Good people.
What's up?
What's up?
It's Questlove.
So recently I had the incredible.
opportunity to have a real conversation with an actress and producer, Jamie Lee Curtis,
from routines to recovery, true lies, and a certain Jermaine Jackson music video.
Jamie's surreal and raw, and something I really admire about her.
I am so happy that I'm the head bitch in charge at 67, that I have the perspective that I have
at my age to really be able to put all of this into context.

How you doing today, Joe?
I'm doing great, brother, Dibo.
Another good day.
Another blessed day.
Be on the pod.
Chop it up.
Talk this good ball with my good man.
Yes, sir.
Yes, sir.
Definitely.
Brother, before we get started, we are actually going to talk about the possibility of
Russell Wilson.
they said immersion as one of the people that could end up going to Kansas City.
But looking right now, they just got some breaking news right here that Justin Fields looks like he's going to be there.
Adam Schaffner said, Trade, the New York, the New York Jet, sorry, are finalizing the deal that will send Justin Fields to Kansas City pending a physical.
per ESPN sources, other teams that were in, it was other things, other teams that were
interested, but Fields preferred preference was to go to Kansas City.
Yes.
Yeah, that would be, that was more man, Debo.
Yeah.
That would definitely be my, my preference too.
And I really didn't think it was nowhere that, uh, Russell would actually be going just
because I didn't, I didn't think that was something that.
they would personally want to do.
And when you looked at everybody that was out there,
I think the only thing that would be close to it looking for somebody with veteran
leadership would probably be Kirk Cousins, but I don't see him accepting a short deal
to go there and basically just, you know, line up to, you know, to backup because, I mean,
for Justin Fields, this could be a great opportunity for him.
Well, for sure.
anybody that's in that position, that's a quarterback that's like, nobody really knows if you're a starter backup.
You're trying to figure, you're trying to still get yourself right.
Patrick Mahomes is going to come back there.
You're trying to go to a team that's established.
They got Andy Reid.
They have great coaching.
So if you want to be able to get your last draw, like he had his chance.
We came from New York, then with the Pittsburgh, then, you know what I'm saying, different situations.
If I'm a quarterback, I'm trying to go to the best situation possible to show that I still
got it. You know what I'm saying? It's not me. You know what I'm saying? Get to a system where
if you don't succeed with the chiefs, Justin Fields, it's not that it's the kind of like,
then it's not looking good for you. Do you know what I'm saying? So if I'm, if I'm him,
I'm super excited. I'm trying to get there to Kansas City because you got people working
around you. It's not just, they're not just trying to put it all on you. Andy Reid is moving
to shake in the offense. There's going to be moving parts. People are going to be going
in motions. So it's great quarterback spot to be for, um, for
if somebody's in a situation like him, I'm super excited for him because they were talking about
Russell Wilson.
With the Chiefs, they know they got Patrick Mahomes.
They just need somebody to come in there and steady the ship just for a little bit.
Just don't come out here.
Don't try to go crazy.
Don't mess nothing up.
We're the Chiefs.
We're good.
Patrick Mahomes is on the way.
You just come out here and don't do nothing crazy.
We just went and got you a running back to Kenneth Walker.
So we're going to, you know what I'm saying?
We're trying to get the ground game right.
We're not going to have you out here just trying to sling it.
it all around. We know you're not Patrick Mahomes. So I like it for the Chiefs. I like it for
Justin Fields because his situation, you need to get to a team that, you know what I'm saying,
makes you look good. It makes that way. This is your, this is your hurrah. You know what I'm saying?
People are always bouncing around. We don't know. So this is the best situation I think for him to
be able to be like, all right, back, like this is my last hurrah. Yeah, but for me, I don't know.
I don't know why that would be like his, I mean, I don't know who the other teams were, so I couldn't say exactly.
But for me, it's like, okay, I'm going to go here and take what it's going to end up being a backup position.
And depending on if he signs a year or more, you know, whatever that term of that contract is, it's going to be as a backup.
So you necessarily going there to show and then be able to leave only works if it's a year deal.
I mean, I'm hoping that's what the case is.
but if it's not, then you're just going there to sit there and, you know,
primarily just back up Patchman Holmes, and you basically didn't give up, you know,
your right to just go and fight for a starting position.
Yeah, but what else are your options?
Nobody's beating down Justin Fields door, in my opinion.
So for me, I'm just, if I'm him, I'm trying to get on the team that I know maybe
Patchman Holmes is going to come back.
But the Kansas City Chiefs, the organization, the spot, being able to show people
like just trying to put my best foot forward.
I want to get on the team that already got kind of wheels rolling.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm just a piece of the puzzle showing dudes like I'm just not,
I'm not going to bring down your team.
So I think for him, it's like I can come here,
still show people that I can be a starting quarterback.
It's not my fault.
So I'm hearing you with the one year deal back up.
But I'm like, nobody's beating down Justin Fields door
to be their starting quarterback somewhere.
Yeah, yeah, I understand what you're saying.
I just, that was, you know, really,
I only thought or concerned about it.
No, I feel you then.
