understand that. Because you're dealing with, like I said, I don't get it. I just, like I said, I grew up at a time where men didn't play, men rarely, didn't play at all. I remember my grandfather them telling those jokes. I like I said, and we told a story about brother.
Starting point is 00:55:52 I just sat down with him about somebody made a joke about my grandfather's teeth. As my grandfather was driving off, he had his teeth. He had his false teeth. They were sitting on the dash and got a, Mr. Barney, don't let your teeth run away. My grandfather put that car in reverse, stopped that car and got out.
Starting point is 00:56:14 So don't play. I'm old enough to be your dad. They don't play with me. He said, I'm a grown ass man. He say, find somebody to play with. And I'm not him. He say find somebody to play with and I'm not him. Man, probably about five to a year before he's bought my grab. Cause you know, back, all people should go get the,
Starting point is 00:56:32 the gas station, get that full service, Ocho. Yes, sir. You know what I'm saying? They ain't get a pump, they all get, then hey, cause you did the windows. And you know what I'm saying, Ocho, you did the window, got the windows all night. And you know,
Starting point is 00:56:42 They still do that, they still do that in Jersey, huh? Oh, they do that? Yeah, still do that in Jersey. Huh? Oh, they do that Yeah, they do that in Jersey. Okay man, and so I'm I'm surprised I'm really surprised that uh in a today's society that Allegedly what Kristen Wilkins did I mean cuz he's like I said There are some things that like in in in that surface, and I don't know, it might be AI, it's hard to say, hell,
Starting point is 00:57:08 I don't got the way, I don't really believe nothing on the internet anymore, because I don't even know if it's real Ocho, if it's AI. Because AI have, you know, got an alligator riding a horse. So Ocho, I don't even know what to believe anymore, Ocho. But I'm just saying, guys, stop playing so much. All these people in pranks and all this stuff, and you see people walking up
Starting point is 00:57:34 and they trying to prank somebody and they doing all this stuff. Y'all stop that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Come on, come on now. You gonna get yourself hurt. And the first thing somebody's family gonna say, they didn't have to do him like that,
Starting point is 00:57:51 or they didn't have to do her like that. No, you didn't have to play like that. People, everybody don't play the same. Somebody gonna let y'all have it. So just stop, just stop. Like you said, Ocho, that's a total stranger. You don't know them from Adam. And I know some, I know I got great friends,
Starting point is 00:58:12 but we know how to play and we know what to say when we play certain things. There's certain things that's off limits and you understand that. That's a total stranger you did it with. Go ahead, Ocho. You always know what line not to cross. You know your friends. You always know what line not to cross you know your friends You always know what what what can get that what buttons to push you know a button's not to push
Starting point is 00:58:31 You know what line not to cross And there's there's great understanding with that when it's someone that you've been friends with for a very long time now When somebody knew like you're on a new team a teammate that you don't know that well outside of that building, there are certain things you can't do. You can't conduct yourself, you know, the way you conduct yourself with somebody you know in 20, 25 years. That's why you go in a new environment.
Starting point is 00:58:57 You sit back and you observe. Yeah. Okay, I can joke with him. Can't joke with him. Or I can say something like this to him. Yeah. can't say that to him. You gotta read the room That's why you observe give yourself a month or two three months Excuse me to observe and see who you can and can't play with Yeah, who you could talk to who you can make joke with who you could do certain things to you just need to, who you can make jokes with, who you can do certain things to. You just need to be observant. Because being in a locker room,
Starting point is 00:59:27 because you got a lot of different backgrounds on show, people come from a lot of different areas. I mean, the social economic background, the different religions, the different ideology, how somebody was raised. And you don't know what the trigger is. You just don't want to be the one to pull it. Right.
Starting point is 00:59:45 So, I'm sorry, the young man, but hopefully they get this resolved because he's extremely talented. He can play. Oh yeah. He's gone to the pro bowl. He can play. Yeah, he can rush the pass.
Starting point is 00:59:59 He's tremendous against the run. It seems to me that he really enjoys the game. Sometimes I think he enjoys it too much, but this, I just, like I said, we don't know. Shepter's reporting that this incident did happen, but he said that's not the, that's not the sole reason of why they chose to go in this direction. We don't know. Like I said, that's what Shepter's being reported. We're reporting basically, we're commenting on what Shepter's reporting. What we do know is that he's been released and they're basically saying we ain't paying you. He filed agreements with the
Starting point is 01:00:37 NFLPA trying to get the guaranteed money that he believes he's owed. We'll see.