I feel you because if you, if you, you're trying to go get a starting job.
You know, Patrick when Holmes is coming back, I'm not starting here.
Well, we'll see.
If it's a year deal, then yeah, it could be a possibility of something, him going out there saying,
okay, look, I played great.
This is what I could do when you put me in something that, you know, it's designed for me.
It's a good group of coaches.
It's a good player.
when you put me in something like this right here,
this is what I'm able to do.
Like I said, if that's a year deal and he goes out there and he balls out,
then, yeah, it could be a possibility of something
where next year he could be going somewhere else
and possibly have a chance of fight for a starting position.
That's, I mean, if it ends up being a year deal,
then, yeah, I would change my opinion or thought process.
I think you got a good thought process because you're trying to think
Justin Fields wants to continue.
If you want to continue to be a starting quarterback,
you're not going to be the future starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs.
So if that's the long term, like, that's not the spot that you would want him to go.
You know what I'm saying?
So I'm with you on that.
Yeah, yeah.
But I guess ESPN said the Stiller's offseason moves hint at McCarthy's offensive plan.
Yes, Joe.
Hint, what you mean hint?
What did I tell y'all Tuesday?
Are you talking about a hint?
like, Joe, what did I say last week as soon as we signed Rico Dowell, Joe?
What did I say, Joe?
I said, that ain't no hint.
That was a statement.
We are dedicating to running the ball, okay, getting back to Stiller football.
And just as, boy, was it, Michael Pittman, when he was on the Pat McAfee, Joe, about
this conversation with Mike McCarthy, he said, he got him fired up.
He said, he felt like Pittsburgh.
He said style of football.
What style is that?
Smash mouth, gritty.
And he feels like he fits perfectly.
Okay?
Joe, do you know what this reminds me of right now?
What does this remind you up, Brother Debo?
This reminds me of back when Ben first came in,
we had a strong running game with Bussie, with Parker,
Toe, we run, run.
They say, oh, shit, they're running on this eight, nine in the box.
Boom, and then we bomb on the head.
Now, the hint, the hint was when we picked up Pittman Jr., okay?
That's a guy that can actually catch the ball very good, you know what I'm saying?
And anything you throw to him, he'll go do it, and he's big.
But the hint was he liked to get physical, okay?
The boy liked the block.
He liked the dirty part of his job.
We're going to need all that.
Okay?
Now right there, you got another receiver in DK
that like to do the same name.
Like to get real physical.
Hey, what Rico said that?
Mike McCart, he wants to establish everything at the line of scrimmage
and do it successfully.
The run game, that's where you start with the line of scrimmage,
the run game.
You know what they do when you're successful?
That lead the team stacking the box.
And now they're giving you the one-on-ones with D-K.
And the added advantage of that, we got tight ends.
We got fire moves in Washington, both good blocking tight ends that can catch the ball.
Yes, yes, yes.
No, I'm a little excited about what we can look like.
And we can get that done, do it successfully.
That takes a whole lot of pressure off of the quarterback position.
And if Will Howard is our guy, that's a great position for him to be in as a young quarterback.
back. Just as it was for Ben, when he started his career. I know ain't no decision on Aaron Rogers
right now, but he's not playing for Aaron Rogers to have to make his decisions. He's building this
team for the future. And while we wait on Rogers and see if he go either play or retire,
we still are building towards the future and preparing so that we could do it either way.
Rather, it's will going in there, finding out if he can't do it.
And if he can't, it's always next year where we could go and pick up a quarterback.
Joe, what do you think?
I think you are preaching the gospel right now, Debo.
Because actions speak louder than words.
Who were we going to go get?
Who are we going to go out there and get?
Dooring free agency, what we needed was a receiver.
We went and got that.
Big physical.
Michael Pittman Jr.
What we said we needed was a,
Another running back because we lost Gangwell.
We got Donald.
What we needed was another cornerback, opposite Peezy.
We got that.
So what he's doing is he's making, he's not letting us know right now.
The quarterback wasn't what I think that we needed.
Right now on our roster, we had Will Howard, we have Mason Rudolph.
We're waiting for Aaron Rogers, we're chilling and seeing what's going on.
But right now in my room, there was Malik Willis out there.
And do y'all, we could have, okay, everybody could say that.
But the other quarterbacks out there, it was Kyle Murray, you know what I'm saying?
Tua, Gino Smith, you know what I'm saying?
And now there's Kirk Cousins still out there that's chilling.
So he's like, would you want me to go jump and get one of these quarterbacks where back in the day in free agency, we went and got Mitch Chubisky.
We signed Justin Fields.
You know what I'm saying?
We signed Russell Wilson as like quarterbacks to come in.
Like, that's just, that's not going to change the needle.
We would just be bringing in another guy, you know what I'm saying?
so it would just be status quo.
So right now, what he's saying is,
I'm not just going to go do that.
Right now, I have Will Howard.
He's been the backup quarterback last year under Aaron Rogers,
watched him, seeing what was going on, he was hurt.
So that was a year under his belt to be able to,
he just didn't have to come in and play his rookie season.
Like maybe it takes him a little bit of time,
understanding the game, chilling, just the flow, the vibe, the locker room,
how the NFL works.
So McCarthy's here.
Oh, I like Will.
We're going to have a chance to really go in here.
Getting ready for a game means being ready for anything.

It's Questlove.
So recently I had the incredible opportunity to have a real conversation with, uh,
Actress and producer Jamie Lee Curtis ahead of the release of her new thriller series, Scarpetta.
I can honestly say I've never done an interview like that before.
You know, at one point I shut my laptop down.
And we just started chatting as old friends, recent Oscar recipient.
So we have some commonality there.
I predicted that, by the way.
And you said these words to me, dust off your mantle.
Yes.
And I looked at you and I said,
And you said dust off your mantle.
And then I left and that was it.
And then when all of that happened, I remember the next morning, I think I wanted to like write you and go, how did you know?

Why hasn't a woman formerly participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade?
Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age.
What can we learn from all of the first?
the new F1 romance novel suddenly popping up every year.
He still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction.
And how did a 2023 event called Wag Ageden change the paddock forever?
That day is just seared into my memory.
I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman,

With this big dude that's learned the game a year, he's not a rookie again.
He's the second year, you know what I'm saying, drafted player from Ohio State.
He played in big games.
So I like him as the quarterback.
I like it more than I want to bring in the Tua or I want to bring in to Kyle
of Murray or sign a Malik Willis for $20 some million a year.
You know what I'm saying?
The draft is still there.
There's still Kirk cousin sitting there for the local backup.
But like, and when you say that about Kurt, Kurt got to take the little deal.
Gino's taking the 3.3 from wherever he signed at.
I forgot who Gino Smith just signed with.
But he's taking 3.3 million.
So like these veteran older dudes like that, there's not too many dudes out there.
We got Mason, we got Will.
So I'm saying, action to be loud than words.
He went and got what we needed.
Receiver, running back, we're going to run the ball.
We're going to be physical.
Okay, that's going to protect a quarterback,
and he's not going to have to be, my man, Josh Allen.
You know what I'm saying?
He's not going to have to come do too much.
He's going to have to just be out there, not making mistakes.
Hand the ball off.
We're going to keep it down the distance.
We're going to stay ahead of the sticks.
Third and short, third and threes.
Third and fours is way easier than third and nines.
So we're just going to be consistent with that.
Defense, lock up.
We got ballers here.
The spots that we got like, you know what I'm saying?
Joey Porter Jr., you're going to have to stand up.
Obviously, you're baller.
Sean.
They're standing up.
TJ, stand up.
All of the players that we have stand up.
You know what I'm saying?
So I'm looking at it.
We still got time.
We still got draft picks to get stuff there.
But I'm like, I'm not in a rush.
What are we?
What are we rushing for?
We got, I believe if what McCarthy feels that he's not making a move and I do, he did make
moves.
We're just not making the certain moves that you all feel like, oh, no, we need a quarterback
so they're not making moves.
No, making plenty of moves, making the right moves, educated moves, moves that he believes
that he believes they're not crazy just jumping out for no reason.
So that's how I feel about it.
And, yeah, I think this still is a new and gray and we're going to be solid.
Yeah, plus, you know, Mike McCarthy.
said that he likes you.
Come on.
He was impressed with him.
I've obviously what he did at O State.
So from there, you know, yeah, we're waiting on, you know, Rogers, so to speak.
But, you know, depending on how long that way it is, you know, they let Will get in there.
You get through OTAs.
You do some of that stuff like that.
And now is that a situation where, yo, they're not seeing what they've seen in OTAs.
Rogers decides that he wants to come back or he's willing to come back.
But now is that a position?
where we're like, okay, you can come back, but it's a backup.
I don't see him coming back as a backup.
I don't see that happening, especially if they done, went through a process and they don't,
you know what I'm saying?
So I like what he's doing.
I'm cool with everything that he's doing.
And especially just like, you know what, we got this dude here.
I like him.
I liked him at allstate.
I'm going to go with him.
I'm going to give him an opportunity from everything that he said.
It sounds like he's going to give him an opportunity.
So I'm all game with it, going with it, and running with it, and just seeing where it is.
Because we're still building everything to where we'll have everything in place except for the quarterback.
If, that's if it doesn't work out in our favor.
Yeah.
And if he don't hit, then we're, we still got players at all the other positions.
So we know we need a quarterback.
We need to address that.
But you don't know what you don't know.
So you got to let him play and then we'll know.
No question, brother.
No question.
Kenneth Gainwell admitted that the Steelers weren't his first choice.
Gainwell addressed the media as a member of the Bucks.
He admitted he had hoped that he would have signed with the Buccaneers last season over the Steelers.
He said, it was a great opportunity for me.
I wanted to be here last year, but, you know, I'm just happy to be here now.
It was a great opportunity for me back in, to be back in the South.
I'm from here and cool.
What do you, you got any issues with this?
I mean, what do you think of this statement?
You think he's throwing any slack?
I think you're throwing any shade.
Brother Debo, no, no.
I think he's being honest.
And that's what happens when you ask people questions.
They're going to give you an honest answer.
You know, I don't think it has to do with any shade.
He also said he appreciates, you know what I'm saying,
the time in Pittsburgh.
He was able to let him show his talent, show his skills.
You know what I'm saying?
So if you just put it in the story,
certain quote, want to go back to the South. Say, he played with Philly. You know what I'm saying?
It's home. It's the, it's hot. Would you rather play in Florida than in Pittsburgh?
You know what I'm saying? Like, maybe Tampa wouldn't give him the deal. And now he was trying
to get there. They got more money from Pitt. No, he would prove it. So now he got the sign
where he wants to play. So like, if you just been honest, it's like, it wasn't my first choice.
Maybe Pittsburgh, people like, would you rather, would you rather go to Pittsburgh or Tampa?
Some people might want to go to Pittsburgh. Gamewell's more of a Southern guy.
He's from old, he's from
Mississippi.
You know what I'm saying?
So that could just be preference.
So I'm not,
I don't think that he's throwing shade.
I just think that if people ask you a question,
you're able to give an honest answer
where it doesn't have to be not like,
it's not throwing shade to nowhere.
I respect everything that happened there.
He went hard.
He did everything he had to do.
He's not like he cut corners
because he didn't like the Pittsburgh.
No, he bought out.
He was the offensive MVP for the team.
So like,
No, he was the MVP.
Yeah, so like he went hard.
So right now,
He can say that because you did everything you had to do.
They asked you, was that your first, actually it wasn't my first choice.
I wanted to be in Tampa.
You know what I'm saying?
Back home back from the South, boom, cool.
No shade, honest answer.
Thank you, Gainwell.
I hope you succeed and do abundantly great.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, I think it's just, you ask me a question.
I'm going to give you honest answer.
Yeah, I ain't seeing no shade with it.
Nothing, nothing like that.
I mean, man, got a two for 14.
What else you want him to say?
Like, I mean, he said, you know, last year he would have, if that was on the option of one of the places he could have went or whatever, he would have went there.
It ain't always about where you want to go.
It comes down to who wants you.
And if it happens to be where you want to be.
Good.
You know what I'm saying?
Yes.
And if it's not, then oh, well, you got to go ahead and get over that and keep moving.
Be a professional.
If people like, if they put it in their perspective, Debo, if, like, somebody had a job to, and they left the job, you know what I'm saying, went to another job and was asked about that when they was like, man, nah, I like this, you know what I'm saying?
They might say some things about that job.
You know what I'm saying?
Like, they're actual real people that you, when you're there, worked your hardest.
You never said nothing about that job.
Once you get out of the dough, you're like, man, that John was kind of, you know what I'm saying, a little different over there.
Look at Mike McCarthy.
He was a guy that he coached Dallas.
What he tell you in is that he's always wanted to be a coach for the Pittsburgh still is the opportunities, timing and alignment.
It wasn't there.
Everything fell in place.
And now he's right there where he's always wanted to be probably since he was a kid.
You know what I'm saying?
Hey, you can't make that up.
He was from the crib.
So people like, you can say there's the status quo answers, the politically corrects.
But when you get down to it, like, you know, like, you.
You were a Pittsburgh fan, but he couldn't say that when Coach T is coaching the team.
How are you going, you know what I'm saying?
Like, you just green back.
You can't even talk about them over there.
Oh, man.
Oh, man.
I don't even want to talk about this.
Oh, yeah.
Somebody's, somebody, somebody, I guess NFL analyst.
You know what it is.
You know exactly what time.
Uh-huh.
Yeah.
No.
White East and Joe.
What?
Who?
Why they just say, uh, NFL and?
No, no.
He only want to put his name on it.
He put his name.
No, he didn't.
I don't want to say his name because I want to say he didn't put his name.
That's what, because I wouldn't check that.
I don't,
I don't, I don't want to care, Joe, you want to read up on that now, huh?
Don't you?
How?
You want to, you want to, you want to do it.
You see, I was all.
I'm all for the Steelers when we're talking about the Steelers.
You can be.
I ain't never for the Browns.
I ain't never been.
I ain't about to predicate and play Kate like I care about.
Okay, I understand.
You only got one energy.
You only got one energy.
Go ahead.
What do you think of that statement,
don't you think that they are actually playoff caliber?
Do you think that yes, whatever your boy,
Barry Queen is doing over there?
Don't Andrew Barry.
Don't disrespect that, man.
Well, I've been forgotten.
I forgot to the answer.
Sorry.
Jim Andrew Barry of the Cleveland Browns.
GM Andrew Barry.
Yes.
This is what I'm trying.
And see, this is what made me so mad with you because I thought I had.
And then you come on.
See how you got all the Pittsburgh stuff on.
But then you want to come on here.
Because we started, look, because I'm telling you, I gave you the same energy.
When we're talking about this thing.
No, you don't.
You know what we lost?
No, I ain't going to even say we.
Me.
You remember that energy?
Except when we play each other.
Except when we play each other.
That's the only thing.
When we play each other,
I get turned on.
Do you think the Browns are playoff caliber?
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
And this is the reason why.
Listen, listen, we still, the same way I'm talking about Omar Khan cooking and doing what he has to do.
He ain't cooking like Omar.
Don't you put his name in the same thing.
He's not yet.
He's not yet.
But that's the thing.
We don't need splash yet.
We just don't need splash yet.
we need to get the right pieces.
We need to sign right now.
Obviously, like I said, we needed line men.
So we had to go get the offensive line right.
And I think that's going to be an address.
And then we still have to do more addressing
to the offensive line.
We're probably going to get a tackle in the draft.
And who's the offensive line is?
We need to tackle in the right.
What offense line?
We do have an offensive line.
But who is it?
Titus Howard that we just signed from the Texans.
We have an accusation.
We got Eldon Jenkins, Elton Jenkins.
The center slash guard that we got from free agency, from Green Bay.
Okay?
We signed back Taven Jenkins, our guard, and then we signed.
You got E. Jenkins and T.J.J.
And then we got Zion Johnson that we signed as our, for three-year, $49 million.
Dorable.
That's the only one that's going to be there in three years.
There you go.
There you go with that.
We had injured Duane Jones.
He hurt his ACL, so he's going through it.
He should be able to play back.
this year, but we're going to use either.
We got our first round pick is going to be an offense alignment and or wide receiver.
We got two.
So who told you that, Andrew Bell?
No, I just know.
I don't even talk to you.
Listen, I'm not giving out all of our goods right now, Debo.
Just relax.
Just relax.
Me and Andrew Berry are, we good, okay?
That's why I'm letting you know what's going on right now.
We believe Andrew Barry knows.
We got two.
We won't have to worry about.
we don't have to worry about a quarterback right now.
We have two quarterbacks that are going to be fighting for.
We got Deshawn Watson still.
He's going to be on the team this season going against the door.
It's a long year.
So both of them are going to...
Dylan Gabriel ain't even there, huh?
Not, listen.
Yes, he's there.
He's there.
Respectfully, he's there.
But the fight is a two-dog, it's a two-dog race.
And he's not, he's not in it right now.
It's either a two-dog fighter or a two-horse race.
Two horse race or two dog fight.
Either one of the two.
Okay.
So we got that.
The defense.
So you'd be fighting dogs.
No.
See, T-ball.
All right, well, let's change that.
Two horse race.
Okay.
Y'all supposed to be the dog pound.
Look at you.
You're supposed to be a two dogs fight.
Look at you.
Look at you.
That's why I know, Joe.
You still got a lot better that browns in you, man.
So hesitant you were about the, uh-uh.
People love their dogs.
Look at you.
You, people love their dogs.
You know why I got my dog, Joe?
What?
My dog is there to protect me.
He is there to give me enough time to go down there and if need be, get shot and
kill so I could get to my gun and defend myself.
That's it.
I'm going to be hurt that he's gone, but I'm going to go ahead the next day and give me a new one,
raise him right, and get him to do the same thing.
It's an animal.
I love my animal, okay?
You understand that?
But he is there for a purpose.
It ain't to feed him and just say, oh.
cougoo-go-gag-cube boy do-da-da-do.
When somebody running here, the alarm go all,
you better bite him.
You better bite somebody ass.
I hear you.
I hear you.
Alert me, do something.
It's alarm.
You got a alarm dog.
He got an alarm dog.
You got an alarm dog.
I got a security.
That alarm dog.
So back to my man, Andrew Barry.
Because Andrew Barry, like I said.
He's cooking with boiling water.
I'll give him that.
Like I said, at the same time,
we got my water.
We got our defense is set, too.
So don't forget, now we've got, we lost, we lost D Bush, but we signed Quincy Williams.
And then our rookie, did he win defensive player, a defensive rookie year?
Probably.
Yeah, you already know Carson, you already know he's not playing.
So lineback is, defense solid.
We need to make sure that we get Chador another, in Chador, he has another year of growth, another year of growth.
So I'm liking what we're doing.
We need to still, we haven't gone flashy.
If we had got a receiver, I would have been geeked.
I would have been so hype.
But I know he still knows that we need that.
So we're going to get that in the draft.
Getting ready for a game means being ready for anything.
Like packing a spare stick.
I like to be prepared.

Good people, what's up, what's up? It's Questlove. So recently
I had the incredible opportunity to have a real conversation with
actors and producer Jamie Lee Curtis ahead of the release of her new
thriller series, Scarpetta. I can honestly say I've never done an interview
like that before. You know, at one point I shut my laptop down
and we just started chatting as old friends, recent
Oscar recipient.
So we have some commonality there.
I predicted that, by the way.
And you said these words to me, dust off your mantle.
Yes.
And I looked at you and I said, what?
And you said, dust off your mantle.
And then I left and that was it.
And then when all of that happened, I remember the next morning, I think I wanted to, like, write you and go, how did you know?

This is a story about a horrendous lie that destroyed two families.
Late one night, Bobby Gumpbright became the victim of a random crime.
He pulls the gun.
Tells me to lie down on the ground.
He identified Tremaine Hudson as the crime.
The perpetrator.
Germain was sentenced to 99 years.
I'm like, Lord, this can't be real.
I thought it was a mistaken identity.
The best lie is partial truth.
For 22 years, only two people knew the truth,
until a confession changed everything.
I was a monster.

What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year?

Probably a tackle.
So we do that.
I'm telling you.
Shador just grows.
Give him another year.
Coach actually believes in him.
Todd Munkin actually believes in him.
Shadoor, man, we wanted to get you
when he was in the Ravens.
We just need, just show me that you,
do you know what I'm saying?
Just a little bit of respect, a little bit of love.
And that when your boy,
Dylan Gabriel hit him with the perfect timing
because he didn't take the time
and what was going on over there.
Ain't that with him?
I think they got some,
I think they got some beef in the last room.
I hope they do.
Zero beef.
I'm going to make it up.
Zero beef.
No beef.
It ain't with Dylan Gabriel Fiancé was saying earlier how everybody wanted him to play over Shador.
If that, listen, if the Dillon.
That's what your teammates are saying from what his is.
Beyonce is saying, pillow talking.
This is what I'll tell you.
You know what I'll tell you.
This is what I'll tell you.
This what I'll tell you is Deshaun Watson and Shador and Shador's team.
right now. Deshawn has another year
because my man got the 43, okay?
Why you ain't giving no respect to Dylan Gabriel, man?
This is what I'm trying to tell you.
If Dylan...
You get something, put his name and say his name.
Dylan Gabriel.
Dylan Gabriel.
And if it's just because you're trying to bring up this noise,
Dylan Gabriel don't got to be on the team.
He could slide because...
Oh, you're okay?
We're not worried about the...
We're not letting this third string.
Third string quarterback is not about to be the reason
why we're tripping.
Ain't that what they were saying about
Sador at Thursday in quarterback, it'll be the reason why we're getting all this media.
And that's, and that was why your boy over there, Stavansky, was like, yo, mm-mm, I don't want
to say, I don't need this, the third three-st-in quarterback.
I'm just telling you what he said.
That's what he was saying.
Now you're talking about, you just go, huh?
Because they didn't initially believe.
You got to initially be a believer.
When did he start believing?
Who?
When?
He never believed.
He still don't believe.
believe.
That's why you can't be the coach of the team
if you don't believe that your quarterback can actually do it.
I need to talk to Monkin and ask him how he feels
about his quarterback room and is there going to be.
He didn't name the startup.
So I think it's going to be a legitimate
competition between
why everyone is considered a one
and gets reps with the ones,
even Dylan Gabriel,
because he was a starting quarterback for you guys.
He's going to be last year.
But he's going to be, if we're going to have two active quarterbacks, it's going to be DeShon and Chador and Dillon's going to be on the, he's going to be inactive.
That's no disrespect.
But you're saying, so you're saying.
That's no disrespect.
What Dylan Gabriel's fiancee was saying about all the teammates wanting him to actually be the starter was a lie.
Joe?
Is your mind that?
I don't know what, listen, it's fit.
I'm asking you what's going on.
It's not like a lot of strike, man.
I don't know.
So you tell me because if that's the case and you're saying that's not it, somebody got to be lying.
Yeah.
This one's telling you, there's 63 people.
There's 63 players on the team.
And there's practice squad players no matter what time it is.
So it could be up to what?
It could be 63.
It was a majority of players wanted her fiancee to be the starter and they were in support of that according to her.
I'm just going off what she said.
So if you're saying, you know, when you talk to your friends on the team, you know how they'd be like, no,
bro, that's supposed to be you.
And then the other people...
I don't have friends like that that predicating
and then placating my face.
I'm gonna tell you this.
But I'm gonna tell you this.
He's...
I guess that's what you're doing.
I don't know.
He must be talking to his homeboys that's lying.
Okay.
So it ain't that nobody is lying
as far as what was said out and open.
It's just that what was said
behind closed doors to try and pump up
his confidence and make
and feel like, yo, you still got it was
just them trying to make you feel good.
That's why I listen.
Honesty is nice.
Honesty is nice.
Lying that that's her for and deceitful and wrong.
They just trying to keep.
What they're going to do is, man, no, what they're saying is,
man, keep going out there, keep balling.
You know what I'm saying?
Keep giving your best foot forward.
Don't let that stop you.
And that's really what you need to.
They didn't were saying that.
They were saying they prefer him.
According to his fiance, they'd prefer him overshadow.
I don't believe that.
Listen.
You don't believe that.
That was what was reported.
What are you talking about?
What were you talked about?
That's what I'm saying.
Listen.
So she's lying.
Yeah.
I don't know who she's talking to.
Oh, you're a stutter monster.
When you don't want to answer.
I'm not going to sit up here and call in shorty.
Tell me what you're thinking.
If everything that we heard is true and what we didn't heard wasn't true and everything is supposed to be what it's going to be,
everything that was said can't be true.
Somebody got to be lying.
Who you think lying, Joe?
I think Dylan might have false reported
how many teammates wanted him to be the starting quarterback
to his old lady.
Okay.
If you got Miles Garrett in the locker room
and he's the real way he wants Shador
at the end of the day, like the starters,
I think Denzel Ward, I think if you would ask
the people that are on the field,
the starting 22 players
who wants Shador to be the starter.
I think it might be more,
of them are saying Shador, then saying Dylan.
So there might be a couple that say Dylan,
but I don't think the majority, for me personally,
would be that locker room saying,
oh, I want Dylan Gabriel to be our starting quarterback
instead of Shador Sanders.
So I'm saying he might risk in the turn.
Like, my babe.
Might have over-exaggerated.
How many people are on your side?
What was saying?
How many people, she's like, what's going on, babe?
Why you ain't out there, does?
He likes, no, I don't even know, man.
They hate and they tripping on me, man.
Everybody want me to be the starter.
Yep.
That's what I'm saying.
That's what I'm saying.
You're going to go tell your lady how you feel like,
nah, baby, I'm killing them in practice.
And that John picked off.
And then in practice, we're like, oh, no, that joke was picked off.
And how do she know the difference?
She's listening to what you want.
You're going to tell your lady how you feel at the crib.
I'm bowling.
No, that joke was picked off.
Okay.
And now she's like, no, they're at everybody at the job saying,
my man is hooping.
Like, I don't know what y'all talking about.
that's what I'm saying
so I don't want to be like
come on Debo
you gotta pick up
when I'm putting down
without trying to be
I'm picking up
what you're putting down
Joe but
listen
you could lie to everybody
but you can't lie to yourself
and if you're good
and lying to yourself
that's what I'm saying
I'm not trying to put that on
but like yeah
if I would ask personally
I think they wanted
Chador to start
so now Dylan is saying that
that's him
he's feeling like
I'm like, who are you talking to in the locker room?
You put a name on the home boys that you was hollering at
that think you should be starting.
You know what I'm saying?
Drop a name.
Drop a name.
Tell me who it.
Tell me who you think you should be started.
Let's go for real.
Who?
You show me.
And then they went and set my man up, get his house,
knocked in, trying to knock his confidence for the game.
You know, that's just people being foul, Debo.
That's just people just trying to end up there.
I'm just saying, nope.
Beyonce feeling this way, he's saying this and that.
I'm just saying inside job, you know what I'm saying?
I'm just conspiracy theory.
I'm not saying it happened.
You know, I'm a conspiracy theory.
And I'd like to, I think in other spaces.
Like, you know what I'm saying?
Like, your thought process stays to this world.
Your thought process stays to earth.
Me?
I think, I think universal, dude.
You know what I'm saying?
I'm thinking outside of the realm
of the natural order of what you're used to.
It's laws on earth that you can get past,
grabbing, all that other stuff.
My mind got range.
I'm in other galaxies.
I hear you, coach.
You know?
I hear you.
But the Browns stay in Cleveland.
That's why they can't get nowhere.
Oh, they're going to be just, I'm telling you,
we're going to be just fine.
We're going to be just fine.
Not like a lot of those games very, very close.
We could have won a lot of them.
So just last minute decision.
Shador still at the same time, too.
I'm not, he has a lot of growth that can happen.
So I'm ready to see it.
Ready to see.
I'm ready to get him some weapons.
Line.
Ron.
You know, how many, how many more games of that five and 12 record?
Do y'all think y'all could have put in a win category?
Probably at least four.
We had the Minnesota game.
We had the Bills game.
We had a lot of games that are just,
but that's every team.
That's every team.
So you know what I'm saying?
Like, we could easily win those games.
We're not just getting blowed out.
And we can play better.
The offense can play better.
Shador can get his footwork right.
They're not spinning around in the pocket.
I'm not saying that he's playing already great.
But now, Todd Munkin, New Year, line, more weapons.
Not, you know what I'm saying?
People were dropping passes.
Sometimes people get.
Where's the weapons?
Where's the more weapons?
The more weapons is, all right, Jerry Judy's coming back.
Isaiah Bond is nice.
Jerry Judy, stop, stop, stop, stop.
What do you do?
That was weaponized last year.
This one I'm trying to tell you.
The ones who really are tight end, our tight end,
rookie, young bull, fofo, and Juckins are running back.
I'll give you that.
I give you that.
You definitely give me fofo.
You definitely give me folkfo.
We should have just won't.
And you give me Juckins are running back.
I'll give you fo foe, but that's something else too.
Because I heard a rumor through the Grapevine about something that may have been said by, you know, one of the other players about foe foe and it was, you know, and maybe it was coach and maybe he said something.
And he said, I know I use tight ends, but I ain't about to use him or something like that.
I don't know.
I'm just thinking.
No, no, no.
You are just literally making it up.
I know you did.
You just made that up.
You just made that up.
Why would make you?
Because you're trying to sabotage the Browns
and want us to have drama
that doesn't really exist.
That's why you're throwing in
the Dylan Gabriel stuff.
That's why you're doing all of that.
You're the media.
You're the media.
I'm not going to let it rock.
I'm not going to let it rock.
I'm not going to let it rock.
None of that.
No, everybody's good.
We're good over here.
Juckins, you're good.
Fofo-Fo.
You already know what time it is.
You good.
Man, almost went to the Pro Bowl.
So then, like I said, Isaiah Bond.
Deep threat, Isaiah Bond.
Throwing to the Pro Bowl, too.
What the Pro Bowl mean?
All right, don't worry.
Okay, take...
He hooped.
So we got him.
We got Isaiah Bond, deep threat.
Judy going tighten up and know,
because Judy got the sauce.
You know what I'm saying?
Just got the sauce.
And then we're going to get...
Black football.
And then we're going to get...
We know we need...
We know we need more.
So we're going to get some more receivers.
That's why I said.
The receiver has to be addressed, a thousand percent.
But that's why now we just was doing the line.
We lost Dee Bush.
We did the linebacker.
I don't know.
You know what I'm saying?
So don't trip.
You just go talk when you.
You just go keep talking when I'm trying to point out something.
Yeah.
It's real disrespectful, Joe.
You know, but, hey, I wouldn't expect no less from a player to play so long.
How do you look?
What do you think about the Browns, though, Debo?
If you just being unlawful,
honest. I know you don't like them, but as a perspective, what's going on? What do you think is going on?
I think Andrew Berry is doing enough to fill vacant spots. He is cooking chicken with boiling water, not grease. He ain't even baking it.
It is no seasoning.
You know when you're born in the chicken,
you can't get no seasoning.
I hear you.
Okay, keep going, though.
Keep going so he's just cooking chicken and boiling water.
Now.
Okay.
No.
It's edible.
You can eat it.
It's going to nourish.
That's, I'm just saying, that's kind of what y'all doing.
I mean, it ain't going to kill you.
You know what I'm saying?
It may not taste good, though.
It may not taste good.
It's going to get the job done.
It's going to help me survive.
You're just eating for purpose.
It don't matter what it tastes like.
Hey, that's it.
Per purpose.
You're trying to put it in calories.
You're probably put it in protein and carbs.
And you know what you're doing for carbs?
He's just sprinkling sugar on that thing.
That's it.
He's just sprinkling sugar on that.
And I ain't, you know, I ain't seen nothing that was a straight, just carb load move.
Boom.
I ain't seen nothing that was like, ah, put me out there in the game coach.
Right now, let's go.
I think it's the right now, like you said, like, okay, I respect it.
I respect it because I'm saying I can say this.
same. Everything you're saying right there
was legit, okay?
You can say the same about who or what.
What you just said about how he's...
What you said, you could say the same what I was saying, but you, that would be a
method of what he's saying. What you're saying about the Browns, Andrew
Barry, how he's cooking with a little, with some boiling water right now,
is because I can see how we didn't get any splash, like no, great receiver,
you know what I'm saying, in which we needed.
Spliss, splash, we was taking a bag.
We signed a D.B running back and receipts.
Okay, you know, and that's why I can see where you, I could see that.
Okay.
So I'm just looking at it.
That's why I always was saying he's doing good enough.
He's just trying to fill in the pieces right now, but we still have time.
It's still, we still got a lot of draft picks.
We still know exactly what we need.
He knows what we need.
So I'm just giving them time.
I'm not going to overreact.
So that's what I'm saying.
Okay, we're just chipping it.
You know what I'm saying?
Making sure we said it's line and it's receivers.
You're trying, you're chipping in with the line.
right now, okay, cool, nothing crazy.
No receivers yet.
Okay, all right, but we're still looking.
I'm still waiting.
But he knows that because he's,
because obviously the roster still what it is.
So that's what I'm saying.
It's smooth right now.
We're figuring it out.
He still is not crazy.
It's not like Omar Khan.
Do, lift your hat up a little bit
so I can look in your eyes
and see if you believe this shit.
I'm a believer in what I say.
I'm a believer in what I say.
Joe, man.
Hey, man, I love you.
brother, you know what I'm saying, but I just, you know, it is what it is.
Good people, what's up, what's up? It's Questlove.
So recently I had the incredible opportunity to have a real conversation with an actress

Late one night, Bobby Gumpright became the victim of a random crime.
The perpetrator was sent.
to 99 years until a confession changed everything.
I was a monster.

Ready for a different take on Formula One?
Look no further than No Grip, a new podcast tackling the culture of motor racing's most coveted
series.
Join me, Lily Herman, as we dive into the under-explored pockets of F1, including the story
of the woman who last participated in a Formula.
One race weekend, the recent uptick in F1 romance novels, and plenty of mishap scandals and sagas
that have made Formula One a delightful, decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years.

Ego Woda is your host for the 26 IHart Podcast Awards, live at South by Southwest.
Hello, is anybody there?
Raised by a single mom, Ego may have a few father-related issues.
Are we supposed to talk about your dad?
Her podcast, Thanks Dad, is full of funny, heartfelt conversations with actors,
including fellow S&L alums, comedians, musicians, and more about life
and their wonderfully complicated relationships with their fathers.
I think and hope that's a good thing.
